As ridiculous it is that it takes video games w cult followings to introduce ppl to cab calloway and the ink spots... At least theyre getting paid attn to. Who do i have to bribe to put a frankie half pint jaxon in like the next indie darling game ? Also the way tht ppl will describe these black artists like theyre expecting a cookie for knowing thm n bringing up how jazz was sanitized n whitewashed ... Its weird. Like they memorized this one fact or person but nvr bothered to dig deeper like they have other interests

·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ WRITEBLR INTRODUCTION.
Tumblr media
I don't usually put myself out there as it makes me nervous. But I've been a lurker for way too long, and it's about time I step out of my comfort zone. So, hello! I'm Dee (she/her), twenty-two, and have found my voice with storytelling.
Writing has always been a passion of mine, and continues to be the tool I turn to when I need an outlet to freely express myself. I have, unfortunately, hit a rough patch with consistency, and I'm here to bring all of that motivation and inspiration back. Especially since there are one too many WIPs sitting on the backburner, and they're all calling my name.
As someone who loves to dip their toes into every genre of fiction, I will read anything that peaks my interest. However, when it comes to creating, my works usually fall under romance and mystery. With practice, I intend on branching out into other genres I don't write often. There's a lot to explore in the world of writing, and I don't want to limit myself to only two categories.
Creating this blog provides me the space I need to accomplish the many goals I often dream of achieving. I acknowledge that it all starts with the ability to hold myself accountable. To show up for myself. To become comfortable with the uncomfortable. Putting myself and my projects out into the world is only the first of many steps, and it feels quite liberating.
I aim to use the voice I've found to not only contribute to the progression of POC representation, but to touch on several topics that remain heavily stigmatized in today's media. There’s a joy that runs through my veins every time I see someone like me on my screen or in a book. I feel seen, heard, and proud. I feel important. But as a creator, there’s that itch that can only be scratched when I create. When I make something that lets the next person know that they’re not invisible. That they're valued, loved, and appreciated. That's what I hope for when someone reads a project of mine. For them to feel the same rush of joy flowing through them as it does me.
Wow, I’m a yapper. I'd like to close this intro off with some fun facts, so here are some of my top five favorites with sidenotes because I still want to yap a bit more about the things I adore.

star — p. gunwook
pairing: gunwook x gn!reader
synopsis: gunwook unfortunately loses his wallet. luckily for him, a good samaritan is kind enough to trace the address on his i.d. and brings it straight to his doorstep! too bad it’s his newly ex-best friend (post-dramatic confession of love).
word count: 3.6k
warnings: highschool!au, friends to lovers, hurt/comfort, BARELY proofread, jealous gunwookie, talks of falling out, misunderstandings, miscommunication, feat. seniors hanbin and seunghan (and eunseok), not to be taken serious this is just fiction!!
a/n: needed a break from writing that tattoo artist jiwoong au so i wrote this 🥸
Tumblr media
Gunwook’ s lost his wallet.
It’s no big deal! It’s not like his whole life is in there or anything: his money, I.D., credit and debit card, along with his ultra rare Twicecoaster Lane 1 devil Nayeon photocard— yeah, he’d be fine without them.
He only realizes when he get’s on the train home from school, reaching for the photocard for emotional support after the shit week he’s had until he realizes it’s in his wallet which definitely isn’t in any of his pockets right now.
He finally lets out what he thinks is a quiet ‘fuck!’ after patting his pockets down and emptying out his backpack for the third time, which ends up not being as quiet as he originally thought, if the looks from the elderly couple sat across from him are anything to go by.
A few hours go by, and he’s still mourning the loss of devil Nayeon— oh, and all that other stuff too, he guesses. To get his mind off of things, Gunwook thinks a game of Fortnite with his loving friends would do the trick. It’s twenty minutes after when their entire squad gets wiped out (and proceed to get emoted on) is when he retracts that whole idea.
“I’m positive those guys were like, ten year olds. Do you know how embarrassing that is?!” Hanbin’s voice comes from Gunwook’s headset, meshing with the groans of Eunseok and the laughter of Seunghan on the other ends of the call.
“Obviously, it just happened to us! And the audacity. of Gyuvin to leave when he’s the reason we lost. His aim is so fucking ass,” Eunseok speaks loud and fast into his mic, making Gunwook wince at the volume. He seriously needs to start putting his volume down as soon as Eunseok joins. “Why do we still play with him? No, seriously someone answer me, why do we still play with him? Can we replace him with Y/n? Matter fact, I’m calling them right now I can’t do this.”
Seunghan’s laughter comes to a halt the minute their name is mentioned, just like Gunwook’s breathing for a split second.
“Eunseok.” Seunghan says his name and it sounds like Eunseok’s movements come to a stop, the only sound being that of the classic lobby music and the occasional Ps4 notification.
“... Does Gyuvin not have shit aim? I mean, we all saw that.” he says, and Hanbin then decides it’s his turn to speak up. “Maybe don’t talk about Y/n right now.”
It’s only now that Gunwook realizes he hadn’t told Eunseok about the whole ordeal this entire time, and it’s evident in the way he gasps from the other end of the call. “Y/n?! The fuck happened with Y/n? Oh my God please don’t tell me I have to cut them off they’re so fun. Speaking of, we have plans next week on Thursday to this new—”
“Eunseok seriously shut the fuck up.”
“ ‘Kay I’m gonna go heat up my hot pockets.”
Gunwook feels bad since he’s kind of the reason why Eunseok got cursed out by Seunghan. He’ll make it up to him after the upcoming, full on expected pep talk from Hanbin.
“You two still aren’t talking?” he asks the same time Eunseok logs off, and Gunwook thinks that maybe he too can escape this if he leaves without a second thought. He then realizes that Hanbin can literally just call him after he leaves, so he decides to dish it out and get it over with, mumbling his next words. “Well they’re not talking to me.”
It sounds childish, but he wasn’t lying! “The phone works both ways, Gunwook.” he sighs, the sounds of him readjusting in his seat being heard before he’s continuing, “Was it that embarrassing?”
Gunwook forgets that he didn’t explain the extent of the situation to his senior, so it isn’t entirely Hanbin’s fault that he thinks that Gunwook is simply embarrassed, but he can’t help the groan that follows anyway. “It’s not just that. It’s- I can’t even say.”
It’s nothing personal, really— everyone knows that Sunghoon and Y/n used to go out (for a mere 5 months, so Gunwook doesn’t even care for real!). What people didn’t know was how they swore to Gunwook that they’d never get back with him, not even for a second, so when Gunwook finally realizes the feelings he has for his best friend and decides to do something about them (queue chocolates and flowers at the end of the school day), the last thing he expects to see is Y/n and fucking Sunghoon, holding each other in a warm hug, like they’d shrivel up and die if they were to part.
Gunwook wished that had happened to him when he walks into the empty classroom, the wrapping from the flower arrangement in his hands startling the two out of their tight embrace. They looked like a pair of deer caught in headlights, frozen in place as they watch Gunwook’s word die on his tongue, mouth agape as he tries to restore them.
“Sorry. Bad time.” it’s the only coherent thing he can manage to say before he’s making a beeline for the door, too embarrassed and upset to verbalize the rest of his thoughts. Never getting back together, huh? Gunwook’s feeling a lot of things in this current moment, but the one that sticks out the most is how utterly stupid he feels. It’s so intense it almost drives him to anger, but he’s on the train home before it can get to that point, free from the fear of them running after him.
He isn’t particularly proud of what he does when they text him almost immediately after the whole ordeal, only responding after he gets home.
Y/NN🔥🔥💕😘😇: omg i’m so sorry i totally forgot you asked to meet up
Y/NN🔥🔥💕😘😇: we were just talking
Y/NN🔥🔥💕😘😇: did you still wanna talk? where’d you go??

You:
yup
Y/NN🔥🔥💕😘😇: okay well then yeah they’re really pretty
Y/NN🔥🔥💕😘😇: she’ll really like them
You:
thanks 🙌
Okay don’t look at him like that. He had to save face! He feels bad as soon as he spews the lie out, but then he remembers the way his heart dropped to his ass at the sight of Y/n and Sunghoon hugging, and convinces himself that maybe this was for the best.
What Gunwook doesn’t expect are the two weeks that follow. To describe them in two words: extremely awkward. The following morning, instead of the two taking the train together like they normally do, Gunwook makes up some lame excuse about being late and ends up taking the longer way. They talk during the classes they have together, but it’s all stiff and feels uncomfortable, despite anyone saying anything about it. Going home is the same as the morning was, yet this time it was Y/n who couldn’t make it, saying they had to visit a relative after school.
It was always easy for the two to tell whenever the other was lying, but Gunwook wants to give them the benefit of the doubt, seeing as he wasn’t so truthful himself just recently. When the two do arrive home, there are no texts exchanged or calls that go on for hours on end like usual, and it makes Gunwook uneasy, but the feeling of being rejected without actually being rejected was more prominent in that moment, so he left it alone.
He didn’t know that the lack of communication on both ends would lead to them not talking at all, though! It didn’t help that he’d see them talking with Sunghoon again in the hallway only two days later, rubbing a reassuring hand along their arm, which then prompts him to talk with Eunchae during the period he knows he shares with Y/n. That day is what really set the tone for the rest of the week, he thinks; no calls or texts, passing each other through the hallways, and going home together came to a dead end. All the little things that made Gunwook not absolutely hate school were taken away from him, and he feels it’s partially his fault which made it suck even more.
It took his friends, including his seniors, only two days to realize that something was wrong, which is what’s prompted Hanbin to lecture him every chance he gets for the past two weeks.
“Well maybe you should text them anyway. I bet they miss you just as much as you miss them, right Seunghan?”
There’s absolutely no way Seunghan was listening in, seeing as he doesn’t answer til five seconds later when Hanbin clears his throat. “Oh! Yes, definitely.”
“What are you even here for.”
“Emotional support? I don’t know man, I just wanted to play Fortnite.”
“Seunghan.”
Seunghan whines at the disapproving tone of Hanbin’s voice, not sure how he got roped into being scolded alongside Gunwook. Hanbin’s just that good, he guesses.
“Ugh okay fine. Not gonna lie Gunwook, seeing you two not talking is really depressing, for all of us, and honestly super unsettling. Just tell them how you feel and maybe don’t lie to your crush about having a crush who isn’t actually your crush. How’d I do Hanbin?”
“Absolutely terrible. Please log off.”
Before Seunghan can defend himself against what Hanbin identifies as Useless Senior Syndrome™, there’s a steady knock coming from the front door, successfully getting Gunwook out of the lecturing. “Thanks guys, but I have to go.”
The two can barely bid their goodbyes before Gunwook is logging off, scurrying down the steps as the knocking increases in speed.
“I’m coming!” he half-screams. He knows it isn’t his mom because she always has her keys, so it’s okay that he raised his voice a bit. He honestly thinks it’s Yujin from next door, most likely wanting to borrow Gunwook’s switch again after he miraculously submerged his own into water. He swears to God if he doesn’t return it back on time again—
Oh. This isn’t Yujin.
What stood in front of him held waves of familiarity: one being the navy blue leather-skinned wallet he’d gotten gifted by a relative a while back, the one that’s been home to his ultra rare Twicecoaster Lane 1 devil Nayeon photocard for years now— and the other being the person he’s gotten to know over the past seven years, who’s favorite foods he’s mastered and whose voice he can point out in a room full of thousands. The one who sits through the same old episodes of ‘Haikyuu!!’ with him, despite already seeing them multiple times. His best friend, who he hasn’t talked to in over two weeks, over his own fears and insecurities, is now at his front doorstep with his wallet in their hand, face unreadable to Gunwook for the first time since they’ve met.
“You forgot your wallet in Ms. Chwe’s class.”
Ms.Chwe’s class; the last period that they share with each other, where he was too busy trying to avoid Y/n’s gaze so in turn chatted up anyone who’d listen, not paying enough attention to the wallet that was falling out of his front pocket. Gunwook can’t even feel relieved that his most prized possession is safe, nor can he think of a way to make it anyone else’s fault at the moment given that his (ex?) best friend, who he hasn’t even glanced at in 14 days, is standing at his door with it in hand.
‘What am I supposed to even say?’ The silence that follows after still isn’t as embarrassing as that cursed Wednesday two weeks ago, so he tried to avoid saying anything that may exceed that level. “Thanks… okay bye.”
Okay what the fuck was that. He almost slams his head against the door, but he thankfully doesn’t have to dwell on it for too long, as they’re speaking before he knows it.
“You seriously don’t wanna talk about this?” They say, and Gunwook doesn’t know why it shocks him— they’d always been the confrontational type when needed.
“What do you wanna talk about?” He thinks it’s a pretty valid question, given that they could be referring to multiple things, but Y/n apparently doesn’t think so, if the roll of their eyes were anything to go by.
“You can’t be serious. About how you’ve been ignoring me for the longest!”
“Wha- only because you’ve been ignoring me!”
“That’s what most people do when someone’s been ignoring them first, dumbass.”
Gunwook huffs, he almost forgot how stubborn the both of them could be. “This is going nowhere. Just- come inside.” He gives up, decides to be the bigger person and let them in, not wanting their first interaction in so long to be an argument outside his door. Also because Yujin can be quite the creep and likes to instigate arguments from his bedroom window (he knows this because they’ve done it together).
They make themselves comfortable on the couch best associated with movie nights and hot cocoa during winter break, sitting on opposite ends. The air feels stale, and Gunwook feels like he has to say something before he can let the silence linger any longer. “D’you want some wate-”
“What did I do to you?” he’s cut off, the voice quieter prior to it outside. They turn to face Gunwook with hands gripping both knees reassuringly and— are they crying? “I mean, I’ve been trying to figure it out for so long, but I can't think of anything. Was it the flowers? Did she not like them?”
Gunwook wants to wipe off the face of the Earth. Not only were they crying, but they were kind enough to consider the feelings of others while nursing their own, successfully breaking his heart, while also making him feel unfathomably shitty.
He’s by their side in less than a second, not quite sure what to do with his hands as he lets out a stream of ‘no no no’ and ‘please don’t cry’. They won’t even look at him this time either, opting out to facing the wall in front of them instead. “You didn’t do anything wrong, Y/n.”
“Then why won’t you talk to me?”
Gunwook sighs, finally deciding to rest his hands on his thighs. “I’m going to tell you, but you have to tell me why you were too, okay?” He asks and they nod almost immediately. “And you can’t laugh either. Seriously, I will kick you out.”
“I’ll walk out myself if you don’t spit it out already.” They attempt to say it threateningly, but they’re pouting and Gunwook hates how cute he finds it, considering their current circumstances.
“Okay I was getting there,” He can’t help the snark remark, and he half blames it on the fact that he’s about to do the thing that he never got to two weeks ago: confess his undying love for his best friend of over seven years to said best friend. Folding his hands atop his legs, Gunwook takes a deep breath, closing his eyes for a split second before opening them as he exhales.
“Those flowers weren’t for anyone but you.” He’s not facing them, he absolutely cannot right now, instead focusing his gaze on his now sweaty hands, but he still hears the hitch in their breathing— it’s as clear as day. “I was going to give them to you, tell you about my feelings, but then I saw you with fucking Sunghoon, and I- I don’t know. I just felt so embarrassed and stupid and angry, so I came up with that stupid lie,” He finally finds the courage to face them, looking up to find their eyes already on him. “I’m sorry.”
Silence follows, and Gunwook fully expects it, but fuck was it agonizing. His face is practically on fire and he doesn’t want to break eye contact because he wants to ‘assert male dominance’ or whatever the hell Eunseok was going on about that one time he gave advice absolutely no one asked for, but it’s getting harder as the seconds go by and he just might explode right where he sits.
“Gunwook. You’re not gonna believe this but I was talking to Sunghoon about you,” Oh thank God they broke the silence— but what did they say? “I wanted to know if it’d make things weird between you and him if I asked you out or something, since you two are on the same dance team. I was also asking for advice on how to do it, since I’ve never asked anyone out before. I was going to the day after, but then you said you wanted to confess to Eunchae and I got really upset, I didn’t want to see your face at all.”
It’s now Gunwook’s turn to stare in silence, his previous anxious feeling replaced with one that screamed ‘what the fuck is happening I can’t believe this is happening right now’.
“What.” It’s all he can manage to say at the moment— if he felt stupid before, it’s definitely hitting harder this time around. He was avoiding his crush (who also has a crush on him, apparently?!), his best friend, all over nothing. His cheeks are becoming hot again and he feels like crying.
In classic Gunwook fashion, he does the most rational thing he can think of at the moment and bows his head beside their lap, clasping his hands in front of it as he lets out streams of ‘I’m sorry’, catching them completely off guard.
“Get up! It’s fine Gunwook, seriously." They reassure him, but he doesn’t dare get up from his position, only raising his head ever so slightly. “You still like me? Even though I lied to you and made you cry?”
They seem to find humor in his current predicament, giggling as they move a hand to pat his head. “I shed one tear. And dude, I lied too. I’m sorry as well, I was just scared.” It’s said with earnest, and Gunwook can feel it through their gaze once he finally gains the courage to lift himself up, his confidence fully restored. “Okay if we’re gonna date, you cannot call me dude anymore.”
“Is this you asking me out for real this time?” A hint of amusement makes its way onto their face, lolling their head to the side as they ask.”
“Yes. Wait no.” The switch up visibly confuses them, even more so when Gunwook gets up from his seat, instructing them to ‘wait here’ as he runs to the kitchen, coming back with a single flower. “My mom wouldn’t let them go to waste. They’re in a vase and she’ll kill me if I take all of them.”
They laugh, both because Gunwook was so so sweet and because his mom really would kill him. “Will you go out with me?” He knows it’s short, but he could tell them all the things he likes about them over takeout, and he really wants to kiss them right now.
“That was lackluster,” They say as they snatch the flower from their hands, but their actions are words are laced with playfulness, and they contradict themselves when they move to embrace him in a warm hug. “But yes, since you asked so nicely.”
Gunwook almost shoves them away if it weren’t for how intimate the current moment was. He’s glad they can still play around after spending so much time apart from each other. “Shut up! I just wanted to kiss you already. Wait, would that be weird?”
They look up, contemplating it for a second before they look back at him with a shrug. “I don’t know, but you can give me a kiss on the cheek. The one that isn’t wet.”
He takes takes that as a win, holding their damp cheek in favor of landing a peck on the opposite. Then another on their forehead. And another on the same cheek, but in a different place. It soon turns to him showering them with kisses all over, causing them to fall back on the cushions as they begin to laugh, taking Gunwook down with them as he refuses to stop. “Gunwook! I said one!”
He doesn’t even have the mind to grace them with an answer as he joins them in laughter, too overjoyed and buoyant with that fact that he’s now free from many things; free from hiding his feelings, from his insecurities now that their feelings were laid bare and are mutual, and free from pretending that he was okay letting his best friend falls into the hands of another. He no longer has to worry about any of that though, as they’re right where he wants them, where he deems perfect.
Tumblr media
The cafeteria is booming as always, Gunwook and his friends (seniors and same-age mates alike) already seated at their table as they await the arrival of a few others. None of them say anything about the way Gunwook and Y/n are holding hands under the table, but there are definitely shared glances exchanged between Hanbin and Seunghan.
It’s only been two days since Gunwook’s actual successful confession, and they still have yet to say it outright, so they’ve just decided to let everyone come to their own conclusions. He thinks they’re on the right track though, with the way they shot him a thumbs up from across the table.
“Y/n!” It’s yelled from behind them, making the entire table, if not the whole cafeteria turn their heads to the source of the noise. Gunwook wishes he could say he was surprised as to who it was.
Eunseok practically tackles Y/n with the force in which he runs to their side, engulfing them in a hug from behind. “I thought I was gonna lose you! Don’t tell Gunwook, but you’ve always been my favorite junior.”
“I’m right here.”
“Shut up dont ruin this for me.”

This is based off of a conversation I had with my roommate and boyfriend months ago. Idc if these are accurate- these were just our headcanons! This took me all damn day to write, so I hope it’s…at least decently good!:]
Tumblr media
Simon “Ghost” Riley:
Bands: Shinedown, Theory Of A Deadman, Seether, Three Days Grace, Saving Abel, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Drowning Pool.
Top 5 listened to songs: Rx(Medicate), 45 , Just Like You , The Vengeful One, California Dreaming
In his younger years, he definitely would have joined in mosh pits at concerts. If he tried that now? God he’d be leaving out of that venue with a headache, body pains and more bruises and scars on him than when he arrived there. Because of this, he prefers to sit a fair bit away from the stage, but in the middle so he can see the whole stage.
Soap makes fun of him for it, making comments like it, “Ah cannae decide if ye're tryin' tae be somebody's faither, or if ye're just actin' like Price. Come on, LT, get wi' the times. Ye're no an auld man like Price just yet.”
But don’t let that fool you- Ghost has definitely influenced Soap’s music taste. Soap just won’t admit it.
Bonus!: Ghost would listen to…well, Ghost. Why? “‘S my name, ain’t it?”
Tumblr media
John “Soap” MacTavish:
Bands: Twenty One Pilots, One Republic, System Of A Down, Måneskin, Limp Bizkit, Green Day, Blink-182, Weezer, Fall Out Boy, The Offspring, Games We Play.
Top 5 most listened to songs: Coffee’s For Closers, Get A Job, Fairly Local , Beverly Hills , What’s My Age Again?
Had a pop punk phase he never grew out of, and was definitely a teenage dirtbag(🥁).
His whole reality breaks when he overhears a recruit call any of the late 2000s/early 2010s bands he listens to “vintage”.(Price and Ghost just laugh and tell me he’s too young to feel that way.)
Really fun at concerts surprisingly. He always tries to be in the pit at the concerts for his favorite bands, and goes WILD if he gets noticed by an artist he really likes.
Price, Ghost and Gaz don’t really understand why he likes the music that he does.
Bonus!: When Gaz listens to Kanye, he’ll blast Taylor Swift just to fuck with him. He doesn’t like Taylor Swift, he just likes to see Gaz get frustrated. “You know she’s only popular ‘cause of ‘im, right Soap?” “Ah dinnae care. Ah juist like te disturb yer peace, Gaz.”
Tumblr media
Kyle “Gaz” Garrick:
Bands: Arctic Monkeys, Rihanna, The Neighborhood, Kanye West, The Weeknd, Shaggy, Dr.Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Hozier, The Cardigans, Beyoncé.
Top 5 most listened to songs: It Wasn’t Me, Reflections, Love The Way You Lie, Knee Socks, Dark Times
God he’s a certified lover boy AGH-
Imagine: Gaz waking up in the early hours of the morning, sunlight on his skin, looking fine as hell…and “It Wasn’t Me” is playing on the radio AAAAAA-💕(like a damn scene straight out of a movie I swear-)
Gaz likes going to concerts and like Soap, will try to be front and center, but he’s not nearly as energetic and wild. He’d more than likely mellow out with some fruity drink.
Before Gaz joined 141, back when he was an officer, he would definitely make whoever was his ride along listen to Rihanna or Beyoncé in the early hours of his shift. Now when he’s on missions with 141 and he’s in control of the radio, he’s more likely to play Kendrick Lamar or Kanye West, much to Ghost and Price’s annoyance. Soap is the only one who doesn’t complain.
Bonus!: Surprisingly, Gaz is open to listening to any kind of music, even if he doesn’t like. Once sat down with Ghost in the common room and let Ghost show him the music he listened to. Obviously, he wasn’t a fan of it, but he appreciated it nonetheless. “Sorry, ‘s just not my style. But thanks anyways, Lieutenant.”
Tumblr media
Captain John Price:
Bands/Artists: Guns ‘N Roses, Metallica, Kiss, AC/DC, Twisted Sister, Ozzy Osbourne, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Rolling Stones, Mötley Crüe, Ramones, Post Malone(there’s a reason for this, stick with me-)
Top 5 Most Listened To Songs: Seek & Destroy, Rock You Like A Hurricane, Dr.Feelgood, Sunflower, Street Fighting Man
Headcanon(Thanks to my boyfriend): 141 had a movie night. Soap and Gaz wanted to watch Into The Spiderverse, which Ghost and Price agreed too(reluctantly). Price really liked the song Sunflower, and after the movie, Gaz and Soap sat down with Price and showed him more of Post Malone’s music. He’s not a huge fan of the rest of his music, but he does really like that song.
Price’s music taste hasn’t changed since he was younger, still listening to the same bands he listened to in the 80s. Definitely gets somewhat upset when he sees someone his age wearing a shirt of the band but can’t tell him any songs by the artist.
Doesn’t go to concerts anymore unless the team wants to go. Would prefer to go to a bar and listen to music while getting drinks with his mates.
Bonus!: Price is the type of guy to look at people who don’t listen to his kind of music and ask, “Oi, lads, who sings this?” “Eh...Ah havnae a clue...Guns N Roses?” “Metallica, Cap’in?” “No, ‘s definitely Kiss.”In reality, he already knows who’s singing it, and they’re all wrong.
Tumblr media
Commander Phillip Graves:
Bands/Artist: Morgan Wallen, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Bruce Springsteen, Florida Georgia Line, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Big & Rich, Jason Aldean, Sam Hunt, Luke Combs, Toby Keith, Alabama, Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Top 5 most listened to songs: God’s Country, Save A Horse(Ride A Cowboy), She’s Country, Dirt On My Boots, Should’ve Been A Cowboy.
What can I say? Southern man loves country music.
He’s not allowed to go to concerts anymore due to the fact that he has gotten drunk on several occasions & had to be escorted out:(
He had a crush on Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood at some point in his life and I won’t explain how I know that.
Makes the Shadows listen to his playlist when out on missions to the point where most of them could easily identify what country artist is who.
Bonus!: Absolutely hates any non-country artist who tries to make country music. Like when Beyoncé released Texas Hold ‘Em, he was absolutely livid.

in the beginnings of the loops, minecraft is a bonding experience for the three. heart has the eye of an artist, and the shit he builds looks straight out of a fairytale, especially if you have shaders on (which he always does, a million of them). he prefers creative, because it gives him access to blocks that would take far too long to get enough of in survival, and because after a few times of dying after falling off your 100-block wall and having to climb all the way back up, you get tired. he's a little slow at it, but not because of lack of experience, but because he needs to make sure every single block is perfect.
mind is the redstone guy, and has almost half of the minecraft wiki memorized by heart (ha). he really likes those brutal building aesthetics, so it's all stone and some blue thrown in. however, he is a god at redstone. it's not even funny at this point - you could ask him to build a working calculator and he'd do it. he doesn't look at youtube or sites while doing his builds, unless it's am extremely rudimentary tutorial on how something works so he can utilize it. after his builds, though, he'll scroll through hours of videos, fascinated and taking mental notes to use later. he has locked soul in a pandora's vault-esque (dsmp reference i'm so sorry) before, and would do it a million times over. he also plays in creative, but only because it gives him more space to be methodical. not because he's too focused on logic to try and deal with the twenty zombies and two skeletons on his tail. totally. (/s)
soul is the little warrior, constantly in survival and terrorizing their worlds. his bases are lacking, dirt houses and holes in the grounds, but they do their job, and he's constantly on the move. while heart and mind build, he's out there grinding, getting stacks of netherite and an insane amount of pet chickens. once heart is done with a build he likes, he'll invade it and dump some of his supplies before moving on.
heart and mind, though their building styles are opposite, would sometimes work together and create castles that were beautiful and detailed enough to satiate heart's taste, and stoney and mechanical enough to satiate mind's. they would also hunt down soul for fun, obviously, despite the promise that soul will grief their builds afterwards. heart gets immediately attached to every single animal he sees, whether it be a horse or a sheep, and pulls out nametags to give them all names. he begs mind to move his pets into his one specific world where he keeps all of them, and while at first mind is insistent that that's not possible, he eventually manages to figure it out, somehow. he claims it's so heart stops pestering him, but we all know how true that is.
then comes cacophony. the little block game goes dim, their builds and experiences rot and fester, forgotten. at first, they were even used as leverage, though as time went on, even that stopped. mind is too busy playing king to bother touching his computer, soul is tired and lacks motivation, and heart is quite literally blind.
then comes concord. soul, desperate for a break from the two after a loop of no motivation, boots up minecraft. mind, bored, does the same. they join each other, and it quickly spirals back into what it was pre-cacophony; stupid antics and detailed builds.
heart feels excluded, since he can't play anymore, especially not in his way of creative building. he can still visualize his castles and everything he used to make, he can still make up new ones on the spot with intricate detail, and he itches to build them, to bring them to the world.
one shy request later, he sits at mind's side, dictating, block by block, how to build his newest idea, thankful for mind's logicality and ability to follow directions for once. that becomes the new norm - if mind is in a good mood and not busy, heart will flop into his room, drape himself across the bed, dictate a build, then bring himself right up to the screen to see (through what he can) if it at least looks right enough. and, because deep down, mind isn't a monster, he follows the instructions as best he can, not daring to change a block unless told to, trusting of his third's artistic genius. as they play, mind will mention when a stray animal wanders by, and more often than not, heart will immediately demand that mind get a nametag, and mind begrudgingly obliges.
they're so stupid

since you are going on a road trip…road trip with lip…where he insists on driving and you feed him his snacks as he drives, him letting you blast your music, jokingly asking for (and receiving if he’s lucky) road head, trying not to laugh at his road rage, stopping at little diners and gas stations and you both are just soooo happy to be stuck in a shitty car together -🌟
lip insists on driving because he's fearing for his life. he's a classic go-down-with-his-ship kind of captain. that's if he's the one at the wheel, if he could prevent the accident and the anxiety that seems to grab ahold of you driving, then he will do so. it also may have to do with his own anxiety about leaving so far from home. you have plenty of instances to poke fun at his road rage
he earns a few scolds from you when his glances away from the road towards you become full-on stares lasting longer than five seconds at a time. so, when you offer him snacks, he's an ass about it. he sticks his tongue out the side of his mouth, his eyes glued to the windshield ahead as you deliver gummy worms, about a handful with each turn, and he thinks that maybe you two should've picked up some grapes before leaving. it would make this image much more interesting.
he loves hearing you sing. it's the reason he's let you be the road trip's dj. whether it's good or bad, it keeps him awake after long hours of driving. your voice soothes him. it racks up his energy. it's worse for him if you're not yapping his ear off about musical artists and their alleged drama he pretends not to give a fuck about.
"i'm bored with the music," you pout.
"wanna blow me?" he cheekily replies. there aren't many options in this car currently for entertainment. he's half-joking.
only, he gulps hard whenever you lean over the center console, adjusting your seat back to get comfortable. he spares a flicker of his eyes down where your head leans in and your hands run up his jean-covered thighs.
"i was kidding-"
"watch the road, smartass."
he does. he has to stop, however, a few minutes in because he almost careens into a semi-truck, and instead of relenting, your brazen swallow and increased suction leave him no choice. he pulls to the side of the road, his head rolling back into his seat, hips sinking outwards. it's a good thing the car's in park. his right foot stomps on the accelerator, engine revving as he sputters your name and presses his palm into the back of your head to spill down your throat.
"you set us behind twenty minutes," he mumbles as he catches his breath. his cock is half-hard, left out while you swipe your thumb along the corner of your mouth and sit into your seat.
he's unsure if it was your eyes being all glassy or you saying, "we could make it fifty," but he winds up scrambling into the backseat with you regardless and your eta is postponed by an hour.
every stop affords him a moment to stretch his legs. he window shops the gift knick-knacks in the gas stations with you. he sits on the outside of the booth you sit together in inside of restaurants, sandwiching you between himself and the wall as his arm stretches along the back of the seat above your shoulders. it's thigh to thigh as you eat together. he lets you have a piece of his bacon and you let him have a piece of your fruit. he tastes like strawberries when you steal a kiss from him after.
lip's fine with never getting there at this point. it's taking a century. but those 100 years of waiting, stuck with you for a prolonged period, yeah. a century on the road is just fine with him.

Darren Criss' San Francisco Spots
Darren Criss loves sharing music and places with a sentimental meaning. The award-winning actor and singer takes a trip down memory lane and shares all of his favorite places in his hometown, plus he curated some spots he's loving right now.
Amoeba Music I’m probably the last generation of people growing up going to record stores and buying albums. Amoeba was such a fun place to go to. It was like an exclamation point on my hang-out day in the Haight. I loved going there, checking out albums, and listening to as many as possible. You could scan the bar codes and check out the music. There were always a lot of great artists coming through. It was a cool place to hang out, being around music and record people."
Wasteland "Haight-Ashbury has all these great vintage stores. I really got into vintage clothing when I was a teenager. I remember I bought some bell bottoms here that I thought were really cool. I used to wear those at school, and I was like, 'Man, I'm so hip.' I love Wasteland."
The Alembic "This spot opened after I left San Francisco, but when I go back to the Haight, I love to stop by here. As a cocktail bar owner, I’m pretty choosy about cocktail menus, but they have a great one. I pay a visit every time I’m in town."
Golden Gate Park "Golden Gate Park is very dear to me. I’ve enjoyed going there recently as Outside Lands is now a fixture of the city. I loved going to the park for runs. I had soccer games and practice there, too. I’ve just had a lot of fun here walking around all times of the year. I love when it’s foggy and cold, and you have to dress up warm for a walk. I have a Pavlovian reaction when I smell the eucalyptus trees in the park. I have a very strong connection to the place."
Japanese Tea Garden "One place in particular that I’ve always loved in Golden Gate Park is the Japanese Tea Garden. My wife and I are big Japanese culture fans. We taught ourselves to read, write, and speak Japanese during the pandemic, so it’s a big part of our life. I’m a fan of Japanese gardens, and I’m a big tea drinker, so it checks all the boxes for me. It’s a beautifully curated, traditional Japanese garden. It’s a peaceful place to have a contemplative moment in the park."
Marina Green "When I was younger, we lived in the Marina, and I spent a lot of time with my parents at Marina Green—going for runs and doing stuff with my dad. My dad was a big runner. He always loved it there."
Crissy Field Center "Crissy Field is a special place to me. I used to ride my bike here. In fact, it’s where I learned how to ride a bike. This park was fun for us because, obviously, our last name is Criss. So it became ‘Hey, this is our field,’ where we could ride our bikes. It’s an old abandoned landing strip for planes. They’ve transformed it into this really beautiful nature reserve in the past twenty years. A lot of the natural wildlife is coming back to the area, and it has completely been revitalized."
Bourbon & Branch "I recently did the Hedwig and The Angry Inch musical on Broadway, and then I did its tour. I first got into the musical when I was growing up in San Francisco, so I would be remiss not to do it in my hometown. We were stationed at the Golden Gate Theatre in the Tenderloin, and there’s a cocktail bar close by that I’m particularly fond of. You can have a quiet drink there. It’s especially nice after a show when I don’t want to use my voice too much. It’s my idea of the perfect cocktail club."
CreoLa "CREOLA is another newer spot I’m very fond of. It’s a great cajun, New Orleans–style seafood restaurant. My wife and I got married in New Orleans, and we love that city. I just stumbled onto this place when I went here for Sunday brunch. They had a lovely dixie jazz combo playing, which was such a nice treat. I had a delicious crab benedict here—one of the best I’ve ever had."
The Music Store "My brother and I grew up getting a lot of music from The Music Store. We were really into bluegrass. My brother is a banjo player, and we’d go see a lot of local folk and bluegrass bands there. Shelby was the guy that ran the store, and I was always fond of him. You know, even at that point, I realized that having a mom-and-pop record store was special. I hope it can live on forever."
Great American Music Hall "Every Sunday, I’d check the datebook in the SF Chronicle and look for great shows to go to when I was growing up. I saw one of my first concerts at the Great American Music Hall. I saw Phantom Planet open for American Hi-Fi there. I must have been 14 or 15 years old. Phantom Planet is a band that I've continued to love throughout my life. I even ended up playing with them, so the Great American Music Hall has a special place in my heart."
Stonestown Galleria "I spent a lot of time here, particularly during the holidays because that's where I did all my last-minute Christmas shopping. I went to Good Guys for electronics, cool walkmans, portable CD players, and Tower Records to look at records and buy cool stuff there. The mall was a one-stop-shop for my brother and me during the holidays. And, we'd go to the food court, get a hot dog on a stick, and go see a movie."
Seniore's Pizza "San Francisco is not a party city. It can be hard to find late-night eats. The only place that you can get a pizza after a night out somewhere is Seniore’s Pizza. It’s a place where you can find a bunch of young kids trying to squeeze in a pizza right before the whole city closes. It’s definitely a fixture for local San Francisco kids."
Submarine Center "Submarine Center is hallowed, sacred ground. It’s in the ‘last meal’ kind of category for me. The sheer ecstasy that I have going into that little room and having one of the best sandwiches in the world is something that I do wish upon everybody in the world. Whatever sandwich you pick from the menu, it's going to be delicious. Submarine Center is a big leading player in the show of my life."
Philosophers Club "If you want to live like a West Portal or Sunset kid, you hit up this dive bar next to Submarine Center. But if you’re one of the homies, you’d call it the Philly Club. So if you ever want to get a sandwich and hit the Philly club, tell 'em Darren sent you!"

do you have one silly or random headcanon for every char? 😆
Jaehee's got a popular fan-account for Zen that nobody except Saeyoung knows about. This is to be expected, but, the silly part happens to be Zen's interacted with her account before because she's one of the most respectful fans and he's got no idea that it was Jaehee of all people! She's passionate and people can see that. She's got scathing essays for his defense that are annotated and dated so she can reference them later on.
Zen's got a collection of songs he uses just for his runs. It's exactly what you think it is. A cheesy work-out set of songs meant to make him feel like he's in a movie montage. Hey, it works, don't give him a silly look! It helps him feel inspired!
Yoosung has a collection of hair clips. He may not like being called cute by the other RFA members because it makes him feel like they think he's little kid, but he does enjoy feeling cute when it's a sincere compliment. He'll love it if you compliment his new hair clip! He's got so many of them... and the ones he wears at school are different than the ones he wears at home.
Jumin knows more memes than he lets on and he purposefully uses them in the chatroom to flabbergast the others. It's funny to him to see his friends stare at him in horror because they didn't realize he'd learned about that particular meme. Nobody will believe it, but that happens a lot.
Saeyoung is in the process of making trampoline shoes that can shoot you to the moon. It's impossible, but it's impressive that he found the motor to help him jump a few feet in the air. Think of the old Moon Shoes advertisement, but now imagine he's taken that idea twenty stories taller.
V's cactus collection has accessories. He gives them sunglasses and hats and charms. They've got names, too. Sometimes, he wishes he could be a better friend to others just as he's a good caretaker of his cacti. He vents to his plants a lot, too. I don't know if this is silly, but... it helps.
GE Saeran takes things at face value. If you tell him something he will assume you mean it literally until he double-checks the information. It matters to him because he wants to believe people when they try to teach him something important to them, but sometimes this means he ends up believing something that isn't true. But, he enjoys hearing these things, and marking them down on paper. Especially if it turns out they're superstitions or something special to you.
Rika loves arts and crafts. She loves scrap-booking most of all. She makes homemade cards for everyone because it feels like she's got something personal that speaks to her compassion for her friends. It is a mess of glitter, puffy paint, and stickers. Nobody has the heart to tell her that her artistic vision is a maximalist nightmare to clean up. But, she has fun.
Vanderwood is a hula-hoop champion and nobody will ever believe you if you tell them.

Down the Rabbit Hole Chapter 8
Chapter one here, two here, three here, four here , five here, six here, seven here,
Pairing: Walton Goggins x You
Rating/Warning:  As always minor get out. Back to angst, this whole chapter is pretty angsty, some emotional damage, melancholy, self-doubt, self hatred, and almost no Walton (I am sorryyyy) It will get better I promise.. maybe..
Synopsis: Working in film as a make-up artist is hard enough, but then Walton Goggins requests you, well it's way too easy to fall down the rabbit hole.
Note: they are both single, all for fun.
I think I may have an ending now. Posts will continue to be 2-3k long. Every other day more than likely. The whole fic will be around 30k words.
You wake up to an empty bed, you frown and look around. Disappointment seeps into your skin at not getting morning cuddles from the man who had you screaming his name last night. The door is open a bit and you can hear Walton talking. Getting up you grab the shirt and pants, that had started last night’s shenanigans, from the ground slipping them on quickly. You open up the door and walk down the hallway, peaking into the kitchen Walton is sitting at the table. Tablet in front of him, glasses perched on his nose, brows furrowed as he talks into the phone.
“I am a little preoccupied, can it not wait?” He speaks into the phone, rubbing his hand against his forehead.
You slip in and grab a cup filling it with water, before going to the table. Sitting across from him you can see that he is scrolling through a lengthy email. The water is cool, and your throat a little raw from the evening before. You can feel the material of your shirt rubbing against your fresh bruises.
“Okay, okay,” Walton grumbles a frustrated sigh coming out. “Yes, I will be on the plane, I’ll be in LA in a few hours.” Your heart sinks a little, realizing he is going to be leaving. A feeling of dread spreading across your sternum, as you wait for him to finish his conversation.
“Have you called production as well?” He asks, eyebrows raised, throwing his hand up, “Okay. Yes, I know it's important. I actually had plans this weekend. Yes, I know you tried to get a hold of me, but the day before seems a little short notice?”
His shoulders slump and he leans back against the chair, staring up at the ceiling hand on his head, “Yes, I will be downstairs in twenty.”
The phone gets dropped on the table, the tablet switched off, his eyes looking at you. Running his hand through his hair he lets out another sigh. He looked tired, his usually sparkling eyes a little dim. The man’s usual endless energy smothered into a whiff of smoke.
“I, unfortunately, have to go to LA, Leo will be here to pick me up in twenty minutes,” He groans and reaches out to take your hand. “If there was any way around it I would stay.” You squeeze his hand, trying to reassure him and yourself.
You were looking forward to the weekend with him, but your mind drifted to the conversation from last night. His life was unconventional, he was going to be on the move a lot. If you couldn’t deal with that, then you shouldn’t have started down this road to begin with.
“It’s okay, I know you’re busy man,” You say putting a smile on your face, even if it hurt now, you where determined to at least give it a shot. “I will get an Uber set up and get my things.”
“If you want to stay here you’re more than welcome,” He says softly, and as much as you want to stay in this beautiful space you know it would be better to go home.
“No, I am good.” Letting go of his hand you stand up, and he follows after you as you go back to the bedroom.
His hands find your hips and he turns you around to face him. “Hey, hey,” You can’t look at him in the eyes. Walton’s fingers tip your head up, and you try to keep yourself from getting emotional. “This was never the plan. I know it’s not ideal, and if I could convince my agent to fly you down with me I would.” You almost hate him for knowing you so well, the way he crawled underneath the careful mask you created. The fact that you let him in so easily.
You shake your head, “I knew what I was getting into. Get ready to go or Leonard is gonna be up my ass about it.”
A small smile crosses his face and you kiss him gently before you strip out of the borrowed clothes stepping into last night's. You gather things up from around the room slipping the belt around your waist. A smile crosses your lips remembering both of you running around the room like lunatics. The thought that you would get to do that again helps keep you going forward.
Walton has a small bag he is stuffing things into. He looks flustered, hair standing on end face flushed as he disappears into the bathroom. He mutters under his breath as grabs a power cord. You grab your phone dig into the apps to find an uber, happy when you see one is less then five minutes from you. Going over to him you tap his shoulder, he turns to you his deep eyes looking you over. That heat pooling in your guts as you meet his, and if both of you didn’t need to be on the road in five minutes you’d be get him out of that shirt again.
“I am gonna head out,” You say quietly, hand coming up to rub against his stubble. “Message me when you can okay.”
He leans against your hand eyes closing, turning his head to kiss your palm. “I will, as soon as I land and over the next few days.”
You nod, moving forward to give him one final kiss before you leave. Heart sinking to your feet as you close the door behind you, all you want to do is run back. To tell him you’d figure out how to come with him, anything just get anothe day in.
***
“So, come on tell me all the details,” Trevor all but bounces through the phone.
“If I wanted you to know the details of my sex life I’d invite you to join,” You chuckle, as you dig through your mostly empty fridge.
“Well, I am sure Walton wouldn’t mind that much,”
“Oh please, then again he did bite me. Also the belt.”
“Did he spank you?” Trevor squealed into the phone.
“Well not really, he slapped my ass with my belt.” You flush remembering the exchange, the absolute glee on his face.
“Oooh, you two are going to be a problem. Should have known he has a kinky side.”
“Hush, we are both professionals, I haven’t heard from him since he left this morning.”  You can hear the hurt in your voice. As much as you’ve tried to avoid it not hearing from him since you left had started to cloud your mind.  Your fingers tip tracing over the marks on your collarbone, a stark reminder of what had transpired.
“Oh,” Trevor says, you can hear his voice soften, “I am sure he is just busy. He will get back to you.”
“I am sure he will,” But that cloud of doubt has already crept in. You know he is busy and probably is going through a laundry list of things to do. But it still hurts that he hasn't texted you back. You could phone him, text him again, but you also didn’t want to push things. The last thing the man needed was a clingy girlfriend. Where you even that? Was it just a fling for him? Pushing that away you tell yourself its best if you let it be, he would get back to you.
“Now, now, don’t get in the dumps girly. That man is smitten all over you,”
“Well wasn’t all over me, thought I might have to try that” You giggle trying to change the subject.
“Oh you’re nasty,” Trevor says gleefully.
“Not yet, but I have a feeling that may change,” You smile, a little spark of hope in your mind. “I am looking forward to Monday.”
“If you can believe I will be too! Want to see how flustered I can get both of you,” Trevor cackles into the phone.
The two of you chitchat for a few more hours before you say goodnight. You sit at your small desk slash dining table looking at your wall of artwork. Your heart was heavy, you flipped your phone open scrolling to see anything. But there was nothing. Putting your phone face down on the table, you debate if you should eatt. It would likely have to be take out as the fridge was bare. The thought of food made your stomach turn, maybe it was best to just have another cup of coffee.
***
The water from the shower spilled heavily over you. You sat in the bottom of the shower tears mixing with the water, snot had long been wiped away. You shiver slightly even with the steam. You knew sitting here wasn’t going to help anything, but you also didn’t want to go out there. Here the pounding water and stingy heat stopped your mind for a moment. Stopped it racing over all the what-ifs of the world. You couldn’t face another blank screen, scrolling through all the unanswered texts. Why did it hurt so much? You had excused Saturday, but then Sunday came. An email from Liz. Saying Walton wouldn’t be in Monday, but that you would be assisting FX with their work. Normally you’d have been happy to help FX, and get a chance to show some of your skills. But knowing that Walton wouldn’t be there and wasn’t answering his phone made your heartache. You had heard how people died of broken hearts, how their hearts just gave out. Was that what this felt like, to feel your heart pounding at your chest with grief?
You tried so desperately to let go of Friday night. The weeks of flirting, the feel of him touching you, the date at the sushi place and long night on the beach. The way he had and kissed you. Maybe you were jumping to conclusions, but hearing nothing from him felt like a nail in the coffin. You had seen a few photos and interviews of him, promoting his latest released show. He looked happy and cheerful, answering questions with his quirky smile. Your fingers running over the marks that still covered your chest. Pressing on them to feel a slight amount of pain that numbed the hurt.
“So stupid,” You mutter under your breath, dragging yourself from the floor of the shower. You turn the water off and grab a towel drying yourself off in the humid room. You rub at your scalp trying to scrub memories out of your mind. Purposefully avoid the mirror so you didn’t sese the memories of Friday.
You don’t bother getting dressed just crawling under the covers. You set an alarm for tomorrow and plugged your phone in. Facing it down against the side table. You curl up under the covers more tears coming out.
“Go out for two dates, and you’re laying here blubbering like you're sixteen.” You curse at yourself. “It’s enough. You knew it wasn’t going to end any other way. Let it go.”
***
Monday morning comes and you are downing a redbull and breakfast burrito. You don’t bother talking with Trevor, just shooting him a look of ‘please let it be’. You are grateful he doesn’t push the matter, instead, you get your hands deep in fake blood. Helping FX set up the dead bodies and crime scenes. Just happy to have a reason not to look at your phone. You briefly contemplate turning it off entirely. But leave it on just in case, in case of what you weren’t sure. What excuse could he have had for ignoring you for nearly three days. Your jaw hurts from clenching iit so much. You rub against it, fingers moving down to the mark on your collarbone. You still had marks, the thought made vomit sting in the back of your throat. Something had to be wrong here, you walked over to your chair and sit. Trying to hold back the emotions that were threatening to pull out of you.
Friday night had been, wonderful, amazing, a bunch of other adjectives. You shake your head, fingers still fighting to not rub on the bruises. The way he had made you feel as he touched you. Your face is flushed, both with anger and regret. Maybe you were being irrational, maybe you’d look too deep into things. But had you? You feel your jaw clench again, part of you wants to just leave. Walk away from set, from it all, the emotions gnaw inside trying to find a way out. The AD yells cut and calls lunch, you feel relieved half of the day was done.
You grab a book from your trailer before going to get lunch it helps take your mind off things. You are sitting in the tent book in hand, trying to avoid everyone, when Leonard sits down in front of you. Stomach learches as you try to ignore him, but he just keeps looking at you. You look over your book at him, the older man doesn’t have a plate of food. Just staring at you with deep blue eyes, hand running down his white beard. You let a sigh and put the book down.
“Hi Leonard.” You say trying not to let irritation seep in. It really felt like the world was against you today. Could no one leave you alone for 12 hours?
“Could I talk to you please, outside,” He was firm and confident, but at the same time something a kin to worry seemed to be crossing his face.
“Sure.” You do your best not to roll your eyes. He gets up and you follow him, tossing your half-eaten lunch in the garbage. Leonard goes down a side street towards his large black SUV. He opens the door for you, and you sigh. Maybe he would abduct you and you’d have legitimate things to worry about.
He closes the door and goes around the front of the vehicle, getting in and turning to you. “I am here to give you a message. I tried to find you this morning but things got a little hairy and I wasn’t able to get to you.”
“Did I join a gang and no one told me?” You ask words laced with sarcasm, fingers itching to grab the door handle and leave. Part of you wanted to know what was happening, and another part didn’t. It would just make it more real.
Leonard huffed, “Well if it’s a gang of two dumb-asses then yes.” Hand going over the rings on his hands.
“Sorry Leonard, it’s been a long day.” You saw his shoulder relax a little, he was just the messenger. Even if the message hurt, he didn’t deserve to be on the other end of your anger.
“Mr. Goggins sends his apologies. He left his phone in his apartment and wasn’t able to get a hold of you”
You blink for a few minutes, eyes narrowing at him. Could it really be true, something so simple? “That’s awfully convenient.”
Leonard narrowed his eyes right back at you, “If you saw how upset he was. You would think otherwise.” You felt like you were being scolded in kindergarten.
You chewed on the inside of your cheek. “Leonard, are you messing with me? Cause I am not here for any boys club BS.”
Leonard sighs looking out the front window, arms resting on top of the steering wheel. “Ma’ma. I’ve known Mr. Goggins for a very long time now. He is many things, but he is not someone to pump and dump.” You cringe at the last phrase, making you feel dirty at the idea. You raised your eyebrows, clear disgust on your face. “You know what I mean.” He said quietly.
You swallow, heart racing with nervous anticipation. “When is he coming back?”
“This evening, I am sure he will want to see you.” The man was so sure of his words, it was hard not to believe him.
“Well, he has my number,” You say curtly turning and opening the door to leave.
You walk quickly from the vehicle, hoping Leonard doesn’t follow you. You have nowhere to go, you know you should go back to the trailer and get the end of the day going. But you need just a few minutes alone. You walk yourself into the bathroom trailer and close the door locking it.
Ignoring the obvious odors you try to calm your mind, it was racing all over the place. You didn’t know how to feel, you had just spent the last three days upset over him. Yet could it have been as simple as him forgetting his phone? You knew he had forgotten it in the trailer before. Your mind races to Saturday morning, you had seen him put the phone on the table. Your heart skips, and you sit in the stall wanting to punch something. You opt for grabbing all the covered toilet paper rolls and lobbing them off the walls. Here you were blithering away like a fool over something simple. It wasn’t like you both had added each other on socials. Not that that would have mattered. A few more breaths and cleaning up the toilet paper you feel somewhat better. You’d sort whatever the hell this was tomorrow, for now you just needed to make it to the end of the day.

Meet the artist!
Tumblr media
Hi, my name, here on tumblr, is Moo or M3B! If you would like to know more about myself than hop on under the cut; I’ve stored a couple of facts down there :D
I am a Christian writer and artist, and I’m attempting animation as well! I have lots of shows that I’m very into, but the main ones are TMNT, Snow White with the Red Hair, Project 863, and Gravity Falls (other shows/movies include Haikyu!!, ATLA, Moonknight, Marvel, Studio Ghibli, Steven Universe, over the garden wall, and many more).
The reason my Sona is wearing a Zebra onesie is because the Zebra is the official symbol for Rare Diseases. I have Mitochondrial Disease (I refer to it as Mito), which has effected my life in many ways, though now I’m practically fine which is a wonderful blessing from God, I absolutely love talking about it and will gladly share some of my experiences with anyone who wants to hear! The safety pins on the Onesie are also there because of my experience with Mito, though it’s kind of a long story so I won’t write it all out here. ^-^
I love reading people’s rambles, so if you ever would like to talk about a show, movie, or literally anything, regardless if I’ve heard of it, I’d love to hear in an ask! My asks are also open if you just wanna stop by and say Hi :D
Some fun facts:
- I have three cats, Loki, Sylvie, and Suki <3
- I am 5’ exactly >:D
- my favorite bands are Madilyn Mei and Twenty One Pilots
- besides drawing and writing I also love to cook, bake, and crochet
- I am an ENTP
- I love learning about Psychology :D
- I use all caps and emoticons quite often
- I’m always open to drawing and writing requests, HOWEVER! there’s no promises that I’ll be able to finish it in a decent time frame or at all
———
I would also like to mention some awesome people I’ve met on this website that you should definitely give a follow:
@bowandbrush @ferniforest @exhaustedwriterartist @jadetheblueartist @peoplepersonoaktree @crowsandturtlesandbatsohmy @cookiedoesart64 @allyheart707 (along with all my other mutuals that I don’t have time to tag!!)

Joel Miller was as famous as they came. Within the last twenty years, he had been one of the most known artists (or you liked to call it, 'cowboys') in the world- most known for his country music and lifestyle. His debut album "Havana and Heartbreak" was released in the early ninetys, and had gone Diamond in the music industry. He won tons of awards (and still does) for his music, such as a grammy award for best album the year he released his debut album, a few AMAs, and a couple PCAs. The most important thing he had won, though, was you.
Joel had met you in a bar in the early 2000s, as he was at his complete high in fame. It started with him buying you a couple of drinks and a few hookups, but eventually turned into you two tying the knot in 2004. You had gone from a quiet, kept-to-yourself, suburbs girl to a centre-of-attention, hollywood, city girl. You weren't a fan of being in the spotlight, but you made sacrifices to be together with your husband outside, in public.
A few years into your marriage, Joel had (somehow) convinced you to be his manager in the industry. You were extremely hesitant at the start, this had meant you had to leave your daytime job and be in charge of so much, the burden was heavy but you definitely didn't want to disappoint him. You had agreed, and it was the second best decision you made in your life (the first marrying him, of course). Now, if anyone has anything to do with Joel, they have to come to you about it first.
Every couple of years, Joel dropped a new album. Times like this were so stressful for you, you had so much planning to do for him. Studio sessions, producer meetups, promos, you name it. Joel was the (pretty, at that) face of his business, and you were the brains. He knew this, so he would try anything and everything to get you to have breaks from the stress whenever he could. From sex in the studio bathrooms, to short trips to the Bahamas, he would treat his girl however she wanted.
Although, that had stopped about a month ago. You had stopped it, despite Joel's pleads not to. All he wanted was for you to be happy and stress-free, but you couldn't control it (unfortunately). Joel's newest album, "Rendezvous on the Riverbanks", had been released. This had meant a tour was upcoming- well, it was upcoming; tonight was the opening night. So much time and effort had gone into this tour, it had just completely drained you.
It had been around ten in the morning now, and you were already at the stadium where Joel was to perform tonight. He had wanted to open in his hometown of Arlington, Texas, and it ended up working itself out. Thankfully, the Dallas Cowboys were playing an away game the night Joel wanted, so you were successfully able to book it for him. You were standing backstage with a headset on, talking to someone apart of the lights team. Joel was standing in the middle of the stage, strumming his guitar to himself, almost silently.
"Alright, uh- dim four, but raise seven by about half." You rose your eyes from your clipboard to look at Joel on stage. The lights changed and he was now illuminated perfectly. A small 'perfect' escaped your lips as you pushed one side of the headset off your ears. "We're gonna keep this lighting, Joel." You called out to him.
He had turned his head over, almost snapping out of a trance. "Fine with me, baby." He had replied with a small smile upon his face. You couldn't help but mimic the smile. Even if Joel was blinded by the light, he would agree with you and say it was fine. If you were happy, so was he. As much as you had wanted to stand here all day and admire your beautiful man, many things had to get done before tonight.
For the next hour or so, you had played around with the microphone. Joel had absolutely hated the microphone attached to his earpiece, so he opted to use a good ol' fashion microphone and stand. One of the microphone tech's, Riley (you thought her name was), was helping fix Joel's microphone. "Just a little lower, darlin'." He had told the girl, standing with his back slouched.
You still stood from the sidelines, headset and board now down and off to the side. "You're slouched, Joel. Stand up!" You (jokingly) scolded him. A small laugh had escaped his lips as he flicks his hand at you, standing up completely straight. Now, Riley was properly able to adjust his stand to the correct length. Once she did this, he stepped forward and muttered a 'one, two, three, check' into the microphone. He and Riley had glanced over to you, getting your final opinion on it. "Sounds great to me, definitely the right height."
Riley's job was done, so this caused her to exit the stage to the opposite side of you. This had left just you and Joel out now (and of course the tens of others of workers scattered around the building). You had walked out to where your husband stood, leaving every piece of equipment you had out to the side for a moment. He had turned to face you just before you pulled him in for a kiss, followed by a tight hug.
"I’m proud o' ya'." Joel had muttered to you, barely loud enough for you to hear. He had stroked the back of your head as your head was tucked into the crook of his neck. "When all o' this is done, we'll take a long trip to wherever ya' wanna go." He had reminded you, still stroking your head.
You had brought your head up for a minute, bringing your hand to cup his right cheek. You met his bright eyes, he was yearning for you. "Anywhere you wanna go, I'll follow you." This had sent Joel smashing his lips to yours, practically off in his pants from just hearing you say that. His free hand had snaked its way around your waist to keep you in place. You did not back away, in fact, you brought your tongue eagerly to the entrance of Joel's mouth. He fought back for dominance, but before either one of you won, your name was being called on the speaker system. This caused a sigh from you, as you had (sadly) pulled back from your husband's lips.
"We can never get a moment of fuckin' silence, can we?" You tucked a piece of hair behind your ear as you shake your head and tsk. This earned a chuckle to escape from Joel’s lips, “Later we will, don’t ya’ worry, sweetheart.”
You brought your lips to his cheek in a quick fashion, pecking the soft skin before turning to walk away. As always, Joel had rose his hand and slapped the bottom of your ass as you walked away. If it were in any other circumstance, you would get pissed at Joel and would've told him to act professional. But, right now, who were you to mind? All you wanted was your husband's hands on you one last time right now, and he just granted that wish.
A golf cart had already been down the steps and waiting for you. You had quickly gotten your clipboard and headset before wasting no more time and getting onto the back, allowing the driver to move. You had found out that the opening act, Abby and the Outlaws, had arrived. Since Joel wasn't able to leave his set prep just yet, you had to go and greet the guests.
After a few minutes, the golf cart had rolled up and stopped in front of the suites. You got out of the back and panned the driver a small 'thank you' before knocking on the second door. You clutched your clipboard in hand, the headset finding its way back to around your neck. After longer than you had hoped, the door had finally opened after what felt like hours. A smile rose to your face a bit quicker than anticipated, with your hand pushed out for a handshake. "Abby and the Outlaws?"
The tall man smiled and nodded his head, "God'damn right we are." He brought his rough hand into yours, shaking it up and down two or three times. He had called the rest of his group over, a tall and blonde girl followed by an even taller and brunette man. The person who had opened the door introduced himself as Owen, the girl as Abby (if it weren't quite obvious), and the brunette by Manny.
"It's great to meet you guys, your music is great!" You had shaken each of their hands, of course still beaming from this encounter (it wasn't fake like before, these people seemed genuine). "I'm sure someone has already gone over everything- this isn't everyone's first rodeo I'm assuming?" You eyed around at the three, the blonde sitting on a nearby chair.
"It definitely ain't." Manny had told you, which had earned a nod from your end. "Figured as much-" You paused, reaching into your back pocket."-Here. This is a map of the entire place, we've reserved you this area for you from three upwards until six. Everything'o yours is already set up, ya' just gotta show up." A small laugh had escaped your lips after pointing to the map. They followed suit with a small chuckle, understanding what you had said.
"Got it. We'll head up in a bit- thank you." The woman, Abby, had stated. With one last smile, and a 'radio me if there's any issues' comment, you were off again. They seemed to have settled right in, plus, people would be coming to assist them shortly, so you were pleased everything was under control. Now, it was time to go find your husband once again.
You had called him about three times before he had answered. Usually, you wouldn't do that because you knew he was busy, but you had to find him. You had answered with many quickened apologizes, but he hadn't minded (he loved to hear your voice, even on the phone). You two chatted for a minute or two before deciding on a place to meet. As soon as you hung up you heard the faint music (you were far away from the open arena) pick up again and finish whatever song the man had been playing.
It took you around ten minutes to trail to the complete other side of the arena in a quick fashion. You were extremely out of breath when you had arrived, this hadn't to have been attractive you thought to yourself. After the weaving in and out of hallways, you had finally landed on the door your husband stood behind of. There was a man you hadn't recognized standing in front, definitely security from the venue- of some sort.
You passed him a small smile, an 'excuse me.' leaving your mouth as you tried to swerve past him. He followed your swerve, shaking his head. "Nobody's allowed in, manager's rules." He had stated to you, which just made you stare blankly at him. You were Joel's manager. You brought your hand up, showing the guard your (extremely) flashy engagement and wedding bands. "I'd like to see my husband, is that such a big deal?"
His face had dropped as he realized who you were. This had only caused you to laugh, it was almost ridiculous. The boy had almost fallen over as he moved to the side. "Sorry, Mrs. Miller." He looked down in shame as you just patted your shoulders, moving past him and into the room. Your husband turned over, a coors in hand. He smiled once he realized who was standing in front of him. You could only smile back as you approached the man you had loved. He brought you into his embrace with an immediate arm over your shoulders, and a peck to the forehead.
"You're good to leave, Tommy." He had stated, to his personal body guard- and his brother. Yes, that was right. Tommy Miller, Joel's younger brother, was Joel Miller's bodyguard. Tommy was always rough, and getting into trouble when the two were young. When Joel had rose to fame, he figured why not give his brother the chance to rough someone up every once and awhile- while getting paid to do so.
Tommy had nodded his head, a small 'hello' to you as he slipped our of the room and waited outside for Joel. "Took ya' a while to make your way up here, darlin'." Joel had said as he maneuvered the two of you over to the extremely uncomfortable couch in the corner of the room. As he sat first, he brought you over his lap. "Hey, I can only run so fast- and it doesn't help when you've lost your all entrance pass." You slightly chuckle as you wrap your arms around his neck. "We'll get ya' another before tonight, don'tcha worry."
Joel's hands had moved from your waist, slowly up your shirt. His lips were now latched onto your neck, which caused a small moan to escape your lips. "Not in here, baby." You had brought your hands up to his hair, your hands running through. Joel had only hummed in response, not really caring if anyone had heard the two of you. Everyone knew you were his- but, maybe they needed a reminder.
Remember earlier, it was said that Joel Miller would do anything and everything for you to lower your stress levels- including having sex with you wherever the two of you were? Well, this was one of those cases. He wanted everyone to know who you were - You were Mrs. Miller.
Tumblr media
It was a while later, about an hour until Joel had to go on stage. Right now, fans were going absolutely feral for Abby and the Outlaws. You and Joel were waiting backstage together, having a few drinks. Being with you had helped Joel a great deal, he was able to let loose and stay calm before he went on stage. Even though he had been doing this for years and years, the anxious vibes were radiating off of the man for the last while.
You had changed into a nice, black minidress from your basic tee and jeans. You liked getting dressed up for the occasion once in a while. Unlike Joel, who always seemed to be in his nice pair of jeans and a flannel (his signature look), you didn't mind it at all. Joel sure as hell didn't mind you getting dressed up every once in a while, he wanted you to wear short dresses more often- but it was just too uncomfortable for you, unfortunately.
Out of the small silence you two had maintained for a while (the only "words" were Joel's hands resting on top of your thigh), it was completely broken when a loud voice came echoing through the walls. You knew who this was. Before the name could even pop up in your head, the door had bursted open "Joel!"
The familiar brunette head had launched forward at him, this completely took him back and he rose from his seat- just in time to catch her. "Hey, kid." He had only laughed, ruffling her hair. It feels like too long since you've seen Ellie. Life must be hard as a sixteen year old, and your dad an international superstar, you had thought to yourself.
"Hey, Elles." You had beamed at the girl, pulling her into a tight hug once she was done with Joel. Even though the two of you weren't related, you were extremely close (well, when she had decided not to be a moody teenager). You and Joel had decided to take Ellie in when one of your family friend's had passed away, as a newborn. You had adopted Ellie not long after, and had considered her your own daughter.
The three of you had sat down and talked for a while, Ellie going into detail about the book she was creating for her finals project- some joke book of sorts, as per usual. Time had flown when you were spending time with the people you loved. Before you knew it, people were coming up to collect your husband.
"Aw, fuck! Just another five minutes- I'm sure these lovely Texans won't mind, Joel'ly boy-" Joel shook his head, helping you up from the seat. "There's a seat front row reserved for ya', now be a good girl'n go sit." He had told Ellie so casually. All she did was groan, letting a 'fine' escape her lips and exiting the room before any of the rest of you (she knew she wouldn't get far if she fought Joel on this). It was almost like Ellie was complaining on sitting front row at a sold out venue, with eighty thousand other people dying for the seats she got given to her.
You had tsked, followed with a quick laugh. Joel placed one of his hands on the bottom of your back, guiding you out of the room. His hand removed from your back once you were in a nice and big hallway, linking his fingers between yours. You could feel the nervous energy from him more than he thought.
"This ain't your first rodeo, baby. You'll knock their cowboy hats off." You made the remark to Joel, the two of you were getting closer and closer to the crowd of people. He could only squeeze your hand and give you a peck on the forehead. He knew everything would be fine, but the thought was always in the back of his head. "I'll be fine, sweetheart. You, on the other hand- ya'gotta worry 'bout not throwin' yourself all on me out there."
There was the man you recognized, the prideful and charismatic cowboy. "I'll hold myself back until you're done, I suppose." You made the small remark, pulling his arm as you sped up. "The time's cutting close- we're walking too slow." Your arm was almost painfully yanked back (he didn't mean to, Joel was too in the moment right now). "Show ain't startin' without me, now is it?"
You had turned to face your man, your Joel. The paparazzi pictures didn't do him justice, he was so much hotter in person. Your eyes had went from scattering to everything around, to focusing on the big, brown eyes in front of you. You had inched your face just a tad bit closer, enough for Joel to hear the hitch in your breath when you spoke to him. "It ain't."
He could only smirk at your words, wanting to do so much more but there was no time. His hand found its way to the back of your neck as he pulled you into a kiss. You, of course, complied, leaning in and fighting for dominance (just like earlier). This came to an end when you heard Joel's name being called from somewhere behind the two of you - his face fell from in front of yours. "We'll finish this after, yeah?"
You could only nod, a small smile rising to your face. You didn't have to worry about it not happening, Joel would make any and every time slot available for you. Your hands were still connected with one another, so you had continued to walk with Joel as he approached the stage. You two had went into a makeshift cover, so nobody would see him approaching (they would go even more feral).
As the lights in the stadium started to dim, indicating he was about to step out on stage, the crowd went insane. Your hand left his, and moved to cup his cheek. He was staring out into the crowd, but you brought his focus down to you. "Go kill 'em, cowboy."
Joel's expression went from unsure, to confident in a blink of an eye. He had nodded his head, "Ya' got it, princess." Joel's guitar tech, Dina (you think it was), had brought his guitar over. You barely played any instrument, but god this guitar was gorgeous. Joel had scored a nice deal with Fender a year or two ago and made a nice custom guitar with his collab. Joel had slung the guitar strap over his shoulder, strumming the strings to make sure everything was in tune (it was, that's why Dina was here, this was just a superstition he had).
The man in front of you had turned around, facing the stage. He was as ready as he could ever be- so were you. Everyone apart of the Joel Miller team around you seemed to be having a heart attack, just because of the stress and everything leading up to this moment, though. You could hear, clear as day, an inhale and exhale from Joel's mouth, before he walked out on that stage.
Everyone around had went silent, except the crowd. It was even louder than before, which you didn't think was possible. Soon enough, you heard (barely, through the crowd) Joel's voice throughout the stadium. He had started with the first song on his setlist, 'Wyoming' - a definite personal favourite. You were so proud of him, and hoped he knew. He put so much, if not more, work into this than anyone else had, so he deserved to have the best time. Your cowboy deserved the world and more.
Tumblr media
It was near the end of the show, the setlist of forty-something songs had gone by quick. Everyone (especially you, with a few drinks in your system) had let loose, and were having a great time. Joel was definitely having the most fun, almost completely sober too. He finished strumming his guitar to the second last song, before the crowd erupted into cheers and claps. Honestly, other than venues like this, you had never seen so much country folk. If there was one thing country folk could agree on, it was music.
"Alright, now. Before the las' song o' the night-" Joel was cut off by a bunch of disappointed people booing (the only time booing was understandable). He had laughed, swatting his hand around. "I know, I know. But, before it all comes t'an end, I gotta introduce someone to y'all." Gasps and excited screams were heard from all around.
Joel had turned his head to search for you beside the stage, his eyes panning everyone- until he met your gaze. It was hard to determine if it were you for a split second, just because the lights out in the open were extremely blinding. "Now, some'o y'all might just know 'bout this, might just know who this is," He brought his hand up, signalling for you to come out.
You only shook your head, you couldn't believe he was doing this. "Hey, uh-" you turned to some random crew member around, "-can you hold my drink? Thanks." Before a response was given, you handed it over and moved your way over to the stage entrance. You could only brace yourself for what was about to happen to you. "Come on out, little lady."
The lights were very blinding, he was so right. You had also went temporarily deaf from everyone screaming their hearts out at you. You didn't realize you were such a hot commodity around these places. If the screams weren't loud from when you walked out, they sure as hell were loud when Joel pulled you into a kiss. It was actually insane- you couldn't believe it. Your mind was racing, both from the anxiety and the thrill.
You turned now, to face the crowd. Joel's arm fell around your shoulder as you grabbed the microphone stand and adjusted it to your height. "So many beautiful faces 'round this crowd." There were a few girls dead centre in the front who were screaming and crying, waving up to you. Your heart completely melted, you wished you could just jump down and embrace them.
"Now," Joel had started as the crowd hushed, dropping his head to be able to reach the top of the microphone, "Ain't nobody go gawkin' at her, ya' can't have her." This caused an in-sync laugh to escape both yours and Joel's lips. He had found his way to the necklace dangling just above your chest, playing with it between his thumb and index finger (from the arm that was wrapped around your neck).
"Jokes aside, now, this little lady's gonna help with the closer." The nickname, you swore it did something to you. You had brought your head up, mouth right beside Joel's ear. "Ya' know I can't play for the life of me, Joel." He could only smirk at this comment, he was nowhere near trying to embarass you with this- he only wanted you to live it up, just like he was.
Joel ignored your comment and brought his head down to the mic once again, "She said she cannot wait to play!" This was in fact not what you had said, so this earned a slap on Joel's chest from you. He had removed his arm from around you, now standing straight on. He took his guitar off from around him, and slid the strap over your head. You couldn't help but smile at Joel, despite the fake-angry look you tried to maintain.
"Ya' got the rhythm'n chords down, don't worry." Joel had reminded you, his love language most definitely being words of affirmation. Before he had started to adjust the strap so the guitar sit perfectly on you, you slid the hair elastic he had always kept for you off of his wrist, and started to tie your hair back and out of your face. A few people who were close up noticed this, and blew a few whistles over to the two of you.
"I'll count us in, 'kay?" He hummed, and you nodded. Your eyes slid up the neck of the guitar as you stepped up with Joel, beside the microphone now. Joel's 'Cowboy' was the closing song, definitely the fan favourite from all his music throughout the years. You knew this song like the back of your hand, even without practice, you'd be fine.
Whenever he had counted himself in, it was three foot taps. He knew that you knew this. The entire stadium was silent, waiting to hear the last song choice.
One. Your eyes quickly fell down to the man's boots. His Black Jack Caiman Crocodile heels tapped the wooden floor. Joel's hands started to creep up the stand, his grip tightening once it hit the microphone.
Two. Your fingers from your right hand fell over the corresponding spots to be able to play the song. Your left hand found its way down to the middle of the guitar, ready to strum away.
Three. Joel inhaled, you inhaled, you both exhaled in sync. It was now or never, in front of eighty thousand people, streamed for the entire world to hear.
Luckily it wasn't just you playing, the backtrack was also able to be heard in unity with you playing and Joel singing. You were far too concentrated at multitasking (with the chords and the strumming) to hear Joel singing, or the crowd cheering for you, or even your own thoughts. But, before you knew it, you strummed your last beat.
An exhale left your lips rather quickly, as if you were holding it in the entire time. You just looked to Joel, and he looked back at you. Both of you had drowned out the sounds of screaming coming from every single nook and cranny of the arena from around you.
You wanted nothing more then to spend your nights just like this, with Joel, with your cowboy - and in everything he had loved, you were in the centre of it. He didn't want it any other way, he wanted to spend every breathing moment of his life with you, even if it was in front of the entire world to see. You were his partner in crime, you were his cowgirl.
opening night, scowl

TWITTER SUCKS! > twenty-eight! kiss the girl
Tumblr media
synopsis > who knew you could become famous overnight for paying $8 for a single blue checkmark? however, it does come with consequences…what happens when the actual BELIFT Lab comes knocking at your door. all because you simply impersonated your bias.
masterlist | previous | next
vote for my next smau here!!!
a/n: more lore and jieun getting roasted to the ground. she about to become a pack of roasted peanuts💅🏻 (idk don’t ask).
fun fact! i’ve been to HYBE before. well not go in HYBE but I have stood outside HYBE before and I must say it’s really nice.
Tumblr media
you have never felt this nervous. your fingers gripping the ends of your sleeveless. you were about to meet ENHYPEN. the people who helped heal you from your horrible breakup. god, you were terrified of messing up.
you walked up the steps and through the revolving door (yes, HYBE has a revolving door. like what is this a hotel??). there was a receptionist so you were about to walk up to them and tell them about it but someone pops out of nowhere.
-
“oh? noona.” jungwon says. you turned around and you gasp. this was yang jungwon in flesh. you nearly yelped in excitement but you should definitely not act like a crazy fan. also they really meant it when they said camera never does idols justice. jungwon looked way more prettier in real life.
“jungwon.” the younger boy smiles.
“heeseung hyung has been so nervous about today. he kept straightening his shirt and making sure his hair was-” he chuckles. “ah, you should just meet him. follow me!”
you glanced at the staff at the reception and jungwon notices.
“don’t worry. you are with us, i’m sure they wouldn’t mind.”
“yeah but shouldn’t I get a pass? surely, I can’t just enter the building like this.” jungwon pouts.
“okay, maybe I should call the manager down here.” he dials for the manager and enhypen’s manager comes down. there was a slight administrative work but it was settled quickly. though…the manager kinda did have to lie about you were being a new staff but it was for a good cause so who cares.
jungwon opens the door for you and walked in. the others quickly took notice of you and you felt overwhelmed.
“noona, you’re really pretty in real life.” jake says. it earns a smack from sunghoon.
“yah yah, heeseung hyung’s girl. you should know the bro code.” sunghoon says.
“i’m just complimenting her. is it wrong to compliment someone?”
“it’s not wrong, it’s just that everytime you compliment someone. they just take it as you’re flirting with them.” jay says. jake was about to argue but he stops himself before pouting.
ni-ki turns to look at heeseung. “hyung, are you not going to greet her?”
“uh-” he clears his throat. “yeah. hi (name).”
you smiled, “hi heeseung.”
heeseung could feel his heart racing. your smile was pretty and he liked it. he wanted to see it more often.
“heeseung, you have an interview so you need to change and get your makeup done.” jieun enters the room. she realises you were there. she glares at you.
“and who might you be?” jieun gives you a fake smile. one that you could clearly tell was sarcastic and fake.
“she’s a new staff member.” jungwon explains. he points to your ID card.
“her? please don’t me she’s part of the fashion team or makeup team. she can’t even plan her outfit and makeup right.” jieun says. sunoo rolls his eyes.
“i’m sorry but judging by your outfit choice today…” he scans her outfit. “yeah, you look like a hot mess. not stylish at all. aren’t you supposed to be our stylist?”
jieun scoffs, “I am a makeup artist not a fashion designer.”
“your foundation is caked up. better remove it, you look like a ghost.” sunoo sasses. jieun stomps her feet and leaves the room.
“damn, is she always like this?”
“with sunoo mainly.” sunghoon says.
“we don’t waste our energy on her because we find her annoying. sunoo does the roasting most of the times. he enjoys seeing her storm off.” jay shrugs.
“anyways, noona. are you and heeseung hyung going to have a date? a company date?” ni-ki smirks. heeseung shoves the younger boy.
“no. it’s a friendly date.”
oh it’s a friendly date. you dressed up nicely for nothing?
jay pulls heeseung aside.
“noona, how about we reach you how to do ‘drunk-dazed’?” jake suggests.
“in a skirt?” you say. jake flushes.
“uh, okay maybe not ‘drunk-dazed’. what about umm..”
“whoops too bad. sorry! I’ll take (name)’s time now!” heeseung grabs your hands and pulls you away from the boys. he quickly leaves the room with you.
“first step complete!” sunoo clasps.
“are you going to get mae and subin here?” sunghoon asks jay.
“should we? I think (name) noona might get suspicious though.”
“who cares if she gets suspicious. she’s going to literally find out hyung likes her and they both have feelings for each other.” sunghoon says.
“sunghoon hyung is right. we should get mae and subin here. they know her best.” jungwon says.
“alright, if leader nim says so.” jay says.
in a matter of 15-20 minutes later, mae and subin appeared at the practice room.
“where they fucking?” mae says upon entering the room. subin smacks her arm.
“unnie, that’s not nice of you to say that. she and heeseung oppa are just chatting.” subin says.
jay stares right at mae and swore his heart leaps. which was weird because he has never had this happen before. sure, he had crushes but something about mae was getting to him.
“hey bud, you’re drooling.” jake nudges. jay rolls his eyes.
“I am not. anyways, hyung and noona went to the rooftop cafe. it’s famous up there for date spots between staff and idols.”
“oooo is there mint choco in the cafe?” subin asks. sunoo gasps.
“you’re a true sunoo stan.” he goes to hug her. subin freezes. mae snorts.
back to you and heeseung. he hands his card to the cashier and pays for the drinks.
“so…what did you and jay talk about?”
“nothing, he’s just teasing me. that’s all.”
“oh. that’s umm sweet?”
heeseung chuckles, “really?”
“I mean you guys have been friends for 7 years now. you guys practically like siblings. teasing is only a common thing in a friendship.”
“so you, mae and subin tease each other a lot?”
“only recently when-” you paused. were you about to expose your feelings for him? what if you do tell him though…what could happen.
“only when?”
“i started to have a crush on you.” you whispered the last part. heeseung tilts his head.
“i’m sorry, I couldn’t catch the last part.”
“you. I have a crush on you.” you blushed after admitting it. heeseung’s jaw drops.
“order for lee heeseung!” the barista calls out.
“i-” he stood up. “I’ll get our order. one second.”
you mumbling and smacking from somewhere and you spot a familiar sweater that subin loved wearing. that’s when your eyes widened, the other boys and your friends were listening in. mae realises you had seen them so she drags the others away. heeseung places the tray on the table.
“umm, i’m sorry i dumped a whole big bomb on you. I shouldn’t have expose my feelings for you when we quite literally just met in person-”
what you did not expect was for lee heeseung, your bias, your crush and the man you liked, to kiss you. heeseung places a finger under your chin to tilt your head up so he could kiss you easier. you wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him back. only a couple of seconds later, heeseung pulls away.
“don’t doubt yourself, I like you as much as you do.” he pecks your forehead.
splash
a gasp was heard after you heard a cup fall to the ground. when you and heeseung turned back to the sound, you realised it was jieun. her fist was clenched, she runs. probably to inform the other staff of you and heeseung. both you and heeseung turned to each other, there was a knowing look that both of you knew.
you had to stop jieun and expose her

💕Solo Career💕
Tumblr media
Yumi Matsutoya (松任谷 由実, Matsutōya Yumi, born January 19, 1954), nicknamed Yuming (ユーミン, Yūmin),is a Japanese singer, composer, lyricist and pianist. Generally the writer of both the lyrics and the music in her songs, she is renowned for her idiosyncratic voice and live performances, and is one of the most prominent figures in the history of Japanese popular music.
Her recording career has been commercially successful with more than 42 million records sold. In 1990, her album The Gates of Heaven became the first album to be certified "2x million" by the RIAJ, and she has had twenty-one No. 1 albums listed on the Oricon charts.
She is the only artist to have at least one number-one album every year on the Oricon charts for 18 consecutive years.
After gaining several years of experience as a session musician, she debuted as a singer-songwriter in 1972. During her early career, she worked under her birth name Yumi Arai (荒井 由実, Arai Yumi). In 1975, Arai became known as a composer for "Ichigo Hakusho wo Mou Ichido", a commercially successful song recorded by the folk duo BanBan. She also gained popularity as a vocalist in the same year through the success of "Ano Hi ni Kaeritai", which became her first number-one hit on Japan's Oricon Charts. Other famous songs include "Haru-yo, Koi" and "Sweet, Bitter Sweet".
She also uses the name Kureta Karuho (呉田軽穂), which is derived from the Swedish film star Greta Garbo, when offering her work to other musicians.
In The Encyclopedia of Contemporary Japanese Culture, it is written that "Yuming incorporated influences from progressive rock and European pop to produce a sophisticated, upper-middle-class female Japanese voice and sound in a contemporary musical and journalistic world dominated by discussions of folk music and social critique. This musical idiom is generally thought to have been first realised on [...] Cobalt Hour".
The album The 14th Moon and the three albums that ranked in the top 10 of the Japanese charts in 1976 (Cobalt Hour, Yuming Brand, and Hikōki-gumo) "contained several songs which are considered to be early classics of the J-pop genre."
After marrying her musical collaborator Masataka Matsutoya in 1976, Arai began recording under her married name and has continued to do so. Throughout the 1980s, Matsutoya's music was prominently featured in advertisements for Mitsubishi Motors in her native Japan and her image was used to promote their vehicles. In addition to multiple hit singles, she has obtained enormous commercial success on the Japanese Albums Chart, particularly during the late 1980s and the first half of the 1990s.
The magazine Shūkan Gendai ranked Matsutoya third (behind only Miyuki Nakajima and Masayoshi Son) in a list of the smartest Japanese figures that was determined based on the criteria of "intelligence, determination, sensibility and capability".

💕Information On Yumi Arai💕
Early years
Yumi Arai was born in 1954 in Hachiōji, Tokyo. She had three brothers and one sister, and her family ran a draper shop called Arai Gofukuten, established in 1912. When she was a junior high school student, she used to go to an Italian restaurant called Chianti, which had opened in 1960. In those days, many celebrities went to the restaurant; Akira Kurosawa, Yukio Mishima, Kōbō Abe, Seiji Ozawa, Ryu Murakami, Taro Okamoto, Kishin Shinoyama, and Hiroshi "Monsieur" Kamayatsu, who eventually became her first record producer.
Alfa Music, the publishing company to which she belonged early her in career (later to become a full-fledged record label in 1977), was founded by people who were regular customers at Chianti.
Her nickname "Yuming" was given to her by Sy Chen (シー・ユー・チェン), a Chinese bassist she had a crush on when she was 13 years old. She began her music career when she was still young. At the age of 14, she worked as a musician for the first time. Having worked as a studio musician, she also wrote many original songs. When she was 17 years old, her first original song titled "Ai wa Totsuzen ni" was released. It was sung by Katsumi Kahashi, the former guitarist of the influential 1960s Japanese band The Tigers.
In April 1972, Arai entered Tama Art University. At the same time, she signed with then-publishing company Alfa as a music artist. At first, she wanted to be a songwriter. However, the founder of the publishing company, Kunihiko Murai, encouraged her to work as a singer-songwriter.
Early career; works as Yumi Arai
On July 5, 1972, Arai released her debut single "Henji wa Iranai". It was produced by Hiroshi "Monsieur" Kamayatsu, the former vocalist of The Spiders. Released by Toshiba EMI, the label to which she would be affiliated and release all her albums throughout her career, under its Liberty sublabel (with Alfa acting as publishing company), her first single sold only 300 copies. (It would later feature in re-recorded form on her debut LP, Hikō-ki Gumo.)
She recorded her first full album, Hikō-ki Gumo, with the band Caramel Mama, better known as Tin Pan Alley, which consisted of Haruomi Hosono, Shigeru Suzuki, Tateo Hayashi and Masataka Matsutoya, and it was released by Toshiba EMI under its Express sublabel in November 1973; the title track (and lead-off track) was later used as the theme song for the movie The Wind Rises (2013). For her next album, MISSLIM, (1974), Masataka Matsutoya, who was the keyboardist of Tin Pan Alley, arranged all of her songs. Her third studio album, Cobalt Hour (1975), features her early famous song "Sotsugyō Shashin". The same year, it was covered by the chorus group Hi-Fi Set (who also performed on the original song) on their first album with the same name. That cover version also succeeded as a single. In later years, it was covered by many Japanese artists and became one of Japan's classic pop songs. The same year, the male folk duo BanBan recorded her song "Ichigo Hakusho o Mou Ichido" and reached number one on the Oricon chart. Because of the commercial success of other artists, she became famous as a songwriter.
Yumi achieved moderate success with her fifth single, Rouge no Dengon ("Rouge Message"), an up-tempo song considered to be a proto J-Pop classic. She gained a television appearance singing this song with the top Japanese girl group of the time, Candies, and the song has been covered by a number of artists over the years.
Her first top hit as a singer-songwriter was her sixth single "Ano Hi ni Kaeritai". In August 1975, it was used as the theme song for the TBS TV drama Katei no Himitsu. Two months later, it was released as a single and reached the top of the Oricon chart. The 14th Moon (1976), her final album as Yumi Arai, featured Leland Sklar on bass and Mike Baird on drums. Since this album, Masataka Matsutoya has produced all her albums himself. She considers her nickname "Yuming" to also mean the name of the union with her husband. Following the success with "Ano Hi ni Kaeritai", it became her first album to reach number one on the Oricon chart. Besides, in the end of the year chart in 1976, three of her albums (Cobalt Hour, Yuming Brand, and Hikō-ki Gumo) ranked in the top 10.
Four years after her debut, she dominated the Japanese album charts. This astonishing record has never been broken by anyone since.
In 1989, her fifth single, "Rouge no Dengon" (from her third album), and third single, "Yasashisa ni Tsutsumaretanara" (the version used was from her second album), were featured as the theme songs of the film Kiki's Delivery Service. Nowadays, those tunes are known as her early notable songs.
Some of her songs were deeply influenced by many American and European musicians, such as Joni Mitchell and Carole King. As a pioneering singer-songwriter who mixed Western culture and Japanese pop, she left a strong impression on Japanese popular music.
Works as Yumi Matsutoya
After marrying Masataka Matsutoya on November 29, 1976, she had considered retirement. But eventually she decided to continue to work as a musician, performing under her married name. In 1978, her memorable first album as Yumi Matsutoya, entitled Benisuzume was released. In the late 1970s and early 80s, she released two albums every year. However, those albums were less successful than the ones she released when she was single. Nevertheless, she wrote several of her well-known songs during those years, and her albums reached the top 10 on the Oricon chart.
Before the release of Benisuzume, a compilation named Album was released by Toshiba EMI. It mainly contained songs she had released as Yumi Arai, and two songs released as singles only. Matsutoya didn't want to release this compilation; in her autobiography released in 1982, she writes about this album and calls it "The biggest stain on my music career."
Because of this, she never allowed the release of another compilation album until 1998. However, her ex-record-label-and-publishing-company Alfa Records had, after 1977 (when Alfa finally established itself as an independent record label), released many compilations which consisted of her old tunes without her permission. Hence, in the late 1990s, she bought the copyrights of all her songs that she had written under her maiden name; helping in this decision was the fact that Toshiba EMI had by then regained control, in 1994, of the Alfa catalogue, including the albums released by Toshiba EMI while Alfa was still a publishing company, thus her early catalogue being spared of Alfa's 2001 sale to Sony after Alfa faced financial difficulties.
Her tenth album, Surf and Snow (1980), changed the negative tide for her. When the album was released, it did not sell as well as others had previously. However, in 1986, "Koibito ga Santa Claus" became popular as the theme song for the hit movie ''Take Me out to the Snowland [jp] (私をスキーに連れてって, Watashi wo Ski ni Tsuretette.) (1987). The album eventually sold over 400,000 copies. In 1981, she returned to the top of Japanese pop music. Her husband wrote the score for the movie Nerawareta Gakuen, which was directed by Nobuhiko Obayashi and distributed by Kadokawa Pictures. She wrote "Mamotte Agetai" as the theme song for the movie. The single of this song reached number two on Oricon and sold nearly 700,000 copies. Following the success of the single, her eleventh album Sakuban Oaishimasho (1981) became her second number one album. From that year through 1997, 17 consecutive studio albums she released reached number one on the Oricon charts.
Ian Martin of The Japan Times wrote in 2016, "At the same time she was contributing to Matsuda's record-breaking run of No. 1 hit singles, Matsutoya’s own work retained an almost militant focus on albums, and the balance she struck between commercial success and artistic integrity is a source of inspiration to many aspiring musicians."
In 1982, she published an autobiography, Rouge no Dengon. In this book, she wrote about her life in an exaggerated style. She contemplated doing the artwork on her own albums. The artwork of the album Sakuban Oaishimasho (1981) was designed by Hipgnosis, and the video Compartment was produced by Storm Thorgerson, Aubrey Powell and Peter Christopherson. A logo design from the latter film also became the logo of "Yuming", and was used as the cover of the 1984 album No Side. Aubrey Powell and Richard Evans of Hipgnosis also designed the cover of the 1983 album "Voyager". Since the 1970s, she has also been famous as an artist who performs in concerts using gorgeous and novel sets. She used elaborate visual technology on the stage and it is said that they cost over a hundred million yen. She has released two live albums and several videos. In 1986, she released her first live album, Yuming Visualive DA-DI-DA,. It was released on CD and cassette tape only, and it became one of the rarest items among her fans for many years
