Spy Camera in Table Clock
First and foremost, make sure to place the table alarm clock in a strategic location where it has a clear view of the room you want to monitor. The camera lens is cleverly hidden within the clock's design, allowing it to blend seamlessly into its surroundings. This makes it ideal for discreet surveillance without attracting attention. To begin operating the spy camera, simply insert a micro SD card into the slot provided in the back of the clock. This will allow you to record video footage and store it for later viewing. Additionally, make sure to charge the device fully before initial use to ensure uninterrupted surveillance. Once the camera is set up and ready to go, you can easily control it using the accompanying remote control. In addition to its surveillance capabilities, the hidden camera table clock also functions as a fully operational alarm clock, adding to its practicality and functionality. With its dual purpose design, you can enjoy the benefits of home security without compromising on everyday convenience.
How to Optimize Home Security
To optimize the use of your table alarm clock hidden camera for home security, consider the following tips:
Ensure the camera is placed in a discreet location with a clear view of the area you want to monitor. Avoid obstructions that may interfere with the camera's line of sight.
Regularly check and change the camera's batteries or ensure it is plugged in for continuous operation.
Adjust the settings of the camera based on your specific surveillance needs, such as motion detection sensitivity and video resolution.
Review footage regularly to stay informed of any unusual activities or suspicious behavior in your home or office. By following these simple steps, you can enhance your home security and enjoy the benefits of a hidden camera in a table clock for added peace of mind. The Report Card – Fantasy High Junior Year Ep 16
Kipperlilly Copperkettle and the World's Smallest Violin
Welcome back to Fantasy High where everyone’s graduating with A pluses and we’re *finally* figuring out what the hell Kipperlilly’s deal is!
But, before we get to that, we have some loose ends to tie up. You’ll remember that the Bad Kids just demolished the Last Stand Exam and dropped Gavin Pundle off at the Council of Chosen office in Bastion City. It’s the day before Spring Break so hypothetically they should be relaxing–they don’t have a Spring Break project like everyone else because of the Last Stand–but these are the Bad Kids. They don’t get breaks.
First order of business when they get back to Elmville is to check the crystal they left recording at the crime scene. They see a massive figure--14 to 15 feet--wearing a hood approaching Buddy with their back to the camera. The stones behind Buddy glow with Ankarna-style light so they check to see if Bakur is escaping the gem he’s trapped in. He isn't but Riz using his spy tie can tell it's def something Ankarna related based on the magical mDNA he's clocking. Based on the footfalls, it seems like something big and humanoid (though not like a tabaxi or dragonborn with their digitigrade feet. Giant is def on the table though).
The figure moves closer to Buddy and Kristen thinks they’re about to slap the symbol on Buddy’s chest but Buddy’s body spasms and blood spatters as his organs seem to crush. He jolts awake with a pained roar and then says in his southern drawl, "Dang, y'all. I worship a nameless god of rage." The figure kneels over Buddy and they both vanish.
So, yeah. Good call setting up some CCTV.
Fig right away speculates that maybe all the Rat Grinders died and were brought back to life in that way. Maybe in the Mountains of Chaos, Fabian adds. Kristen points out that KP has been angry since Freshman Year and they all finally get around to digging into the file that Riz stole. Has she always been a follower of Ankarna or was she scouted at some point because of how insanely aggro she is?
Everyone piles on buffs to Riz’s already stupid Investigation score so he gets a 32. I’m going to bullets to organize all of this info:
Her Freshman and Sophomore Year accomplishments are pretty meh. She was doing quests but pretty low level, easy ones
We find out the reason KP hates Riz so much and it’s his tragic backstory. In a meeting at the top of Sophomore Year, they see KP complaining that it’s so unfair that Kalvaxus killed Riz’s dad. She’s too suburban and normal and she hasn’t been able to find any sordid secrets in her lineage that would make for good plot hooks essentially. Her parents went to *Mumple* for Cassandra’s sake! Over the course of Sophomore year she started having rage outbursts. and saying that kids with tragic backstories had an unfair advantage in adventuring and their grades should reflect that.
She talks about how much she loves her party. The way she speaks, she's def the leader (which we kinda already assumed from the vibes). She seems especially fond of Lucy and says that she's the only one who sort of "gets it". Apparently, KP came up with the name "High 5 Heroes" and Lucy was supportive of that because it meant a lot to KP. Rat Grinders was a name that Ivy and Oisin came up with (they're the other pair of besties in the group which checks out because they were the ones hanging out and playing beer pong together). Ruben voted for the change to piss off KP and Mary Ann voted for it as well and refused to elaborate (on brand).
In her Junior Year she gets even more unhinged. She talks about wanting to straight up murder Kristen. She thinks Kristen is going for President as a joke and won't even do the job when she's elected. And she he hates Fig for boxing her out from confronting Kristen.
There's a note that, for Spring Break, they're going to the Mountains of Chaos for the second time. The last time they went was a week or two after Spring Break last year, right before Lucy died. They had a school chaperone because it was too high an adventure for their abilities in the school’s view and no prizes for guessing who that was: Jace Stardiamond.
As we kind of already know, KP has been gathering Bad Kid info via Jawbone--specifically, stuff about the Prompocalypse/Kalvaxus fight and the Yes! Stuff. These questions are coming Sophomore Year, post the first Mountains of Chaos trip.
With a dirty 20 Insight, Fig sees that, starting at the end of Soph Year, there's a change in KP's language where it goes from, "I don't think X is fair"/"I think they get special treatment" to just straight up, "I hate them."
The group wonders if Jace is the mastermind here and scoped out which of the students were susceptible to rage poisoning or if maybe he died during that mountain trip and got taken over just as much as everyone else. As far as they know, he was super chill prior to this.
They take a brief detour to razz Fabian about The Incident in his dance class with some excellent puns and then another brief detour to IRL razz Murph because he makes the grave mistake of saying the phrase, “honor the cock.” And then, Kristen has a brain blast. She wonders if maybe the difference between someone who gets a crystal put in them and comes back as a rage person (eg: Buddy) vs someone who is left in limbo like Yolanda and Lucy is that you get a choice and you can either come back full of rage or refuse and stay dead with the mark on your chest. Brennan doesn't even make Ally roll for it, Kristen just gets it in one. And everyone realizes it makes sense. Yolanda was super principled and Lucy always stuck to her guns according to Ruben. [Note: This also offers a potential reason that Ivy wasn't shocked to see Lucky at the party–maybe she thought she finally took Ankarna’s deal.]
Another list of info just to keep things neat:
They check the tape from the Coliseum and see that there's a ten minute gap between the Bad Kids leaving and the figure coming to rez Buddy so that’s a bit of a timeline established (assuming no chronomancy BS I suppose).
They also get the thing about digitigrade feet I mentioned earlier at this point but I just thought it fit better with the other tape stuff above.
Ruben has deleted most of his social media presence from a little bit before last year but they can see from photos where he's tagged with his friends that the emo thing started after spring break of Sophomore Year, confirming what we assumed from his old Yearbook photo. Before that his vibe was more soft rock/folk pop (based on the musician they reffed who I've never heard of but just Googled--Jack Johnson).
The Bad Kids think they might have to waste yet another Spring Break, this time chasing the Rat Grinders into the Mountains of Chaos, but before that, they have in-town business and downtime to attend to.
Everyone's parents and guardians are so happy and proud of them for their Last Stand victory.
Sklonda asks Riz if there's anything she can help with and he asks if she can look into Bobby Dawn. She says  Bobby used to go to Aguefort (info that has come up before according to Brennan though I don't remember it) and asks if Fig knows he's teaching there. It seems like a non sequitur until she reveals (via Emily figuring it out at the table with very impressive swiftness) that Bobby Dawn was at the center of Sandra Lynn's sordid past! For those of y’all who don’t remember, we learned in Sophomore Year that Sandra Lynn joined a party when she was young as a replacement member. There was a married couple in the group who were older and more powerful than her. She fell in love with one of them and when it all came out, she was kicked out and slandered (even though it takes two minimum to tango, as we all know). She was basically blacklisted from adventuring after that which is why she joined the rangers. Well, now we know who that couple was: Bobby and Pamela Dawn!
Which, ugh what an upgrade Jawbone and honestly even Gilear are from Bobby Dawn.
(Also, as an aside, we learn Pamela is the chief paladin of the church of Sol which, como se dice, yikes. That whole pantheon needs better reps. Tracker is doing all the heavy lifting herself.)
Gavin checks in to say that the Council of Chosen is looking into things but the body is missing. The Bad Kids, who already knew this, share their footage because they have to do EVERYTHING around here. Gavin also lets them know that they’re completely free from academic requirements other than filling out a teacher eval and attending graduation (which is odd considering they aren’t graduating but Aguefort is a weird school and Brennan never went to trad high school so shrug–we’ll see if that’s just a weird Aguefort thing or a something suspicious).
Back to Riz and Sklonda, he asks his mom if she's ever heard of Eugenia Shadow and she tells him that she's a granddaughter of one of the founders of the Society of Shadows (which was named after their last name--it's literal AND a metaphor. She offers to drive him to the cemetery in Ashgrove which is about 90 minutes away.
Wilma and Digby are exuberant as always about Gorgug's success. They’ve finally fixed up the Hangvan for him and give him the keys. He thanks them and then asks about why Frosty Fair picked their tree as the new event site. They think it's just because they're heavily in the Frosty Fair circuit and also someone (who we know is Ruben) vouched for them. But they mention that the FF reps had a lot of questions about their tree including whether the tree was a Root Warden. They don't have a Druid or Ranger who would know but Kristen gets a Nat 20 (and Cass is a sylvan goddess so it checks out that she would know some stuff about trees).
A Root Warden is a tree that is so magical that it's a little more alive  than a normal tree (without fully being a treant) and has an Int of like 1 or 2 instead of zero. So it's basically the big, old tree that guards the other trees in the area and tells them when to have their guards up and protects them from general bad mojo. Brennan calls it a sentinel. The Thistlespring tree is the Root Warden for the trees in all of Elmville county.  Gorgug rolls too low to tell if the tree is corrupted but his parents do tell them that the people who came by to check on the tree dropped something into the roots with eye droppers that was absorbed. Everyone is worried about rage pollen, especially since it’s the middle of spring. And once he’s looped in, Riz can see on a map that Loam Farm is significantly outside the tree network that Thislespring tree is a part of. It seems clear that they were trying to make sure they were not only operating within the network but poisoning its very heart.
Fabian gets a proud message from his dad now that they’re synced up with infernal/material plane communication. Gilear asks Fabian about baby clothes so, naturally, he burns them all. He also gets another 20k gold allowance because his life is full of intense highs and lows and that’s about it.
Kristen’s parents text her to ask her to make sure Bucky is going to his classes. Suspicious! She agrees to check up on him.
Aelwyn has accepted the job at Leviathan so she starts coming by the mansion again since there's a door/portal to the library which saves her the spell slot. Adaine tells her she can just come back home if she wants and Sandra Lynn agrees. Aelwyn asks if all her cats can come and everyone says yes, even if it means kicking out Kristen (which is a joke…mostly lol). So yay, Aelwyn is back in the bunk beds baybee! And during the month of my birth irl and in canon. Ty Brennan. Kristen tries to verbally spar with her because she knows Aelwyn is uncomfortable with people being too openly nice to her but Aelwyn accidentally claps back too hard and sends Kristen running back to her room near tears. Sorry, K! She’s working on her people skills! Fig of course has her President’s back and gives Aelwyn a wet willy which majorly grosses her out but she doesn’t sling any retaliatory spells. Progress!
Gorthalax makes sure that Fig knows he’s always a resource for any help with anything infernal. Meanwhile, Adaine has a couple of spells she wants to cast. She makes a Simulacrum of Kristen, to make it confusing for anyone who wants to go after Kristen. It’s a clone of her with half her HP which is slightly British and slightly straight. She casts Legend Lore on Kipperlilly and gets no info which means she’s a basic ass bitch. (Riz, in comparison, does get a ping but it’s for being the 5th person to summon the Night Yorb so he is keen to do better than that). Finally, she casts Scry on Kipperlilly and doesn't get anything because she has Nondetection casted on her. She realizes that all of the Rat Grinders do at all times which is 18 third level spells a day which is crazy. Clearly, they’re scared.
Graveyard time! On Saturday, they head to Ashgrove and find the grave of Eugenia Shadow who died at the age of 111. Adaine swaps to Ethereal Vision to try and find her but Riz (with his Blindsense) is the one who finds her (she’s carefully ducking behind Adaine to dodge her line of sight). Eugenia is annoyed to have two students find her in one year but very happy to drink, smoke, and do drugs with the Bad Kids(just go with it).
Despite being dead, Eugenia knows a lot about stuff that's going on and congratulates them on passing their Last Stand. Riz asks her about what "the Rogue teacher found her" re: Kipperlilly means and Eugenia says that KP somehow found out that she was dead (despite the fact that as far as Shadow knows, the only records of her death exists in Aguefort’s office) and showed up at the grave with a rented backhoe, threatening to dig her up unless she showed basically. Which, yes, is grave desecration and messed up but is it any more messed up than the concept of a rogue in general? Like, I hate KP as much as the next person but this feels like normal rogue behavior. As Eugenia says in this very scene, rogues do crimes! Anyway, Eugenia reiterates something we already knew about Kipperlilly:  that she's obsessed with technicalities and loopholes. We learn for a fact that she's a Mastermind Rogue and Eugenia says that she's a lot like Riz but walking a darker path.
As they're speculating how KP could have gotten into Aguefort's office (via Jace maybe?) Mazey comes up since she's acting principal and Eugenia reminds them that Aguefort is not a normal school with normal positions. Things are set up so that whoever is VP has to follow whatever the Principal says no matter what since Kalvaxus is supposed to be in that position as a prisoner. Equally importantly, Aguefort is more than a school. It's a hotbed of very important magical threads that Aguefort had going and they'll unravel without someone at the helm. That fact and the fact that killing her would mean chaos and not a simple transfer of power to another party is probably the only reason no one has tried to assassinate her yet. At his friends’ urging, Fabian texts Mazey to hang out, to help keep an eye on her.
Eugenia tells them to keep their guards up and that she expects to see all of them in Rogue classes next year. She gives Riz an eval form and Fig asks about a Landscaping Company that KP contacted (which I think must be in cut footage because this is the first time it comes up in the ep. Eugenia says that the name of the company is Loam Landscaping which gives everyone pause for obvious reasons.
Speaking of the Loams, they're on the same death clock as Lucy since it's been a while since they died and Adaine wonders if they can Plane Shift to where they are if they can figure out where that is. Brennan says that the vibe is that Yolanda and Lucy are probably with Cassandra, wherever Cass is.
Downtime before Spring Break!
Fabian is up first.
He rolls a 27 for Popularity. People are hoping he's gonna keep up lofi study nights over the summer and they're so psyched that his birthday is the same day as the election (the 31st). Adaine realizes that THIS must be the bday party/election victory she keeps having visions about and tells him he has to do it. For his second track, he asks Mazey out on an official date to Krom's Diner. She says yes and, on a 20, we get a very sweet scene where Fabian has a nice normal date with a genuinely nice, down to earth person.
Even though she's not supposed to play favorites, she tells him that Kristen's basically demolishing Kipperlilly in the election so far (which she is impressed by because she didn't think Kristen was going to take it seriously). She also lets them know that technically any place (including a big house party perhaps) can be a polling place as long as someone from the school admin is present (which could potentially be Mazey or Riz).
Mazey gives him a goodnight kiss (getting his kisses in!) and we move on to his third roll which he uses to try and mend fences with Kristen for Gertie’s sake. He offers her any satisfaction she wants from an apology to combat and she chooses combat. With a 30 to her 16, he handily defeats her and she considers her honor satisfied. They'll chill now. And he even gives her some tips on flirting with Kristen. Trying to make sure his girl gets her kisses in too I see.
Corsica and Terpsicore find him to give him eval forms. (Also, on a Nat 20, Fig steals RIz's eval and changes his one negative comment about her doing drugs with her students into a positive one because of course Fig loves her).  He just barely gets his Owlbears roll with a bardic and that's his last roll.
Adaine is up next. She uses a portent to get a 29 on mystery to learn about the Astral Plane and figures out that when a god is dead in the Astral Plane there's still some level of intelligence, like how a mortal can die but then have Speak With Dead cast on them and answer questions. She also finds some weird linguistic trickery in a passage about how where gods die, where they go, and where they're borne--not born, borne as in carried. Imagine the laws of the universe hinging on a pun. Wild. They wonder if that's what Bakur was trying to do/if the proper location would have been the Mountains of Chaos.
Brennan also says she gets some interesting stuff about the Mountains of Chaos and its history and is left with the question of, "When Ankarna was said to have 'died' in the Red Waste, what does that mean?" Adaine decides to roll to learn some spells to help her party survive in the Astral Plane if they need to go and on a 29 spell she learns one new spell of each level. She also talks to her teacher (Tiberia Runsetaff) who, in addition to giving her an eval to do, says she's been talking to Aguefort (Chronomancy) and when she mentioned that she was having problem getting supplies for wizarding, Ayda left her a geocache. Runestaff gives Adaine the coordinates and she texts Fig so they can go together because she assumes Ayda left stuff for both of them.
Next, she wants to roll Relationships and throws an ice cream party for the whole manor which everyone really enjoys. She chats with Sandra Lynn who tells her that the Mountains of Chaos have been nuts lately and social animals like wolves have been killing members of their own packs as of the last few weeks. That sounds very rage-y to Adaine so she tells Sandra Lynn everything they know (except for the Bobby Dawn stuff so Fig can be the one to break the news).
Adaine asks if Sandra Lynn will take them to the mountains since she knows the area so well from work and Sandra Lynn says they might have to sign some liability waivers but she's down as long as her bosses are down. They also have a very sweet conversation where Adaine says she’s very grateful to them for taking her in and she admits that she's not very good at being a kid. Sandra Lynn says that she's always available for any conversations that Adaine wanted to have with a mom and couldn't (on account of her mom being a raging bitch and also being chased by the Vands of course). Adaine thinks she's about to give her a talk on periods and dashes away, much to Sandra Lynn's bafflement.
Fig does her evals for her teachers including Lucilla who is weeping over her not remembering her name and just calling her "Attractive bard teacher", Porter who is irked to be sharing a sheet with Zara, and Zara who wants to see Fig because she send her a flap of flayed skin with writing on it (the contract from Bill). Valid concern.
Adaine wraps up her downtime by rolling to Scry on Jace and gives him a 1 to make sure he fails. She sees him sitting quietly working in his office where he's Fantasy Googling the Complicated Women podcast. Adaine doesn't see what else he's working on with a low Luck roll but on a 17 Perception, she sees that he's starting to sweat in his toasty office. He takes off his scarf and, as he does, she catches a glimpse of him in the mirror, revealing a deep ragged scar in his chest. He looks at the scar and, for a moment, his eyes flash red.
Detention
Kipperlilly for All Of That
Girl are you KIDDING ME?
“Oh boo hoo. Riz is so lucky. School is so easy for him because he has a dead dad to avenge. Some people have all the luck.”
Man, kick rocks. And she was like that *before* she got involved with Ankarna.
Also, sidenote, it’s not even like Riz ended up killing Kalvaxus because of his tragic backstory. He didn’t even know there was a connection going in. He just wanted to find his missing babysitter and the other missing girls! You’re a Mastermind Rogue. You want a plot hook? Nancy Drew it up, bitch!
You want Kristen dead? You want her DEAD? You’re jealous of Riz who lives in a household where sometimes you have to eat your cereal with water because there’s not enough milk to go around? Truly, get a grip.
Honor Roll
Kristen for Making a Clutch Connection
This should really go to Ally but yeah. What a great leap figuring out that staying dead is an option and that’s most likely what happened to Yolanda and Lucy.
This very likely explains a longstanding loose end from much earlier in the season. Ivy didn’t look shocked to see “Lucy” (Fig in disguise) at the party even though we know she was dead. With this new info, it seems likely that Ivy assumed that Lucy had finally given in and come back as a rage acolyte.
Anyway, baller connection and she got there before I did. I love it when Brennan is so impressed he doesn't even ask for an Insight roll.
Random Thoughts
Here is a super useful timeline of events Re: the Ratgrinders by @ratgrinders.
I’ve seen a lot of people assume that the RG’s died in the Mountains of Chaos but I’m not convinced that happened. Because that was way before Lucy died and we know that once she died, she refused to come back as a rage person. And we know you can take a rage crystal without having to die first. That happened in the mall fight with the wizards. If they TPK’d there and Ankara offered to bring them back, then they would have come back without Lucy because she would have said no.
Here’s my current theory: They went to the mountains with Jace. They either stumbled into information about Ankarna or were led there by Jace if he’s proper evil and not just taken over. They were offered a deal and everyone went for it but Lucy. KP really wanted Lucy to join them–esp cause she considered Lucy her best friend. She tried to strong arm her into it (maybe even forging her god change form) and, when she stuck to her guns, she organized everyone to kill Lucy, forcing her into a position where she’d have to say yes to Ankarna in order to stay alive. In KP’s head, Lucy would do this and maybe be annoyed for a bit but in the end see it was for the best and forgive her–maybe even thank her. But she miscalculated the strength of Lucy’s conviction and voila. Dead Lucy.
Edit: Wanted to come back and edit to note that it is of course possible that in the mountains everyone died except for Lucy and that's when they took the Ankarna deal, but even if that's the case, the rest of the theory would proceed as written. I was mainly thinking that while what we saw with Buddy is a strong possibility it's not the only possibility. If they died then they're a bit more sympathetic because self preservation is an understandable motivator and taking the deal doesn't make them craven--it just makes Lucy and Yolanda extremely principled. However if they just took the deal because it was offered to them then that's more eyebrow raising. Even though I'm skeptical, I'm kinda hoping their hands were forced because I think that's more interesting and we've had straight up petty power grabbing already from Penelope. But anyway, just being thorough.
"Flash of Stupidity” is so funny.
It's not surprising that Ivy and Oisin are one of the pairs of besties in the RG's--they were introduced playing beer pong together--but I'm super curious about what their dynamic is. And ditto for Lucy and KP. Was it like a high strung one/chilled out one kind of thing? I really wish the Bad Kids had been a bit nosier about their whole deal.
Do we think KP maybe wanted to make sure the BK's died in the last stand alongside Buddy and Pundle so they'd all come back as rage people? Maybe that crossbow bolt was laced with some rage mojo?
KP being mad at Riz for trying to pickpocket Jawbone of her file when (1) she’s literally a rogue as well and (2) she pickpocketed Kristen and Buddy of their revivify diamonds is insane.
I love Lou committing to the bit of being appalled at the thought of half-siblings via Gilear because I know he knows that every time he explodes it becomes even funnier which means it’s more likely to happen but he can’t stop because he’s Committed To The Bit. Classic Lou.
Wizards casting Legend Lore on themselves as the in-universe equivalent of Googling yourself.
I love the detail that Mazey’s family lives in a Labyrinth in the Red Wastes.
Kinda bummed we didn’t get to do more with the Relationship track so the special ability never came up and Brennan had to just reveal it (it can reduce stress but also increase it).
I am so stressed about the bylaws and also Bucky. They keep coming up and then falling off of everyones’ plates and we’re running out of runway here.
Adaine really said, “You didn’t just kill your parents? Skill issue.” She really is Aelwyn’s sister.
The VP has to do anything the Principal says, right? And Mazey is the Principal, right? There’s gotta be a way to exploit that, especially now that Fabian is in her good graces.
When did Aelwyn get FIVE MORE CATS?
Answered and Partially Answered Questions
Last week I made as thorough a list as I could about what info we were missing and I wanted to note the answers we got this week.
1) Why the move to Loam Farm for Frosty Faire? (The Thistlespring tree is a Rootwarden)
2) How is Jace involved? Why is he manipulating Ruben? (We know Jace went w/ them on the trip but that's not a full answer)
3) What were the exact circumstances behind Lucy’s death? Who was able to put the rune on both of their bodies and what exactly was the goal there? (We know the mark is from getting a rage crystal but rejecting it but we don't officially know who did it or what the goal was though you know my guess.)
4) How did KP find the rogue teacher? (Threatened to dig up her grave. Info that she was dead was only in Aguefort's office so maybe got that from Jace?)
5) Also what’s her damage? Why is she obsessed with Riz? What are her anger issues about? (She's a petty basic bitch)
6) Why wasn’t Ivy surprised to see Fig in disguise as Lucy who was at the time fully dead? (Most likely because she thought she finally chose rage zombie resurrection)
7) What’s up with the party vision that Adaine has now had at least twice? (We know this is election night and Fabian's bday now)
8) What made the Rat Grinders become the Rat Grinders when they started as the High Five Heroes? (We know it was a vote led by Ivy and Oisin and joined by Ruben and Mary Ann but not the why behind it)
9) Where exactly is Cass right now? (We still don't know for sure but it seemed like a realm within Ankarna’s dead body which is prob in the Astral Plane. We do know Lucy and Yolanda are prob with her as of this ep.)
As an aside, we still don’t know how Oblivati Mori was broken to write Ankarna’s name before the Bad Kids found it but is it possible that the person who wrote it was Ankarna herself? Because Ankarna is still “dead” right now, right? Because she’s been active all the same. Oblivati Mori disallows others from speaking your name but does it disallow the god themselves from speaking or writing their name if mortals find them somehow? Kind of a stretch but I’m wondering if there’s enough wiggle room there to make something happen, especially since this episode Brennan said that gods retain some intelligence even when they’re dead on Adaine’s high roll. I dunno, just spitballing.
(Also, I don’t remember where I saw this but remember how Aelwyn said KP is randomly loaded? The previous best guess on that was money from Oisin–the boy who was just gonna give Adaine diamonds–but is it possible that she’s spending the embezzled Frosty Fair money? We don’t know much much it was so hard to say if it was enough to be funding whatever this is. But wanted to throw that out there since we’re tying loose ends as much as we can.)
Anyway, can’t wait for next episode which I’ve been told will be more than THREE HOURS LONG and Brennan said in the AP that it’s gonna be a doozy. Excited, trepid, and preemptively bracing for another long haul review. See you then!

I made Webby and the Lords in Black on Sims 4 a while ago:
Here’s Wiggly:
Tumblr media
I was really proud of his hair. I also gave every Lord and Webby their own special room/building, so here’s Wiggly’s:
Tumblr media
Decorating isn’t my strong suit but his room was the most fun to design, I was thinking mostly of a grand palace, mostly in green, with a fireplace and a table with thrones for him and his siblings to meet at - notice the white throne for Webby?
Here’s Pokey:
Tumblr media
I couldn’t find a beret so I went for a Phantom of the Opera style fedora, but the eyes I found were PERFECT (side note - they are all spell casters because that made the most sense considering their godly powers). Here’s Pokey’s room:
Tumblr media
I’ll be honest, I accidentally mostly forgot to give him instruments, my idea for this room was to explore his different interests because he spends most of TGWDLM trying to figure out what people want, and that’s reflected in the different activities in his room. I also gave him cool wallpaper that reminded me of a beehive as a cute nod to that - I think I gave him a violin in the end that you can only really see from a different angle.
Here’s Tinky:
Tumblr media
My inspiration for Tinky’s look here was anime characters, much like in NPMD, but I found the perfect goat eyes for him that totally add to his look. Here’s Tinky’s room:
Tumblr media
I gave Tinky every clock I could find, but the vibes of the room were definitely meant to replicate the cube with insane patterns meant to drive someone mad; there’s a rock climbing wall in the corner that I think alludes to Tinky’s feral energy.
Here’s Blinky:
Tumblr media
I’ll be honest; this hairstyle for Blinky was what inspired me to recreate the eldritch siblings on the Sims, it just seemed perfect, and of course I made his eyes massive so he can have a good look at everyone. The sunglasses also seemed pretty accurate to me. Here’s Blinky’s room:
Tumblr media
My idea for this room was to give Blinky things to watch - so there’s loads of tvs, a camera, comfy chairs and even spy tech in a corner in case shoes get too unrealistic for him. A small detail that I wanted to point out is that in every room for a Lord, I have placed lava lamps on their bedside tables that match their colours, funnily enough I just found them in the game anyway and they were a perfect fit.
Here’s Nibbly:
Tumblr media
A fluffy jacket, pigtails and a big mouth, what else do you need for an accurate Nibbly? I love that jacket, I wish I owned it in real life. Here‘s Nibbly’s room:
Tumblr media
Okay, this is essentially a fancy kitchen with a cupcake machine, a wardrobe, a vanity and a bed - I ran out of ideas here. Still, I think it’s cute and I think Nibbly would like it if he ever got midnight food cravings. This room could save lives.
Finally, here’s Webby:
Tumblr media
I honestly think that Webby is the most accurate, I was looking at reference images for all of them but that dress seems like it’s been ripped right from the screen, not to mention her hair. I’m proud of this Webby, I can sleep well at night knowing I’ve at least done her justice. Here’s Webby’s room:
Tumblr media
I was definitely going for ‘ethereal’ when I designed this room, with a chill, relaxing vibe - what could be more relaxing than loads of fairy lights? I also made it a priority to give Webby plants to show that she is encouraging new life instead of crushing it like her brothers - the larger amount of windows and lights also are meant to suggest that she’s a kinder, more moral/good person.
If you like my recreations, they are all together on the Sims gallery, just search for the Lords in Black and Webby or type in my EA ID, sparklefishkatie (shameless self-promotion) because I’ve put a lot of stuff on there over the years. Now; these guys are quite old, you might have to scroll back to find them, and I can’t actually remember if I put their rooms on the gallery, if I didn’t please let me know if you want them because I’ll absolutely put them up. If you’ve read to the bottom of this post, you’re the best, thanks a lot and please download these characters if you play Sims 4! 💕

More Than An Intern (Tony Stark X Daughter!Reader) *PARENTAL
Characters: Tony Stark X Daughter!Reader
Universe: Marvel, Avengers
Warnings: Mention of drug addiction, child abandonment
Request: Imagine: Tony has a daughter in a one night stand when he's 21. He doesn't know of the kid's existence. Mom has post-partum depression, struggles financially, becomes an addict and sells the baby to random guy (he works for Hydra and knows that the kid is Tony's-It's an extension of Project Insight and they wanna train people with brilliant ppl DNA). Around Ironman 1 and 2, she gets inside Stark Industries as an intelligent intern and Natasha catches her spying and the rest is left to you. 😊
Tumblr media
The silence in the stairway where you were sat against the wall between floors was deafening, so quiet that you were certain that if someone was to step into it they’d hear your heartbeat from the top floor. You could definitely hear it, so loud that it was like standing beside a speaker at a concert, but you tried to act calm and collected like any other day, hunched over your phone, a half eaten sandwich in hand, like you did every other day in this internship that you had been working for the past 3 months.
Nothing to raise suspicion. Nothing to make anyone think you were up to anything. Nothing to make anyone think you’re a spy.
You weren’t entirely sure why you were so nervous about this. You’d done similar things before in the past despite your age, but this was a much larger project for you. You were stealing weapon blueprints and plans from one of the greatest minds and also in one of the most secure buildings you’d ever seen. Normally you would be able to do a simple sneak in and out within an hour, but you quickly realised that this would be a case of sneaking in, hiding in plain sight, not raising suspicion, gaining their trust, gathering the intel, and then sticking around a while afterwards instead of booking it to maintain that trust and also to get them off your scent and tie up any loose ends if needs be. You couldn’t mess this up. They’d kill you.
After finishing your sandwich, you checked the clock on your phone, having memorised the routine of those who use the lab just down those stairs, and knew it would be empty now. You packed your things up, before heading down the steps, going through the door at the end and into the hallway. You tried not to look around too much, instead heading straight to the lab door, going on your phone, and after clicking a few buttons you glanced up at the camera in the corner of the room, seeing it power down, before you walked to the door, finding it unlocked and letting yourself in. You wasted no time in searching the space quickly for anything important, not wanting to focus your time on something and as your leaving realise you’d missed something even more valuable. You spotted Tony’s desk as well as some of his suits in the corner in the midsts of construction and repairs. Seeing no cabinets, you walked over to the desk looking over everything on the table- papers, blueprints, and the interface instead of computer. Unfortunately for you, you knew that to get in you’d have to temporarily disengage JARVIS to get inside unnoticed, so that was down, so you were relying on the physical copies, which luckily it seemed that Tony had out- usually to show to the ‘old people’ like Mr Rogers and the God who you kept away from. You looked over the papers, not moving any of them, just looking for anything of importance. You saw design ideas for his suits, suits that didn’t exist yet, designs for their unique abilities- notably weapons that fit in your hand. Bingo.
“What’cha doing?” The voice made you jump a little, eyes shooting up to the door of the lab, seeing a familiar red head leant against it with a smirk, arms crossed. You of course knew who she was- Natasha Romanoff, one of the most deadly assassins in the word, and she just caught you somewhere where you didn’t have clearance.
“Oh- I’m so sorry- I was looking for Mr Stark. My clearance pass keeps messing up and my supervisor didn’t know how to fix it so I hoped he’d be able to…” You switched to the personality you’d perfected the last 3 months, a shy, anxious, fly on the wall girl fresh out of college, eager to learn and a goody-two-shoes… okay some of those traits might have already been yours, but it just selled the character. “And now I’m saying it aloud I realise that’s… stupid. Sorry. I’ll go.” You tried to excuse, but as you went to rush out embarrassed, she stepped in front of you, making you halt. She glared down at you, and you shrunk into yourself. “I’m really sorry, I won’t come in here again, I promise.” She raised an eyebrow at you, before grabbing your arm, pulling it out, showing her your phone, and she plucked it from your hand. She removed the case off the back, turning it over, showing the small chip on the back- a small tracking device that also sent all info on the phone to another location. HYDRA. You were anxious before, but the second her eyes landed on the chip, it vanished. You’d failed your mission, and now it was a lose- lose situation, all options probably ending in you tortured or dead, or both. Now, you were terrified.
Her eyes came back up to meet yours, and it felt like she was reading you like a book, dissecting you piece by piece. She knew your name was fake, your background fake, your credentials fake. The person she’d seen around the tower didn’t exist, and now she was piecing together who you really were. A Hydra agent. A young one at that- she thought you looked a bit young for 23, but clearly had at least some decent skills to have snuck under her nose and get past Tony’s security checks for months. “Are you going to co-operate?” She inquired.
“I don’t have a choice.” You huffed, dropping the act. The red head grabbed your arm, leading you out of the lab and to the elevator, taking you up to the floor where the meeting rooms were (why Tony needed more than one you never knew), shoving you into one of them, sitting you down in one of the chairs. “JARVIS?” She called, hoping that the AI would still be working here.
“How may I be of assistance Miss Romanoff? I am aware that I seem to have lost connection to Mr Stark’s lab-”
“I’m also aware of that. Please let Mr Stark know immediately that I’ve caught an undercover agent in his lab- that was why you’ve been locked out.” Natasha interrupted the AI, not wanting to waste any time. “I’m keeping her in one of the meeting rooms.”
“Of course Miss Romanoff.” The AI responded. You slumped into your seat, chin resting on your chest as you kept your eyes on Natasha who guarded the door to ensure you didn’t make a run for it, and it wasn’t long till you could see Tony Stark through the glass walls of the room, and he looked back at you as he came into the room.
“So, who’s this little troublemaker, Romanoff?” Tony asked her as she shut the door behind him and locked the door.
“Undercover agent, probably HYDRA, it’s their usual style, though I think this one has been here a while… JARVIS?” Natasha called again.
“Our files say she’s been working here for 3 months. I’ve done a deeper background check on her files and it seems she does not exist, and is using a fake identity.” JARVIS answered. Your eyes were kept on Natasha after Tony entered the room- she was the deadly one, one of the main ones they had warned you about, and your eyes were focussed on her so closely you didn’t spot Tony stalking closer till he stepped in front of you, blocking your line of sight on the woman, and squatting down in front of you. In that moment, your fear of Natasha seemed to diminish as Tony looked at you like a disapproving parent or something. You felt almost ashamed. Almost.
“What’s your name? Your real name?” He asked you. You paused, not answering him. “Don’t make this difficult. If you cooperate then we-”
“Are you going to kill me?” You asked, interrupting him. Your question seemed to catch him off guard as he straightened his posture a little, blinking a bit.
“No. Of course not.” He spoke confidently, but also bewildered, which gave you some comfort that he was probably telling you the truth. “Is that what they told you? That if you failed this mission they put you on you’d be killed by us?”
“Or them… You caught me, if they find out they’ll kill me.” You spoke lowly and oddly calmly despite how terrifying that thought was.
“Were you in the Red Room?” Natasha inquired to you. It was something she remembered being told when she went on missions before she graduated, a way to control her and the others, and it seemed to line up with your age, but you shook your head. “How long have you worked for HYDRA?” She asked instead, and she caught you swallowing in response.
“Better question, how old are you?” Tony asked. “I’m not sure if you have a baby face or if you’re actually a child.”
“I’m not a kid.” You huffed.
“That’s something a kid would say. More specifically a teen.” He responded. “Especially a teen who’s close to no longer being one and wants to be seen as an adult. 16? 17?” He questioned, and when your eyes averted at the second guess, he knew he hit the jackpot. He knew from his own guessing that you were a kid, but to actually confirm it seemed to light something inside of him, a sort of despair and fury. You were a kid, a kid with training that would have taken years, and the brainwashing they’d ingrained in you to make you think they’d kill you is something they’d have to have put into your head at a young age. So young you knew nothing of the outside world. “Do you know anything other than HYDRA? Parents? Siblings?” He asked far more softly, tilting his head a little.
“...I had a mom. She gave me to them.” You answered him in barely a whisper.
“How old were you when she did that?” He asked, getting a shrug in response. “So young. Really young, probably younger than 4, maybe a baby or a toddler?” He asked, and you nodded. Your sudden willingness to respond to his questions didn’t go unnoticed, and Tony knew he had unlocked a way to get you to open up- softness and kindness, something you probably hadn’t seen… ever. “Do you know what her name was? Or what she called you?” He asked.
“I don’t know her name, but HYDRA called me Y/N, so I think that’s my name.” You answered him.
“Alright. I really want to find out more about you so I can help you, okay? Would you be okay if we get Dr Banner here so he can get a few swabs and maybe some blood to try and find out more about you? Who knows, maybe you have some siblings or some grandparents wondering where their granddaughter is and we can give you a fake name and you can start afresh, alright?” He suggested to you, and when he didn’t get a disagreement, he turned to Natasha, standing up. “Let’s up security to ensure she’s safe.”
The next couple of hours were admittedly quite boring. You were placed into a holding cell, searched for other weapons or technology, Dr Banner came, took some swabs from your mouth and some blood, and Natasha quizzed you about your entire time under HYDRA, what you had worked on prior, names you remembered and the sort of thing they put you through. Admittedly, you weren’t very talkative with her- she was quite stern and cold with you, and you were expecting that as soon as she got her answers she’d just put a bullet between your eyes, which was why you purposely kept some of your own information from her. Inevitably she gave up and left you be, and after another half an hour of boredom, you tried to get comfy, eventually finding yourself resting your head on the cold table in front of you, and closing your eyes, drifting uncomfortably between sleep and enough conscious to know when someone was walking by your cell, and it was enough to know when the door opened. Your eyes opened, your head already turned to see the door, letting you see it was Tony stepping in, stopping when he saw your eyes on him, before he shut the door behind him and moved to sit down as well, and only then you raised your head to look at him. You noted the slip of paper in front of him, which was odd since he usually liked to keep things digitalised, though he took one glance at it before placing it face down so you couldn’t read it.
“Did you find anything?” You asked him, his eyes looking up to meet yours, and you immediately knew from the emotions swimming in them, he had. There was a heavy feeling of guilt emitting from him, weighing his eyes down and making it hard for him to meet yours, and you knew it wasn’t good news. “If it makes you feel any better, I have no memories of my life before HYDRA, so I have no emotional ties. I’m not gonna cry.” You tried to assure him, mostly hoping he’d just spit it out. He cleared his throat finally, leaning on the table, resting his arms on the piece of paper.
“You had a mother.” He started, and your mind immediately noted the past tense.
“Dead?”
“Complications due to drug use. A few years ago.” He confirmed. “She formed the addiction a few weeks or months after your birth- I got records of your birth, they gave her a blood test then and she was clean and healthy. It was probably Postpartum Depression that led her there, and after your birth there’s no trace of you, so you weren’t taken by social services, or reported missing…”
“So she handed me over to them? Is that what you’ve established?” You inquired, sticking to your word and not showing emotion, remaining calm and collected and cold, and Tony nodded, his eyes dropping again, the guilt he was emitting seeming to only weigh heavier.
“I knew her… your mom.” He admitted after a pause, still not looking up. “Before she had you, before she… I knew her when we were in university together. She was studying something else in a different building, I don’t remember what, I never really got to know her despite the fact that…” He seemed to catch himself before he said anything, shuffling in his seat, and his nervousness was starting to rub off on you as you shuffled in your own seat, crossing your arms against your chest, not sure what he was getting at. Did HYDRA know he knew your mother? If so, why did they send you to do this mission? Why does that matter?
“How is this relevant?” You asked him blankly.
“We were…” He seemed to stumble over his words, before he rethought the, and spoke again. “We were able to track down a paternal line as well, and that proved that you’re… mine.” He confirmed, and it was like there was a flick of a switch, and you felt the change both in the room and in your body. Ah. That was why he was so anxious all of a sudden. His eyes stayed on you, but remained quiet, waiting for a reaction, though you weren’t giving him much. Your expression barely changed, with no signs of shock or joy or sadness or anything, other than confusion, judging by your eyebrows coming closer together.
“That doesn’t make sense. Why would HYDRA send me to do a mission involving you if they knew we were father and daughter?” You asked him.
“I don’t think they knew. We don’t know what kind of detail your mom gave about your background before handing you to them, or if she even knew I was your father to begin with. But that doesn’t matter right now- what matters now is that you’re here, you’re safe, and you’re my top priority right now. I need to keep you hidden to the best of my ability until we can even convince HYDRA it’s a lost cause to go after you, or think you’re dead.”
“So, a safe house?”
“Exactly. I’ve got this little cabin on the edge of a lake that surrounded by woodland, little to no internet connection, it’s practically hidden from a birds eye view. I’ll up security there, but I’ll have it excused by me also being there as a sort of getaway with me and Pepper. That’ll also let us get to properly know each other, see where we stand, what you’re comfortable with and how involved you’d like me to be. If at the end of the time there you decide you want to go and do your own thing I understand, I’ll support you with whatever you want to do. If you want to go live in a tiny town in Wyoming then I’ll find you a nice place there and I’ll just want to keep tabs on you to ensure you’re safe. If you want to make up for lost time, go to college and live with us until you’re ready to go, then I’m happy with that.” He explained, almost rambling in nature, but it brought a faint smile, but a smile none the less to your face.
“Thank you.” You interrupted him, making him stop, and relax a little and smile back.
Hope you like it! If you have any questions, please send them in!

Commander Shepard suffers the consequences of her resurrection as invisibly as possible
AO3 Here
The new Normandy was disorientating. It used to be fifteen steps to the medbay door, now it was twenty. The table used to seat six, now there were twelve Cerberus personnel sitting and staring as Shepard crossed the floor. She ignored them and focused on putting one foot in front of the other without her limp being obvious, and tapped the 'knock' sensor on the door.
"It's open," came a familiar voice from inside. Shepard was too tired to place it, but as soon as the door opened her face split into a wide grin.
"Doctor Chakwas!"
"Hello, Commander," the doctor said. She was far too professional to give Shepard the hug she so sorely needed, but her wry smile was good enough for now.
"What are you doing here? I never thought you'd work for Cerberus," Shepard asked.
Chakwas' expression turned hard. "I don't work for Cerberus, I work for you. I took a leave of absence from the Alliance to volunteer for Sirta."
Shepard looked at her properly - unlike the other personnel, Chakwas was wearing a red medical jumpsuit emblazoned with the Sirta Foundation icon. She nodded. "That's good. At least someone here isn't on the payroll."
Chakwas activated her omni-tool and started scanning Shepard with a warm orange beam that prickled slightly against her skin. "You don't trust them?" she asked.
"What are you doing?" Shepard asked, instead of answering.
"I'm scanning your implants for rejection," Chakwas replied, frowning at the readout on her wrist. "And I don't like what I see, Commander."
"I'm fine," Shepard said, standing up straight and clasping her hands behind her back in case any of the crew happened to look through the window. Chakwas noticed, like Shepard knew she would. Put on a face, the world is watching.
"Rejection sensitivity will present as scarring," Chakwas said. "Which will hurt."
Shepard nodded. It already did, but she didn't need to say that out loud for Cerberus' bugs to hear.
"Other than that, you're the picture of health. You should get some rest though."
Shepard snorted. "Your scans told you I'm sleepy ?"
Chakwas smiled. "No, your eyes told me that. I imagine Cerberus has had you running around shooting things, against my medical recommendations?"
Shepard shrugged. "It's what they need me for," she said, failing to keep the bitterness out of her voice.
"No, they need you to lead , Commander," Chakwas insisted, and switched off her omni-tool with a sigh. "Would it help if I ordered you to go to bed?"
Shepard grinned. "You're a civilian doctor now, remember? I can ignore your advice all I like."
It was a front, and Chakwas knew it. Shepard needed to present a front for all the spyware and prying eyes on the other side of the glass: Commander Shepard, icon of humanity, indomitable, unkillable, steadfast in the face of any obstacle. Nobody could see how much her left leg hurt her, or the shooting pain that came from turning her head to the left, or the thrumming ache that had been pulsing behind her eye since she woke up on Lazarus Station.
"As a favour, then?" Chakwas offered, and Shepard nodded. She could accept that.
"If you insist," she said, and tried not to sound too grateful. She was more exhausted than she had ever been in her life.
"I'll have EDI wake you when we reach Omega," Chakwas said, and Shepard thanked her on her way out.
There was a camera in the elevator, and it made Shepard wonder if Lawson had bugged her quarters too. Cerberus wasn't big on privacy, so it wouldn't surprise her, but she hoped she'd at least get to sleep alone. There had to be somewhere she could let the mask drop.
A discreet omni-tool scan as she entered the obnoxiously large living space revealed spy devices embedded in the clock, wardrobe interface, and the water monitor of the ridiculous fish tank. According to the scan, they were only recording sound, but she didn't trust a commercial VI to be accurate with military tech so she kept up her facade all the way to the ensuite bathroom. Thankfully, the scan was silent there. There could be bugs functioning outside of the detection range, but she no longer cared.
Her limbs had never felt so heavy. She had been unconscious or worse for two years, but it felt more like she'd spent that time on a treadmill with a Widow sniper rifle strapped to her back. Her leg was in agony, but even that was dulled by the base need to collapse and sleep . There was something she had to do first though. Now that she'd allowed herself to feel the pain, limping to the sink was slow, and every step sent a sharp stab that jolted up from her knee to the base of her spine. Shepard let it slow her down for once.
The face that looked back at her in the mirror was her own, but not quite. She'd only seen herself in windows and brushed metal walls, but this confirmed what she already expected. Stitching her body back together had left her scarred, but she could handle that: it  was a small price to pay to cheat death, after all. Her old scars, though, the scars that she bore with a soldier's pride - they were all gone, wiped away by a facial reconstruction that was either based on an out of date image or, worse, corrected flaws. Shepard's fingers played slowly over the unnaturally clean skin where they used to be and felt tears come to her eyes.
Her leg gave way. It had been threatening to go since Freedom's Progress, and she was relieved it had at least happened in private. Shepard stumbled backwards until her back was against the wall behind her and slid down, stretching her injured leg out in front of her. Her head lolled back into the corner and Commander Shepard cried. Her chest heaved and her breath came in sharp gasps - each one hurt as the implants holding her ribcage together complained. She was a half-broken half-machine with one purpose that she didn't feel like she could fulfill. All she wanted to do was sleep for a hundred hours. According to the clock in the other room, she had three.
Eventually, the tears dried up. She seriously considered staying where she was and sleeping on the bathroom floor, but for the sake of both the monitoring devices and her aching body she knew she had to get to bed. Getting back to her feet was hard and painful work, but she managed it. Shepard wiped her eyes, forced her back to straighten, and ignored how much walking confidently out of the bathroom hurt. It wasn't far to the bed, and her vision was already narrowing until all she could see was the crisp white covers and an impossibly fluffy pillow. At least comfort was something Cerberus valued more than the Alliance.
Shepard barely made it. She had to crawl onto the bed rather than walk all the way to the side, but that was natural enough - and crawling didn't hurt her leg nearly as much. As soon as her head met the pillow she felt the tension evaporate from her limbs and she let out a soft mumble as an impossible weight lifted from her shoulders. Now all she had to do was manage three hours without sleep-talking about how much it hurt.
Shepard's eyes drifted closed.
"Commander Shepard?" the soft, flat voice of the ship's AI said. Shepard opened her eyes again.
"EDI?" she said.
"We are arriving at Omega."
Shepard's heart sank into the shoes she was still wearing. The clock told her those precious three hours had been and gone, and she felt exactly the same.
Sitting up took more effort than fighting Saren.
"Thank you, EDI," she said. Her voice sounded clear and relaxed. She took a moment to silent curse the galaxy in general, and then got out of bed.

not the same - chapter 4
Characters : Jake x MC (Jade).
Words : 1160.
-
LOCKED
I'm woken up by an unusual noise.
But the noise is gone and it's all silent again before I get to find out the source. It's still pitch dark and the clock shows 3 AM.
Still no sign of Jake.
I could see the frustration and anger building up inside me now. I wanted to get out of here. The questions were now countless inside my brain.
Then I realized, I had blindly trusted Jake. I believed him when he said I was in danger. I didn't question him about where we were, I didn't think of it at that time because even though I didn't know anything about Jake or what kind of a person he was, I knew I could trust him. He knew I trusted him, what if he took advantage of that? But what would he gain from locking me here? Why would he lie to me? I was no use to him. It had to be something else. I had to find out. There's always a clue, always something... it was impossible to vanish without trace.
I leave the bed and look around me. I first check the table where Jake had his equipment laying around. There was nothing except an empty diary. That was probably here before we arrived. I check the drawers, cupboards, bathroom, and every inch of the room but nothing.
Jake is smart. I knew he had the ability to vanish with no trace, he was an expert in that field. But I had read endless crime fiction novels. He didn't know, I had researched and studied and read all the books I could find on crime, dark psychology, and more related genres. This is how you turn out when you are a detective's daughter.
Defeated, I sit back on the bed. And that's when I see it. Hidden on the curtains. So tiny, almost invisible.
A mini spy camera...
My heart breaks. Jake hid a camera to monitor my movements that meant, he really did locked me here. I turn the camera towards the windows.
That noise again. There's someone outside. Very near to the door.
My breathing stops. Is someone trying to open the door?
My eyes scan the room for some weapon but unable to find anything, I position the chair in front of me in panic. This is a stupid idea, Jade.
The door slowly creaks open and there's an unfamiliar woman peers in with a huge smile on her face.
"Hello there." She throws the door wide open and enters.
"Who are you?" My voice cracks and I clear my throat.
She ignores my question and sits on the bed. She pats to her side "Sit."
"Who the hell are you?" with my voice stronger.
She smirks "Calm down. I'm not going to kill you." She repeats "Sit."
I sit on the chair before me, pastering a fake smile "Who the hell are you?"
"I cannot answer that."
"Then tell me where are you here?"
She leans forward "I'm here to meet Jake." she adds "But I guess he's not here."
Who is this woman?
"How do you know Jake?"
She seems to be observing me and at the same time thinking of how to reply.
I don't give her a chance to speak "Look, I don't know you. I don't know why you are here or what connection you have with Jake but as you can see, there's no Jake here so you can leave."
It's as if she didn't hear anything I just said "Jake talked about you, you know."
Seriously, who is this woman? Jake... talked about me? Talked what about me?
She starts "He said-" but is interrupted because Jake enters.
Wow.
I pretend I can't permanently speak because it was so tough to control not saying what I wanted to say at that time. I don't move. I try to remain calm but inside I could feel everything boiling threatening to spill out any second.
Jake doesn't even look at me. He looks at her and says "Scarlett."
She gets up and hugs him "Jake! It's so nice to see you again."
He rests his hand on her back as she hugs him. And it somehow crushes me completely.
When she withdraws he says "Good to see you again too and this time I'm not even going to ask how you found me."
He shoves his bag on the side of the bed and removes his cap before he looks at me and he doesn't say anything. Nothing. Just an emotionless look after what he did to me. But I keep glaring at him and he looks away.
Turning my face to Scarlett, I speak with an obvious fake smile "I think you should leave." My voice reveals my frustration which I didn't intend.
She looks at Jake "Oh yeah, sure. I just wanted to let Jake know that he is safe, for now. But he should hurry up too because I cannot do it for much longer."
Wait. Do WHAT for much longer?
Jake nods "Thank you, again. And don't worry about us, we'll be fine."
She leaves and Jake turns to me "Jade."
I had nothing left to say. I was officially foolish now. I didn't know what was happening, I didn't know why Jake locked me, I didn't know why he would leave a spy camera, I didn't know where were we, I didn't know that woman or anything that was going on between them and most importantly, I didn't know who was standing in front of me or if I could trust him again. I just wanted to sit in a corner and cry and be alone.
Jake walks closer "Jade, we need to talk."
I shrug, sounding uninterested "I don't want to talk." I know he's staring at me but I don't look at him, I don't want to anymore.
"You are angry." He gets down on one knee so that he could look at me. I avoid his eyes and stare down at my hands.
"Let me explain." He whispers softly and my eyes glance at his face for just a second.
I reply coldly "I don't want any explanation." I get up, pushing my chair back "We should get going."
Was I being overdramatic? Because I just couldn't bear to talk to him right now, I was that angry. I needed to calm down first. I didn't care if I was being really mean right now. He deserved it.

From the spy camera to wireless camera or listening spy gadgets that brake lining for European models come in various configurations, some of the more recent innovations ingenious as they are completely innocuous looking. So much so that any unsuspecting target will not even be aware of the fact that their intentions being revealed or secrets exposed by the spy cameras in place that caught them red handed recorded in digital format. It depends on the profession you are involved in. Law enforcement or private detectives or even hobbyist has found these gadgets to be effective or fun to use.Life is not perfect, when in doubt sometimes it may be a necessity to discreetly be informed especially when it involves personal affairs.

Imagine a super young beloved welcoming old man Terry home with a passionate kiss, then she pulls a pouty face. “Melinda didn’t clean the oven.” “Oh?” Terry frowns. “You should go look.” Beloved points to the stove. Terry does so and when he opens the glass door he sees a singular dinner roll that beloved set in the stove. He eventually catches on yk beloved’s “bun in the oven 🤰” joke so what does the new Papa’s reaction like? (First time parent hehe)
Funny how I imagine Terry would instantly know something peculiar's up, because his staff isn't sloppy. He knows this. He has never maintained a careless, sloppy staff that clocks out without doing their extremely well paid job. He vets them extensively and wishes to inspire devotion. Picks the best of the best --- or at least ones he has a personal bias and liking towards and who to an extent, seem to like him back; people work more effectively that way, turns out. He wants disciplined houseworkers that are professional and leave nothing to chance, especially where his most precious belongings are concerned, namely beloved and beloved's comfort. So, confusion sets in when beloved mentions Melinda, who's, lets say, a kitchen attendee we made up, who didn't clear the oven. No, no. Terry's staff is just as perfectionist and in control of their environment as he is. He'd stand there, nonchalantly, a wrapped oven-bun in his hand, hand in his pocket, setting down the meal on the table and giving it a speculative, inquisitive look that travels back to beloved. He almost semi-expected someone to have planted a ticking time bomb in there, which he doesn't comment on. His first impressions are often the darkest things.
Never exactly the best --- I assign that to trauma.
But, we've headcanoned before that Terry would notice beloved's impending early pregnancy way before beloved themselves does, purely on intuition and observation alone. All those trips to the bathroom. Strange food cravings. Sensitivity. The beginnings of swelling. Complaints of stomach acid and the discomfort that comes with it. Sore breasts. Of course Terry notices because Terry tends to spy and stalk and eavesdrop far too much not to (undoubtedly observes beloved's activities through camera feeds when they think they aren't watched and has that same staff rat them out to him on the regular --- that's the voyeur in him), and where sex is concerned, I imagine someone as control oriented as him wouldn't leave going raw to pure chance. If he wants a pregnancy, it'll happen and if he doesn't, it won't --- he's far too old and far too smart to knock someone up if he doesn't mean it. Turns out, it did happen and it is being announced to him just now when he was on the verge of phoning his major domo to phone his secretary to phone is junior secretary to phone Melinda and question her about the kitchen mess, except...Terry's large hand comes down on beloved's belly, resting his palm there, feeling it.
-"You shouldn't joke around with an old man."-
He might comment, in full seriousness.
Of course he knows.
His face softens infinitely and he's staring at that belly in wonder.
The contraceptives were ditched and he's been having beloved and consummating all of this as naturally as he could for months beforehand, but it has happened and his lips quirk up into a smile. Thing is, I'm convinced Terry's never really though he'll be a father, be married, have a meaningful romantic relationship outside of fickle adventures, or have a family in the classical sense; all his life was a pursuit of power. Reinvention. Then more power. Blending in. More reinvention. More power. Now, in his mature years, after years of empty relationships, conquests, playboying and fucking around, it felt right and he's very intentionally impregnated beloved feeling he wanted them to be his absolutely. Feeling he wanted someone entirely his. Finding he wants to live on. Leave them with a part of himself. Eternal, like a serpent biting its own tail. He silently shuts the door to the kitchen so they cannot be disturbed or seen, his demeanor dignified and he sinks to his knees in front of the dining table chair beloved's sitting on, a bit tense, and he embraces their knees, pulling their whole body and frame close, kissing their hands, in a perfect blend of possessiveness, odd tenderness, grimness and want. Mine, mine, mine, all mine, he thinks.
He kisses their tummy.
Their legs.
Their fingers.
Their mouth.
Their face.
Their shoulders.
Everything.
Terry could devour beloved from happiness.
He smiles, in all genuineness.

Master List , P1 Chapter 1 , P2 Chapter 10 , P3 Chapter 2
The Rebirth...
The air in Lagos was dry, Wanda sat waiting at a coffee shop. She took a sip of her tea and listened to Natasha on the coms. She felt something was different here, it was a deep feeling in her gut. She sat uneasily surveying her surroundings. “Alright what do you see?” The captain spoke in her ear. “Standard beat cops. Small station. Quiet street. It’s a good target.”
“There’s an ATM in the south corner, which means…” he waited for the witch to give her answer. “Cameras” Natasha sat at a table nearby and smiled to herself. Although the two of them had been in love with the same man they bonded over their grief for the fallen soldier. She was proud of the girls' progress in the field. As the two continued to speak and Steve quizzes her on the details he’s already clocked. “...red one? It’s cute”
She inserts herself into the conversation “It's also bulletproof, which means private security, which means more guns, which means more headaches for somebody. Probably us.”
“You guys know I can move things with my mind, right?” She took another sip of her tea with a slight smile. “Looking over your shoulder needs to become second nature” The bird man hears this and another smile joins the team.
“Anybody ever tell you you’re alittle paranoid” the spy exhales through her nose in amusement at the jab.
“Not to my face. Why? Did you hear something?” Once she says this Steve cuts the banter to the side and they all begin to focus on the mission.
---time Skip like fuckin 10 mins later or something---
As Steve has Rumlow on the ground and knocks his helmet off he sees a face covered with bandages that shook him to his core “no…”. Natasha steals a glance from a distance and catches only a small glimpse that she chalks up to her grief, at least she does until she hears Steve's words in her ear. “Y/N?”
That name causes both women to freeze in their places. Wanda stares at the man's face which seemed to be filled with rage as he stared up at the Captain. She covered her mouth as she watched the man she loveds’ memory become tarnished in her head.
“That man is dead…” Steve released his grip on him “The avengers killed him, you killed him… All of you did” Steve clamped his grip back onto his collar and demanded from him the same information he came here for.
“Where the hell is Bucky?” Y/N simply laughed at him with a laugh that could only be described as cold and distant. Natasha felt her body chill at the sound even under the direct gaze of the sun. “They told me you’d ask that… wrong question though” he released a smoke bomb and escaped the super soldiers' grip. As the heroes waited for the smoke to clear they stood in shock. Steve kicked a nearby chair over as he took off his helmet and hung his head. Natasha ran towards him and held him in her arms.
---
Unbeknownst to them Y/N discarded his previous garb and watched from a distance as he loaded into his convoy. The sight of the two made him sick and fill with even more rage towards the captain and widow. He pulled away from the scene as the dozen of police vehicles raced by. A ring came from his pocket and he answered the device. “Hello…yes ma’am, I did as you asked… we are on our way to the extraction point now… ma-ma’am I don’t think that would be the wisest move… no ma’am I’m sorry…” he lowered his head as the voice began berating him. “Yes ma’am… I will” the call ended and he dialled a second number.
Back at the city centre, a phone that sat on a table began to buzz and Natasha eyed it suspiciously and slowly made her way towards the device. Picking it up she answered, the silence on the line only confirmed her suspicions. “Agent… how have you been? Hope you didn’t miss me too much.” she clenched her jaw at his words and looked around attempting to see him. “I’m guessing this isn’t a courtesy call…” she heard the same cold laugh from before. The differences between the one that used to fill her with heat and joy became highlighted in her heart. “On the contrary, I missed you…” she didn’t respond, this only lit a spark of anger inside him.
“did you know that after a bomb almost blows up half your body the only thing you think about is the people you loved… the people who already moved on-” she attempted to speak but he stopped her “-no, I’m not finished… I will never be finished till that team is ripped apart, you destroyed me.” the line went dead and suddenly the booths around them began to explode one by one. The crowd descended into panic and Wanda attempted to contain the blasts to each stand but they broke through and entered the crowd. She could only look on in horror at the scene.
---time skip 4 days later---
Wanda sits on the edge of her bed and listens to the news. They spewed hate and blame toward her. It didn’t seem to end. The words they used began to infiltrate her head. A knock at her door brought her out of her head. Looking up she found the captain eyeing her with sympathy “you know those outlets don’t have the most reliability.” he joins her on the bed and she stares at the screen. “No, I’m pretty sure they’re right… I mean they saw what happened.”
“It’s not your fault…”
“Oh well they seem to disagree” she points at the TV and a frame of her failing to contain the blast is shown on the screen as if they are listening to her.
He turned off the tv and placed the remote back down. “Turn the TV back on. They’re being very specific…”
“I should have ordered an evacuation once the fighting started… He was a good match and I wasn’t thinking straight.” he looked down at his hands, the ones that held Y/N in them “I saw his face and my brain didn’t know what to do”
“I couldn’t concentrate when I saw him… it felt like I was standing in the rain with him again… his eyes were completely different… and people died because of me” She stared at the black screen and Steve placed his hand on her shoulder.
“This job . . . we try to save as many people as we can. Sometimes that doesn't mean everybody. But if we can't find a way to live with that, next time . . . maybe nobody gets saved.” As he finished speaking Vision phases through the wall and catches her by surprise.
“Vis! I thought we talked about this” he looked confused and motioned towards the door.
“Well the door was open so I only assumed… sorry, but Captain Rogers wished to know when Mr. Stark was arriving.” Steve didn’t make eye contact with Vision but nodded. The android began to exit through the door. “Oh, and he’s brought a guest” Steve looked at him and cocked his head. “We know who it is?” the synthezoid mirrored the captain and responded.
“The Secretary of State”
---
As Wanda sat there listening to Ross speak to the team. “Sokovia” she saw her home country in ruins and lowered her head. Vision sat next to her and held her hand. Her stomach churned at his touch. Pietro sped out of the room without a word and only a perturbed look. Next, he showed the images and video from Lagos. That’s when Steve spoke up “That’s enough” he stared down at the secretary in front of the room who nodded his head.
“For the past four years, you've operated with unlimited power and no supervision. That's an arrangement the governments of the world can no longer tolerate. But I think we have a solution.” he placed a thick document in front of Wanda and spoke once more. “This way we can avoid any more unnecessary collateral to the public and prevent rogue agents… like L/N” She slides the document down the table and remains silent. “The Sokovia Accords. Approved by 117 countries . . . it states that the Avengers shall no longer be a private organization. Instead, they'll operate under the supervision of a United Nations panel, only when and if that panel deems it necessary.” His words command steves attention and he looks up from the thick document.
“The Avengers were formed to make the world a safer place. I feel we've done that.” His stern stare doesn’t phase Ross. who simply looks down and places his hand on the table before maintaining eye contact with the Captain.
“Tell me, Captain, Do you know where Agent L/N is right now? Do you know where Thor and Dr. Banner are?” He takes the man's silence as his answer and continues. “If I misplaced a couple of 30 megaton nukes . . . you can bet there'd be consequences. Compromise. Reassurance. That's how the world works. . .Believe me, this is the middle ground.”
Rhodey speaks up finally “So, there are contingencies.” Ross ignores his words and gets to his next point “Three days from now, the UN meets in Vienna to ratify the Accords.” he looks over towards Tony “Talk it over” as he begins to move towards the door Natasha asks him “And if we come to a decision you don’t like?”
He stops for a moment and looks back at her. “Then you retire.” and with those words, he leaves and a small smile is stifled by the spy.
---
As Zemo is currently attempting to gain entry into his targets' house in Cleaveland. Y/N sits in the car playing a game on his phone. He laughs for a moment before he hears a body drop and looks up. He spots Zemo entering the house and dragging a body, the door remains open which is Y/N’s signal to join in on the fun.
Minutes later the two are ready to begin their interrogation.
“You have kept your looks, Colonel. Congratulations.” he speaks to the man who is dangling above a filling sink “Mission Report: December 16, 1991” The man has fear in his eyes and begins to see a second figure approach from the shadows. “Who are you, people?”
“With none of my respect sir, answer the man's question,” Y/N speaks up with his face still hidden in the shadows. Zemo holds up a hand and answers the mans question “My name is Zemo, This is a companion of mine… I will repeat my question. Mission Report: December 16, 1991?”
The Colonel ignores the question once again changing the subject. “How did you find me?” Y/N lets out a small laugh and approaches the man now fully in the light. His face is seen without bandages and now we see the scar that crosses from his nose down to his neck. The indent in his chin from the shrapnel only makes his scowl more intense. “He didn’t… I did, my old friend -you know the black widow, well when S.H.I.E.L.D fell she release HYDRA files to the public. All I needed was a man who could decipher them, and here we are.” he slapped the Colonel's cheek and backed away. “Now answer him.” his face became stone and he let Zemo speak.
“Mission Report: December 16, 1991” the man spits in his face “Go…to…hell” Y/N attempts to move forward but is stopped by Zemos arm. He leans towards the Colonel and turns the tap off. “HYDRA deserves its place on the ash heap. So your death would not bother me. But I'd have to use this book . . . and other bloodier methods” he motions to the man behind him “…to find what I need. I don't look forward to that. You'd only be dying for . . ." he shrugs at the Colonel "your pride.” he studies his eyes and nods before turning the tap on once again. The water level rises and the Colonel attempts to lift his head but Y/N quickly holds his head below the water line as he thrashes and slowly but surely begins to go limp.
“Where to next?” he watches as Zemo takes the red book and begins up the stairs “We go to Vienna, my friend”.
---
As the Avengers begin to bicker like school children, Vision speaks up “I have an equation.”. Sam stops his fight with Rhodey and turns to the robot, he holds his temples with one hand and speaks “Oh, this will clear it up.”
“In the eight years since Mr. Stark announced himself as Iron Man, the number of known enhanced persons has grown exponentially for example Agent L/N who is a known threat. And during the same period, the number of potentially world-ending events has risen at a commensurate rate.” Steve looks away from the Accords and up at Vision.
“Are you saying it's our fault?” She cocks his head and crosses his arms.
Vision looks as though he is thinking for a moment before he responds “I’m saying there may be a causality. Our very strength invites challenge. Challenge incites conflict. And conflict … breeds catastrophe. Oversight... oversight is not an idea that can be dismissed out of hand.” Rhodey looks over at Sam and mouths the word ‘Boom’ while making an explosion effect with his hands.
---
As the Avengers continue their spat Y/N is making a call from a pay phone. The line picks up and he hears a chipper voice “Ma’am… yes I promise the plan is going well… I made the call as you asked- no ma’am she fell right into the trap… Once I am in Vienna the next phase will start…”. He looks around the street and up at the former Avengers tower. “They will pay for the people they’ve hurt… " he nods his head at the voices requests being made "I assure you Zemo will be dealt with once his use is served.” the line goes dead and he makes his way down the street once again.
Zemo sits and waits near his car for the man in the ballcap and hood. As they drive off towards the airstrip Y/N asks him a question.
“Why did you reach out to my employer of all people? You seem capable of doing this all yourself.” he fiddles with a piece of concrete in his pocket. A piece of the rubble The other man continues to look forward and drive as he speaks “We had a common goal… and I saw the resources they could provide” the passenger nods his head and stares out the window at the passing landscape.
---
Believing in something strongly can more often or not end in pain. Fighting for your belief can hurt you at times. Especially when you lose those closest to you.
Steve stood in the isle of the church alone. A pair of footsteps approach and he doesn’t need to look up to know who it is “When I came out of the ice, I thought everyone I had known was gone. Then I found out that she was alive. I was just lucky to have her.” Natasha looks at him sympathetically “She had you back, too.” He sighed and figured the reason she showed up was the talk politics. He gave in and ask his question “Who else signed?”
She looked at her clasped hands “Tony. Rhodey. Vision”
“Clint?”
A light smile appears at the mention of the man “He says he’s retired” she says it as though she doesn’t fully believe the words he uttered to her.
“Wanda?”
Natasha remained quiet for a second before speaking “She’s TBD… I think after Lagos she might need some time, more reasons than one…” She pushed herself off the isle “I’m off to Vienna for the signing of the Accords. There's plenty of room on the jet” Steve bows is head and sighs. She knows that he’s already made up his mind. “Just because it's the path of least resistance doesn't mean it's the wrong path. Staying together is more important than how we stay together.” After losing Iggy she was determined to make sure the team stayed the family it was. She was not only trying to convince steve of her choice but herself.
“I know that since you lost him this team has meant more… but what are we giving up to keep it?” She let out a sigh and he shook his head “I can’t sign it… I’m sorry”
“I know…” she stared into his eyes and saw slight confusion rise on his face “I didn’t want you to be alone… you were there for me when I grieved, it's the least I could do” She held her arms out for an embrace and pulled him into a tight hug. She wanted him to know that even though they were on opposite sides that she was still his family. He wasn’t alone.
---
In Vienna Natashas’ attention is pulled away by a UN staffer. “Excuse me, Ms. Romanoff?” She seems nervous to speak to the spy, apparently, even those who work for world leaders still get anxious around superheroes. “Yes?”
“These need your signature.” She hands her a clipboard with a document on it and Natasha signs it “Thank you” she gives the staff member a light smile to put her at ease and thanks her as well. Suddenly she hears a voice next to her that is smooth and charismatic “I suppose neither of us is used to the spotlight.” she faces the voice and it's none other than T’Challa the crown prince of Wakanda, a small nation that is in the heart of Africa.
She smiles at the prince and indulges him “Oh, well, it’s not always so flattering” she knew this from first-hand experience. The press had attempted to capitalize on Y/N's death, they ran stories about the Avengers all the time but the way that they demonized his legacy hurt her deeply. They ran stories uncovering his S.W.O.R.D. training incident and some even said they were glad he was gone… those outlets were quickly bought up by Stark industries.
“You seem to be doing alright so far. Considering your last trip to Capitol Hill . . . I wouldn't think you would be particularly comfortable in this company.” He had very keen observation skills, she gave him that. “I’m not” It was the truth. Not since her days in the red room did she trust politicians. No matter how clean their hands seemed she could always see the blood they wiped off. “That alone makes me glad you’re here, Miss Romanoff.” She cocks her head at his comment.
---
Outside we see a van pull up to the exterior of the building, one man gets out dressed in a perfectly ironed suit. His lapel holds a pin of the Russian flag. His badge clears him for entry by security and he gets searched. While the room upstairs begins to assemble for the king of Wakanda T’Chakas’ speech, he makes his way as he enters the room he sees the bright red hair that used to capture his attention. She was in her seat awaiting the meeting to begin. He feels the corner of his mouth rise and makes his way to his own seat. Sitting next to the woman he can feel his heart racing. He can feel his old feelings for her begin to surface and he commands himself to control them. He takes a sip of the water in front of him and then turns to the woman as the King begins to speak to the room. He leans towards her and whispers low enough that only she’d hear.
“I did miss being close to you~” her head turns towards him and first notices the pin, she moves her eyes upwards and her Emerald Eyes lock into his own E/C that she could recognize anywhere. Her breath is stuck in her throat and she feels as though he is frozen in place. “What? You surprised to see me?...” he gives her a cocky smile “as if I’d ever miss our big day…” his words begin to sink into her brain. Our? What does he mean by that? She notices he now has a clenched fist between the two of them and she can feel the scalding heat that is radiating from it. She doesn’t dare to move as he continues to speak. “This is just the beginning” he reaches for his glass of water once again and seems unphased by her fear “you should have never unlocked my heart… All of this would have been avoided” He gets up and makes his way slowly to the left-hand side of the room.
He spots his partner drive away and begins to heat up both of his arms. The sleeves of his suit are beginning to steam and soon enough his arms have caught fire. The voice of T’Challa bellowed through the room and he raced towards his father. A scream of pure fury was let out of the human bomb and the room was filled with broken glass and fire. He hit the room with a burst of smoke and took one last look at the shocked woman. She looked into his eyes but felt a tug on her arm. When she looked back the man was gone. At that moment she knew the man she loved was gone too…
---
As Steve says goodbye to Sharon Sam walks over to him urgently. “Steve. There's something you gotta see” He walks the two over to the TV mounted on the wall playing the breaking news from Vienna. The anchor begins to list off all known information on the event “A bomb that was smuggled into…” Sharon pulls out her phone and begins to make calls as Steve and Sam are glued to the screen. “...Ripped through the UN building in Vienna. More than 70 people have been injured. At least 12 are dead, including Wakanda's King T'Chaka. Officials have released a video of a suspect who they have identified as James Buchanan Barnes, the Winter Soldier. The infamous HYDRA agent,  linked to numerous acts of terrorism and political assassinations. He was able to get past security and detonate the device from inside the meeting itself.” Steve exchanged looks with Sam and they both couldn’t believe what they were hearing.
---
Natasha knows it wasn’t Bucky… She knows those eyes anywhere. His voice was the same, he didn’t even attempt to hide it. He wanted her to know it was him. He wanted to torture her with this knowledge. She watched as T’Challa walked away with determination in his heart. Her phone goes off and she knows exactly who it could be. “You alright?” Steve sounds concerned but she knew that he had another reason to check-in. “Ah, yeah, thanks. I got lucky…” she looks around at the faces that pass by her. She knew the reason she survived… he wanted her to. He wanted her to watch what comes next. She also knew that she couldn’t give up who the real culprit was. There was no evidence yet to clear Barnes of the blame. “I know how much Barnes means to you. I really do. Stay home. You'll only make this worse. For all of us. Please.” she can feel Steve's tone shifts and the smile on his face simply through his voice “You saying you’ll arrest me?” she continues to look around at the emergency responders hoping to catch a glimpse at him.
“No. Someone will. If you interfere. That’s how it works now” still no sight of him
“If he’s this far gone, Nat, I should be the one to bring him in.” She wanted to tell him how he had the wrong guy but his reasoning hatched a plan in her. “Why?” she prodded in an attempt to keep him on the line “Because I’m the only one least likely to die trying.” with those words he hung up and she knew what she had to do.
---
3 hours later in a dark hotel room.
Y/N removed his hood and cap as he set his food down on a small table. Turning on the light he was surprised by the woman he left in the dust earlier. Literally. She sat on the edge of his bed in her mission suit. He recovered from his shock and eyed her up and down. They stayed in silence for what felt like an eternity. Finally, he spoke. “Took you longer to find me than I expected…” he walked towards his food and began to unload the takeout. “-well, given your last attempt ended with me covered in the rubble for a month” This made her body tense as she thought over the times the site was searched.
“I came here to try and understand why you’re doing all of this…” she examined the way he moved as though he was walking on needles. He sat in the small armchair opposite her and began to eat. No emotion laced his face.
“It’s simple… I’m getting paid and I get what I want” She examines his body language as she asks him the question he’s been begging her to ask.
“What exactly do you want?” He stops eating and puts down his food. Staring up at the ceiling he pretends to rack his brain “Well… I want the end of the Avengers, you left me in that rubble to rot… I screamed for weeks and nothing happened.” he leaned forward and stared into her Emerald Eyes “I waited to die… I wanted to die by the time I was saved.” he got up and walked to the minifridge where he grabbed two beers. “Now I owe a debt to those people who acted like angels. And your downfall is simply my reward.” he hands her a bottle and sits back down. Natasha is attempting to piece together the information she just heard. “No one but S.W.O.R.D. and S.H.I.E.L.D. had access to that site. Who could have possibly saved you?”. He releases one of his new bone-chilling laughs, it was as if someone else had taken his body.
Taking a sip of his beer he cracked a smile “Oh… they are a group that isn’t even on your radar. -it’s shocking isn’t it? Tell me what went through your mind when you saw me in Lagos?” His smile was gone in an instant and he was back to being made of stone. He didn't move his eyes away from hers for a moment. “Tell me…” His tone showed his anger and his cards bled. She saw the emotion in his eyes as he scooted his chair closer to her and she could feel the heat radiating from him as his anger rose.
“I felt like I was dreaming… I was in disbelief” she now took a sip of the drink and kept her eyes locked on his. “I’ve been grieving you and suddenly you appeared right in front of me. -I didn’t want to believe it was you” he rolled his eyes at her words. “No… you finished grieving me as soon as Steve swooped in. He saw a chance and took it…" He got up and stood close to her. "...so did you”  Looking down at her didn’t feel as good as he thought it would he was only reminded of his time with her. As she looked deep into his eyes she saw a glimpse of the man she loved. She saw a reflection of herself in his eyes and she knew she was doing the right thing. She jabbed a needle into his leg and injected him with the highest dosage of tranquillizer Tony would supply her. “I’m not going to let you leave me again” She was promising to him this time. His eyes filled with rage as he ripped out the needle and collapsed to the floor.  She knelt beside him and dialled on her phone. “Tony. I got him…”
---
As he woke he felt the cool air of the containment cell wash over him. Jumping to his feet swiftly he took in the exact surroundings. Glass encased him from all angles and there was only a bed, toilet, and small sink. As he reached the glass barrier he began an attempt to melt through it but to his surprise, he had no effect on it. He began to hit the glass repeatedly until his hand became bloody. Quickly in came Tony who seemed to have a face of disappointment on display. “Please know this is for your own protection.” Y/N laughed at the man and hit the wall once again.
“You just think I’m a hazard… like the rest of them…” he motioned around the cell “some kind of animal who needs to be on display?...” sitting down on the bed he watch as Tony circled the cell.
“I just want to help you… you’re not yourself. This-” he waves his hand in a circle “-I’m not buying it, first of all, you decided to attack the two people you care about most, then you blow up the UN… the boastful yet shy little agent I knew would have only been forced to do all of that…” he saw a shift in the man in front of him “am I right?... I there someone forcing you to do all of this?”. The man shifted away from Tony and hid his face. “Tell me now, I can help you Y/N” Suddenly Natasha burst into the room and pulled Tony out. “Romanoff! What the hell! I was getting throu-”
“You were getting played!” she tugged him along to the surveillance room. As soon as the monitor showed his cell you could hear his laughter echo through the room as he mocked the man who attempted to reach him. Chills ran down Tonys' neck as he heard the man. He looked at Natasha who only gave him a solemn expression. “Tony, I think he’s gone…”.

DWOHT short film idea
If there was ever a DWOHT mv I’d want it to be like a mini movie. A branch off from the Bad Blood mv. Taylor and Karlie sparred against each other as she was training to beat Selena. Imagine using DWOHT as a song to explore running into each other again years later whilst spying it up.
Like imagine a mv where Taylor is on assignment collecting intel that leads her to an underground high roller casino. She is in disguise and has a contact on the inside. She’s scoping out the space trying to find out who runs this operation. While she’s surveying the room Karlie appears from a back room on the arm of the owner of the casino. Karlie is going around the room mingling with guests. Taylor clocks Karlie and her brain flashes back to the bad blood sparring match and other moments from training we didn’t see.
Taylor’s contact at the location walks her over to the bar and tells her Karlie is the wife of the casino owner. They’ve been running this operation together for years. Taylor takes in the information and observes as the camera pans to Karlie at a craps table socializing and throwing the dice. As she throws, the camera slows down and follows along the sight line of her eyes from the dice up to Taylor’s eyes at the bar. And for just a millisecond she freezes before going back to socializing. Taylor turns around to ask her contact another question and when she looks back to the craps table Karlie is gone.
Taylor says to the contact “I need to get into that office. Is there any other way in? The contact says the couple has private parties in the back room that leads to the office but you have to be invited in.”
Taylor spots the owner’s rich drunk friend and starts making conversation and flirting. He tells the owner to let her in so he can get lucky. Once inside the blue and red lit private space, the drunk rich guy starts trying to make a move on Taylor. Just as she starts to rebuff Karlie appears in front of their booth with a couple of drinks. She sits down without being invited and the drunk friend straightens up in her presence. Karlie never breaks eye contact with Taylor. Karlie tells her she has a familiar face that she just cannot place. She starts listing off possible events where they could’ve met.
Taylor’s contact also made it into the private room and created a distraction. Karlie got up to check on things and Taylor used the opportunity to make her way to the back office. She slips in unseen and begins going through drawers and snapping photos of papers. She finds a laptop and plugs in a flash drive to copy all the files.
The scene cuts back to Karlie returning to the booth only to find the drunk rich guy passed out on the table and Taylor no where to be seen. Karlie looks towards the door just as the owner comes to talk to her. Meanwhile Taylor is waiting for the files to copy and keeping an eye on the door.
Karlie and the owner start making their way to the back office. Karlie stops to talk to someone and the owner keeps going. The owner comes in just in time to catch Taylor pulling out the flash drive and in the surprise she drops the flash drive. He charges towards her and is about to call for help when Karlie appears behind him and sticks him with a syringe that knocks him out immediately.
Karlie and Taylor stare at each other in silence for a good few seconds. Then Karlie says “took you long enough.” And Taylor says “well you’re the one that wanted to chat at the booth.” Karlie replies, “well sorry for trying to save you from Gropes Mcgee back there.” Taylor cuts back, “I don’t need you to save me.” “And yet here we are…” as Karlie motions to the passed out owner on the floor. “Fair.”
The next scene is Taylor back at headquarters with Mariska Hargitay as the commander is congratulating her on the successful mission. Taylor asks why no one told her Karlie was so deep undercover. Mariska says “she’s not undercover. She left the organization years ago.” In that moment Taylor checks the flash drive and realizes there’s a paper thin clear tracker on it. Taylor’s memory flashes back to Karlie picking up the flash drive and handing it back to her. Taylor is shocked back to the present when the security breach alarms start blaring. Mariska starts screaming for everyone to get to the safe bunker. Taylor doesn’t follow. Then the entire headquarters explodes.
The scene cuts to Taylor’s hands around a mug in her kitchen with natural light pouring in through the window. She brings the mug up to sip as the camera pulls back to show her full body in frame. Another set of hands appear wrapping around her belly from behind. It is Karlie.
Their escape plan was both of them getting out and leaving everything else behind.

Stuck
 Ringing the doorbell, you stood anxiously on the doormat outside the expensive apartment, listening for approaching steps but hearing none. So when the door suddenly opened you let out a tiny yelp of surprise, before taking a deep breath to steady your racing heart;
 “Good afternoon Mr Walker”
 The giant of a man stood in front of you, recognition quickly passing over his face when he saw your uniform of black dress and simple black ballet flats;
“Oh yes, the maid. C’mon in”
You worked for a high security housekeeping company, strict controls and stringent background checks as you were contracted to the pentagon and the agents and staff that worked there. You always worked on an ad-hoc basis, only visiting homes when clients or agents requested it. This was however the fourth time cleaning Mr Walker’s apartment, always having to work around suitcases littering the halls and various weapons being cleaned and serviced on the kitchen table.
 Holding your pail of cleaning supplies you waited as he shut the door, talking at you rather than to you;
“Okay so here’s what you need to do today; clean the bathroom and kitchen, vacuum the rugs throughout, change the bedding and leave in the laundry hamper”
 You nodded;
 “Sweeping throughout too sir?”
“No need, the Roomba does the smooth floors, it just can’t get onto the deep pile rugs” he hooked an earbud into one ear; “I’m going out for a run, I’ll be two hours”
Swallowing nervously you nodded, watching as he hooked the other earbud in and left without another word, leaving you staring at the white wood of the door after he’d closed it.
Mr Walker both scared and excited you. A beast of a man, he was all muscle, and each time you had visited he had excused himself so not to be there whilst you were. The fact that he was always in a tank top and running shorts that did nothing to hide any part of him had you stretching your concentration to its limits in order to get your job done and not drift off into a fantasy land that you saved for when you were curled up in your own bed.
Getting to work you started on the kitchen, stacking the dishwasher with the various dirty crockery that littered the room, cleaning the surfaces, sink, stove. Next up you hit the rugs, working quickly as you vacuumed, before heading to the bathroom.
 Taking a deep breath you opened the door and relaxed. Cleaning bathrooms for single men were what you always dreaded, but at least as you started to cleanse every surface including the toilet, you realised that Mr Walker thankfully had good aim. Finally it was time for the shower, and as you pulled open the glass door and looked down you let out a shriek; the largest spider you’d ever seen sat in the corner. Grabbing the handled loofah you crept a little closer, letting out a laugh when you saw it wasn’t in fact an arachnid; instead it was a clump of dark hair;
“Well, the man does have a lot of hair” you muttered to no-one but yourself, thinking about how his chest was covered in a mat of soft hair, exposed in the low neck of his running tank.
Half an hour later you wiped your brow on the back of your arm. Mr Walkers bathroom had in fact been a nightmare, the man shed more hair than a fucking German Shepherd. Washing your hands and glancing at your watch, you saw that you had fifteen minutes left of the two hours, taking a deep breath before grabbing the clean linens from the closet.
Mr Walkers bedroom was white. There was no personalisation, no trinkets. Slipping your ballet flats off you climbed onto the bed, mentally taking in the sheer size of it; it must be a super king if not larger. Your mind immediately went south, imagining Mr Walker fucking on the bed, sprawled out as you straddle his face - you had always wondered what that moustache felt like against your skin - and you ride his tongue, or him pile driving you into the mattress, his hard body pressing against every inch of you as he fills you.
Moving up the bed you tugged on the sheet, cursing as it wouldn’t pull out from between the mattress and headboard. With a huff you shuffled forward, pushing your hands down between them, tugging on the expensive white cotton. Pushing your arm down a little further you could just about feel that it was caught on something, moving to pull back and then it happened… you were stuck.
“What the...?” you muttered, realisation hitting you that your watch had slipped into the gap and was now preventing you from pulling your arm out. You could feel your heart rate increasing as you struggled to set yourself free, pulling against the strain but it did little to help.  You pushed and pulled and grunted, hiking your dress up so you could widen your stance on the bed, but nothing worked. You frantically looked around to see the time, yet there wasn’t a clock or display in sight, and you could hardly look at your watch. If you didn’t get out of there soon Mr Walker…
 “Well isn’t this a pretty sight…”
 No. Please no. Oh god no. You screwed your eyes shut, the heat of embarrassment rising to your skin;
 “I’m stuck” you whispered, letting out a yelp when you felt the bed dip behind you, feeling his hands gently resting on your hips;
“Unfortunate for you, maybe not so for me...”
 -
 Five minutes ago.
August sat in the small room, staring at the laptop screen in front of him. As ideas went, this was both his best and worst idea yet. Installing hidden security cameras in his apartment had been at first simply for security whilst he was away on missions, but he’d found a secondary use for it once the agency had recommended your employers as a maid service. He hadn’t been expecting someone as pretty as you, you had this look of innocence about you that made him just want to corrupt you and ruin you. He may be a bastard but he wasn’t a heathen, so instead of just turning on the charm offensive he had found an abandoned room in his apartment building and set up a small surveillance center. One with a chair, a laptop, a bottle of lube and a box of tissues.
August Walker had just spent the last two hours edging himself as he watched you bend over in that knee length dress, adjusting camera angles to see up your skirt as you bent over. August Walker was one step away from full on pervert. And he had no regrets at all.
That was until he saw you on his bed, and realised you were trapped. Temptation got the better of him, so stuffing his hard dick back into his running shorts, he quickly left the room and silently made his way back to his apartment.
He entered and could smell the pleasant scent of the cleaning fluids you’d used, the quiet grunts as you tried to free yourself from your predicament. Toeing off his sneakers he silently made his way through the hallways, suppressing a groan as he saw you on his bed; ass up face down, the fabric of your dress stretched over the tops of your thighs, the fabric moving as you moved to expose glimpses of your buttocks. He pressed a hand over the obscene bulge in his shorts before moving to the bed.
 -
“Mr Walker!” you squeaked out in surprise; “You’re back… umm I’m stuck, my watch… I can’t get my wrist back through the gap between the headboard and the mattress”
 “Oh… what a shame. Let me help…”
You were expecting him to move around you, but instead he covered your body with his own and grasped your arms. Your mind was lost as you took in how his massive hands could completely circle your wrists, the weight of him above you almost suffocating, and when he started to tug you knew you were done for.
 The gentle rocking of your bodies, rubbing against one another was all it took for a moan to leave your mouth involuntarily, the feeling of his hard dick rutting against the crease of your ass making you embarrassingly wet almost instantly. He grunted above you;
 “Huh, well that didn’t work…”
 Pushing himself up he knelt behind you, still pressing his hard-on against your ass as his hands gripped your hips and he tugged gently, however all he did was pull you back against his crotch;
“This fabric is slippery, hang on a second…”
Pressing your head to the bed you felt him flip your skirt up, hearing a sharp intake of breath behind you as he took in the bright red thong you were wearing beneath your dress. His warm hands smoothed over your buttocks before gripping onto your hips and half-heartedly tugging again.
It was no good, you were too turned on to even object. You’d lusted after your client for weeks, and now you found yourself in this predicament which it was obvious he had no intention of helping you with, but instead had other ideas that you had no desire to object to. You were rocking back against his dick, the quiet moans escaping your throat telling him you were more than into it, so when you felt his fingers curl around the elastic of your underwear and tug them down to your mid-thigh, all you could do was arch your back and present your pussy for his inspection.
Thick fingers parted your folds, teasing your nectar to your aching clit where a thumb rubbed hard circles against the sensitive bud. His other hand was lost from you for a moment and you could feel him moving, before you felt the thwack of his heavy dick against your ass.
With your hand trapped and your body stretched out you could barely look over your shoulder, but when you did you could see the impressive bulk of your clients body towering over you, the sight making your cunt clench with anticipation.
 “Excited, are we?”
 “Please Mr Walker…”
“Please what?” You moaned and his quiet chuckle filled the room; “You gotta say it”
 “Please fuck me”
 “Eager little thing, aren’t we?”
 “Please…”
“Well, as you asked so nicely…”
He took hold of his dick and dragged the bulbous tip through your folds, dousing himself with your juices before lining himself up with your entrance. When you felt him push just the tip inside you it felt like you were being split open, he must be as thick as your wrist, and as he continued to force his way into your body it felt like he was the length of your forearm.
“Such a good little slut, taking my dick…” his voice filled your senses as your body fought to relax and allow him deeper, your juices running down your legs where he would rock back and forth to lubricate his girth before pushing another punishing inch in to you.
Your velvet walls parted yet gripped him tight, and you could feel every ridge, bump and vein as he started to fuck your tight pussy. With every pull and push your head swam, your body moving back to meet his thrusts as his massive hands gripped onto your hips and he started to slam into you harder and harder. When his hand came down onto your ass the loud smack surprised you just as much as the pain, but you arched your back even more like a bitch in heat.
 He reached beneath you, tugging at the neckline of your dress with both hands, before the seam of the collar broke and the soft jersey stretched enough for him to tug the fabric down. His fingers caught in the lace cups of your bra, and whilst still plunging deep into you from behind, he was able to let your titties swing free and he grabbed a handful;
“Such pretty tits. Next time you clean I want you in just your underwear so I can watch them swing. Might get you scrubbing the floors so I can see you bent over and ready for me”
You shuddered at his words, he already paid a premium for your services, and the electronic tip that he’d sent through had been more than generous, the last visit alone you had been surprised by the triple figures, but more than grateful that you were able to pay the bills.
His hands had found their way back to your ass, smoothing over the soft skin as he continued to fuck you, the wide ridge that ran along the underside of his length rubbing so beautifully against your g-spot, you were sure you were going to cum soon.
 He pulled your cheeks apart and you felt him spit on your asshole, the warm liquid pooling for a moment before his thumb started to rub insistently over the brown rose. Burying your head in the soft sheets you allowed your body to relax as he breached your back door with his thumb, the wide digit stretching you as he pushed in as far as he could;
“This ass is incredible. I can’t wait to fuck it”
 You let out a tiny yelp at the idea of trying to fit his massive cock in your ass;
 “Mr Walker!”
“Oh, don’t you worry, I’ll make sure you’re stretched out first. Might want to add a plug to the uniform list for next time, make sure you’re ready lubed and stretched for me. But don’t you worry your pretty little head, this time I’m just going to cum deep in this sweet pussy of yours. Are you on birth control? Are you ripe?”
 You hadn’t even considered birth control. Your insurance had stopped covering you a couple of years back, so when you had gone on the occasional date that had ended up between the sheets, you’d simply resorted to condoms;
 “No… no…”
“Oh yes. I’m going to cum deep inside you, let my seed rest within your womb. God, I’d love to see your belly round with my child, I bet your tits would be even more impressive. Hmmn yes, that’s fucking perfect…”
You hadn’t thought it possible, but all that he said was turning you on even more, and it wasn’t just you that liked the idea, you could feel him swell within you, his girth growing thicker as his arousal grew. The added stretch was driving you closer and closer to your own orgasm, the dual stimulations of your pussy and ass both being filled had you trembling with need.
“Are you going to cum for me?” his voice was hoarse and dry, an edge of desperation to it too; “I’m close, gonna shoot my load in you soon. You’d better cum before I do ‘cos once I’m done I’m pulling out and will leave you dripping with my seed and on edge…”
The threat of being left on the precipice was enough to push your body over the edge, cumming hard as your body held him so tight he thought he wouldn’t be able to pull out. The vice like grip had him throwing his head back as your body milked him, his own orgasm ripping through his body that he came with a roar and a string of expletives.
 -
August wasn’t sure if he had ever cum that hard before, but the way your body gripped him so tight he was in no doubt that your pussy was the best he’d ever had - and he’d had a lot - and he knew without a doubt that he was not going to let anyone else ever come near it again.
As he slowed his thrusts and let you work through the aftershocks of your intense orgasm, he mentally checked off all the things he’d been checking up on; from the details of your financials, your family and education, your social media. He had seen all of them. He had your phone tapped and knew that he was going to be installing spy cameras in your apartment… that was until you agreed to be his.
Looking down at your ass he pulled his thumb out of your now loosened asshole, making sure to catch the way it winked as he recorded on his phone, having pulled that out of his pocket soon after he’d started and had recorded himself defiling your body. Giving your ass a smack he relished how the camera picked up the jiggle as the force rippled through you, before grasping a large handful of ass as he pulled out and watched his cum pool at your entrance, before pushing it back in with two thick fingers. Tugging your underwear up your legs from where they had settled around your knees, he made sure the flimsy red mesh covered your hole, quickly getting soaked with his seed as he pushed the fabric against the mess to fully coat it.
Finally he shut his phone off and reached towards the headboard, giving it a tug and feeling it lift, watching as you silently pulled your hand free before collapsing on the bed. He carefully unbuckled your wristwatch before rubbing at the sore skin, easing away the chafed skin. He set your hand down carefully and quickly left the room, returning a moment later with a glass of water and holding it to your lips as he helped you sit up.
 Setting the empty glass on the side, he rubbed your back before attempting to fix your torn collar, finally giving up. He swiped a thumb across your cheek, wiping away the mascara tear stains;
“Next week you’ll need to be in your underwear and heels. Make sure the plug is well lubricated. I’ll have everything delivered to your address”
You went to object, to question how he would even know, but then realised… CIA… of course he knew. You pushed yourself to the edge of the bed, finding your shoes and slipping your feet in, standing on wobbly legs as he spoke again.
“Do as I ask and I’ll let you stay the night so I can fuck your other two holes as well”
 Turning you nodded;
 “Yes Mr Walker”
“Oh, you can call me Sir now” he turned to leave the room before waving his finger at the pile of fresh linen still folded at the end of the bed; “Remember to finish up before you leave”
He left the room without another word. You went to object, but just as you did you felt the phone in your pocket vibrate. Quickly checking it your eyebrows practically shot off the top of your head, seeing the tip transfer come through for $2000. Biting your lip, your thumb hovered over the accept/decline buttons, the moral dilemma tearing your mind in two.
 -
In the hallway August watched his phone. He could see that you’d received the notification of the tip. When he saw your action on the app he smiled and slid the phone back into his pocket, already planning your next visit.

Truth or Dare?
Raphael x Reader

Summary: When Mikey needs another actor for his film project, Raph gets roped into it. He didn’t, however, expect for his costar to be so cool.
Note: There are not NEARLY enough college au fics for the bayverse boys, so have this as my first contribution. <3

“Raph, PLEEEEEAAAASE!!!” Mikey folded his hands together, pleading. “We need actors for our project and our group members can’t be in it.”
Mikey, as part of his endeavor to explore every creative program at the university the turtles were currently attending, was taking a filmmaking class. And, as a part of that class, he and his fellow classmates were required to make short projects in order to learn the basics of filmmaking, from writing to directing to using the equipment to editing. As an added bonus because his professor was so especially cruel, none of the people in his group could appear in his project, and while they had managed to recruit some of their classmates to fill in the smaller roles, one of the main roles was still unclaimed.
Raph scoffed. “Mikey, you know I can’t act for shit.”
“You don’t have to actually be good at it!” He pleaded. “You should see some of the other projects. No one in the program is good at acting.”
Raph was quiet for a second, his large arms crossed in front of him, thinking. “How long is it gonna take?”
“Few hours.” Mikey shrugged. He raised an eyebrow. “And your costar is really, really hot.”
Raph sighed, disgruntled. “When?”
“YES! DUDE THANK YOU SO MUCH! YOU WON’T REGRET IT!” Mikey ran and returned with a script and a schedule, shoving it into his older brother’s hands. “We film tomorrow!”
Raph’s eyes widened. “TOMORROW?!”
***
Raph went with Mikey to where the rest of his group was meeting to film their project. He hadn’t really had time to look at the script and Mikey assured him that they’d be filming in small enough chunks that he wouldn’t need to have very much memorized at a time. He also didn’t really know what kind of movie it was and he didn’t care; he just couldn’t wait until it was over.
A few minutes after they arrived, so did his costar. And god, he couldn’t stop staring. Mikey was right. God, why was Mikey always right?
“I am so sorry I’m late. The bus almost hit a pedestrian and it was a whole thing.” You apologized.
“Don’t worry about it!” Mikey waved off your concern. “This is my brother, Raph.”
“Nice to meet you, Raph. I’m (Y/N).” You introduced, a warm smile on your face.
Raph didn’t miss the way your eyes lingered on him, but instead of the looks disdain he usually got, instead it seemed to be curiosity. Awe, even? Weird, he decided, but not unwelcome.
It was a long, awkward moment before he realized he’d better respond. “Oh, uh, nice to meet you too.”
“Um, you guys can get to know each other a little better. We’ve gotta get the equipment set up.” Mikey said, leaving the two of you on your own.
The filming location was a place you were very familiar with: the library. Particularly, in front of the cozy little coffee shop in the library.
“I didn’t really, uh, look at the script, but I’m guessing they needed a monster for a horror movie or something…” Raph flipped through the pages, skimming.
“It’s a rom com.” You corrected quietly. “I’m the main character. You’re the love interest.”
If Raph could physically blush, he was sure his cheeks would rival the color of his mask. “…Oh.”
“Is that alright?” You asked.
“Oh! Yeah, yeah it’s fine, I just…” He chuckled to himself. “I ain’t ever acted in anything before, let alone anything romantic.”
“It’s not too much, I don’t think.” You reassured him. “I’m pretty sure the most they’ll have us do is awkwardly brush hands. It’s a coffee shop meet-cute.”
“Gotcha.” And while he was relieved, he was also a little…disappointed? Huh. Weird. “So, uh, what’s yer major?”
“I’m a film major. I’m in Mikey’s class and they needed actors, so I’m paying it forward in case I need someone in my project. What’s yours?”
“I’m undecided. Just, uh, taking some time to figure things out, you know. I never really had any…school experience before this.”
“That’s a lot to adjust to.”
“Yeah, it is. I’m getting used to it, though.”
“That’s good! If you need any help with anything, let me know. I’ve picked up a bunch of good tips and tricks.”
He chuckled. “I will, thanks.”
“Do you have snapchat?”
“Yeah, I do.”
“One second.” You fished your phone out of your bag and unlocked it, opening the app to your snapcode, which he scanned and added you. “There you go.”
“Thanks.”
“Of course.”
Raph took some more time reading over the script to get the gist of the scene and you were right. Indeed, it was a rom com. Not his preferred genre, by any means, but maybe he’d warm up to it a bit over the course of the day.
“Hey (Y/N)?” Mikey called from over where they had the camera set up on the tripod. “Do you know how to white-balance this thing? Everything is orange for some reason. Which is a great color, but I’m sure Smith will dock us points for it.”
“Oh, I’ve got you.” You nodded. You looked up at Raph, your purse in hand. “Will you hold this for a second?”
“Uh, yeah. Sure.” He nodded, holding out a giant three-fingered hand to take the bag from you. He watched you walk over to where the rest of the group was standing, crowded around the camera. You worked your magic, shuffling through the menu and helping adjust the camera correctly. Raph couldn’t stop staring. You looked so focused. So passionate. He could tell you really liked film and everything it entailed and he wished he could just find something he cared about as much as you cared about your major.
“Awesome.” He heard Mikey say, his eyes fixed on the camera’s screen. “Thanks!”
“Of course!” You walked back over to where Raph was and he handed you your bag back. “Thank you.”
“Yeah, no problem.” He opened his mouth to say something else, but Mikey walked over to the two of you.
“You guys ready? I think we’re good to start now.”
“All set.” You confirmed, giving him a thumbs-up, and Raph nodded.
***
Raph might have to reconsider his stance on this acting thing. Did he think he was all that good at it? No. But so long as he had you as a costar, he’d act willingly in any project Mikey (or you) needed him for. And at the end of the shoot, he ended up having a really good time. So much so that when you guys were all done, he was…sad. Like, really sad about it.
You parted ways. You weren’t in any of his classes, so Raph wasn’t really sure if he’d see you around that much. And he didn’t see you around…until a few weeks later.
He was at the library studying with his brothers at their favorite table when suddenly, his phone buzzed, a message from snapchat coming in. He looked at the notification, doing a double-take when he read your name there. And when he reached to answer it, he moved too fast and knocked his shell-shaped cell phone off of the table.
Shit.
He bent down to pick it up and when he opened the snapchat, he was surprised to see…the back of his shell? It was captioned: “I spy with my little eye…Something red and green 😉”
Immediately, he whipped around, and sure enough, nestled in a table by the windows was you, looking at him over the top of your laptop screen. You giggled when he spotted you, waving.
Raph nudged Mikey, who was sitting across from him and Mikey traced Raph’s eyeline to where you were, his face immediately lighting up.
“Oh! Hey (Y/N)!” Mikey waved. “You wanna sit with us?”
“Is that alright?”
“Hell yeah!” Mikey motioned you over. “The more the merrier! We can pull up a chair over here on the end.”
So, you gathered your stuff while the guys rearranged some things, putting you on the end of the table, right between Mikey and Raph. When you got over there, you noticed they were sitting with the other two giant mutated turtles on campus, who you had heard of, but hadn’t met yet.
“(Y/N), these are our brothers. Leo’s over there in the blue, our fearless leader. And this is Donatello, the one we go to for homework help.”
“Not tonight you aren’t. This paper is due at midnight and it is…” Donnie glanced down at the clock on his laptop and as soon as he did, he started typing impossibly faster. “Eleven thirty-seven. Do not look at me or breathe in my direction.”
“Noted.” Mikey nodded, a trace of fear in his eyes.
“Nice to meet you, (Y/N). You’re in one of Mikey’s classes, right?”
“Yep! I’m in his film class.” You smiled, taking a sip of your iced coffee. “I got the pleasure of costarring with this one.” You nudged Raph lightly, causing him to smile the most genuine smile Mikey had ever seen on his older brother’s face.
Huh. Mikey took note, something devious stirring in the back of his mind. Interesting…
“What did you get on that, by the way?” You asked.
“We got an A! Well, Minus. But you know how Smith is.”
“Dude that’s awesome!” You bumped your fist against his. “Good job. I’m pretty sure my group got a B, but we’re not mad about it. C’s get degrees, as they say.”
“Cheers to that.” Leo chuckled.
“What are you working on today, Raph?” You asked, tilting your head in a way that sent his heart racing in a way he could not explain.
“I have a paper for my Writing 150 class.”
“Oof that sucks. Who do you have?”
“Trainor.”
“Ouch. She hated me.” You grimaced, shaking your head. “She found out I was bi and it was all over for me.”
“Did you report her? I’m pretty sure you can report her for that sort of thing.” Raph asked, trying not to get heated over it. He was pretty sure she didn’t like him very much either, but it was probably due to the fact that he was a giant green turtle. “That’s bullshit.”
“I’m in the process of that right now.” You nodded. “She’s a bitch. I don’t know if they’ll actually do anything about it though.”
“Keep me posted. I might file something too if she doesn’t stop glaring at me during class.” Raph grumbled. “It’s annoying.”
“That would be annoying. Her beady little eyes glaring at you for two agonizing hours of ‘This is how to correctly use a comma’.”
He chuckled. “Yeah. It is.”
You glanced at your phone, which buzzed with a text from one of your roommates. “Oh! Uh, do you guys have any plans this weekend?”
“Nope. Why?” Mikey asked, curiosity seeping into his voice.
“My roommate is throwing a party, if you guys wanna come. It’ll be pretty chill. Drinks, pizza, some music.”
“Oh hell yes.” Mikey nodded. He looked at Leo. “Leo, can we?”
“I don’t see why not.” Leo shrugged. “Sounds like a good time.”
“Is there a dress code?” Mikey asked. Now that he was finally allowed to socialize, he didn’t want to fuck it up.
“Nope. Just casual. Come as you are.”
“Do you need us to bring anything?”
“If you guys have a drink of choice, bring that, I guess, but otherwise, my roommate’s boyfriend works at a pizza place, so we get a pretty good discount and we have literally so much wine.”
“That’s amazing.” Mikey nodded, making a mental note to look into jobs at a pizza place later.
“We’ll bring a veggie tray.” Donnie said, his fingers flying across the keyboard of his laptop until finally, he stopped. “I finished, by the way.”
“Good job, dude!” Mikey gave him a thumbs up. “You wanna write mine next?”
“Ha.” Donnie stared at him. “Funny.”
“What’s your paper on, Raph? Maybe I can help.”
Raph turned his laptop towards you. “We have to write it about like growing up. You can, uh, read it if you want. I don’t mind. I’m kinda stuck right now anyway.”
“Okay.” You agreed, switching his laptop for yours. You winked. “Trade ya.”
“What are you writing about?” He asked, scrolling to the top of your document.
“Women in Film.” You shot finger guns at him. “I’m about to make some Film Bois REALLLL mad.”
“Roast ‘em, (Y/N).” Mikey laughed, knowing all too well exactly which film boys you were talking about. He was not a fan.
“That’s the plan.” You chuckled and then started reading over Raph’s paper. You had known before meeting them that they hadn’t exactly had the best childhood, but…wow was it eye-opening reading the experience from his eyes. “Holy shit.”
“That bad?” He joked, trying to read your expression.
“No, it’s…Raph, this is really good, but wow. You guys went through a lot, huh?”
“Yeah…” He shrugged. “It wasn’t all bad, but it sure wasn’t normal by any means.”
“Mmm…” You nodded, looking up at him. “I mean, normal is kinda overrated.”
He chuckled. “I’m glad ya think so. Not many people do.”
You shrugged, smiling softly. “Well, it’s a good thing I’m not like many people.”
***
“(Y/N), this place is as clean as it’s gonna get. It’s a party. It’ll be messed up in,” your roommate, Haley, glanced down at her watch, “like twenty minutes.”
“I know, I just…I’m nervous. These guys are basically superheroes. I want to make a good impression.”
“Fair point.”
You swept the kitchen floor and got out the cutest paper plates you had in the cupboard as well as some solo cups and plastic wine glasses. If you could avoid broken glass today, that was probably the move.
The doorbell buzzed and your heart raced, but it was just your other roommate’s boyfriend with the pizza.
“Is Darcy here?” He asked.
“She’s upstairs getting ready, you explained, helping him get the pizza and breadsticks and everything set up on the counter. He’d also brought a few two-liters of Pepsi, which was good. You put it next to the giant jug of fruit punch you’d bought at the grocery store. It was important to make sure your non-drinking friends had something to drink, too.
A few minutes after, guests started arriving. Darcy came downstairs and started up her iconic party playlist. Your neighbors popped in. It was easier to invite them and let them have a good time with you than have them call security on you guys for throwing a party, even if it was the weekend and it was only nine.
You turned off the lamps in the living room and instead set your strip lights to party mode, causing them to cycle through a bunch of colors in time with the music. It was then that the doorbell rang again and you rushed to the mirror to check yourself once more. You adjusted your hair, straightened out your top, and checked your teeth for food. Nope, you were good.
So, with the rest of the hosts distracted, you opened the door. On the other side of it were four tall, green gentlemen, one of them carrying a veggie tray.
“Hey guys, come on in!”
You moved out of the way so they could step inside.
Mikey’s eyes widened, looking into the living room full of dancing college kids. “Woahhhhh this is awesome!”
“Glad you think so.” You laughed. “There’s food and drinks in here, the bathroom is in the hallway, and everyone else seems to be either in the living room or the back yard.”
“Where do you want this veggie tray?” Donnie asked.
“Thank you so much for bringing this, by the way! You can set it over by the pizza boxes. I can get a spoon for the dip.” You said, walking towards the silverware drawer and producing a spoon while Donnie popped the lid off of the plastic serving tray and opened up the dip. You handed him the spoon.
The guys were each sporting their signature color, but they were wearing clothes you hadn’t seen them in before. Usually, Raph liked to wear a large gray hoodie, but today, he was sporting a black t-shirt and an impossibly large red flannel with some jeans. It looked good on him. Like, really good.
Apparently, he was thinking the same thing, because as soon as you were free, he walked up to you and nudged you gently. “You look really good.”
Your cheeks flushed with warmth and you wished you could blame it on wine, but you hadn’t even had a sip yet. “Thanks. You clean up pretty nice yourself.”
Had you worn a red top on purpose? Yes, absolutely. Would you admit to it, though? No, definitely not.
But Mikey noticed. Oh, Mikey noticed everything. And he couldn’t help but think that you and his older brother would make quite the couple. Maybe there was something he could do to just…give it a little push.
***
The time came later, when the party was finally starting to wind down. Some people had left. Your neighbors had gone home, and you’d switched the strip lights to a light, warm color. You’d also switched the upbeat party playlist for something chill to play in the background. The remaining partygoers were all settled in a circle in the living room, eating whatever pizza was left, sipping on box wine, and playing a game of truth or dare.
“Haley, truth or dare?” Darcy challenged.
“Truth.”
“Okay…Fuck, Marry, Kill: Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and…..Chris Pine.”
“DAMN.” She cursed. “You can’t do that to me. Shit. Uh…Fuck Chris…Hemsworth. Marry Chris…Pine? And—”
“Don’t you do it!” You warned.
“Kill Chris Evans.”
“Noooooooooo!” You whined, taking a sip of your drink. The rest of the group laughed. “Poor Captain America.”
“Rest in pieces, Cap.” She agreed, shaking her head. “Okay…Mikey, truth or dare.”
“Dare.” Mikey answered quickly. He always picked dare, so in the fifth round of the game, it wasn’t much of a surprise.
“I dare you…to take a shot of straight lemon juice.”
“Easy peasy.” Mikey scoffed, pouring himself a shot and downing it.
You watched as his face contorted at the sour, sour taste. You couldn’t help but giggle a little at that.
“Good job, Mikey.” Donnie laughed, dipping a piece of broccoli in dip before popping it into his mouth.
“Taking it like a champ.” Leo added, nodding.
“Alright, my turn?” Mikey asked, looking around the circle for his victim, pretending he hadn’t been planning this since round one. “(Y/N). Truth or dare?”
You thought about it for a second. How easy it would be to just choose truth again, but for some reason, you were feeling a little brave, so instead, you picked, “Dare.”
“Oooooooh,” the circle said, all of them a little surprised by that choice.
“Okay. Alright.” Mikey rubbed his hands together mischievously. All according to plan. “I dare you to kiss the hottest person in the room.”
“OOOOOOOHHHH!” The circle all stared at you and you thought for a second, a smirk settling on your features.
“Oh that’s easy.” You got up and crossed the circle until you were standing in front of Raph. Even sitting down, he was almost your height. “Think I could get a kiss?”
Raph stared up at you, shocked, waiting for you to say Sike! HAHA! Did you actually think I thought you were hot?! Loser!
But you never did, instead looking down at him with sincerity, patience. Were you a little…nervous, even?
“Why me?” He whispered, his eyes fixed on you. There were plenty of good-looking human guys still there, and yet you were certain. Unwavering. Then, louder, he asked, his heart absolutely fighting to get out of his chest, “Are you sure?”
“Positive.” You nodded, starting to lean closer. Once you were most of the way in, you let him meet you in the middle, your soft human lips meeting his, which were, you had to admit, way softer than you thought they would be.
Raphael kissed you like you were made of glass, like if he moved too fast, you would shatter. It was his first kiss, after all, and he didn’t want to fuck it up.
When it finally ended, you walked back to your seat in the circle, your cheeks rosy, heart racing. Haley gave you a nudge and you giggled, your stomach filled with butterflies. The rest of the game went along with little fanfare, and once everyone was tired enough, the apartment cleared out even more, leaving just your roommates, Darcy’s boyfriend, and the turtles, who insisted on helping clean everything up. Well, it had been Leo’s idea, but the rest had agreed to stick around to help.
You volunteered to go out into the backyard to pick up all of the stray solo cups and White Claw cans. You hated litter. You worked out there alone for a bit. As you bent down to pick up the last can you heard the signature screech of the sliding door opening.
Raph squeezed through the narrow doorway, cursing his shell for making him so damn wide.
“Hey,” you said softly, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear. Your voice was almost swallowed up by the sounds of the choir of crickets outside.
“Hey.” He closed the sliding door. “Can we talk?”
“Yeah, of course.” You nodded, tying off the trash bag you were using to collect garbage. “How was your first college party?”
“It was great. Really, really great.” He said, taking slow steps through the grass towards you. “Um…I…did you mean what you said? Earlier.”
“What do you mean?”
“When you…was I really…” he laughed at the absurdity of it. “You think I’m hot?”
“I do.” You nodded. “Of course I do.”
“I’m sorry if I find that a little hard to believe.” He shook his head, stopping right in front of you. When he was standing in front of you like this, he was remined of just how big he was compared to you, just how much he towered over you. Just how different you were. “I’m just used to the opposite reaction.”
“Believe it.” You reached forward and took his hand in yours, gripping one of his giant green fingers.
“I’m trying to.” He chuckled and fiddled with your little hand, nervous. “You know, uh…that was my first kiss in there. I wasn’t too awful, was I?”
“I didn’t mean to steal your first one.” You laughed softly. “Sorry. But to answer your question, I thought it was perfect.”
“That’s a relief.” He was quiet for a moment, thinking. “Uh…If it’s alright with ya…I’d like to give you my second kiss, too.”
Instead of answering, you took another step closer, looking up, up, up into his piercing green eyes. “You’re gonna have to come down here; I can’t reach.”
He laughed. “Right.” Raph craned his neck down, one of his large hands tilting your face up towards his so he could meet you in the middle for another perfect kiss.
***
“What are you doing?” Leo asked Mikey, who was peering through the blinds into the back yard of the apartment.
Mikey only grinned proudly, nodding to himself. “Works every time…”
