The first look at my game! We're starting another project now but I'm definitely going to develop this in the future. Admittedly, it is not very long and doesn't look like I've put too much work into it but that's because it took so long to just get the tile map.

THE KINGDOM OF THE NORTH & THE GOLDEN EMPIRE: A list of wanted connections for people of YiTish origin in the North

The Golden Empire of Yi Ti is currently broken into eight major regions and the island of Leng, which is why some have looked outside their own borders for opportunities to grow and thrive. For many generations, YiTish people have travelled to other nations, with a particularly tight bond having formed with the Westerosi kingdom of the North.

For many years the kingdom of the North has embraced YiTish nobles, merchants, artisans and sages. The North’s visionary king, Owen Stark, has been working on creating a new realm unlike that of his predecessors, expanding on and strengthening bonds that have existed for so long. In recent time, this has fostered trade as well as cultural and intellectual exchange between the two nations.

NOTE: Houses, characters, plots, etc. are open to change and discussion. What is non-negotiable is the heritage of these characters, please note the FCs for these roles must have East Asian or Southeast Asian heritage.

WANTED CONNECTIONS listed below

HOUSE GREENLEAF Many generations ago, this house was founded by a YiTish immigrant who was later knighted and titled for his loyalty and service to the North. The YiTish lord changed his surname (Luye, YiTish for “green leaves”) to the common tongue “Greenleaf”. The late Rhydian Mormont was married to Yanlin, a daughter of House Greenleaf, also deceased along with thier daughters Leyana and Olira.

FROM THE REGION OF WAN This is one of the regions that have broken fully with the rule of the God-Emperor in Yin, although they aren’t officially an independent region like the island of Leng just yet. Their dedication to commerce with other lands and their amicable bond with their neighboring region of Shizi has enabled them to be as self-sufficient as they wish and not be forced to rely on the God-Emperor’s support. They have a strong bond with the regions of Ren and Xing as well, supporting them in their trade routes. This region isn’t ruled by a feudal lord but by a system of guilds, with each electing a member to represente them (merchants, sailors, tailors, healers, etc.) in periodic gatherings. People who have travelled to the Westerosi kingdom of the North have done so to escape the tensions in Yi Ti, encouraged by the promise of a better life in a kingdom that has welcomed them for many years.

FROM THE REGION OF XING It is often said that the people of Yi Ti learned how to decipher the language of the stars from the Lion of Night and the Maiden-Made-of-Light, who taught them how to interpret both light and darkness, and who communicated their will through constellations as well as the rest of the secrets of the night sky. A colossal astronomy tower was built and a city began to grow around it, which is today known as the city of Xing, one of the oldest populated regions in all of Yi Ti. In time, more seekers of knowledge and wisdom were drawn to the region of Xing to learn the secrets of the universe. With time, and with people from other places travelling there, the exchange of knowledge was immense, culminating in a variety of schools being built all across the region for students to learn astronomy, engineering, botany, amongst many other branches of study. Nowadays the city of Xing in particular is considered a hub for sages (the equivalent of Westerosi maesters) as well as scholars, and it welcomes people from foreign lands to learn there.

FROM THE REGION OF SHIZI This region of Yi Ti mostly consists of forests and farmlands, which is why the Shizii people have developed most efficient and ingenious methods for agriculture. They have particularly good ties to the region of Wan and have a fruitful trading relationship with its people as well as with the regions of Xing and Ren. They are ruled by a feudal lord of the Qian family that resides in Shizi, which is often called the Jade City due to its lush vegetation and vast flora as well as the characteristic green clothing of their ruling family, who are called the start of the Jade dynasty by those who reject the God-Emperor’s rule. The ruling lord of Shizi represents the biggest threat to the God-Emperor’s rule, since they descend from the same bloodline and too many people believe he is rightfully descended from the Lion of Night and the Maiden-Made-of-Light, as all past YiTish emperors, thus it is believed he has a rightful claim to become the new God-Emperor. Assassination attempts from the lord in Shizi to the God-Emperor and vice versa have taken place a number of times. However, rather than overthrowing the current God-Emperor, the Qian family aims to break from Yi Ti and begin a new empire along with the people of Wan.

open prince and princesses of house stark, two of each role is up for grabs. do they agree with owen’s drastic decisions in shaping the north, such as dismissing the maesters and forcing the night’s watch to bend the knee to him?

open lords and ladies of house bolton, including a position of master of whispers upon the council of king owen stark. in terms of background, these guys have had it rough - domeric was recently revealed as a bastard using the bolton name all along, and their border wars with the manderlys have resulted in house manderly obtaining the title of ‘dukes’ making them a step above the boltons socially. one word? revenge.

open lord karstark of karhold; younger brother of lord brandon karstark. he would have recently dealt with the death of his little sister sarra at the hands of wildlings, as well as returning from an internal war when ironborn pirates and thenns that attempted to take northern land. house karstark has also become dukes.

open lord and lady of house manderly of white harbor: siblings to lord nasir and lady manal manderly. their house has had the social improvement recently, though they are in charge of protecting the faith of the seven in the north. do they agree with nasir’s decision to remain loyal to the starry sept of oldtown, or do they believe tyland lannister has a point in centralising the faith? (note: it is expected this character would have a name of arabic/islamic origin and be a black fc)

open lords and ladies of house mormont of bear isle: their ruling lord rhydian mormont recently died as a result of a wildling attack. they also would have been involved in the war against the ironborn and the thenns. it is a great opportunity to explore a character trying to step into a responsibility they never thought they would have to, admist dealing with grief.

My URL is an attempt to be Clever and cover many bases at once. Each muse comes with a “pun” of sorts that can play into the main url. Nicholas, Noel, and Daniel are the primary muses, with the others available upon request.

Age of Sail ;; Noel Thomas Mercer - Modern England. (1648-Present).

Born in the middle of the seventeenth century he, was born into the latest era in which a peasant boy could hope to ascend to a gentleman’s title – with the only route of option being that of becoming an officer in the Royal Navy. While born a human, the lack of one of England’s representatives tolled on the Kingdom and required a new one step into Nicholas’ place. Having proven himself to be what constitutes an ideal Englishman - loyal, gritty, fiercely devoted to his King and Country - Noel was granted the life of an Immortal. And he complains about every moment of it.

Age of (chain) Mail ;; Sir Nicholas William Grey - Medieval England/Plantagenet England (1048-1514)

Born in the late 10th century, he came to represent the Kingdom of England under the guidance of the royal family Plantagenet. He served as a personal, immortal bodyguard and advisor to the Kings of England throughout the medieval era until the aftermath of the War of the Roses & the rise of Tudor England left him so disconnected from his kingdom that he could no longer serve. Some say he still haunts the Tower of London to this day, but modern sightings are incredibly rare.

Age of Rail ;; Daniel Aleksander King Hill  Fitzroy - Manhattan/New York/The United States of America (1627-Present)

Born and soon orphaned in the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam in the early days of its conception, adopted into the British Empire, he learned and grew with the fledgling colony and developed a right love of the ideas of equality and fairness. He was loyal to the crown and fought desperately to keep order within the colony, to stamp out the Rebellion. However, the will of the People won out, and Daniel found himself growing ever prouder of his People as time went by. America itself went through many tests in its time, questioning what was right and what was fair, the struggle of embodying an entire nation is not an easy task, but the weight has fallen upon his shoulders.

Summary: The signs were subtle at first; holding (Y/n)’s hand a little bit harder, walking a little bit closer, constant glaring. Once it started evolving, (Y/n) was left to wonder why Rhydian got jealous so easily. 

Author’s Note: I swear I only write fluff for this fandom and it almost never has to do with the actual plot of the show. I hate the ending of this, by the way.

“Rhydian,” I whispered, holding back a laugh.

“Yeah,” he asked.

 “If you hold my hand any tighter, you’re going to break it,” I looked at our interlocked hands. 

Rhydian followed my gaze. His grip immediately loosened when he saw them. 

“I’m sorry,” he mumbled.

“It’s alright,” I nodded, looking back towards the front of the room. 

A few moments later, I felt Rhydian’s grip on my hand tighten again. I sighed and looked at him, only to see him glaring straight ahead. I furrowed my eyebrows, looking over his shoulder to see Jimmy staring at me.

When he spotted me, he waved at me with a smirk, not even bothering to look away. I rolled my eyes and turned away from him. 

“Don’t mind Jimmy,” I whispered to Rhydian. “He’s just being a jerk.”

“He’s staring.”

“Because he doesn’t understand basic boundaries. Please don’t worry about it.”

“Okay,” he grumbled. 

We were silent for the rest of the lesson. Whenever I felt Rhydian hold my hand tighter, I’d just rubbed my thumb along the side of his hand. I didn’t want to say this was normal but... Jimmy had a special way of getting under Rhydian’s skin. 

“Come on,” I said after class was dismissed. Rhydian pulled his hand from mine and started walking away. “Rhydian...”

I watched for a moment as he followed Jimmy out before shoving through the group, trying to stop him. Maddy, Tom, and Shannon noticed, following quickly behind me. I put a hand over my mouth when I saw Rhydian jump on Jimmy.

“Rhydian,” I shouted, sprinting over and kneeling by where he was.

I pushed on his chest with my hand. He stopped where he was, staring at me. There was an almost immediate look of regret on his face.

“Get up,” I said quietly, dragging him to his feet and to the darkroom. The other three were right behind us. I stopped in the doorway, “Buy us some time.”

They all nodded and I shut the door. I looked over at Rhydian, who almost looked scared. 

“What just happened,” I asked.

“He... He was staring,” Rhydian replied. “I didn’t like it.”

“Yeah, that’s happened before,” I said. “You’ve gripped my hand, you’ve glared, you’ve moved your bookbag in front of me so Jimmy couldn’t see. You’ve never attacked someone over that.”

“I know,” he looked down. 

I sighed, walking forward and grabbing his hands. He looked up to make eye contact with me.

“What happened,” I asked again. 

“It just got to me so much,” Rhydian leaned his forehead against mine. “You’re part of my pack now... and... I love you.”

“Really,” I mumbled, my eyes wide as I pulled back just a little bit. He nodded. I jumped and hugged him. Rhydian laughed at my reaction, hugging me back. “I love you too.”

He moved back and kissed me softly. I smiled into the kiss before pulling away. The door behind me opened slowly. We both looked over to see Shannon.

“Jeffries needs to see Rhydian as soon as he calms down,” she said awkwardly. 

“I don’t know how to explain this,” Rhydian replied awkwardly.

“Good luck,” I chuckled. He looked at me in shock. “I’m not gonna do any better.”

“I’ll see you later,” he kissed my head and I nodded at him. Shannon looked at me.

“What are you so smiley about,” she asked after he had left. 

“Nothing,” I shook my head and walked out with her. Maddy and Tom were standing outside. “Do you think Rhydian’s gonna be alright?”

“He’s gotten out of this before, he’ll do it again,” Maddy said. 

“Come on, we gotta get to class before we end up in trouble too,” Shannon added, pushing Maddy and me by our backs. 

“You two are cute, by the way,” Maddy added.

“Dang super hearing,” I chuckled, walking into my next class.

I knew that Rhydian was going to be a bit protective. I understood that. I just didn’t want him to get himself in trouble in order to do that. There was no reason for him to end up with bad consequences because of someone trying to be a jerk. Maybe keeping him out of trouble was my own version of being protective.

17. Where were they born?

Mariko was born in an unnamed farming/fishing village in the northern region of Japan. The village was nestled amidst a valley, at the feet of some fairly vicious mountains; mountains that the locals deemed were haunted by numerous Japanese folklore demons; thus, they kept shrines at the entrances to the uneven paths leading up into the mountains—so that travelers may leave offerings, to hopefully garner good fortune upon their journeys. The village's economy wasn't exactly the richest; but they were fortunate enough to be apart of a fairly popular trader route in their region, which earned them enough money and supplies to support their small village. The population was about 40 people.

18. What languages can they speak?

Mariko can speak five languages, although she's only verbally fluent in two of them; since she's predominantly mute; and doesn't really place herself in situations where she could learn the other three in a more verbal setting. The other three languages are typically spoken in short; broken; and rather unconfident bursts. The five languages are: Japanese, American Sign Language, English, Spanish, and Gaelic. She's verbally fluent in Japanese; as well as ASL—with the others being languages that she can understand fairly well, but speaking them is a whole other battle.

Where did they learn these languages?

Japanese — Mariko's mother tongue is Japanese, and was her only language for a significant amount of time. She learnt from her parents; neighbours; and other family members and friends. ASL — Originally, Mariko was introduced to sign language by Rhydian Hughes; who taught her a few basic signs; to better communicate with her, during the time that she was within his care. She later went on to further branch out in sign language; picking up numerous signs from all over the America's, as well as inventing her own signs; and when she met Valentine Gallagher—the two of them studied the language together, becoming fluent. English — Numerous sources taught her how to understand the English language; as a majority of her friendships are with English speakers; although she still genuinely struggles with speaking the language. Any sentences in English are typically spoken in broken, unconfident bursts; and a majority of English translations for the Japanese words she uses, are a complete mystery to her brain. Spanish — Both Valentine Gallagher and Javier Escuella taught her, through spending copious amounts of time with them both. Gaelic — Both Valentine Gallagher and Sean MacGuire taught her, for the exact same reasons as the above language. ;w;

21. What is their favourite thing about their personality?

Mariko has developed a personal love for her more...deadpan nature; since it seems to throw other people off, and making people a little uncertain brings her a power high like no tomorrow. She 100% gets a kick from facing her companions' light-hearted; optimistic, "We're gonna get outta this alive!" comments—with a snarky little, "We're getting hunted by creepy mutes in a bayou, in the pitch black, with gators beneath our feet at almost every turn; but I'm glad you're feelin' optimistic." And seeing their reactions.

35. What is the easiest way to annoy them?

Talking. Mariko is a relatively quiet individual, and she's definitely one of these people who gets an energy boost in the peace and quiet; preferring to surround herself with relatively quiet people. She only has the patience in her heart for four high-energy chatter boxes, and all of them are Irish blokes who have found their way into her heart, because she has a soft spot for people who remind her of over excitable puppies. <w< Anyone else, tho? Mariko resonates deeply with Charles', "Why do you insist on talking so much? It's...incessant." She gives people an internal timer of two minutes to express what they want to her; and if they haven't by the time that timer is done; she's 100% over their shit, my dude.

44. Do they have any scars? If so, what are the stories behind those scars?

Yes! Mariko has a significant amount of scars, though the most noticeable scar is the one across her eye. She's gained a majority of her scars through life itself; nasty falls, life-threatening fights with targets and criminals, bar brawls, ambushes; all of the above. The scar across her eye was given to her by James Kelly, as revenge for her butchering his group of O'Driscoll Boys; killing his best friend; and getting him punished and exiled from the gang. He caught up to her at a later date—and ensured that she always had a reminder of the person that she had fucked over; that she'd always remember someone was hunting her down, and that a lil' scar over one of her eyes would seem like nothing—once he was completely done with her. He wanted her to have a scar that was visible; unable to be hidden; much like the two 'smiler' scars on either side of his own mouth—to give her a taste of humiliation.

48. Do they have any tattoos? What are the stories behind those tattoos?

No. She presently doesn't have any tattoos; less because I can't envision her with them, and more because I need to think on the sort of designs (and placements) that I'd like her to have. ^w^

89. What is their D&D alignment?

Chaotic Neutral. Originally, Mariko was leaning a little more towards chaotic good; but with her more recent edits and modifications; she fully leans into chaotic neutral. She doesn't want to fight a battle to change the unfair rules of society, but she also isn't going to respect 'em; because 'rules were made to be broken' —she's out for herself, her partner, and Valentine Gallagher. She agrees a fair amount with Dutch Van Der Linde's original mindset of 'the west is free'; and will happily fight a bitch to ensure her freedom, and the freedom of those she loves & cherishes, are always kept—even if it goes against the new world order; even if it causes issues for the law.

                     bloodlines.           there  are  three  primary  bloodlines  of  the  lestrange  family.  the  family  is  originally  from  the  burgundy  region  of  france,  with  the  cyrille  and  corvus  bloodlines  still  calling  the  country  home.  however,  at  some  point  a  portion  of  the  family  migrated  to  wales.  this  line  was  previously  referred  to  simply  as  the  welsh  line,  but  after  taliesin’s  great  grandfather’s  time  as  minister  of  magic  became  known  as  the  radolphus  bloodline.  the  radolphus  bloodline  is,  despite  the  amount  of  time  they  have  been  located  in  wales,  still  close  with  their  french  cousins,  although  culturally  they  are  far  more  welsh  than  french,  as  can  be  seen  in  how  they  pick  their  names.  radolphus  lestrange  children are  often  gifted  traditional  welsh  names.  taliesin’s  own  name  is  a  reflection  of  this  practice,  named  after  a  legendary  wizard  from  wales,  and  his  middle  name,  cadfael,  being  both  the  name  of  his  uncle  and  meaning   battle  prince   in  welsh.

                     language.           taliesin  grew  up  speaking  both  english  and  welsh,  which  his  father  taught  him.  in  the  lestrange  household,  english  was  the  casual  and  common  language,  partially  due  to  the  fact  that  dorthea  was  not  fluent,  though  she  had  picked  up  aspects  of  it  over  the  years.  welsh  was  often  reserved  for  serious  and  likely  tense  exchanges  between  aneurin  and  taliesin.  in  fact,  it  was  in  welsh  that  taliesin  was  reprimanded  for  the  use  of  the  s-word.  for  this  reason,  welsh  is  a  much  more  emotionally  charged  language  for  him,  and  is  often  what  he’ll  turn  to  to  express  anger  or  frustration.  for  example,  an  exclamation  of  pain  is  more  likely  to  be   cachi   than  fuck.  likewise,  if  he  is  with  someone  who  also  speaks  welsh,  he  will  instinctively  switch  to  welsh  if  the  conversation  grows  tense.

                     food.          when  taliesin  taught  himself  to  cook,  he  often  turned  to  traditional  recipes.  part  of  this  was  due  to  the  number  of  dishes  he  could  think  of  that  did  not  require  the  delicate  touch  of  steady  hands,  but  also  because  it  provided  a  comfort,  a  piece  of  home  he  could  make  himself  while  he  was  at  the  clinic.  cawl  and  rarebit  are  two  of  his  favorites,  especially  in  the  winter.  he’s  tried  his  hand  at  making  bara  brith  but  has  learned  that  baking  does  require  more  exact  measurements,  though  pice  ar  y  maen  is  something  he  can  manage  if  he  is  careful.

                    holidays.          instead  of  halloween  or  samhain,  taliesin  grew  up  celebrating  nos  calan  gaeaf  and  calan  gaef  on  october  31st  and  november  1st  respectively.  within  the  lestrange  household,  officially,  it  was  little  more  than  a  time  for  family  to  gather  together  for  a  meal,  with  treats  for  the  children  and  some  caution  extended  due  to  the  fact  that  the  distance  between  life  and  death  was  slimmer.  both  dorthea  and  aneurin  had  little  time  for  what  they  saw  as  the  more  lowbrow  traditions  the  surrounded  the  holiday,  however  that did  not  mean  that  taliesin  never  experienced  them.  a  practice  of  having  a  bonfire  on  nos  calan  gaeaf  is  common  and  is  often  accompanied  with  a  divination  practice  in  which  participants  write  their  name  on  a  stone  and  leave  it  in  the  fire.  if  your  stone  was  not  found  the  next  day,  it  meant  you  would  die  within  the  year.  older  cousins  of  taliesin,  morys,  rhydian,  and  aerona,   saw  this  as  a  perfect  opportunity  to  mess  with  the  younger  boy.  they  snuck  off  to  have  their  own  bonfire  several  years,  over  which  they  would  frighten  him  with  stories  of  yr  hwch  ddu  gwta,  reminding  him  that  they  had  to  get  home  before  the  fire  burned  out  or  the  spirit  would  eat  their  souls.  the  practice  continued  in  secret  among  the  cousins  for  several  years,  until  taliesin  was  nine  and  morys  thought  it  would  be  funny  to  remove  taliesin’s  rock  before  he  was  able  to  check  for  it  the  next  day.  taliesin,  convinced  of  his  own  imminent  death,  spilled  the  secret  of  the  yearly  bonfire  to  his  mother.

                    legends.           as  a  curious  and  adventurous  child,  it  makes  sense  that  taliesin  grew  up  enjoying  stories  of  the  fantastic.  one  such  story  was  of  the  merlin,  morgan  le  fay,  and  their  involvement  in  the  court  of  king  arthur.  knights  being  aided  by  magic  was  perfect  to  capture  the  young  boy’s  attention.  however,  due  to  growing  up  in  wales,  additional  characters  appeared  in  the  versions  taliesin  was  told  or  read.  besides  that,  tales  of  specifically  welsh  magical  exploits  were  also  his  to  enjoy.  giants  like  ysbaddaden,  the  wizards  gwydion  and  math,  and  others,  all  captured  taliesin’s  imagination.  his  own  namesake  even  appeared  a  few  times.  he  enjoyed  them  to  the  point  of  naming  his  pet,  an  eagle-owl  gifted  to  him  on  his  eleventh  birthday   (   with  the  assumption  that  it  would  help  him  keep  in  touch  from  hogwarts,  but  ended  up  serving  the  same  purpose  from  a  different  location   ),    eliwlod,    after  the  nephew  of  king  arthur  who  was  likely  an  animagus,  as  he  was  known  to  have  the  ability  to  turn  into  a  raptor.

Playing with Dolls

Ok, so I'm gonna just go full no-cringe and post these - I've had a couple of really low- focus days so I've just been making characters from my original writing on @5eyed 's dollmaker that's been going round.

I don't think I've ever posted about my writing on here before because I can't do fanfic (can't mimic other authors worth a damn!), but if anyone's actually interested in any of these stories PLEASE talk to me because I would love someone to chat with! I've not had anyone to share this with since I had to quit my writing club. I can't put readmores on mobile, so if anyone hates long posts you can blacklist #playing with dolls.

A Different Skin

A quiet political and personal problem story set in a fantasy world with technology similar to 17th century Europe (Restoration/post English Civil War).

Our point of view character is Ash, who was adopted into the royal family after saving the Crown Prince twice when they were around ten, first from a boar attack in the forest where Ash had been living alone, and second from an assassination attempt in the palace after he'd been given a stableboy's position in gratitude.

This has left Prince Ash very scarred (a gnarlier facial scar than I could do on the dollmaker!) but not cowed. Now in his late twenties, Ash is captain of his brother's personal guard, and a serious fighter who spends most of his time training.

Except that Ash has a couple of secrets.

Firstly, he likes to spend his leisure time in the town with the ordinary people, especially dancing and the competitive poetry events known as 'flyteing' (a real thing in our world. Like a rap battle!). He uses the alias 'Cole', which is super unsubtle (Ash? Coal?) but which doesn't matter much since there's not many people who have that MASSIVE SCAR. Half the town know that Cole is really Prince Ash, and most of them don't care. Ash has no idea.

The other secret is a little more... secret. Only his brother knows that he is actually she. Ash was disguised as a boy for safety living alone in the forest as a child, and there just never seemed to be a good time to tell everyone. And now it's too late... isn't it?

It's time for the Crown Prince to marry, and in their country the position of Consort is a political appointment, with candidates selected by the reigning monarch and a council by their governing skills, experience and potential aptitude. Their chosen person will arrive in the country shortly to undertake a course of study and a fitness test to see if she will be a good ruler for the country once the Queen dies. She is the best of the best, so Prince Rhydian should be excited... shouldn't he? Only, Rhyd isn't sure he wants to marry anyone at all...

The candidate herself is very excited. Mai is one of the junior royals of a very different country, and is looking forward to getting to grips with a totally foreign political system. The massive nerd. This position, if she can pass the tests, offers opportunities she never could have had back home, and that's worth birthing an heir or two. Prince Rhydian even seems nice, if shy. And his brother, Prince Ash, assigned as her guard and guide, is very approachable and willing to show her the commoners' side of the country she wouldn't otherwise get to see. What could go wrong?...

Other characters include Philo, Ash's best friend, who runs a guesthouse for immigrants and outsiders called the Brass Dogs and is PROBABLY an ex-spy but we don't talk about that. Or should that be probably an EX-spy....

Nan, Princess Mai's bodyguard and also aunt... great-aunt... second cousin... something anyway. Older than I could make her look on the dollmaker. Nobody's sure what she's capable of but you probably don't want to know. Her nickname amongst the underground community is most likely not meant to be reassuring.

And Shonagh, Master Carpenter of the village of Terr, who as the story begins is just another craftsman busy at work in the countryside surrounding the royal city. Sure, she may have lost her family when her father went mad and ran off into the woods with her little sister many years ago, but that doesn't have anything to do with any larger stories afoot, no, not at all...
