Heyy just got the urge to write yk🌚
Tumblr media
You were known for being the “shy”quiet A+ girl, work always turned in on time never failed to impress your teacher you would always make 80-100’s without fail everytime. Whenever your teacher asked the class to take notes or study your always the only one who listens. You had friends but not like those big friend groups just like 5-6 people max.
It was your last period of the day, and boy were you booked. You did little tutorials throughout the day 2 before school, maybe like 2-4 people during your break mid day and 1-2 people after school. Did you charge for it…hell yeah shit ain’t free nowadays. You make about 50-100 on good days but mostly 40-60 on regular days.
“Are you ever gonna lose your virginity?” one of your friends said.
“Uhm…I don’t know yet, I still haven’t decided”you said quietly writing in your notebook. “Girl there’s this cute boy in your his name is like Baki Hanma something like that yall would look cute together and I see the glances he gives to you from across the classroom.” your other friend teasing you, “Shut up! He probably does that to every girl he sees you don’t know that he’s one of the bad kids” shuffling in your backpack for your pink Ipad, you had a online tutoring business so people would go to your instagram clicking the link in your bio (pause) to make bookings to be tutored and see your schedule. You went to your website seeing the requests you had for tomorrow evening you clicked to see who booked and guess who it was. Yeah that’s right the good ole Baki hanma. Your jaw dropped and your friends were concerned rushing to look at your ipad. “Oh hell yeah! Girl this is your chance get you a man’s maybe even lose your virginity!!”.
Embarrassment was covered all over your face as you quickly closed your ipad case and shoved it in your backpack, “The bell rings in 2 minutes i’m just gonna head to class early” rushing out the library little black shoes tapping on the tile. It was the next day you had your pink skirt on with a cute graphic tee and knu skool vans with your braids in 2 cute high ponytails and lipgloss with your bracelets on. It was 3rd period and you had a class with Baki and 1 of your friends. Baki was always into trouble that’s why you didn’t want to fool around with him or be by him but the smell of his dior perfume and his cute fresh outfits everyday with his curly hair (the outfit not the dude) but today you were partnered up with him sense your friend wasn’t there and his other friend was in trouble. You were gonna beat your friends ass when you saw them, baki sat in the back so of course your teacher asked for you to go in the back with him.
You sighed as your made your way back head down, “Don’t be like that Mamas i’m not gon bite” You looked at him with a dirty look sitting down and paying attention to the teacher. The strong smell of his perfume he wore everyday and this baggy designer pants oh boy he was finer than a mf. The teacher gave you guys free time before the bell rang which was in the next 25 minutes so everyone was talking so you packed your stuff up getting ready to move back to your original seat you got up before you got dragged down roughly by your skirt revealing a bit of your hot pink laced panties.
“Hey! What the fuck?!” pulling up your skirt sitting still.
“Where you think ya going?” baki said looking at your pulling up your skirt.
“I’m going back to my fucking seat damn.” getting up once again.
“Hey, sit down.” It was something about the way he said it that made your body automatically sit back down.
“Good.” he scooted your chair closer “why you always tryna run or avoid me everytime you see me?” hooded eyes looking at you “Because your a trouble maker and annoying.” he chuckled at your response “So you saw my request for tutoring after this period right ma?” “Yes I did.” rolling your eyes, “Good. I didn’t know a little nerd like you wore lace panties that’s cute.” “S-shut up baki your so weird”
You got up as the bell rang, “We’re both going to the both place so we might aswell walk together” he said wrapping his arm around your waist. “Get the hell off of me” walking faster as you made your way towards the library. It was empty so you made your way to the back where you normally had your sessions. “You have a fatass ya know that right?!” baki said behind you. You quickly pull your skirt down pulling out a chair to sit in. “Sit down and let’s get this over with.” “Damn ma calm down.” He said pulling a seat right next to you pulling you closer to him once again. “What do you need help with?” looking at him annoyed. “Math homework” Okay let me see. As you were explaining and helping him he would trail his hands on your thighs squeezing the thickness everytime you tried to pull him off you failed so you just dealt with it.
He would look at your plump glossy lips while caressing your thigh his hands would slowly go further right next to your inner thigh hands all up in your skirt if he kept going further he would end up touching your hot core (i forgot the other saying) “It so warm up here ma.” “S-shut up.” As you were almost done he picked you placing you on his lap, “Baki no! Not here and never” you said trying to get up. “If you keep squirming like that your gonna have a bigger problem to fix ma.” you quickly sat still sighing plump ass sitting directly on his groin.
As you were reviewing the stuff you taught him, he would play with your pantie straps (idk😭) twirling them around his finger squeezing your hips. “Well sessions up” You said hopping off. “Already??” he said concerned. “Yes baki already.” Your skirt was rised up revealing your panties and your plump ass you finished putting your stuff up before you left baki gave you a 100 dollar bill. “It was only 20?!” you said confused “Yeah I know but I what wanted to thank you for the tutoring and something else.” He reached behind your gripping the thickness of your ass and pulling your skirt down before walking away. After all of that you got home ate and took your shower your were laying in your bed scrolling on your phone until you got a random text
“Hey mamas”
“Who’s this?”
Who yall think it is?

[EN] Video Game Writing Resources!
Hello! My name is Andrea--I have been writing for games since 2018, and even worked as a writer at Firaxis Games from 2022 until April of 2023. So, I knew a few things about narrative design--but what the fuck is it? Recently, I gave a talk about the fundamentals and history of the field of narrative design. In Spanish. So, let's talk about it in English--the "what," "why," "how," "when," and "who," of narrative design! What is narrative design? Narrative design is not just writing--it's a huge part of it, but designing a narrative system involves implementing narrative content into the build of the game. So there is a technical learning curve to it. Personally, I watched and obtained certifications in Unreal Engine 5 and Unity in order to be aware of the limitations of each engine. I used the free trial of LinkedIn Learning, but courses about this engine are available in these websites: - https://platzi.com/ - https://www.arkde.com/ - https://www.domestika.org/?query=unity - https://www.coursera.org/ Why do we need narrative design? In order to create an interactive story that the player feels a part of, narrative designers are mandatory. It's not a responsibility that can be placed on other designers (then we would be entering crunch territory) rather someone who specifically specializes in both creative writing and game design is needed to explain within the context of the game's story why the mechanics work in a certain way. Imagine if a Telltale game did not have dialogue, for example--what would we be left with? Or if The Last Of Us did not convey a narrative through its environments.
Narrative designers are needed so that all of the departments are in sync and understand the story that they are trying to tell. For example, if a game takes place in a haunted house that was abandoned, we need all hands on deck. The narrative designer can explain to the environment artists why there are so many holes in the living room--perhaps the last tenants of the house were a rowdy bunch. Or, they can tell the sound designers which planks of wood are the most rotten and need a loud sound effect to highlight how it has been abandoned. How do I become a narrative designer? There is no one way to become a narrative designer. Some people start in QA and transition into the field, I have also witnessed engineers and doctors wanting to get into narrative design. I do recommend having the following (at least): - A passion for storytelling. - Deep understanding of the mechanics of the game and the player experience. - Communication skills are incredibly important--can you describe your story in a concise way to your peers in a Confluence page?
Documentation skills are also a massive plus.
Very basic understanding of game engines and limitations. You don't have to be a computer science major, but know what your requests will entail. If you have an idea of a cutscene, can the engine handle it? Will the animators have enough time? Is it within scope?
If you can, attend game jams! They are an amazing way to network with amazing people and get a feel of what the game production pipeline is like.
Additionally, I highly recommend the following resources: First, the free resources! ~It's free real estate~
Look up Twinery tutorials. (https://twinery.org/) Not only is it free, but you can use it on your browser. More importantly, you will learn about branching narratives and can create your own games within a few minutes--the interface, though it requires a bit of coding, is incredibly easy to use and there are a lot of tutorials available online.
Download Ren'Py (https://www.renpy.org/) and watch tutorials. It's free, and there is a huge community of visual novel developers who may need help with narrative designers, writers, editors and even translators. An amazing resource that a colleague shared was this Discord with visual novel developers--if you have an idea, feel free to connect with artists and voice actors here! https://discord.gg/nW5yn4FE
Network, network, network! Follow narrative design and game writer groups on Discord, Facebook and even LinkedIn. -- An amazing convention that is online, free and accessible regarding narrative design is LudoNarraCon.
If you go to itch.io you will see a list of game jams that you can attend to for free! Some game jams that I have attended and had a positive experience are the following: - Woman Game Jam. I encourage folks from marginalized genders to attend this game jam, as we have a large pool of mentors willing to help in every single discipline at any time due to the global nature of it. It is a safe and inclusive space for women and nonbinary folx who want to get into the gaming industry! - Global Game Jam. Self explanatory, it has some in-person opportunities but you can also attend remotely. - Greenlight Jam. Do you have an idea that can not be done in only 48 hours? The Greenlight Jam is amazing, as it lasts four weeks--which allows narrative designers to develop complex narrative systems and even record voice lines for a more complex project. Side Note: Even though most game jams have a time limit, I do encourage narrative designers to develop and polish the prototypes and levels created during game jams to have portfolios and writing samples that stand out!
Work With Indies is a job site that publishes job opportunities--including ones in writing and narrative design. Additionally, their Discord has some networking events with writers so you can connect with them.
Other websites that not only publish jobs but include networking events are Hitmarker.net (this is their Discord), IndieGameAcademy (link to Discord),
Newsletters! A lot of experienced game writers have newsletters dedicated to the craft, to name a few that I highly recommend: -- Greg Buchanan's newsletter. Rounds up game writing news every Tuesday, and includes job opportunities. -- Bright Whitney's newsletter. A studio founder with amazing insights regarding game design and thoughtful narrative, Whitney's threads are extremely insightful. -- Susan O'Connor's blog on The Narrative Department. In addition to providing free knowledge regarding world building, narrative design, game writing and other specifics of the craft Susan interviews industry professionals and alumni who offer testimonials that have amazing advice. -- GDC talks about narrative design. Though I recommend the GDC vault as well in the next section, I highly recommend the GDC talks regarding not only narrative design but the development of your favorite titles!
Now, for resources that may not be free--but I highly recommend, as someone who used them first hand. - The Narrative Department. This post is not sponsored by them at all, however it is rare to find an instructor as kind and hard-working as Susan O'Connor who has been a narrative designer in historic AAA, AA and independent titles. Known for her contributions in Tomb Raider, Batman: The Enemy Within, and BioShock to name a few (imdb is: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1897248/) her Game Writing Masterclass offers a certification in everything related to game writing. A few subjects she touches on are: -- Characters and how to make them compelling. -- Barks and ambience writing. -- Dialogue, backstories and scripts. -- How to work with other departments. And more! Additionally, you would obtain access to a huge alumni network full of game writing professionals working in independent, AA and AAA studios! Not to mention that all of the assignments completed in the class will look amazing in a portfolio as game writing samples. - GDC Vault. Though I have an opinion on the price tag of GDC tickets and the vault, I would definitely include it as it has resources from several studios, writers, narrative designers and more! When was narrative design formed? When can I become a narrative designer?
That's a wonderful question. Narrative design, as a term, was first used around the 90s but became more established between the 2000s and 2010s. So, although the field is relatively new, and there are not a lot educational resources available, consider yourself part of an innovative field that is exponentially growing! Recently, a game developer asked when was the best time to keep an eye out for job openings. And a harsh truth about the gaming industry is that it is extremely volatile--layoffs, downsizings and startups rise and fall. This is not meant to deter anyone from pursuing a career in narrative design, but rather I am including it for the sake of transparency. We cannot predict when a studio is going to layoff their employees, or when they cancel unannounced projects. Unlike most industries where we know for a fact that recruiters keep a sharp eye for candidates in Q1 and Q3, a piece of advice I received from a mentor of mine was to try to predict when projects are going to need more stories. There's the release of a game, and then there is the addition of additional narrative content--and for this, they will more than likely need associate/entry/junior level narrative designers, writers and quest designers. But--this is related to searching for a job as a narrative designer, and I can write a novel about that (and will edit this article to redirect folx into it.) So, keep an eye out for huge game announcements. Then, cater your resume to what the studio is looking for in a narrative designer. Now, to finish off this article: Who is a narrative designer? If you have a passion for storytelling and games, and have participated in game jams, congratulations you are a wonderful narrative designer! Make sure you always include that you are a narrative designer, and not an aspiring narrative designer--it makes you stand out amongst applicants. That's all I have for now--feel free to interact, comment and share! Let me know if I missed something and I will be sure to add it.

So I'm playing Tribe Nine: Initial thoughts
Tumblr media
The latest release from Kazutaka Kodaka/Kotaru Uchikoshi's joint venture, TooKyo Games, is here on mobile devices and Steam. And it's a top-down RPG with retro sprites that transitions into an third-person action system during combat encounters. It also has 3D-rendered Komatsuzaki-style character portraits during dialogue/story segments.
Tumblr media
My initial thoughts:
"XB" baseball isn't totally in the past after all. Despite the official website talking about how XB has been left behind in favor of "XG," you'll find yourself in the middle of an "XB" match after about an hour of play. And it's tutoralized in a way that makes it clear this will be some kind of recurring mechanic. But if you're expecting actual sports-style gameplay... don't. DON'T expect that.
Tumblr media
Baseball matches are basically Danganronpa/Rain Code-style debates/conversations. You (as either pitcher or batter) and your opponent (in the opposite position) exchange dialogue before each pitch. The deciding moment comes when your opponent says something that appears as a massive wall of 3D-rendered text. To throw the best pitch or swing the bat well at the pitch, you have to pick a good response to the opponent's text by moving your "aim" around a grid to see different response. Mind you, during the first matchup, you'll only have ONE choice of response... but it's the tutorial. You'll have more options later on. And obviously, I LOVE to see this.
Tumblr media
The third-person action battles are pretty intense. You really have to get good at determining when you can execute light or strong attacks (the latter taking longer to "wind up"), the latter being necessary to build up meters to execute stronger "ultimate" moves that will do the REAL damage. Enemies are relentless, requiring a lot of dodges and counters. It's well-designed, don't get me wrong. But for someone like me who isn't very experienced in playing action games on a touchscreen, it can feel pretty hard to juggle at times. So although I suppose this is impressive for a mobile game, but I don't personally love handling such intense action on mobile...
The story plays up the life-or-death stakes pretty early on. If you're worried you won't see characters dying in this thing, you can worry no longer; people are definitely going to die. We meet AND lose some members of our crew before "Chapter 1" even starts! But I guess we'll see how often that will occur.
Tumblr media
Don't worry, though; you can still play as dead characters. You're not going to lose a character whose levels you built up just because the story declared them dead. This is explained by giving you access to "holographic" incarnations of the characters. They won't participate in story sequences anymore if they're dead, but they are still controllable on the RPG-style map or in third-person combat. This same excuse also allows you to have people in your party that aren't physically supposed to be present during that par of the story.
The Steam version seems to run like crap right now? I've considered transferring my save file over from my iOS version to my Steam Deck so I can use the button-based controls there. But upon booting up the Steam incarnation of the game, it quickly becomes clear that it's full of freezes and slowdown, so it might not be worth the hassle. Seems like it's not very well-optimized, which might explain why it's currently getting such negative reviews. However, they've already pushed out like four updates in the 48 hours since launch... so hopefully this is going to get cleared up quickly.
There's a gacha element, but it's not clear how much it matters. You can only play with a party of three characters at a time, and you're gifted three to use as soon as you can have a full party. You can use the "Enigma Entity" you collect throughout the game to "pull" for support cards you can equip to your lead trio, OR for all-new characaters. The former is appreciated since equipping these cards can grant different bonuses/benefits in combat... but the latter always unlock at Level 1 when you get them. So that's a major disincentive EVER using characters beyond the starting trio... unless we eventually are given some way to rapid-level them?
This game seems like it's set up to have a distinct ending to its main story. That wouldn't be a first for mobile RPGs, of course... as someone who played Fate/Grand Order and Magia Record before this, I've seen the main narratives conclude while the devs try to keep us engaged via side stories or by creating in-game sequel narratives. But time will tell whether we'll see some kind of extension on Tribe Nine. Perhaps more importantly, how much of the main narrative is currently even available... ?

Alix's Reference Sheet and Description:
Tumblr media
What happens if you mix an upbeat makeup artist with a drill sergeant persona? You get Alix! Alix learned pretty early in life to pull herself by her bootstraps if she wanted someone to go her way.
This was especially true since she is the youngest of four siblings, the other three not exactly embodying the responsible brother archetype that she needed when their parents are busy. Something that happens a lot, especially if one parent is a known fashion designer, and the other is a news anchor.
Currently spending a gap year before going to college, she's currently in charge of keeping tabs of the performers that rent the theater she's in, even going a step further by offering to get involved with the directing herself. When that happens, that's when she pulls out her whistle and use her drill sergeant voice.
Needless to say, she's a no-nonsense girl with the skills to back it up.
She's not opposed to building her portfolio outside of the theater either, playing a part in the makeup for the New Years parade. Her skills vary from traditional theater, to realistic gore. Her skills have gotten so good, she even has a following for her makeup tutorials and transformation videos.
Hairstyling is another thing she's interested in, but she finds it a bit more difficult. She's interested in cosmetic chemistry itself, but one would know better than to leave Alix of all people in a lab. That girl exists to ignore lab safety procedures.
Being part fox spirit, Alix is given more leeway when it comes to illusions and glamour, not being as limited compared to the average demon. This allows her to experiment with looks without needing to spend hours on herself for just another normal day.
It's because of this that people aren't surprised to see her suddenly having different hair colors and such, especially looks that she keeps on theme to the play she was directing that day. She doesn't stop at that either, as she likes to dress in accordance to the theme of the play.
Outside of work, she's much more casual, not afraid to sneak in some tea she overheard from different people. Alix has connections, and the gossip that comes with it. Despite being aroace herself, she takes a bit from one of her parents' matchmaking skills, able to successfully set people up with each other and gaining the title of Megapolis' Cupid.
If she's not planning on setting someone up with a date, she's setting someone up for a job. Having the connections she has made her keep an eye out for any underappreciated talent. Contrary to popular belief however, she is no socialite.
With all of this in mind, it's easy to get intimidated by her. But in reality, she's more approachable and pleasant to be around when one gets to know her better outside of work or reputation.
But with all that said, there is one other side of Alix that shows up the most during her free time. Being a history buff for different ancient groups, cults, and organizations, Alix found herself as one of the users of a website dedicated to the mysteries surrounding Megapolis. It was through this website that a certain water hero took an interest in her findings.

Coding Study Plan!
Tumblr media
I've enjoyed learning coding at a casual pace, but I'm ready to really buckle in and focus on moving forward to build my skills. SO, here is my plan:
Routine
Learn/practice coding at least 45 minutes per week day, alternating between FreeCodeCamp, web accessibility lessons, and personal projects. I aim to post about my progress at least once per week.
I plan to solidify my HTML/CSS, move onto JavaScript soon, and then decide where to go after that :)
Details and resources under the jump!
Coding Lessons
FreeCodeCamp: Great, project-based way to learn coding!
I'm almost done with the Responsive Web Design course, which covers HTML/CSS. I have enjoyed this way more than other tutorial methods I have tried before. Instead of providing a lesson with a separate activity afterwards, the project is the lesson, and you immediately use the coding and see the direct results. Learning by doing!
I'm excited to start on the JavaScript course soon!
Web Accessibility
Here are some free resources I'll use to study web accessibility:
Wix's Web Accessibility Course (thanks to @xiacodes for posting about this!)
Altogether, the videos for the lesson total about 1hr 15 mins.
This will prepare me to take the Accessibility Specialist Certification Exam which provides a fun certificate for passing~
Accessibility Resource List from @accessibleaesthetics
Includes accessibility info that is relevant for everyone, as well as more specific knowledge for programmers, bloggers, writers, artists, and roleplayers.
I'm always learning from @accessibleaesthetics's posts! please give them a follow to learn accessibility during your casual Tumblring :)
Web Accessibility Twitch Stream with Africa Kenyah, hosted by @kitkatcodes
1hr 30 mins, can't wait to watch!
Africa Kenyah is a software engineer, accessibility specialist, and yoga teacher. Visit her website here!
