Midnights Album Aesthetics How I imagine the vibe of the album and associations:

Velvet Blue and Chroma Pinkish Violet: perfect representation of the midnight hour, as it's witching and alluring, there to unite our psychic awareness with the mundane reality, a portal into the Twilight Zone, without the restriction of expectation, without fear of being noticed, just us and the void of thought, echoing to and fro each other.

Blue Vervain: Vervain was a favoured herb of the druids and used in magic rituals. It was thought to protect the bearer against witches' spells and to ward off the Evil Eye. Placing vervain on a small cut on the hand was believed to bestow the ability to open locked and bolted doors once the hand had fully healed. Rubbing little undiluted vervain juice on your body helps to attract love, and can transform enemies into friends. If you place a bunch of it in the bedroom, vervain can help you to overcome insomnia.

Sodalite: The crystal's energy is Intuitive, it will help you connect with your highest self, sodalite is thought to ease emotional distress and anxiety, it helps to clear the mind and express the self to find the truth of own's own.

A Court of Mist and Fury: the city Velaris mentioned in the book and the whole embedded with jewels dressed worn by the faes is so mystical and reminder of the midnight hue.

This gem is a version person, who mostly keeps to them self's. Most people or gems would describe him with a, " always angry face ".

When I reality, he's actually a really soft person, he doesn't care for most loud people or gems. Except the exceptional few gems and humans he's friends with, he really close with a gem who's the opposite of him, a gem of Fire Hematoid Quartz.

This is a fairly recent project, Catch Fairest Breeze.

I wanted to use colors that I don't usually use (namely pink), and still have it appeal to my personal aesthetic. Orchids are really my point of departure for this color scheme, because those guys manage to do pinks and lavenders really well.

The dragon was colored with Prismacolor pencils over a watercolor base, then detailed like crazy with gel pens. There's a sodalite stone (blue-violet, middle right), as well as rose quartz, blue lace agate, a Fuze Glass bauble, and all kinds of shiny bits.

And glitter. Oodles of glitter. In the scan I captured, it looks like pixelated noise, but in person it's definitely ridiculously glittery. After all, if I'm going to play with pink, then I'm going to court craft herpes, too.
