I woke up a million times last night in my sleep. Not fun. ⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ And this morning, I noticed a little self sabotage pattern alive...⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ The voice goes something like this-⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ “Babe, you had such a hard night... just do nothing today. Don’t meditate. Don’t move your body. Don’t write.”⁣ ⁣ 𝘾𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙡. 𝙏𝙝𝙚. 𝘿𝙖𝙮.⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ The reason this is a self sabotage pattern is because it’s me basically telling myself- “Because you experienced discomfort... you might as well continue to experience it for the rest of the day.”⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ My brain likes to trick me to think that skipping “all the things” I know bring bliss to my existence would somehow make me feel better after a hard night (or day)!⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ Nah. I caught that b$@tch in my head.⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ And, I told her, “I hear you baby. I know you had a hard night. But continuing in that stream will NOT make you feel better.”⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ And I took her to the mat.⁣ ⁣ With music.⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ With #meditation and #devotion.⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ And my #journal.⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ And we got to work.⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ What’s pleasurable to me right now?⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ Serving myself and others.⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ Doing my work.⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ Allowing the message to come through.⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ Laying in the ideas that come from above.⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ #Prayer.⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ So why would I do anything else?⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ Self. Sabotage.⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ Being alive and being on #purpose and taking care of yourself should feel good.⁣ ⁣ Maybe not all the time, but ⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ If it’s in #alignment and it’s coming from your #heart, it’s what lights you up.⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ That doesn’t mean you don’t have to “work” for it.⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ But it’s what brings the deepest #soul pleasure.⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ So, follow that.⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ And ask yourself continuously WHY you CHOOSE any other reality.... . . . #dance #takeittothemat #knowtribe #feelthefeelings #emotions #openforlove (at Pass-a-Grille Beach) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEZtFXzpZqp/?igshid=17vlat5mfzp5m

When you act upon something you feel you are you’re called to do by being in vibrational harmony with it and by being willing to share it with as many people as possible you feel inspired. Three weeks ago today I all of a sudden did something that I was just totally inspired to do was to follow @Izzy_bradshawfitness and be coached and start this journey with Beachbody. I’m so glad and proud of myself for following a feeling! I even asked my so awesome Mom to borrow the money so that I could start. I was so desperate for something! Repression or expression?
When I do yoga because all I want to do is implode or throw myself into a blank plane of existence, is yoga my form of repressing my emotions or expressing and working through them? I’ve always thought it the latter; however, as I go to unroll my mat I am finding this question in my mind, “What is this activity truly helping me do?”

this months theme of yoga posts/pictures/practices will be all about taking my problems to the mat. Often times I find myself doing yoga just to feel like I was active for the day instead of really tapping into my practices' true potential. It truly bums me out sometimes. But that's the best part about yoga! If you fall out of a pose, you get back up and you get back into it. If you fall out of your practice, you get up and you get back into it. There should be no room in your practice for doubt, guilt, or regret. Just acceptance, peace and most importantly- LOVE!

Take it to the Mat
My mat is my best friend. My healer. My counselor. My masseuse. Anything I wish to accomplish, I can do from my mat. It is a place of strength and empowerment. It's a spoonful of sugar when life won't go down. It is the embodiment of my intentions, in the healthiest aspect. It is a reminder that my body is worth my efforts and my love.

Triggers
“Triggers” is defined as a verb that causes action; however, my triggers are always nouns. My triggers are the things I see around and involved with me... my triceps growing and becoming more defined, my shoulders and chest becoming more square as my posture improve, my thighs gaining inches in circumference, etc... The list goes forever. I have always begun my journeys with yoga, because it feels good and, equally, because I do not want to grow larger. I do not wish for a triangle shaped neck and biceps that look like small pebbles, but those things come along with my intentions. If I aim for strength and progress, I cannot let myself be convinced that the visible signs of those intentions coming to life are unsatisfactory. The visible signs of my work towards my intentions are welcomed: muscles mean strength, pounds mean force, squared means stable. 
I am working to build strength and achieve positive progress. 
I am succeeding.

Since I launched my “Seek JOY” campaign last month, I’ve been amazed at how many people have admitted to me the judgment they feel towards those that remain positive and resourceful during this quarantine time. . . What was fascinating is how many also admitted they don’t want to feel judgment AND actually really would prefer to choose celebration and admiration. It was as if their cells didn’t know how to celebrate or admire these traits in others. . . Five years ago, I truly believed I couldn't dance... . I remember looking around at other women dancing freely with a sense of envy and also for guidance on how to move my body. Instead of going within, to reveal and express my authentic movements, I tried to mimic their's. Though there was technically no wrong way to move, I remember feeling so self conscious, though I wouldn't have admitted it at the time. . The story that I had bought into was: since I wasn't able to take dance lessons as a girl and I didn't come from a culture that danced, it just was not programmed into my body and it was never going to feel natural. . Oh, how wrong I was! . Fast forward to now and many, many hours of inner-work later, and dance has become one of my primary forms of expression, healing, and ritual. . I dance nearly every day, as part of my personal practice. Just a few songs is all one really needs. Sometimes playfully, with a fast beating heart and bubbling over laughter. Sometimes, with tears streaming down my cheeks and primal roars bursting from my belly. And sometimes, so sensually and slowly, I become the embodiment of orgasmic bliss. . This unfolding within myself is what led me to start sharing sacred feminine and masculine polarity. Within this container, there are no right or wrong movements...no good or bad dancing...only deep, authentic expression. Creating a space for wholly embodied movement in this way has become one of my greatest joys!
