“do you think the universe fights for souls to be together? some things are too strange and strong to be coincidences.”

You found my whispers
of love scribbled in the catacombs
where my light no longer reaches
traced in cursive and kisses
I’ve been waiting for you

#65: Another Life
A voice,
Somewhere above the din of the crowd
Distracting in a way that should not be allowed
Why does it grab my attention?
It feels like the only voice to which i should listen.
This is a strange weakness,
An unexpected addiction
Of this-
i am not proud
A laugh-
familiar and bright
It brings back something in my mind
Have I heard it before?
It can't be, but its how it feels
Theres a part of me,
Something small and distant
That intimately knows it.
It knows the way your chest shakes
The way you inhale at the crest
A smile-
Blinding yet overlapping,
Unexplained and yet it happens each time.
Who is it, that i am seeing when I look at you?
When words fall into my mind, who am i quoting?
Its deja vu on repeat
I turn to air as if there was someone to greet
Where are they?
(you?)
I don't quite understand-
The words remain on the tip of my tongue-
not yet found
Its just that-
Sometimes when I hear your laugh
-your voice
I could swear i have heard it before
Its just that-
Sometimes when I see your smile
I think that I must have known you in another life.

truth is,
i think about our hands a lot:
yours in mine,
my cold palm pressing
against your warm hand,
our slender fingers intwined
with each other
think about the things
that we can accomplish together
hands were made for
building and creating,
and i cannot wait to see what
my hands can create with yours
