how do you deal with being a lot smarter/ having your brain work in a different way than most people? I see you get bored at work quickly. How does it translate in interpersonal relationships? Do you make friends easily (real friends, not acquaintances you are friendly with)? was it hard finding a partner that could keep up? Do you find most people boring rather fast? Do you spend more time by yourself, in hobbies that don't require too much contact with other people? just curious as it seems we work the same way for a lot a things.

Hmmm...I don't think I'm "smarter" than most people, I think I have a high efficiency in logic, and I had a lot of good opportunities to be exposed to many different topics in my education, including philosophical topics like epistemology (how do you know something) that are helpful tools. I don't think the things I've learned require any innate intelligence to understand, in fact I think most people could understand given the opportunity. I think in retrospect my logical prowess (brag) had a downside of me being rather rigid and also sometimes assuming something I believed came from logic rather than belief, especially religion when I was a teen. In any case, that's something I'm better at now. I'm also more comfortable than ever going "I don't know." Also, once you get to that point of being comfortable saying "I don't know", you learn quickly how much you're saying it. Fucking don't know anything really lol.

I get bored easily because most people do. Frankly, you just have to lower your expectations at work. You're not going to get to do the things your best suited for all the time. I'm making a switch into a high paced, high pressure career because honestly I've learned about me that I thrive in that condition. I hate having nothing to do at work, it feels like a waste of my time. When I have a job that asks me to have 6 things in my head at once, I do great. When I have a job that asks me to get one thing done, then get another thing done, I get neither done because I'm on tumblr all day procrastinating. Sometimes to figure out who you really are you just have to do a bit of everything for ten years, it's fine.

I make friends fine, there's some struggle because I love really intimate conversation the most, and I find that hard to ask for lately. Also, you get older, parties are fewer and far between. People just have things to do, so you have to find your own thing to do, too. It's better investing in classes and skills than going out to drink every weekend, believe me (or don't).

My bf and I are different in a lot of ways. Our relationship does not always look like the relationship I had in my head when I thought of my "dream relationship" and that's okay. I don't know if he "keeps up" with me, he doesn't have the same skill at debate as me tbh and sometimes he doesn't even try cause he knows I'll win, which isn't very satisfying for a debater (me lol). But life's not just about winning arguments, sometimes it's about hanging out and watching tv together and walking the dog. I think he's taught me that making everything an intellectual exercise is actually exhausting and sometimes it's nice to just say well I guessed I liked that and not think much else. I have other people to pick apart media and politics with.

No, I find people endlessly fascinating. People have better stories than I could ever dream up in my head. I love people. I want to cozy up with anyone in a little cafe and hear their life story and pick their brain apart. Even if I end up disliking them, it's fun to armchair psychoanalyze them in my head lol.

Ehhh, lately yes I spend a lot of time by myself. I don't know if I'm happier that way or that's just how it's shaked out after the pandemic, but I'm much more comfortable being alone than I was as a teen. Even in my relationship, we just sometimes do our own thing in the same space, and I like that more than ever. However, I am hoping my new career will get me in contact with lots of new people. I've said this before not too long ago, but I personally think if your friendships are getting stale, that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you or them, you just need more variety in your life. You have to miss them sometimes to make the relationship stronger. I also have someone I've been getting closer too lately in the past few weeks that I'm excited to extend a more intimate request of friendship soon. I hope she'll say yes to brunch I really want to talk to her more and want to be close friends with her :)

Anon, I'm glad you can see something in me that reminds you of you. Hold on to that as proof that people like you are out there, and you probably have more things in common with all people than you might realize. Also, you will change. Things change. I'm not old but I'm older, and I can tell. When being a homebody gets boring, you'll become a social butterfly. When that gets stale, you'll become a homebody again. It's the way of things.

There's obviously tons of hate for this mod and I'm just gonna start this off by saying that I'm not crazy about it, but admittedly I think a lot of the reasons most people hate it kinda suck lmao.

Breaking this down and also putting it under a read more because like I said. Many thoughts. A few positive. A lot negative

Now I hear a lot of folks rag on her design in this mod but tbh? It's like my favorite part.

Design:

Like c'mon. This specific image was my PFP on fucking everything for like 2 years. It adds a bit to the original design without changing too much. I will admit however I'm not crazy about the crop top. Some folks claim that the mod over sexualizes her design because God forbid she has hips, an ass and a crop top but again I don't really see it?? It's not my favorite thing but c'mon, it's a crop top it's not a fucking gimp suit lmao.

I will admit in this outfit she feels less goth and more?? Alt?? I guess you could say?? Like again it sticks to the og design but it doesn't really have the vibes if that makes sense??

Another thing I surprisingly enjoy is RN's take on the penilians. Like most folks interpret them as humanoid and tbh? I like the more buggy look better.

The whole abdomen, thorax and legs part is kinda iffy?? Like the phase one design kept her design recognizable with minimal changes but this just feels a bit too far off.

I'll start this part off by admitting I don't know jack fuck about music theory or much like that but like. I do not enjoy 90% of the main mod songs. Possession is one of the better ones of the mix but even then the entire time I felt like I was waiting for some kind of drop that just?? Never came??

Music:

I really hate being negative here but oh my god. Oh my god. Takeover is so fucking bad. It isn't pleasant. At all. Especially in the UTAU update, like bestie that echo is not helping.

I feel like all of the songs in that mod had that same problem where something just felt missing?? Like the voice thingy she has is pretty good and I like that they changed up BF's voice in it but tbh that can only carry a mod so far. Like again I don't know much about music theory but it doesn't really feel like there's much of a rhythm? Like yeah some parts of songs repeat but not really in a fun way.

I will admit though the Ugh cover had me in a chokehold for like a year so. Points there I guess. But again all the original music is boring at best and absolute diarrhea at worst.

Look I could have forgiven the lore if the music was halfway tolerable but damn. This shit is not helping itself.

This mod was made before the April fools update and hot damn is it abundantly clear.

Ramen tried really hard to make Cassandra the good guy, and back in 2021 this was pretty unheard of. Like back then everyone blasted Cass enjoyers on fuckin sight lmao (some were fair, like yeah shooting up a school isn't good obviously. Some were pretty far off though. There was a time when pretty much half of the damn FNF fandom called her a nazi?? Like say what you want but she was pretty clearly anti-facist within the first few seconds of PS). But when he tried making Cass a good guy he kinda butchered the character.

Like the whole possession story arc isn't really easy to follow imo. Like okay the penilians are aliens in this mod. But they possess her like they're demons?? And when they possess her they make her shoot up a school.

In this mod her parents are Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest, it just doesn't really make sense that they'd make her shoot up a school and not literally anything else?? Like if they were wanting to just kill as many people as possible why did they possess some random teenager? Like why not possess some dude in the military or with some form of political power? The whole alien possesed thing just doesn't make sense. Plus after the events of Pico's school she just lives with the alien possessing her?? Like apparently PS takes places when she's like 17 and in the mod she's 23. Like holy fuck how has she not done anything else??

That and I'm not a fan of the whole family drama B plot. Like its a neat concept to make her GF's estranged sister but the whole reunion with Cass and DD just feels?? Clunky?? Awkward?? Like it's just not very elegant.

Look I'm not gonna go crazy deep into the drama here but what I will say is it was very clear Ramen was 17 when he made this mod, for better or for worse. He did a lot of dumb shit because he was a kid.

Some folks shit on him because he's trans and obviously that's just not fucking cool, but obviously that's not why I don't fully vibe with him. Like fucks sake I'm like vaguely nonbinary, I get that sometimes people are gonna be nasty to folks like us for literally zero reason.

Misc:

The whole mod has huge PicoxCass connections and again I don't really vibe with it. It's definitely not my favorite ship ever. Like obviously people can ship whatever they want but hot damn I don't wanna see it.

Cass does end up a little woob-ified in an attempt to make her redeemable. Like by all means theres a way to redeem her without making her personality unrecognizable. I feel like this story might have worked with an OC or something but the whole penilian thing just. Did not work in my opinion.

I used to fucking LOVE this mod back in the day but as I've gotten older and understood Cassandra's character a bit more I've sorta fallen out of love with it. Don't get me wrong the designs go hard to this day but some decent art won't save a mod with shitty songs, confusing story and a controversial creator.

You did seem appreciative of my first batch of L/Mello headcanons so I guess I'll give you a few more because I'm such a great mutual like that (is this gaslighting)

- I firmly believe Mello is a smoker or at least a drinker. Based on this idea, I bet Mello would've tried to get L to drink/smoke at least ONE time. Long story short: L damn near dies (he is NOT suited for either of those) and Mello spends the whole night trying to compensate for nearly killing his bf

- In the car they ALWAYS argue over what radio station to pick (Mello is probably a metal or rock enjoyer. L either does not like music or he prefers classical. A part of me wants to say maybe he likes some pop songs sung by women or all girl bands. OOH WHAT ABOUT L AS A SPICE GIRLS FAN). So, they either take turns with the radio station each car ride, or they just end up not playing the radio cause they can't reach a conclusion (They're both stubborn as hell).

- Mello borrows L's clothes constantly. L will have just gotten out of..his washing machine? Or the shower.. (Mello probably found the washer thing odd and just started forcing L to suck it up and take real showers. L wasn't happy but Mello is persistent), and he sees that Mello is just shamelessly doing whatever wearing L's shirt (bonus if he just ditches the pants or..anything else underneath. I feel like it'll only be so long before I border on kinky headcanons). L is mostly tolerant of this, and depending on his mood, he'll either just skulk around nude or he'll try and coax Mello into giving his clothes back (this gave me really suggestive fic ideas).

(i.e. is yakko fast talking and witty 100% of the time, unfazed by anything? or does have his moments where he’s caught off guard and fumbles with his words? or does he go completely head over heels and acts like a wreck around max? is max easily embarrassed and caught off guard by yakko’s antics? is he just a grumpy teenager that rolls his eyes and doesn’t take him seriously? does he get all lovey-dovey and makes a bigger goof out of himself?)

BOY do i have a lot to say about this. more under the cut!

i try to keep at least some elements of their canonical personality traits when i think about them, but tbh as a crackshipper i do enjoy writing max and yakko in ways i consider OOC. the more outlandish the AU, the more OOC. playing with characterization amuses me greatly, but here's what i consider as 'core' traits based on details from their respective canon appearances.

as individuals

yakko: sarcastic. quick-thinking. punny. dense to certain social cues. prankster. flirty. overly-familiar with strangers. inappropriate. irritating. prone to teasing others. thrives on attention. protective/defensive (as a brother and bf).

max: energetic. sporty, otherwise uncoordinated. friendly. typically laidback with a flair for the dramatic. (did you see how he tried to impress roxanne? lol.) mildly to majorly insecure. some anger issues. can be moody. a somewhat hopeless romantic. loves his dad but easily embarrassed by him. literally just some guy.

both: likely to mimick tropes, gags, and characters associated with their parent companies. may or may not be intentional.

i mix and match traits from various canons, downplaying or playing up to taste!

together/getting to know each other

anon your scenarios are majorly cute and i think under the right circumstances any of those could play out!

in my mind yakko is the initiator 80% of the time

max is a corny sentimental guy who is not great at flirting. he will however banter with yakko as easily as he would with anyone else (if he's not freaking out too much internally)

he would also try to look cool but fail catastrophically 80% of the time

max can and will embarrass himself, but yakko will probably find it adorable or funny regardless

yakko is used to surface level flirtation so any like actual deeper romantic feelings will make him an uncharacteristically sappy mess

max is more likely to do big disney-like romantic gestures. pre-relationship yakko wouldn't want to show how much it affects him, masking his internal melting with humor. established relationship/post-relationship yakko would be over the top or cartoony with his reactions.

yakko knows max's disney nature makes getting reactions very easy so he'll poke at that

bi panic/questioning max is A++ in my book

yakko's zaniness would probably tire max out at times. i foresee communication issues, especially because the warners are generally only close with each other? this is a major relationship hurdle in my mind the older they get

max is definitely the more phsyically affectionate... at first. it takes yakko time to adjust to long-term contact. once he does, yakko becomes incredibly touch-y. lots of hugs and cuddles and nose nuzzles. max loves it

these two are huge dorks and would be doing incredibly dumb teenage boy shit all the time. in old age too. i like to imagine over time max's friend goup and the warners would get together for cute and chaotic shenanigans

max and yakko would endlessly annoy one another by virtue of coming from such different backgrounds. they love hanging out regardless

chilling with the warners would bring out more of the 'WB' in max, while hanging out with max and co. would bring out more of the 'disney' in yakko

Lets be real Taylor probably offered to pay for the suite and he was like nope. Can you imagine if Taylor paid? all the news article saying how he's cheap?

for all we know they went halvsies and she’s reimbursed part direct to him like how tf would we know? Why does it matter? Why do we care how they deal with their finances??? He absolutely CAN afford it. He can’t afford spending upwards of a mil daily (Taylor tbh can lol) but he can do a big splurge on his biggest night of the year.

Again, given I’m in a relationship with an income discrepancy (not that my bf has Travis money lol or even fwiw Joe Alwyn money but he earns well) I’ve had a lot of convos about shit like this. He does pay more in terms of bottom line. But like beyond my household contributions (groceries, utility share, some of the reno costs) that doesn’t mean I haven’t taken us on a weekend away (I did, to a nice place, and I paid for everything except petrol because we went in his car and yes he offered to go halvsies at least but I said no) or that I don’t pay for dinners out (I’m actually likelier to pay for nicer ones because he likes to go out like twice a week for a meal and that gets a bit steep for me but I’d still be going out if we weren’t together so if we go somewhere nice I tend to pay) or that I don’t pay for all takeouts (which we do in lieu of meals out some weeks or if we’re both busy because he hates like dealing with the apps or the delivery people so I just do it) or that I don’t cover most of our streaming subscriptions (I had them before we moved in so like I just pay those). Where we’ve gone away and he’s paid for it, I try cover the meals as much as possible (unless he beats me to the bill). At the end of the day, I’m still paying significantly less but it’s not like I’m not trying and it works for us.

I also feel the need to justify it a lot though and I’ve had friends - especially female friends actually - assume he pays a lot more than he does towards me because income and age gap. A friend of mine is having a big birthday this year and wants to do a weeklong girls’ trip and I was like “that sounds amazing but I can’t really swing it because I wasn’t working for part of last year” and she was like “but didn’t he give you money??” and I was like “not like an allowance lol” and then she was like “well just ask him to cover part” and I was like “I don’t feel comfortable doing that at all” and she got really pissy with me so idk I’m further relating to all of the dudes Taylor’s dating who obviously can’t afford all that she can and where obviously she’s gonna pay more but like that’s really none of our business and I don’t think any of them want a free ride.

Travis can afford to pay for this suite for one night in a whole year. It won’t financially destroy him. The house he bought, similarly, was a good investment since he’s still got to be in KC for a couple years at least and generally property appreciates so idk man. If he buys a private island just for them I’ll be like “Travis dude chill” but rn he seems to be acting quite sensibly and if they move in obviously it won’t be 50/50 - Taylor will pay more - but that doesn’t mean he won’t contribute as far as he can.
