I wanna say huge HUGE kudos to you for being able to stay in the Oso-san fandom for this long. It's honestly so rare to find someone still dedicated to a certain media for years and not either growing tired of it or abandoning the blog for something new.

Thank you so much! At this point in my life, I owe a debt of gratitude to Ososan for helping me grow as a writer so it's kind of hard to shake the sextuplets really lol. And while I do have see a slight decrease with my interest in it every once in a while, it's never truly gone. Part of that of course is due to there still being content being put out by Studio too. And also I've come across so many really wonderful people and the spectacular things they've created from their own love for this fandom, which is in part why I'm still here. As gen-AI becomes more normalized (Chappell Roan encouraging it, grifters on the rise, young artists using it), I wanna express how I will never turn to it because it fundamentally bores me to my core. There is no reason for me to want to use gen-AI because I will never want to give up my autonomy in creating art. I never want to become reliant on an inhuman object for expression, least of all if that object is created and controlled by tech companies. I draw not because I want a drawing but because I love the process of drawing. So even in a future where everyone’s accepted it, I’m never gonna sway on this.

I hate how often some (typically abled) people will go “well, if you can’t [get a specific support], then what?” when it comes to disabilities. As if it’s a “gotcha” moment. And then act like you’re exaggerating when you answer that question honestly.

Disabled people often die from a lack of support. A lot of disability aids are not a luxury, but a basic need in order to live.

“Well what happens if—” people die. People hurt themselves. People hurt others. Disabled people don’t magically become abled if our needs aren’t met.

If a bedbound quadriplegic is caught in a housefire, and there’s nobody there to save them, they’ll probably die. They won’t magically become able-bodied out of sheer will.

If a nonspeaking/nonverbal autistic is denied access to alternative methods of communication, they’ll suffer in silence. They won’t spontaneously become capable of speech.

Disabled people are disabled all the time. Our disabilities don’t go away just because they’re inconvenient, or if we’re in danger.

my sister didn’t realise until last year that she’d been a bully in high school of the mean girl variety. she’s 23 years old. if you think all harm has to be intentional for it to count you’re kind of missing the part where this shit happens all the time. nobody goes around thinking they’re being evil. sometimes they do shit that sucks and nobody calls them out on it and they go home and find ways to justify it to themselves in their head. causing harm + ‘being a bad person’ + fucking up on purpose are all independent variables
