"Danyal."
He flinched and slowly turned enough so he could look over his shoulder at the cockpit of the Fenton Speeder. Damian was staring at him with crossed arms and so was Jason, both looking very unimpressed with him.
"I got it! Don't worry!"
Damian was now glaring at him. "You said that ten minutes ago."
"Pretty sure we came past this floating rock over there before." Jason added to Danny's dismay. He floated over closer to the Speeder, his entire body language spelling out how nervous he was facing his twin and brother right now.
"I promise, I got this! A lot of the Infinite Realm looks very similar and aside from the floating doors nothing really differs here a lot. Unless you find the haunt of someone!"
"We know, you said that when we entered the portal, repeated it before that several times and every time we came here before, insisting on several safety measures." Damian retorted still with that unimpressed stare of his.
"Some safety measures that were, we still got attacked by one of your ghost rogues." Jason muttered, eying the thermos Danny had thrown at them when a guy, Walker, came at them with a bunch of other ghosts looking like security guards. They had sucked up most of them into it and then lost the last of them by zigzacking their way through this dimension.
It wasn't like this was their first time accompanying Danny into the Infinite Realms. Both Jason and Damian had come into this dimension several times before. Most of the time it was for checkups Jason or Danny had with Frostbite. Other times they just tagged along when Danny had to deal with something here. This was one of these times.
A floating eyeball had interrupted their breakfast and Danny after having gotten annoyed with it enough to shoot one of his ecto-blasts at it, hurriedly went down to the basement to the portal he had built there months ago. Jason just happened to be in the cave wanting to look something up on the batcomputer when he caught him preparing to go into the portal. And Damian as always, being the worried twin that still got an overprotective streak after months of having Danny with them also insisted on coming alone.
They had been lucky that it wasn't a school day or that Bruce had been busy with JL stuff to notice them going off into the Infinite Realm on their own. Now Jason regretted it just a little bit, because despite what Danny was saying, they were lost. It was probably only a matter of time until one of their other siblings noticed too. "So wanna bet how long it will take for the others to freak out on the coms of our disappearance? I don't think we left a note on where we went."
"I informed Pennyworth of our outing." Damian countered and Danny gave a nervous laugh. Jason couldn't help the chuckle that escaped him, fully knowing that Bruce was going to lecture Danny once more on safety precautions when traveling interdimensional. Like having someone man the coms at home base.
"This would be so much easier if I just had the map…" Danny muttered as he phased through the cockpit glass and stood next to them.
"The map you just happened to leave behind because you know the way to the castle by heart?" Damian rose an eyebrow at his now sheepish looking twin.
"I learned my lesson okay! I won't forget it next time!" Now Jason raised an eyebrow, he distinctly remembered Danny saying this before when they went to an appointment with Frostbite before and had gotten lost on the way back.
"Danyal. Do you know a way out of here? Or do we have to find a way to contact Pennyworth, father or any of the others?"
"I know where to go!" Danny jumped up phasing out of the Speeder again to look at their surroundings through the windows. Before pointing in a certain direction. "That way! If we get to Far Frozen we will be halfway back to the Manor's portal!"
Damian and Jason both arched an eyebrow once more nearly in sync. It wasn't Danny's fault, okay it was, but they were losing trust in his navigation skills. Especially since both were sure they had rounded that dead tree on a rock five times now. Just as the other was about to start leading them in that direction a blast hit the side of his head and both Jason and Damian shouted his name in worry.
"I am okay!" Danny shouted flying up to them before dodging more blasts that came his way. Damian then pushed Jason off the Speeders controls. Stirring it to follow his twin brother who was still dodging another one of his rogues that had decided to attack them on their way home.
"What is today?! Come and attack Danny day?!" The half ghost shouted as he flew zig zags around floating rocks and dodged ecto-blasts from a ghost, Jason remembered Danny called Skulker. This was the second one to attack them today, and one Jason knew Damian liked the least.
Damian had a personal grudge with this one, once he learned that the ghost was after his twin's 'pelt'. Personally Jason found it sort of hilarious considering Danny gets hunted by this Skulker and Skulker is getting hunted by Damian whenever the Demon Brat caught sight of him.
Though Danny had explained it to them once that it was just his rogues living out their obsession, it still didn't stop any of them getting at least somewhat protective when these ghost rogues showed up. After all their attacks were once that could hurt their brother and aside from the equipment Danny had provided they had nothing else to protect him with.
Not that Danny needed to know that Bruce and Tim were already working on something with the information he had provided behind the twins' backs.
Still this was the second time they got attacked now and all just because Danny had to deal with some nonsense the Observers had called him for. Yet Damian and Jason were sort of unable to help Danny right now and could only stir the Fenton Speeder to follow him, but the speeder wasn't fast enough and they lost sight of their ghost brother.
Frustrated Damian punched the consol.
"Now what?" Jason muttered, eyeing all the green and floating rocks around them. They didn't know how to navigate that place no matter how often they had accompanied Danny into this dimension. They were even more lost now and Danny was somewhere, hopefully still somewhat close, getting hunted by Damian's least favorite ghost rogue.
"I am going to skin this ghost and make him wish he never died in the first place, and you won't stop me Todd."

DP X DC X Subnautica
Where the Justice League (mostly focusing on the Superfam or Batfam or Flashfam) are large leviathan-esque creatures living on Planet 4546B. Maybe they can change forms due to Precursor experimentation, maybe not.
Those with young hang out around the shallows more than the others, what with most of them being large super or specialized predators.
Enter Danny Fenton, interning on the Aurora when the ship is shot down by the Quarantine Enforcement Platform.
Oh sure he probably would have tried to stop the destruction and help, but his ghost powers are a bit on the fritz and a well-meaning worker pushes him into one of the last life pods seeing as he's a child.
Now the leviathans may not know what a ship is exactly, but they can definitely understand that in most cases things technology = precursors. As far as they understand, a metal deathtrap not unlike the old labs or caches fell alongside several metallic eggs, with the emerging hatchlings misshapen and not living long.
But then there's the egg that landed in the shallows, which at first they thought was empty. But a hatchling- much smaller than the previous ones- emerges, a day later than the rest, but they're alive even if their swimming is all wobbly!
It's so tiny, and obviously hatched too early with the strange split tail and how it keeps swimming to the surface for air, and they have to protect it!
Now if only the little hatchling would answer their calls and not dart into hiding spots whenever they approach...
Honestly this is up to the writer lol, but I like to think that Danny's ghost form, when he finally manages to achieve it again, goes a little naga-esque. Almost like a sea snake instead of just a whispy ghost tail, which while better for swimming doesn't help his freak out over most ghost powers still not working.
Danny is just trying to survive man, maybe find other survivors, turn off this big alien gun, stop creating frost crystals when he sneezes, the usual. He doesn't need giant humanoid-esque leviathan-sized sea creatures poking around!

Dear James - 3
| part 1 part 2
(cw for: accidental misgendering, prob the last part that will include this)
Hatred fills every part of him for almost no reason most times. He looks at James, his best friend in the whole world, and sees the last person who saw his sister alive. The person who she reached out to before she died and he didn't respond. And Sirius hates that. Hates him.
Sirius looks at Moony, the love of his life, and can't help the rage that bubbles up in him and he has no idea why. Maybe it's because Sirius doesn't understand how someone can love him after everything he's done, the words he's said, maybe it's because Remus was simply just a friend of hers once upon a time ago.
Sirius just hates Peter in general. How dare that man breathe in this universe after what he's done, after the friends he's killed. Sirius and Peter used to be close, but now every time Sirius sees him, in the newspaper, in old pictures of them, he wants to claw Peter's eyes out before shoving them so far up his arse they reach his intestines.
Sirius doesn't say anything though, he keeps it bottled up, it's better this way. He only unscrews the cap slightly with Remus, during sex mainly, when he can claw and scratch and bite without worry.
He doesn't tell anyone of the dreams, the dreams of a little boy with his sisters eyes and sharp angles and James' hair and smile, a boy that grows up happy and loved.
Sirius still remembers how the face became prominent in his dreams.
Sirius and Remus got into a row again, Sirius stomping out of the flat with harsh words and a 'don't wait up.'
He huffed down the street and does what he does every time he storms out. He stops at the local park. Sitting on a bench and watching children play, like he does so often; too often.
Sirius had always wished that he could be here with another purpose for once, maybe if his sister were still alive he would be here as an uncle, watching a little sprong run around with a big smile and a loud laugh.
He was lost in his day dreams when a body slammed into his leg.
Sirius blinked in shock when small arms wound around him and a small voice, one that clearly has a smile, spoke and Sirius was rendered speechless as he looked down. Dark skin and messy brown hair.
"Papa!" The little voice was French, or at least had a slight accent and Sirius' heart squeezed, "You're back early! How did you-" The little body looked up finally and froze.
Sirius' breath left him. Those eyes were so similar, eyes that Sirius had always hoped to see again.
The boy stepped away with a small frown, one that looked so cute with the baby fat on his face, round cheeks that made Sirius just want the small boy to continue hugging his legs because he wanted to bottle up those eyes, those familiar features, forever.
"You're not Papa." When the boy furrowed his eyebrows in an act that so reminiscent of the dead he once cared for so much he felt like screaming.
He tried to keep it together.
"Who is your Papa?" Sirius asked, and he pretended that his voice didn't crack. The boy didn't notice, or if he did he didn't say anything.
Instead, the boy squinted at him, tilting his head like a dog, like James, "I dunno if I should tell you." the boy said, "Papa isn't very pop-u-lar."
Sirius still couldn't stop looking. Looking at the grey eyes that seemed a bit too big for his face, and the baby fat covering what seemed to be pointed features, and messy hair in a familiar dark brown, and dark skin that seemed to be only slightly lighter then James'. Though it was a cloudy day, so what did Sirius know. It could all just be his mind, playing dirty tricks on him like it always does.
But Sirius still forced a smile, he thinks he was too shocked- haunted maybe- to cry.
"That's alright." Sirius shrugged, "I'm not too popular either."
The boy shook his head, "I dunno. Papa doesn't want strangers to know."
Sirius felt like his skin was crawling. An itch he couldn't escape, because now he has to know.
"How about I tell you my name, then you tell me yours. Then we won't be strangers."
The boy thought about it, but clearly didn't see a problem with Sirius' logic when he puffed up his cheeks and nodded.
"My name is Harry"
Sirius smiled, it was wobbly and his face felt heavy, but now he had a name to attach to the boy's face, a face that he knew he will use in daydreams and sleepless nights.
Sirius is aware of how weird that sounds.
"My name is Sirius."
He watched as the boy's toothy smile turned into a frown, Sirius watched as the boy looked him over before Harry's eyes widened and he took a step back.
Sirius watched as the boy looked to the sidewalk, almost in fear, and Sirius doesn't know what he did wrong.
Harry looked back, "Oh, um, I-" His eyes flicked back to the sidewalk and he cut himself off, eyes widening further and Sirius couldn't look away when the smile bloomed on Harry's face again. The boy started to run away, vaguely shouting back an apology. Sirius was sure he was already forgotten in the boy's mind.
Sirius watched him go. He watched as the small body slammed into a short man, he watched as the man looked down before he leaned down and picked the boy up.
Sirius was too far away to see the man properly, and even if he moved closer all he would see was a vague side profile, but he couldn't help but watch.
Sirius still couldn't be sure as he walked a few steps forward anyway, but the nose looked similar. Like the one he saw every day in the mirror, like the one he saw in memories.
Sirius watched the man walk away with Harry and he felt crushed. Like something was taken from him with no reason for why.
He went home to Remus that day stumbling through the door, alcohol on his breath, and holding back tears.
James looks similar now, as he trips out of the floo, clutching a now wrinkled letter in his hand.

[IMAGE ID: A black and white ink comic page broken into two images.
Panel 1:
Coven scouts Severine and Steve are startled by a "BANG!" as they stand guard outside Caleb's dungeon-like door.
Panel 2:
Severine looks into the small, barred window as Steve looks on in concern.
"Throwing books again…" Severine reports.
"This is exactly why Emperor Belos keeps him in there," Steve says, "He'd hurt himself otherwise."
At the bottom of the panel, sound effects: "WHAM," "THUMP," "SLAM."
Panel 3:
Severine and Steve return to standing guard, worried, as the entire panel fills up with "BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG" behind them.
"I prefer the days when he just mumbles a bunch of nonsense," Severine says.
"Speak for yourself!" says Steve. "The first time I did this shift he kept ranting about the end of witchkind. Crazy stuff, man."
Panel 4:
An outdoor shot of a bustling street in Bonesborough. There are many witches and demons going about their business, including Luz, Gus, and Willow in the background, and Amity walking in a different direction.
"Poor Emperor Belos," continues the previous conversation. "I don't know what I'd do if wild magic drove someone in my family mad."
On the wall in the foreground, attracting the gaze of passersby, hangs a large poster depicting Caleb hunched in his wheelchair. It reads, "REMEMBER METANOY'S MADNESS, BEWARE THE DANGERS OF WILD MAGIC."
On another wall in the background, a smaller poster bears the silhouette of Caleb's profile and reads simply, "BEWARE."
