Dahlia was always beautiful, but when the rain fell at night, it became something else—something softer, almost magical. The streets glistened under the dim glow of streetlights, puddles reflecting tiny fragments of the city’s soul. The California breeze carried the fresh scent of wet earth, mingling with the distant hum of waves crashing against the shore. Everything slowed down, wrapped in the gentle lull of falling raindrops.

From The Obscura’s (Morgans Listener) glass balconys smudged sliding door, Morgan watched as the mist curled over rooftops, the world hushed and dreamlike. The rain softened the city’s edges, turning hurried footsteps into quiet reflections and lonely streets into intimate moments. The night belonged to the storm, and in its quiet embrace, Morgan and his Lover felt at peace.

The apartment smelled of fresh coffee and cheap leather, the scent curling between stacks of worn books and a flickering candlelight. Morgan sank into the quiet, listening to the rain tap softly against the window, time stretching and slowing in midnight’s embrace.

Morgan sank into the fresh leather, the scent still sharp in the air as he breathed deeply, letting the quiet settle around them. Obscura lay across his lap, unmoving, their thoughts lost in the lull of exhaustion. The silence wasn’t empty—it was earned. For once, the world wasn’t pulling at them, demanding their attention, their energy, their endless, restless minds. Whether it was their bodies that needed the stillness or just the weight of their thoughts, it hardly mattered. Right now, the quiet was enough.

Morgan let his fingers brush absently through Obscura’s hair, tracing slow patterns as the quiet stretched between them. With a softness almost instinctive, he bent down, pressing a gentle kiss to their forehead—a silent offering, a wordless confession. Obscura didn’t stir, but the corners of their lips curved just slightly, as if acknowledging the moment without needing to open their eyes. The hush of the night held them close, wrapping them in its calm, the world outside feeling impossibly far away.

“I love you, Sweetheart.” Morgan reminds his lover, cringing at the new territory that was…the trial and error of impossible petnames.

“I love you too,” Obscura chuckles, “But that one’s a no.”

Morgan sighs in response, though, a smile on his blush-brushed face. “That’s another one off the list, then.”

Morgan let his head sink into the couch, eyes drifting shut as he surrendered to the storm’s quiet symphony. Raindrops played their soft melody against the windowpane, their rhythm steady, calming. As he listened, his mind wandered—sifting through every pet name he could think of. Angel felt..too grand, too weighty. And Babe didn’t quite fit, too ordinary. What about Sweetie? No, that one was sorta…creepy..?

None of them felt right. None of them belonged to them the way he wanted.

…

Well.

“My…Song?” Morgan asks, raising an eyebrow and hoping for the best. It fit, it did. It was poetic—Nostalgic. It felt too fitting if anything.

They giggle, “…pffft.”

Damnnit.

to be clear, I love both deeply. but star trek vs star wars is such a stupid conversation for so many reasons. if we're entertaining the comparison and even talking just romantic ships in fandom, star trek crushes star wars under its starfleet issued boots. 75% of all star wars romance is like "two people who hate each other stood next to each other on screen for a millisecond too long, and now we have five hundred thousand fics about what it would be like if they were entirely different people who actually liked each other," and 75% of all star trek romance is "two people who would find each other in any lifetime, whose relationship transcends romantic or physical into a whole new definition of love and devotion."

1. Moon and Sun? No. Supernova and Cluster—Or. hear me out. Stars and Cloud.

2. “It would be crazy if we liked each other…cause you know…we’re the only Seer Obscura recorded in our, what—century?” 👀

Morgan Kyne;

1. favorite show is shark tank. I feel like he likes to have it on in the background while he is working, he definitely grew up watching it.

2. Goes non-verbal in groups of people, everyone wonders why he looks sad when he’s not. Just zoning out all of the time.

3. A huge mamas boy… or was. Then again we don’t know much about Morgan’s personal life

I’ve posted a bit about my D.A.M.N. Crew designs but I haven’t updated them in a bit.

Some notes about them:

Damien:

-he hates fire-elemental stereotypes and, as such, refrains from wearing a lot of red. His blue hair adds to this

-this outfit is an example of one of his cold winter outfits, ones that aren’t actually very warm but look warm to not seem suspicious to unempowered people

-the patches are made by him or bought from artist markets (one of them has Huxley’s jersey number hehehe)

-he’s very well-built under the coat, I might post smth with out it on

Huxley:

-his design was one of the easiest (it’s also one of the oldest so I may update it soon) because he describes his style pretty often

-Damien helps him repair his clothes and sews a lot of his patches, including the one on his shirt

-WE’RE DISREGARDING THE AUDIO WHERE DAMIEN CARRIED HUXLEY CAUSE THATS NOT GONNA HAPPEN W/ THIS HEIGHT DIFFERENCE IDK CARE HOW RIPPED DAMIEN IS. I chose this height difference and I thought it was funny so I’m sticking with it. Damiens an angry lil guy

-Huxley’s dreads go down to his upper back but they’re pulled up most of the time because he doesn’t do much w/ them

Lasko:

-i love his lil glasses charms, they jingle when he gets stressed and his powers start going

Gavin:

-HES SO COOL IM SO PROUD OF HIM

-Huxley is taller than him and Gavin hates it so he wear platforms whenever their in public together (plus he knows he looks great in them)

-this is the most dressed you’re gonna get him, if he;s home, his shirt is off immediately

-to unempowered humans, he doesn’t have his ears or horns

-the tattoo isn’t inherent to concubi but his seen it in human media and thought they looked cool

-(I might give him a tail idk, it’d probably have a lil spade at the end)

Freelancer:

-the tattoos on their leg (ignore the fact that they’re unfinished, I don’t want to work on them rn) are a patchwork sleeve they’ve been working on for a few years. A few of the tattoos are inspired by members of the D.A.M.N. Crew but they’re not the type of person to get names or faces on themself

-they’ve been taking testosterone for 3 years at this point and their stubble is coming in

-I totally didn’t give them my hair but cooler

Kody:

-I’d describe his style as ‘yacht fuck boy’

-god i hate him

- he wants to have a full goatee but he can’t grow hair on his upper lip so it’s kinda a neck beard/soulpatch thing

Caelum:

-he’s so fucking cute omggg

-he changes form depending on his charge because different people are comforted by different appearances and this is his for Freelancer (i don’t remember if the shapeshifting this is only for concubi correct me if im wrong)

-his ears twitch

-i imagine lil video game emotes coming off him when he talks :)
