I don't know if I've said this on here before since it's a liiittle personal but I want to talk about it since this made me think about it lol

Around my second year of liking Nagito i met somebody and got really close to them and they really believed that Danganronpa was embarrassing/cringe despite liking it themselves. And I know they didn't mean to, but it really rubbed off on me and made me feel ashamed/embarrassed about my interests! I felt as if those embarrassing interests were "flaws" so even when I talked about EVERYTHING else I could I still couldn't make myself ramble about those embarrassing interests despite wanting to!! I don't entirely blame them for me developing pointless embarrassment and shame but I can't deny they were a big factor in it happening too. I still loved Nagito but I definitely thought about him just a little less because when I did I felt GUILTY about it.

So when they left me a few months ago, the pressure from being ashamed sort of left??? Like I had the biggest "what do I have to lose anymore," moment of my life and started just embracing my interests again and being "embarrassing" because really who cares? ALSO FUNNILY ENOUGH THATS WHEN I STARTED READING FANFIC TOO,,, I WAS A LITTLE AFRAID TO READ FANFIC BUT BECAUSE OF THE "what have I got to lose" MENTALITY I STARTED READING IT AND I REALLY LIKE FANFICS LOLL

I'm still pretty sad they went from somebody I talked to every day to someone I haven't talked to in months but I think it was, in a way, the best thing for me in the end. I've been able to Attempt to be more comfortable with myself and have become less ashamed and implemented that "what have I got to lose?" mentality but in a positive way! I've definitely improved thanks to this blog as well and I don't feel guilty about loving Nagito anymore.

so why did I go on an entire little personal yap sesh?? uhhm. I'm not actually sure just something about the way you said retracing steps and hit with brainrot just reminded me of myself,,, and I definitely will take every opportunity I can to restate the message of "try not to be embarrassed about being yourself!!" I've been having fun loving him without shame again and It's been SO nice being able to articulate it! :)

kdrama gifs just always draw out thoughts and inspo out of me :’ ) like this one here has me just!! so badly wanting chiyo to have the experience of someone telling her something similar — that whether she’s agreeable or not, hotheaded or calm, chipper or gloomy, difficult or easy, she’s still the person they choose to have by their side ( be it in a romantic sense or platonic tbh!! ). if the groundwork has already been done, then that kind of statement would hit so hard in the best possible way ;;;;

it’s the kind of thing that would make chiyo not only feel accepted but seen as well. bc not only are they choosing her in spite of what she thinks are terrible flaws, they’ve seen through her attempts to hide her fear and insecurities. she doesn’t want to be vulnerable bc it’s terrifying. rejection is terrifying. but to be seen and still loved anyway is what she wants more than anything.

is her garden host to some prickly weeds? yeah, but it’s also home to such beautiful flowers. it’s still a beautiful garden. she’s still a lovable woman. that's always been the case.

so the abridged context rundown is that these are styled after the sentiment ttrpg system! in the long and short, every character has ~3 stats, each one assigned a color. each stat represents a core character trait, and can be “locked in” to dictate how a character is feeling or thinking in the moment. taking damage (physical, mental, or emotional) can cause a stat to get “wounded,” rendering it unusable (and further defining character decisions.) thats the very basics of it! the above image is a comp of Base-ColorAlt-ExpressionAlt-ColorAlt. for funsies. :)

“kento,” you whispered into the silence of the night and the dimmed lights on your room. It’s been way past midnight and you hadn’t been able to sleep, contrary to your boyfriend who’s lying beside you—his breath steady and calm.

when your voice didn’t budge him out of his slumber you tried once more.

“kento.” this time a little louder.

he then muttered an inaudible word, still closing his eyes. his hand wandered though, tightening his hold around the back of your shoulder; bringing you close to his chest. better, but the gesture was not enough for you who’s not feeling even a little sleepy, as mischief ideas filled your head.

third time’s a charm, they said. so you called him once more.

this time it finally did something as he hummed a reply, his free hand rubbed your side in a calming pattern, his hand went underneath your shirt that’s all rode up. he settled his grip just an inch under your chest, his thumb slowly moved up and down. “that tickles,” you said as you put a hand over his, refraining his little movement. Although, you’re sure he could hear the smile on your voice.

he finally opened his eyes as he gave you a lazy little smile and you swore you didn’t remember seeing anything more gorgeous than that. “why aren’t you asleep, hm?” his voice a tone heavier than usual, a tad husky as it laced deep with sleep. “i can’t sleep,” you whispered, like telling a secret to your best friends in a slumber party. “right. so i don’t get to either, yeah?” he replied, a smile on his face; and it’s only fondness shine across his feature.

“i mean, i understand if the old man needs his sleep even though tomorrow’s weekend. so by all means,” you said playfully, and that earned a deep chuckle from him. “don’t tease, who said we should have an early night today?” he raised an eyebrow, and for such a calm sleeper he now couldn’t stop his wandering hand as he’s diligent on giving you back-scratches—not that you’re complaining. “yes, but that was before my confidence in being able to fall asleep crumbled right before my eyes,” you claimed, feigning a serious tone. “i see, my mistake.” his eyes narrowed affectionately and you had a feeling you could say the dumbest excuse and he’d let you get away with anything.

you felt the need to sit up and do something but before you could even do that he held you down gently. “none of that, you’ll feel even more restless, love.” you couldn’t even protest at that since you knew he’s always right. “then what do you suggest we do now?”

“it’s a we problem now, hm?” he stared at you in amusement, knowing who dragged him into the sleepless night as well was none other than you. “is that a complaint i hear?” you threw him a questioning look. “it’s excitement, of course.” he laughed softly as he stroke your hair ever-so-gently.

“i should just start rambling maybe it’ll get me tired,” you said randomly and he just nodded without offering any question. “sure, i’m listening.” his hand didn’t stop moving. “where should i start?” you asked, relying on his answer. And of course it came easy for the man who seemed like he knew all the right words. “start anywhere, love. you could repeat anything, skipped over some words, or even tell it backwards and i’ll be here to point it out,” he said lovingly.

and you don’t know if it’s just his power you didn’t know about but it’s not even ten minutes after you started talking and as he kept doing the little gesture you could feel the sleepiness coming, welcoming you to one of your best slumber in a while.

Newt who would be crazy and rambles whenever he sees you wear his shirts to cuddle or sleep (and when you ask him why, he says "you look hot- i mean beautiful, wait i didn't mean it like your not hot, cause you are hot, i mean- your hot- wait that's not the point- but you look bloody amazing with my shirt").
