A lot of people are having a heart attack this day. Zuko because of a scary and an unwise water tribe peasants. Iroh and Jet when they see the candles go WHOSH. Katara when her brother turns out to be pretty flammable and he's about to gain a matching scar. Aang because he's empathetic king. Toph because people are suddenly dying. (Kira's unhealthy laugh thunders somewhere distant.)

You know what? We need more Good parents Fentons. 

And you know what else? Technically, Jack helped Danny defeat Pariah via the use of the Ecto-Skeleton. And like, that’s his son, his baby boy. Sure Danny is and has always been a mommy’s boy, but it doesn’t change that fact. They’re both already feeling horrible about the fact they could have hurt him, they could have hurt their son- they have hurt their son, killed him with their inaction and never again. 

So when these oversized jello-eyeballs try to insist that their baby, their precious baby boy, take a crown? Become a king when he’s not even out of highschool, when he doesn’t want it? No. Hell no! That is his Danny-o, his baby boy who was terrified of his own parents! 

Which is how Jack, despite technically still being alive even if so-very ecto-contaminated, became the Ghost King. 

And for some reason there’s several ghosts rather happy about this- oh, these are his Danny-O’s ghost-parents? Not-ghost parents seeing as some of them have never been anything but a realm denizen? That’s really fascinating- y’know what, want some fudge and we can exchange childcare- Maddie dear come over and meet our co-parents apparently!  

Now it’s not all easy, but they’re trying their best, and that’s all that can be asked.

Which is perhaps why it’s so exasperating- or as Maddie would put it, downright infuriating- that it is now, almost an entire year and a half later that the Heroes finally arrive to investigate. Well, at least he has plenty of fudge since it’s almost time for the council meeting.

3rd gif: jake continues, “you've convinced the peljenites to exchange ambassadors with the federation.” he grabs the salad bowl and grabs something to eat. “how did you know that?” sisko asks as he pays attention to the food, he notices jake eating from the salad bowl and chides him with a gesture to put it down.

4th gif: “you're cooking chicken paprikish.” jake replies, and sisko corrects him on the food name, “paprikash.”

5th gif: “you only cook hungarian food when you're in a really good mood.” jake mentions his observation, “you know, i always said that you are a smart child.” sisko replies, he grabs the food.

Mhmm I sure love thinking of the reality where we did get more time to really know Karai and her dynamics with the bros. Losing her hit hard in the finale, but it would’ve hit much, much harder had we known Karai longer and really saw her relationships develop with everyone.

I especially would have been interested in her dynamic with Leo, as past iterations often have the two of them clash in ideals and the like while still sharing many characteristics. Two sides of the same coin, and all that. Her specifically being the bros’ Gram-Gram also adds a whole new dynamic as well.

Imagine how interesting it would be, to have Karai start off on Leo’s side for once, showing wholly just how alike the two are at their cores and bonding as family without the worry of betrayal or animosity that other iterations suffer through, only to have Karai die anyway. Their parting hug and the desperate look of horror Leo wears later on would have hit that much harder, I feel.

i'm actually going to cry.

maybe the reason Anya suddenly revealed her secret to Damian, of all people, is because she felt guilty about knowing his deep desire for familial love. he didn't mention it, but it was painfully obvious in the way he looked at her with this soft, sad smile:

anya is so strong. i would've cried and hugged him 😭

but lo and behold, anya wasn't so strong after all. after trying so hard to keep her ability a secret, she told damian anyway – and without hesitation too.

personally, what Anya did was equivalent to a hug. maybe she felt bad... maybe guilty... maybe she wanted him to feel less alone... maybe she pitied him... maybe she sympathized... or maybe she felt it was the right thing to do. but in her own way, she definitely did it to make him feel better and less alone :')

maybe i'm just yapping. but the two of them are so similar in so many ways. Damian despite being part of a real family longs for real connection. and Anya, despite loving her family so much, secretly wishes what they had was truly real – a family not held together by a mission or conveniences, but just that, a simple family. they both just want a home man

this chapter was perfect in so many ways. these kids make my heart hurt, and i'm so scared yet excited for what Endo has in store for the next arcs <3

Sometimes I think about how Mickey & the Milkovich’s very first storyline is centered around them getting revenge on someone who they think hurt their little sister.

Mickey was just scouring the south side with a bat prepared to do ANYTHING for her without any question or need for proof, clearly so protective of her & his family. And the way no one’s even surprised by it shows that this isn’t the first time the Milkovich boys have gone after someone they think has fucked with Mandy.

They grew up in a house of horrors where all they had was each other, it almost seems like if they couldn’t protect each other from Terry, then at least they could do whatever they could to protect each other from everyone else.

And then that side of their dynamic which was set up as such a core element of their family was just forgotten about and never really explored again after, but I WISH we could’ve seen more of it.

And what do I do? I live. I try to make sense of life. I lean on my kitchen counter and get lost in the soup. I gaze at flowers and sunbeams and the cracking paint. I am in love and I am in pain and they are becoming less like lovers and more like friends. I like it that way; when I’m at the breakfast table, my head is quieter. I watch sunrises and I go insane, very quietly, over the twists and turns of poetry. I still smile when I cry. I am so loved, so fucking loved, and I hold the love carefully between my hands – like a present I’m still shocked to receive. 

I stand in the grass and close my eyes; the trees laugh, softly, caressing the wind, and I am a life in a life full of little lives. 

What is worship but a wordless cry – how good it is, how good it is, how good. How good is the laughter of friends and the sharp decoration of a pinecone? How good is the blue slide of sky, how good is my song, how good is a voice raised loud in joy?

And I live. I try to make sense of life. I cry in restaurant bathrooms. I dance. I pull my car over to take pictures of sunsets. I am in love. I tuck my pain into bed and kiss her forehead gently. Rage grabs my shoulder; I stare back. I am a life in a life full of little lives and I still don’t know how that happened. How good is it, to have people who your heart can rest with? How good is it, to see the stars? How good is it, to know I will cry again – I will wonder – I will let my heart be ripped clean and yet. And yet. I go on. 

What is worship but a wordless cry? 

I am glad to be alive.
