rating marauders (era) characters on how good they'd be for a group project

james: 6/10, he's secretly great at school so if you can motivate him, you'll do well. big emphasis on the "IF" though- he'd put in a lot of effort like the night before it's due when he's hit with the violent fear of disappointing his peers

sirius: 3/10, you'd have better luck trying to getting mcgonagal to laugh that get sirius to focus on school work. he'd prolly spend the entire time trying to flirt w the teacher to avoid being productive

remus: 8/10, would honestly put together such informative but yet entertaining project. points off for the slightly scary caffeine addiction and the fact that sirius and james don't let him out of their sight, and are constantly trying to distract him

peter: 4/10 he'd constantly ask you "is this good????" after writing like one sentence

lily: 9/10, would be perfect but if you jeopardize her chance for an A, she might end you

Loki always sends me spiders. Well the other day I was at my smoke spot on this little ledge by the water and I'm just enjoying the sun. I go to grab my phone to take a picture and a black widow was just sitting right by it. It went a little bit like this

"Oh cool, I haven't seen a spider like this before- nope. nope. I'm getting my ass back up. Literally why"

"Because it's funny. And I knew you'd be fine, and I wanted to see if you'd shoot up vertically like a cat when you saw it"

"Where did it go. Loki I swear if that damn thing is in my jacket I'll lose my fucking shit"

Re: your mental health comic - I hope, if any of those characters are based on real hallucinations youve had, that you don't have them anymore. You're a good person who doesn't deserve to be talked to like that.

Thank you so much for your kind words! The characters in those works are representations of actual hallucinations I’ve experienced. They were real nasty pieces of work, but I haven’t actually hallucinated one in a severe enough manner to talk to them in about… Shoot. Hang on, I need to think… 5-ish years now? I think? And the last time I did, I heard a brief sentence before I took some heavy-duty meds that knocked me out and took care of the hallucination by the time I woke up. I’ve gone through a lot of growth between now and then, and I’m now in a place where the only lasting legacy those losers have had is making me very good at abstract descriptions + personifications and self-reflection. Their cruel words are fuzzy and vague things that I barely remember.

Heck, I went through some old notes to remember some nicknames I gave them, and it was a blast from the past that I actually laughed at! They actually called me “less than worthless” to the point I internalized and verbalized it many times? Wow. That’s pretty cringe, guys. You spent your entire lives bullying a teenager. Cool. Now I love myself and forgot that was ever a mantra I recited at all times in my head.

I once had a project I was working on where I made a fictionalized autobiography set in a fantasy world starring a self-insert and these jokers. It was going to be a kind of field guide to hallucinations I experienced. I stopped working on it after a while because it was too painful for me to develop, as it was meant to dig deep into the pain and struggles I went through on a daily basis… and now I’m looking back at it and considering making it a humorous story about how ridiculous my hallucinations were— at least the ones with consistent personalities. Comedy equals tragedy plus time, truly.

I might end up posting some of the more solemn journal comics I made about these chuckleheads... It'd be weird to dig up my significantly older work, but I think it would do me some good and maybe be enjoyable / educational for others!

keep seeing the same take on tt about how the marauders characterisations are shit because of clothes reg wears or the way some people present janes in a ‘wrong way’ as if there was a right way to do it. this is fic. which people write for free and for themselves. if you don’t like characterisation in fics , fucking write one you DO like and stop hitting on the fic writers who write characters however they want.

Hi there!! I just started reading your BlackxRusset fics over on ao3 and I am absolutely obsessed!! Your characterization of the two is so good!! And I love your attention to details on the contorted mess of canon the erins gave us, and how you made it into such a coherent story. i absolutely hc Rowanclaw has Black and Russet's secret lovechild now.

Anyway, I was driving today and the song One Foot by Walk the Moon came on and I thought that it fit those two really well. Especially when they're just leaning on each other while ShadowClan is falling apart/being rebuilt under their rule ("I'm the king of nothing at all. And you're the queen of nothing at all" if you will). If I could draw well consistently, I'd love to make a little animatic of them to this.

And I actually really like that song! I've never related it to Black/Russet before but I definitely see where you're coming from, especially regarding that specific verse! A future title, perhaps!

(Also the fact that people go about their daily lives and hear or see things that remind them of my work is just. Mindblowing. Wow.)

I still think it's funny that, while I've been a tea drinker my whole life and admittedly a tea > coffee person... that was mostly southern iced sweet tea. Or sometimes iced green tea. I had tried warm tea, but I never really liked it . Of all things, it was reading Magnus Archives fanfiction and discovering an electric kettle in my kitchen wares that improved my tea making skills and helped me expand my palate for tea.
