My hatred for all the replacements of Duke in Jason's life in Batfanon is it always uses elements Duke has canonically.Joker Junior is only canon to Btas but Duke's origin story has his parents getting jokerized.Duke beat up the Joker post Jason's death and quiped about the latter to Jason's face upon first meeting.Jason instantly loved Duke as a brother unlike the tense relathionships he always starts off with everybody else and gives him special treatment.Duke was unfairly robbed of the Robin mantle even though he fits it perfectly and is literally so Robin-shaped and debuted the same year og Rhato did so it's such a no brainer he should've been The Outlaws' Robin(not that og Rhato stans would ever engage with an actual black character instead of the whitewashed violently misogynoiristic mess they did with Kory because they're too busy slobbering over Jayr*y to care about actual representation).Duke feels like he's not really part of the Batfam and it hurts him and he dosen't get told otherwise that much except by Jason and neither of those things are true for Tim.Duke is autistic-coded and has femme transmasc gender fuckery swag and as a black person i find it very innapropriate to ignore that seeing how autistic black kids have it even worse than white autistic kids-Including Duke and Tim themselves!-and how the trans community was so influenced by black trans people but gets whitewashed by white trans people and even nonblack trans poc

There's probably even more examples even barring the very,VERY weird habit of making Jason afrolatino not only not accurately to irl or in-character which is what makes us afrolatino Batfam fans think he's afrolatino to begin with in the same beat they completely overlook Duke as HIS Robin and him as DUKE'S Robin yet make a big show of including Stephanie when she's not even Bruce's kid and white girls are way more represented than black boys(and it's telling she's never headcanoned as black despite how well she works as a black girl character,even down to her name).Dudes,why are you even here.You pretty obviously don't even like the Batfam so would an original story not more fun for you?And the obsessive aversion to reading comics has no real basis,you can just ask people who've read the comics about the lore or watch video essays explaining it.You're not doing anything except ruining the Batfam fandom experience for everybody else and then calling us 'gatekeepers' for pointing out when you've gatekept far more than actual comics fans ever have.Including telling US what comics are like with no basis except a superiority complex and entitlement.And all this over stealing a black character's iconicness and basedness because you'll only believe it on white characters since you completely unironically believe black male characters are only supposed to the 'demure weak nerdy coward' stereotype and on top of always shipping incest and adults with minors????????Guys what the actual fuck

this is such a non-issue but I find it a bit funny when fans assign teachers/mentors a parental role when, most of the time, those characters are actually rlly good representations of what it means to be a good teacher/mentor, I’m thinking about aizawa sensei btw but it’s also funny when people call gojo mengumi’s dad because I personally don’t read him as paternal at ALL but to each their own ofc :)

"Mom has a date tonight."

The words didn't strike much in Shinichi, as he was already used to Ran's plentiful schemes to get her parent's back together, "Let me guess, she doesn't know?" he asked in a sarcastic tone.

Yet instead of huffing and insisting to Shinichi her plan would work like she would usually do, Ran was silent.

"It's with a man whose not dad."

Shinichi stopped in his tracks. Ran did as well.

He looked at Ran in surprise and was greeted with his oldest friend looking lost and confused.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

Ran's lips wobbled and tears gathered in the corners of her eyes, "I always h-hoped-I want them back-" she began to cry, her words struggling to be sound over her sobs.

Not used to seeing Ran in such a state, Shinichi hovered uselessly beside her. He was unsure of what to say and do. In the end, he waited until her sobs had turned to hickups and she was rubbing the tears away with the palm of her hands.

"I-I spoke with mom this morning," Ran continued, her words still heavy with her sadness, "I got upset..."

Something happened between Ran and her mother, that much was clear.

"Auntie didn't like that, huh," he concluded and Ran wordlessly nodded her head.

"I asked her how she could consider cheating on dad," Ran admitted in a small voice, "I had never seen her get so angry."

Tears began to fall down her cheeks again, although this time, they were a silent trail.

"She asked me what I wanted her to do," a rueful smile twitched at the corner of her lips, "I said if she was lonely she should get back together with dad."

Shinichi winced. He would never say it to Ran's face, but he wouldn't wish her father on any woman.

"Then she said I was mad at her for 'cheating' but wants her to get back with a man that cheats on her whenever he has the opportunity. I didn't know what to say."

Ran bit her lip as the tears began to flow more heavily and sobs once again threatened to escape her throat. "Dad still loves her, I know he does!" she said after a while, "I don't know why they won't get back together and be a happy couple!"

Shinichi felt pity for Ran.

"Because he doesn't love her enough," he spoke up, prepared for the backlash he will recieve from his friend, "And you know he doesn't, Ran."

The anger he knew had been directed at Eri just this morning was thrust in his direction as Ran glared at him, "What do you know?!" she screeched, "Your parents are together!"

"Because my dad doesn't flirt with every beautiful woman he sees in front of his wife when he knows it upsets her," Shinichi said, his voice blank of any tone, "He doesn't embarrass his family so publicly by flirting with women half his age-"

"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" Ran screamed, covering her ears, "I thought you'd understand! But you're no better than mom!"

And then she ran away and all Shinichi could do was watch uselessly. He knew Ran knew but this was a truth she wasn't willing to face. He just hoped it didn't ruin her relationship with her mom until she does.

He hopes he hasn't just lost his oldest friend, too.

Going back to the US for the first time in almost 6 months this weekend and let me tell you, I am so excited to go to my favourite coffee shop in Cleveland and weep over how much I love Lake Erie.

new gundam build divers series set in a vrmmo like re:rise but every player starts out with gwitch exclusive grunt suits like the gundvolva or the lfrith pre-production model that they can upgrade and customize the more wins they have under their belts

every mobile suit shown so far would be gwitch suits, with the rare few "ace" gundams that resemble suits from other AUs but still following design philosophies with gwitch

in-game missions would be either simple swarming on an objective to destroy it or more involved squad-based missions where tactics and communication matter

the protagonist for this would be an antisocial teen girl who'd recently isolated herself after a chain of bad experiences in school and wants nothing but to escape from the world by immersing herself in gaming.

she's played long enough that she managed to upgrade the default gundvolva into something that works for her, a few tweaks to enhance it's performance and a modular load out that she wouldn't miss if her suit is ever destroyed (since you'd have to buy the gear over again if it's lost)

in a squad-based mission with her nextdoor neighbor and childhood friend (also a girl) and a few randos, they run into what the community refers to as the "Game Over Boss": a gundam that randomly appears and uses multiple GundBits to overwhelm any opposition. Let's call this the Aerial Revive

naturally, the party TPKs, but the protag holds her own on enough that the Aerial Revive stands over her fallen mobile suit. the shell units on the Revive turn blue and the protag is suddenly facing a red haired child
