I’m generally surprised there’s basically no angsty stuff for ddv. Like there’s SO much potential, Mickey’s missing wife, memory loss, loneliness, lost hope, guilt, etc! Like ESPECIALLY the mc, they literally abandoned & forgot about their kingdom full of people who are trapped, lost some/a lot of their memories, people being gone (not dead but you can get them back), not to mention the condition the valley itself is in when you get there. The player’s gonna feel a whole lot of guilt for what they did, possibly trying to overwork themselves due to them trying to “make up for it” (they’re already doing enough to make up for it). They do this to the point that everyone’s incredibly concerned for their wellbeing (including the villains!), so when someone finds the ruler passed out the ones who have been there longer would nonchalantly would carry them/find someone to carry them to their house while the newer ones would be very confused as to why they’re so nonchalant about their ruler being passed out (maybe even dead). The last part would hilarious but the rest is just pure angst.

Ghoap HCs

Simon, who was born with blond feathers, going through all that trauma and stress until his wings turn white. Unsettling but adds to the image of being Ghost. Covers them in ash and soot for stealth ops. Has become eerily good at keeping his wings still on base to not drop dark dust in a trail on the floor.

Johnny, who has naturally dark wings that Ghost is definitely not jealous of, by contrast is always fidgeting his wings. If he wasn’t so expressive in the face you can read his mood by his wings. It makes his joints ache to ponder how Ghost keeps his wings so still.

Soap, who understands but is no less appalled Ghost covers his wings in black powder and does the bare minimum to preen them after the op.

Dad!Price is real, and he’s the only one Ghost will consider letting help preen his wings. That is, until Price is away doing recon when Ghost and Soap return from a weeks long mission, and Simon’s wings are in a sorry state and he’s exhausted, cleaning them will take hours and—and Soap offers. Genuine and without even the notion of holding it over Ghost’s head. He accepts; he regrets doing so the first few minutes when he keeps flinching and looking over his shoulder for an enemy that Soap isn’t. Soap is patient, though, minding whatever boundaries Ghost seems to have and after a while something must click because the tension just bleeds out of Ghost’s shoulders.

Price begins to notice after a while Simon hasn’t asked him for help in a couple months but his wings are looking quite tidy these days.

It’s a happy, albeit quiet, revelation for Price and Soap when the white feathers slowly molt out, and Ghost’s wings turn sandy blond.

Johnny loves doing silly things with molted feathers, like use them for bunny ears, or a mustache.

Ghost about had a heart attack after nobody noticed in the chaos of a mission Soap had broke several blood feathers and the man passed out in the chopper back to base, not immediately evident he hadn’t been shot.

Soap, who drops his wings in the field when they aren’t immediately needed to keep them from being targets. Ghost, who fans his out to make himself even bigger and give Soap cover, which would stress Soap out if he knew

General

Price does not at first lean into being the team Dad, but eventually accepts his fate. Sometimes when the boys need cheering up he’ll drape a wing over their heads; sometimes to mess their hair up when they push it off, sometimes to let the curtain of feathers be a buffer if they need to hide in his shoulder for a sec. Ghost only gets the dad wing when he’s sitting down, he’s too tall. He’ll lean into Price’s side for a sec tho, take a breath that smells like cigars and spicy aftershave and feel a little better.

Price has owl-type wings; silent, fluffy, heavy, and can do that thing owls do to look twice as big. Has done it to shield Gaz in the field.

Shepherd has turkey-type wings. Domestic turkey-type wings. Being called Eagle is denial in the shape of a patriotic ego-boost.

Graves has Red-tailed hawk-type wings.

Alejandro and Rodolfo both have eagle-type wings, albeit different colors, and it pisses Graves off they’re so cool.

König has ridiculous, hilariously large swallow-type wings. They make him super agile for his size in the sky, but doors are a bit of a hurtle.

Gaz and Soap will make bets on flying stunts when they are drunk and then vehemently deny that’s why they’re hurt the next day despite everyone seeing them do said stunts.

Gaz has fallen asleep under the Dad Wing.

Laswell uses her wings as a lap blanket during meetings. She eventually shows the men how to fold them to sit on their laps and then just about every briefing has professionally trained soldiers paying wrapt attention, wings in their laps keeping their hands warm.

I want to hear your opinion, but here is mine:

FOR NATH: I saw different illustrations with Nath where he is under candy and she has "control" and I think he might be prone to be... a bottom? Like not all the time, but most of the time. The only thing is that he would've been/is like this only with her. In the past during his many one nights stand and meaningless sex, he would've always be dominant and in control. Never giving the reins to the other girls, always showing that he was in control of the situation. But with Candy, he feels safe 🥺, he feels like he can relax, be taken care of 💕, but he gradually gave her control on top, maybe not at first, not because he didn't trust her, it could've been a little difficult for him, that's all.

If he is on top, I think he'll be a gentle Dom and wouldn't want to hurt Candy in any other way. He definitely wouldn't be into pain or into putting his partner in pain. Due to trauma and bad choices, I feel like he likes praise and reassurance. In the game , in non sexual context, we see him blushing when she is giving him compliments or praising him. I don't know word by word, but saying things like he is an amazing person and he's also working on himself (during the honeymoon trip while talking a little that he's taking therapy). We also see him liking to be called inspector by her. Of course, he wants make her enjoy it !

He definitely wonders at some moments how he managed to win her when he was still in dangerous illegal activities. He loves her so much and she would be the only person in the world that could make him feel those things and want to be a better person for. 😭 He would do anything for her.

FOR CASTIEL: I think he might be a switch. We've seen him at one point initiate, but Candy wanted to take the lead and he was completely on board with it. He just wants to give her pleasure and make it enjoyable. He would be mesmerized by her! He would only be a switch with her tho. Like the one night stands that he had with her when he tried to "forget her" after doing it. He was with the other one night stands in the past like that, being a dom.

I think he only had meaningful sex and made love with her. 🥺❤️ I also feel like he would be a gentle Dom. Like Nath, he would do anything for Candy and he would feel understood by her. Candy's presence is the only he craves and loves to infinity!

Lenore, Hector and Alucard are by far the biggest victims of the sudden 180 in direction done by Season 4, both due to the team probably wanting to give everyone a "happy ending" at any cost after Season 3 got criticized for being glorified torture porn, and also due to Ellis leaving mid way, which most likely caused other writers to have to fill in the gaps

I'm particularily convinced that the Lenector stuff was added by the other writers because it literally has no sense of organicity with the dynamic as it was written by Ellis in S3, which was still shit, but this feels like a completely different kind of shit. Ellis liked his misery porn, he doesn't strike me as the type to suddenly turn and write a cutesy fluffy ship between an abuser and her victim, even considering his...background. You'd think he'd have doubled down even more on the edgy bullshit, but Lenector as it is in S4 feels like the kind of stuff a stereotypical crazy shipper on social media would write, which leads me to imagine that Lenector was added after the asshole's departure because some folks at Powerhouse really thought the two looked so cute together

Alucard's and Isaac's stories give me the impression that the writers needed more time to bring their vision to fruition, but for one reason or another they rushed things. Alucard takes one episode to get over his trauma and the implication that he'd be grappling with mistrust and misanthropy is never addressed, Isaac becomes Jesus overnight and then peaces out in the middle of the season after an epic speech. However, if I imagine being a viewer who has just finished S3 and has to wait a year to see how it ends, I can imagine their development happening, just not this sloppily.

The Lenector plotline is too jarring. Part of me still believes that this one screenshot:

was meant to echo Hector's "flashback" of him killing his parents, and be a hint of him going on a blazing rampage.

Which, in theory, happens! But 1) it's for the sake of resurrecting Dracula, after two seasons spent getting beaten over the head that he lied to him and wanted to destroy mankind (which makes his horror at Carmilla's plan of conquering the world immensely hypocritical); 2) despite having complete control of his Night Creatures, he still leaves the "epic" flight to Isaac, who at this point has ascended to the status of Creator's Pet; 3), most importantly, the scene makes a fine point that Lenore is special to him and she must be protected, after the previous six episodes showed them "bonding" and conveniently ignoring all the abuse, forced BDSM and treachery she used to trap him. All together it feels like a subversion for the sake of a subversion, like they kept the original idea but made it less dark at the last minute. And I could have accepted it as a subversion of expectations, if there was more focus on Hector's character (hah) and less focus on how ✨cute✨ they were or how 🥺sad🥺 poow widdle Lenore was. Considering that from what I heard she became a fan-favorite overnight, in theory because of her "nuance" but let's be real it's because she's "hot", I can absolutely see the writers deciding to make her more sympathetic in an attempt to make them happy. If S3 feels like an amateurish torture porn fic on FF.net, S4 def feels like a coffee shop AU lmao.

I don't know what happened in S4. I don't know if they had planned a 5th season, but were forced to condense everything in one: perhaps with one more season, the transition between "I made you into my pet! :D" and "This is why I like you. You're capable of actually listening to me 🥺" would have made more sense. I don't know if other writers entered the fray, even though Ellis is the only one credited in S4. I don't know if Ellis himself was strongarmed into writing fluffy shit because the executives heard the complaints that S3 was poorly received due to being a cynical waste of time - ironically, erasing all conflicts made that season even more of a waste of time.

We can theorize. But much like a rushed game is still a faulty product not deserving of full price even if you can pity the working conditions of the devs, the final result of NFCV is of a rushed, poorly paced, poorly thought-out mess that ended up making an offensive joke of the serious themes it wanted to include.

1. What good/bad traits do they bring out in others? Good: she is quick to motivate and encourage others to "just go for it", when it comes to people trying new things, following their dreams, etc. Bad: in the same vein, she will walk head first into trouble to achieve her goals, and wouldn't really think twice about encouraging anyone to do the same, even if it caused them problems...for Féanne, it's usually worth it, and she doesn't always "get" that it isn't always for everyone.

2. What views do they have that differ from/contradict those of the other characters? Compared to her family, she is fiercely stubborn and independent. She believes gender and status should not dictate what someone does or how, or how it should affect their destiny. She is also much more scholarly-minded than those in her family's social circle, and believes much more in science than "fate" or the power of money/title.

3. What would be their reason for causing a scene in public? Anyone insulting her loved ones. She loses all reason whenever someone dares speak ill of her friends or twin brother Feiran.

4. What qualities do they look for or value in a partner/friend? Much the same for a partner and a friend: someone who mirrors her passions, hobbies, and interests; someone she can laugh with; and someone who respects her for who she is, and not her family name or title. For a partner, though, Féanne especially values someone who respects her space and independence, as well as someone who supports her goals no matter how unorthodox they may seem. Looks don't enter into it; someone becomes attractive to her based on their behaviour. Someone she can cuddle with on cold mornings is also important!

5. What do they consider red flags in a partner/friend? Someone who talks poorly about someone behind their back, and someone whose words never match their actions. She is typically a decent judge of character, though...so she rarely entertains those types of people.

6. What is something you should never do to them? Tell her to act more ladylike.

7. What is their most important or enforced boundary? Féanne will always do what is best for herself, and nobody else - not even Feiran, though she has a great deal of guilt about it. She has endured so much trauma from being tied down, being ordered around by her family as they tried to mould her into an ideal noblewoman, that she will very rarely oblige to a request that would make someone happy at her expense. She is the very opposite of a people pleaser.

8. What would break them? Any harm befalling Feiran, especially if it was in battle knowing he did not want to be a knight. Anything happening to Lata is an obvious close second.

9. What would push them to physical altercation or violence during an argument? She has resorted to violence - as a child she had gotten into physical fights with her elder brother Aleyan for mocking Feiran, but she eventually gave up because he would simply take out his rage on her twin instead. As an adult, she's punched another minerologist when they were insulting Lata...and she would do it again, no matter how many times he'd tell her not to.

10. How do they act in their worst moments? Féanne can be very bitey when she is overwhelmed or hurt; she can hit where it hurts most with her words when she is angry, although she almost always regrets it when she calms down.

11. What embarrasses them the most? Her family's behaviour. She knows how much nobles gossip, and how fast word spreads, so she has no doubts people speak about her father's affairs and her brother's tyranny. She doesn't care much what anyone thinks of her...but she isn't proud of it either.

12. What joke would amuse them? Féanne typically prefers dry/sarcastic humour or just simply annoying someone for its own sake. For instance, she'd find it funny to hide under Lata’s desk and pop out from underneath when he went to sit down...

13. What does it take to gain their trust? Time and consistency. She isn't so pessimistic as to trust no one, but she is careful giving out her background/title etc..

14. In what scenario would they feel most comfortable? In her favourite restaurant, with Feiran, Lata, and their friends, enjoying a bowl of noodles.

15. In what scenario would they feel most uncomfortable? At any noble soiree, particularly if she has to wear a gaudy dress.

16. How do they take criticism? Depends on what! She is okay with constructive criticism on her professional work, because she really loves to learn and improve. If it's about her mannerisms and etiquette...she will probably just keep doing it how she's doing it, only ten times worse.

17. What part of their past are they most ashamed of? Abandoning Feiran back at their home in Elsignia. She knows, intellectually, that she couldn’t stay just because he wasn't brave enough to leave, and he's long since forgiven her and moved on...but it doesn't make her feel any better about it.

18. What part of their past are they most proud of? Getting out of her hometown, getting her college diploma, and getting her first real job in Lyrias.

cam's parental situation is tba for me (i mean- i got the dad part lol, not a lot of detail about the mom yet- but whatever the reason is for their mother's absence, it happens early on and it impacts cam's life a lot)

i feel like cam's fashion evolves as she processes the hurt/anger stemming from her parents' passing + moving through the world in dark skin. so their transition into these more flowy, liberating fits is a cameron (healed)

there is no one regulating these impulses bc enid and cam, when put together, just enable the crap out of each other sdkjf

the whole 'never say no' mentality between them can be both positive and negative. on one hand- they will never turn down the other's idea to go to ktown and buy whatever. on the other hand- it's difficult for them to recognize when they need to pump the breaks and do some self-reflecting

currently- the backstory on these two is that they are childhood friends and each other's sexual/romantic awakenings (if yall want more tea on that pls feel free to send some inquiries); anyways, their shared past makes them each other's safety net in a way-- comfortable to be around-- comfortable enough to fall into old habits/routines (which doesn't really bode well for one's personal growth esp. if one were to, let's say, rekindle this type of bond at a low point in their lives)

okay so here are all the ideas I have so far for it! also excuse me if anything seems weird because I graduated high school in 2012 lol. this is a modern au so consider it a world like ours.

mikasa is adopted by kenny when she’s 9 because her parents were killed in a road accident on a rainy day

because she doesn’t have the warmth of the jaeger family, her life takes a different turn. kenny isn’t an emotionally present guardian and he’s away for work a lot so she basically raises herself. levi is a grown man and he does check in and call her frequently

because of no therapy and an almost non-existent support system, she develops some really unhealthy coping mechanisms. she breaks into kenny’s liquor cabinet often because he barely touches it. she starts partying and everything that implies. she smokes, she self-harms, and she’s disturbingly good at hiding it

her other hobbies are painting, reading, playing the keyboard, and singing

she and kenny move just before her junior year of high school (11th grade, grade 11, whatever year applies between the ages of 16 and 17) just so she’s in a better area with a good school because he does want to see her succeed

despite her alcoholism, she’s a star student. she’s one of those “read it once and absorb it like a sponge” types

eren is born to a doctor and restaurant owner. he has an older half brother and the family is actually very happy. he meets his friends who all make him work for it but they eventually forgive him. he also plays on the varsity soccer team because at a young age, his parents made sure he’s constantly active and busy. as a result he’s also a good student (shocking!!!)

he and lara meet and despite some bad blood, she looks like mikasa and he’s hot so there’s a mutual physical attraction with them becoming fwbs. it’s purely physical but lara is kind of clingy post orgasm and he goes along with it

when mikasa starts, she just continues on as she always does. she joins art club and book club. she avoids social contact because well, again, she’s severely traumatized and has convinced herself that she doesn’t deserve happiness

during a project for class she goes out into the balcony for fresh air and that’s when she sees eren and lara being too comfortable on the balcony (making out)

unfortunately for her, she moves back and hits something and they both hear it. and eren sees her. she makes a mad dash for it.

eren finds her the next day because he’s a weirdo who got her schedule and gets her alone. they talk and she says that she’s not ready to date anyone. they can be friends.

he respects that even though he’s not satisfied with that at all. he pulls her into his friend group and they’re all so happy to see her

but she’s off. she’s quiet. she seems out of it most of the time and she freaks out if anyone grabs her arm

eren finds out about her drinking problem and her issues because he takes her home one day and finds empty cans under her bed. they have a huge fight and after she tells him to leave and he only does because his mother calls him yelling

she’s pretty cold to him after that and all of their friends when they try to stage an intervention

she starts partying again and somehow she maintains her grades despite being so often due to going on benders more than usual

this is as far as I got. I really like angst and well, eren and mikasa end up fighting a lot here because she’s completely destroyed from her trauma and he just wants to love her.

Another random headcanon that I hold true and close to my heart is that he is not a fan of musicals and prefers straight plays. Hmmmm I guess Saku's been a little bit more comfortable letting loose or teasing Lu lately, and he's starting to learn to be a bit more open around her(after a lot of her reassuring him she loves every part of him he chooses to show and won't hate him for showing emotion)(Saku I think you might have trauma stop convincing yourself otherwise). I feel like I've been a lot more honest with myself through all this, and I'm learning to love myself through him. I don't think I miss any past things, I think. In fact, I only really started enjoying Saku as I watched him really develop as a person, and I um. Beta and early versions of Lu are my least favorite iterations of her. So yeah <3

ATLAS au, of course! This tends to be my go-to but like…plaaaay with me. You have a scientist muse. I have a scientist muse. They’re both old, stubborn bastards. We should shove them in a box together and see what happens. Gero would be a godsend for the space colony, and I can easily see him either raising the ranks to being an Upper Echelon if he wouldn’t be one from the jump due to his incredible work in both mechanical and genetic engineering. He’d also have near-free will to work on whatever he pleased as long as it cultivated ATLAS’ so you know. That’s wonderfully terrifying. Doc was the primary medic who was tasked in both research & development of many of ATLAS’ bio experiments and lifeforms (as well as regular crew members too!) so i can see these two very easily be forced to work together on plenty of projects. While muses have a mind of their own and who knows how things will develop, I get vibes that these two might have a… enemies to friends to enemies again relationship? They’re both stubborn geniuses with conflicting personalities, but they both have similar work ethics and would probably bond over NOT bonding with others in the colony. The thrill of science!!! However— Doc is a man led by his heart, and as the clock ticks closer to Doc’s eventual betrayal against ATLAS that sparked the containment breach and their personalities clashing again— Gero is… a very good case of the type of scientist that Doc grows such mistrust and hate for. There’s an ironic tragedy in this somewhere i can smell it. Also side note: Doc, pointing at fetus Cell in a test tube: GERO what in the HELL is THAT ???

This one is cheating because it has to do with Sofia and her lil bro Guadalupe, who don’t even have their character sheets finished yet (but I hope to remedy that by this weekend for at least Sofia—cross my fingers), however you asked for my whims so whims you will get. I think it’d be neat if Takuma knew Sofia from school or something similar before she disappeared— maybe she was Nicole’s friend and they met through her? Sofia does… not have any friends, so I can see Nicole and Takuma being the couple that look at this shaking, panicking mess and be like………..well…………someone has to take care of her i guess. In the ✨timeline✨, Sofia is yoinked by ATLAS on her 20th birthday— after Guadalupe convinces her to leave the house for once in her life and celebrate it! She could have gone out with both Nicole and Takuma— and then uh. You know. Yoink. Up to here it can go in SO MANY DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS depending on how you’d want to go with this. A few ideas spit-balled: - If all of them are yoinked, Lupe would spend his days trying to search for all three of them. - If Takuma doesn’t get yoinked with Sofia and got lucky— Lupe can knock on Takuma’s door middle of the night being like: “hey quit your job and join my descent into madness my silly roadtrip adventure to try and find my sister.” (at the moment, I’m planning on Lupe to accidentally become a monster hunter/cryptology nonsense so Takuma can join in on the fun). - Takuma ATLAS experiment au (the crowd goes silent. No one is surprised)

Back at it again with ATLAS— I’m sorry I’m like this man, those bastards have been on my mind lately. Anyway, you wanna cause some MORE everlasting trauma for poor Cynara? I got the perfect place for it, you’ll never believe it. Cynara can fit in so many different places for ATLAS. She could be a crew member, possibly an engineer who is unaware of the secrets that ATLAS hides? Until, you know. She finds out by accident and her self-destructive compassion is put to the test. She could easily be an experiment— Hell, maybe ATLAS saw a crew member digging too close to the truth, they didn’t like that so they were like: alright bet *experiments on you against your will* Or— maybe she was in a similar boat to Ophelia/Sofia— got yoinked while minding her own business; regardless of where it goes, I think it’d be a fun way to poke at her theme of feeling helpless despite all her prowess.  We love some existential dread here in this house. What she was experimented for and what happens to her is all up to you (obviously), either something completely new or throw in references for her skinned verse or her lovely black hole powers she has going on later (which, could land her right in the hot seat to be in that ELiTe ExpEriMenT task force that Ophelia was part of. I really need to workshop a better name for that team before the placeholder name becomes official…) Regardless, her compassion and altruism would be a breath of fresh air for both Doc and Ophelia— and her never ending, martyrdom tendencies could give Doc the wake up call to kick start the containment breach. And you know. If Cynara wants to be part of their found family in the end <33

GO was originally meant to be a really shy and socially awkward character, but over time they've lost the shyness and gained a lot of spunkiness (still socially awkward tho, I don't think I have a single oc who is actually good at talking to people (like me haha)) She also has ✨trauma✨ and also ✨abandonment issues✨ and also ✨severe anxiety✨ and also ✨self deprecation in favor of helping others issues✨ But i'll avoid going too deep into all of that unless you guys want me to (for now)

Oceans is really into archiving and data collection because of one experience they had a few cycles after her activation. They were working on a speculative theory regarding the intricacies of the karmic system when she was made blatantly aware of the gaps in the global information network. GO had been trying to find any information on whether or not other organisms were familiar with the concept of karma, but there simply was no data out there. This caused them to go down a bit of a hyperfixation rabbit trail, trying to find as many gaps in the archives as possible. Their ancients were all pretty checked out, so they all kinda just let her do her own thing.

Unfortunately, Glittering Oceans is located... in the middle of an ocean... so they can't do a lot of their own research. Because of this her personal project mostly involves sending out an absolute shit ton on overseers to collect data on anything and everything so they can continue to update the global network for everyone. If any ancient or iterator happens to google some obscure fact, there is an approximately 25% chance that information exists because of Oceans.

This is why they have so many different types of overseers!! I currently have designs for six overseer types of hers (I'm thinking bout giving them a seventh tho) They have regular ol' overseers, overseers made for precise data collection, overseers that are capable of transporting pearls and manipulating objects, overseers that boost the broadcasting signals of other overseers, overseers that help keep her structure maintained, and overseer overseers-- ones that she can project her consciousness into like their puppet and thus monitor all of that juicy data collection

i have so much more to talk about her and their local group members but this is already pretty chunky so I'll maybe save that

No, actually !! Yui has really bad needle anxiety, she doesn’t even like getting shots at the doctor’s office, so needles are a huge no - go from her. It doesn’t matter if you tell her that it would be over quick, doesn’t matter if you offer to numb the area, it’s just not gonna happen. Admittedly, she does enjoy them on other people, and loves to ask about where people were pierced, learning the lingo and such while she talks to others. Same goes for tattoos. She dislikes the pain, but loves the aesthetic. 💕

✨ “What are some of your OCs quirks and mannerisms ?” ✨

Yui’s hands rarely ever leave her face, unless it’s to touch things. She’s very engrossed in sensory feelings, so if she sees a texture that she wants to touch ( especially in fabric stores ), she will touch it, and he same goes for things she wants to chew on. Yui is very sensory seeking, needing to touch, taste, and smell things all the time in order to feel less anxious and more familiar with people and her surroundings. She also has the tendency to stare at people, but only when they’re not looking ( or rather if she’s aware they’re not looking, she has stared at people while they were paying attention to her ). She likes getting a good grasp on people’s features, it leads to her being a little accidentally invasive.

✨ “Share three random facts people may not know about your OC.” ✨

One ; Yui learned how to regulate her emotions through her cousin, Gina. Yui’s parents did very little in teaching Yui how to be kind, understanding, and patient, and while parts of that come naturally to her, those positive aspects of her personality were very much influenced and nurtured by her cousin. If she never got as close to Gina as she is, she definitely wouldn’t have the emotional intelligence that she does. 💕

Two ; Yui’s special interest is animals !! She has always loved animals, even as a small child, reading books upon books about all sorts of different animals. She has plenty of books in her bookshelves from pet care to encyclopedias about different types of reptiles, household pets, deep sea fish, and even bugs.

Three ; Yui smokes weed at home . . . like a lot of weed to cope with emotional distress and trauma.

So I'm gonna talk about my main RE inserts right now so please forgive all the lore I am about to dump at you friendo.

1. What is your s/i's name & pronouns?

Ezio DiAngelo, they/them (RE4R)

Dr. Reneé Howell, but goes by Ren, she/her (Main RE insert)

2. How similar is your s/i to you? Are they a carbon copy, completely different, or a mix of the two?

Ezio isn't really similar to me, but they do carry ✨trauma✨ from my childhood. But that's pretty much it. They are their own person.

Ren, however, is very similar to me. Very caring and motherly, has my huge fascination for science and virology, and my intrusive thoughts about dissection of the human body.

3. Does your s/i have a full back story yet? Or is it still in the works? If it's done, can we see it?l

Ezio does have a back story and here's the gist of it: They were a human experiment at Umbrella Euro who received the prototype of the NE-α Type parasite that fully fused to their brain stem but never fully reached maturity to mutate them. Luis was brought on board to the project and seeing how they were treating subjects, specifically Ezio, he vanished with them in tow back to Valdelobos (RE4 Village). Then, Saddler employed him to discover the abilities of the Plagas under the guise of helping Ezio get back to normal, but ends up infecting them with it instead. Hence the reason on why Luis developed those lasers in the first place to destroy both parasites. But he couldn't since NE-α Type had already fused to their spine, and the Las Plagas was mutating with the already existing parasite.

Ren has a fully fledged back story (it's a lot) that you can read here!

4. How did your s/i feel when they first met your f/o(s)? How do they feel about them now?

Ezio was very skeptical about Luis at first considering they were an experiment he was assigned to monitor and he was an Umbrella scientist. Now, they are very much head over heels for him, and trust him completely. We're just gonna ignore Luis' fate for a sec haha

Meeting Wesker, Ren thought he had a complete stick up his ass but grew to respect him as a scientist. Now, Ren was/is disgusted on how he changed, on what he wanted to do. Very big divorced couple energy between them.

7. Give us 3 random facts about your s/i!

EZIO:

Born and raised in Italy, but moved across Europe quite often when they were younger. Resided in Spain when they were older.

They can speak 4 languages fluently: Italian, English, Spanish, and Dutch (the last one was for fun when they were in college).

Due to having both a prototype Nemesis Parasite and a Las Plagas parasite residing in their body, they can feel other Plagas around them and can almost "hear" the hive mind around.

REN:

Ren was an orphan, discarded by her parents to a Catholic run orphanage in her hometown. The nuns who ran the school were the ones to encourage and help fund her schooling, despite aging out of the system. Without them, she wouldn't have become a scientist at a young age.

She was killed and infected by her own project: The Nemesis before the events of the third game. Due to having been bonded with the progenitor virus as a fell safe thanks to William Birkin, after being infected the parasite bonded with her as well.

Ren always wanted a family, so before the events of the game (and spending a lot of time at the RPD), she eventually adopts the autopsy tech August (@valentinesparda 's insert).

Hi! Sorry to just pop in and ramble about Religious Trauma™️ but I saw your previous couple of posts and wanted to say that I've had such similar experiences!! I was raised Catholic (I am no longer Catholic tho) and at Youth Ministry (so like, middle school mostly), they did a thing where they passed a chocolate bar around to all the boys and had them break off a piece so that when it came back to the leader it was all gone. And of course that was meant to represent a woman when she has premarital sex with too many men: "there's nothing left for her husband." I've also had friends who were raised religious say that they've seen similar things (I think they have a name actually, like "purity exercises" or something???) with the boys chewing gum, spitting in a glass of water, or plucking the petals off a rose. And now that I'm older I am just so completely horrified. Like WHAT??? That is so beyond not okay.

Anyway, sorry to jump in with negative stuff, but I think it's so important that we have these conversations since many of these types of religions try to shame people into silence or intentionally isolate them from the community if they choose to leave.

But to end on a slightly nicer note, Maddie Zahm has an incredible song called "If It's Not God" which is all about her coming to terms with her own beliefs and fighting through her religious trauma. Would highly recommend to anyone who hasn't heard it who's struggling with similar issues!

That being said, it truly is kind of horrifying the amount of times I've heard afab friends of mine recount these kinds of experiences? I've seen these kinds of ideas come from Mormons, Catholics, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc. I just tend to say "Christians" and "Christianity" because that's what I and nearly everyone around me was raised with. These ideas aren't just confined to the teachings of different religions, but I will say that the echo chambers that many religious groups put themselves in allow these ideas to thrive.
