Howdy, I'm one of the K-Pop Sunbaes. I saw the tags you added on our The Grace Pt. 1 episode.
JR worked on that script for about a year along with the Isak n Jiyeon episode we released last year. I showed her what you wrote and she hadn't run into that info -- let alone sources.
We always want to give the correct info, and we add corrections when we get stuff wrong. If you're willing and able, do you mind sending us sources for info we got wrong or missed? We can read Korean and a bit of Mandarin, so don't worry about finding something in English.
Thanks.
hi oh my gosh so sorry i just saw this ask! i rarely pop on tumblr for more than a second every few days😭
as far as i know there wasn’t anything incorrect in your script! any of this could be left out as it isn’t very important honestly. i’ll link all of what i mentioned in the tags here
isak and jiyeon forced rift
li yitong
cctv channel april 29
unfortunately can no longer locate the video of their first performance, it seems the account has been deleted🥲
jr has amazing work ethic. seriously thank you all so much for the effort you’ve put into this.

I'm afraid it's a bit worse than the usual not-scandalous scandals that "rock" the K-pop world. This wasn't a member caught vaping. There was an actual crime involved, but I don't know if in Korea it's considered lower level (like an infraction or violation) or more like a misdemeanor, or worse. Hybe contributed to the mess by rushing out a statement that apparently obfuscated some of the facts. I don't want to go into the details because I don't know what's real and what's scandal-mongering clickbait bullshit, but right now it's looking like the most serious trouble that any BTS member has ever gotten into.
Things seemed to be settling down but the K-pop media sites (at least the ones in English) aren't going to let go of something this juicy. I'm not on Twitter but I hear it's a feeding frenzy over there. It's all giving me echoes of what happened to Lee Sun-Kyun and not gonna lie, I am spooked. If you don't want to discuss this on your blog I'd understand. Feel free not to post this ask.
Correction: X
I don't want to invalidate your concerns because I'm not following the situation closely, but, for example, Karina's apology for dating made it to Portuguese news media, but I haven't seen anything about Suga yet. And on Twitter they're saying the comments sections of foreign news channels who reported the incident are full of locals dismissing what happened as irrelevant or a non-issue. I also saw an Army post that legitimate Korean media was moving on and only gossip rags, like you said, were dramatizing the situation. I saw another Army post that their friends in SK hadn't even heard of it.
I think Twitter Army have largely moved on. Reddit is another topic because non-Armys are obsessed with taking down BTS. But I really don't see how this is enough to ruin BTS's reputation in SK. Maybe I'm being naive, but I think they will always have support there.
Thanks for the ask! Apologies if I said anything incorrect. I'm just saying what I've been seeing.

I just found that tiktok and why are the people in the comments believing it 😭
whenever she makes a video about a k-pop idol all the comments are like “careful the stans will come for you” but everything she has said about idols so far has been bullshit. apparently Jennie is cheating on everybody with everybody and Lisa is dating both Frederic AND Dominic fike but that she’s also getting married soon so there’s that I guess. she literally just says shit and people believe it verbatim
honestly kpop stans are soooooo gullible, and especially if it’s about information about someone/something they dislike 🥴😐 like just think of how many pictures or documents or charts that were circulated among kpop fans who took them as completely true just bcs they were written in kporean even though there was no source and the info was blatantly incorrect fshsjsj
