So when it comes to magic and such, i think it depends on the spells and what it requires of the user. like, if the magic runs off of like, life energy or whatever, then it would probably take a toll on the user and their wings would look tattered and unkempt, the feathers fraying, thinning, becoming brittle and fragile.

with the flashes, theyre all wither hummingbirds, or sunbirds. like, not all hummers/sunbirds are flashes, but all flashes are hummers/sunbirds 😔

in all seriousness tho, theyd have to bind/hide their wings since they create drag, and having their wings just out there behind them would 1, slow them down SIGNIFICANTLY, and 2, have the potential to just... rip off of them if the flashes are going too fast. it doesnt matter how good their healing is, i doubt they can regrow limbs.

for metas like duke and hal jordan who have powers that dont directly outright change their biology or make them inhuman (if that makes sense) i think their wings are just, normal wings, maybe a bit sturdier? but hal jordan's just some guy with a powered ring (im p sure) so its whatever

being blessed/cursed would be kinda complicated since it determines what the terms of the blessing/curse are. but i think for jason blood, whenever he calls etrigan, his wings kinda just, turn into leathery stereotypical demon wings (but the transformation itches like crazy, probably.... the only thing ive seen of the two are from that one movie where zatana and john constatine team up with batman and that one acrobat ghost dude)

for billy, i think his wings would reflect the age he's at. for his 12 y/o form, i think he's have the coloration typical of his species's immature/fledgling coloration. but after he shazams himself into cpt marvel, i think he'll display the bright coloration/saturated colors that you'd find in his species (the only thing ive seen of him is the shazam movie 😔)

for martian manhunter... has he ever done hair?? cos wings are complicated, what with each individual feathers needing to be specifically recreated would be similar to hair, and then theres the matter of making the muscles work and everything move in a natural way. even if he manages to recreate wings, they’d look uncanny and wrong, and it freaks people out, and some ids may cry if they see him. It’s like a sickly victorian child looking at ai art with too many elbows/joints and too many fingers: it’d be disconcerting for them, and civillians would be distressed

and as a treat: different species would probably have like, wide-ranging diets. Like carnivorous raptors- alfred, tim, bruce, etc, would have a taste for meat whereas jason, duke, steph, and dick would be more keen toward grains, seeds, trail mixes, stuff like that. Dick in particular would be a FIEND for sweet fruit (the flashes would also all prolly be obsessed with calorie-dense and sugary fruits)

there would probably be plenty of shops/stores that sell insects for primarily insect-eating species, which means eating insects would probably be a more accepted thing in this world than it is in our world currently

Certain Thaals are too busy throwing a hissy fit temper tantrum, so this has to be third person AND sentenced to a readmore 😔

There are a great many things indeed which Thaal would like to do to him. Some a matter of a passing mood, to tear him limb from limb when he's being particularly pestiferous for instance- But others have far more staying power, fantasies banished to the back of his mind but never really gone, just waiting to slip to the forefront of his thoughts once again.

Taking him to his great bed- nothing as grand as Thaal would prefer, but proportioned for him and nearly swallowing the human up- pushing him onto it, crawling up after him to cage him in with arms and body. Halting his wriggling by sitting on his thighs, legs on either side of his own, head slowly pulled aside by brown curls to make room for a rough tongue. Long fingers ripping Hal's uniform apart, nails digging into softer-by-comparison human skin, sharp incisors and double set of fangs at his neck. He can feel every breath Hal takes, feel the muscle beneath the skin, feel his pulse beneath his lips. Follows that path up to mash their mouths together, all teeth and tongues and blood and want.

Thaal has to pull away to breathe, to strip everything off Hal's top half in one pull. He doesn't dare separate, to give Hal a chance to slip away again- but knows better than to fully smother, much as he longs to fold the human into him entirely. Sitting up, maintaining heavy eye contact, Thaal dismisses his uniform; pulls his tunic over his head, slides further up Hal’s body, undoes the inane button and zipper of his pants blindly behind him. Then, one leg at a time, Thaal carefully slips free of his own trousers, pushing a knee at Hal’s thighs until they part just enough to let him press against him.

The motions are hazy- Logistics are unnecessary in hypotheticals like this. He would have thought of something ahead of time, or figured something out in the moment. Regardless, they end up joined together. Hal’s higher body temperature had always been a distraction, like touching biteless fire, but it's maddening being inside of him. Hal rides him at first, making the most enthralling noises as he moves against him, hands holding tight enough to surely leave bruises on tanned skin. Then he leans down, far enough to reach Thaal’s neck with lips and teeth. He lets himself relish the electric melting feeling, let the human return just one of the marks he left on him- before taking the opportunity to flip them. Pulling Hal up into his lap, leaning over flush against him, drawing more blood from each other in one more of those bruising kisses.

Hal finishes first, of course- it's a matter of physiology, human stamina versus Korugaran- yet doesn't deny Thaal from reaching his own. It's something he hasn't felt in ages, no other able to elicit that chemical cocktail in his brain, that particular response since- He doesn't want to think about the past for once, focus on the future. But it's difficult to focus on anything, trying not to fight the potent high as much as he can manage. Tucking his head down, back into Hal’s neck, breathing deep and growing languid. Senses hazy but commanded by Hal all around him, captured by his lover, scent in his lungs and skin burning pleasantly against his own. Together, as they should be, like they always have-

No. No! Pushing it down again, willing the phantasm to be crushed to pieced in his mind and swept away, rid of it for good. For now and forever.

Until that gnawing in his chest returns to weaken him temporarily again.

dc dreams i’ve had in 2023

highlights:

- reconnected with an old friend who asked what i’ve been up to lately and i immediately started showing him my (non-existent) flash collection, including but not limited to: flash jacket, flash lunchbox, and a flash figure (i need all of these now.)

- superman/GL crossover comic where clark kept outshining hal and hal was getting mad abt it but then clark gave him a big ol hug and it wasn’t such a big deal anymore

- my therapist made me annotate a batman comic bc they thought i would have a lot in common with him 😭 edit: the dream that diagnosed me w ocd.

- went to an ice creamery with jason who was begrudgingly playing a video game with damian bc dami wouldn’t stop yelling at him to over messages, but by the end of the dream he was proudly showing me his scores

- wally and martian manhunter’s nephew m’hammed were friends and wally was helping m’hammed disguise himself as human and hide in society and it took ages for anyone to pick up that “muhammed” was actually a martian. also wally was a kid but barry was already dead in this version :(

- yja artemis finally became a character in the comics and they made a figure of her to celebrate!

- halcarol wedding in an airport

- brought my hal and superman plushies with me to go somewhere but i got confused why barry wasn’t with me :(

- tried to buy a christopher reeves’ superman vinyl for my sibling’s bday gift

- barry puppy plushies. 5 of them. woke up to have NONE.

- some terrible stuff was happening idk, i was too busy infodumping abt barry to someone and making sure they wrote it down. archiving history as the world ends ig, that’s my contribution

- found an awful comic called darkseid warside (?? had nothing to do w darkseid) that was beautifully drawn and had sooo many fun characters details (ex: barry won the lottery and named his winning ticket betty, there was also a letter in his handwriting that was perfect for character studying, hal kept sneaking selfies to commemorate his time w carol, ollie and roy were simultaneously trying to figure out how to talk to each other again and it was sad + sweet, etc) but it was so horribly written. so so ooc, basically injustice again but so much more gory, thawne died in the first issue and it wasn’t even bc of the flash, it was superman ripping his body into two and there were intestines splayed out everywhere (in front of the young justice too). it was so awful, but the character details and panelling were so unique, everything i couldve asked for, so i lamented abt having to buy it. the clerk was like “you don’t have to” and i was like “but im gonna 😔”

Alice could do that. I just have an habit of focusing on certain characters and forgetting the rest. Maybe her confrontation with Ruse is before the trials, then during said trials Dan/Ruse start getting sus, and then, during the battle vs Shun, maybe he doesn't put his all into the fight, because emotional conflict, Dan notices and gets angry, and then the battle does an 180 and Shun is being massacrated. Skyress evolves, and something in the way that Shun and Skyress battle /1

Together, side by side, makes Dan feel ill. After the battle, when Shun loses, Dan hears them talking to each other and, oh man he was wrong wasn't he, Naga had... Naga had lied to them. They straight up chuck Naga into the river. Hal G rescues him but now Ruse has quit. Dan/Ruse is an emotional mess, and challenges Shun to a battle. Actually, to make things even more dramatic, Skyress doesn't evolve when Shun battles Dan. She evolves when he battles Ruse. Ruse loses. /2

Emotional breakdown ensues on both sides, especially when Ruse throws her mask away, leaving Dan confused but with a vague idea of what happened, staring at the last person he wants to see right now. Also, the rest of the brawlers didn't know Ruse was Dan so they're Shocked. /3end

wonder if shun starts to berate himself for taking so long to the return to brawling because maybe he could’ve stopped dan before things went so wrong? and starts wondering why he didn’t notice things sooner? especially when it came to his childhood/best friend?
