I'm glad to hear your power's back. I don't need any dividers, but I wonder if you might be able to make a graphic I can use for a pinned post?
"KARKED-UP REGULATIONS" is going to be all about the contents of the GAR reg manuals. As far as colors and iconography, I'm not too particular--dark shades and trooper-related graphics, I suppose. The GAR cog would make sense, and you already know what I look like (holos of me with the 501st or the Batch are both fine).
Thanks for taking the time to do this. It's appreciated.
Hi Echo! Thanks for the request; this was a fun one to tackle. I hope this is close to what you had in mind. Let me know if you'd rather I make one that has holos of you and your brothers, and I'll see what I can do!

Echo literally saying “I’ll drop you off and pick you up later” to the Batch as he leaves them with Rex at the clone hideout was such raw Mom energy.
Like get out of the mini-van, you have swim practice, say hi to your coach for me, Mom’s gonna do a Target run and be right back k?
Watch while everyone was being blown up and running, Echo was getting a manicure and having a wine date with Riyo Chuchi.
Treat yo’self. As a mom herself I stan this.

playing around with an incorrect quote generator and came up with some gems
Ahsoka: Why are you late? Obi-Wan: A technical error occurred, causing an unexpectedly long bout of unconsciousness. Ahsoka: Overslept? Obi-Wan: Overslept.
Ahsoka: I am the most responsible person in the group. Obi-Wan: …You just set the kitchen on fire. Ahsoka: Yes, and I take full responsibility for that.
Obi-Wan: Ahsoka, why are you crying? Ahsoka: This book is so sad!! Obi-Wan, picking it up: But this is my diary-
Crosshair: What, in the name of sanity, have you got on your head? Tech: It's a fez, I wear a fez now. Fezzes are cool. Wrecker: *snatches the fez, throws it in the air* Crosshair: *shoots it*
Tech: Do we have any orange juice left? Crosshair: *pours the remaining juice into his cup* Crosshair: Sorry, we’re all out.
Crosshair: There’s no “I” in team, but there is one in pizza. Tech: So, you’re not going to share? Crosshair: I’m not going to share.
Omega: We’re kind of missing something guys. Echo: Cohesion? Crosshair: Teamwork? Tech: A general sense of what we’re doing? Hunter: And Wrecker is not here. Echo: Oh, and that, yeah.
Hunter: This is a judgement free zone. *Pulls out a knife the size of his forearm* Hunter: And I mean it.
Echo: Are you mad? Hunter: No. Echo: So sharpening your knives at 3 in the morning is just a hobby?
Fox: You are the love of my life and I would do anything within reason to make you happy. Riyo: I would be happy if you ate, stayed hydrated and got a reasonable amount of sleep. Fox: I said within reason, Riyo. How about I murder that guy? Riyo: So murder is in reason but proper self care isn't? Fox: Well, duh. What kind of question is that?
Fox: Hey, random question, what are your favorite flowers? Riyo: Peonies, why? Fox: Riyo: Were you going to get me flowers? Fox: Riyo: Fox: ᶦᵗ’ˢ ᵃ ᵖᵒˢˢᶦᵇᶦˡᶦᵗʸ
Fox: Riyo and I are no longer dating. Riyo: Fox, that’s a horrible way of telling people we’re married.
Satine : I want to kiss you. Obi-Wan, not paying attention: What? Satine : I said if you die, I wont miss you.
Satine : I’ve been dropping them the most insanely obvious hints for like a year now. No response. Obi-Wan: Wow. They sound stupid. Satine : But they’re not. They’re really smart actually. Just dense. Obi-Wan: Maybe you need to be more obvious? Like, I don’t know… “Hey! I love you!” Satine : I guess you’re right. Hey Obi-Wan, I love you. Obi-Wan: See! Just say that! Satine : Obi-Wan: If that flies over their head then, sorry Satine , but they're too dumb for you. Satine : Obi-Wan.
Satine : I think I'm falling for you. Obi-Wan: Then get up.
Cody : You have an impressive pain tolerance. Obi-Wan: Thanks, it's the trauma.
Cody , holding an unconscious Obi-Wan: Oh no. Please don’t be dead.
Obi-Wan: You know what? Let’s give it a go. What’s the worst that could happen? Cody : Humiliation, embarrassment, fire, explosions, collisions, tears, nudity and death.
Obi-Wan: Turns on the kitchen light Cody : Sitting at the table, eating bread Obi-Wan: It’s four in the morning. Cody : Turn the light back off.
Rex: Are you alright? Ahsoka: Short answer or long answer? Rex: Short? Ahsoka: No. Rex: Long? Ahsoka: Nooooooo.
Rex: I found a note in one of my old word .docs that said Note to self: Get revenge on Ahsoka. Rex: Except I couldn't remember what I was supposed to get revenge for. Rex: But I trusted my own judgment, so I went with it. Ahsoka: Hmm… I don't know what you were supposed to get revenge for, either. Rex: I can only assume you got what was coming to you. Not 100 percent sure, though. Ahsoka: Well, whatever I did, I guess I deserved it. Rex: Let that possibly be a lesson to you.
Rex: My goal is not to be the best, but to inspire someone enough to one day surpass me. Ahsoka: YOU CAN'T JUST SAY THAT EVERY TIME YOU BEAT ME AT CONNECT FOUR!
Rex: I'm going to ask you to be respectful. Ahsoka: I will politely decline.

Catch me thinking about Commander Fox meeting Senator Chuchi for the first time.
She's new to Coruscant, so trying to find her way around the Senate building is a bit of a loss. Somehow she stumbles to the Guard barracks, and after some flustered explanations, Fox offers to escort her to the right area. While she's seen clones before, it had been very limited, so she's not sure what to do save some awkward small talk. The commander isn't sure what to do with a natborn treating him more than the furniture they walk past, and answers her questions hesitantly until they've arrived.
"Thank you Commander, I'll bring by something as thanks."
"Oh, it's nothing Senator, just doing my job."
She does come by a week later, bringing a bunch of treats that she made for the men. They're all pleasantly surprised, and Fox is coaxed from his office to accept them and is surprised she actually came back.
One visit turns to two, then three, and then it weekly visits with all of the Guard rotating shifts so everyone gets a chance to see her and her kind entourage. She always ends these visits with a walk around the Senate building with the Commander, the two slowly easing into more and more conversation the longer she visits. For all the whispers Chuchi had heard of Fox, he was quite the opposite in almost every way, from the way he chuckles to her jokes, to how he lets the senator drag him into the city for sight-seeing, despite his obvious discomfort.
The natborns were never this kind, never this excited to have a clone escorting them, never showing them such wonderful things like spice and fabrics and buying them for men created to serve. But here she was, always smiling and so polite and tentative to his needs that it leaves Fox reeling, trailing like a lost pup towards a bright star that radiates so many lovely feelings Fox was sure he'd never know.
It hits him one night that Chuchi isn't just a natborn to him anymore, that she's the Guard's senator, that she's Riyo to himself.
Oh
Oh kriff
Riyo Chuchi has already come to this thought a long time ago, and can't help but laugh to herself at how awkward Fox seems to be the next time she drops by. The other's under his command catch how awkward he seems to be all of a sudden, and smiles when there are nudges and whispers as they go to take their normal walk. It's a rainy day, so they find a small spot somewhere to watch the city move on through the weather, and they sit in silence for a few minutes before she places one of her hands on his knee. The subtle tilt of his helmet would go unnoticed to most, but Riyo has picked up his tells enough to smile, and the two just gaze at each other before Fox places a gloved hand over hers.
"I was hoping you'd notice eventually, Commander." Her smile is a tease, and she can hear the faint scoff and just about see his eyes rolling. "After all, you supposedly have eyes everywhere."
"Not when it comes to you lot." Some would think he was insulting Riyo, but she only gives a soft laugh and shuffle a little bit closer, giving the soldier plenty of space.
"If you say so."
The hand over hers tightens a fraction of an inch, and the helmet tips back up to watch the rain drenching everyone in the city.
"I do say so."

I sometimes have Foxiyo ideas I haven't had time to get around to writing/drawing. Here is one:
In some AU where Palps bites the dust early, Fox becomes one of the most well-adjusted of all the commanders. He also starts dating.
Except, no one believes him.
Cody and gang arrive on Coruscant for shore leave after weeks of fighting and Fox is happy to show them around. But he can't tomorrow night because he's got a hot date with a senate coworker.
Yeah right Fox.
Whatever you say.
Months go by, the war drags on. Fox's command batch arrives again and they go for drinks but Fox has to split early because he promised his girlfriend he'd sleep more regular hours.
'Girlfriend'? Pfft. Someone is having delusion of grandeur.
Leave him alone guys, he's probably so bored being stuck out here he's having hallucinations.
Fox now officially hates his brothers. They are totally paying for their own drinks.
The war has ended! Clones are granted citizenship. Everyone gathers again for drinks and to discuss their future. Fox (hesitantly) declares he's going to ask his girlfriend to marry him.
Are you still on about that Fox?
He's really committed to this bit.
That's it. None of you bottleheads are invited to the wedding. >:(
A year goes by. During the anniversary reunion dinner, Fox is spotted carrying a smol blue baby.
Whose kid is that Fox?
Mine.
Seriously vod, you can't just go around kidnapping people's children.
It's MINE.
I think that's Senator Chuchi's kid.
Aww, you sweet on a senator, Fox?
Bite me and die, Bly.
Do you want us to ask if she's single?
NO.
Some time later, Fox is doing dishes with Riyo who glances at him with a sly look. Fox is SUSPICIOUS.
Your brother Bly just asked me if I was single. He said he was asking for a friend.
I do not see.
I told him no. He seemed quite devastated. 😏
Riyo...
Cody also told me that a certain former Commander of the Corrie Guard had an... admiration for me.
...
You have an 'admiration' for me, Fox? 😘
... Riyo we're married.
Still! ❤
Eventually, Fox encounters his brothers while he's out with Riyo. They are aghast.
You know she's a married woman right, Fox?
Fox... don't do this to yourself...
Fox ignores them. They grow more desperate. Riyo resolves everything by telling everyone they are married. People are mollified. But later...
Did you hear that Fox got involved with a married woman?
Yeah! And but then she dumped her husband to marry Fox!
No one understands why Thorn, upon hearing all this, bursts out laughing so hard he almost chokes himself. The former Corrie Guards all swear by this story and tell everyone that they are very happy Senator Chuchi made a honest man out of Fox and he'll be a good dad to her children.
What's this rubbish about stepfather? I'm their actual father!
Yeah! That's the spirit! You're their father, Fox!
Fox screams.

Executive Cucumber's thoughts on the Bad Batch: Season 3x06 and 3x07 (I'm pretty sure I'm formatting this differently every time. Oh well)
Okay, there's a subject I'm going to have to postpone until the end of the post because I want all my thoughts on that to be together: the main operative clone. And the rest might be slightly out of order. I'm also doing this before I see anyone else's thoughts, just so we get the pure version.
Let's go!
I honestly thought that Senator Singh and Riyo were dead meat. But no, they're fine because REX IS COOLER THAN ANYONE. Ugh that man. Freaking throwing the grenade back at him.
Clones are beautiful. That is all.
THAT'S THAT ONE PLACE FROM THE OG CLONE WARS MOVIE!!! TETH!!!
Howzer I love you but if you touch Crosshair we will be having words.
I am actually really proud of Crosshair and his restraint this episode. He could have been really cutting to Howzer.
OMEGA WITH THE TOOTHPIIIIICKS and Hunter is jealouuuus
EDIT: ECHO AND THE CROSSBOW HE'S SO SWEET
WHAT DID THEY DO TO YOU CROSSHAIR
It's really nice to see normal clones being normal again. (Too bad it doesn't last)
There's something up with Omega. I'm not going to lie, I think that she and Rex are going to plan to get her captured in order to track her back to Tantiss.
HOWZER STOP DISTRUSTING CROSSHAIR THIS MOMENT
I appreciate that Hunter doesn't seem to distrust Crosshair during this point.
...they really shouldn't have brought that operative back.
Rex is considering stealing Omega, I swear. I love that he gets down to her level.
WOOOOOOOOOOOLFFE (Plo would be so disappointed in you)
It's...odd to see these normal troopers with him.
It's also strange that he cannot comprehend that the clones could be traitors at first.
STOP DYING YOU BEAUTIFUL REGS
'She only bites half the time' I'm pretty sure Omega is lying here but I don't care.
CROSSHAIR IS SUCH A WORRIED DAD HOLY CRAP. 'Oh, I'm much worse' I LOVE YOU
And this just gives such a little insight into how the Batch was when they were together. I have a feeling that Crosshair was a fusser and a nagger.
And I love how Howzer's natural and correct conclusion is: 'no one evil could love that child.' (Unless you're Nala Se)
Hey, actual candor from Crosshair. I keep saying this is who he always was under it all, but I do think he's healed somewhat, at least towards regs. The healing power of Omega.
'Too bad' I LOVE THIS MAN
STOP DYING REGS
Rex talking down Wolffe reminded me so much of him trying to talk Jesse down. So ow.
Okay, what ROCK have they shoved Wolffe under for the last YEAR??? YES THE EMPIRE WOULD GET RID OF THE CLONES YOU DOG BRAINED IDIOT
(Plo would be proud that you let them go)
...they just killed all of Rex's clones, except Howzer and Gregor. And I have a bad feeling about Howzer. STOP TAKING THINGS FROM REX HASN'T HE LOST ENOUGH???
Okay here we are, at the big topic. Hold onto your pants.
That operative clone. Is. Tech. Because if he is not, they are purposefully using the narrative to deceive us.
I might miss a few things, but that's because I'm up past my bedtime and I've been up too late the last few days.
1. The falling and water parallels. This clone falls a LOT during this episode and dives into a lot of water. He even falls into mist. This time it's to kill and capture his siblings instead of save them.
2. The injury. This clone is hobbling around a lot after his injury, which was immediately reminiscent of Tech's broken leg at the beginning of season 2. Both of them are forcing themselves past their limit to achieve a mission. Specifically with injured legs.
3. General attitude and demeanor. In combination with the stealth and injury, this clone has a more hunched posture. His speech patterns are more formal, though we haven't really heard a lot of other clone operatives talk with their helmets on. But he's also apparently allergic to orders. I first thought that he'd be out of the chain of command, but they would have told Wolffe that he wasn't in charge of the operative if that were the case. Or the operative would have straight up told him 'I don't take orders from you' instead of staring awkwardly at him. Instead he runs off and does his own thing. While injured. Not to mention the buttons on his gauntlet. The other clone operatives don't have those.
4. The cybernetic legs. Now we don't know for sure if Tech would have cybernetic legs, but it seems likely for a severely injured trooper. And when Crosshair is looking at the heat signature, you can see that his legs are blue instead of yellow or red. No heat. Not organic.
5. What he says to Crosshair. 'You could have been one of us.' 'You chose the wrong side.' Yes, he's talking about Crosshair resisting the re-education. But flip it on its head real quick. 'You could have been one of us. One of the Bad Batch.' 'You chose the wrong side. The Empire.' Those lines very easily have double meanings.
6. An interesting one is when he starts moving rocks after the explosion. Why would he do that? Why not immediately go find another way in? He's moving only the smaller rocks. There's a large one in the way that he couldn't move himself. And he doesn't get the rest of the troopers to come move it when they arrive. He almost seems confused.
Like he's somewhere else after an explosion, having to move rocks. Like in the Crossing.
I know that this hardly seem like iron clad evidence. But in the language of story telling, it's practically screaming in our faces.
And I'm so glad he's back. I missed him. He won't be himself for a while, but I legitimately believe we'll get one last fight with the Batch all together. Because brain washing is a heck of a lot easier to fix than being dead.
My sister is doing the good work and creating a tik token about it, and I'll probably share it here when she's finished.
(We're getting the episode 'Identity Crisis ON MY BIRTHDAY and so help me if that's about Tech)
Honestly I thought I'd be more excited, but I spent the entire two episodes forcing myself into not having expectations and also I might be in shock.

Fandom Friday--The Fanart Edition
Tumblr media
06/14/2024
Hello again, everyone…and welcome back to another Fandom Friday.
The purpose of these entries, if you have not yet heard it, is to bring more visibility to art and stories that might otherwise go unnoticed on the Tumblr timeline, as well as to help the creators of such fanworks achieve more followers in the process.
Today is also the day where I feel as though I should make an important announcement, because it deals with future installments of this series and I don't want anybody to be surprised/shocked...:
Since the 10-link limit was starting to hold me back a bit too much, if not also cause me to only add art links when I really wanted to include fanfiction links as well...I'm going to start doing a total of 7 links for each medium in two separate entries, as I feel that I won't be leaving as many writers or artists out this way.
And so, without further delay...here are the fanart recommendations for this week!
Tumblr media
THE CLONE WARS
The Clone Wars Fanart--By @gorlicberd:
The Clone Wars Fanart--By @dessinatsunset:
TALES OF THE JEDI

The Bad Batch Fanart--By @bitterfishiesstuff:
The Bad Batch Fanart--By @doodlingfoolishness:
CROSSING THE FANDOM STREAMS
Star Wars Rebels/Jurassic Park--By @swordbladeknight7:
In conclusion, as part of my mission to poke around the Star Wars fandom and, on Friday every week, highlight those artists who might otherwise go unnoticed…I hope you will check out the links I have included for yourselves and like, comment on, and reblog them, as well as also giving the artists a few more followers to their Tumblr pages.
Please also like and reblog this latest installment so that these links can be spread around to as many other fans as possible, just in case not all of them can tune in at the same time.
An additional thank you goes to @djarrex for making the divider I used earlier in this post, but still want to give credit for.
And finally, so that I do not forget...this post will be continued in its second half: the Fanfiction Edition. Thank you, good morning, and I'll see you in the next post!

Sorry for not specifying, lol. Those were from the angst prompt list! (this is the person who requested the Rex one-shot)
Tumblr media
I can most certainly do that for you, anon, and thank you for specifying the list!! 😊
**Slight spoilers for TBB s3 ep6**
"Bodyguards"
4. "Do you know what it would do to me if I lost you?"
16. "It's my job to protect you."
Pairing: Rex x fem reader
***
Rex had assigned you to be a bodyguard for Senator Riyo Chuchi after her own guards had been lost in an assassination attempt, especially now that she was neck-deep in her support of the Clones. She was going to need someone to watch her and she didn't want to risk anymore of her own security detail, so Rex entrusted you with that task, which you were glad to undertake. You and Riyo were similar in the fact that you both weren't Clones, but supported them in everything, fighting for their right to have a place in the galaxy. Though, after the Emperor declared the Clones were dangerous and would be replaced by his own order of stormtroopers, you knew that you and Chuchi had a lot ahead of you to help protect the Clones.
Soon after, Rex really began working hard on improving his underground network of Clones to fight back against the Empire while you helped Senator Chuchi from the inside. Neither side had it easy by any means. You and Rex kept each other informed of everything going on. He was always checking in on you, making sure you were safe. You were important to him, just as he was important to you. There was always something unspoken between the two of you that you honestly were a bit surprised hadn't been brought to light yet, given the constant danger you both were in. It didn't matter, though. You both had work to do and lives were at stake, so any feelings would have to wait.
A few months later, Chuchi was going to meet with Senator Avi Singh, the former Separatist Senator, and both you and Rex were going to be at that meeting for extra security. It wasn't long into the meeting that Rex got word something was wrong and then suddenly, there was a beeping noise in the room. A thermal detonator was thrown through the window of the room and Rex jumped into action. He caught the detonator and threw back out the window, nearly seconds before it exploded.
He had saved both Senators' lives, but seeing him throw himself into danger with such a close call made your heartrate spike with fear. He could've been killed just then had he only waited a few seconds more. Before you could say anything, he ran off to pursue the assassin while you got Senator Chuchi and Senator Singh to safety.
Some time later, he met back up with you, reporting that the assassin got away. Once you saw he was all right, you suddenly couldn't hold back.
"What were you thinking, jumping in front of the grenade like that?" you questioned him.
"I was protecting the Senators. It's my job to protect them," he stated. Then he looked intently into your eyes. "It's my job to protect you, as well."
You stepped closer to him. "I don't need you to protect me...and even so, I wouldn't want you to protect me by risking your life like that."
"I'm a soldier. It's what I do," he said.
"I don't accept that," you replied, laying your hands on his cheeks. "Do you know what it would do to me if I lost you?"
Rex's lips parted in surprise at the question, his eyes searching yours, but then he turned his gaze away, guilt etched in his features on his face as he whispered your name.
With a gentle nudge, you made him turn his head back to look at you and you stated, "Yes, we're soldiers, but we're also both human. That doesn't mean our lives are nothing to just throw away for someone else's sake. We both deserve to live...and to love."
Then, with those words having been spoken, you brought your lips to his and kissed the Captain softly and lovingly, enough to get your point across and hopefully not scare him away. After seeing him nearly have a brush with death, you were willing to take a chance at admitting your feelings. The time for waiting was over.
The sensation of your joined lips sparked a fire within the Captain that only been just an ember for so long. His arms were around you so quickly and tightly, nearly crushing you against him, and he deepened the kiss almost right away, seemingly wanting to lose himself with you.
After a passionate moment, he broke away, his breath heavy. "I know I said I was protecting the Senators," he said, "but all I could think about was you. I...I didn't want to see you hurt."
"I don't ever want to see you hurt either, Rex," you said back. "Please don't ever do something so risky like that again. We need to get through all this together."
He took your hands in his and gently kissed your fingers. "Together."

Guess whose brain decided it was on an angst trip this morning?
Post BB AU No pairing Just a short comm form drabble about things that have happened.
Warning for angst, major character death and grief. Characters features: Echo, Wrecker, Omega, Hunter, Crosshair, Tech, Riyo Chuchi, Rex.
Tumblr media
I wish I was writing this under better circumstances, but I know that, were the positions reversed, I’d want to know.
It’s been far too long, and we’ve left so much unsaid. I never realised how quickly time would pass.
We buried Echo under the huge oak tree at the end of the garden today.
Hunter still hasn’t spoken since he passed. In a way, we all knew it was coming. The nerves connecting his legs died a long time ago, his scomp shorting his implants out more often than not.
Rex is here too. He… isn’t good.
He still blames himself for sending Echo out. We all know Echo would have gone anyway, but survivor’s guilt hits hard. He’s staying for a while with two other troopers, Wolffe and Gregor. They’re nice, a bit quiet, but that’s to be expected.
Senator Chuchi showed up as well. Well, former Senator. She was dressed all in black. She didn’t stop crying.
I didn’t even know she and Echo were involved in any way. Apparently, they had a ‘thing’ once. Rex won’t elaborate. He still treats me like a kid, but at least it seemed to make him smile thinking about it.
There’s been so much we missed with Echo when he left with Rex. Part of me thinks we should have gone too.
That might be why Hunter is so quiet, if he’s thinking the same.
He’s getting old, he knows that. Echo knew that. But he kept fighting. Kept trying to take down the Empire.
Now it all feels a bit… empty.
The Empire is still there and still hurting people, and Echo is… he’s under the dirt, at rest, finally. He’s with his brothers. He’s back with Fives. I never knew Fives, but he told me so many stories.
I keep crying, but I know it’s selfish.I want him here. But his brothers are there. Most of them. Not you. Not Hunter.
Gonky has just sat next to the tree all day. He doesn’t seem to understand. Maybe he thinks Echo is charging, that he’ll wake up when he’s done. I tried to explain. It didn’t help.
The house is busy. I don’t like it.
Hunter prefers it quiet. Too much going on overwhelms him nowadays. His headaches are getting worse.
We tried to contact Tech a few rotations ago. His comm is still dead.
I know he doesn’t want to talk to any of us after what happened, but I thought he should know. You were always closest to him. If you see him, tell him…
Tell him we miss him.
Wrecker misses him.
He’s adjusted to losing his other eye well, all things considered. There are still times he feels useless, and he says as much. Today was hard.
He wanted to carry Echo down the garden, to help, but he couldn’t. He’s still sat by the lake. I think he might stay out there all night.
I’m going to clean up. There’s a lot to do now.
We’re cooking Pantoran roast porg tonight.
Riyo said it was Echo’s favourite. I’ve never tried it. I hope we can learn how to cook it. It would be nice to keep a bit of his memory with us.
A lot has happened, I know. But you should come home soon. It would be good to see you. It would be nice to visit Echo with you.
I’m not even sure if you’ll read this, but if you got this far, I only want you to know one thing.
We love you, Crosshair. And we’ll always be waiting.
O
xx

@marbled-polecat I want you to know that this was my very first Fox/Quinlan/Riyo fic ever, so I hope it's good. I chose to the B1 pose because it just spoke to me in away the other didn't.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
When Quinlan walked into Riyo’s parlor, he froze at the sight that waited for him there.
Fox and Riyo had changed into casual, comfortable clothes, and they had clearly been expecting him. That part wasn’t surprising since it was their date night.
But what was surprising was the fact that Riyo was standing on top of her elaborately carved caf table wearing, Quinlan noticed with confusion, what got to be her highest heels.  While Fox was barefooted, for some reason even he was standing on a small footstool.
“Do I even want to know?” Quinlan asked as he took off his robe, laying it on top of some fancy crystal statue that he had always thought to look like a pile of bantha droppings.
The action deserved a frown from Riyo, although there was no true heat to it, considering Quinlan had seen her do the same thing with her clothes more than once.
“Depends,” Fox drawled with a knowing smirk, and oh, didn’t that make the clone look handsome.
“Depends on what?” Quinland inquired as he approached the pair before right stopping before them. Curious, he looked at their positions, noticing how close they were. Honestly, were they any closer, they could be hugging each other.
“Depends on how much longer you’re going to stand there,” Riyo replied instead of Fox, her bright smile barely hiding the mischievousness sparkling in her eyes.
Before Quinlan could say anything to that, Fox grabbed the front of his tunic and unceremoniously pulled him forward until the Jedi was standing between them. He blinked, having to tilt his head up to look at Riyo because with the kaf table and the strappy heels she was wearing, for once their tiny lover was actually taller than either Quinlan or Fox.
“Huh, I don’t usually get to see you from this angle without being on my knees,” Quinlan commented, a small smirk spreading on his lips from the way Riyo flushed a little, Fox’s amused chuckles carrying from behind him.
Quinlan made a small sound when Fox pressed against his back to hug him, and Quinlan was amused to notice that he too was taller than normally thanks to the footstool.
But it wasn’t until Riyo leaned forward, wrapping her arms around both of them as best as he could, that Quinlan understood what was going on, his eyes widening in realisation.
Oh.
Oh, this was quite nice actually.
This embrace, this was how he and Fox usually held Riyo, cradling her smaller body between their much larger ones.
Quinlan felt his body relax as his lovers embraced him, slumping slightly as he did so. He couldn’t remember the last time he had felt this small, as weird as it sounded. Small and treasured, to be more accurate.
“What brought this on?” Quinlan couldn’t help but ask as he rested his head on Riyo’s breast.
She hummed, and Quinlan could feel the vibrations travel through him. “We just wanted to try something.”
“And seems like we were right,” Fox added, sounding downright smug but when he nuzzled Quinlan’s locs, it was done with pure affection.
Laughing at the cryptic replies, Quinlan let his eyes close as he basked in the warmth and love pouring from the two.
“Thank you. I didn’t realise I needed this.”
There was another hum from Riyo, her lips brushing against Quinlan’s forehead and from behind him Quinlan could feel Fox press a kiss on his shoulder.
“You’re welcome, Quin.”

See now I'm having a thought about Medic!reader who is on the tram with them and sees Tech fall. When they all wake up and Hunter ushers everyone to the ship, they stay behind and go looking for Tech and find him alive but seriously injured and unconscious.
They find a small cave and they hide out there until they know it's safe to comm someone to come and get them. Maybe Rex or Echo or Riyo🥺❤️
I just need reader softly taking care of Tech and him waking up like "you were supposed to leave."
And they say "I could never leave you."
Your choice whether the relationship is established or it's just hidden feeling that come out here❤️❤️❤️

Falling
Everything happened so fast, you almost thought it was all a dream. Or rather a nightmare.
One second you were helping provide cover as Tech worked to get the tram moving. The next he had fallen and Wrecker was working to pull him back up aboard the train.
“Don’t you do it, Tech.”
It was the pleading tone in Wrecker’s voice that had you turning from where you had taken cover. You were moving towards the back of the tram before anyone could stop you. You stopped just behind Omega and looked down to see Tech raise his head before raising his blaster.
A pit formed in your stomach as you began to panic.
No no no no no no no no
“When have we ever followed orders.”
Then he fired.
And you screamed, loudly and gutterly.
The tram jerked upright and took off, you stumbled against the wall, blinking slowly. You could hear the batch screaming at each other, but weren’t making out any of what they were saying. You only held onto your trembling hands, feeling like the edges of your vision were darkening rapidly.
You only caught the shout of needing to brace yourself, your instincts numbly forcing you to comply.
Then your vision really did go black.
When you came to, everything in your body ached. Your ribs protested every breath and you knew you were in rough shape. You gingerly lifted your head, seeing yourself surrounded by smoking wreckage.
Omega’s voice had you turning just in time to see her collapse. With a groan of effort, you climbed to your feet, hand pressing against your side. You met eyes with Hunter and he hesitated.
Please Hunter, I have to go back. You practically begged in your mind, hoping he would understand.
It looked like he was going to protest, likely saying that he couldn’t lose anyone else, but you couldn’t let him choose for you. You had to do this.
So you turned and ran as fast as your ribs would let you into the woods. You could hear Wrecker and Echo yell for you, but you didn’t stop. You’re honestly not sure how you managed to move so quickly and for so long, although you figured it was probably the adrenaline.
Eventually you fell to your knees, squeezing your eyes shut as a way of hopefully shutting out the pain. You had bacta patches in your med pack, but you refused to use any. If you found Tech and by some miracle of the Force he was alive, you knew he would need every patch you had.
After your vision cleared, you forced yourself back to your feet and continued walking in the direction of your best guess as to where Tech fell. You weren’t running anymore, but you kept a good pace, knowing that the Empire would be out looking for Tech very soon.
If you found him, you had to move quickly.
Eventually, you found what looked like wreckage from the tram. Your heart began to pound as you began to pick through it, looking for any sign of Tech.
Then you saw it. Armor.
You swallowed your nerves and forced air into your lungs as you stepped over the smoking debris. The running of water nearby and the sound of your own haggard breathing was all you could hear. You knelt beside Tech, hand hesitating. His helmet was gone and he definitely looked like he had fallen from a great distance, but it was hard to tell if he was still alive.
You pressed your fingers against the side of his neck, praying to every god or deity you knew about, begging them that he would be alive. For a few agonizing seconds, you felt nothing.
And then you felt it, the very gentle thump of his heart beat. It was weak, incredibly so, but he was alive. You almost burst into tears right then and there, but you knew the Empire was on their way if not already almost here.
You had to move. Now.
Tech was bigger than you, but you had to move him and fast. You stripped off a few pieces of armor, tossing them closer to the large river that you were near. Maybe the Empire would think he fell into the water and go searching further down the river. It would hopefully buy you both some time. Then you sat him up, placed his arms over your shoulders and stood up.
He was by no means a small man. He may be the “skinniest” in the Batch, but he was still built like a soldier, which meant that he was an incredible deadweight. Your legs shook from the effort, but you managed to hold him steady.
His helmet and goggles were missing, but you didn’t have time to go looking for them. Your sole focus was getting the both of you out of there and to a relatively safe location as fast as you could. Tech had injuries that needed to be tended to immediately. In any normal situation, you wouldn’t have moved him for fear of a neck or back injury. But you didn’t have that option.
After a quick feel of his neck, it didn’t seem like anything was broken, which was good enough for you.
You moved through the clearing, stepping around debris as best you could. Thankfully the ground wasn’t wet or muddy, so the likelihood of footprints being left behind were small. But still, you zigzagged as much as you dared, stepping where there were already indents in the grass in an effort to conceal your path.
You were two klicks away when you heard Imperial ships zoom just above the tree line over you. For one horrifying second you thought they were going to spot you, but they continued on, heading the direction you had just come from. The burning in your ribs became background noise as you tightened your grip on Tech’s arms and began to move faster.
You had been walking for what felt like hours. Every inch of your body was burning with effort and breathing was becoming more difficult. But you somehow kept going. You knew Tech was still hanging on because you could feel his soft puffs of breath against your neck. It was honestly the only thing keeping you going.
The way you carried him was far from ideal. There were many other ways that are better for medic carries in a situation like this, but considering Tech was fully unconscious, the odds of getting him up across your shoulders were small. This was the best you could do in the situation you were presented.
The elevation began to increase and the burning in your legs only intensified. You stumbled once, your heart leaping into your throat. But you managed to keep a hold of Tech and when you could breathe again, you continued walking.
As the light in the sky started to dim, you stumbled across a cave. It was hidden from the air from all the tree cover. You almost didn’t see it from the ground due to the high bushes and brush covering the entrance. It was far from ideal, but once again, it was likely the best you could do.
You only hoped there were no creatures inside who had the same idea you did.
The bushes cut into your pants as you forced your way inside, but those were minor scrapes, you had much more pressing injuries that needed tending to on Tech. You moved further into the cave, hoping to get far enough that when you started a small fire, it wouldn’t be spotted from outside. The cave had a bend and you rounded it, blinking in the darkness. Your eyes quickly adjusted and you could see that the cave continued on to the right, but there was a wall running along the back. It would do well for hiding the two of you.
Your legs shook from overuse as you carefully kneeled, turning Tech so you could gently place him on the ground. For a few seconds, you hunched over, breathing heavily.
Your entire body ached, from both the crash and the effort of carrying so much deadweight as far as you did. Your ribs made every inhale and exhale remarkably painful and you breathed as even as you could to try and lessen the pain.
When you were sure your vision was cleared, you yanked off your medpack and began to pull everything out. You pulled out a small orb and hit it, bathing the corner of the cave in a soft light. You grabbed a small flashlight and leaned over Tech, lifting up his eyelids and flashing the light. His pupils dilated as they should, which was a good sign.
You set the light down and began to search him for injuries. You scanned him and found he had a lot of broken bones, but thankfully no internal bleeding. It was a relief.
You fell into an easy trance, pulling off his armor and placing bacta patches on his worst injuries and splinting where you needed. You very quickly ran out of bacta patches, but still did your best to set everything so the bones would heal properly. When you were truly out of supplies, you covered him up with a shock blanket, placing your jacket underneath his head.
You brushed a hand across his cheek, beyond thankful that he was alive and you had been quick enough to find him.
Your troubles were far from over. You were still trapped on this planet with a severely injured trooper and your own injuries. You couldn’t stay here until you both healed, but neither of you were in any shape to fight your way out right now. You could try to call for help, but there was always a chance of it being intercepted and you both being caught anyways.
You’d have to wait for Tech to wake up to call for help. Hopefully he would be able to think of ideas on how you can get out of your predicament. But for now, you both needed to get some rest.
You wanted to lay down, but you knew once you did that you were not getting up again for a while. So you climbed to your feet and grabbed a small silent alarm you kept in your med pack before heading to the mouth of the cave around the corner. You gathered some wood from just outside the cave and set the alarm before pushing through the brush and fluffing it back up once inside.
The small fire you made didn’t take long to start.
You would have to go out for more wood very soon, but at least for now there would be some warmth for the both of you. You found a spare roll of gauze at the bottom of your pack and got to work pulling off your own armor until you were only covered by one layer of clothing. Painstakingly, you wrapped the gauze around your abdomen.
It wouldn’t do much for the broken bones, but at least you had some support. They were crudely wrapped, but it was the best you could do for now.
When you finished, you eased yourself onto the cold cave floor. Your entire body hurt and was trying to lull you into sleep. But with Tech still unconscious, you knew that someone had to stay awake.
So you started talking.
At first you talked through medical triage. You walked yourself through your training manual that you basically had memorized at this point. Then you talked through a few specific procedures you had learned along the way as a combat medic. Then when you ran out of that, you started to talk about your life. You talked about your home planet, your family, how you grew up, your hopes and dreams then, your hopes and dreams now, how you ended up joining the GAR, your first mission with the Batch and how quickly you’d come to love them like family.
You were just beginning to talk about a holodrama you and Omega were in the process of watching when you heard movement.
You stopped talking and looked over at Tech. He wasn’t awake yet, but he was starting to stir. As quickly as your ribs would allow, you sat up and moved over to where he was laying. You adjusted the blanket covering him and hovered, watching as his eyes slowly flickered open.
His eyes widened and he started to sit up, but you placed your hands on his shoulders and forced him back down.
“It’s okay. You’re safe, relatively speaking. But you have a lot of injuries, so you shouldn’t move.” You said and he blinked, taking a few deep breaths.
“You are correct. I will take your advice and remain from moving.” He replied and you let out a breath, relaxing ever so slightly. You reached forward, pulling the blanket so it more fully covered him.
“You were supposed to leave.” Tech said quietly and you let out a sigh.
You knew he was going to bring it up eventually, you had just hoped it wouldn’t be almost immediately after waking up. It shouldn’t surprise you though, this was Tech you were talking about.
You played with a seam on your sleeve that had torn in the crash. “I could never leave you.”
Silence fell for a moment and you let out a breath. Everything about this mission had gone wrong from the moment you set foot on this planet. More than anything you wished it had played out differently, but that is not what the galaxy had planned for you.
You knew Tech would likely scold you, saying the rest of the Batch’s wellbeing outweighs his own life. You knew that he was likely correct in that thinking. The needs of the many often outweigh the needs of the few.
But with Tech, you tended to throw all that out the window.
You had never admitted it to anyone before, but you’d always had a soft spot for him. It started out harmless enough. When you were assigned to work with the Batch, he was always the one that never really seemed to take care of himself. So as a medic, you took on that responsibility. You did it for all of them really, but Tech seemingly needed it the most.
Very quickly after that, your motives changed from just doing your medic duties to doing it because you cared. Then it shifted again to just plain affection. You had no idea when that grew into a crush, but it eventually did. You never said anything, and you never planned on saying anything. Your lives were all crazy enough as it is that there was no time.
And if today was any indication, it was too dangerous. Anything could happen to anyone.
Tech cleared his throat and you closed your eyes, waiting for him to tell you that you made the wrong choice.
He surprised you by placing his hand over yours.
Your eyes snapped up and you met his gaze. “Thank you. Without you, I shudder to think at what would have come of me.”
You let out a shaky breath, nodding. His hand gave yours a squeeze and made no move to let go. Not that you were complaining.
“How are you feeling? What’s your pain level?” You asked and he thought for a moment.
“I am feeling like I fell off a train.”
“Tech.”
“Apologizes. My pain is manageable. Thank you for providing me aid. Have you treated your injuries?” He asked and you nodded.
“Yes. I have.”
“You shouldn’t lie to me, cyar’ika.”
You averted your eyes as your heart thumped in your chest. “I did what I had to do. Don’t worry about me, my injuries were minor. Now you need to get some rest. The more you sleep, the quicker your injuries will heal.
“I am not tired. I have been unconscious for some time now. You, on the other hand, need to rest as well. I will wake you in a few hours, I promise.” Tech insisted and you tried to formulate an argument, but you also knew if something happened, you would also need to be rested, especially as the one currently in the best health.
He must have sensed your resistance fading because he gave your hand another squeeze. “Get some rest. Please.”
You found yourself nodding before you could say no. Tech seemed pleased with himself, but you were too tired to care. You tried to hide your wince as you sank down to the floor, but it was hard to keep your face passive. Tech didn’t comment on it though, which you appreciated.
“Two hours Tech. Wake me up in two hours.”
His hand found yours again before giving it a squeeze. “I promise.”
You tried to fight your exhaustion, but it all hit you at once. You drifted to sleep with Tech’s warm hand tightly holding yours. You didn’t know what would happpen when you woke up, but Tech was alive and so were you.
And that was enough.

So... how do I feel about the series finale?
Well, I have mixed feelings about it.
What I like about it:
1. Hemlock and Rampart's deaths - they deserve it.
2. Nala Se sacrifices her life to destroy the databank - it's a fitting fate for her.
3. Emerie survives and starts a new life. I thought she's going to die.
4. Echo gets to shine.
5. Omega causing chaos and leading the kids out of Tantiss.
6. Prison breakout like Narkina 5 situation
7. Omega hugs Crosshair.
8. Hunter, Wrecker, Crosshair, Omega and Echo survive (as predicted)
9. GILF Hunter
10. The epilogue is good - bittersweet to see Omega has grown up and chose to join the Rebellion.
But I have many issues about it:
1. Tech is actually gone... I can't believe that the crew dragged us with false hope. It is so cruel. Tech deserves a good ending!
2. There is a lack of mourning and paying tribute to Tech. He's only remember for his usefulness and intelligence, not as a loving brother. This is hurtful for the ND community.
3. The whole CX-2 identity - it turns out he's a nobody... but why so much focus on him and why so many clues pointed him to Tech? I suspect that CX-2 was supposed to be Tech, but something happened behind the scenes and changed it, but they didn't change the script. It's like they want to satisfy both Tech is Alive truthers and non Tech is Alive people - and they fail both of us.
4. What is going to happen to the Force-sensitive kids? We saw Echo and Emerie brought them on a shuttle and probably went to Pantora to meet Riyo Chuchi. I think they are later sent to Naboo (where Kelleran Beq hid Grogu?)
5. Scorch's death. I was 50/50 for his death, but I really wish they could have kept him alive.
6. Crosshair's hand gets cut off. I know people say that by losing his hand, Crosshair is forced to face his trauma. His arm was trembling, without his shooting hand, and using an unfamiliar blaster. He took a deep breath and took a leap of faith, and made the shot to save Omega. Of course, the mental trauma still remains but at least he now have the space to heal on Pabu. However, they glossed over him still dealing with trauma after returning to Pabu. I don't like that.
7. The memes and "jokes" about Crosshair losing his hand, saying "now he has lost his hand, he doesn't have to deal with his hand shaking anymore!" I struggle with anxiety and depression, and my hand was shaking before and during the finale watch - the episode was anxiety driven to me. I find the scene was giving the message "if you want to solve your anxiety, then cut off your problems!" I can't cut off my problems, and that is just ignoring the problem... it's not healing... It's made worse when I found out the Kiners made a cryptic tweet about a chef chopping off a fish's head and it was referring to Crosshair losing his hand... and they thought it was funny. I lost respect on them.
8. The CX Troopers are basically Knights of Ren - they look cool but quickly disposed of. I hate that.
9. The time jump only made me wonder what was Echo's fate. Since the Clone Rebellion didn't work, I assumed the worst that Echo died for his brothers... and if that's the case, the Bad Batch never mentioned him, as if he didn't matter to them! I also assumed Emerie died as well.
10. I already knew anything about Cody and Wolffe would be left for another series.
11. I can't believe we didn't see GILF Wrecker and Crosshair. They all three should be there to bid farewell to her.
12. Batcher became Hunter's dog... she was more of Crosshair's therapy dog...
13. I hate that they didn't explain much about Project Necromancer - the casual viewers would be so confused.
14. Corbett and Rau still played around Omega's M-Count as a mystery box even in the interviews after the finale. She is NOT Force-sensitive - it's just her blood can accept Force-sensitive blood and retain its M-Count, so it's useful to create Force-sensitive clones. They play around for too long and many people are left confused why Omega never used the Force on the Zillo Beast. I want them to confirm a "no!"
15. The Zillo Beast just left... so why the Empire needed to clone a Zillo Beast?
16. Corbett and Rau said that CX-2 was a mirror of Crosshair, then why it was Hunter who killed CX-2 instead?
17. Some Wrecker girlies feel that Wrecker is treated as a tool for his strength like Tech is treated as a tool for his intelligence. Yeah, it's messed up.
18. I find it a bit sad that Hunter, Omega, Crosshair and Wrecker just choose to settle down on Pabu when the Empire is still expanding its power.
19. They should cut off Fennec and Ventress episodes - they serve nothing to the plot.
20. So many loose threads - Why the Kaminoans created female clones? Did Crosshair really remove his inhibitor chip?
21. I don't like Hunter only has tunnel vision on Omega.
22. Omega didn't even use her energy crossbow! She didn't even bring it in the epilogue! What was the point?!
23. Rex, Gregor and Howzer are not even in the finale! Well, at least Howzer lives.
24. Crosshair saying "Clone Force 99 died with Tech". It sounds like he resents Tech and his family... which is out of character.
To be honest, I was numb about the ending. Something was off, and I could feel it. The more I process it, the more dissatisfied I feel about the ending. I have broken down crying not because I didn't get what I want, but more like I felt betrayed by the writers.
To me, the Bad Batch is about celebrating inclusivity and diversity - that we can be true to ourselves. This series has given me hope for the future that we can love ourselves and others for who they are. This dream seems impossible based on my real-life experiences, but the Bad Batch keeps me safe and nurtures my dream. Seeing the fanarts, fanfictions and headcanons have given me more hope for the future despite all the obstacles ahead. That is why I write so many Bad Batch analyses because I want to share my knowledge and findings to many people, hoping that they can understand the powerful messages from these stories that may change their lives.
I appreciate each Bad Batch member, and I can see myself in them. I want my analyses to assure other people that they are loved for who they are. I even finished the Clone Wars arc analysis hours before the series finale, because I thought that the finale would have parallels with the Clone Wars episodes. After all, the title is "The Cavalry Has Arrived", which is said by Wrecker in the Clone Wars arc. Alas, I don't feel like we have gotten that...
After some discussions and analyses, I feel that season 3 has done a disservice to the Bad Batch, and Omega is the only main character who benefits all. No hate to her, but I just wish the rest of the Bad Batch are given the same respect they deserve. The Bad Batch is an idea of George Lucas that Dave Filoni later brings them to life for Clone Wars before cancellation. I feel that Disney only prioritize characters made under the Disney Star Wars banner, and that's Omega. No hate to her. The series finale feels like Disney has disrespected the last of George Lucas' works, because I couldn't comprehend what valuable life lessons from all of these.
Moreover, to see the crew dragging us with false hope, making jokes about Tech's sacrifice and that he lives, joking about Crosshair losing his hand, remembering Tech only for his usefulness and intelligence, giving Hunter tunnel vision of Omega, sidelining Wrecker and Echo, and ruining Crosshair's character arc in the last two episodes (actually I feel that except Omega, the rest of the Bad Batch suffer from character assassination)... It feels that they never cared about us. It's like my dreams and hopes for a better future where everyone can be true to themselves have been shattered… The Bad Batch is all about celebrating inclusivity, and the crew ruined it.
Besides breaking down to tears about the constant reminder that nobody cares about my anxiety attacks, the whole talk of Tech only being remembered of his usefulness and intelligence opened wounds in my heart. Growing up, my family used my excellent grades to boost their image. My father used my grades and talents to boost how he was a great father when in fact he was rarely present in my childhood. When I was around 24, I learned from my aunt that if I wasn't smart or talented, my father would never recognized me as his child. This realization shattered my worldview and that's how I ended up in a dark place. I was there for more than a year until my epiphany about the Bad Batch pulled me out there. My father did apologize for his actions and want to make amends.
Yet... I am back in the dark place once more because of season 3... and it's been a year since I am out of the dark place... it feel worse than "Plan 99" because I felt that everything I have worked on, with my tears, sleepless nights and heavy research... has come to mean nothing... my mental struggles mean nothing... and it seems life means nothing... it's only hopelessness and the cruel, harsh reality...
Star Wars is about hope. It is a modern-day myth that George Lucas uses to uplift people's spirits. But why do I feel so... numb, empty and betrayed?
I will still stay around the Bad Batch fandom, since I always enjoy the fanfictions, fanarts, fan comics and headcanons, and I prefer them over the actual series. I will eventually write my season 3 analysis, but I still have to process it. For now, at least I make the right choice for my OC to be a Jedi, so I am going to do a "fix-it canon" then.
Will I be able to leave my dark place? Someday, yes. I believe that because Tech says, "we will find a way, like we always do." Although my wounds may take a long time to heal, I will still keep fighting. I know that I must never give up hope. I must keep fighting for that dream, no matter how impossible it seems.

Foxiyo Week Day One: Behind Enemy Lines
Commander Fox made several things very clear to his shinies. Some of them were obvious, like the importance of obeying your superiors. Or the fact that the Coruscant Guard was not just any unit of clones, but an elite one. Which meant that they would hold themselves to a even higher standard and functioned even more efficiently than groups away on the battlefield.
Other things were less obvious. Perhaps the most surprising message he drilled into them was that the senators of the Galactic Republic were not their friends. They were politicians, meaning that by their very nature they were selfish, corrupt, and power-hungry, and focused first and foremost on preserving that power. The Guard protected them and their employees, but that was because it was their job to do so. And that meant doing it the very best that they could.
Still, Fox made it clear to new recruits that these senators were not to be trusted, no matter how friendly and caring some of them may appear. Any trooper who so much as made small talk with a senator was subject to a stern talking-to, not to mention inevitable betrayal.
So yes, perhaps he had a bit of a double standard, he admitted to himself, as he was currently sitting in Senator Riyo Chuchi’s office for no reason other to to spend time with her. Riyo was currently working through a draft of a bill that she and her associates were planning on introducing, while he was reading through the previous day’s crime reports. But no one needed to know about this. And even if someone did find out, he could always say he was providing her with reports and updates on the state of Coruscant, which conceivably fell within the scope of his job. But no one would ever find out about these times that they spent together.
Taking another sip of caf, Fox looked up from his data pad and over at Senator Chuchi, who, sensing his attention, looked back at him. He gave her a warm, polite smile, which she returned  immediately. He still was stunned how beautiful and charming she could look just by raising the corners of her mouth.
This was how these get-togethers usually were. They didn’t talk much, but they loved just being able to be in each others presence. It made them both feel a bit of relief from the normally stressful environments they both worked in.
After a while, though, Fox’s com beeped, with Thire saying that a new squadron of gunships had just arrived, and were ready for inspection.
Fox stood up, gathering the few things he had brought with him. “Duty calls.”
Riyo got up from her chair and walked over to him. “Will I see you again this week?” She asked with a smile.
Fox returned the smile. “Probably. The troops seem to be doing well with our work right now.”
“Well, you have my private com channel,” she said. “So just let me know.” She put her hand on his arm. “Be safe, Commander” She said.
“You as well, Senator.” He replied.
Fox made sure to put his helmet back on before opening the door and walking out into the hall. He was immediately glad he did that, because he ran into Thorn walking in the hallway outside. Thorn glanced at him and then back towards the office from which Fox had came, as the two Commanders fell into step together.
“Did you have another meeting with Senator Chuchi?” Thorn asked, a slight hint of disbelief in his voice. He knew as well as any other other trooper how much Fox disliked politicians.
“Yes.” Fox replied quickly. “You know how she is. Always wanting to know the good and bad of what’s happening around Coruscant.”
“Yeah, so I’ve heard. Doesn’t it get to you having to update her almost every week?”
“Its part of the job. Not that big of a deal.” Fox said, hoping Thorn would drop it.
“Still,” Thorn said chuckling. “We all know how you feel about the senators. The men always say that going into a politicians office is like going behind enemy lines.”
“Well, it does feel like that sometimes” Fox said as they boarded the elevator. And with most of the senators, it genuinely did. In the case of Senator Chuchi, however, Fox never felt anything close to that. But for now, at least, no one needed to know that.

Between the idea and the reality
Between the motion and the act
Falls the Shadow
—T. S. Eliot, “The Hollow Men”
cerulean-senator: Would you rather fight one rancor-sized tooka or ten tooka-sized rancors?
Echo grinned as he typed a response.
ur-fav-cyborg:That’s easy. I’ve already encountered a rancor-sized rancor, so I know the secret to defeating them. They’re hierarchical by nature, so I would rather fight the ten tooka-sized rancors and set them against each other. When they established which one was the alpha, I would challenge it for supremacy. My turn: would you rather eat nothing but dessert for a week, or no dessert for a year?
There was a pause as he waited for Riyo to respond. Rex and Cerra were debating the technical specifications they needed in their ship for the Balmorra mission. Echo and Rex had determined that their best chance of success was to extract Howzer when he was being transported. Rex’s mysterious contact hadn’t known exactly when that would happen, but had said it was inevitable. They’d pored over blueprints of the Gozanti-class cruisers that were being used as prisoner transports as they’d formulated a battle plan.
“What about a leech vessel?” Cerra asked. “Two points of entry.”
“That… could work,” Echo said. “Dock with the main vessel as a diversion, and then breach the hull with the leech.”
“We’d have to divide our forces,” Rex said.
“The pilot would have to stay with the ship anyway,” Echo pointed out. “Gregor can keep their troops occupied at the docking port while the extraction team boards from the leech.”
“Flank ‘em and spank ‘em,” Cerra said, tapping her beer bottle against Rex’s.
“Always so eloquent,” Rex teased as he took a swig.
“I learned from the best, and he learned from you,” she said with a grin. “You’re like my tactical granddaddy.”
“I thought you said I was a youngling,” Rex said.
“Granddaddy is a state of mind,” Cerra shrugged.
She slouched on the sofa with her boot-clad feet propped on the holotable, and Echo had the brief, tangential thought that Tech would have an aneurysm if he could witness it.
His comm chirped, and he checked the message immediately.
cerulean-senator: Wait, when did you fight a rancor? That sounds like a story worth hearing.
ur-fav-cyborg: I’ll tell you all about it next time I see you. Now quit stalling and answer the question, Riyo.
The reply was immediate and indignant.
cerulean-senator: I wasn’t stalling! I was thinking. I do like dessert, but a week of nothing but sugar might put me in a coma. I’ll have to say I’d rather go a year without desserts. Would you rather kiss a Gungan or a Wookiee?
ur-fav-cyborg: That depends. Are we talking a mouth kiss, or just a quick peck on the cheek?
cerulean-senator: Full-on mouth kiss, with tongue.
ur-fav-cyborg: In that case, I’d rather kiss a Pantoran.
cerulean-senator: You’re not going to charm your way out of answering the question, trooper.
ur-fav-cyborg: Worth a shot. Fine. Assuming consent from all parties involved, and given the knowledge that Gungan tongues are nearly a meter in length—which would present a high probability of death by choking—and considering that I’ve met some very nice Wookiees who almost certainly wouldn’t rip off my one remaining arm, I would rather kiss a Wookiee. But only if the Pantoran is unavailable.
“Care to share the joke, Echo?” Rex asked.
“Sorry, sir,” Echo said, stashing his commlink away.
“You know, we’re not in the GAR any more,” Cerra said. “He’s allowed to check his comm in meetings.”
Echo glanced quickly at Cerra, surprised that she had defended him. Rex sighed, and Echo immediately felt guilty.
“You're right,” Rex admitted. “Old habits are hard to break, but what are we fighting for if not the right to live our lives as we choose?”
Echo wasn’t sure what to say. Freedom was a complex thing to navigate when he’d been trained his entire life to follow orders. It was different with the Batch; they had always had a more relaxed dynamic, and all the members were accustomed to speaking their minds freely, even if the ultimate command decision defaulted to Hunter. But this was Rex, who’d saved Echo’s life more times than he could count, who’d been his longest-standing commanding officer, who’d hand picked him to join the 501st, who’d recommended him for ARC training, who’d believed in him against all odds, who’d fought to bring him back from Skako Minor when everyone else had written him off. Every instinct Echo possessed screamed for him to obey the captain.
Suddenly, he recalled something he’d overheard Cerra tell Rex. “He trusts you so much that he’ll do whatever you order.” Gregor had said something similar when he confronted Rex after the disastrous mission to 79’s. There was something about Rex that inspired absolute loyalty in his soldiers. The problem was, they weren’t just soldiers any more. Perhaps Riyo was right, and they had always been more than that.
Cerra stood and stretched. “I don’t know about you boys, but I could use some food.”
“Good luck finding anything,” Rex said as she dug through the kitchen cabinets. “I cleared out the conservator last night.”
“We have ration bars,” Cerra said. “I can’t wait ‘til Gregor gets back so we can eat some decent food again. Want anything, Echo?”
“I could eat,” Echo admitted. “Are we finished here?”
“I’ve got what I need to start looking for a ship,” Cerra said. “Rex?”
“We’ve done as much as we can with our current intel,” Rex replied.
Cerra tossed them each a ration bar, and when Echo’s comm chirped again, he checked it, careful to maintain a neutral expression.
cerulean-senator: Solid reasoning all around, but now I have blackmail material in the form of written proof that you want to kiss a Wookiee.
ur-fav-cyborg: Only under duress. Now it’s my turn: would you rather be too hot or too cold?
cerulean-senator: That’s easy! I would rather be too cold. You can do all sorts of fun things to warm up.
ur-fav-cyborg: Such as?
cerulean-senator: Drinking caf, wearing cozy sweaters, snuggling in front of a fireplace—and other things.
ur-fav-cyborg: What kinds of other things?
cerulean-senator: That’s for me to know and you to find out. My turn: would you rather have dinner with me or breakfast with me?”
ur-fav-cyborg: Both.
cerulean-senator: Great! When is a good day for you?
Echo choked on his ration bar and dropped his comlink. It skittered across the floor and came to rest against Rex’s boot. The captain arched one eyebrow and handed the comlink back to Echo without a word. Echo took it and sent a quick response.
ur-fav-cyborg: After the next mission?
cerulean-senator: Sounds perfect. I’ll meet you there and we’ll see where the night takes us.
Echo smiled and tucked his comlink away. Turning to Cerra, he asked, “Is your hand healed enough to spar?”
She nodded. “I’ve been wanting to practice those moves you showed me. Would you rather be my partner or my coach?”
“I’ll coach if Rex will partner with you,” Echo said. “Sparring is a little tricky with my prosthetics.”
“Rex?” Cerra asked.
“Only if you go easy on me,” Rex replied. “Remember, I’m a grandfather.”
Cerra snorted. “Sure, grandpa. When I fail to land a single hit on you, it’ll be because I’m going easy on an old man.”
Despite her self-deprecation, Echo found that Cerra was a decently competent fighter. It was true that she was far outmatched by Rex, but most opponents she was likely to face would not be genetically engineered supersoldiers with years of combat experience. She had good form and technique, and she took direction well. With a blaster and a few modifications to her armor, Echo suspected that she would be able to hold her own against a wide range of adversaries.
Just as Echo was contemplating the best armor mods to augment Cerra’s reach and upper body strength, Rex took her to the ground and pinned her. She tapped out immediately, contradicting Rex’s claim that she didn’t know how to back down from a fight. Rex stood and pulled her to her feet.
“Again,” Echo ordered. “And Cerra, remember what I showed you.”
She nodded and snapped into a fighting stance at once. Rex tested her defenses a few times, light punches to see how well she could block. He moved with rigid control, never taking it too far and risking hurting her. It was very different from the way Echo had been trained. ARC trooper training had been brutal and no-holds-barred. There was a very good reason that so few clones successfully passed, and that was that the training was extreme even by the Kaminoans’ standards. A nat-born wouldn’t just fail; they would very likely be killed or permanently debilitated.
“Attack, Cerra,” Echo ordered. “You can’t just dance around him all day.”
She hesitated, and Rex saw his opening. His fist darted past her block and tapped her jaw. It wasn’t hard enough to hurt, just to get her attention. She tightened her stance and returned the hit, albeit too slowly. Rex blocked her effortlessly.
“Like I showed you, Cerra,” Echo said. “Do it.”
“I don’t want to hurt him,” she panted.
Rex smirked. “You won’t.”
“That’s not Rex,” Echo snapped sternly. “That’s an enemy. Take him down, now. He’s going to hurt you. He’s going to hurt Tup.”
Cerra gasped and dropped her fists. Rex struck just as Cerra turned, his blow connecting much harder than he’d intended. Cerra staggered backward.
“Kark!” Rex exclaimed. “Are you all right?”
Cerra’s large, wounded eyes weren’t looking at Rex, though. She stared at Echo instead. A trickle of blood dripped from her lip, but she didn’t seem to notice.
“How do you know that name?” she asked, her voice shaken.
“You called Fireball Tup the other night,” Echo said, taken aback. “I thought it was a friend of yours.”
Cerra spun and stalked out of the sparring ring, not stopping until the barracks door slid closed behind her. Echo turned to Rex, whose mouth was set in a grim line.
“Tup was Fives’s best friend after Umbara,” Rex said quietly. “The three of them were more than close. They were inseparable. Cerra thought of Tup as her little brother, and he was the first she lost. And a few days later, she lost Fives, too.”
“Kriff,” Echo breathed. “I had no idea.”
“She keeps to herself,” Rex said. “Probably more than she should.”
“Why?” Echo asked bluntly.
Rex sighed. “Cerra is a soldier, but she’s not like us clones. We’ve always had each other, even when we didn’t have anyone else. But Cerra’s family turned on her when she needed them most. It’s not easy for her to trust.”
“I thought she told Gregor everything,” Echo said.
“She doesn’t even tell me everything,” Rex replied enigmatically.
Echo remembered now that even Gregor had not recognized Tup’s name the night that Cerra mistakenly called Fireball by it.
“Kriff,” he said again. “I need to apologize.”
“Better give her some space,” Rex counseled. “If I know Cerra, she’d rather just pretend none of this happened. She’ll be all right.”
“That doesn’t seem like the healthiest way of dealing with it,” Echo said.
“Do you want to be the one who tells her that?” Rex asked.
“Fair point,” Echo acknowledged. “Maybe I’ll take the speeder bike and get some air.”
Echo strode out of the garage and hopped onto the speeder bike, riding without paying much attention to where he was going. He avoided the Federal District, and after a while, he piloted the bike to the top of a ramshackle skyscraper. Maybe sometime long ago it had been a beautiful and prestigious edifice like 500 Republica, but now it was crumbling. Still, it had an expansive view of the city and the setting sun, and he parked the speeder on the roof after a quick recon determined it to be abandoned.
He stared out across the city of trillions, hating how alone he felt. He couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to Fives’s death than Rex had told him. They were soldiers. Cerra was a soldier. They were accustomed to losing people—it hurt like hell, but they knew the risks. What had happened to carve that deep well of pain in Cerra’s eyes? What was Rex not telling him? On impulse, he holocommed Riyo.
“Hello, Echo,” she said with a smile. “This is a nice surprise.”
“Is this a good time?”
“Yes,” she said. “I’m done with work for the day, and I’ve just finished eating dinner. I’m all yours for as long as you want me. Is everything all right?”
Kriff, she was pretty. Her full lips curved in an alluring smile, and the sparkle in her golden eyes was visible even through the shaky hologram.
“Yes,” he said. “Everything is fine. I just wanted to see you.”
“I didn’t think you got many opportunities to be alone,” she said.
“I don’t, but I needed some air. Cerra and Rex are back at the garage.”
“And where are you?” she asked.
“I’m not sure,” he frowned. “On top of some abandoned building in a part of the city where I would never bring you.”
“Is that safe?” she asked, concerned.
“I’m not worried,” he said.
“I’m a little worried,” she said. “Why don’t you come to my flat?”
Echo was startled. “Are you sure?”
“There’s a private landing platform that accesses my suite at the Pantoran embassy. I’m sending the coordinates and access code now.”
“In that case, I’ll see you soon,” he said.
Tumblr media
Riyo paced in her suite, unaccountably nervous. It was strange; she could easily give a speech to tens of thousands of senators and dignitaries, but as she checked and rechecked her reflection to make sure her hair wasn’t doing anything strange and she didn’t have anything stuck in her teeth, her body filled with jittery energy. She smoothed her hands over her blouse, trying to brush away some of the wrinkles it had accumulated after a long day of committee sessions and meetings with constituents.
The door chimed. Not the main door; the private entrance at the back of her suite. A quick glance at the security holocams revealed Echo, helmeted and in full armor. Riyo’s heart lodged in her throat as she hurried to admit him. The door slid open, and Echo removed his helmet.
“Hello,” she said, feeling suddenly shy.
“Ma’am,” he said with a formal nod, and she realized this was just as awkward for him. Somehow, that eased her nerves.
“Please come in,” she said.
He glanced quickly around the room as he entered, and she wondered if he was looking for threats. It must be practically instinctive for him by now. His eyes came to rest on her, and he gave her a small, gentle smile that sent warmth tingling through her.
“Thank you for the invitation,” he said.
“Of—of course!” she stammered. “You seemed like you might need to talk to a friend.”
“Is that what we are?” he asked. “Friends?”
“I hope so,” she said.
“I hope so, too,” he replied. “But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t hope we could also be more. Is that something you want?”
There was something refreshing about his directness, accustomed as she was to the doublespeak and prevarication of her fellow politicians.
“I think you know the answer,” she said.
“I need to hear you say it,” he replied, taking a step closer to her.
Oh, stars, he smells amazing.
“Yes,” she whispered.
He raised his hand to her face, trailing his fingers along her jaw, brushing his thumb over her lips. She swallowed thickly as her breath became shallow and fast. She closed the space between them, tilting her head back to meet his gaze.
“You have the most beautiful eyes,” she said softly.
He slid his hand to the back of her head, fingers threading into her hair, and then he kissed her. His lips were soft and warm, and Riyo let out a quiet, involuntary moan as his tongue brushed against hers. She felt as though she were drowning in him—his taste, his scent, his touch. When their lips parted, she gradually became aware that her arms had wrapped around him, seemingly of their own volition, as she had explored his armored body with her hands. He was holding her, too, his prosthetic arm wrapped firmly around her waist, and he traced a path down her throat with his thumb.
His gaze roamed over her, taking in the way her lips parted and her breasts rose and fell with each quick breath, the way her wide eyes gave away too many of her thoughts, and she felt vulnerable, exposed, as though he had laid bare her entire soul. Look away, her mind begged. Don’t let him see. It’s too soon for you to feel this way. What if he thinks you’re a pathetic little girl with a silly crush? He could destroy you, grind your heart beneath his heel and leave you a mangled, bloody mess.
But somehow, as she looked deeply into his eyes, she knew that he would never, ever do that. That he would carry her heart as carefully and securely as he did his own. And so, she traced her hands lightly down his chest plate until she reached the belt that held up his heavy kama and unbuckled it with a deft movement. Next, she slipped her fingers beneath the shoulder straps of his cuirass until she found the clips that held the two pieces together, and one by one, she teased them open. She removed the plates carefully, setting them aside, and then stroked her palms down his chest and abdomen, feeling the firm, wiry muscles beneath the dark red fabric of his jacket.
He watched her with undisguised hunger, and when she stood on her tiptoes to lick the bit of exposed skin at the top of his neck, he snapped, pulling her body tightly against his and crushing his lips to hers in a ravenous kiss. He walked her backward until she pressed against the wall, and when he rocked his hips against her, she could feel the rigid length of his cock through their clothing.
“Oh, stars,” she panted, breaking away from his lips. But he didn’t end the kiss; he worked his mouth across her jaw and down her throat, licking and biting and sucking gently on her skin, and the sounds she made would have embarrassed her if she hadn’t been so aroused. “Don’t stop, Echo, please don’t stop.”
She felt his hand cup her breast and dimly wondered when he’d unbuttoned and slipped her blouse off her arms, but it didn’t matter, because he was making his way down her chest with that incredible, talented mouth of his, and then he was kneeling in front of her, and when he sucked her nipple into his mouth, her legs nearly gave out. She tugged at his pauldrons until they clattered to the floor, and then she felt the waistband of her trousers loosen and the fabric slide down her hips, leaving her utterly exposed.
Echo paused long enough to bite down on the fingertip of his glove and yank it off, and then Riyo felt the smooth, glorious slide of his skin against hers as he grasped her inner thigh and glided his hand upwards. She cradled his head in her hands as he sucked on her breasts, and when his fingertips brushed over her sex and felt her slippery arousal, he groaned against her.
“Fuck, Riyo,” he said, sitting back on his heels to take in the sight of her. “Look how beautiful you are. So, so kriffing beautiful.”
He leaned forward until he was nearly pressed against her, but before he touched her, he raised his eyes to her face.
“Is this all right?” he asked, his honey-gold eyes wide and serious.
“Yes, please yes,” she said. “Please, Echo, I need you to—oohh—”
Her brain skidded to a halt and took her power of speech with it as Echo slid his tongue into her, latching his lips over her cunt.
“Fuck!” she gasped, her voice barely a breath. “Gods, fuck, I can’t—”
He dropped lower and leaned forward, stroking his scomplink up the inside of her calf and encouraging her to drape her leg over him. His height made it a little difficult for her to reach, but once Riyo rested her thigh on his shoulder, he moved in between her legs, his tongue diving deep inside her as his thumb traced firm circles around her clit, not pressing directly on the sensitive flesh, but finding the perfect rhythm to drive all the thoughts from her head. Quiet grunts of pleasure escaped him, as though he had never tasted anything so delicious in his life.
Riyo was less controlled than Echo. She tried to keep her voice down so as not to draw the attention of the guards outside the doors of her suite, but she couldn’t suppress her whimpers and gasps as Echo devoured her like a man starved. Her leg trembled as pleasure swirled tightly through her body. Echo flattened his palm against her belly and slid up her body to cup her breast, squeezing gently and rolling her nipple between his thumb and forefinger. He gazed worshipfully up at her from between her thighs, and she locked eyes with him as the pressure in her abdomen finally snapped and sent her hurtling into ecstasy.
Her body crumpled, but Echo caught her, clamping his hand firmly over her mouth to muffle her cries, even as he wrecked her over and over with his mouth. At last, when he had wrung every last shuddering drop of pleasure out of her body, he lowered her onto his lap and wrapped her comfortingly in his arms, stroking his hand gently across her skin.
“That’s it, love,” he whispered in her ear. “That’s my lovely girl. You look so beautiful like this. You make such pretty sounds when you come. I hated to stop you. I wanted to hear every little moan and gasp and scream. Next time, love.”
Riyo shook her head. “Bedroom,” she gasped. “Soundproof.”
Echo smiled. “Lead the way.”
Tumblr media
Cerra didn’t look up when the barracks door opened. The mattress shifted as Rex sat next to her on the bunk. He leaned close to peer at the holo she held.
“Was that at 79’s?” he asked.
“Yeah,” she said.
In the picture, Tup’s long hair tumbled around his shoulders as Cerra hugged him close. They were both laughing uproariously as Fives made a crude gesture at the holocam. She remembered the night with crystal clarity, even though they’d all just done a round of shots with Jesse and Kix when Kix snapped the holo. Jesse had been teasing Tup about his non-regulation hair and had threatened to shave it off next time Tup fell asleep.
“Never!” Cerra had exclaimed, shrieking with laughter as she wrapped her arms around Tup’s head. “I’ll protect you, Tup!”
“Kix took this about five minutes before we all got bounced for being too loud,” Cerra said. “I’m honestly surprised we didn’t end up in the Corrie drunk tank.”
Rex cupped Cerra’s chin in his hand and tilted her face toward him. “Do you need bacta?”
She shook her head. “I’ll be fine.”
He leaned in to confirm that she wasn’t seriously injured then stroked along her jaw. “You’re going to have a nice bruise. Gregor is going to kick my ass when he finds out how you got it.”
“I’ll tell him I had an argument with the speeder, and the speeder won,” she said. “It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve dropped a vehicle on myself.”
“I’m sorry I hit you,” he said.
“No need to apologize, Rex. I know it was an accident.”
“Echo didn’t mean to hurt you, either,” Rex said in a low voice.
“I know,” she said. “It’s fine. I just wasn’t expecting it. I’ll talk to him in a bit.”
“He took the bike out for a spin,” he said. “It’s just us for now.”
“Just like the bad old days,” she said with the faintest flicker of humor. “Maker forbid.”
Rex had slept like the dead for more than half a day, but he still looked exhausted: the kind of bone-deep weariness that could never be cured by a mere few hours of extra rest. She wondered if she looked like that, too. His thigh felt reassuringly warm and solid as it pressed along her leg, and she shifted a little, seeking the comfort of his touch.
His breath ghosted softly across her skin, and she swayed unconsciously closer to him, close enough to see the individual hairs of the stubble on his jaw, close enough to smell the soap they all shared on his skin. His thumb traced back down her cheek, and when she raised her eyes, his gaze was riveted to her mouth.
“I’m not him, Cerra,” he whispered.
“I know,” she said quietly. “And I’m not her.”
At last, Rex dragged his eyes away from her mouth and shot her a rueful smile. “Quite a pair, aren’t we?”
She tried and failed to return his smile, then closed her eyes as he dropped his forehead to rest against hers.
“Rex?” she asked without opening her eyes.
“Hmm?”
“Do you ever think about giving up?”
“Every day,” he said. “You?”
“Every day.”
“Do you think you will?” he asked.
“Never.”

Tech's date (a bad batch modern au one-shot)
Ages:
Hunter: 32
Wrecker: 32
Crosshair: 31
Cobalt: 30
Tech: 28
Phee: 30
Trix: 33
One Friday evening Hunter, Wrecker, Crosshair, Tech, Trix and Cobalt were sitting in the living room playing a round of poker.
"I win, read e'm and weep." Crosshair smirked.
The others all grumbled but handed over their credits.
"So, you guys got any plans for the weekend?" Trix asked.
"Martha and I are taking the kids to the aquarium tomorrow." Cobalt said.
"James and I are going for a hike tomorrow and Katie and Cynthia are going to the beauty parlor." Wrecker said.
"Got a date with Riyo tomorrow night." Trix said.
"I don't have any plans." Tech said.
"Actually Tech, you might." Cobalt said.
"What do you mean?" Tech asked confused.
"Well an old friend of mine from high school is in town, her name is Phee." Cobalt said.
"You talked to girls in high school?" Tech smirked.
"ooooh." the others all exclaimed at once.
"Oh no he didn't."Wrecker said smirking.
Cobalt scoffed.
"As a matter of fact I did." Cobalt said massaging his wounded pride.
"So what does this have to do with me?" Tech asked confused.
"Well we got to talking and I may have set you up on a date with her tomorrow night." Cobalt said.
"You what!" Tech hissed, Crosshair grabbing his arm to hold him down.
"Just hear me out okay, when we were talking yesterday I brought up all of you, when I talked about you she said to me "I'd certainly like to meet him" and so, I may have arranged for you to meet her tomorrow night." Cobalt said.
"Why would you do that?" Tech asked.
"I'm just saying it wouldn't kill you to get out a bit more, Phee's a lovely woman, worst case is she doesn't show up." Cobalt said.
Tech sighed audibly.
"Fine, I'll meet her, but if this doesn't go well I promise you Cobalt I will never let you hear the end of it." Tech said.
"I can live with that." Cobalt nodded.
The next evening:
After a nice shower Tech dressed himself for the date and despite his nerves Tech had to admit he was curious about this woman Cobalt had told him about.
Cobalt had told him the restaurant he was to meet Phee at and to his credit it was a very nice one.
After getting ready Tech headed to the front door and opened the door only for a very bright light to hit him square in the eyes.
After his eyes adjusted he was greeted by the horrific sight of his entire family standing on the front lawn, Crosshair holding a camera in his hands.
"What's this about?" Tech asked extremely confused.
"Oh just documenting this very rare occasion, our little Tech is going on his first date." Crosshair said with a massive smirk as he took another picture.
"So you invited the entire family?" Tech asked.
"Well duh." Crosshair said.
Tech just scoffed and walked down the street on his way to the restaurant Cobalt had mentioned.
When he arrived he sat down at the table that Cobalt had reserved for them, Phee hadn't arrived yet so he decided to study the menu.
"Hello, is your name Tech?" A voice asked.
Tech looked up and was slightly startled.
A young woman was smiling brightly at him, Tech was embarrassed to admit he could feel himself blushing profusely, his face heating up.
"I-Uh yes, Phee may I presume?" Tech said adjusting his glasses.
"Yep, nice to meet you." Phee said smiling warmly at him as she sat down.
The two ordered food and throughout the course of the date Tech had to admit he rather enjoyed Phee's company and he couldn't help but hope she felt the same way.
After an admittedly pleasant dinner the two talked for a while before deciding to call it an evening.
Tech walked Phee to her car which was parked just down the road.
"So Tech, if I may ask, there's a showing of pirates of the carribean at the movies next week, fancy coming along?" Phee asked.
Tech adjusted his glasses nervously as he thought for a moment before nodding.
"Yes, that sounds lovely." Tech nodded.
Phee smiled.
"Till next time...brown eyes." Phee said before getting into her car and driving away leaving a blushing Tech to watch her go.
