from the moment you and remus lupin first crossed paths, you two knew that you were destined to be rivals. both of you were exceptionally gifted students, with a thirst for knowledge that knew no bounds. and so, from that fateful day onwards, you engaged in a fierce competition that would last for almost the entirety of your time at hogwarts.

your rivalry manifested itself in many ways, from academic achievements to gaining more house points and everything in between. you vied for the top spot in every class, each determined to outshine the other and prove their superiority. and as the years went by, their rivalry only intensified, with neither willing to back down from the challenge.

yet, amidst the fierce competition and the constant battle for supremacy, you and found yourselves drawn to each other in a way that neither could explain. it was a connection that went beyond mere rivalry, a bond that defied logic and reason.

as the two of you navigated the treacherous waters of your academic rivalry, you and remus found solace in each other's company, sharing late-night study sessions (even if you two wouldn't say a word to each other, the comfortable silence was actually comforting) and engaging in spirited debates about your favorite subjects. you challenged each other's beliefs and pushed each other to new heights, each secretly admiring the other's intellect and determination.

but it wasn't until your fifth year at hogwarts that you and remus's rivalry took an unexpected turn. the marauders, remus's friends who were too tired of seeing their friend arguing with you and at the same tine punishing himself by not admitting his true feelings, decided to intervene, determined to help their friend realize his true feelings for you.

the rest of the marauders had a plan, and they were determined to make remus realize his feelings for you once and for all. they had enlisted the help of the girls, and they were all in on the plan. they knew that you had feelings for remus (even if you didn't know it yet), of course they did- they were your best friends after all. and so they were determined to help you win his heart.

the gryffindor common room was decorated with streamers and fairy lights, and the air was filled with the sound of laughter and music. they were all dressed to the nines, ready to have a good time.

lily was wearing a beautiful green dress that complemented her fiery red hair and made james’ jaw drop and eyes almost pop out of his sockets the moment she entered the common room, marlene was in a sleek black jumpsuit, and alice was in a stunning pink dress that matched her bubbly personality.

but it was you who caught remus's eye as soon as you walked into the room and made your way towards the girls, in need of a drink. remus couldn't help but feel a surge of jealousy as he watched other guys eye you from head to toe from across the room.

as the night went on, the marauders put their plan into action. they made sure that you were always by remus's side, engaging him in the conversation and laughing at his awkward jokes (which to be fair were actually funny). they even got sirius to ask you to dance, knowing that it would make remus jealous.

but remus was too caught up in his own feelings to notice what was going on around him. he couldn't take his eyes off you, and he couldn't shake the feeling that something was different about you tonight. you seemed more confident, more sure of yourself, and it was driving him crazy.

as you danced with sirius, his hands on your body and you laughing at his stupid jokes, remus wished it was him instead, he hadn’t realized that his grip had tightened around the cup he was holding, his eyes narrowing. he wished it was his hands on you, dancing with him, and he realized he was longing the sound of your laughter at his admittedly stupid jokes.

it was then that Remus realized the depth of his feelings for you, a realization that both thrilled and terrified him. he had spent so long denying his feelings, burying them deep within his heart, that he didn't know how to express them. he was scared, terrified from both the fact that there was a possibility you didn’t share his feelings back, and the possibility of him hurting you one way or another.

with a surge of determination, and maybe too much of alcohol in his system, even tho he couldn’t really get drunk due to his condition, he still could get tipsy, and the tipsy remus was way more confident than the sober remus. he made his way over to you and sirius, his heart pounding in his chest. he had to tell you how he felt, before it was too late.

Second, without a doubt I can see you with Remus Lupin. You sort of make him roll his eyes with your rule breaking, but he never hesitates to join you (or bail you out if you get caught). He loves it when you two can just curl up together and each do your own thing, whether that’s reading separate books or he reads/writes while you watch your shows. He doesn’t quite understand why anyone would add that many things to tea at first, but after you get him to take a sip he becomes completely and utterly addicted to bubble tea with you. On days after the full moon when he’s just exhausted and doesn’t have any energy physically and is so out of it mentally/emotionally, the only thing he wants is to eat soup with you. Ok so for Marvel I think maybe you and TASM Peter? I just imagine you’d meet because he could smell you had food in the back of the class, and you shared with him to keep him from telling and he just absolutely falls in love with you right then and there. He loves to take pictures of you while you read or study and sometimes when you’re out exercising he pretends to race after you while swinging. On nights where he comes back tired from patrols and you’re tired too, the two of you lay down and watch your favorite shows. I didn't know if you wanted a romantic relationship so I’ve brought one in but if you don't like it, I don't mind writing another for you! I also feel like the reader could be a bit harsh in this but the teacher within me came out! Sorry!

Pairing: Remus Lupin x Fem!Reader

Your history with Remus Lupin spanned years having become friends in your Second Year of Hogwarts. You had also known James, Sirius and Peter – it still hurt to think of what had been lost. Of the four Marauders, you were closest with Remus. You had connected over a shared love of books and chocolate and from there, a close and dear friendship had blossomed.

A year after your graduation you had applied for a teaching position within Hogwarts; Dumbledore remembered you fondly and the interview had been a success. You were quickly offered the job which you happily accepted.

Time swiftly passed in the corridors of the school for witchcraft and wizardry; meeting new students, saying goodbye to old. You were not ashamed to admit that you teared up a little the moment you saw Harry Potter walk into the Great Hall; the spitting image of James with Lily’s eyes. When he was sorted into Gryffindor, you knew that James and Lily were watching their son from wherever their souls had gone to.

Hogwarts was in need of a new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, and they were in need desperately. You also knew of a man who had need of employment; Remus Lupin struggled after the deaths of James and Lily and the events that followed. However, he struggled more getting paid employment due to the discrimination laws against Werewolves. Putting two and two together, you suggested to Dumbledore of appointed Remus as the new DADA Professor. Dumbledore took your suggestion seriously, and a letter arrived a week later from Remus himself, saying that he would see you in September.

His arrival was bittersweet; the closeness between the two of you had faded somewhat despite the common letters exchanged passed between the both of you, but the sight of him helped to heal an old wound within you. Time had passed so fast since the death of James and Lily and the loss of Sirius and Peter. Almost overnight, it had been you and Remus left; people would remember James, Lily, Sirius, and Peter but not quite like how you and Remus would. His arrival at Hogwarts brought old memories back to the surfaces; ones he was more than happy to talk about on an evening. The closeness you had both experienced through your education at Hogwarts was soon rekindled.

A routine rapidly developed between you and Remus; on a morning, he would wait for you by the door to your living quarters so you both could head to breakfast together. On an evening, you saved a seat for him at the teacher’s table. It was inevitable that the students would notice and start to question the closeness. It never seemed to bother Remus; even when you raised the subject to him one evening, he simply shrugged and said that teenagers will be teenagers and they will gossip about anything.

It is on a Friday morning that Harry, Hermione and Ron witness Remus’ and yours routine up close. They’re sitting on one of the many benches before their first lesson of the day. As you and Remus walk past, they all wish you a good morning. You wish them one back before returning your attention to Remus.

“I’ll see you at lunch.” You say.

Remus nods, smiling down at you. You blush at the look on his face, he had this way of making you feel as if you were the only one there. The two of your parted ways to head to your classrooms, a quick brush of your fingers against his as a goodbye for now.

Harry, Hermione and Ron were now invested in what they were seeing. They had never thought of their teachers to have a personal life; they simply thought that they lived and worked in the castle and that was that. Now that they saw this, they couldn’t help but be intrigued.

“I never realised just how close Professor Lupin and Professor (Y/L/N) were.” Harry states.

Hermione hits Harry on the shoulder, “Don’t be so clueless! They totally fancy each other! It’s obvious.”

Harry rubs at his shoulder, glaring at Hermione, “How?”

Hermione shakes her head at him, “Look at them. Her touches lingered longer than they should have and look at how he smiled at her. It was like she was the only one there.”

Ron frowns, “How have you seen all of this?”

Hermione sighs, “Honestly. You’re both so clueless. I’m telling you know, they’re both in love with each other. I doubt they’ve told one another either. Oh! It’s so exciting!”

Ron looks at Hermione as if she’s grown another head. She grins widely at both the boys, “We have to get them together!”

Ron shakes his head, “No, nope. I do not want to get involved in a romantic plot between teachers. Not my thing.”

Harry nods his head, agreeing with everything Ron says. Hermione frowns at both of them, “We could be helping out our two favourite professors!”

Ron looks at Harry, “She isn’t going to drop this until we agree.”

Harry nods, “I know.”

Ron sighs, “Okay, we’ll do this, but that’s it. No more teacher romance, it’s gross.”

Luckily for Ron, Hermione explains that the plan could be put into action fairly fast. They had your class before break – the perfect opportunity, Hermione illuminates, plenty of time before their next lesson to ask you some questions.

Harry, Hermione and Ron corner you after their lesson the same day, “How do you know Professor Lupin so well?”

“I was at school with him,” You turned your eyes to Harry, “I was friends with him and your father, Harry. I knew both of your parents.”

It was almost immediate, the change in Harry. “You were?”

You smiled sadly, “I was. James used to make sure that I ate when it came to exams because he knew that I would spend more time in the library instead of eating or sleeping.”

Hermione interjected, “So you knew Sirius Black as well?”

You frowned at the mention of the Marauder you thought you had known, “I did. Or at least, I thought I did. Anyway, what does this have to do with anything?”

“We’ve seen you and Professor Lupin together. We thought there was more to your relationship.”

“We are friends, nothing more. I don’t see how that is an appropriate topic for students.”

The trio had the decency to blush at this. Ron, however, gained his confidence back quicker than both Harry and Hermione, “We aren’t blind, Professor. Both you and Lupin have a thing for each other. It’s sickening actually, it’s put me off my breakfast more than once.”

You frown at the Weasley, “Thank you for your assessment, Ronald. I can assure there is nothing between me and Professor Lupin other than a long friendship.”

“But you wish there was.” Harry states.

“Again, I don’t think this is an appropriate topic. And look, it’s time for next period, off you go you three and please try to stay out of other teacher’s personal lives.”

“It’s okay Professor, we won’t tell Professor Lupin you like him.” Ron promises as he leaves your classroom.

You shake your head in disbelief as the trio leave. You never realised that your feelings for Remus were obvious; so obvious that even the students had picked up on them. You and Remus had quickly confessed to the other than you harboured romantic feelings for the other. Your relationship came naturally after that; the both of you agreeing to keep your relationship a secret from the students, but not the teachers.

You shake your head again, heading to your living quarters. There was a pile of exam papers that needed to be marked which seemed to be getting bigger and bigger by the day. All teachers are Hogwarts dreaded exam time just as much as the students; despite being the one to set the questions, it never made marking any easier.

Opening the door to your living quarters, it was a nice surprise to see Remus already there sitting on the couch, marking Fourth Year homework. You press a kiss to his head before heading to the kitchen to make yourself a coffee knowing that the caffeine would be needed to get through the next few hours of marking.

“Kettle’s just boiled, my love.” Remus shouts to you.

You bite your lip at the use of the pet name. You were certain it was your favourite despite the myriad of others he used. “Thank you, darling. Do you want a drink?”

“I’d love a tea.”

“One tea coming up!”

Heading back to the couch, a drink in each hand, you hand Remus his before taking a sip of yours. You sigh happily and lean back into the couch; Remus places a hand on your thigh and rubs comforting circles there.

“What are your plans for the rest of the day?” You ask, the clock had barely struck eleven, but you had finished with your lessons for today. You appreciated it when days were light with teaching, so you get ahead on any organisation – or have a nap, which is exactly what you wanted to do.

“I’m teaching last period, but free until then. I wanted to get ahead on some marking, you don’t mind that I came up here, do you?”

You lean forward to press a chaste kiss to his lips, “I don’t mind at all.”

He pulls you in for another kiss, and another kiss, and another kiss. You start to see where this is going, and pull away completely, “Remus, we have so much marking to do.”

He sighs, “I know. What are your plans for the rest of the day?”

You point to the large pile of exam papers, “I’m marking those and then I’m going to sleep.”

Remus hums, “I like the sound of that. Other than the last bit, can I ask a favour, darling?”

“Of course.”

“Would you help me in my last lesson today. It’s Third Year, dark creature.”

You nod, “Sure, I’ll help you.”

You start to chuckle as you think back to the conversation you had earlier with Harry, Hermione and Ron.

“What’s so funny?” Remus asks, smiling already.

“Some of the students are on to us.”

Remus arches an eyebrow, “Oh yeah?”

You nod, “I was approached by Harry, Hermione and Ron not even half an hour ago asking whether I had feelings for you.”

Remus laughs. That sound has quickly become your favourite in the months of your relationship. “I bet that was an interesting conversation.”

“It was. I can’t get over just how much he looks like James and Lily, Remus.”

Remus’ hand returns to your thigh, rubbing gently, “I know exactly what you mean. He’s a perfect combination of the both of them.”

The rest of the time before Remus’ lesson was spent working through the pile of exam papers. OWLs were a marker for students for which subjects to take to NEWTs – from the looks of it, you could have pretty full classes from Sixth Year with the amount of effort placed into the exam papers.

Remus rubs his eyes around ten minutes before the start of his lesson. The aftermath of the full moon two weeks before was still affecting him, but you knew he was working through it and you would help in any way you could.

Standing, you grab Remus’ hand and pull him up. Pressing a kiss to his cheek, you utter, “Let’s go see you in action, Professor Lupin.”

He grins widely, he adores his job. He adores it because he loves teaching, but also because it brought him to you.

Entering the classroom, you can’t help but notice Hermione whisper to Harry about your presence in the classroom.

“Afternoon class. I know last lesson of the day, but let’s power through shall we?” Remus claps his hands together, calling attention from the class, “Today’s lesson will focus on Red Caps; our lesson today will focus solely on the description of the Red Cap

“Yes, Miss Granger?”

“Why is Professor (Y/L/N) here if we are simply describing features and threats of a Red Cap?”

“Red Caps are nasty creatures. They are known only to dwell where blood has been spilt and will lure Muggles to their death before dipping their cap in their blood hence the name Red Cap. I’ve invited Professor (Y/L/N) as a precaution.”

Hermione seems satisfied with the answer because they are no follow up questions. Remus throws a smile in your direction before heading into the back room to grab the Red Cap. He returns a moment later with a Red Cap in a cage.

“As distressing as it looks, the Red Cap will be released into the Forbidden Forest after this lesson. He won’t come into any harm here. Any questions on your tasks for today? None? Okay, feel free to come to the front and take some notes on the physicality of the Red Cap before consulting pages 66-70 of your textbook on the threats a Red Cap can pose to Muggles and Wizards.”

The class seem hesitant to move. You shift so you stand on the other side of the Red Cap.

“Both professors are here, you are safe to come up and look.” Remus reassures.

Harry stands first, bringing his notebook and quill with him. Slowly, the class start to follow. They’re quickly engaged with the task, conversations happening about what they can see.

You and Remus take a step back, keeping an eye on the class at all times. Hermione nudges Ron as she notices the closeness between the two of you; Ron rolls his eyes at her before asking Harry what he’s written so far.

Hermione pulls Harry and Ron to one side, whispering an idea to them. Neither of the boys looked entirely convinced, but they soon start to nod as Hermione continues to explain her plan.

They join the rest of the class. Hermione edges towards the caged Red Cap; it fixes her with a look and for a moment, she doesn’t want to go through with her plan. She discreetly pulls her wand from her robes and whispers the unlocking charm. The locks on the cage and on the Red Cap’s feet unlock – a testament to her power.

You and Remus realise what she has done too late. The Red Cap bursts free from its cage and all hell breaks loose. Students start running for the door. Remus shouts for calm, some students listen but remain close to the door in case of the need for a quick exit.

You try to wrangle the Red Cap back into its cage; an idea it does not appreciate because it quickly leaps for you, not giving you any chance to defend yourself magically. Hysteria starts up again at the sight of a Professor fighting with a Red Cap.

“Petrificus Totalus!” Remus shouts.

The Red Cap above you freezes entirely; petrified from Remus’ spell. Remus turns to the class, “After all of that, I think class can be dismissed. Grab your things, students. Harry, Hermione, Ron, please wait a moment.”

The colour drains from the faces of the trio. They didn’t expect for it to go this bad; they didn’t think it would try to hurt you seriously. All they wanted was for Remus to save the creature and you would hopefully confess your feelings for him since you had seen him in a saviour’s light. All three dreaded what was to come next.

Wiping your clothes down, you try to keep your temper in check. You can hear Remus dismissing the rest of the class other than Harry, Hermione and Ron. All three look as if they would rather be anywhere than here.

Remus comes straight to you the minute the final student has left the classroom, “Are you okay?”

You nod, not entirely trusting your voice. He turns towards the trio.

“Who thought of this idea?” Remus asks, calmly.

“We had to take matters into our own hands, you both were so clueless!” Ron cries.

“We got tired of waiting for you both to confess.” Hermione says.

“Confess what?” Remus asks.

“Your feelings for each other!” Ron shouts, “It is so obvious; the whole school already thinks you’re in a relationship.”

Remus looks shocked at the outburst.

“None of this was acceptable behaviour. I hope you are all aware of this. I will be taking 30 points from Gryffindor because of this and you will have an hour’s detention with me every evening next week so make sure your diaries are free.” You state.

“We’re sorry, we didn’t realise that things would get so out of hand.” Harry apologises.

Remus sighs, “Your intentions were good, but your actions were dangerous.”

“We know.” All three say.

“We are really sorry, Professors.” Hermione whispers.

“That’s all for now, head back to the dormitory. Go straight there, no detours please.” You say, dismissing the three students. They grab their belongings quickly, leaving the classroom just as fast.

You sit down at one of the desks, putting your head into your hands. Remus perches on the edge of the desk, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder.

“I can’t believe they did that just for us to confess.” He whispers.

You groan into your hands, “They’re exactly like we were when we were here.”

Remus laughs, “I think they could be worse.”

You pull your hands away from your face, “James and Lily would be so proud of Harry.”

Remus’ hands rubs your shoulder, “They really would.”

You place your hand over his, “I miss them, Remus.”

“I do too.”

“I feel awful for being so harsh, but what they did was not acceptable.”

“All for us to confess.” He says, his hand squeezing your shoulder reassuringly.

“I wonder what they’ll do when they realise that we’ve been in a relationship for three months now.”

Remus laughs, loud and long. He claps his hands together, “That will be a sight to see.”

“Should we tell them?”

A glimmer of mischief lights up in Remus’ eyes, he was one of the original Marauders; the famous mischief makers of Hogwarts. “No, let’s not.”

You chuckle, standing up. Remus pulls you to stand between his legs he places a finger under your chin before he kisses you.

Harry definitely inherited his mischievous streak from his father, but what Hogwarts never truly knew that behind the majority of the pranks played by the Marauders, it was Remus who had planned and instigated them.

You wrap your arms around his neck, whispering to his mouth, “Thank you for saving me.”

“Always, my dear.”

“Wanna go manage some mischief together?” Sirius asks as he slides onto the bench next to you for breakfast. You give him an odd look and wait for him to continue.

“Cause I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.” He finishes with a wink. James and Peter both laugh along with Sirius, while you and Lily roll your eyes. Remus, however, merely grimaces and you see his hands curl into fists. You were used to Sirius’s stupid pick up lines. He had been doing it for the last month or so after he had found out about your crush on Remus. Sirius was convinced that if he flirted with you Remus would get jealous and reveal his feelings for you. Unfortunately, it has been a bust so far. 

“Still no, though I must admit your lines are getting better,” you tease. Sirius grabs his chest in fake shock, making both Lily and you laugh at him.

“Any ideas of what we should do today?” Remus asks in a strained voice. It was a rare Saturday where there was nothing official planned. No Quidditch, no Hogsmede, and thankfully none of you had any homework this weekend.

“Well, I was actually thinking we could go down by the lake and practice our dueling.” You answer as you reach for some fruit.

“That’s a great idea! Professor Walker said we would be starting dueling in class next week.” Lily agrees with a smile.

“I got dibs on you Evans,” James says with his signature smirk. Lily rolled her eyes but gave him a quick kiss anyway.

“I call dibs on dueling Y/L/N! Unless of course, Moony wants dibs?” Sirius asks, wiggling his eyebrows at Remus suggestively.

“Ouch!” Sirius exclaims, jerking his leg under the table.

“You ok Sirius?” You ask.

“Yeah, Sirius, you good?” Remus inquires with an unusually sharp edge to his voice.

“Yeah, I just bumped my shin on the table,” he grunts shooting Remus a glare. The rest of you resume eating not noticing the glaring contest Sirius and Remus are having with each other for the remainder of breakfast.

TIME SKIP TO BY THE LAKE

“Alright, who wants to go first?” Lily asks looking around. You and Sirius volunteer to go first and you swear you see Remus throw Sirius another glare. But you shake it off, Remus was probably just annoyed at Sirius for some reason, Sirius did have a habit of pissing people off. 

It has nothing to do with you, you tell yourself.

Sirius and you got into position and awaited Lily’s command to start. 

“1, 2, 3, GO!” Lily shouts. Both you and Sirius start firing off spells and curses at each other. You catch Remus’s eye at one point and he looks ready to kill Sirius, you hope Sirius’s flirting plan is working. But you try and erase that thought from your mind. There’s no way Remus liked you, he just couldn’t. 

“Did you just use the stupefy charm or are you a natural stunner?” Sirius flirts after shielding himself from your stupefy. You roll your eyes but then you hear a growl and pause.

“ENOUGH!” Remus shouts and charges over to you.

“I’m in love with you!” He admits, throwing his hands in the air. He turns on Sirius, with a look of absolute rage covering his face. “Happy now?! You’ve destroyed my friendship with Y/n!”

“Moony I didn’t mean to-“ Sirius starts, looking immediately regretful of his actions.

“Remus!” You shout making everyone stop and turn to you. Everyone except Remus who refuses to look at you and instead keeps his eyes trained on his shoes.

“Our friendship is not ruined. I love you too Remus. I have for years.” You say firmly.

“I know, I know-wait-WHAT?!” He exclaims finally looking at you.

“I love you too, you big goof,” you tease walking over to him and cupping his face with your hands, forcing him to keep his gaze on you.

“You don’t mean that,” he mutters, shrugging your hands off and turning to walk away. No fucking way is he getting out of this. You were going to talk about this one way or another.

“Remus John Lupin!” You shout causing a few other students to look over before they look away again. Remus stops dead in his tracks and slowly turns to face you, eyeing you bewildered.

“Ooooh, Moony, you just got full named!” Sirius cackles.

“Watch Sirius Orion Black!” You shout back at him, making Remus smirk. Sirius shut up after that and he and the others walked off to give you and Remus some privacy.

“Remus, I love you. And yes I do mean it. I have been in love with you since our first year.” You say as you grab his hand in yours.

“Why don’t we go for a little walk? Get some privacy,” you suggest and he nods in reply. The two of you walk towards the Whomping Willow, where no one else was around. You look around quickly and once you are sure no one can see you, you transform into your Rabbit animagus and dart to the knob on the tree to stop the Willow from moving. Remus quickly follows you into the base of the tree and you release the knob once Remus is safely inside. You transform back into your human form and lead him to the Shrieking Shack.

“Remus, I mean it, I do love you.” You say once the two of you reach the main room

“Y/n, you can’t love me. You deserve so much better than me. I’m a monster…” he trails off, looking down ashamed.

“Remus, you are not a monster,” you reply softly. 

“Look at this room,” he says motioning to the rundown room.

“You are an incredible man. You are so much more than a werewolf. How can you not see that? You are a kindhearted man, incredibly brilliant, stunningly handsome, and so much more.”

“Y/n, you don’t understand. I’m a werewolf, our society is none too kind towards people like me. If you were with me you would face many of the same prejudices. They-they would say things, about you, about us-” you cut him off already knowing where he was going with this.

“Like werewolf whore?” You ask with an edge to your voice. 

After finding out about Remus’s condition you started researching anything and everything about werewolves. While werewolf relations had gotten better over the last couple of centuries, it still was archaic. Many people who were werewolves or associated with werewolves were discriminated against. Especially witches you were romantically involved with werewolves, many tabloids and bigots called them ‘werewolf whores’, amongst other things.

“Yes.” He growled, his hands forming into tight fists and his knuckles turning white.

“Remus, I don’t care! I know what they’ll say, I know what they’ll call me. And I don’t care! As long as I have you the rest doesn’t matter.” You shout and he jerks his head up to look at you, his eyes looking much more golden than normal.

“I care! I don’t want you to go through that. I want to protect you.” He growled out.

“It’s not just your decision Remus! It’s my life too!”

“I’m not about to let you throw your life away for me!” He roared, looking angrier than you had ever seen him, though you could tell it wasn’t directed at you. He was angry with himself.

“I wouldn’t be. Remus, I’ve been in love with you since first year. I can’t imagine my life without you. A life without you isn’t worth living. Who cares what others think?! What matters is what we think! What we feel!” You shout back, refusing to back down on this.

“I won’t ruin your life.” He murmurs, you can see in his eyes he’s close to conceding. 

“You’re right, you won’t. Because you’re going to stop pushing me away. Give us a chance,” you plead. Remus lets out a sigh and starts pacing and you feel the tears well up in your eyes. He’s going to reject me. He’s going to push me away.

“Are you sure this is what you want?” Remus finally asks, turning back to you with his arms crossed over his chest.

“Yes,” you whisper, he’s on you in seconds. His large, rough hands on your face as his lips crash down upon yours.

“WOOHOO!” You hear a familiar voice whoop. Remus and you pull apart, slightly alarmed at the loud noise. Looking into the hallway you find Sirius and James hugging each other and jumping up and down, while Lily and Peter try to calm them down.

“Sorry,” Lily apologized when you looked at her. She smacked both James and Sirius on the arm to get them to stop and sent them both bone-chilling glares. Those two are in for it, you giggle to yourself.

“So...you two, are you finally...together?” James asks after he breaks away from Sirius. You send Remus a questioning look.

“Yes, we are.” He confirms, tossing his arm around your shoulders and pulling you into him.

“Fucking finally!” Sirius exclaims launching himself at you and Remus for a bear hug.

“You’re going to take credit for this aren’t you?” Remus guesses after Sirius finally lets go of the two of you.

“I think I just might Moony!” He answers, a sly smile forming on his face.

“We’ll never hear the end of it will we?” You ask even though you already knew the answer.

“Never,” Sirius confirms, throwing his arms around both yours and Remus’s shoulders as the six of you walk out of the shack.

The Intentions of Others – Severus Snape knows Lupin is hiding something, but he can be guilty of jumping to conclusions.

The first fic I ever wrote and something that had been in my head for a very long time before I got the confidence to actually write it. It probably isn’t my best work but I think it’ll always be my favourite! What started as an excuse to write some Snupin smut grew into something vaguely resembling a plot and sparked a passion for writing. 

Creature Comforts - Remus and Severus are paired to work together in Care of Magical Creatures in 6th year. Neither one is too happy with the arrangement at first.

My second Snupin and delve into teenage angst! I really enjoyed writing all the magical creatures in this and it was a fun way to experiment with more descriptive language. It was also fun to think back on my experience of being in a not-so-secret queer relationship in high school and channelling some of that.

Accidental Matchmakers - A cruel prank James pulls on Snape doesn't go the way he planned.

A Snegulus story that came to me in the early hours of the morning and I then spent all day bashing out! Originally a one shot but I’ve been inspired to write more of it and that’s what I’m working on now.  

All he needs - Severus breaks into Grimmauld Place and finds history repeating itself.

Short, canon compliant fic about the time Severus breaks into Grimmauld place to find Lily’s letter. I wrote most of this on my phone during my breaks on nightshift!

Illusion of Transparency - When it is clear that Remus is struggling under the weight of being his spy, Dumbledore once again enlists a begrudged Severus Snape to help him. Under the pressures of war, the two become closer. But why is Remus the only person whose thoughts Severus can't hear? And when the Dark Lord decides the werewolves are more trouble than they are worth, Severus has a choice to make.

My fic for the snapebang2019. This is the one I struggled with the most because I knew people would read it and I didn’t want to let my artist down! People seemed to like it though so that was a relief. Although I was dreading writing them, my favourite parts to write turned out to be the action scenes in the end. Well… apart from one scene involving Mrs Black’s portrait and Sirius’ great aunt’s chesterfield…

James Fleamont Potter liked to consider himself the number one expert on relationships at Hogwarts. He liked to say that he was the equivalent of Cupid, though his friends, Messrs. Moony, Wormtail, and Padfoot vehemently disagreed with this assertation. But what did they know of love? Of romance? Of seduction? In James’s opinion, they knew very little.

Due to his extensive knowledge and wealth of experience, James was quite sure that two of his best friends, Messrs. Moony and Padfoot were both intimately familiar with love even if they were both unaware of it. James knew that the pair were desperately in love with one another but that both were woefully inept at taking action regarding their feelings.
