What kind of clothes would Vasco wear after Machete's death? He tends to wear bright and warm colors, and I was wondering if he would start wearing dark and cool colors to reflect his inner state

I also had thought that he might start to veer towards more somber shades. In reality, late 16th century fashion was dominated by dark colors, if you look at portraits from late renaissance/early baroque eras you quickly notice that pitch black was the most fashionable color (compare that to early and high renaissance fashion from 1400 to 1550 which was visibly more vibrant and colorful). I might be bending the timeline a little bit by having him dress in vivid blues with gold accents, but it's his signature style and I think it mirrors his luminous, free-spirited and approachable personality well. After Machete's death he might've experienced a period where jewel tones had lost their luster to him.

📑  This kind of secretary is both the bane of Wriothesely's existence and a huge help. A huge help because, well, they're his secretary, and he has far less work on his plate than he would have had without them. As for being the bane of his existence; the Duke of Meropide has hardly any free time. Sure, he can relieve his work stress through his fists, but the sexual frustration that's been building since his secretary was hired can't be relieved in that way, making him unfocused and irritable. It's gotten to the point of him having wet dreams of them at least once a week and eyeing up their legs and behind from across the room. Wriothesley has to stop himself and forcefully think about tea and melusines for his mind to stop its descent into the degenerate territory.

📑  It also doesn't help that his secretary knows how they make him feel and think and indulges it. Standing leaned over their desk and displaying their rear to him and ‘absentmindedly’ swaying their hips back and forth instead of just sitting in their chair. Making sure to leave the top four buttons of their silken white shirt open so that Wriothesley can see the expanse of their smooth, unblemished chest. Looking at him with hooded bedroom eyes, whenever they set down documents for him to sign or the tea he requested. The lingering touches that they leave on his shoulders, chest, and arms whenever they leave after a conversation. All things to keep him high-strung, yet they act all coy as if they hadn't done anything at all.

📑  Of course, whenever Sigewinne comes into their shared office, the antics immediately stop, which the Duke is both thankful for and annoyed with. It's good that his secretary has the self-control to stop themselves from doing anything inappropriate in a public space or around unrelated people. But at the same time, the melusine keeps on making comments about how tense the two are and asking if they fought; while his secretary pretends they didn't do all of what caused him to be so tense all the time.

Slender hands dropping onto his shoulders and nimble fingers kneading his flesh cause Wriothesley to flinch. Yet he quickly, albeit involuntarily, relaxes under the skilled ministrations as he leans back in his chair with a quiet sigh. The smell of the assailant's cologne, a crisp cinnamon and vanilla fragrance, easily identifies them as his secretary.

“Dear me, Your Grace, you're so tense~ Did the visit with our little archon not go as you wished~?”  

[Name] purred just an inch from Wriothesley's ear, fanning it with his warm breath; pulling a suppressed shiver and a choppy exhale from the man.

The Duke gives the bespectacled man a side glare as his ears flush a barely noticeable pink. The secretary gives an amused chuckle in return; hands still busy at the other's shoulders and fingers practically dissolving every knot they find.

“You know…–”  

[Name] starts as he removes one of his probing hands from Wriothesley's shoulder and trails the other along the man's back as he makes his way in front of him and takes a seat on his desk, crossing one leg over the other and resting a foot on the man's lap.

“–I could always give you a full body massage, your grace. Work all that tightness out~”  

The bespectacled man slyly suggested as he slowly ran his heeled shoe up the duke's thigh and towards his crotch; biting his lip and watching the man's face with hooded eyes.

Wriothesley grits his teeth and quickly grabs onto [Name]’s ankle, pulling upwards off his lap and forcefully uncrossing the other's legs before he stands from his chair. The Duke, towering over his secretary as he stood to his full height and slotted himself between smaller's legs, fixes him with a cold yet heated gaze. His large gloved hand found its way to [Name]’s face and gripped the other's jaw, forcing them to look up at him.

“[Name].–”  

Wriothesley groaned, his throat tight with both annoyance and desire.

“–My patience can only last so much longer. You should move, you're wrinkling my paperwork.”  

The Duke finishes, yet he doesn't move himself til he lets them get down from his desk, and instead grabs the bespectacled man's waist with his unoccupied hand and gives it a firm squeeze; letting the silk-covered skin protrude from the spaces between his thick fingers.

“Oh~? How much longer until your patients run out completely, I wonder. When it's all gone–”  

[Name] pauses as he runs his hands up the tight shirt that hid Wriothesley's muscular chest from his leading eyes and loosely wraps his arms around the man's neck.

“Will you punish me~? Hm? Give me a spanking and set me straight~?”

How do you think the rest of the Batfam reacts to Jaytim finally happening (something along the lines of your secretary fic) ?

I think Cass knew how they felt before them, Damian is disgusted (but secretly pleased), Dick found out by walking in on them at Tim’s apartment, and Bruce had no idea and has none until Jason tells him point blank. Alfred? Somehow orchestrated the whole thing.

Ohoho, that is a fun question, and one that I often have trouble answering because I am like a horse with blinders on when it comes to my hyperfixations and my ships OTL Jason and Tim usually get the brunt of my obsessive analysis, leaving only minimal room for other characters to squeeze their way in. RIPeroni you two ❤️

That being said, I'm a huge liar because I do actually have some Thoughts lol

It largely depends on the state of the verse we're in and how involved the others were in watching their courtship go down, so without further adieu, here's how I think the batfam would react to finding out about jaytim's newly minted relationship in my secretary!au fic:

So in Secretary!AU in particular, the others weren't involved to an almost suspicious degree 😳 Tim is losing his mind for a month over Jason daylighting as his secretary, and he never finds out anything resembling the truth from anyone? What??

Which of course means some of them were simply unaware because they don't give a shit or assume Tim isn't suffering (Damian, Duke, Bruce) and some ARE aware to some degree that this is unusual and came to their own conclusions. And promptly decided to stay out of it (Dick, Babs, Steph, Cass, Alfred - Duke might actually be here, it depends lol)

In particular, Steph hears Tim's mini rant/breakdown Day 1 and is simply too amused. Because she watched him suddenly start deflecting Jason's attention 3 months ago, and oh boy does this feel like a comeuppance. She's got popcorn and is asking things like, 'i dunno Tim, why do you think Jason followed you to the office where you have to reliably be?' and after all of it, when he shows up with a hickey after patrolling with Jason that night, she golf claps at him

Cass shrugs at Tim when he vents where she can hear, because she's been waiting for them to figure this out for like. A year now. She is surprised when Tim had his Jason-shaped epiphany because she knows that Tim has been Into Jason ever since that time in the park with Poison Ivy, and Jason called him a princess for getting particular about decon. (Similarly, Cass also knew that Jason has been low-key into Tim since the time before that, when Tim ugly laughed so hard at a joke Jason made at Dick's expense that he nearly inhaled a french fry). When they get together, she is standing next to Steph, also golf clapping because Steph told her it would be funny

Dick had to listen to Jason complain about Tim ghosting him a month or two into it (Jason and Dick were in each other's vicinity and Jason asked how Tim was doing. Dick said he was 'fine, why?' And Jason scowled and muttered, 'No reason. Feel like he's been dodging me, is all' and a tiny red alert pinged in the back of Dick's head) so when he hears that Jason is at Wayne Tower and that Tim is having vent sessions about it with Steph, his eyebrows shoot waaaay up. He kind of hopes that the Tower is still standing after Jason's done getting whatever vengeance he has in mind (Jason's prank war game is both legendary and unhinged). When he finds out what actually transpires (or rather, guesses what transpired), he has a small moment of relief because 'oh phew, is that all?' and then immediately BSODs because 'WAIT WHAT, IS THAT WHY YOU GUYS ARE CLAPPING--'

Babs quietly figured out why Tim was panicking pretty early because no one ghosts someone for having a good, fun, tbh flirty relationship for literally any other reason. She wondered vaguely if Jason was going to a) clock it and then b) do anything about it, and then equally quietly paused auto-uploads on Wayne Tower office footage so that she could make Tim review it instead. She simply Will Not be the one to log the data from Monday morning, thanks.

Damian did not and does not give a fuck. He briefly questions Todd's sanity. Then immediately discards that thought because it's Todd. He would like Grayson to quit yelling at that octave though, because his 'i'm secretly happy for you but also hurt that you didn't confide in me' shouting is very grating and makes Damian nervous.

Duke I'm on the fence about, but I lean towards 'i was sitting over on the bench' for him. He was so busy Staying In His Lane that he simply did not notice that this was happening. 'Uh, congrats, I guess?'

Bruce was keeping tabs on the situation. He does not plan to review the footage either. He has ten more gray hairs than he did yesterday, and is pondering how their relationship might affect their performance in the field, but trusts that Tim has likely thought through the ramifications and likely scenarios that should need to be compensated for. (Being involved with your teammate can be frightening and stressful; it could lead to strain between the two of you, and opens new vulnerabilities up for exploitation. But it can also be deeply, deeply rewarding. Hm.) (also shout-out to the one commenter who theorized that Bruce was the one on the other end of the phone call that Jason yanked the cord on. LMAO. ROFL, even.)

Alfred defuses the tension in the cave by reminding everyone to please finish their reports, and that there are refreshments in the dining room upstairs when they are finished, should anyone be joining the household for dinner tonight. He is very pointedly looking at Jason and Tim when he says this, because they Will be joining the household for dinner tonight, because it is the duty and privilege of a grandfather to tease his grandson (Jason) for having a boyfriend (Tim). Idk if Alfred called it in quite the same way as Cass, but he knew there was something interpersonal they needed to work out, and also that Tim has had a crush on Robin for his Entire Life, so he's not exactly surprised.

Thanks for the ask @mirigold-mayflowers! I assume you’re talking about “If you Give a Bat a Burger” by @noir-renard and this thread started by @some-rotten-nest.

I’m sad to say that I haven’t been able to read through “If You Give a Bat a Burger” in its entirety yet. I’ve tried but never finished. From the parts I have read it’s a very interesting story. A bit on the darker and angstier end compared to my usual tastes but well written and very interesting from the parts I have read. It’s a very well regarded piece of work in the dc x dp fandom so I hope to finish it eventually.

As for the Secretary Danny AU, I think it’s peak collaborative storytelling. The original post is hilarious and it only builds from there. I think it’s a really fun concept and something I totally enjoy. Hijinks and shenanigans all the way! The secretary job is a fun position to put Danny in and this au explores his relationships with existing canon characters as well as the dcu characters. Lots of fun and different branching ideas but also general consensus.

Both are great part of the dc x dp community and I enjoy both of them!

⚠️IMPORTANT INFO⚠️

So some sad news (not anything depressing) but I've decided to move on from this blog, and going to delete it. If there's ANYONE who wants to take my stuff and repost it (even In the form of screen shots) to their own blogs (even if it's multiple people) PLEASE DM ME~ I'll be trying to make a Google doc with all the posts I've made.

I will be Deleting this blog by the end of June, unless someone wants to take it over for me.

I understand there's a lot of people who have sent me asks that we're never answered, and this breaks my heart, but I've simply lost interest in this blog. I'm going to miss it, and even as I type this now I just want to dive back into it but I just can't. My interests have shifted to more original writings, and into diffrent Fandoms that really speak to my soul. I'm probably going to cry over this since I never realized how close I was to my blog but at least this way you can all still have the chance to find the same care and love I have for you all floating around on the internet.

To me, Machete kind of has the energy of a secondary villain/coldhearted side character in someone else's story that a lot of fans latch onto, moreso than the protagonist. Question is, would he be the villain in anyone's story?

Hi PR, I wanted to say thank you for your fics, your writing is such a good part of life. I recently read The Secretary after seeing it recommended for Best Smut by someone in the @hprecfest. I have already flailed in the comments over there but wanted to come here too, to say it's been like two weeks and I am STILL thinking about it.

The smut is absolutely definitely god-tier, but I think what has really gotten me is the character development and the emotions of their relationship. The way it's so good for both of them. How Pansy is so much happier with the structure and discipline, quitting the day-drinking and smoking, and feeling treasured and cared for--"There isn't a more careful man in the world, and I wanted to be the subject of that care" now lives rent-free in my head--and Percy gets all his rigid little boxes blown open and to be seen, accepted, and desired for all of who he is, even the parts he wants to reject and it's just AAAAHHHHHH!!!

Imagining how he is feeling and what he is thinking during Pansy's big bridesmaid-dress speech and the subsequent 72 hours of nonstop working to free her, omg it's just peak romance.

I wondered two things--if you have ever considered writing a Percy POV, whether a full fic or just a one shot, I would EAT IT UP.

And also if you can recommend any other fics with a similar dynamic? I'm absolutely in love with this Percy, so if it's Percy, whether with Pansy or someone else, great, but really any pairing that has this particular dynamic I would be so grateful. <3 Thank you!

AAAAAHHHHHH, to you, too! I know @heyjude19-writing recced The Secretary recently (thank you so much, my friend!) and even before that there was a noticeable influx of comments, so thank you to whoever else posted about it somewhere out there in the wild. It's the best, best feeling as a rarepair writer when something manages to find new readers. And I love this ask, because yeah, the fic is about sex, but it's MUCH more about how kinks are incredibly personal and idiosyncratic, how isolating and shameful they can feel, how genuinely off-putting they can be to a partner who doesn't share them, and how liberating it is not just to be accepted but to be wanted and affirmed. Pansy comes into their situation with NO fear of the kink and power play dynamics, and proceeds to gloriously "Yes, and . . ." Percy's really very idiosyncratic and aesthetic desires, which is how he ends up feeling safe enough to fully explore them.

Percy is possibly my favorite POV to write (I've done it twice in shorter fics), so I won't say I won't ever do it again, but I am trying to wean myself from fic writing. I also haven't written explicit smut in a very, very long time, so it would probably be sort of sketching the erotic in the margins, which I personally really love.

As to the power play dynamics, I'm honestly not sure of any other fic (or fiction, honestly) with quite the same thing going on. I've mostly come across domination/submission fiction that focuses on either a sexually reserved/inexperienced or a highly driven female character being taught how to be submissive by a confident male dominant, which is not their dynamic in The Secretary, like. At all. If anyone knows of another work that handles these themes in a similar way, please speak out in the comments! Thank you for reading and for the ask!
