I lean towards thinking that Paul was right to take leadership over the Fremen and then take power over the Empire, and Chani's wish for Fremen indepence but continuing isolation on Arrakis is misplaced.
Spice - because it allows safe interstellar travel - is too important to the Empire to let Arrakis go. If the Harkonnen's fail, other Houses will try and will continue to try. So if Arrakis cannot be left alone and independent, giving the Fremen a place in the power structure of the Empire is preferable to continued war and supression.
However, this might have also been achievable if Paul merely insisted with the other Great Houses that the Emperor abdicated and he is recognized as the Duke of Arrakis; the Houses could then have chosen a new compromise Emperor together. But we do not know if the other Houses would have accepted that or if they would have tried to conquer Arrakis for themselves - that would have resulted in the Holy War anyways.
(Also, the fact that House Harkonnen was tolerated by the Emperor while House Atreides was marked for destruction because they had a "weak heart" may mean that the galaxy lives under more misery than necessary and Fremen rule could change things for the better. Unfortunately we don't see enough of this world to really know.)

thinking about Obi-Wan and Cody's last scene together in revenge of the sith but specifically the NOVELIZATION and how Cody flirted with Obi-Wan in a way that made Obi-Wan Kenobi 'Master of Sass and Trolling', the FAMED Negotiator blush and duck his head!!! and wondering if perhaps the fact that this was potentially their last battle and that Obi-Wan had just killed Grievous and they all could practically FEEL the end of the war brushing against their fingertips had given Cody that spike of courage, hope, peace that had made him pursue the drumming of maybe maybe maybe to his heartbeat that led to Obi-Wan blushing so profoundly he tried to fucking laugh it off and then zoooooomed tf out of there on bogas back.

Okay, so here are our options:
1. David Tennant is the Fourteenth Doctor because the Jodie Whittaker's Doctor regenerated into him.
2. Ncuti Gatwa is the Fourteenth Doctor because Ten3 does not count.
3. Sacha Dhawan is the Fourteenth Doctor because Jodie Whittaker's doctor regenerated into him.
4. Jodie Whittaker is the Fourteenth Doctor due to the existence of the War Doctor.
5. Peter Capaldi is the Fourteenth Doctor due to the existence of the War Doctor and the time David Tennant regenerated into himself.
6. Matt Smith is the Fourteenth Doctor due to the existence of the War Doctor, and the time David Tennant regenerated into himself, and Jo Martin’s Doctor.
7. David Tennant is the Fourteenth Doctor due to the existence of the War Doctor, and the fact that he regenerated into himself, and Jo Martin's Doctor, and the existence of TenToo.
8. TenToo is the Fourteenth Doctor for the above reasons.
9. Donna Noble is the Fourteenth Doctor for the above above reasons.
10. Both David Tennant and Ncuti Gatwa's Doctors' true numbers are unknowable due to the existence of The Timeless Child.
11. Both David Tennant and Ncuti Gatwa's Doctors' true numbers are unknowable due to the existence of The Timeless Child, and the uncountable amount of times The Twelfth Doctor died and was reborn in Heaven Sent.
12. Both David Tennant and Ncuti Gatwa's Doctors' true numbers are unknowable due to the existence of The Timeless Child, and the uncountable amount of times The Twelfth Doctor died and was reborn in Heaven Sent, and all Doctors seen in noncanon materials are actually canon (Peter Cushing films, Scream of the Shalka, Curse of the Fatal Death, etc...)
13. Both David Tennant and Ncuti Gatwa's Doctors' true numbers are unknowable for all of the above reasons and also because pseudo-Doctors such as The Valeyard and The Dream Lord are also The Doctor.
14. The above is true, but The Doctor is simply a title, and anyone who claims to be The Doctor is also The Doctor. Jackson Lake is The Doctor. Clara is The Doctor. Missy is The Doctor. Graham is The Doctor. Every actor who has played The Doctor are also The Doctor.
15. The above is true, but due to The Egg Theory everyone else is also The Doctor. We are all The Doctor.
16. None of the above is true because no Doctor after the Revival is canon.
17. None of the above is true because no Doctor after the First Doctor is canon.
18. None of the above is true because there is no Fourteenth Doctor. The number was skipped for some reason.
19. The numbering system is flawed and useless to current canon, and we should switch to identifying Doctors by their actors, as we do with The Master. (Example: Hartnell!Doctor)
20. The above is not true because we would still need to find a way to differentiate the 3 - 4 Doctors played by David Tennant.
21. All of the above is technically true, and Russell T Davies should put it up to a poll and see who wins, and we must all commit to the democratic vote.

I cannot take the literal dozens of asks about this anymore: Malady is pronounced "ma-luh-dee"
Like the word itself. Like how you find it in the dictionary. Like how you would find it if you google "how to pronounce malady".
Here's the thing, you can pronounce it any way if you want, I literally don't care. But I will be upfront, if you come to my ask box going 'oh I thought it was a weird pun on "my lady'" because he's a knight-, or something along those lines, you will not be the first person to make that joke. Nor the second, nor the fifth, not even the tenth. And you will definitely not be the last.
I am putting my foot down, I will suffer from these slings and arrows no longer.

Finished Reading Padawan
These are just some little facts/snippets throughout the book I really liked, really along the lines of temple life.
Spoilers for Padawan below!
┉┉┉◤▲◥┉┉┉
Obi-Wan tugs on his padawan braid when he is anxious
Bolla Ropal (the Jedi that was killed guarding the holocron in TCW) was Obi-Wan's childhood frienemy. The two played pranks on each other.
Obi-Wan paces outside Qui-Gon's chamber doors as he's trying to figure out what to say what he needs to.
Obi-Wan feels most at peace, most calm, when he is practicing lightsaber forms and says he could do it all day and never bore of it.
Jedi specialize in certain fields, such as communication with animals, and if such a conflict arises based in that Jedi's field, they are sent to help
Jedi who are ready to take have a padawan meditate and the force guides them to who they're meant to train, leading to shared interests.
The temple has several dining halls. There is a padawan meal hall and therefore one for the other ranks. They offer such a variety of food Obi-Wan said one could always find something new to try. And I could've made this up but I'm also pretty sure they said the dining hall for padawans was almost always open, so one was always be able to get a meal.
Some Jedi Masters put a table and chairs in their rooms so they can share a meal with their padawan in their personal space
Qui-Gon doesn't even have an extra chair in his room.
Ships can be requested/reserved down in the hangar. A padawan is allowed to do this without approval from their master (Obi-Wan is told by Qui-Gon to do do but is not directly confronted when he does it alone).
Talking and communicating with animals is actually one of the harder skills to learn and master as a Jedi, so many opt not to. Meaning Ezra's ability to communicate with animals as well as he does is not something all Jedi could do, especially for his age
Nautolans, can live outside of water (we do know this) but since they are an aquatic species, there is a constant strain on their gills and results in them being in pain if out of water for too long.
Obi-Wan thinks Kit Fisto is really strong, he notes Fisto does not seem to be affected by this.
Obi-Wan notes some of his padawan friends have dabbled in physical relationships. But he sees it has an obstacle not as a temptation, feeling that, kissing for example, was a betrayal of himself and the Jedi. He wonders if he'd ever get to a point where it does not feel like that.

Honestly this book was a really cute read and the planet it takes place on was very captivating. I really liked how Kirsten White writes Qui-Gon too and her references that any prequel fan would love catching.
