ok i FINALLY started reading the rush of rarities (took me long enough, didn't it?) and i just need to say that the depictions of pandora are making me feel SO good about myself? she's so special to me. i haven't actually read a fic with an autistic or neurodivergent character yet and it just makes me so so happy to finally be reading it- like i'm reading about pandora feeling comfortable flapping her hands and info dumping around lily and I'M flapping my hands and feeling the need to info dump

and that's just one example- i'm in love with both lily and pandora's portrayals and they're both relatable in ways i wouldn't have noticed in myself without this

i'm happy :)

so i know i'm a bit late to the party, but i started the rush of rarities properly yesterday and i need to rant because sibling angst always makes me so sad (spoilers below)

so at petunia's wedding my spotify decided it hated me and started playing coney island at this part

like!! of all paragraphs!! of course it had to be this one i was reading when i heard "break my soul in two looking for you but you're right here. if i can't relate to you anymore, then who am i related to?"

sibling angst always makes me really emotional but god this one. this one broke me.

because they still love each other and they'll always love each other but they couldn't fix this. do you know how much i relate to this!! like, you'll always be my sisters and people will always think we look alike but i know that there'll be a point in my life where we'll just walk past each other on the street. and that's not my fault or your fault, it's just the way it is. i'll always love you more than anything but i'll also always hate you just a little bit and i know you hate me too,,

the entire scene of petunia's wedding made me sob.

it got me giggling, kicking my feet the whole time and it just hit me by the way i related to both pandora and lily

the representation of autism was absolutely amazing and the way people around pandora just…got it, felt so special to me and good representation(not just quirky traits but everything that comes with it) it’s important yall !!!!!!!!!!!!!

also the burnout gifted kid shit just… AH(#/unhealthy coping mechanisms)(working on that) been there, done that, yall can’t understand how much i loved it 🫠

thoughts on rush of rarities? because i loved it. it was adorable and sweet and did a really good job at expanding on lily's relationship with petunia. plus mad scientist!pandora and protective gf!lily are adorable and amazing. anyways it's not being talked abt enough so i wanted to appreciate it

Istg if I don’t see everyone freaking out ab Zar’s new fic the same way they did with just lovers and crimson rivers. Zar’s fics are all extremely popular and he’s a beloved author in this fandom, this is the first fic he’s writing that is centric on a wlw ship and it’s so disheartening seeing so many people ignore it just because of that.

I'm really not vibing with whatever staff is doing now. Not only does there seem to be a total internal communication breakdown, there also seems to be an absolute disregard for how the players are affected by this.

Like, ignoring the fact that the consistency argument doesn't even hold water, their takeaway from the Fern/Paisley thread seems to have been "oh we gotta change Breakup and Hypnotic too!!"

And then completely reversing Sandsurge Blend on top of that? A gene that's been out for over half a year and was only listed as having the gradient softened, not reversed? Just a total failure to communicate and an absolute bullheadedness in pushing the changes through despite the very reasonable player concerns?

To top it all off, none of these are bug changes, they are style changes. Someone saw these genes before they went live, greenlighted them, and put them in the game. And now, months upon months later, someone else (presumably) says "fuck that, I want the gene to look like this instead" and that complete change is just... pushed through??

Like. Did they learn nothing from the Butterfly debacle, from Obelisk Flair, hell, from the Eyepocalypse?

What the fuck is going on behind the scenes?
