In reflection, perhaps it makes sense that Puss fought Shrek in such an "I'm gonna annoy you" way. He wasn't very serious about it.
He's an outlaw, but he's certainly not a cold-blooded murderer, and he has a moral code (no stealing from churches or orphanages, for example). And besides, he probably knows enough about the stigma against magical creatures to know Harold was just being specist.
So he goes "I'll take the money, but the ogre is probably just a poor SOB that annoyed the king. I'm gonna rough him up, scare him off and then I get to keep the money and he keeps his life. Everyone wins."
And then when he gets caught, he waits for the table to turn to go back to martyrizing Shrek, but he realizes the ogre is just treated like shit by his father-in-law, and decides "you know what, I'm not enough of an asshole to break his marriage just for some gold. I'm giving him a hand."
And then it turns out it's not just the father-in-law, but there's an active conspiracy by the fairy godmother to control the government of Far Far Away and keep the social hierarchies of fairy tales in place. And she got the whole order of chivalry (cops) in her pocket, as well.
What's a noble outlaw gotta do in this situation, if not help bring down the racist the shadow government that enforce a specist system?

Have been thinking this for a while. It may be a silly thought but...
I wonder what happened to Wolf/Lobo at the events of Shrek Forever After.
Was he inmune to Rumpel's magic?
How could his variant handle all the chaos that was King Rumple's AU?
Was there a variant of him at all or was he the same?
Would he be more upset at Rumpel for breaking (his) Life's order or at Shrek for signing the contract in the first place?
Was he aware of the Alternative Universe once everything went back to normal or did he forget like the others as well?
And last but not least...
What did he think of Shrek as he was slowly disappearing/dying?
Must have been a weird, confusing and long day for him.

I saw Matpat in the corner of Ikea and when I went to say hi, he started infodumping about how Diet Coke is a great conspiracy and called Shrek a way to brainwash kids.

I have a lot of things in fandom I'd call "Brown M&Ms" in that they're harmless opinions to hold but nearly always mean the person who has them will not say anything I care for and anyway for the fourth year running it is "gives characters nicknames they don't have in canon."

Everyone's talking about the inconstancies the last wish has regarding towards the shrek movies, and the universe as a whole, and I wanted to throw my own thoughts in the ring.
We know about the magic wand that Jack has possession of isn't Fairy Godmother's wand for many reasons, and the obvious one with the Three bears, where mama bear was murdered by Lord Farquard in the first movie that kicked the franchise to high gear. As much as we want to know if mama bear's fate had been retconned, the fanbase had pretty much agreed on a theory that Papa bear was the original baby bear that grew up to start a family of his own.
This theory had got me thinking since I heard about it.
When a character important to the story they are from dies, does another take their place but in their own way?
We know Death exists and we know multiple characters from set narratives had died at some point, and without them, the fairytale/nursery rhyme wouldn't live or at least won't work as intended.
Like the answer works for the three bears, and Goldilocks herself since a younger version of her was only present in videogames, mainly Shrek Smash and Crash Racing, which was also one of Humpty Dumpty's old appearances.

I don't do this very often, but i might have some sort of fan theory about Puss In Boots The Last Wish, and it's about him:
Tumblr media
It kinda feels weird seeing him without his so-, i mean, sweater
So hear me out, he might be a spoof of 101 Dalmatians.
Before you guys say anything, i know 101 Dalmatians isn't technically a fairy tale, but the Shrek franchise has often been known to be some kind of Anti-Disney satire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It has also been known to feature some darker and grittier versions of well known characters, so having Perrito's "littermates" being cruel and mean to him would honestly be a great reference to it.
And Perrito having been a victim of attempted murder, verbally insulted, covered with scars, homeless and being totally happy about it definitely feels true to a character in this universe!
What do you guys think?

In the next Shrek (shrek 5?) after the return of Puss in Boots, Shrek and Donkey will have a tense relationship with him.
Shrek and Donkey gave more and more place for Puss in their life, and Puss felt more and more anxious because of this (Since he felt he wasn't living up to his legend anymore). So he eventually left, at a moment when his friends expected his support (Graduation party of the kids? A birthday?)
Shrek would probably be more forgiving because in 4ever After, he did something similar (trying to relive his archetype as an ogre), so he'll probably forgive Puss and tell him "Hey, I made the same mistake, It's probably gonna take a while for things to go back as they were before, but I'm glad you're back."
Donkey, however, doesn't really have that experience, and I feel he'll hold a grudge for longer, before the final quarter of the movie where they make up.

Hiii, I dunno if you can even share this with us but....will Jurassic World Chaos Theory perhaps have a more "mature" tone now that the characters have grown up? I mean I know the original series was already pretty brutal when it wanted it to be, but I'd always like to imagine this universe to tackle into more mature and violent tones like prominent characters actually dying and compelling villains with a personal history that screams more than just "nah I'm evil cuz I wanna butcher some dinos or make money outta them". Anyways I loved your work on the show and can't wait to see what comes next ❤️❤️❤️
Hi there~
I'm afraid I can't answer any questions about the new show or else the Shrek statue at work will come alive and get me v_v
But thank you, I'm glad you're excited haha. You will indeed have to wait and see

What if . . . . Death from PiB
!! WARNING LONG POST (Slight spoilers of PiB) !!
Okay so usually I’m not a making theory person but what if...HEAR ME OUT...Death from Puss In Boots movie is the official Grim Reaper of entire DreamWorks universe?
Tumblr media
We all the Pixar Theory connecting as one universe right but in alternate timelines?
What if its same with Dreamworks? Think about it? Let’s start with Shrek verse itself its practically the only universe that contains humans, fairy tail creatures, dragons, monsters, anthropomorphic characters & non-talking animal characters etc. And we all know Death very much exists in that universe right?
Now time to split and go through rest of the universes (other movies)
-Kung Fu Panda (Anthro)
-The Bad Guys (Humans/Anthro/Animals)
-How To Train Your Dragon (Human/Dragons)
-Madagascar (Anthro/Animals/Humans)
-Shark Tale (Anthro I guess? Since Humans are never mentioned in the movie)
-Over The Hedge (Anthro/Animals/Humans)
-Croods (Humans/Creatures/Animals)
-Rise Of The Guardians (Humans/Fairy tail Creatures)
-Megamind (Humans/Creatures (or aliens in this case)
Trolls (Fairy tail creatures....I guess?)
The list will go on if I’ll include every single Dreamworks movie...but you guess get my point right?
I’m not even saying this is a 100% a thing since in KFP3 we get to see the spirit realm where the departed kung fu warriors souls rests.  I guess the only explanation will be that Death only shows up for people who take life for granted. Especially someone like Puss who barely took his 8 lives seriously PLUS taunting by saying “I laugh at Death”

Okay so I’m sure NO ONE cares but I’m currently rewatching Trolls World Tour again and I just need to articulate this thought one more time.
My theory for Trolls 3 is that it will be SO similar to Shrek the Third in every way. That is to say, it will involve:
A good soundtrack that doesn’t quite equate to the first two movies but is still relatively fun
New world building that is slightly memetic and a crap ton of jokes interwoven through that are funnier for the adults than the kids
Minor/secondary characters in their own, full-blown B-plot
Female characters kicking butts
Nerdy Justin Timberlake becoming king
And it will be SEVERELY underrated by not only the active fandom of the franchise, but also by anyone who goes on to eventually see the first two for the quality movies that they actually are and seen as the “dip” in the series, disregarded as nothing but a subpar throwaway even though it’ll actually be well written and completely hysterical
Anyway I’m so sure of most of this and I have some other hopes but just like. Come on.
