#tbh started journaling lately and it is not huge

well a little bit late posting my. journal entry i guess lol but day 6/6 down! 🥳

really overall the last trip just felt like a continuation and affirmation of the previous five. the biggest takeaway was finally fully understanding the dam: i eventually heard “you are your own dam” and realized that it’s a representation of the way i hold my “self” back. it’s a survival mechanism to start off, keeping yourself hidden when it’s not safe to do otherwise, but now i feel like im in a safe enough place to start changing and dismantling that. i think that’s kind of my biggest revelation and “action item” moving forward.

i also was thinking about how my time in undergrad is coming to a close (end of january) and i need to start ritualistically saying goodbye to my space and my experience. change and endings are really hard for me, and this is such a huge one. i know it’s going to be incredibly bittersweet, despite how fucking hard the last 4.5 years have been since i started college. and tbh also the 18 years before that but one era at a time.

like i said i think im gonna write another whole wrap up post, but real quick: this was an insanely positive experience for me. i didn’t dare to hope for this big of a change - i didn’t even know how to conceptualize it. i think the biggest thing to take with me, even as more time passes and i see how things unfold, is that now i know that 1) this therapy helped me and can help again and 2) i know what this feels like now. for the first time im not completely dreading the future, hating and barely tolerating the present, and being crushed by the past. it feels. so good. fucking finally. god.

✨ there have been so really really good positive things in life lately, as well as some really really dark and difficult things happening lately too.

✨ we will start with the good! I officially got hired at my job as a full time, permanent employee!!! I was a temp to hire since November, and last week I was officially offered the position! The company I work for is a start up that has been around for 6 years now, and will be going public by 2025 at the latest. The goal is mid 2024 but by 2025! Which is very exciting! I’m one of ~150 employees, the benefits offered are great, a 401k, I get unlimited PTO, and stocks in the company! And my starting salary is pretty generous for my first job out of college. Bay Area is insanely expensive so it’s not the most amazing pay considering that, but it is higher than a loooot of jobs base pay here regardless. (Peep my daily mornings at work that consist of almond milk/matcha/banana/spinach smoothies, and lots of coffee!)

✨ finished my first piece from my art class! My little lemons using watercolor are officially done!! I love it tbh!

✨ it’s been rainy and gloomy for a little while now, so this morning I took myself to a little local coffee shop, and I challenged myself to get a higher cal drink. So I got an oat milk mocha and it was so so tasty (and cute!) While there I did some reading and people watched (sounds a little weird but honestly I love seeing others interacting with each other and you see so many sweet moments). And then after that I went to paper source and got myself a new journal (just finished my last one!) and I got two new Jellycat friends! I got my little journal the giraffe pal, and my drawing donkey pal! I have stuffed animals that I have in my lap/hold while doing various things. It’s a newer thing but honestly it’s been a huge stimulation helper to have them as fidget/comfort items. So the donkey I have when I draw, and the giraffe I have on me while journaling. (I have a finley bear jellycat I have while playing animal crossings, a Yamper plush for playing/watching Pokémon, a weighted Pluto when watching any Disney movies, Corti my cat jellycat when I take medication each day, and then my oldest stuffed animal Spotty I sleep with. Having them for specific tasks honestly has been really really comforting and nice!)

✨ food has been really really hard. Body image has been really really hard. On the days I manage to eat a bit more than normal I can’t keep the exercise down. And on the days I cap the exercise, I can’t eat more than my safe amount. And it’s made life incredibly difficult. A coworker of mine has noticed the food stuff and while it’s a bit helpful to confide to someone about some of it, it also makes it a bit harder to be getting somewhat monitored about it now. But, I have made the decision with the support of that friend, and my therapist, to enter a treatment program. I still have to ensure my insurance will check out, but if it does, there is an outpatient program I can partake in in the evenings 5 days a week that will work with my work schedule. So we will see how that all turns out.

✨ anyway, I came home after my little morning outing, did two 45 minute peloton classes, then did laundry and watched Mean Girls! And now I’m in bed drinking peppermint tea and watching a documentary on Netflix.

Soooo…. uhm… remember how I was like: "Oh nooooo… I don't know if I will make it much farther than the daily minimum… weeeep…"

I uhm… kinda overshot it.. a bit.

Wrote ~5200 in total yesterday, finishing two chapters, still working on Chapter VI, which will be done soon aswell.. sooo yeah..

Why is it on my playlist? Well… I suppose the title already makes it kinda obvious… buuut as I like to profusely explain things… let me tell you. ITS A) AMAZING.. B) BADASS C) exaCtly what I imagine playing in Clubs all over the fantasy world I created. I am a huuuge fan of the Cyberpunk Genre… something I never quite realised until listening to Extra Terra's music. Normally I am not huge on the umbrella term of EDM… sure I dance to it sometime and my favourite cheer-up music is absolutely (Russian) Hard Bass, thanks to my lil' brother, who showed me DJ Blyatman. Buuut.. most of the rest isn't my kind of tea.. except for this dark, rhythmic Cyperpunky music.. it's like Luminary, which blows up on Bookstagram at the moment.. it gets me to dream about a futuristic world, with huge sky scrapers, neon lights and crushing hypercapitalism.. Soo… I would give Extra Terra a lot of credit, when it comes to inspiring me~

Buuut enough of the chit chat… let's get to writing. I actually already did write half a paragraph before remembering, I hadn't faced my daily challenge.. but that's a good thing.. means the hyperfocus has finally come and the book is going to get finish…

Although… I will have to do some cleaning up and editing the stuff my alphareaders flagged, which should come first…. eat the frog and all..

Sooooo its 17:01, first real break for the day after starting this morning. Another chapter done, second one is at the halfway point. I introduced a new character and had her have quite the dialogue with my protagonist… Writing is sooo fun right now… Buuut… I will treat myself, with a hot bath… bc I earned it and need it.. tbh.

Brutes…, the mage thought with an exasperated huf, before reaching for the veins of golden energy, thrumming just at the tips of her fingers. Air and water, best for controlling a fight. In the end she didn't want to kill a guard just doing her job. Nodding to Barn, he tightened his enormous fists on the club and barraged forward, embodying the inevitability and majesty of an Isenbergen landslide. The sharpened lance, adorned with the House Song dragon, its maw opened around the sharp blade, snapped foreward so fast, only Fjinnas affinity for messing with time, made her even realise what was going to happen. Not wanting to see her friend gutted in the high street, having to deal with some very prickly questions and Legion pursuit, the aspiring career criminal, made a snap decision to completely and utterly change the plan. Her fingers moved forward just as fast and a wall of ice rose in front of the lancers charge. By no means strong enough to stop, but sufficient to slow. Ice burst with it glacial ringing, as the guard battered through it, giving Barn the time he needed to adjust his stance from offense to defence. Still sparks flew as lance met the iron studs of his club and Fjinna surged forward. The gust, rustled through her robes as it carried her over the guard and hurled down a trio of ice spikes, hoping to sow some confusion and create more obstacles for the soldier to maneuver around. A miscalculation, she sensed, before feet touched the ground. Of her opponent mostly. That bitch fought mages before. A realization scraped along the edges of her mind as she drew the rapier from the cross belt, tyring to get in close from behind. But it was as if the wind, usually a kind and loving friend, had found someone better. At a rapid pace, the woman swirled and twirled, almost causally warding of the smaller attackers fast stabs and the giants laboured swings.

happy bergday! i was looking for my field guide, cause i saw the coolest praying mantis today, and i found this old journal sitting at the bottom of my bag! dr. madhumakhee mentioned something about how every good adventurer should keep a journal, and how she loved to look back at her adventures with her friends from back when she was “still a spry young thing,” so i think i want to give it a shot too! so here i am! hi future vaayu i hope you’re doing well!

for my future self: hi my name is vaayu and i am almost twenty years old. although you probably knew that lol. cause you’re me. lol. i am a cleric!! of vaashak!! (how cool is that??) and im currently somewhere near dalbore i think? we just left dalbore and are on the yeoman road. i joined a caravan back near calsbury and we’re headed to skipsieve!

all this stuff is in my field guide, but dr. madhumakhee told me that i shouldn’t be afraid to take too many notes, so i’ll note it here too! we’re currently in a deciduous oak forest. its currently late summer! the forest is really thick and absolutely teeming with life! yesterday, when we’d stopped for the night, jin and i had set up our tents near this big old oak tree and there was a red oak borer right there!! and i know its bad for the tree and all that jazz but the chance to get to see a red oak borer in its natural habitat just going about and living its life was priceless

there’s something weird up with this forest though. i can’t quite put my finger on it. its just...  a strange feeling. and its not a good one

i did also meet some new people though!! i think i made some new friends!! last night, this one halfling named triennan was like “oh its kind of cold today so lets start a little campfire!” and then jin was like “here are some marshmallows to roast over the fire!” and then it took us like twenty minutes to actually light the fire, but i got to meet a lot of people. there’s jin, of course, who i’ve kind of been hanging out with already! she’s also a gnome and she’s a wizard (at first she kind of reminded me of agni, y’know my older sister, but don’t worry she’s suuuper nice and sweet)! then there’s triennan, who is a halfling, like i mentioned before, and a rogue! he’s the one who started the fire and stuff. he’s a little aloof and distant, but we are complete strangers so i’m really not surprised. he told us that he’s from skipsieve and that he left it to start a new life that he found and now he’s coming back! so i guess he’s like a fully realized person now? then there’s lightwalker, who is a druid from olton. she’s reaaaaaly tall. like really really really tall. even taller than caerwyn, who i’ll get to in a second. she has this really cute fire spirit friend with her who i think is in the shape of a marmot??? their name is taika and they’re so cool (but like not really cause they’re made of fire lol). caerwyn is also oltonese!! she’s some sort of a fighter i think? she has millitary experience of some sort!! she has this huge sword that’s even bigger than me and is very protective of it. she’s a part of the security for the caravan! the last person in our little circle was guik. he’s a human bard from mardoon in hetesia, and he’s a follower of this god named pelor!! he’s very chill, but tbh he seems lowkey a little sad?

Jack Jeanne Playthrough Part 3 (April 5)

1 month later. April 5th in the VN. Kisa is at Univeil and excited she passed the entrance exam. She runs into her childhood friend Yonaga who's also been accepted. He's shocked that Kisa is attending too, but before she can explain Suzu joins them, introduces one each other.

Quartz's theme is "transparency" where many inexperienced performers who haven't specialized yet tend to go.

Onyx = Jacks whose forte is in dance.

Rhodonite = Jeannes who specialize in song.

Amber is where talented and unique students gather.

Suzu theorizes Kisa would be in Rhodonite because of her appearance, himself in Onyx because his physical abilities make him more suitable for dancing than singing or acting. Yonaga would like to be in Quartz.

Yonaga: Quartz...would be nice.

Suzu: I get what you mean!

Yonaga: Huh?

Suzu: Tbh I enrolled in Univeil cause I really admire Tachibana Tsuki, the legendary Jackace of Quartz!

Kisa: ...!

Suzu: That's why I wanna be in the same class as Tachibana Tsuki...come to think of it, your last names are the same.

Kisa: (If people find out I'm related to Tsuki-nii, it might make it even easier for them to discover my identity...! But it might be better than lying poorly...)

Kisa: It's true. It's the same (nonchalantly)

Yonaga: ......

Suzu: Maybe you guys are distant relatives!

Kisa: *nervous laughter*

Yonaga cuts in and says they should go check which class they're in. Kisa thanks Yonaga for the save. Their year is the 78th class of Univeil. All 3 are in Quartz.

Kisa gets called to the headmaster's office.

Chuuza congratulates her and informs her about her admission. The only ones who know that Kisa is a girl is him, Quartz's homeroom teacher Enishi Rokurou, and now Yonaga, Kisa's childhood friend. Chuuza is surprised that someone who knew about Kisa enrolled in the school.

But if anyone else finds out that she's a girl, expulsion. But since a lot of students are feminine, she won't have to go out of her way to act and dress like a boy. He reminds her to build trust with the rest of the students, and aim to become a lead and aim for the top.

Kisa arrives to Quartz's homeroom late.

??: Yes, yes, come right in.

Kisa: (The teacher...? But he's in a student uniform.)

??: You were called in quite loudly during the school announcements. Did you run into any issues on the first day? Theft, robbery, manslaughter, extortion, coercion, or a bank robbery, perhaps...?

(Please watch the clip of this scene. Can you tell he and Furuta share the same VA? 😄)

Fumi: No one like that would be in our school, Kuro.

??: But wouldn't be great to have such a plucky 1st year around, Fuumin! All the world's a stage!

Fumi: And, if the cops came?

??: I concede! Law is what keeps society together.

Kai: ...you two are bothering the 1st years.

Kisa finds a seat by Suzu and Yonaga.

Neji Kokuto (3rd year, 76th class of Univeil) welcomes the 1st year students to Univeil and Quartz. Class leader-slash-scriptwriter-slash-director-slash...all kinds of other things! He provides an info-dump about Univeil for us.

5 performances in total: Rookie, Summer, Fall, Winter, and Univeil Exhibitions. The Rookie Exhibition is where the 1st years take the lead roles, which is going to be held May 30th. Today is April 5th, so less than 2 months remain. Most viewers will watch over them warmly,  but others will be more strict, like journal reporters, critics and avid Univeil fans. Neji will write a script to allow even novices like them to shine on stage. Casting will be announced mid-April. Upper years are also participating and support the 1st years.

Neji: If you have any questions, all you need is to ask. I'm sure all our seniors here will be more than happy to help you.

??: What, no way.

Neji: With some exceptions of course! Mwahaha. Mikki's a 2nd year now, you can be a little nice to your juniors, hm?

??: ...

Kisa notes he looks cute like a doll. Shirota Mitsuki, noted for his singing. He catches Kisa staring at him, and she apologizes.

Neji asks if anyone has any questions. You're given 3 options: 1) How casting is determined, 2) Type of training to be done, 3) No questions.

Casting is based on Neji's subjective judgment. Everything from how they're doing in lessons, campus life, the way they walk, talk, physique, voice, facial expressions. Essentially based on his intuition, which he uses to find gemstones in the rough.

Training I'll explain later, there's gameplay related to it.

Neji finishes his spiel and passes it on to Quartz's homeroom teacher, Enishi. Pretty low energy. Lessons start tomorrow. Class is dismissed.

Suzu meets Kisa outside the Quartz dorms and asks if she's ready to introduce herself to the other students. He notes it's hard to find people since Univeil is so large. They chat for a bit, Suzu asks Kisa to call him by his first name, so Suzu-kun it is.

Inside Yonaga's dorm. He's finished unpacking, though he's still yet to put away his books (on theatre). He asks how Kisa got into Univeil, and she explains what happened. Yonaga says he'll help Kisa to make sure she stays at Univeil. He's glad that Kisa is here with him.

Yonaga: Kisa-chan, about Tsuki-kun...

Kisa: I can't get in touch with Tsuki-nii, but I'm sure he's doing fine wherever he is. 

Yonaga: I see. Yeah, I'm sure he is.

(Isn't that sketchy? Maybe he turned into that weasel with the moon on its belly lol)

Kisa begins her search for the Quartz students. At the Univeil courtyard, Kisa hears Mitsuki singing.

"Within this chest of mine I dance, the rhythm of possibilities"

Kisa: (I'd heard he was lauded for his singing, but he really has a beautiful voice...the lyrics paint the scene in my head.)

Mitsuki: ...could you not stare at me like that? It's uncomfortable.

Kisa: Oh, I'm sorry!

Mitsuki: Oh, you again. The 1st year who came in late.

Kisa: Yes. My name is Tachibana Kisa. It's a pleasure to meet you.

Mitsuki: Huh...you've got a face like a girl.

Kisa: Eh? Y-yes, I suppose so.

Mitsuki: A high-pitch voice. A delicate figure. And a Jeanne at that. At least be aware of your own features.

Kisa: I-I'm sorry.

He sighs and introduces himself. 2nd year, 77th class of Univeil. A Jeanne and a tresor (songstress/diva) of Quartz. VA is Kajiwara Gakuto (Asta). Kisa compliments him on his singing.

Mitsuki: So you were eavesdropping.

Kisa: I-I'm sorry.

Mitsuki: Well, not like I care either way. Later.

Kisa: He left...I guess he doesn't really like interacting with people. But his voice really was beautiful.

(If I had to describe Mitsuki's tone, it would be similar to Kenma, but a bit more antisocial lol)

Kisa finds Kai in the forest, seemingly concentrating on something. She decides to come back later, but Kai notices her.

Kai: ...? Quartz's 1st year?

Kisa: Yes! I'm Tachibana Kisa.

Kai: I see, you're...

Kisa: Yes!

(awkward silence between the two)

Kai: Mutsumi Kai, 76th class of Univeil. I'm a 3rd year.

Kisa: So I should call you Mutsumi-senpai!

Kai: Kai is fine. You can call me that around other people too.

Kisa: But...

Kai: ...

Kisa: ...(agrees)

Kai: ...

Kisa: T-then, I'll call you Kai-san!

Kai: Okay.

Kisa notes Kai is the Jackace of Quartz. And since Tsuki was also the Jackace, that means he must be talented too.

Kai: I'm a vessel meant to garnish the Aljeanne. Nothing more, nothing less.

Kisa is confused by his statement. Convo ends.

Kisa runs into Neji next in the hallways. He enters a room then promptly comes back out.

Neji: Welcome!

Kisa: Ah!

Neji: What're you doing in a place like this?

Kisa: I'm going around introducing myself to everyone in Quartz.

Neji invites her into his workroom where he writes his scripts and plans his staging. But he also performs on stage, any male or female role, from a shining prince/princess to old grannies/gramps.

He's currently working on the script for Quartz, but he won't reveal it just yet. Kisa asks if the other class leaders write the scripts like he does, but Neji is a special case, who screenwrites, directs and performs.

Neji: Once you get carried away, you can't see what's going on around you. What we do has no end to it. Acting, dancing, singing, they're fields that you can pursue for a lifetime. You could reach the stars, or merely end up as a master of none. No matter how much time,  it will never be enough. It's a terrifying world out there. That's why it's so engrossing. The stage is a colossal device. The Jacks and Jeannes make up the gears, and I am the craftsman who pieces them together. Let's create a fantastic stage together, Tachibana-kun!

Neji must continue writing, and wishes Kisa the best for the Rookie Exhibition. (Neji definitely talks the most out of the main cast lol. And fast too, talks a mile a minute and tone varies hugely)

Kisa finds Fumi standing languidly in the middle of the dance room, taking deep breaths before beginning to dance. A Japanese-style dance where his movements are gentle, beautiful and brilliant. He comments on Kisa staring intently at him, just like during the entrance exam.

Kisa is surprised that Fumi remembered, despite the number of applicants.

Fumi: I remember you and the red-haired guy well cause you two danced so terribly.

Kisa: Oh...

Fumi: I'm just kidding. Though the red-haired guy really did suck.

Kisa introduces herself, and Fumi pauses at hearing the name Tachibana. 3rd year Takashina Sarafumi, 76th class of Univeil, but he prefers being called Fumi, no senpai honorific attached. Kisa ends up calling him Fumi-san.

Fumi: Let's have fun, Kisa. (leaves)

Kisa: It's overwhelming seeing him up close. So that's the power of an Aljeanne.

Kisa goes to her room excited for her new life at Univeil and retires for the night for her 1st day of classes tomorrow.

okie nobody can deny that our main boy over here is a loud soul, however, he can also carry a damn good beat that compliments his band mates’ music really well. Tbh, he sucked at music to begin with and had trouble matching rhythms and listening to his band mates when they played, however he eventually became a really good rhythm maker.

Sasuke

-Guitar (lead)

He’d be assigned to the same band as Naruto, and that’s how they met. This boy is a damn good guitarist y’all, but has attitude problems™, and used to not be able to deal with Naruto’s haphazard beat making, thus perpetuating a rivalry between the two. He constantly feels overshadowed by his elder brother Itachi, a piano major.

Sakura

- Dance

Ya girl fucking demolishes every single dance routine. Initially starting out with a focus on ballet (pre-shippuden in canon), our pink headed queen soon realized that she wasn’t getting the full experience of what it meant to dance. Her point shoes were her loves, however they hurt and nipped in places not just physical. She realized that she didn’t want to be pigeonholed into a genre of which she would be inhibited by standard, and rather to dance so as to forget technical perfection. Thus, what would partner with post-shippuden Sakura in canon, Art School AU Sakura got into hip-hop. And bitch, she goes hard. A lot of the other girls who she used to dance ballet with admire her for her absolutely BODYING her dance routines, but also for never sacrificing her femininity to dance and not taking BS for being a girl who goes so hard in a male-dominated genre. (Some people believe that hip-hop is heavy hitting and a little metaphorically “dark” so to speak, which Sakura is not. So obviously I expect a little disagreement regarding this, however if you look at people like Delaney Glazer or Kaycee Rice, that is how Sakura would dance).

Hinata

- Creative Writing

Shy and bookworm-like, Hinata can write the best poetry, romance and adventure pieces out of all the creative-writing majors. She’s especially good at writing character relationships and development, and has such a subtle sense of intelligent wit in her writing, that if you blinked you would miss it. However should you catch it, you’re sure to chuckle. Her only struggle is that she tends to drag on in important scenes, stretching them against the regular flow of the rest of her writing. Needs validation for her writing through an IV drip.

Kiba

- Drums OR Photography

Drums for obvious reasons (loud and obnoxious), although ruff boi looks good with a camera, too. Great at landscapes and street photography.

Shino

- Creative Writing OR Photography

I could definitely see Shino having fucking beautiful handwriting, and being a beast at writing anything within the sci-fi realm. I could also see him doing some journalism, and writing for the school paper. He’s very good at the logic of his sci-fi books and coming up with logical but enrapturing stories, that intermingle knowledge and mystery. He’s a very specific type of read, however, and may not appeal to all, however if you enjoy anything similar to Star Wars or Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, then Shino is your author. If this doesn’t float your boat, though, try photography-major Shino. He can get the best angles of bugs he sees, and has an extensive portfolio with entomology-related snapshots.

Ino

- Dance

Like Sakura, she, too, began with a focus on ballet, however began to branch out into contemporary ballet a little later than Sakura. This is another reason why Sakura switched her focuses, as she and Ino had always had a fierce rivalry for dieting (ballet dancers are pressured to be as thin as possible) as well as battling for technical perfection when they were ballet focused. As the two grew, Ino focused more so on contemporary, but can certainly do some hip-hop with Sakura every now and then, just as Sakura occasionally takes a contemporary class with her. The two still have a rivalry, however, just not to the previous extent as when they were actively competing against each other. They’re more like sisters.

Shikamaru

- Guitar (bass) OR Creative Writing OR Architecture

Smart boy’s a tricky one. He would either be a bassist, a mystery and historical fiction writer, or, of his school offers it, be great at architecture. Idrk.

Choji

- ermmmmm….. maybe graphic design? Tech theatre (props)? Vocal???

Choji is hARD dwnccnpc (that’s what she said). I could see him behind a computer screen, animating and designing games/covers/posters or whatever. He could also do something in theatre, but I don’t think he would do anything up on stage. Something like props would suit him. He might do something in music, tho???? Can he sing???? Help???

UPDATE: Choji is a band kid. He plays tuba or some shit. Big boy got big lungs.

Tenten

- Dance

Always has been, and always will be a hip-hop dancer. She wanted to be like Tsunade, a legendary dancer and followed in her footsteps, taking up hip-hop. (that’s why Sakura focused on hip-hop, too, because Tsunade mentored her and taught a few of her classes, too). Tenten is fast and can keep up with any beat. Not only is she a great dancer, but she’s also athletic, and does track and field (cross country), football, and softball at another school too, since the arts schools doesn’t offer it. Overall great dancer with styl. She’s really looked up to by some of her underclassmen for her cheery, but badass style and skill.

Lee

- DANCE (hip-hop, too)

It’s sweat. It’s burn. It’s energy. It’s Lee.

Neji

- Violin

First chair violinist in his freshman year for the school’s philharmonic orchestra. He be extra like that.

Gaara

- Guitar (bass)

He had a lonely childhood with neglectful/abusive parents, and rock music really helped him with that. Emo music is emo and often made fun of, but the songs have messages and Gaara related, so self-taught himself the bass guitar to help cope, and bring him closer to the music that salvaged him.

Kankuro

Specifically sculpting. For obvious reasons.

Temari

- Acting

Girl can make you cry with some of her monologues. Total lead. Has a seriousness in her acting that makes her believable, however can falter on the less-serious roles. She may also double-major in whatever Shikamaru does. And she’s better at it than him.

Itachi

-Piano

Boy could play any etude at age 7. Performed at Carnegie Hall when he was 10. And no, he didn’t pay to play there. The hall invited him. Began composing at 9. Has perfect pitch. Owns international awards. If he’s not at school it’s because he’s traveling to play for crowds. He excels at classical and baroque, however has an ear for romantic, and enjoys playing/composing pieces either written or inspired by romantic pieces. Enjoys Schumann, Debussy, and Tchaikovsky. Hates modern classical music, though. Can only take cinematic pieces composed by people like Williams, however can’t stand Prokofiev at all. He does like modern music, though, so long as it’s outside of the orchestral/classical music realm. He likes R&B. He would have liked to do film with Shisui, particularly producing, however his parents pressure him with piano, so he helps Shisui with student films and projects outside of school (will probably pursue film after graduating, tho).

Shisui

- FILM / VIDEO PRODUCTION

Fight me on this!!! THIS BOY IS SO GOOD AT CINEMATOGRAPHY MY FILMMAKING ASS CAN’T EVEN. AS SOMEONE WHO IS IN LOVE WITH FILMOGRAPHY, TRUST ME, SHISUI HAS IT™. THE IT™. HE’S GOOD AT EVERYTHING. a few things

lots on my mind per usual but lately more so .. and i dont have a journal with me right now so im typing it here... -____- 

anyway some things:

1. i want to start working out lol i always want to but i am fucking lazy but i think it would obviously be really good for me and plus i want to look like gwen stefani.... i think its time i finally work for some abs lmao. i also bought hair bleach but idk tbh im a little hesitant but also i need change so bad and i think i would look hot anyway. i also need to get a haircut i have a photo saved of whaat i want and its gonna be around the length i have now but a little shorter and more choppy/shaggy. i wanted to also pluck my eyebrows down bc they are really heavy and thick and im like so over it tbh ive never loved having thick eyebrows but alex was like dont pluck them ull ruin them but at the same time im like . i really want thin eyebrows i think they are so cool when done right.

2. ok so that^ was mainly about image stuff and ill get back to that but i also need friends like desperately. im not even the type of person to really want or need friends but im about to go through something life altering and i need a support system really badly... i have bumble bff but so much of the time i message ppl and we talk like once and then they stop replying am i really that crazy..... no but really i just want to make friends organically.

3. which brings me to the idea of taking a class or joining something like ideally i would take a class im just not sure what for yet,,,, like maybe writing? ive never taken a writing class but i think it could be good for me in the sense that it would force me to have to write and i could get feedback and stuff and also potentially make friends. i also want to take some sort of art class maybe but u know, money

4. and then once i feel better about myself and my body and everything i want to start dressing up more i already try but i used to do it a lot when i was in college because i had an excuse to, so now i dont really get to because i dont go anywhere lmao. so im thinking when i have friends or classes to go to and what not i could really start to explore my new style and gender, which i have recently gotten to know better... it would also help if i felt good about my body lol..

5. lastly i have been trying so hard to work on music but struggling, and not even in a musical sense but in a lyrical sense and im so over it omg i guess its just writers block but its become really frustrating so like i said in another post im just gonna take a little break from it for now i think... i love music a lot but when i think realistically about a career for myself i honest to god do not know what i see.. i used to imagine a lot of things for myself but these days its really difficult. this is something im actually working with my therapist on because its like a huge fucking struggle for me but i think its time i realize that some things are just going to be hobbies for me. like painting and sculpting and stuff like that, i dont realistically see it making me money unless i was like really good at it which i just think im decent.. which also isnt fair to say because things take practice so i i obviously would potentially get a lot better the more i do it but what i should probably start thinking about is what can make me money right now? (bc im struggling with money always lol) so what i think im gonna do is either try and find a job in some sort of art field i really dont know what yet this is just a seed of an idea but what i CAN see myself doing to make money in the long run is writing, so i really need to discipline myself and start working on my novel everyday. i think i have to treat as it is which is work because yes it is fun to me but its also something i rarely work on so if i tell myself, this is my job, and this is something i have to do i think i would actually be able to write more often lmao. (just capricorn things). and then once i start making money from writing i can just go from there and work on other things i wanna make and do like film and what not. 

anyway it felt good to type this all out because literally 10 mins ago i was feeling incredibly pointless and hopeless and now i feel like i have some good goals that can lead me down a good path. and especially with whats happening in my life right now i need something to focus on. ok. cool bye

oh god lol I wish XD so the “oh shit here we go again” is just because myself and @cassieoh can’t seem to not start new stuff. 

This is intended to be an 80k romance novel “where nothing happens.” We wanted to write a story of middle-ish aged queer romance somewhere in the nebulous American ‘countryside’ (probably somewhere in NY state or the PNW tbh but ultimately unnamed) where there’s no massive fight to be had, no huge thing they have to overcome other than their own emotions (standard romance tropey stuff), and we’ve more or less decided that we’re not the biggest fan of writing homophobia or similar aspects of real life into our fiction. (That is, ofc, not to say that it shouldn’t be written! just that it’s not our specific cup of tea to write ourselves)

That being said, our main characters are:

and Rachel, who is Jae’s best friend since they were 12ish and aged out of the system together and Ari’s neighbor. Rachel’s got two kids [currently working names are Kay and Abe though it’s very likely to change] who both she and Jae call the little tweenage monsters (they’re 11 and 13 or so and run feral with the rest of the kids in the neighborhood). They call Jae “uncle Jay”. 

The entirety of the story is Jae coming over to babysit/house sit for a whole summer while Rachel and Adam (her husband) are pulled away for a major work opportunity and Jae works through what is more or less full-time parenting for the first time. Previously he’d only seen them for maybe a few days at a time, a week even, but with Rachel or Adam there as well ‘cause he was visiting, and now he’s the adult here and there’s so much! 

But really, in the grand scheme of things, there’s not much at all that happens other than the occasional pre-teenage semi-rebellion, a few accidents because tweenagers aren’t fully sure of where their limbs are at all times while they shoot up rapidly like bamboo stalks, and Jae cries a little about it, but lo and behold here’s a nice, friendly neighbor who’s used to these tweenage shenanigans spilling out over his lawn offering Jae a hand up and a comforting hug and whOOps now he’s in love oh no!

We’ve got the first 800 or so words of this written and we’re gonna try to stick to the usual romance novel formatting, so we’ll see how that goes and how many words we have to cut after lol

but for a whole week straight, not once did you hear jongho whisper even a single note and tbh you should’ve been happy about it but...you couldn’t help but feel worried

so once again you knocked on his door to which jongho opened it and frown because he looks so....heartbroken?

you later find out that the person jongho looked up to said they didn’t like his voice and he’s been in a slump ever since

and okay yes you were annoyed that he would not shut up at night, but you did think he had a nice voice and encouraged him to keep singing

maybe you were in over your head, but you figured it was worth telling him when you heard his familiar voice permeate through your walls later that night

just a head up, i’m kinda talking about my mental state and just not necessarily low self esteem, just- feeling not great.

tw/cw: i do mention self harm. but i’m not talking about harming myself. i just mention it and wanted to say something because i completely realize not having a warning can be very triggering.

for a little over a week now, i’ve tried to write something like this over and over again. and every time i do or start to, i stop myself. i put it in my drafts and when i go back to finish it and reread what i wrote i delete it. i worry about what anyone would think reading what i’ve been thinking about and how i’ve been feeling. i’m really worried that this is just going to look like i trying to get attention. 😣😓 and i’m worried that i’m gonna annoy everyone and look like this hugely pathetic and over emotional baby. i’m worried that this is coming off as that i’m doing this so someone will pity me.

that’s not my intention at all. i’m not looking for sympathy or pity. i’m not looking for someone to comfort me. i’m not looking for attention. i just need to get some thoughts and feelings out.

and i’m having a really hard time bringing myself to write all of this in my journal. it’s like seeing everything i’m feeling written down, it just hurts more. i completely realize that doesn’t make sense and i’m sorry it doesn’t. it’s like seeing that i wrote all of that down and seeing my feelings written down just messes with me mentally and emotionally and makes me feel worse about myself. idk how else to explain it. i’m so sorry 😓

so, now that i’ve rambled enough as it is…

you ever have those days where even though you love yourself so much, you feel so proud of who you are and the person you’ve become, that you feel unlovable? like just very unwanted and unlovable.

like you’re not just content with who you are, what you look like and who you’ve become and despite the low mental and emotional days, you do truly, honestly and genuinely love yourself. you recognize and understand your flaws, try to be objective and want to learn and grow from them. you realize that you don’t see yourself the way others do and you’ve accepted that you probably won’t.

not in a pessimistic way, you just know that you’re not supposed to see yourself the way others do. that’s what makes each relationship (platonic or romantic) so unique. you try to work on how you see yourself and learn how to love you. but know you’re not working on yourself to see you the way others do, you’re doing it to just see yourself in a different light and learn to give yourself the love you’re more than deserving and worthy of 🖤

but despite all of that, i feel unlovable and unwanted. i don’t understand how i can love myself and at the same time feel unlovable and unwanted. it just doesn’t make sense to me. idk, maybe it’s just me feeling lonely and it’s getting to me. just lately, with the exception of like a few people who have been kind enough to reassure me and remind me that i am loved and wanted, i feel like i’m in everyone’s way.

i feel like i’m annoying everyone and everyone would be so much better off if i just took a step back and left everyone alone. i feel like everyone would be better off without me.

please know that i’m not talking about harming myself. i just mean like if i physically left. like packed up my stuff and just left. idk where i’d go but just go somewhere. you know?

and there have been some things this past week that have partly made me feel this way. and i finally started my period so i understand that’s not helping anything. but… idk… this is just how i’m feeling right now. and i really needed to get it out.

Made a new tumblr that I use more often on a personal level type shit.. I guess kinda like a finsta but the tumblr version? Switching from this one to the new one for writings and the venting ect bc that was never intended to be for this tumblr page anyways... and I’ve all ive been for months it seems on here is just writing n writing or using this blog as a fucking Twitter page smh... I haven’t been present on here at all which made me question what has changed about that.. I used to come on here every night to relax and post pictures and type small lil things and laugh at memes and dumb ass posts but now.. im never ever present and on the rare instances I am present on here.. I deadass just end up either writing huge paragraphs either stressing out or complaining, ranting about negative shit in my life or chronic tweet posting little ass shit like a true dumbass and it makes my page/blog look like a dam mess not to mention.. it shows how unstable and frazzled I am mentally to over 2k people + the ghost followers who stay keeping tabs on me. I absolutely hate that this is what a tumblr I’ve had since i was in the 8th(ish) grade has turned into since it used to be my little happy place and a form of positive escapism from all the bs in my real life... but lately I’ve noticed I have brought all that negative shit straight here which has then kicked in my instinct of avoidance and disconnect. Making this new private tumblr I think I’ve found a way to seperate the two n still keep an on the go online journal to have when I need it and that is important to me bc I really need that mentally so i love that I’m able to do that. I won’t be sharing this new tumblrs url and tbh i don’t see myself doing so in the near future either.. so please don’t ask for it and I hope you can respect where I’m coming from abs understand why I’m doing this - it’s set to private anyways so only i can view it but im very proud of the url name bc a great url name is sooo hard to come by these days... but i got the exact one in the first try! im obsessed w it n i wanna start slowly integrating this new name into some new projects and ventures in the future if possible. Did you make any money today?  Not today, because it’s a weekend.

What was the highest place you've ever jumped from?  I’m not too sure, actually. I tend to be cautious when it comes to jumping just because I always have this fear at the back of my head that I could possibly snap my legs in half upon landing lol.

Have you ever gone swimming in a river?  I don’t think I have.

Is there something you really want to buy at the moment?  I want a jumbo RJ doll but it’s quite expensive and not one of my priorities at the moment.

Has the power gone out recently?  Yeah, like two weeks ago. I was working from home then so it had been a huge bother, but fortunately I had been charging my devices all day and also had enough data on my phone so I was able to continue.

Do you like driving at night?  It’s ok and actually pretty relaxing if it’s LATE late at night and there’s barely any cars. Driving in the evening during rush hour, on the other hand, is just fucking stressful.

I went alarmingly crazy from April to June, but I made a vow to calm down starting this July; and so far, aside from pre-ordering the new Memories of 2020 DVD and buying some merch from the pop-up store, I haven’t bought anything else.

hi!!!!! first of all, thank you so much for the kind words. it always helps when i hear that people like my content, and it’s nice to know when people on studyblr reach out and motivate each other. i hope you’re doing well as well!i guess i have to preface this with the fact that studying in undergrad is very different from studying in law school. also, studying in different undergraduate courses constitutes very different studying styles as well. for me, i took literature, so it was a lot of writing papers and not much memory work. in law school, there was a LOT of memory work. i did really badly for several months because i wasn’t used to studying for those kinds of exams. i may make posts if anyone’s interested on how to study specifically for literature or law classes, but for now, these are general tips on how to study.this is a long-ass post, so my apologies!

- actual intelligence matters very little in school. some people learn faster, some take a little more time. being smart in itself does not matter when you don’t work. actual hard work can compensate for a less retentive memory (as i’ve found out over the semester). discipline and a lot of hard work always pay off, even if it seems rocky at first. make the resolve to dedicate a set amount of time to study everyday, even if it’s just an hour or so. a little is better than nothing. - my constitutional law professor (aka my favorite professor) advised one of my classmates to log her work hours. while it seems tempting to set a specific timeslot to get things done, sometimes life gets in the way, and you don’t actually get to work at 3 pm. maybe most of the time you sit at 3 pm is spent fiddling on your phone. to actually track productivity and consistency, time the hours you actively spend studying. put away all your distractions. personally, i like the forest app because it forces me to stay away from social media and lets me use the pomodoro method. on good study days, i get to log my work time in batches of 25 minutes. again, it can be the amount of hours you put in, but what matters is the quality of work you put in. stay consistent. i promise you. it helps- on the study environment: sometimes studyblr convinces you that you need a coffeeshop, an aesthetic library, a beautiful italian garden to get things done. that would be ideal, but most of us don’t have access to that. i suggest you evaluate if you work better in public spaces with a little sound ambience, to hold yourself accountable (coffeeshops, the school library, with friends), or in private, quiet spaces. once you know where you work best, know what keeps you focused. is it tea? a glass of iced coffee? a lofi playlist? a podcast? i find that process a little fun because it keeps the study process a little less dull and uncomfortable, as it often can be. don’t forget to keep it pleasant/rewarding, but note that overindulgence can distract you. trust me, i know this from experience.- study materials: are what you want and what you need. you don’t need anything fancy. personally, i need many colored pens and highlighters because i have a color-coding system for cases and provisions, but for undergrad, my best weapons were just a black ballpen and a nice mildliner. it’s preferential, and just see what works for you. - on study anxiety: i have mental health issues. i’ve been seeing a psychiatrist (and lately a therapist) for depression and anxiety, and it used to be really, really bad, to the point i couldn’t start. i think the best place to start is to find that kind of help if you really have bad mental health. but if it’s the kind of anxiety that stems from being worried that things won’t turn out well, or that there’s too much to do, it’s always best to start, and to remember that even a little, or something imperfect, is still progress. try it for 5 minutes. if you still can’t do it, rest. but sometimes we just need a little push. other things that really calm my anxiety are a good baroque playlist (check out baroque lute/jordi savali’s the celtic viol/bach’s goldberg variations on spotify!!!), jazz, or lofi, and lavender room spray. i also like to use gifs which help you with breathing techniques. you can find them all over tumblr and twitter. it’s also really helpful to ask others for help when you feel stuck. i’ve asked professors for a little consideration and classmates for advice and clarifications when i’m confused. reaching out to other people is often a great way to start the learning process. 

- scheduling: i find it hard to keep on top of things, so i’m really thankful to the classmate who added me to a google calendar with all the class assignments. i think it’s a great system for knowing what the assignments are, so google calendar is your friend. for daily tasks, bullet journals help keep me accountable. i have a really simple one. quick and dirty. ACTUALLY STUDYING: methods, tricks, tips- consider the subject. different classes require different methods. some classes like math and chemistry – which, disclaimer, i have very little experience with – require practice problems. for literature classes, this requires much free analysis, annotations, research, and your own interpretations. other classes like history and geology require the memorization of topics. consider what information you need to learn, and how you want to approach it.- TAKE NOTES DURING THE LECTURE. i can’t stress this enough. if the teacher or professor mentions it, it’s probably important. nowadays, for major classes, i mark the topic on the syllabus with a special-colored highlighter that i won’t use for anything else so i know it’s crucial and will probably turn up on an exam. note: if they place special emphasis on a bit of information because it probably WILL turn up during the exam. one of my professors mentioned that a case would probably turn up during the philippine bar exam and guess what. it did. listen to the professor, don’t goof around on twitter (me to my undergraduate self, tbh), take good notes. make the notes into a reviewer during exam season. pass the class.- pre-studying helps. this is mandatory in law school, because mostly, you go to class to regurgitate what you’ve studied (or didn’t study) on your own from the syllabus. for undergrad, however, it helps to give yourself a background on the material so you can engage in the class, and take notes more efficiently. also, as much as possible, do the required reading. you’ll probably do it in one night anyway before the exam, so at least spread your work out and do a reasonable amount weekly.- on that note: if you’re going to rush through the syllabus and do “a semester’s worth of info” in one night (yes we’ve all seen Those Memes) anyway, it will be less of a pain in the ass to actually do the work slowly and consistently every week. trust me. this comes from a procrastinator who’s getting bitten in the ass, so please learn this as early as you can. it saves you a lot of pain later on.- THE CLASS SYLLABUS IS YOUR BIBLE. it’s all there. before classes, go through it. keep it with you during class and annotate it if you have to. some of my friends like to space the syllabus out on a document file so they use the headings for note-making. the syllabus will be your friend during review season.- always learn actively. if you don’t know a word or term, it will always help to google. make notes in the margins. make flashcards so you state information and retrieve it instead of just recognizing it. form study groups. rewrite your notes. engage with what you’re learning and it becomes so much more interesting, and so much easier. - set a time to unwind religiously. breaks are so important to avoid burnout. i like friday nights for unwinding, family dinners, reading, watching series. please rest. REVIEW SEASON: HOW TO COPE. HOW TO PASS. HOW TO CRY AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE. - exams are scary. i used to enjoy them, until law school, where i’ve been beaten up thoroughly by every exam. but strangely enough, this is where i only learned how to actually study for an exam with huge blocks of information. i realized that this method really helps for undergrad, and probably will get you honors if you stick to a similarly solid method. - study as early as you can. once you know when the exam is, make a study plan. two weeks is a good minimum. sometimes, there are professors and teachers who announce only a week before, which is unavoidable, so honestly. just make a plan. i tend to assign a set number of syllabus pages to cover/study for on each day so i have time to do a second reading/quizzing. - HOW TO REVIEW: remember the class notes? remember the syllabus? those will help you cover everything you need once you schedule. the syllabus is your map for what you need to cover. assume that everything in the syllabus is something you need to go over at least once, so assign a set number of pages/topics per day. the class notes are your guide on what to focus on. note the special topics which have been emphasized by the lecturer. it also helps if you know what parts you’re very unsure about, so you know what to work on again when you have extra time. i tend to make reviewers out of my class notes, which also helps to retain info, because i go over it again. make time to re-read and quiz yourself. - blanking out on exam day? i can honestly assure you that it’s probably because you didn’t sleep enough. you’ve studied the information, but sleep deprivation either makes you fall asleep during the exam (which has happened) or forget what you learned (which has also happened). if you’ve made the time to repeat what you’ve needed to learn, the studying isn’t the problem. i make a rule to try and avoid all-nighters when necessary because sleep is integral in helping you retain information. when i need extra time to study, i go to bed early, and wake up around 3 or 4 am to study some more. it really helps.DEALING WITH FAILURE: - my professor (a huge businessman, constitutionalist, overall a very successful person) told me that he would not get where he is now if he hadn’t failed. failure is growth because you know you’re doing something. the only true “failure” is when you stop trying. some days are hard, some days don’t yield the results even when you work hard. it’s okay. be gentle on yourself. you are still growing.- sometimes i think about the fact that “gifted child syndrome” aka burnout and perfectionism stem from how many smart kids are often praised for their intelligence and not their work ethic. so when they do badly later in life, they think it’s because they weren’t “smart enough” and give up easily. i think much of doing anything entails a lot of embarrassment, a lot of hard work, and lots of failure. it’s so hard to put up with, and it can often be depressing and unhealthy and put you in a bad place. sometimes we need to talk to someone professional, if it gets to that point. but sometimes, it also helps to realize that a little hard work will help us to get where we want to be. - ask for help. i talk to my friends, my parents, and my professors when i’m stuck. it really helps.ok, whew. i know there’s so much more about studying. but i hope this helps for now. please let me know if you guys want more specific study guides. good luck, loves! you got this.– sam
