#polls#video games#RPGs#game polls#video game polls#games#for a final boss i think 3-5 is pretty good#it of course depends on a lot of factors even if we're assuming an rpg with typical action combat#it depends on the overall gameplay and feel of the game and how boss fights were structured#with kh3 for example i expected the final boss to be hard#because it's a high combat action fantast rpg#and xehanort is proceeded by a lovely boss rush#and the main battle itself is a gorgeous setpiece#but i expected it not to be TOO hard cause the story bosses are meant to be accessible and it does have difficulty scaling#when you get into soulsborne or bullet hell or other precision fights tho it's gonna be a lot higher#so I'd say largely it depends#but 3-5 is my comfort range

Filigree designs are done!

[An image of Postlimniae, a Mourning Cloak with a design leaning heavily toward an image of an armored knight with large amounts of draped blue and marigold yellow fabric over the plate. Over the fabric is complex filigree in silver. The design resembles the patterning on moth's wings, with an "eye" pattern to the inside of the design but otherwise plain, and the outside made up of complex floral patterning with several other motifs worked in. Of note are the Pathfinder's Lantern, the Wolf, and stylized blades.]
I'm actually quite pleased with how this turned out. It's a bold and unconventional design, sure, but I think the way that it turns the cloak into folded wings is quite fetching, and provides a nice contrast to the more intricate and filled in designs that I am seeing on the others.
Time will tell with reception, though. Our first parade is soon, so I will have to update you on how that goes.

TIMORRE: You're still assuming that there wasn't a ploy there. The point of the Parable of Dellamar is that he chose to concede to get an advantage on Passacaglia, not that he accepted some kind of offer where the advantage was promised to him.
STRELITZIA: Yeah, but if he was doing that he would probably have like. Said what he's offering.
TIMORRE: The whole rest of the test was implied.
STRELITZIA: Also the part where you pass the test here still has him losing because you haven't done the one thing he keeps asking you to.
TIMORRE: I'm not sure that he actually cares that much.
STRELITZIA: Sure he doesn't.
TIMORRE: He hasn't ordered me to do it yet. If he really wanted me to he could.
STRELITZIA: Would you?
TIMORRE: Probably. It would be a massive waste if I were to do all that to get back into the House and throw it away here.
STRELITZIA: Yeah you keep not t— Fuck.
TIMORRE: What?

Cela permet soit de mettre en scène un combat à deux étages, soit de faire une séquence d'infiltration au tour par tour avec les rondes des gardes.

The PCs infiltrate the ennemy territory through a forest, when they find a structure in the three manned by sentinels. They have to go through, and they can't afford their presence to be reported. This can lead either to a two-level battle, or to an turn-by-turn infiltration scene with the guards' patrols.

I tripped and rewrote the entire schedule system to allow for greater variation and replayability. Classes are now scheduled entirely at random, aside from two swaps you are allowed to make at the start of term. You might get a really great schedule, with all your classes spread out evenly, allowing you plenty of time to get work done... Or you might end up with big blocks of a single class back to back, meaning you have less travel around the school (and fewer mal attacks), but you must also rely on other students for help getting your assignments done on time, particularly those that require lots of lab hours.
You do get to redo your schedule completely at the start of each new term (January and August), so even if you end up with a really rubbish schedule, it's only temporary.

thinking about the sith shrine in the depths again, with special note to:
the blight is attacking the back wall of the chamber of the sith shrine in the depths. i don't think that the chamber that the jedi acknowledge as the extent of the sith shrine is the extent of the shrine. i think it's an antechamber.
because the architecture isn't correct. a truly sacred space is within the temple, is separated from it. it's a second enclosure. a ziggurat has its on the top, after successive levels and outer rooms. a peripteros has its portico, then the entrance chamber, then the interior chamber. even rock-cut temples have a division between the 'lay person' area and the 'priests only' area. look at the interior of the only sith temple we've seen: the tomb of darth bane on korriban (in rebels, they went up outside of the temple). there's the great chamber in which his coffin sits but also the coffin moves to reveal the sacrificial chamber, the sanctum sanctorum of that particular temple (which is probably several millennia old, since zannah isn't going to stick around to build her old master a whole-ass temple on korriban, especially when they're supposed to be hiding. also the lettering on that sarcophagus is gibberish, which fits more as a 'these letters are magic, we don't know what they do, but they're magic so we're putting them here' way that writing is treated when it's still a very new invention. so a very new importation by the exiles).
not to mention that it allows the whole 'no one has set foot here for 5000 years' from tarkin to be accurate as well as the jedi of the high republic using the shrine to purify objects. what they think is the inner sanctum is not the inner sanctum. the inner sanctum is behind that wall, and whatever is behind that wall has enough of the living force imbued in it to be the focus of the blight. the blight spreads outward from it.
anyway, that's my ted-x talk on the sith shrine in the depths.
#keeping up with the skywalkers#i like to picture the main structure of it as similar to the acablas temple on auratera from the endless vigil rpg book#it has a funnel overtop a cenote and then a dome structure beneath but i feel that the funnel is like an open-air mine supported by:#1) how the sith on exegol are excavating for the vergence there. it makes sense for them to have tried the same on coruscant.#2) the whole notion of the pyramid of power for sith temples. it focuses the power at the top; the reverse would spread that power out#like a megaphone except dark sith fuckery; organizing it so the power goes upward instead of spreading outward

i had logged out of tumblr because i was doomscolling and then went to browse my usual cashe of shitty recommended articles about mtg card price spikes and random video game news, and i saw that the new dnd handbook disallows some of the famous letter of the law exploits (like teleporting items with hundreds of npc in a chain) and... brother if you want stupic technical rules exploits then why are you playing dnd when mtg is right there. they put oodles of dnd into the game anyway so you don't even have to change your preferred aesthetic
#truthfully the reason why i Don't with ttrpgs anymore is not enough rules#too much vulnerablity and not enough structure#all the people who are like 'ERM why dont you get a better group' when rpg horror stories are told piss me off#at least with magic. you can call a judge over and have someone settle a dispute#everyone who breifly convinced me that structured combat in rpgs was bad did me a disservice#i like it so much that now i only care about the game that's just combat and tricks#ok i log back out now
