this is such a non-issue but I find it a bit funny when fans assign teachers/mentors a parental role when, most of the time, those characters are actually rlly good representations of what it means to be a good teacher/mentor, I’m thinking about aizawa sensei btw but it’s also funny when people call gojo mengumi’s dad because I personally don’t read him as paternal at ALL but to each their own ofc :)

Can you expand on your parents strict parenting?
For sure. these were some of the rules my sibling and I had/ some of which we still have:
Our transactions are monitored by our family accountant. Our parents have full access to our bank accounts. We can spend whatever we want and wherever we want but what we do will always be monitored.
Growing up we were expected to learn classical music, engage in sports and travel abroad to understand culture. We were not given the freedom to opt out of this until high school ended. Good grades were a given. I was a star pupil so I never had issues with this but my sibling did.
Our media consumption was monitored till we were about 14-15. Everything that we were watching, reading, the apps we were on, social media everything was monitored. That’s why you won’t ever find crazy pictures of me online.
We were expected to do something philanthropic on our birthdays because our father was scared that we would be seen as “spoilt rich kids” if we only threw parties.
My father would often observe my parties, albeit from a distance. Whoever threw up, made a mess etc etc he knew exactly what was happening. Drivers would be kept to ensure everyone got home safe and no one drove under the influence.
At some stages of my life I had security drop me to school. It was on-off. I’ve had stalker incidents.
We were raised with Nannies who took care of us and who we loved. My father was absent frequently when I was younger. My mother couldn’t manage two kids on her own, so she hired two Nannies to take care of us. They were allowed to discipline us in any way.
strict monitoring over my clothes. Given my background, I had to dress conservative at all times. My father also preferred me having long hair, which is what I still stick to today because I agree that it looks better on me. even at home, I can’t just wear regular wear like shorts or skirts or PJs or no bra because of the amount of male staff we have.
Our parents never interfered in our teachers’ ways of disciplining us. Both my sibling and I have been beaten plenty at school. Most of my other friends’ parents complained to the principals about these sort of disciplinary methods but my father refused to, saying that it was good for us.
I was kept away from certain families, certain family members from a very young age. Today I know why.
i have a few high profile family members. If they ever posted a picture of my sibling and I with them, our legal team would contact them to immediately take the photos down. My father refused to have any sort of publicity of his children.
we were never allowed to date. Both my sibling and I, if we opt for marriage, will have to respect the arranged marriage custom.
we often had dinners with politicians, actors, businessmen - we were expected to be quiet and observe and never interact more than necessary. I was once scolded terribly for getting excited when I met one of my all time favourite actresses. You had to be emotionally neutral at all times.
my sibling and I both have drivers licenses but we’re encouraged to take the drivers if we have to go out and not drive alone.
we were expected to have an extremely high level of global affairs. Reading the news everyday, reading physical books, was highly important.
we were raised quite sheltered. I didn’t realise how sheltered I was until I went abroad for college. I can’t explain how but yeah.
we never got presents for birthdays because we could have anything we wanted during the year. When we were younger this came with some set of goals that we had to meet.
We were groomed for the businesses early on, provided we had the motivation. I began in mid teens out of interest, my sibling refused to join till their early 20s. Our family’s rule was simple - either you get out of the house and start from absolute scratch or you work with us. If we decided to join the business, we were given X years to prove ourselves. If we cannot prove our competency, we’re both out.
The heads of our families - grandpa and my father - their wills were read out to us on a yearly basis. We knew very early on what legalities regarding our inheritance (which is also to be earned, not given) looked like. Our father warned us from a young age that no dispute over money, property or business between my sibling and I will be tolerated. Our spouses will never join the business but they may look after philanthropic causes.
I’ll update this list as I remember more things.

If Sabrina does get added to fashion club, I'm curious to see where she falls on hero-villain spectrum. Personally, I could see two options for her. First is she's like Claude, still "evil" (though she more so just a bitch) but the whole ending the world and nullification/ erasing all emotion thing is way too far for (especially when she see what it did to Amber). The second idea is that she's like Orochi in Fav & Mad, someone to pure acts on her whims and desires and it's those whims and desires that dictate in what circumstances she's either a ally or foe to the heroes.
So, we have two designs for "precanon sabrina."
Tumblr media
We have "Sabrina Ratif" The bible describes her as a "rule stickler" and she seems to have access to a "class call" notebook. She definitely has a "teacher's pet" energy about her. She is also described as a chatterbox- talking nonsense in order to seem interesting- and can even lie to inflate her sense of importance... turning lying into an art.
sounds a bit familiar, hm?
Tumblr media
and we also have this design. Which still seems to lean into her "class president" or "uncool nerd girl"
Tumblr media
wait hold on this is official documentation how did that slip through... i'm going to assume that was a translation error...
I'm assuming this piece of info about her is about the same time that art was made, as Juleka was described as "She’s a bass player in a Goth band" and her design in this line up.. lines up with the description.
Tumblr media
(the design, if anyone needs a reminder.)
Reeling back to Ratif, (and by extension the later design) is that she is very wooed by Chloe: "She worships Chloe, whose beautiful blonde hair, matte skin and personality she admires."
Tumblr media
(what Chloe looked like btw. Still rocking "Melody from the QK's look", while slowly transitioning into the villainess we know today.)
A pale white girl admiring someone's "matte skin and blonde hair" feels like something I am wholly unable and unequipped to make proper commentary on. But I get very very bad vibes with how Sabrina is portrayed as "worshiping her beauty" and, considering how this attitude is carried all the way through the canon show..
Well.
I understand that teens tend to judge themselves harshly compared to their peers, and that someone like Sabrina (who has a cop for a dad) might pressure herself into being someone who dresses "properly" and gets top grades. Kids get that way, desperate for approval... and when she encounters Chloe- who seems to pull off her looks flawlessly and with confidence- it's no wonder she is drawn to her, even if that relationship makes her self-esteem worse.
"Ah, her hair falls so easily into waves, and my hair is so unnameable." "Her clothes are nicer than mine" "She's able to say what she wants so freely without worrying what people think of her."
I think this is a great bedwork to elevate Chloe as a character, to show the extent of her selfishness and to use and abuse others who are emotionally fragile or are in less than ideal situations. (a thread that canon lost because she does this to ONLY Sabrina and her father... then backpedal entirely because they later have the narrative state that this is what they want. Everyone else tolerates her at best.)
Sabrina doesn't need to be a complicated character, tertiary characters don't need tons of depth and character development, and they exist to elevate other. more important characters. However, it doesn't mean that their stories can't be meaningful. Sabrina breaking free of Chloe's influence can suggest that "Even the most hopeless can break free of being star struck"
Tumblr media
While directly unconfirmed, I think this IS her as Dragonfly. Greenhopper and Killer Bee are clearly Alix and Chloe, and the three were depicted and planned to be a trio of bullies. Plus, her red hair and green eyes pop aren't on any other character. At this time of development, it was known that the miraculous could erase disabilities, so her need for glasses was probably erased as well.
Anyway, on to how I would adapt her for FC
Tumblr media
I think her wild hair makes her stand apart, but pulling it back into something more controlled hybridizes her design a bit and since it still translates that she's a bit more conservative and trying to keep herself together. I kept the glasses. Below the knee dress, big puffy sweater... she's got self-esteem issues and wishes so desperately she could be as bold as Alina, carefree as Alix, or as much as a shining beacon of confidence as Amber (so many A names!). So much so, that she has become a bit worshipful of Amber- swayed by her golden voice.
Her lack of self-confidence is made manifest via "Garmitt" her faerie, who is SO full of confidence that he is dead-sure that he is actually a dragon, rather than a dragonfly. It is him that pushes Sabrina to assert herself, and try to become what she wants to be.
When she sees a rule broken, she stands up for it- just like her papa- regardless of whether or not the rule was good or bad or even fair or appropriate in context: because rules are rules. She wants to make her dad proud, but he is too busy being focused on taking down the vigilantes: Ladybug and Chat Noir. So much so that it takes time from his private life- meaning his daughter is often left to grow up on her own. She wants to hate them too, but she admires them very much- Ladybug's wild creativity and Chat's confidence- and their genuine kindness to her, causes her to question what she strives to do.
For the first part of the story, she is a direct threat- the hall monitor, the enforcer. She shrieks to the teachers when something is up- she bars Marinette and Felix from escaping to deal with a wish-maker or renegade villain. She watches Marinette in the bathroom to make sure she's doing bathroom things rather than escaping class. She offers to do tasks that would help our heroes escape and threatens to debunk their alibis.
She is part of the Journalism team, working on the school paper. She's a great reporter when she tries, but her lack of confidence makes her stories lack a certain touch (for example, a new exhibit at the museum written by her is great, but she fails to interview people.) and she also fills in the gaps with white lies. However, Alina is helpful to her here, giving her genuine feedback and patience.
Unfortunately, Alan sways her easily, feigning interest in her in order to learn details- after all, she is the police chief's daughter. When Garmitt is stolen from her by the order. She is finally able to put her foot down- her indecision breaking and slowly building confidence is given a boost by the loss of her Faerie, and what the villians thought would be a person too lilly-livered and spineless to spill beans ends up being a catalyst to terrible losses. Specifically the threats of Amber & the police force... who are being heavily bribed by Fury and TsuTec.
so to summarize. She's a teacher's pet, and her story intertwines not only with LB and CN's, but Alina via the journalism club. Ultimately, she does the right thing, because despite what she does, she does view it as the right thing. She's ultimately a narrative payoff to the heroes being heroes & good people. She shows how dangerous some of the villians are- through her loss of Garmitt, manipulation by Alan and Amber, and the neglect of her father- who's obsession is fueled by corruption & money.

"[Scully] she probably saw her teacher"
WAIT. o.0
SO a long time ago i wrote about scully seeing ghosts, and @chavisory made a really good point/observation. that scully sees ghosts when there's a reason. ahab didn't want to leave things unfinished, elegy she's very close to death, mulder wasn't dead, melissa tells her about emily, albert hosteen tries to help her with mulder, etc. (htgsc they wanted m+s to see them and they had a blast messing with their heads)
but i think it would be different when she's younger. connection would be very important, and generally speaking, children are more likely to see ghosts. i think she had a fairly close relationship with them if she had a special nickname. and if it was a violent end, i think it makes sense a person's spirit would reach out to someone who can see them. especially someone who would one day go on to be a doctor & work at the fbi. (i would also think this influenced her choices, the first time she understood there was real evil in the world.)
devil's advocate kind of solidified this for me. (although they pretend you don't get ~abilities til teen years, which is just. not true.) scully has visions & dreams of the kids who died. her grandmother is only lucid for short periods of time, and i think scully would have seen her grandmother too. as a last goodbye.
ANYWAY. i just think it makes sense that she would have. i've said i like to think melissa used the song to help her, but i think it's more likely it was her teacher.

Adding to my earlier question, I’d love to ask your thoughts on cyborg in teen titans. And why he’s a important member of teen titans. (Example-Like how you talk about how Donna plays a important role as sort of babysitter)
Tumblr media
Thank you for the ask! This was actually a long time in the making, because Cyborg is one of my favorite Teen Titans and I wanted to do him justice. I know I tend to talk about Raven and Terra more, but that's only because I think Cyborg is probably the most nuanced of the early Teen Titans so he requires a lot more effort to explain the nuances of his character.
Anyway Cyborg is a TEEN TITANS character his relationship with the group is important to his characterization, and you can't really throw him in other groups because of that.
I'll talk about why, underneath the cut.
So Cyborg's story is based off the story of Frankenstein, it's even in his name. Victor Stone, if you know German Stone = Stein. Cyborg's entire character is written around how society treats the outcast, and he's heavily influenced by the rejection he has faced by his society especially at the start of his arc where he meets the Titans.
There's two things immediately apparent about Cyborg, he's black, and he's disabled. It's visible in his original character design, half of his face is metal. Both of these things have had a pretty big influence on his life. The Teen Titans cartoon chose to focus only on the disabled aspect of his character, which was a bad choice but this is about the comics not the cartoon.
Cyborg's race had more of an influence in his early life and backstory then in the pages of New Teen Titans itself, but it's still there. The biggest aspect is Cyborg has two heavily successful scientist parents who are both black, and because of that Cyborg has been pressured his entire life to be successful in whatever field he is in too. When he was young he was even pulled out of public school for awhile and given private teachers because both of his parents noticed he was a highly intelligent child and wanted to nurture his "genius."
Tumblr media
This resulted in two things, number one Cyborg was never really allowed to make mistakes by his parents because they were constantly afraid of him becoming "one of the bad kids."
Cyborg's relationship with his parents is also more complex than I can properly give time for in one meta, but while they are controlling it's not like they're outright abusive. Their intentions are good they want their kid to be happy, and be a success in life, but they do make concessions for Cyborg and listen to him when they realize they've made mistakes or push too far. It's a very normal conflict to have with your parents, your parents think one thing they're doing is best for you and try to take your choices away to push you towards that route because they thnik it will make you happy instead of listening to what you want.
Number two is Cyborg's never really been allowed to just, exist as his own person. His parents both wanted him to be a scientist, and when he showed an early aptitude for it they pushed him in that direction instead of listening to what he wanted. They did relent somewhat by letting him go back to public school, but when Cyborg wanted to go to college they refused to pay for it again unless he went into the field of science.
When Cyborg wanted to be an athlete and go into sports, he couldn't just enjoy them he had to excel at them and be the best of the best and earn a scholarship. So already before the accident which made him Cyborg, he's not really accepted by the people around him for WHO HE IS. He's not really allowed to just be Victor Stone, and Cyborg feels this rejection from everyone, from both of his parents, from the society around him (being treated differently because he was black is a part of his characterization) and as a result he's kind of left one, pretty directionless in his life, and two angry.
Tumblr media
As someone who's never really been accepted for who he is, even by his parents, Cyborg doesn't really know what he wants in life. He's always defined himself by his rebellion for what his parents want out of him. He chose sports because his parents wanted him to be a scientist, but even after excelling at sports, the anger he feels at his rejection doesn't really go away.
Cyborg's already kind of lost in life and then the accident happens. Cyborg being half-robot is a metaphor for the way disabled people are treated by society, and I'd say it averts the X-Men Fallacy, because Cyborg has prosthetics he needs to live which make him visibly disabled and people treat him differently because of it. If you are visibly disabled you will be treated differently by completely strangers on the street, and often treated very poorly.
Tumblr media
Cyborg's girlfriend breaks up with him, every friend in his life leaves him, and there's nothing different about Cyborg really, he's just got visible prosthetics now. And this is all true to life people will treat you differently than they did when you are abled.
Cyborg has a lot of internalized hatred because of this. He loathes his prosthetics, and the body he is now stuck in and I'd say this is true to life because Cyborg doesn't naturally feel that way he was taught to hate himself by the way everyone around him treated him. He would not be struggling as hard as he does, if people had treated him better in his period of adjustment.
To mention the cartoon quickly, there's a scene in season 3 where he's infiltrating the HIVE, and he fights a version of himself that is a fully robot duplicate and Cyborg just completely beats it to death his his bare hands until it's in pieces. He wasn't acting there, that was Cyborg projecting his internal self-loathing onto an external target and then destroying him. These aren't the actions of a mentally healthy person.
Cyborg has cripplingly low-self esteem, sometimes even veering into suicidal ideation. He mentions that when he woke up he literally would have rather been dead, then to have survived by his father turning him into a robot. These are some pretty serious mental issues that Cyborg is constantly grappling with.
Which is why the Teen Titans are so important to his character, because they are the first friends he ever made who accepted him unconditionally. Cyborg's only ever experienced conditional love before this point, even this Tales of the Titans issue talks about how he fell out with a friend in his life that was only his friend when he completely unconditionally supported him and agreed with everything he said, even his more dangerous and destructive ideas.
Tumblr media
While Donna is the babysitter, I believe Cyborg is the first person to recognize that the Teen Titans are a family, because he was the one explicitly looking for a home and a family to belong in. Donna, Dick and Wally already knew each other and they are childhood friends. Garfield had just lost a family and he felt like a tagalong kid for a lot of the early run. Starfire's narrative is an immigrant narrative so she similiar to Cyborg is looking for a new home in the same group.
(There's a lot of Cyborg and Starfire parallels you could elaborate on too, but once again that's for a different Meta).
One thing I like to point out about Cyborg is he wasn't really looking to be a super hero. Cyborg's just wanted to be normal his entire life. He was born a genius, but he wanted to go to public school. When he got robot prosthetics his first thought wasn't "Let's go fight Crime", he went through months of rehab first, and then just wanted to pass as normal.
Cyborg is a selfless guy, no doubt about it. There is a story in the comic where he finally receives experimental plastics that allow him to look normal while still having his cybernetic parts keep him alive. However, over the course of the story he ends up having to give them up, and nearly dying because of a situation where he selflessly stays to help rescue someone rather than just getting out of there. He has a heroic spirit, but he doesn't really WANT to be a hero, his desire has always been to just be normal, or at least be accepted for who he is.
Which is where his dynamic with the group comes in, Cyborg treats all of the eccentric and very diverse cast of the Titans like they are normal people. He's the normal friend. Which is actually really important because I said, Cyborg's one of the more nuanced characters, like yeah he's half robot but besides that he's just a black kid from the city.
Cyborg's actually one of the first people to reach out to Raven, and like go out of his way to try to make sure she's included in the group, and he even fondly calls her "Witch" after he learns to understand her better.
Cyborg's relationship with Beast Boy is also something that's an incredibly positive influence on BB, because while they are best friends I think fandom misinterprets their relationship a lot. Cyborg is constantly giving BB a hard time, they're like vitriolic best buds who like insulting each other. The reason for this though, is because Cyborg knows that BB is a kid who's always misbehaving and joking around and will never actually tell you what the problem is if there is one. Cyborg's hard on Beast Boy because he knows BB responds positively to it, if you take him seriously and be straightforward to him rather than just dismissing him as a joke.
Cyborg's the first one to view the Teen Titans as a family, and that's the most important aspect of the group to him, that's why he's a hero because it gives him a place where he can just be himself. He's the friendship guy, if this were a shonen manga he'd be talking about the power of his nakama.
Which is why the most important Cyborg comic ever, is JLA / Titans Technis Imperative. Towards the end of the original New Teen Titans run Cyborg merged with an entity known as Technis and left his friends to go to space. I kind of hated how they made him more of a robot towards the end, but it led to Technis Imperative which is my favorite comic of all time. What happens is essentially after drifting in space merged with entity, he becomes planet Cyberion and returns to earth. His desire to be back with the Titans is so strong, that he mobilizes an entire robot army to kidnap every single character that was ever a teen titans, and then imprison them in a virtual world designed to make them happy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's essentially how important the Titans are as a family to Victor, and how lost he would be without them. Cyborg once became so lonely he almost destroyed the planet trying to reunite his family together again, that's literally how important the Teen Titans are to him you really can't take them away without drastically changing his character.
Tumblr media
On top of that Cyborg is also just a painfully human character. He's angry because he's been rejected so much. He's lonely because he feels like he can never truly belong. He's internalized a lot of negative things because of the environment around him, and feels like he is less than human. He's constantly talking about how he's half robot, but he's really not, he just needs prosthetics to keep him alive.
When he is at his absolute lowest points, he pretends to be an emotionless machine, but that's just because it's what he has been treated as. He's probably the most emotional and deeply loving of the titans, but he's terrible at expressing that because he's never been in an environment that's allowed for the healthy expression of his emotions except for when he was with the group. However, the flip side of this is because Cyborg knows what it's like to be rejected he can be deeply emotionally intelligent in regards to other people and goes out of his way to treat THEM like they're human.
If you're interested in more comics about his character, I suggest reading New Teen Titans first. He's also getting a new solo comic series which you can probably just pick up and read because it goes over his backstory, the first issue came out last Tuesday. His old backstory of being with the Teen Titans has been finally restored in canon which is something I'm pretty excited about.

I've have the fortune of never having to read a Beatrice Sparks book, but I still very much appreciate getting a reminder of how awful she is. (The book you mentioned is going on my to-read pile). I wonder if gen Z kids have any awareness of her whole deal, or if Go Ask Alice has been consigned to history.
That's a really good question! I read Go Ask Alice when I was around 12 or so and had been given lots of Barnes & Nobel gift cards for my bat mitzvah. I'd heard it was about a girl who did drugs and died, and that there was controversy over whether it was true or not. I read it, and it didn't make a huge impression on me other than "Well, that was sad." I was pretty clueless about drugs, not being cool enough to get invited to any interesting parties, so it seemed plausible enough.
I don't know if Barnes & Nobel still sells Go Ask Alice, but I doubt they have the balls to sell Jay's Journal.
For those, Gen Z or otherwise, who don't know, Go Ask Alice was supposedly the true diary of a girl who, well, did drugs and died. Jay's Journal was supposedly the true diary of a boy who got into the occult and then died. Both, and other such books, were in fact written by Beatrice Sparks, a freelance writer and certified liar. (Also a Mormon, which I mention only because I've heard ex-Mormons say you can tell it from the language used in Go Ask Alice.) Alice was bullshit written at the height of panic about weed and LSD (for the record, both can be bad for you if you already have mental illnesses, but don't cause them on their own,) and it was pitched to a celebrity whose daughter's suicide may or may not have occurred under the influence.
That's bad and exploitative enough, but Jay's Journal was an act of monstrous cruelty. Sparks took the diary of a real kid who committed suicide, which was sparse but detailed depression, drugs, religious oppression, heartbreak, and intervention by parents that we would today call abuse. Based on him being vaguely into hippie mysticism and having once used a ouija board, she slandered him as an animal-sacrificing satanist who had been possessed by a devil, and his girlfriend as the same. This was a journal that had been sent to him by the boy's mother, who believed in Go Ask Alice and thought that getting the word out about teen depression was important.
A lot of lies get spread around today about teens in danger, often by other teens on places like TikTok, but in the age of google, it is at least a lot easier to look things up if they sound implausible (whether or not people actually do so.) I have no idea what they're teaching kids these days about drugs, especially in states where weed is legal; I was taught that all drugs were super addictive, until I reached my senior year and a health teacher admitted not all of them were. I imagine it varies wildly. I don't know if any conservative schools out there use Go Ask Alice as required reading, but it's possible.
(Hilariously, Go Ask Alice is also one of the most banned and challenged books in high school libraries because there's lots of implausible sex in it.)
So, to kids and parents and teachers, I guess the lesson here is to verify things where you can. If you see a viral post that sounds outlandish, check for it on Snopes. If people are scared that teens are levitating pencils with their minds due to the powers of the devil, ask why those kids haven't gotten a million dollars from James Randi. Google an author's name if something feels off. Because sometimes outlandish stuff turns out to be true, but sometimes people have a lot to gain by lying.
(And read Unmask Alice by Rick Emerson.)
I'll let Paul F. Thompkins and Danny Lavery have the final words:

*pulls up a chair* Rant about something 💜💜💜
Its funny this was the first ask I got and the last I will answer because I really dont know anything to rant about really... :D
I'm very passionate about what the Kishimoto has to say about mentors and studens in his story. I wonder where this comes from, this need to talk about how teachers, more than parents, can shape a person into a full formed personality, but he uses it over and over again. While Shikamaru and Ino are influenced by their fathers and their deaths, more so it is Asuma that really hits them. I just really really love that. I think also it shows that not only do the mentors really open up in their role (Kakashi for instance just really needed that sort of thing, tho he was a leader in anbu already and a good teacher to itachi, he really needed those kids to open up completely), students also help the teachers grow. These Jonins are usualyl like in their end twenties and they grow adults by helping young children grow into teens.
Heck, the first connection Kishi gives Naruto is Iruka, who is not a very strong Ninja like kakashi or a bloody or loud or strong one or whatever, no, he is a teacher, an empathetic teacher, who from the first moment on never leaves naruto's side. In my nart reread it has really hit me how often Iruka is JUST THERE and oh it makes me emotional.
As such I grow very pained at all of these implications. Hiruzen having to fight Orochimaru. KAkashi wanting to take Sasuke out. MInato having to stop Obito (Obito fighting Minato and hurting Kushina). Nagato killing Jirayia.... and the pain oif the ones left behind. I know Jirayia is an unliked character on this website, and i know there are some who dont care for his death and I'm not telling you not to, I just personally cry everytime because NARUTO is sad, because naruto is hurt and idk, living with the sage for two years has bound them together and now he is all alone.
Like... I really cant fantom the pain Jirayia must have felt when he came home to Konoha and both Kushina and Minato were dead. Not only his miracle student, but also his wife. Or how pained minato must have already been with obito and then rin dying, so desperate in fact that he wanted nothing else as to keep kakashi close (As misguided as we all know that was). Idk, it kills me to think about it too much. (minato was only like. 23 when rin died !!! imagine this would happen to you at such a young age!! god). gai with neji too. we never see them grieve you now, but you just know it destroyed him
so teams are important to me. It is important to me that we see hinata and shino and kiba still have coffee with kurenai, that no matter what happens naruto always asks kakashi for help, that when minato gets reanimated kakashi calls him sensei and listens to every word he says. it is important to me that these relationship exists in a story liek naruto that is for young people, for teenagers.
teachres can be great influence on your life, and once you let them help you they can be a supportive force forever.

Hello! I’ve loved your ml psychology analyses, and I was wondering if you’d being to answer a question of mine! I’ve been thinking on whether or not I want to study psychology and be a counselor, as I love to figure out how people (fictional characters for the most part lol) end up the way they do, and what is influencing their choices. I also really like to help other people who are struggling and try to give them as much support as possible because I’ve also struggled in the past, and I thought that maybe analysis and Listening skills would indicate that I might like the career, but I’m still unsure. Sorry for the rambling, but I guess I was just wondering what made you want to work in mental health and did you find your initial idea of what psychology is vs what you learned in school to be jarring? Sorry to bug, but I thought hearing what someone who’s work I look up fo would think!
ahhhh i always love questions like this because this field is, in my humble and completely unbiased opinion, one of the most important out there, and so i just love when folks are interested! especially because it's such a rewarding career even with all its difficulty!
Read more cause i rambled too much what a shock hfdjsd
my own path towards becoming a therapist is a bit of a weird one because i didn't actually take any psych classes until I was getting my masters in it shjdjkdfs (I was originally in STEM sciences).
becoming a therapist kind of happened by fortuitous happenstance: i was a teacher and found i had an especially great talent for getting kids to open up and talk about themselves and their worries. i'm also very neurodivergent and have my own complicated healing history, and once i got better i realized i really didn't want kids to go through what i went through growing up. it feels a bit selfish but in the best way, because by helping kids out i can make up for the time i spent suffering. it makes me feel good, i guess if that makes sense djkfhds
anyways, my rambling aside i think there are a couple main takeaways that i hope people going into this field can be prepared for so!
practice!!!!!!!!!!! like seriously this is one field where i think the best practice is by doing.
therapy is kinda like dating, in that sometimes you won't click with your client and they might ask to see someone else. it might not be anything personal or it might be, maybe wrong gender or ethnicity or orientation, or they just don't like your vibes. it will be okay, and it doesn't mean anything about you. when that happens i usually focus on the clients i have clicked really well with and remind myself that the client who is leaving is looking to get the best support possible, and it helps
dont trust the movies, it's way more complicated than just asking how someone feels. a lot of times people don't know how they're feeling. kinda got to work your way up to it, and first learn what feelings are
get comfortable with silence. i hate it, i suck at it. but sometimes you gotta make it reallyyyyy awkward before it can get better and the client cant open up
you will have to explain things so sometimes it will feel a lot like teaching. but it's not always so bad
so many fucking acronyms. be prepared
don't be your friends/family's therapist. don't offer unsolicited advice, unless they are open or interested. once you recognize the signs and can diagnose people it becomes waaaaay too easy. it's not always welcome, and sometimes we have to be okay with that
people won't always have the same values or opinions as you, and sometimes it might be triggering. i have a number of clients i wouldn't like or want to be around outside of work, and that's okay. remember to check in with yourself and let yourself have feelings. rely on your empathy and understanding to remind you that the person is what matters, not their beliefs/values. and what your job is
if you work with kids (both young and teens) you will have to work with parents. it might not be fun, but you gotta
you are human, you are born with emotions. you WILL be affected by the things people say and are going through. it isn't easy. the most important thing for anyone in this field is to get their own therapist and really make sure you stay on top of your self-care. think of it like how on airplanes you have to put an oxygen mask on yourself before you can help others; you have to help yourself before you help others.
depending on what you might specialize in (for me it's depression and anxiety) there is a significant chance you might lose a client in the worst way. it will suck and you will grieve, and it will be okay but not really. it's the reality of the field and one that's hard to accept, but i hope folks realize that
nothing beats the feeling of a client you've been seeing for a while start to unconsciously do the things you practiced in session. actually the one thing that beats it is when the client realizes they've gotten better and have made progress. it's the best feeling in the world
kinda related to the last one but it's not uncommon for someone who has made loadsssss of progress to end up experiencing something minor or major that spirals them down. they will feel bad and upset and disappointed, and that's normal. just remember that life is a series of hurdles and it's important to get back up.
this goes the same for therapists!!!! you will make mistakes! and it will be okay! you might say or do something that you think back on and go ah shit i really shouldnt have done that. and that's okay, just get back up and try again
I realize this is becoming very long and may not be as specific, but i feel like this is what i learned that was most valuable over my years in this field. if you have any specific questions i'm happy to go into more details (though my education was a bit unorthodox soooo)

Why the Star Wars fanbase sucks
After years in the SW fanbase, I think I have finally figured out why it sucks so much. Also, Rey is not a Mary Sue. Star Wars fans fail to realize three really important things about good ol papa George.
1) He is or at least was a hippie
“ I was angry at the time, getting involved in all the causes. The draft was hanging over all of us, and we were bearded, freako pre-hippies.”
https://lareviewofbooks.org/.../politics-behind-original.../
More specifically, he’s the scion of 50’s California hot rod culture, and 60’s San Francisco film school culture, a boomer beatnik. “My father thought I was going to turn into a beatnik,”https://lareviewofbooks.org/.../politics-behind-original.../“
I'm more on the liberal side of things," he says. "I grew up in San Francisco in the '60s, and my positions are sort of shaped by that” https://web.archive.org/.../article/0,8599,232440,00.html
2) The man has a mean anti authoritarian streak.“I’ve always had a basic dislike of authority figures, a fear and resentment of grown ups.”https://lareviewofbooks.org/.../politics-behind-original.../
3) Although George values stuff like maturity, adult responsibility, parental authority, role models, struggle, selflessness, and relatability, a part of him genuinely loves….or at the very least is partial to, the mythologized version of teen rebellion.
Before SW, he directed American Graffiti, a 60’s teen comedy that celebrates Greasers, pranks, street racing, under age drinking and rock n roll. During that movie, a teenager, played by Ron Howard, tells his teacher to kiss a duck without consequence. In this interview, he praises Ahsoka for being a “tough little teenager”, for challenging Anakin’s authority.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEHPxvgsFis&t=226s And you can bet this hippie mentality influenced Star Wars, intentionally or not.
ANH is about a bunch of college hippies sticking it to the man….in space.Luke unlocks the force by chilling out and going with the flow. How do you think the line a Jedi can feel the force FLOWING through him, sounded to a 70’s American youth audience, man?
So what does any of this have to do with the SW fanbase? Simple, they have adopted an ethos that directly contradicts George‘s hippie mentality. They want the series to…develop its characters into mature young role models for children, to make its heroes earn their victories through hard work and struggle, to teach kids their actions have consequence. Therefore, whenever a hippie element shows up in SW, fans lose it. For example, how does Rey, a cool young Rebel, beat Kylo Ren, a lame square during TFA? Simple, she chills out, and goes with the force’s flow man, it’s totally in line with ANH from a purely thematic perspective. Rather than pick up on that thematic idea, the fans complained that “Rey didn‘t unlock her powers through hard work or struggle,  which made her victory feel…unearned!”Given the context of George’s hippie perspective, and the subtext of the og trilogy, doesn’t the fanbases’ obsession with struggle, role models, consistent internal logic, continuity and consequences sound….off?

Dealing with teenagers and how to keep them on track in school
Teenage years play a vital role in each child’s development. It indicates the most important years of a kid’s life. During this period, children need to make healthy lifestyle decisions. However, it carries certain risks but also provides the best opportunities to positively influence the immediate and future health of children.
It's difficult to be a teen parent in this modern era. Peers and educators need to be more focused on youngsters as they are trapped in the online world. Teenagers are so addicted to social media that they are not even bothered about their studies. Digital media has drastically affected teenagers, disrupting their educational routines and sleeping patterns. With the constant use of social networking sites, youngsters miss out on things like facial expressions and body language.
In this blog post, we will share some effective tips for parents that can help them keep their kids on track while studying.
Coping with teenagers
Sometimes it becomes very difficult for parents to deal with teenagers as their lovely, happy children suddenly start shouting, arguing, or slamming doors. They have become aggressive or argumentative, which makes the situation more complicated. So, here are some tips that are especially helpful in coping with teenagers.
1. Allow teens some "me time"
Teens have lots of mood fluctuations. Sometimes they feel happy, and sometimes they get upset or angry, depending on their moods. At that time, allow teenagers to have some time alone and give them some privacy. It may help them realize that they are growing up and have to face the challenges of life.
2. Builds communication
Teenagers always want someone who will listen and talk to them. They need communication channels to share their experiences. Parents, on the other hand, can be good listeners and supporters of their children by allowing them to speak and listen to their responses. It can create an adoring relationship between children and their peers, allowing parents to handle them with the utmost care and concern.
3. Stay calm
As a parent, you should behave calmly and be friendly with your kids. If you feel angry, take a deep breath before responding to your child. Take some time to calm down because aggression may lead to misbehavior in teens.
4. Set boundaries
Since most youngsters want to experience greater independence and self-reliance, some will inevitably challenge you to test the extent of their power. Therefore, it’s very important to set boundaries to maintain a constructive and manageable relationship.

Ways to keep youngsters on track for success
Children always need the support of their peers and teachers to achieve their goals. Sometimes they become so irritated and frustrated that they don’t know how to handle the situation. They start investing their time in the wrong activities. As a result, looking forward to them is a necessary step in keeping young people on track for success.
1. Help children organize their stuff and study material
Students need to get organized to work faster without wasting their time. Teens should use their cell phones to create to-do lists so they don't forget anything important. They should attach all the important papers to the binder and must consider purchasing a bookcase, daily planner, and storage bins to keep everything in place. Moreover, if children need their parent's help, they should help them organize their textbooks, notebooks, gadgets, and folders.
2. Allow flexibility in your child’s learning schedule
One of the biggest gifts parents can give their children is flexibility while learning. Teens should be allowed to take some breaks in between their study hours. Continuous learning can make them irritated, and they might not be able to understand the topic thoroughly. As a result, teens will become dissatisfied with their learning schedules, which will gradually deteriorate their academic performance. Therefore, allows youngsters to switch between topics to better focus on their studies.

3. Visit the school's official website
Parents should familiarise themselves with the physical layout of the school building and premises, which can help them connect with their children when they talk about their school day. It’s good to attend parent-teacher meetings so you can learn more about your child’s academic performance. By visiting the school, you can meet other parents with whom you can share your experience and insights. Apart from that, get the latest updates on the school website and know about your child’s activities, upcoming events, testing dates, etc.
4. Encourage your child’s efforts
It’s essential to encourage your children to keep them on track for success. When teens get encouragement from their teachers and parents, they learn to evaluate themselves without comparing their efforts. This will build a sense of connection between children and their peers. Positive interactions can help children become independent and capable adults. However, motivated youngsters will try to give their 100% and improve their behavior.
5. Support teens with their homework
Homework extends classroom learning and helps students practice important learning skills. It reinforces lessons and develops a sense of responsibility in children. So, while your child does homework, help them with interpreting assignment instructions, answering questions, and offering valuable guidance. Make sure that your child completes their homework on time. Review their completed work and provide the correct answers if there are any mistakes.
Final Thoughts
Always help your teen develop in a positive direction by creating a safe, structured, supportive, and loving environment. Please don't aggravate the situation by arguing with them. As a parent, you are well aware that adolescence is a time when decisions are solely based on mood swings. So, try to avoid quarrels with your kids and make them understand that whatever you are doing is good for them by showing love, affection, and empathy.

So I mentioned I was making a essay about A Death In The Family, and I thought it was due today and my teacher deceived us but I like what I have so far so I'm sharing this. Please know that this is a argumentative essay and it might not make much sense but I hope you enjoy this shitty essay, this needs more editing but I like this so far. Also I made a really scuffed title and I hate myself. (essay under the cut)
Emotions That Hit With a Crowbar
Graphic novels are targeted toward kids or teens, and the storytelling in the medium is more expressive than a novel. Yes, in a book you could have the same story but with the way comics are made it’s easier to get lost in the story being told and you don’t have to use your imagination to think of the designs for the gadgets and the world. With graphic novels, writers and artists work together to tell the story, and the story can be dark, light, gruesome, soft, and much more. Graphic novels are a way for people who grow up reading them to get inspired to make stuff like this, from becoming a writer or an artist.
Comics have been around since the late 30’s, and they’ve grown in the past 90 years, creating iconic characters and events that happened in them. Batman: A Death In The Family is one such event. The Batman comics are among the top-selling comics in the industry alongside Superman. Still, when the comic Batman: A Death In The Family came out in 1988 it was a pivotal point for the characters Bruce Wayne and Batman, along with Jason Todd who would later become Red Hood, an homage to The Joker’s old identity after being resurrected. Batman: A Death In The Family is one of the most iconic storylines in comics history, which has had a significant impact on the comic book medium and its community of readers by bringing people together to make a choice that influenced the story, the repercussions of which are still being felt to this day. A Death In The Family should be added to the Canon because of its impact on comics history and the unique way it allowed the readers to change history themselves.
Some would say “Its superficial story arc and catering to its audience at the time dates the story and anchors it firmly in place as a populous novel not written by any one author to import any great truth but rather written to create marketing buzz and to get rid of a problematic character that was hurting sales. A classic must be eminently meaningful, Death In The Family can be viewed as solely a cynical money grab.” - B, a good friend of mine and comic enthusiast. The writers saw that Jason was unpopular and at an editorial retreat the DC president of the time wanted to deal with Jason Todd, Dennis O’Neil recalled an SNL skit from 1982, and he then proposed that they use that skit for Jason Todd. ¹
A Death In The Family was made to deal with a problematic character but it also led to an emotional story that when it first came out, affected many people, and it still affects people today. When you read stories you get very attached, and as the story goes on and the character evolves you grow with them. A Death In The Family has a well-known and beloved character die, having an event that caused distress to the reader is not just a money grab. It’s an emotional story for the readers who love these characters.
Jason Todd debuted in 1983 and his character was revamped in 1987, he was born to Willis Todd and Sheila Haywood but was raised by Willis and Catherine Todd in Crime Alley. Jason's father was a criminal often working for the rogues of Gotham and when he was working for Two-Face he was killed, leaving Catherine to raise Jason, but Catherine died of an overdose a while later. So Jason was to live on the streets taking tires of cars to sell just to survive. While looking for cars to steal tires from, Jason came across the Batmobile and started to take the tires. He got 3 tires off before Batman arrived and when Batman confronted Jason, the boy hit the man in the chest with a tire iron.
Jason ran away but Batman caught up to the boy and took him to a home, but after a while Bruce Wayne adopted Jason. Jason found out Bruce Wayne was Batman and went through six months of training before becoming the second Robin. Bruce knew Jason was volatile during his time as Robin and hoped that being Robin would help with his anger, but it didn't. As Jason grew into the Robin role he became more violent and during a fight with a man named Felipe Garzonas and the circumstances of his death, Bruce and Jason fought more often. When Jason became too violent, Bruce benched him from going out as Robin and Jason stormed out of the manor.
Jason made his way back to his old home in Crime Alley and met a friend of his parents who gave him his family's stuff back, in the box included Jason's birth certificate. As Jason looked at it, he noticed that his birth mother's name, although smudged and unreadable, had the letter "S" instead of "C". Inside Wilis Todd's contact book were three names with the letter "S" as the first name, Sharmin Rosen, Shiva Woosan (Lady Shiva), and Sheila Haywood. This prompted Jason to go on the hunt for his birth mother. All the while The Joker made his escape from Arkham and Bruce started to go after him.
Jason made his way to Ethiopia, Sheila was stationed here to help with relief for refugees and The Joker was here as well blackmailing Sheila for materials for his evil plot. Jason and Bruce (who caught up with Jason during his hunt for The Joker) made their way into the camp and when Jason and Sheila met they started to catch up. Afterward, The Joker starts to leave, and Jason finds out that his birth mother is being blackmailed so Bruce goes after the trucks while Jason tries to help his birth mother, he reveals he's Robin to her and is led to a warehouse where The Joker was waiting. Sheila betrayed him and The Joker started his attack on the boy. The Joker beat Robin with a crowbar and when he was done he double-crossed Sheila and left them in the warehouse with a bomb. Jason tried to save his mother but when they got to the doors, they were locked shut and the bomb went off, Bruce Wayne made it to the warehouse as it exploded.
A Death In The Family belongs in the Canon because of the impact it has on the community and companies. The writers secured the two phone numbers they would use for the vote even before the comics started to come out, the writers were prepared to have both outcomes come out once the votes were cast. On September 9th, 1988 Batman #427 came out, and at the very end of the comic were two phone numbers. Readers had only the 15th and 16th of September to cast their votes before the next issue was released with the result. When the two days came the final vote was 10,614 and the majority was 5,343 for Jason's death. The 72-vote difference was what sealed Jason's fate.² Batman #428 came out on October 20th and Jason Todd was dead. This was the first time a major comic character was killed, the DC editorial team wanted Jason Todd's death to be permanent since they were done with him. A Death In The Family gave readers a unique experience by giving them the voice to make a change within the story they've been reading for years.
The late 1980s and early 1990s were regarded as the grunge era and A Death In The Family was the last straw on the camel's back so to speak. When the comic singles were released it helped lead DC comics into the darker period of comics and how they made their characters from then on. While it's possible that it didn't help the publishers make more comics that were geared to the audience of the time, it was a start. Since comics before A Death In The Family didn't have consequences like they do now, they were soft and more toned down. A Death In The Family changed how storytelling could be in comics, around the late 80s and early 90s Comics started going in a darker direction. It opened the door to more brutal events that happened within the stories, we got comics like Death of Superman, Knightfall, Kingdom Come, and The Sandman to name a few. A Death In The Family should be in the Canon because it helped change comic-book storytelling.
Within the comics community, A Death In The Family is regarded as a classic and an important comic to the Batman Mythos, it helped change how Batman acts and does things while fighting crime. It belongs in the canon not because the comics community regards it as a classic when it comes to the character's story, but for the effect it still has today. There have been a few mentions of Jason throughout the years before he was resurrected in 2005, his character has been mentioned in the 2003 Teen Titans show, and even today The Vote is referenced and used in the Batman lore, in Red Hood: Outlaws, the writers made The Vote Canon inside the lore, Gotham City made a poll asking if they wanted Batman to keep the new Robin and they said no. The Young Justice TV show had Jason's death in season 2, showing his character through a tribute to his death. After Jason Todd's resurrection and the comic that showed what happened to him, there was an animated movie based on the comic of the same name Batman: Under The Red Hood. With Jason coming back as an anti-hero, it gave Batman a foil. This foil gives more depth to both Bruce and Jason and their relationship within comics. Even though it's been over three decades, A Death In The Family will always have a big impact on the Batman Comics.
Graphic novels are an expressive medium, it has more and less freedom of expression than novels. Graphic novels are told in short segments but they go on for long periods of time, creating unique and iconic stories. Batman: A Death In The Family gave the readers a unique experience, the writers brought the readers together and let them have a chance to change the story how they wanted. The comic helped change the comics game with its tonal shift from fun to gritty and expanded the audience's reach. Through the medium of comics, it’s a digestible form, and to the readers along with many others, it becomes a classic.

The counter argument to people being against Sam/Rebecca for legitimate reasons are claims that Sam is being “infantilized.”
These age gap conversations in general are difficult to have because one side won’t acknowledge that just because two people are adults doesn’t mean they are in the same place emotionally and mentally. And this is a very important thing to note.
Someone being 18, a legal adult in America (I think you can date adults at 16 in the UK), doesn’t mean they are able to date a significantly older person, say 38, without a problem. Because, more times than not, which is an understatement, there’s a lot of fucking problems in an age gap relationship even if the older person isn’t dating the younger for nefarious reasons.
It is not infantilizing Sam or any young adult to say, “hey, this relationship may be detrimental to them because of their age.” That is just…facts.
Many people on tumblr and other SM sites often talk about how they still feel like kids at 22 and are still figuring life at, despite having jobs, kids, and shit. Despite being in full blown relationships, these young adults don’t feel like adults and that’s because you aren’t magically mature just because you’ve reached an arbitrary age to be declared a legal adult.
You just aren’t.
And being mature in one aspect of your life or regarding emotional development doesn’t mean you’re mature in other aspects. At 17, I was mature enough to understand this.
Because maturity isn’t just something you obtain like your degree or license, it’s an ongoing, ever evolving thing.
It’s life experience. As in how you learn and grow from it.
Acknowledging that someone doesn’t have significant life experience isn’t infantilizing them, it’s giving an important perspective to a crowd of who is essentially arguing “age ain’t nothing, but a number.”
If you’re all for an 18 year old dating a 38 year old, why not a 16 year old and a 36 year. It’s only a two year difference, right? And what if that 16 year old is really mature? Most would have an issue with that. People are justifying a significantly older person dating a younger person due to legality and not they are actually mature and on the same level. But there’s not much difference between a 16 and 18 year old or an 18 year old and a 20 year old. But guess what, there is a significant difference between people between the ages of 18-22 dating people a decade or more.
I literally just turned 30 last week and, even when I was 25, after a while I could tell when I was speaking to a teen or someone in their early 20s. Because, whether or not you get along with them, there are just some things that, because they haven’t had enough life experience, they don’t have the nuance or perspective to engage with you a certain way and this is even on a non romantic level.
And, in some cases, the younger person is more “mature” not because they’re actually that mature, but because the older person is that immature.
So before I get into the issues with Sam and Rebecca, let me give you four examples of age gaps relationships:
1. A friend of mine dating an older man when she was 23 and he was 38. She was a manager at a gym and he was a gym member. They would have sex and hang out, but she wanted commitment. Whenever she asked him about it, he’d get weird on her. After finally breaking it off months later, he “loved” her and finally wanted commitment, but she’d moved on. While she dated him, I told her my two cents on the situation and left it alone. Last month, she recalled this conversation as she groaned in displeasure hearing about an age gap relationship. She’s now skeptical of older people dating significantly younger people.
2. A friend of mine was 18 dating a 28 year old. We all worked at a pizzeria. He watched her on the cameras from the back when he became a manager—got mad if she talked to male coworkers. Used to gaslight her, controlled her via manipulation, and other gross toxic shit. After emotionally tormenting her for a year or so and pressuring her to live with him, which her parents allowed due to some issues they didn’t want to exacerbate, he cheated on her. They’re broken up now. She was always stressed out while with him.
3. A girl got into her first and only relationship when she was 19 with a man who was 32. They’re now married 23 and 36. She wants to wait to have kids and on her birthday he gifted her baby clothes. Make of that what you will.
4. A girl, 22, dated her 37 year old professor. At 28, she feels like she’s outgrown him and is disturbed about how and when they got together. And one night she heard him advise his friends to date younger girls so they can mold them. Yeah…
Sure you have marriages that have age gaps that lasted, but even then, very few of those are actually healthy. The younger person is usually taking orders from the older partner, can’t do certain things, doesn’t have any true agency, skills to survive on their own, etc. What typically happens is after that person becomes older, they begin to question their relationship because what seemed okay when they were younger, is unsettling after becoming older.
Like I said, take out the nefarious shit, and there is still a significant life experience gulf between Sam and Rebecca and that is one of the many issues with this pairing. Despite what some romantics and media loves to say, “love does not conquer all.” Most of the marriages that end in divorce isn’t because they couple fell out of love, it’s due to finances. Love couldn’t conquer that. Some marriages end because one of them changed or they could’ve overcome their vast differences.
I’m not saying Sam and Rebecca are on a path for marriage or are even in love, they aren’t, however, they idea that just because they get along and have some things in common means it would be a great relationship is very shortsighted. There isn’t even enough significant interaction to prove this. Getting along on an app isn’t the same as connecting face to face. And none of this can overcome Rebecca’s life experience and, relatively speaking, Sam’s lack thereof.
And I’d argue that, on average, athletes tend to be immature because they live in such a bubble where people constantly kiss their ass. Which makes Sam look more mature than he probably is.
Even then, being with an older person ages you. This younger person misses out on so much, many of which they regret, because they’re trying to be mature enough for their older partner. They don’t want to seen as immature for doing young shit when that’s exactly their age range.
But let’s get into the real consequences for Sam here:
1. Sam has to keep his relationship a secret. The media will tear him up about dating/fucking the owner of the team. And so will fans. People love to mention he’s being infantilized because he’s young and black, how do you think that is going to go if anyone finds out about them? Racism, baby. He won’t suffer from sexism, however, they will question his place on the team and if he deserves to be there. This will taint him and even cause issues with his parents. So secret relationship it is.
2. If his teammates found out, this will fracture his relationship with them. Whether or not it’s true, Sam will be blamed for shit outside of his control. They’ll think he only got more playing time, more pay, or whatever because he’s fucking Rebecca. OR they’ll try to ask him for favors and get upset if he won’t do it. His team will think he’s getting favoritism and believe there is a power imbalance between them and Sam as a result. Don’t believe me, Google dynamics once students realize a classmate is dating their teacher or an employee is dating their boss. It usually doesn’t go over so well.
So even if the relationship is loving and healthy, Sam will suffer from being with Rebecca. Because if it's a secret, it’s going to bother him eventually that they have to sneak around and the anxiety of being caught. If it’s out in the open, he will suffer harassment, alienation, his play will suffer because his teammates probably won’t pass to him, etc.
Which leads to, 3: transferring teams. But how is that fair? Sam is developing well under ted and now that may delay his development and stock just so he can be with Rebecca? We want this young, black man to succeed, but his career will be kneecapped due to his relationship. Sam is serious about football and this would be a major blow to him.
Like I said, take out nefarious shit and this relationship is still detrimental to Sam. And even with a healthy relationship, there will still be a disconnect that will lead to their relationship ending because they are in two vastly different places in their lives.
That is not infantilizing Sam, that’s reality.
And, again, that power imbalance is massive. We saw how easy it was for Rebecca to send Jamie back to Man City. She has so much power, control, and influence over Sam’s career and livelihood. She can dictate how much or how little they offer to pay him during contract negotiations.
And this is the ship people are getting upset at others rightfully taking issue with?
It doesn’t even make sense for Rebecca to go along with this either. She played a part in Keeley breaking up with Jamie, which age, Jamie being younger, played a key part in it. She’s even disgusted by Rupert dating a significantly younger woman. I doubt her opinion centered on maturity. She’s not going to suddenly support this relationship if she found out that Bex is super mature.
Rebecca would stand to lose a lot of she were to get involved with Sam and others found out. She’d get dragged through the mud worse than she did after her divorce. She’s lose them support of her staff. And it would fuck up the relationship she has with her players.
Now some Sam/Rebecca supporters have called bullshit on people who are against this relationship, yet support Ted and Rebecca. They claim it’s the same power imbalance or that one exists.
1. It’s not the same power imbalance.
2. Yes, one does exist, but it’s not nearly as wide as it is with Sam and it wouldn’t destroy her either.
Ted has the authority to hire and fire people. He has the authority to facilitate trades, call up people, and send them down. He has a lot of influence that Sam does not. They aren’t equals, but there also isn’t a massive power disparity either.
Rebecca also can’t completely fuck over Ted like she can Sam if she went all scorned woman. Because, doing so, would entail her own demise. Even if you don’t include that, Ted is only attached to Richmond. He doesn’t care about having a career as a football coach in the ways coaches from non US countries do. He can go back and have a career as an American football coach and still be massively successful. Or, if Rebecca did want to fuck him over, he has that bomb as to why he was hired. Ted doesn’t even have to play that card for it to be played by either Higgins or Keeley.
Because one of them will if they feel it’s necessary.
We have no clue what’s going to happen with this storyline. But the idea that people against Sam and Rebecca being a thing, romantically or sexually, being fueled by racism or sexism is misguided, hypocritical, and flat out wrong. If this entanglement is pursued, it stands to harm Sam from various angles and that’s MY objection.
People think this is all about Ted/Rebecca when, personally, I’d lose (some) respect for Rebecca if she got involved with Sam. That would taint her for me. Because let’s be real, many of us are grossed out by Rupert dating, marrying, and then impregnating Bex. Yet, some are okay with Rebecca and Sam getting together and those who are against it are sexist? And I truly believe the same people supporting this ship are also grossed out by Rupert’s relationship.
How is Rupert’s relationship gross, but we shouldn’t obsess over age with Rebecca and Sam? People say Sam is mature enough to date Rebecca, which implies that Bex isn’t mature enough to be with Rupert and that IS sexist.
Even if the writers confirm tomorrow that Ted/Rebecca will never be a thing, I wouldn’t object any less to Sam/Rebecca. If Sam was Roy’s age and in Roy’s position, I’d have way less of an issue.
But you’re going to have a tough time convincing me that a young man who is 20/21 and employed by a 47 year woman who can heavily influence his career isn’t a massive power imbalance that shouldn’t be explored by fans.
I’m really curious to see how this post ages once the storyline plays out. But this post is about exploring what it means for Sam and Rebecca to get involved and how the accusations of infantilizing Sam doesn’t pass the sniff test.

is really surprised when you share that you're actually a single dad. he sees you as being very non chalant around him, so he finds it kind of hard to see you as a parent, but you cant judge a book by its cover, as he says.
when he first meets your son, it was very awkward, to say the least. there was a noticeable age gap, however it wasnt a gigantic. he couldnt exactly relate to him, but at the same time, he wasn't old enough that he could have that "dad full of wisdom" vibe, so it was just very stiff at first.
the ice breaker is when he was visiting while your sons' friends were over, and they were talking about some kind of meme. hagakure noticed, and made a response that was another meme, popular amongst the "youngsters".
they all laughed since they thought it was funny, asking for him to say some more memes he knows. its not every day that your friends dads boyfriend makes a joke that is funny to teens.
he has to be in the same school as a bunch of teenagers, so he hears alot of the jokes they make in his own friends group as well, he sort of has to catch up to their humor so he doesnt become that oblivious friend.
whenever youre scolding your kid for something, he'll be the middle ground and peacekeeper. if he thinks youve gone too far with scolding him/with his punishment, he tells you that its not fair and that kids do dumb thing sometimes.
if he thinks that your son is in the wrong, then he'll speak to him one-on-one, and tries to get an explaination since hes seen as more as a friend by your child, and not as a step father of some kind, so hes okay with telling him.
definitely appreciates you as a single parent, since his mom is a single mother, he knows how hard it is to be a parent, let alone being one while not having anyone help you out.
decides that from now on, he will be the one to help you out. he'll assist you with laundry, cooking, cleaning, and the list goes on. he wants to be a dependable man, since you probably have enough stress to deal with. the least he can do is finish the chores around the house.
as time goes on, your son and him will grow a special bond together. its to the point where they both have their own inside jokes, and they go on step dad and son bonding days, where they go out and do random things together. its really wholesome to see the two people that you love most in life get along.
is not very strict. sure, he has the common sense to not let your kid skip school, but if your son gives him a slip that was from his teacher, stating that he forgot to do a very important assignment, he'll just say "lol teachers suck, try doing it next time though, heres my signature."
whenever there are times where youre doubting your parenting skills, he'll comfort you by pointing out all the great habits and traits your kid has because of your influence.
you're an amazing dad in his eyes, and he wouldve loved to have a father like you. yasuhiro will always be there for you and your son during rough times, so i can reassure you that hes not going anywhere.

Can I be honest?
Ao3 actually kept me from harm BECAUSE it hosted darker content that is well tagged.
Let me explain. I started my fanfiction days pretty young and in ff.net no less. I loved reading and I was curious. First thing I learned before going on the internet was from my father (the internet is not for kids, stay sharp, you going into an adult place, act like it). I was very careful but I was still curious.
So, I started small, but because of the ff.net tag mess I did get burned. A few times. Sudden violence, amputations, sex scenes (god i remember the lemon scale bs, as if i understood it in the first place) (this was before the purge). This was because all the well written fics were mostly in the M rating but had no specific tags so I had no idea if the M was for torture, cursing, or god knows what, I couldn't filter out anything.
Some of those things I still remember, they left a mark in a way, but that wasn't the writer's fault because they couldn't tag and I ignored the author note sections because most of the time it was just rambles of the author talking with the characters self-insert style or about their real life problems, how was I supposed to find a warning in that kind of mess? And that's on me.
In that period I kinda got introduced to sex, a thing that wasn't talked about around me in real life. I was already a bit older, so I read it no problem. Then got introduced to kinks and found them interesting.
That's where Ao3 comes in. I found it when looking at fic recs and saw a new internet address instead of ff.net. For me, it was the holy grail. I was still a young curious teen girl but suddenly had access to a whole library of cool shit. I read a lot of mainstream fics and switched between fandoms like a deck of cards. Then, I saw the E rating. I was interested and clicked. Clicked through the adult content warnings like a true kid lying about their age on the internet.
I saw tags galore! Now, for the first time I was, in a way, safe while exploring dark stuff. Because one fic on the same page was tagged underage (the characters were my age at the time) and was E, while a whole other E fic on the same page was graphic torture case fic and worse. And it was all tagged.
So there I went, looking at fic, going hmmm and deciding: oh that's interesting, ew no, oh that's gross, huh i wonder what that is, this sounds good, oh i love this, uhhhhh hmm should I risk it, OH HELL NO.
And that's the thing! I knew what I was reading! I could experiment with kinks and dark things in a completely safe environment of the fantasy world!
Ao3 in a way saved me from talking about these things with others and accidentaly falling into an actual predator's hands (think student/teacher dynamic, grooming), because my curiosity wasn't going away, I still would have looked sooner or later, and if it wasn't for the no-interaction interface of Ao3 (a story can't kidnap or molest you), I could have been hurt.
Like yeah, no shit, I know I'm lucky that my brain didn't get actual trauma from textual depictions of dark stuff I stumbled on in my early days, but what I did get was more valuable than the risk of trauma (also, you can't get trauma from a tag, but you could from the text that has the tag, so the reader is still the one responsible, they were warned what was inside the box and still opened it).
I got boundaries, squicks, hard no's, absolute limits, whatever people call them these days. I now know what I can deal with and what I can't. I know myself better and could now fight against a person trying to bend or break them. I read dark shit so I know what kind of emotions I get from them and in what circumstances (what I like in text pretty much never carries into real life (even the mild things like biting), surprise).
But purity police would look at my Ao3 history and scream their head off about how I'm a deviant roaming free to attack people like a rabid dog, because obviously I must secretly wish to do that in real life!
And then if they met me they would get the confusion of a lifetime! They would have this image of a sexual deviant/old as fuck creeper/freak and then see me, a 21 year old woman, a well adjusted and social individual who has NEVER and will NEVER hurt a fly, eating chips in bed and reading fucked up shit about fictional characters for entertainment.
Because that's the difference. It's not the average people reading fucked up shit that are dangerous to the public, it's the people who already were fucked in the head before reading anything. No story on this Earth can force you to commit a crime unless you already wanted to do it and were just looking for an excuse.
Case in point, the Dexter inspired murders ("it wasn't me it was the book, I am innocent, it was the evil book, as such I am not to blame, blame the author!") and the NUMEROUS video game related murders (oh no it's not the parent's fault they bought their unstable child a 18+ rated game, it's the game's/creator's fault!"
Fiction and Reality coexist and influence each other in various ways (propaganda, misinformation, stereotypes, false data), but not like this.
And do you guys know why? Because we have an instinctive moral compass, we know right from wrong, and anyone fooling themselves thinking "I would have never done that if this [media] didn't tell/force me to do it" are in fact lying. Again, they would have done it eventually or even wanted to do it already, they just found a viable excuse now, all free to use as a "get out of jail free" card.
Sorry for the long ask and for my English (non-native speaker), you can ignore this, I won't mind. Just got a bit ticked off at people blaming writers for shit they didn't do. So here is my perspective from a long time reader's point of view.
If all these works didn't make me into a monster after all this time reading, then maybe, just maybe, it's not the works' fault.
You bring up absolutely wonderful and important points darling. Thank you for sharing.
And your English is fantastic so don’t worry about it.

The devout and observant Christian is undoubtedly aware of the precarious state of the faith in our modern world and is becoming increasingly open to out-of-the-box solutions. One such possible solution is to take a cue from our bearded Amish neighbors and form rule-based religious communities—but maybe without the horse and buggy.
A brief peak at the current state of American Christianity should disabuse anybody of the notion that this is unnecessarily drastic.
America’s traditional Mainline Protestant denominations are bleeding out so quickly they will likely be gone within 20 years. That is not my prediction, but their own. The ELCA (the main Lutheran branch) projects they’ll only have 16,000 worshippers by 2041; the PCUSA (the main Presbyterian branch) lost almost 40% of their members in the last decade, causing one analyst to note, “At its current rate of shrinkage the PC(USA) will not exist in about 20 years;” and data for the Episcopal Church shows the same 20-year timeline until the denomination runs out of people in the pews.
More conservative denominations used to chuckle at these headlines and say, “If only they preached the Gospel instead of liberal activism, they’d be growing like us.” But they don’t say that anymore. The Southern Baptist Convention, the largest of the Evangelical churches, has lost 14% of their members since 2006; the Methodists are losing members while in the middle of a brutal split; and for Catholics, according to Bishop Robert Barron while speaking at the 2019 bishops’ annual conference, “Half the kids that we baptized and confirmed in the last 30 years are now ex-Catholics or unaffiliated.”
There is one major exception, though: the Amish—a mustard seed that is growing into a large tree in front of our eyes. The Amish arrived in the United States shortly after their founder, Jakob Ammann, split with the Mennonites in 1693 for being too lax on enforcing their communal rules, as laid out in the Dordrecht Confession of Faith. For the next 200 years, the Amish were just a few eccentric families in Pennsylvania that spoke an archaic Swiss German. By 1920, these few families had grown to 5,000 people and since then have doubled about every 15 to 20 years, including between 2000 and 2020 when they doubled to 351,000.
Unless something changes drastically within their culture, this doubling is projected to continue. One demographer, Lyman Stone, showed that at their current rate of growth, they will easily make up a majority of the United States in 200 years. This means the current moment may mark the halfway point between them arriving as a small band of friends and their inheriting the most powerful nation on the planet. They may seem like a backwards remnant of the past, but in reality, they will almost certainly play a major role in the future. This will become more evident after they soon dwarf more well-known churches like the Episcopalians and Lutherans.
So, when virtually all other Christian groups are seeing plummeting, or at best stagnant, numbers, why are the Amish seeing growth like this? The answers people typically give are that they have a very high birth rate and an over 90% retention rate. But that’s like saying someone is wealthy because they made a lot of money and then saved most of it. It begs the question—how? How do they have such large families—with 6 or 7 children per woman—while the country at large has a below-replacement rate of 1.6 children? And how are they able to keep all those children within their communities?
I believe it all comes down to one thing—the Code—or as the Amish call it, the Ordnung.
The Amish Ordnung is different in each community, but if it strays too far, other communities will no longer associate with that community; so there are limits. While outside observers will just see strict rules about hats and beards and technology use, the Amish see the glue that holds them together as a people.
It’s very important to realize that each rule is chosen as a group and with the goal of strengthening individual virtue (especially humility), family and community ties, and their faith.
As an example, most Amish communities don’t allow phones in their homes, but it’s not because they think phones are inherently evil and ban them completely. They often have shared phone booths at the end of the street to use when necessary and at their places of work. They just don’t have phones in the home because they believe it will take away from the purposes of a home—things like family bonding, chores, and recreation. Nobody who has sat in a room of family and friends all silently swiping at their phones can tell me their concern isn’t warranted.
The success of this model was discussed by Eric Kaufmann, a political-demography scholar at the University of London, in his provocative 2010 book, Shall the Religious Inherit the Earth?: Demography and Politics in the Twenty-first Century. Kaufmann noted the growth of groups like the Amish and the Haredi Jews (often called the Ultra-Orthodox) and attributed it to their birth rates and strong communities. Haredi Jews, for example, who also live by strict community codes, were only a few percentage points of the Israeli schools in 1960 but are now about a third of students, and he predicts they will very soon eclipse secular Jews. Haredi growth in Brooklyn, New York, is seeing similar growth, with high birth rates and retention.
Laurence R. Iannaccone’s 1994 study “Why Strict Churches Are Strong,” which has been frequently cited and confirmed since, gives more detail on the success of certain community codes.
Iannaconne found that groups can be strict on items as long as they provide a “close substitute.” Think, for example, of banning social media but then providing a lot of new in-person social opportunities to make up for that sacrifice.
“Strictness works,” he says, but the rules can’t be so strict they make people miserable and drive them away, or as Iannaconne says, “Arbitrary strictness will fail just as surely as excessive strictness.” The rules do have to be strong enough, though, to keep “free-riders” from claiming the benefits of the community without participating. He called these rules “costly signals,” like the sacrifices the Amish make by limiting their clothing styles and technology use. A person would be very unlikely to go through all of those costly steps for community benefits they could get more easily elsewhere. By eliminating free-riders—whose “mere presence dilutes a group’s resources, reducing the average level of participation, enthusiasm, energy, and the like”—they see the reverse, very high levels of participation, enthusiasm, and energy.
It’s not just Amish and Haredi Jews that have seen success with following a community code beyond the laws of the state—think of the monastics who survived in far-flung places relying on The Rule of St. Benedict; knights that followed the Codes of Chivalry; bands of cowboys on the American frontier who stuck close to the Code of the West, which gave detailed guidance on passing strangers on the trail, when to tip your hat, and with which hand you should hold your whiskey; and the tribes along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border who have followed the Pashtunwali code since pre-Islamic times.
Modern Christians interested in starting a rule-based community would need to create some real benefits that are harder to come by in society at large. I’d suggest the basic benefits of a traditional community (help with childcare and schooling, coherent customs on dating and marriage, providing purpose and companionship to the elderly, cultural celebrations and gatherings, friendship, and assistance during hardship) would be plenty.
Then, they could agree together on some basic rules that are costly enough to separate the serious from the free-riders while not being arbitrary or unnecessarily strict. Targeting the rules toward areas that are particular downfalls for modern Americans (promiscuity, pornography, social media, screen-addiction, substance abuse) would be a good start. Agreeing to forego these in this time and culture would almost certainly be a costly enough signal.
Also, many of the rules should take into account issues like abuse of power, cults of personality, convenient personal revelations from God, sexual abuse, and a host of other issues inherent to tight-knit communities (and larger ones for that matter). The ability for a trusted leader to turn out to be an evil psychopath should never be underestimated, so rules should take that likelihood as a given and guard against it. The Amish, for example, draw straws to choose their leaders to avoid jockeying for power.
One last consideration is to what extent “walling yourself off from the modern world,” as Kaufmann said, is appropriate. Kaufmann said that was the best strategy for growth, but growth is not the only thing to weigh. There are also things like loving your neighbors, having an influence on the greater culture, and not stifling curiosity and creativity. Some walls are necessary, like between a teen boy and pornographic websites or between a child and an activist teacher, but a balance between walls and open spaces should be carefully pursued as a group. For example, language is used as a wall for the Amish (who speak Pennsylvania Dutch) and the Haredi Jews (who largely speak Yiddish), but that would likely be a step too far for most communities, as would their highly-detailed clothing restrictions.
Out-of-the-box? Sure. But with the exponential growth of the Amish and similar rule-based communities (and our own failure to find a workable model for modern Christian life) it may be a paradigm to consider. Even without our participation, it will certainly be how a fair amount of future Christians will live.

Existence Is A Prison
gay salt: Yaoyorozu is amazing.
ranch flavored jello: She can bench press me anytime.
gay salt: To be fair, you'd let any strong lesbian bench press you.
ranch flavored jello: You're not wrong but you don't have to say it.
life is a nightmare: She did really well, I'm glad she's advancing despite that Tsubasa guy cutting her up with his glass.
deku deck-you: I think that guy might be related to one of my old friends before UA.
foil-mecha: What happened that you aren't friends anymore
deku deck-you: Tsubasa Ryuu? He got kidnapped or something during a break and I never saw him again. My other two friends? They were fake. They ditched me after the Sludge Villain incident.
nat20: I'll kick their asses for you.
deku deck-you: I wouldn't stop you from burning Aldera Middle School to the ground. For Deku's sake, mostly, but also because I hated those teachers.
feral cat dad: What happened at Aldera Middle School?
deku deck-you: Well, you probably know from Deku by now that I wasn't always easy on him or even this easy to get along with. From the time Deku was misdiagnosed as quirkless, I bullied him. Let's be honest, my reasoning wasn't important because I made his life a living hell just because mine was a living hell at home.
deku deck-you: We talked about everything the day after I moved into the dorms, so don't worry, there's no hard feelings and we're working through all the shit I did to him.
deku deck-you: But, anyway, the teachers at Aldera tried to fail Deku constantly because of his 'quirklessness' but I'd vouch his grades for him once I realized they were trying to flunk him out of the school. And, after the Sludge Villain happened, they began doing the same thing to me because they thought I was influenced by a villain even though I'd told them so many times that I was basically a hostage.
feral cat dad: Looks like I'm opening a formal complaint against Aldera Middle School after the Sports Festival.
deku deck-you: Don't, me and Deku just want to leave Aldera behind us.
feral cat dad: Fine.
feral cat dad: Oh, they had a draw while we were texting. Jeez, that was fast.
deku deck-you: Don't you dare underestimate Kirishima.
ranch flavored jello: Someone has a crush.
deku deck-you: Don't you dare speak of this. I'll launch Deku at you.
ranch flavored jello: Jeez, fine. Feral Deku scares me.
deku deck-you: Good. I gotta go.
12:20 PM
Existence Is A Prison
farmer toshi: Wow, Kats. You did great.
deku deck-you: Can't talk right now. She's in pain and won't let go of me.
deku deck-you is now offline
feral cat dad: Fuck, she overstressed herself.
farmer toshi: I want so badly to check on her but I need to fight Tokoyami now.
1:15 PM
Existence Is A Prison
farmer toshi: Katsuki, you're coming back soon, right? I mean, your match is next after Todoroki and Yaoyorozu.
deku deck-you is online
deku deck-you: I'm back, who's won?
farmer toshi: Kirishima won against Tetsutetsu in their rematch, I won against Fumi, Midoriya won against Toru, Kiyo won against Shizuka, Kaminari just won against Fujioka.
deku deck-you: Okay, good.
ranch flavored jello: I'm down by the entrance to the field. What's wrong with Yaoyorozu?
ranch flavored jello has started a video chat
[Yaoyorozu is shown fumbling around a bit in the ring and Todoroki is in a fighting stance, but drops it when she's facing the wrong way]
Yaoyorozu, why are you stumbling? -Unknown
Shut up and fight me, Todoroki! -Unknown
Something's wrong with you, I won't compete if you're hurt. -Unknown
Just fight me! -Unknown
[Yaoyorozu is shown collapsing and Midnight goes to check on her.]
Yaoyorozu cannot compete due to a previous injury, this match goes to Todoroki! -Unknown
ranch flavored jello has ended the group chat
gay salt: Mon dieu. Is she alright?
ranch flavored jello: She's muttering about her eyes.
ranch flavored jello: Oh god, there's glass in her eyes.
feral cat dad: Get up here, Toru. Now, you don't have to see that.
ranch flavored jello: I won't leave her alone without anyone she knows. I won't. She can't see, Dad.
feral cat dad: Okay, keep her company. But please be aware, they're probably going to do surgery to try to save her vision.
ranch flavored jello: It must have happened when she made that smoke bomb and Tsubasa couldn't see her.
feral cat dad: They're already having Katsuki against Kirishima to ease the tension in the stadium. Clearly, Katsuki's winning already.
2:00 PM
Existence Is A Prison
feral cat dad: Yeah, Katsuki won. So did Shinsou against Midoriya, Kiyo won against Kaminari, and Katsuki won against Todoroki.
ranch flavored jello: At least there's some good news.
deku deck-you: What good news? Icyhot wouldn't fight me with his fire and we spent like ten minutes yelling about trauma before the fucker got blown back so hard when his fire hit my explosion that he's now got a concussion.
feral cat dad: I understand you're angry, but you didn't do anything wrong, Katsuki.
deku deck-you: I know, I just feel bad. Now two of the people I've fought today are out of commission temporarily and I feel responsible.
feral cat dad: I know, and I also know they'll both forgive you. You went off with Uraraka for almost a hour and you didn't mean to injure Todoroki.
2:20 PM
Existence Is A Prison
feral cat dad: I'm so proud of all three of you.
farmer toshi: Katsuki, you're helping put my shoulder into place as a punishment for pulling it out. Recovery Girl already said it was fine.
deku deck-you: A punishment I'll accept fully for doing it in the first place. After I'm done visiting Pink Cheeks again.
deku deck-you is now offline
feral cat dad: My chaotic sons.
ranch flavored jello: Alright, I'm back. Momo can't leave the hospital tonight and she's been instructed to have Recovery Girl heal her in two days.
feral cat dad: There's my daughter. It's a good thing you kids are off for two days after today because you need time to heal after all that.
feral cat dad: Nezu's already insisted Yaoyorozu stay in the dorms because he doesn't want her too far from campus and her parents live in Tokyo prefecture and he feels it's too far for an injures student to travel.
feral cat dad: Tokage is already getting spoken to by Nezu, so she'll likely be added to this chat soon enough. Toru, can you turn on Yaoyorozu's screen reader for her so I can add her to this chat.
ranch flavored jello: Done!
feral cat dad has added Yaoyorozu
Yaoyorozu: Hello everyone!
foil-mecha: Hi, Momo!
Yaoyorozu: Hello! I'm going to take a nap, the surgery was very taxing so I'm quite tired. I'll message you all later when I wake up.
ranch flavored jello: I'll stay with her, don't worry!
Yaoyorozu is now offline
feral cat dad: You haven't changed her username yet, Hitoshi.
farmer toshi: I figure she probably doesn't know our usernames yet so I'll do it later after we tell her ours.
deku deck-you is now online
deku deck-you: Nezu's with Uraraka so I can't visit her right now.
farmer toshi: Is she okay?
deku deck-you: I don't know if I'm allowed to say. Honestly, if it were me and someone told other people I didn't know well without me knowing, I'd call it an invasion of privacy.
feral cat dad: Nezu said Uraraka should be fine. There's no need to worry about her, Recovery Girl is nothing if not adamant on the care of her patients.
deku deck-you: Alright, I'm allowed in now that she's asking for me.
deku deck-you is now offline
life is a nightmare: I wonder how badly hurt she is to want Katsuki there for comfort.

sparklegirl He's cute, Ocha, mon ami!
michipeachy 🥰🥰🥰
farmer toshi: Does Uraraka have a baby sibling?
foil-mecha: Last I heard she was an only sibling.
nat20: Maybe her mom had the baby today?
feral cat dad: Alright, Uraraka is good now, not that I need to tell you since Aoyama apparently stalks people's accounts on everything.
gay salt: Hey, she gave me her account name willingly! I have all the other girl's accounts.
feral cat dad: Anyway. Tokage's also done talking to Nezu. Here's the girls of the hour.
feral cat dad has added Uraraka and Tokage
Uraraka: Hi, guys.
gay salt: Ocha, are you okay?
Uraraka: Oh yeah, Nezu said me and my baby can stay at the dorms.
gay salt: Quoi? Your baby?
Uraraka: Yeah, didn't Katsuki or Aizawa tell you all? That's why I'm moving into the dorms. I went after my match in the Sports Festival with Katsuki and they had to end up doing an emergency C-Section because they weren't finding a heartbeat. Thankfully, my idiot daughter is fine, just chaotic.
gay salt: What's her name?
Uraraka: Uraraka Emiyo.
gay salt: I will spoil her.
foil-mecha: How cute is she?
Uraraka: katsukicryingholdingemiyo.jpg
foil-mecha: Truly a glorious child. I assure you, us 1a students will assist you in your raising of dear Emiyo as best we can.

Yaoyorozu: I'll help as well, once I'm able to.
Uraraka: It's okay if you don't want to, Momo.
Yaoyorozu: I don't believe you were there for it but, in the second rounds, I had to forfeit the match to Todoroki because, in the first round, Tsubasa Yuudai accidentally got glass in my eyes. My win in the first round was a fluke and I was running only off instinct when I got him out of bounds but, since taking the glass out can't fix the amount of nerve damage, I'll likely be blind for the foreseeable future.
Uraraka: Oh gods, Momo, I'd come give you a hug but I can't move around much yet.
Yaoyorozu: It's fine, Uraraka. It was an accident after all, he didn't mean to do that but the smoke bomb I made obscured his vision.
life is a nightmare: If either of you need anything, just text us, someone will get it to you.
Yaoyorozu: Thank you, but I have Toru for now!
Uraraka: Thanks. I'm good, I've got a Katsuki.
nat20: You say that like you've roped him in or something.
Uraraka: Well he's been proclaiming that he's Emiyo's uncle for the whole thirty minutes she's been in this world.
schrodinger better run: To be fair, is he not her uncle by now?
Uraraka: He is. He's the first besides my parents and me to hold her. He's definitely her uncle.
pure: Has he even put her down yet?
Uraraka: katsukiasleepwithemmiyoinhisarms.jpg
Uraraka: No, he hasn't. My mom's about to pick her up though. She's worried she'll fall and I have to feed her and all so he'll be temporarily losing holding rights anyway since I have to make him leave to feed her.
gay salt: He's sleeping, Ocha. Plus, I thought you knew he was 💅
Uraraka: He's gay?
gay salt: No, he's trans, Ocha, us girls had a whole meeting on including our ftm classmates on girl days if they're comfortable with it and you forgot?
Uraraka: Oh yeah, in that case I'm whipping out the titty so my mom can show my how to feed a baby.
Uraraka is now offline
feral cat dad: You kids are going to give me a heart attack one day and I'll put all your names on my tombstone as a reason I died.
