Importance of Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence is the bedrock of healthy and thriving relationships, serving as the glue that binds partners together through the highs and lows of life's journey. Individuals with a high level of emotional intelligence possess the ability to recognize and understand their own emotions as well as those of their partners, laying the groundwork for empathetic communication and mutual support. This awareness enables them to navigate conflicts with poise and compassion, fostering an environment of trust and respect where both parties feel valued and understood.
Furthermore, emotional intelligence equips individuals with the tools to cultivate intimacy and connection in their relationships. By demonstrating empathy, active listening, and emotional attunement, partners can foster deeper understanding and closeness with one another. This heightened emotional awareness allows couples to celebrate each other's successes, provide comfort during times of distress, and navigate life's challenges as a unified team. Ultimately, investing in the development of emotional intelligence within a relationship fosters a bond that grows stronger over time, enriching the shared experiences and deepening the love and connection between partners.

Noah's Ark on Broadway

LISTEN NOW (8 minutes):
Listen Now as Francis Douglas tells of when Noah's Ark was featured on New York City's Broadway stage.
PODCAST TRANSCRIPT:
Today on Celebrate the Bible:
NOAH’S ARK on BROADWAY in 1896
You are not likely to find anything about Noah's Ark on New York City's famous Broadway today … but, at one time, it was the "toast of the town".
Noah's Ark, and the great world-wide flood as recorded in Genesis, is perhaps one of the most easily identifiable events in all of the Bible. The most interesting aspect of this episode is not the illusion itself, but the fact that it attracted so many people from New York City's secular population: from every-day working families, to the City's upper crust … all were thrilled with the experience.

A few points of note:
Technical details of the illusion were featured in Scientific American magazine
The Olympia was the premiere entertainment showplace of the world
Biblical themes were very popular, with all NYC audiences at the Olympia
It was founded and built by famous Oscar Hammerstein
It was reported that audiences were left spellbound after each Noah’s Ark performance
It was so popular and well-received, that the highly respected science publication, Scientific American, devoted an entire page to this Biblically-themed entertainment attraction -- complete with stunning illustrations.
Let’s take a step-by-step look at the Noah’s Ark illusion. I will inter-space the steps throughout today’s presentation.
STEP ONE

Hammerstein's Olympia Theater and Music Hall was once celebrated as the foremost entertainment venue in the entire world.
Located at 44th and Broadway in New York City, it was only two blocks from what is known today as Times Square. The main theater held 2,800-seats. And the building took up an entire city block.
STEP TWO

The rooftop was just as famous as the theater and music hall. It had a 65-foot tall glass roof, and was illuminated with over 3,000 light bulbs. To provide electricity, there were four dynamos that generated 3,200 amps of power. These dynamos also powered a complete air circulation system, and pump, that brought refrigerated water from the basement to the rooftop area -- providing what was a very early version of air conditioning ... in 1896!

Not to be outdone by any other venue, the rooftop also had trees, rocks, and even a stream that eventually led to a 40-foot lake. There were swans, ducks, and even South American monkeys.
And, while you were enjoying all of this, you could walk around the perimeter of the roof, and take in views of Central Park and neighboring New Jersey.
At the time, the cost of admission for everything, including entertainment, was only 50-cents! However, keep in mind, with the rate of inflation from 1896 to 2025, that same fifty cent admission price would be equivalent to roughly $15 to $20 today.
STEP FOUR

The Scientific American publication was founded by inventor and publisher Rufus Porter in 1845. Contributors of note include Thomas Edison, Robert Goddard, Jonas Salk, Albert Einstein, and Linus Pauling -- just to name a few.
STEP FIVE: The SOLUTION

The answer to the filling of the Ark with water is a simple one … the water funnel on the top of the Ark is attached to a hose that runs down through the support beams, then empties under the stage. The water never fills the Ark in the first place.
Other than taking creative license with a few details (for instance, the real ark was never filled with water), it was a wonderful opportunity for audience members to experience one of the great Biblical events on the grand Broadway stage.
Perhaps one day we'll see a revival of the Noah's Ark Illusion, or a variation on the theme. In the meantime, I'm glad to have been able to bring it to you with this Celebrate the Bible 250 podcast.
So, until we meet again, and for celebratethebible250, this is Francis Douglas.
If you would like me to give a presentation and small exhibit to your church group, school, or organization, on the History of the Christian Holy Bible in America, I’ll place contact information below as the 2026 Semiquincentennial America 250 year approaches.
I will be available for Southern New Jersey, Southeastern Pennsylvania, and Northern Delaware.

Common challenges in Korean mother-in-law relationships and how to overcome them
Understanding the cultural context of Korean mother-in-law relationships
In Korean culture, the relationship between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is often seen as one of the most important and delicate relationships in a family. This is because the mother-in-law is traditionally seen as the head of the household and holds a lot of influence and authority. She is also responsible for maintaining the family's reputation and ensuring that traditions and customs are upheld. In addition, the concept of filial piety, or respect for one's elders, is deeply ingrained in Korean culture. This means that a daughter-in-law is expected to show utmost respect and obedience to her mother-in-law. This can often lead to conflicts and challenges in the relationship, as the daughter-in-law may feel like she is constantly being judged and criticized by her mother-in-law.
youtube
Tips for building a positive relationship with your Korean mother-in-law
1. Understand and respect cultural norms:
As mentioned earlier, filial piety and the importance of family hierarchy are deeply ingrained in Korean culture. It is important to understand and respect these cultural norms, even if they may be different from your own. This will help to build a foundation of mutual understanding and respect in your relationship with your mother-in-law.
2. Communicate openly and respectfully:
Communication is key in any relationship, and this is especially true in a Korean mother-in-law relationship. It is important to communicate openly and respectfully with your mother-in-law, even if you may not always agree with her. Avoid confrontational or aggressive language, and try to find a compromise or solution that works for both of you.
3. Show appreciation and gratitude:
In Korean culture, showing gratitude and appreciation is highly valued. This can be as simple as saying "thank you" or offering a small gift or gesture of appreciation. Showing your mother-in-law that you value and appreciate her will go a long way in building a positive relationship.
4. Participate in family activities:
Korean families often place a strong emphasis on spending time together and participating in family activities. Make an effort to join in on family gatherings and events, and show an interest in your mother-in-law's hobbies and interests. This will help to strengthen your bond and create positive memories together.
youtube
Common challenges in Korean mother-in-law relationships and how to overcome them
1. Differences in opinions and values:
As with any relationship, differences in opinions and values can lead to conflicts and challenges. In a Korean mother-in-law relationship, these differences may be amplified due to cultural differences. It is important to approach these differences with an open mind and try to find common ground. Remember to communicate respectfully and avoid getting defensive.
2. Lack of boundaries:
In Korean culture, boundaries between family members are often blurred. This can lead to a lack of privacy and personal space, which can be challenging for some individuals. It is important to establish boundaries with your mother-in-law, such as setting specific times for visits or discussing topics that are off-limits. This will help to maintain a healthy and respectful relationship.
3. Pressure to conform to traditional gender roles:
In traditional Korean households, there are often strict gender roles and expectations for both men and women. This can put pressure on a daughter-in-law to conform to these roles, even if they may not align with her own beliefs and values. It is important to have open and honest conversations with your mother-in-law about your own beliefs and values, and to find a compromise that works for both of you.
4. Language barriers:
For those who are not fluent in Korean, language barriers can be a significant challenge in a Korean mother-in-law relationship. This can lead to misunderstandings and miscommunications, which can cause tension and strain in the relationship. It is important to make an effort to learn the language and communicate effectively, or to find alternative ways to communicate, such as through a translator or using gestures.
youtube
Promoting harmony and respect in a Korean mother-in-law relationship
1. Seek outside support:
If you are facing challenges in your relationship with your Korean mother-in-law, it can be helpful to seek outside support. This could be through a therapist or counselor who can provide unbiased advice and help you navigate any conflicts.
2. Focus on the positives:
It can be easy to get caught up in the challenges and conflicts in a relationship, but it is important to also focus on the positives. Make an effort to appreciate and acknowledge the good qualities in your mother-in-law, and try to find common interests and activities that you can enjoy together.
3. Be patient and understanding:
Building a positive relationship with your Korean mother-in-law takes time and effort. Be patient and understanding, and remember that it is a two-way street. Both parties need to make an effort to understand and respect each other in order to build a harmonious relationship. In conclusion, the relationship between a Korean mother-in-law and daughter-in-law can be complex and challenging, but with understanding, communication, and mutual respect, it is possible to overcome these challenges and build a positive and harmonious relationship. Remember to approach the relationship with an open mind and to always communicate respectfully, and you will be on your way to a strong and healthy relationship with your Korean mother-in-law.

I haven't talked enough about Two Husbands, One Wife. Because really, what do you say about perfection? It feels like any words I offer cannot do it justice.
I pretty much hold my breath every episode and pray to the show gods that they don't ruin the absolutely beautiful thing they've created.
And so far...as of episode 7...they haven't.
Because every episode has built on the idea that it really takes all THREE of them to make this relationship work. The framing reinforces this with frequent triangle shots (and even triangle dialogue). There must be a connection between all points, and no point is more important than the other. Every person is essential.
Because while Takuzo may be the "responsible" one, he's rigid in his ways.
And while Mia is the realist who easily speaks her mind and expresses what she wants, it can make her very focused on herself.
They already tried it with just the two of them. It didn't work.
And Mia and Shinpei have already tried it with just the two of them too. It doesn't work.
Because they struggle with managing responsibility on their own.
They are willing to do the work, but they need someone to guide them with structure and remind them the laundry exists. I feel that.
And although Shinpei is a free spirit who really brings "joy" to everything he does...
With just Mia, he still feels a bit insecure and not quite good enough.
And with a younger boyfriend that has so many fans, Mia can sometimes feels insecure too.
As the men have developed and taken their relationship further.
Takuzo is able to affirm Shinpei and give him the words he needs to hear.
And Shinpei's earnest and sweet nature is able to break through Takuzo's walls to help him see that his rigidity can have consequences.
His infectious energy pushes Takuzo to go places he wouldn't otherwise and encourages him to try new things.
But both men recognize that they NEED Mia.
She holds them together.
Because she's the one who can express words and speak her mind easily.
Who will make the first move when things get difficult.
And push them to make the necessary decisions.
Because they're a throuple. And no (good) relationship exists without all three of them.
Bonus: There's food symbolism (even more than I mention here). Be still my beating heart.
Mia is gyoza.
Takuzo is curry.
And it's best when the chef (Shinpei) serves both.
#i cannot find the words to express#just how much i adore this show#there is symbolism#there are layers#there are developed characters#there is conflict that is resolved in less than 20 minutes#there is perfect set-up for the next conflict#no notes#just excellent execution thus far#sannin fufu#sannin fuufu#2 husbands 1 wife#two husbands one wife#poly#japanese ql#2h1w

Currently, my favorite potential Forgettable!AU Gaster and Papyrus dynamic:
My personal favorite interpretation of what Papyrus and Gasters relationship (whether it be (grand)father/son, or just mentor and trainee) would be like, is them both being equally as enthusiastic about everything, and in general just matching each others energy 100% 😭 ITS SO AMAZING ITS ALWAYS A TREAT WHEN A COMIC PORTRAYS THEM AS SUCH
“GASTER!!!!” “PAPYRUS!!!” “GUESS WHAT I DID TODAY!!!!” “WHAT DID YOU DO MY SON?????” “I FINISHED THAT PUZZLE I WAS WORKING ON!!!” “OH MY GOD!!! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!! GIVE IT TO ME RIGHT NOW!!!!”
and sans sitting on the couch like: :)
Its just so pure….
SO ANYWHO, taking that dynamic and shoving it into this AU is currently my favorite thing to think about
Then its even better with Wingdings being canonically unnerved by Papyrus, and being (ID IMAGINE) not too thrilled with being in the same room as Gaster for too long.
I wanna make a Seinfeld ass sitcom series of all 3 of them living in an apartment together and also Sans and/or Alphys visits periodically
Gaster and Papyrus are like staring daggers at the newspaper puzzles tryna solve em, and Wingdings comes in all tired with a cup of coffee and as he’s about to greet them they both go “SHH!!!”
They’d kinda be like Spongebob, Patrick, and Squidward
There would be a running gag where they would always find clearly unintentional hidden messages in the horoscope because of the letters that they correspond to in the wingdings font
Gaster would just randomly talk in like jokerman font because he can
LET ME COOK 😭😭😭😭 id go on. And i probably will on my shitpost account
They should all have a group name like- “Papyrus and Co” or “The Three Skeleclones”
#I love them all so much all for very different reasons#seriously debating making a short comic#sans would come in and wingdings thinks hes gonna resolve the conflict#thats been going on the entire episode#but he just makes it so much worse#and wd has to call alphys who fucks up so bad it brings them all closer and ends up resolving everything#LET ME COOK#oh yeah and im writing all of this COMPLETELY ignoring how impossible it would be for any of this to happen#LIKE MAYBE GASTER AND PAPYRUS#OR GASTER AND WINGDINGS#not Papyrus and Wingdings#if that happens in the comics id be shocked#cause as far as I know#dead people cant talk to their replacements#EY IM OPEN TO IT IF IT HAPPENS#i just dunno how

Nanago Fest Day 2 - "Long Train Ride."
This is the last piece I am posting for the fest, and out of all of them I like this one the most. It captures my nostalgia for the series, and the sense of a long journey, winding into a future end.
I had a lot of fun participating, and I hope to keep creating in this fandom for a long time yet.

Be honest, what are your thoughts on appledash? Do you hate it or its more of not a big deal
Not a big deal to me. I like it, I see all the appeals, I just personally like Rarijack more.
#ask me#anon#if you wanna know why i like rarijack more i just think they're a healthier depiction of a domestic and longterm relationship#appledash gives me the vibes of gfs that'll eventually break up#because from s1 to s8 their relationship and communication with each other on serious things never really matures or grows#they were competitive and petty in s1 and they were competitive and petty in s8#arguably worse cuz in that s8 episode their dynamic becomes so toxic they almost cause a student under their care to drown#both of them have a superiority complex that's constantly conflicting with each other and it never really gets resolved#but with rarijack there's a very clear arc of development you can follow in their character#and multiple episodes show how they'll argue and eventually come back together and apologize and communicate and work to better things#you can watch them grow to like and understand each other. in s1 aj scoffs and makes fun of rarity's work in fashion#but in a later season (after some conflict) aj says that she doesn't understand fashion but she knows it means a lot to rarity so it means#a lot to her too. and that's what love is to me. “it didn't mean anything to me until it meant something to you”#it's genuinely really sweet and i'd argue rarijack /feels/ the most romantic out of all the main 6 ships. through arguing they grow closer#which is how it's supposed to be in relationships that last! you argue to work out your interpersonal problems and understand each other#(which is why it's genuinely kinda baffling to me that appledash ended up being canonically married because they never gave me those vibes)#but it really doesn't matter. they're cartoon horses! have fun with them

the thing about bad buddy is that calling it enemies to lovers is not entirely wrong and is a very succinct and easy way to indicate the general plot, but also one of the only moments that the two main characters are actually personally in conflict with each other lasts about four minutes and is expressed mainly through upset shirtless xylophone playing contrasted with a montage of happy moments that features a time there was triumphant shirt-wearing xylophone playing. and then they both say sorry at literally the exact same time
#which as it turns out is EXACTLY how i want my enemies to lovers plots by the way. there is literally no way to beat this#if anything it's. enemies (through circumstance. unwillingly) to lovers (by choice. enthusiastically)#*#bad buddy#bad buddy the series#edit. actually ALSO worth noting that even this brief xylophone-expressed conflict only happens because of their differing views#on how to deal with outside influences on their relationship. which is doing just fine except for those pressures from around them#and then it's RESOLVED by pran going yeah i worry about people finding out but i care about you more#essentially already stating the whole final we can't change the world but that doesn't mean we have to let the world change us thing#and fjdkfj. yeah i'll stop adding tags now. ridiculous how wildly rewatchable a show is that at first glance seems so low on plot

Understanding the cultural context of Korean mother-in-law relationships
Understanding the cultural context of Korean mother-in-law relationships is essential for appreciating the complexities and dynamics within Korean families. In Korean culture, the mother-in-law holds a significant role and influence, shaping the dynamics of the extended family. Cultural traditions, values, and expectations play a crucial role in defining the relationship between a Korean mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law. By gaining insight into this cultural context, individuals can navigate the intricacies of Korean mother-in-law relationships with greater empathy and understanding. In this article, we will delve into the cultural context of Korean mother-in-law relationships, shedding light on the traditions, expectations, and dynamics that shape this significant familial bond.
The importance of understanding the cultural context of Korean mother-in-law relationships
In many cultures, the relationship between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law can be a complex and delicate one. This is especially true in Korean culture, where the mother-in-law holds a significant role in the family hierarchy. Understanding the cultural context of Korean mother-in-law relationships is crucial for building a harmonious and respectful relationship. In this blog post, we will explore the importance of understanding this cultural context, common challenges faced in Korean mother-in-law relationships, and effective strategies for navigating them.
The role of the mother-in-law in Korean culture
In traditional Korean culture, the mother-in-law holds a position of authority and respect within the family. She is seen as the matriarch and is responsible for maintaining the family's traditions and values. This role is deeply rooted in Confucianism, which emphasizes the importance of hierarchy and respect for elders.
The concept of "Han" in Korean culture
Another important aspect of understanding the cultural context of Korean mother-in-law relationships is the concept of "Han." Han is a Korean term that describes a deep-seated feeling of sorrow, resentment, and bitterness. It is often associated with the struggles and hardships faced by the Korean people throughout history. This concept is significant in understanding the behavior and emotions of Korean mothers-in-law, as they may carry a sense of Han towards their daughter-in-law, who is seen as an outsider to the family.
The influence of Confucian values
Confucian values play a significant role in Korean society, and this is reflected in the relationship between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Respect for elders, filial piety, and hierarchy are all important values that shape this relationship. The daughter-in-law is expected to show respect and deference to her mother-in-law, while the mother-in-law is expected to guide and support her daughter-in-law.

Common challenges in Korean mother-in-law relationships
Despite the cultural importance placed on the mother-in-law role, the relationship between a Korean mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is not always smooth sailing. There are several common challenges that can arise, including:
Communication barriers
One of the most significant challenges in Korean mother-in-law relationships is the language barrier. Many Korean mothers-in-law may not speak English, making it difficult for them to communicate with their daughter-in-law, who may not speak Korean. This can lead to misunderstandings and miscommunication, causing tension in the relationship.
Conflicting expectations
Another challenge is the conflicting expectations between the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. The mother-in-law may have certain expectations of how her daughter-in-law should behave and fulfill her role in the family, while the daughter-in-law may have different expectations based on her own cultural background. These conflicting expectations can lead to misunderstandings and disagreements.
Competition for the son's attention
In Korean culture, the son is seen as the most important member of the family, and the mother-in-law may feel a sense of competition for his attention with the daughter-in-law. This can lead to jealousy and tension in the relationship, as the mother-in-law may feel that her son is not spending enough time with her or that the daughter-in-law is taking him away from the family.

Effective strategies for navigating Korean mother-in-law relationships
Navigating a Korean mother-in-law relationship can be challenging, but there are several effective strategies that can help improve the relationship and foster understanding and respect.
Learn the language and culture
One of the best ways to bridge the communication barrier and understand the cultural context of Korean mother-in-law relationships is to learn the language and culture. This shows a genuine effort to understand and connect with the mother-in-law, which can help build a stronger relationship.
Show respect and deference
Respect and deference are crucial in Korean culture, especially towards elders. It is essential to show respect to the mother-in-law and follow traditional customs and etiquette, such as bowing and using formal language. This can help to build a sense of trust and respect in the relationship.
Communicate openly and honestly
Communication is key in any relationship, and it is especially important in Korean mother-in-law relationships. It is essential to communicate openly and honestly, even if there are cultural and language barriers. This can help to address any misunderstandings and build a stronger bond between the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.
Find common ground
Finding common ground can help to bridge the gap between different expectations and values. It can be helpful to find shared interests or activities that both the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law can enjoy together. This can help to build a stronger relationship and create positive memories.
Seek support and guidance
If the challenges in the relationship become too difficult to navigate, it may be helpful to seek support and guidance from a neutral third party, such as a family counselor or therapist. They can provide valuable insights and strategies for improving the relationship and finding common ground.
youtube
Conclusion
In conclusion, understanding the cultural context of Korean mother-in-law relationships is crucial for building a harmonious and respectful relationship. The role of the mother-in-law in Korean culture, the concept of Han, and the influence of Confucian values all play a significant role in shaping this relationship. By learning the language and culture, showing respect and deference, communicating openly and honestly, finding common ground, and seeking support and guidance when needed, it is possible to navigate the challenges and build a strong and positive relationship with a Korean mother-in-law.

Reunion
No one from Françoise Dupont High School expected Marinette Dupain-Cheng to walk into the ten year reunion. As far as they knew, she hadn't been invited. Marinette strode in, with her head held high, and walked right up to Lila Rossi.
"I want to thank you for being such a bitch to me, Lila." Mari smiled, "You changed my life for the better."
"E-Excuse me?" Lila questioned.
'There' no way that forcing her out of school and isolating her gave her an amazing life!'
"That whole shit about telling people what they wanted to hear." Marinette began to explain, "I got really tired of defending myself and being told that I had to 'love you' to make you a better person by the staff. I got tired of being stacked with doing shit for free: all that babysitting I never said I would do, the banners, uniforms, clothes, fundraisers! It was exhausting for a fifteen year old."
Mari smiled, "Once you turned everyone against me, I realized how much free time I had! I signed up for homeschooling and worked extremely hard to graduate early. I even skipped a couple grades. It turned out that my husband's family were huge fans of my designs, so they offered to pay for my schooling if I moved."
"Husband?" Lila asked, concerned, "I didn't realize you had gotten married."
"Yeah." Marinette stated, "We met when I was seventeen and got married when I was nineteen; we have two kids."
Lila looked up and down at her arch-rival. Aside from a growth spurt and a larger chest, Marinette didn't look like she had changed at all. She looked like she was in her early twenties!
"So, thank you for bullying me." Marinette continued with a smile, "It was the best thing that could have happened to me."
Lila stayed silent. She didn't know what to say to that. None of her other victims had ever thanked her. She could feel eyes on them. She knew people were listneing in on their conversation. If she started to make a scene, it wouldn't end well.
"We'll, I'm married too!" Announced Lila.
"Oh, congrats." Marinette smiled, "Where is the lucky person?"
Lila spotted a tall, dark, and handsome man walk into the venue.
"There he is." Lila smiled.
Lila watched as her prey came towards them.
'Just a few more feet and I'll be able grab him. I'm sure he wouldn't mind playing along for a few minutes.'
Lila reached out a hand to grab him, when he put his arm around Marinette's waist and kissed her.
"Hello, Habibiti." he spoke.
"Everything okay without us at the company?" Mari asked.
He sighed, "Yes. It was just Grayson being himself."
Marinette giggled, "I'm sorry, Lila. This is my husband, Damian Wayne. Where were you saying your spouse is?"
Lila plastered a smile on her face, "They just stepped out. They had their cellphone out. It must be an important client. We're both models."
'There's no way she is married to this guy! The sooner she leaves, the sooner I can tell everyone I recognize him as an actor.'
Lila couldn't believe her luck. Adrien had just walked though the doors.
'Marinette was obsessed with him for years! Her fake marriage will be exposed and I can get the guy to stay with me. It doesn’t matter how much she paid him. I'm sure I could pay him more.'
"Marinette!" Adrien shouted.
He was quick to run over and hug her, pulling her away from her husband.
"Agreste, put my wife down." Damian growled.
Adrien turned his attention to Damian and froze.
"Hey, Wayne." He smiled, before looking around, "Where are the kids? Where's my neice and nephew?"
'Kids? They're really married and have kids?'
"They're with my parents, Adrien." Mari answered, "I'm sure they're being fed sugar and will pass out soon."
"So, is that an invite?" the model asked.
"To my parent's place for sweets?" Mrs. Wayne questioned, "You live here! They call me like once a week saying you were at the bakery!"
Adrien chuckled, "No. What about my time with the kids?"
Marinette looked to Damian, who shrugged. She turned to Adrien and shot him a look.
"Tell you what, you can see them in two days." she replied, "A whole day with Uncle Adrien."
'Uncle Adrien?'
"Really?" Adrien cried out, happily.
"But, you got to plan it." she answered.
"Disneyland Paris?" the Agreste heir suggested.
"Fine." Marinette growled, "But if you lose one of my kids, again, I will hurt you."
Adrien glanced towards Damian.
"Adrien, if you think my husband is scarier, just because you have seen his sword collection, you're wrong." Marinette Wayne declared, "You lose one of my children, I will hurt you worse than my husband could ever imagine."
"Got it." Adrien smiled, "Plan awesome VIP experience for the kids!"
"Great!" Mari smiled back.
"Man, you moving really toughened you up." the model winced.
"I punched my brother-in-law the first day there because I thought he grabbed my ass." Mrs. Wayne spoke.
"That is still one of my best days ever. No one has underestimated you since." Damian stated, before kissing her head.
"So, what are you doing here?" Adrien questioned, "Didn't you graduate like two years before us?"
"Oh, I just wanted to thank Lila for bullying me and getting me homeschooled." Marinette smiled, "It sucked that she bullied me, at the time, but if she hadn't done that, I wouldn't be with Damian and we wouldn't have our kids."
Adrien quickly turned to Lila, "Thank you for being a bitch to my best friend. I love my niece and nephew. Marinette, do you think we should get her like a fruit basket or something?"
Mari laughed, "We have dinner plans so we're gonna head out. Enjoy the reunion, Adrien."
Adrien took a step back and eyed Marinette's dress. It was a short black bodycon dress with puffy transparent sleeves. He eyed the black heels, warily.

"Dressed like that?" he questioned.
"Eyes on my wife's face, Agreste." Damian growled.
Adrien rolled his eyes, "She's all yours. I don't think I've ever seen you dressed like this, is all. You think you'll be able to take care of the kids dressed like that?"
Marinette answered, "They are staying with my parents tonight." before walking away.
Adrien watched as Damian placed his hand at Marinette's waist, likely making sure she didn't fall in those heels.
Adrien smiled, evilly, "Hey, Marinette!"
The designer turned to look back at her friend.
"I want another neice or nephew!" he shouted.
Marinette's face morphed from shock to embarassment, before she quickly glared at her best friend. She squeaked as she was quickly lifted into her husband's arms.
"Damian, you put me down!" she snapped at him.
"No." her husband responded.
"Why not?" she growled.
"Adrien won't get his wish if you're in jail for harming him." Damian smirked.
Marinette buried her face in her husband's chest and remained silent.
Adrien laughed as Marinette was carried out of the reunion. Nino walked up to him, confused.
"You….You kept in touch with Mari?" he questioned.
"Of course!" Adrien smiled, brightly, "I helped her with her math sometimes and she talks with Father about designing. She's my best friend."
"Designs?" Rose asked.
"Marinette is a fashion designer in the states." he answered, "Her husband's family runs an international company. She occasionally designs for their clothing line, but they do other stuff, too. Marinette has an office in their building, but she mostly does custom work. I think last year someone asked for a wedding dress. It was around $25,000."
"Seriously?" Alya asked, full of surprise.
"Oh yeah!" Adrien smiled, "She's an amazing deisgner. A lot of her dresses and suits have been coming out on runways and red carpet events."
"You're forgetting that she bullied Lila!" cried Sabrina, "She was mean to her! How can you be friends with her?"
"Actually, it was the other way around." Adrien stated, "Lila once claimed that Mari pushed her, after school, so hard that she injured her knee and was forced to walk home with a limp. I tried to tell you that Marinette couldn't have done it; Marinette had been with me the day before. You told me I was just confused. You never let me speak. You just decided Lila was right."
The class just stared at him.
'Had they really done that? Had they ignored Adrien when he tried to defend Marinette?'
"You never listened to me or Marinette when we told you about Lila being a lying bitch." he shrugged.
"But you're married!" Kim shouted, "How can you choose Marinette over a model?"
"I didn't. I'm bi and dating a male model from my father's company." Adrien announced, "Lila was fired when she was sixteen. Wasn't Lila held back a grade? Why is she even here? You didn't graduate with us or even from this school."
"It was a computer error!" Max spoke up, "Lila said that-
Adrien rolled his eyes, "Her mother called Natalie and declared she was owed a meeting with my father. She said we ruined Lila's future by forcing her to model. She threatened to sue the Gabriel brand until we showed her the 'signatures' on the forms. Turns out, Lila forged those so her mother's hands were tied. Her mother started shouting how she should send her to boot camp, back in Italy, as the left the house."
One by one they turned to look at Lila.
"i-I wanted to see everyone." she whispered, weakly, "I missed my friends."
"Thank for stopping by." Adrien stated, "You can leave now."
"Adrikins!" Chloe shouted.
"Chloe!" Adrien called back, "I missed you. We loved that spa treatment. You're the best!"
Chloe smiled and pulled Adrien away from the rest of the group to socialize with the other students.
"You still talk to that trash?" they heard Chloe ask.
"Rossi?" Adrien questioned, "Nah. You missed Marinette by a couple minutes. She came here and thanked Lila for being a raging bitch. The rest of them were still trying to kiss ass."
"The queen, herself, and I missed it." the Bourgeois heiress teased.
"Date night." Adrien quipped, "She brought Damian and the demon brigade."
"I missed the little ones?" she screeched.
Adrien laughed, "They're with her parents. Better book your time with them before they leave again. Oh, and Mari is already threatening bodily harm if anything happens to them."
"You lost one last time!" Chloe cried.
"I said I was sorry!" Adrien rebutted.
Chloe scoffed, "You're lucky you didn't die that day."
"I know." Adrien sighed, "Would it be weird if I put them on one of those kid leashes? I feel like they would fuck with me and purposely try to get lost to see me sweat, again. Honestly, I don't know if it's a mini Damian or mini Marinette. Don't get me wrong, Damian is frightening and he could probably work in the CIA torture room, but seeing Marinette pissed off, scares the living crap out of me. She's creative and could probably make something specifically to hurt me."
Chloe looked up from her phone, "I bought you the leashes. They'll be here tomorrow. You're welcome."
"Chloe." Adrien replied, "You didn't answer me."
"I was frenemies with her for years, Adrikins." Chloe answered, "Mari will find some way to hurt you and she wouldn't need her godly husband to do it. You have every right to fear for your life for pissing her off. Look at what happened to the idiot brigade: they believed a liar and bullied her. None of their dreams came true. The Waynes own half the companies those idiots wanted to work for. I wouldn't put it past Damian to rat those losers out to his family and have them blacklisted. You have seen how overprotective he is of their kids; he's the same way with her."
"True." Adrine sighed, "He still yells at me when I hug her."
"Idiot." Chloe declared, rolling her eyes.
The class looked at each other before pulling out their phones. They looked up Marinette and the Wayne family. The class shifted nervously as they realized what Chloe had said was true. The Waynes and Marinette owned their jobs. They were all comfortable with their jobs, but they weren't anything to brag about. They had all wanted bigger and better things at thirteen.
None of them were the doctors, rock stars, DJs, journalists, environmentalists, or the Olympians they thought they would be. They worked desk jobs or became something close to what they wanted. Lila knew she would never model again when Gabriel told her that he was going to blacklist her. The Waynes owned everything from food to biolabs to steel to shipbuilding and aerospace. Lila silently left the reunion as everyone came to terms that their dreams ended long ago.
