hey do you think the Crows control the mage circles in Antiva too, in some way? do you think the heads of Houses get handed the phylacteries of their mage members? do they bring in trainers from the Circles, or send them to classes in the towers, or do they have to wait for a mage to "graduate" before they can recruit them into a House properly? or are mages who are taken by the Crows just quietly ignored until the phylactery needs to be used?

we had a situation last night that caused a very sudden change in our system’s structure and it happens that somehow I fused with the previous two “main” hosts. Just generally feel quite weird at the moment because now I have all these memories and experiences I didn’t know we had coming back to me it feels very weird. But also good? I guess? Like it’s a good thing. But weird. I think a decent bit of fusions (good) and dormancies (neutral on this) and maybe splits (bad) and shit just occurred so?? thanks brain for suddenly deciding to restructure I fucking hate you

i remember being brought up christian like, almost concerned that i never felt a connection to any of the shit they were talkin about,

and when i was younger i was like "oh no! am i bad for not feeling connected to god?? is it bad i feel like my dead mom doesnt talk to me or watch over me?? am i horrible for pretending?????"

but turns out i just had Autism Powers that made me immune to it and i was able to completely sever myself from the idea of being Christian at the ripe old age of like 13. and it was such a HUGE comfort to see that there were all these other beliefs and spiritual sort of things that other people chose to believe in and didnt necessarily treat their beliefs as COLD HARD UNDENIABLE FACT the way christians treat the existence of god & heaven & hell

like now that i am older i know i was in fact traumatized by the culturally catholic beliefs my family held & forced on us all, but i am really immensely grateful that my child self looked at all the other aspects of christianity that would horrify most other children into behaving/conforming, and basically just went, "okay, source?"

yes!! it's very interesting to me that the fandom is so different from tgcf, despite overlapping quite a bit.

i think it's a little bit of a combination between different factors, like:

the audience seems generally older (tgcf, i've noticed, has a large teen audience, maybe because of the rating? svsss has a couple explicit scenes), and usually, in my experience, an older audience won't be engaged in drama as much

it's a deliberate parody novel that doesn't take itself too seriously (which i looove about it), so its readers don't take it too seriously either

and the novel itself, in my opinion, openly invites you to look beyond the main pairing (like with the extra where liu qingge seems convinced he's shen qingqiu's soulmate, but also yue qingyuan and shen qingqiu/jiu sharing a red string, and shen yuan having great chemistry with most characters)

also, despite it being translated into english by seven seas in 2021, it doesn't have any recently added material that pushes it onto people's radar (like with the tgcf donghua and revised version), thus leaving it to people that seek it out themselves (if that makes sense). svsss is, sad as it sounds, "outdated" in comparison, which could be the cause of it's open and easy going fandom!

The lack of shipping wars in the Scum Villian fandom is really fucking funny because we all ship different people with the main character Shen Qingqiu, and instead of fighting about it, we collectively decided that he deserves to have a harem consisting of every single guy in the book.

I'm not totally certain in my understanding of the description on Wiktionary of it's origin. However for people also learning simplified, my Mandarin teacher described it as "a special friend" since the simplified is 友 (friend) with extra on top. Do you like them as a 友, or do you 爱 them.

In Mario Kart 8/Deluxe, the motion of each character is governed by four independent systems: -animation (which action the character is currently performing, e.g. sitting in the seat, throwing an item, posing after a stunt, etc. In older Mario Kart games, this was the only factor) -head tracking (the character's head turns to look at other drivers and items as they pass by) -facial expressions (the character's face changes to show their current mood, e.g. happy after winning or in pain after being hit) -vehicle motion counterbalance (the character subtly shifts in the seat in accordance with the vehicle's movement by bending limbs or changing posture. Hair and other freely moving character parts also fall under this system)

To demonstrate that these systems are actually completely independent of each other, it is possible to turn one of them off and see that the other ones are still being applied to the character. In the footage, Daisy's animations are turned off, leaving her stuck in a T-pose. However, she still looks around, changes expressions, and even bends her arms and legs to balance the bike's movement.
