being a system shows up in some of the most interesting and subtle ways

like some of our system members stammer

some of us don't

some of us have a lisp. some of us don't

some of us speak much deeper than others, and some of us will always be speaking with a sort of feminine rolling cadence and constantly telling jokes

if you didn't know we were a system, then it would seem like we were just someone who speaks in lots of different ways, but people who know we're a system notice these differences and it feels very validating

our therapist asked if we had system portraits since we're artists. we admitted to having some picrews made for Simply Plural/low effort purposes we could send her. after that appointment we agreed it wasn't good enough! she's been our stand in mom for SIX YEARS!!

so here's our start of system portraits! Laurel is our bigender, catboy co-host (he/she.) He's big into pop music, in-betweening and sketching, and kissing cats on their tiny little heads like they deserve! Her favorite color is yellow; florals and embroidered designs on skirts and shorts, and cute socks.

Our friends @aquarius-system gave us an art program and I tried it out by drawing @come-back-vandarian ! I love the linework style so much and the shading options were so awesome! The funny thing abt being a fictive-only system is that the only alters who can visualize us as a system dying are the ones who've already confronted permadeath in their sources and even then they're not great at it. Like, we as fictional characters had plot armour, which is something that we as alters in a real life body do not have, and it gets really fucky sometimes.

This is pretty much the "we don't have a life past the end of our story" kinda deal and is part of the reason we don't exist when we picture our own future. Fun times!
