I'm sorry but the irony of Nico calling Max unprofessional is sending me so bad like sir there's an entire garage full of people, who were literally in the trenches trying to survive the Brocedes fallout while just doing their jobs, who might have a few things to say about your (& Lewis') level of professionalism at that time 😭✋️

#f1 #formula 1 #formula one #max verstappen #nico rosberg #lewis hamilton #brocedes #like niki lauda had to try multiple times to literally parent trap them to try and get them on speaking terms it never worked #because one would arrive they'd see the other and the other would leave #& if i remember correctly the garage crew would swap around from race to race as a like see we aren't favouring anybody gesture 😭#and thats no shade to nico because it was both of them contributing to that environment #his comment re max is just making me laugh #like if i was a part of the pr/media team - which is a part of the degree I'm working on irl - at merc that year i would've lost the plot #like its insane reflecting on it nearly a decade later but the poor souls just trying to do their job in the eye of that storm #truly gods strongest soldiers #ngl the professional comment irks me a bit because its not like max is engaging in inappropriate work place behaviour #he's engaging in another aspect of racing that his involvement raises awareness of & that makes racing more accessible #& we all know how inaccessible not only getting into racing is but also to continue to pursue the further along you go #theres so many stories of 1 sibling giving up racing so the other can keep going because the family can't afford for them both to race #its a huge financial strain & we only see a handful of drivers talk about that & try to do something to change it #and nicos fellow sky sports commentators are routinely unprofessional on so many levels #additionally max had a lot of valid reasons to be annoyed at his team today #but alas he's not english so he's ungrateful #i hate that drivers can't criticise their teams or car without immediately being branded as bratty & ungrateful #ESPECIALLY WHEN THEIR JOB IS TO GIVE FEEDBACK #you can see the double standards from sky when say Lando or George have complaints with their team/car v the likes of Max and Yuki #especially Yuki my god the things i would do to get the British media to leave him alone #this was a jokey post at one point and then became a rant whoops lmao #I'll leave it that before i write an actual essay here 😭✋️

low key i think to deny Riko's trauma is to deny his narrative importance in the story.

like Riko's trauma related to his father parallels neil's. His concept of brotherhood adds complexity to Andrew and Aaron's relationship. He acts not just as an antagonist but as a foil to other character's relationship to trauma and violence.

to solely view riko through the lense of his actions is to miss the point. He is a character in a story, not a real breathing human being.

#i don't know guys like i though we were having fun here #lets go back to making up literary motifs that are probably nonexistent in a self published book series thats basically a sports manga #i'll start #isn't it nifty that riko was abandoned by his father and then abused and ostracized by his guardian figure in a very similar way to neil #isn't it fun that riko was cast aside by his father for his brother just as andrew was cast aside by his mother for his brother #isnt it fun that aaron kills someone to protect his brother while riko's story ends with his brother killing him #love earned through death in both ways #isnt it fun that riko's hunt to be the best ends with his brother killing him in the same way he essentially 'killed' kevin #by smashing his hand #isnt it fun how riko is just as desperate for love and attention and belonging as everyone else #there is a story in which riko is saved and heals from his past in the same way every other character does #the fun part is that story exists yet it is not the story that is told #like come onnnnn #“riko is evil”#“rikos trauma isnt as bad as *insert character”#“riko did this - riko did that - bluh bluh bluh”#im boreeeeeeddd #gnat be quiet #riko moriyama

#dogblr #dog sports #anyway i finally got a dt launcher #ive been wanting one since mav was a baby #they arent even that expensive i just was too nervous to ruin my dog #(a dt launcher shoots a blank and launches a toy to teach gundogs how to retrieve and be steady to gunshot)#i am semi confident in my ability to work rory to it without ruining her #if i get it soon i can spend like 6 weeks making her wild about the toy it launches #indoors and in the city #and then once the snow melts it should be simple to introduce the shot #anyway im having field test dreams #but at the same time LOATHE many of the people involved #anyway #thats where im at #i did buy the launcher though so we'll see #semirelated: the person who got top rally brittany this year got huge praise from the breed club president #who refused to acknowledge that mav won it last year #it doesnt matter but it made me so sad #someone on the breed club told me how important it was that i stay involved and i push for change #but they lowkey broke my heart by being so mean about mav #cant handle me at my worst (beautiful perfect out of standard dog) dont deserve me at my best (beautiful perfect in standard dog)
