while i work on catching you all up on the rest of present's story, i think you eserve some fun facts about her and the world she lives in! Let's start with the world!

the story she's in is collabrative (or, maybe roleplay would fit better, but we've been calling it a collabrative storyline so. pbt.) most of the characters don't belong to me, instead belonging to 2 friends of mine (waves. hi eph and pup)

the world is made of like. 4 (known) dimensions. theres the normal universe, the 4th Wall (an endless white void with a grid pattern on the floor and a forest one of the gods planted), the Inbetween (which sits between the 4th Wall and the normal universe, it's a black void filled with Things), and hell.

there have been like... 8 gods so far. 2 of them got turned into babies. ones a cat. ones an object that got murdered and turned into a ghost. ones a fox that the oldest gods decided to fuck around w/. one of them's present.

the gods have 3 basic forms (or. 2 and a vessel.) Their normal, godly form (typically humanoid but never exactly human, the newer gods stray farther away from human than the older gods). A face form (which while mainly because it's easier to draw also only allows certain, allowed objects to see them in this form), and an Object form or Vessel (typically just a vessel, unless the god was an object at some point, like present!)

there are a few species outside of regular objects (though most will prolly not come up in my summary of present's story). They are: Shapeshifters, Body snatchers, Mimics, Demons, and also like One Entire Vampire.

Certain magics are invisible to the naked eye, while others are visible. However, there are like. 2 objects who can see invisible magic as well as visible magic (along with certain supernatural creatures, specially ghosts.) One of these objects is one of present's girlfriends, Baton.

The world has almost ended like. 5 times. Surprisingly, despite being prophesied to be the one who saves the world, she has had almost no hand in helping with any of these world ending events (mostly because none of the other gods thought to tell her much about the situation)

the gods have divine weapons (though they dont need to really be weapons. one of them has a watering can and one has a dog treat.) Present's is a violin bow (literally) and rapier! dont ask how the string attached back if the rapier is unsheathed i dont know either. magic prolly.

now to present specific fun facts!

She has a fictional condition which, when in a lot of stress (or feeling to high of any emotion, really) her body temp. gets so high she catches on fire

she also has an anxiety disorder. so you know. Wonderful mix!!

she currently works at an ice cream shop run by an employee of Litterally The Worst Company Ever (BBC (Big Boss's Crew)). It's a cover-up to try and find canidates to hire at the actual company.

She has 2 very accidental children, one being a kid named Hattish which baton adopted while present was still on BFP (hattish may have also kidnapped baton but we dont need to worry about that) and Phoney, a cell phone that just. Came alive while Snowglobe, present's other girlfriend, was calling her and baton.

when she has any free time (which is a bit rare atm) she writes music! she hasn't properly published any of it, but im sure she will at some point.

present (like most gods) can create magic arms, however she actually doesn't use them too much if she can help it. she's lived her entire life using her legs or mouth for stuff, it's a bit hard to get used to using new limbs after only a few years!

she doesn't like using most of her magic unless it's needed or someone asks. (mainly because she used to not be allowed, but also she's worried of accidentally hurting someone with it.)

after the first near world ending disaster, she thought she would be returned to her normal object life, and have her magic taken away from her.

she was wrong.

she wishes she was right.

she doesn't like the color purple too much, as it reminds her of fog.

but the color purple also reminds her of one of the gods, which is one of her best friends, so she doesn't hate it!

she started wearing wrapping paper as part of her transition! it's an incredibly personal thing to her, and the only people that have been allowed to help her put on wrapping paper when it gets fucked up (or when she wants to try a new color combo) have been family, her childhood friend Candy heart and her girlfriends.

she has scopophobia, meaning she hates looking and being looked at. the only people she wants to look at her are baton and snowglobe (she doesn't mind other people she's close with looking at her for a bit, but she still freaks out if it's for too long)

that last thing is important, mostly because the only she's worse at than reading other peoples feelings is reading her own. and the fact that she wanted those two gay fucks to look at her was what helped her realize "oh hey. fuck. love is a thing, huh. and im feeling it. goddam"

Favourite Tropes

I'll try not to get weirdly specific. Disclaimer that these are probably not listed on trope sites because I don't often listen to those lol.

Discovery of Magic: honestly, theres nothing better to me than seeing a character suddenly discover a whole new layer to reality and consequentially freaking out, not knowing what to do with the magic or themselves.

Enemies to Lovers: you get it. I made a whole post analysing this one. Also, love/hate relationships. In both romance and friendship.

Forbidden Love: will I ever stop writing this? No. The idea that those two characters were not supposed to get together, but do so and blossom anyway, is just so nice to me. 10/10.

Conspiracy Theories: mentioned this in a previous post. There's something about stories where the conspiracy theorists (in that world) are right, or where the crew uncover a big conspiracy, that just makes me :D

Magic School: I'm sorry. It trapped me too. I just really like it. Kids doing dumb stuff, but with powers? Sign me up. Bonus points if it's magic but in school, and the school isn't for magic nor knowing of it. Like, if someone finds an ancient magic artifact in the janitors closet.

Favorite Character Archetypes

I'm not a follower of archetypes, but I know a few I really like.

Everyman/Everywoman: a regular person being followed through some twisted disaster, giving us a glimpse of what the average life is like in that world. I really love this one, and it gives a breath of fresh air to all the 'chosen one' stories you get, at least in my opinion.

Anti-Hero: a protagonist who lacks morality and other behaviours or traits that a hero normally would. As if we're following a bad guy, but the actual bad guys are worse. Gosh, I adore this trope. Really sets a story apart, and counteracts the problem I see every day of a protagonist being too flawless.

Non-Confirmist: someone who will smash down the rules and all widely-accepted beliefs of 'normal'. Absolutely iconic every time, and works as an antagonist, protagonist, or a friend of the protagonist. A surprisingly flexible archetype.

The Bureaucrat: didn't know what to call this, but Google had an answer. A character who is a total suck-up to the rules and laws, placing them over their own sense of morality. Nothing more to say other than an enemies to lovers with this character and the non-conformist.

Peacemaker: a character archetype that can go wrong in many ways, but one I can't help but love. Someone who tries to achieve peace at almost all points possible is a great character type (sometimes) as you get a brave, caring character who may work to reform rather than defeat villains, helping the villains display their individual personality in a lot more depth.

today went a lot better than yesterday for the most part! it became an absolute disaster right at the end though with trying to get them to change back into their clothes in the locker rooms after swimming (yesterday had just used the bathrooms near our home room and that went fine but the combo of them thinking the locker rooms were cool and so many forgetting part of their dry clothing downstairs and the gendered lockerrooms being on opposite sides of the hallway made it so much. but the directors told us to use them now so. well see lol)

i think a lot of it going well did not have all that much to do with solving some of the biggest issues we had the first day (although i def found some small things that helped) though because i think they were just really excited we went outside to play with water balloons and then after lunch went outside to go to the playground and it was a nice day

still could notice the issue of kids saying every group game sounds boring without knowing anything about it and then just sitting off in the corner of the room and then theres not enough kids to play the original game and when we try to switch to one that works the kids just got excited about the first one and so then they might go off on their own too so then its just free play which is fine for a while but then kids get bored that theres nothing to do but dont want to do anything we try to start to fix that. but just didnt have quite as much of that because we went outside (which even the process of just leaving and coming back eats up so much time instead of constant new games lol)

so of course i want to try to go outside at least for one game each day when weather permits (and maybe theyll be more excited to have more outdoor time and also less likely to have locker room issues and also ill have to come up with less to do when the local outdoor pool they usually use twice a day is fixed so we arent using the middle schools pool were based in thats only available in the afternoon) but also who knows if theyll eventually get kinda tired of the novelty of going outside (although i think it at least somewhat helps bc in organized outdoor activities theyre more likely to try them bc they cant just walk to the corner of the room to color instead so they actually try the games and realize they enjoy them) so i also want to make sure to go to other rooms in the middle school we can use to mix things up more and limit diffusion of group activities. but also i think even in those contexts i want to better find a balance between picking the right battles. bc of course like if a couple kids really arent feeling it and are quietly coloring then thats harmless. but a lot of times not participating in group activities means doing a whole bunch of stuff everywhere and making it really hard for counselors to make sure all kids are safe and in the room (but also like even then its probably harmless to the kid but hard on us which is kinda hard to explain to them). so idk maybe ill have a guideline to at least try out activities before deciding whether or not you want to do them (i really respect their likes and dislikes and would emphasize constructive criticism about activities they try out but i do think this is a big part of it considering stuff like how yesterday a girl told her friend during free play that she wouldnt play uno with her because she hates it and then like 10 minutes later to someone else asking something about uno she said shes never played it before and doesnt know anything about what its like or how to play it) or a guideline that during certain times esp when theres less counselors, you either join the group game or draw/write/color quietly at the table right near by but no other active games or wandering. it makes me feel so strict though :(

i also do think maybe i just need to become a more theatrical person so i can get better at selling activities though lol. they got a bit more excited about activities i literally tried to start with them just by one of the directors projecting his voice more and acting a bit more goofy

it really makes me realize the difference in skills with this stuff. i think i do great when theres a decent amount of counselors during free play and i start engaging with kids in small groups playing. the kid i babysat from age 2-8 loved me and always told her parents how much fun she had. but that was play guided by her where i would listen to her and do whatever she wanted as long as it was safe while also proposing new options without forcing them. having like 2 adults to a group of 15 seven year olds makes it really hard toapproach things that way. part of that might be that kids are only just beginning to learn how to be considerate of others in certain ways, part of that might be i need to learn better ways of listening to all of the kids and incorporating that into what we do in a way that largely works out, but i also think part of that is just like maybe were kinda understaffed and also id be curious to learn more about the pedagogy of all this stuff. i think theres so much value in kids being in larger groups interacting with each other but the weird types of control that come with having relatively few adults guiding that both for safety in general but also maybe a lot of just like. liability when we are strangers to these childrens parents providing childcare for a job under capitalism is like. really weird to confront. i feel like a cop but i literally dont know a better way of navigating that aspect of everything within these parameters. curious to see what it could look like in a better world

11 Anti LO Asks

1. im sorry that pic collage literally looks like hades giving a peptalk to his 14 year old daughter before her first day in high school than his FUTURE WIFE. even the cutesy foot positions is what little kids/teens do?? also yeah you cant flip flop shes SO powerful and amazing but also hasnt proved herself?? like sorry, shes a goddess with a rich mom and countless awards to her name, the idea shes the most powerful bu also the underdog makes zero sense and only adds rachel cant write her well.

2. where is this idea the underworld cant grow life from and only persephone (to "prove" shes actually powerful) can make plants down there grow? the myths mention theres an thriving orchard there and countless fields of flowers and forest well before persephone or even hades showed up. i know rachel has no respect for the mythology but really, this is the best she can do? persephone doesnt need to "prove" shes powerful, rachel just needs to write an actual character, yet she doesnt even do that.

3. lets be real here, at least every character needs ONE drawback, ONE thing at the very least that others have over them (more patience, more cunning, better resources, more allies, richer, smarter, prettier, ANYTHING) ye rachel just CANT let persephone not be perfect and the best at everything and have everyone instantly fall in love with her, so shes just not a real character? her only "drawbacks" are seen as cute and "powerful" (naive, easily manipulated, can control her anger, etc) so??

4. persephone is probably good at everything because she's a fertility goddess... ergo her super womb 

5. LO Persephone took Psyche's butteflies, she took Demeter's scythe, sickle, and fertility/earth goddess powers, she took Aphrodite's unique beautiful status, she even took Athena/Zeus/Apollo's status as the most powerful deity who can change the world order if they wanted to. Like, must every other god have their symbolism, powers, and even important items taken away from them for Persephone's benefit?

6. yeah the "apollo is a sun god" stuff is easily one of the biggest giveaways rachel is taking out her ass and doesnt actually know a thing about the mythology she so readily claims to be an expert in, and tbh doesnt even get the later roman stuff either.

7. For the Sun God stuff, Artemis was also called Phoebe which could have helped her connection to the moon. There was also the weird thing with her connections with Trivia (Hecate) and Luna as Diana Trifomis. She usually took center stage in that trio which could’ve helped the Romans just attribute Magic and the moon to her and thus Artemis as her Greek equivalent

8. the thing is isnt even helios framed as bad in LO? like his version of the AOW was proven a big lie and even vindictive against persephone, so are just just supposed to buy everything and everyone outside of the underworld (or really, everyone who doesnt kiss hades and persephone's butts at every single moment) is the worst?

9. rachel literally thinks hades being a god of wealth means he owns ALL the natural resources (which in ancient times would literally only be rare metals and gems, the idea itd also include gas and petrol or whatever is such a gross modern idea and tbh evil considering the global climate disaster we're all currently in, so is he the cause of it??) but also him making his wealth off the backs of literal SLAVE LABOR so yeah, kinda clear rachel is not exactly the expert she claims to be.

11. honestly, if the only way rachel can "prove" persephone is this deep, powerful character is only through saying shes better than everyone else, then persephone actually isnt. yes theres a hierarchy with the kings and hera on top, but the gods all had different strengths and weaknesses, persephone included, but they were all powerful and respected. the idea persephone HAS to be better than everyone else to be deemed "powerful" is both bad writing and a terrible read on the mythology itself.

T: Really?

J: And I thought how fun it would be if everyone wore a costume. What do you think, Leader? The world is a pretty dark place at the moment, right? The State of Emergency has lifted though, and we're allowed to have a little more fun now, so I've been wanting something to look forward to. So how about everyone going to see Dir in costume? What do you reckon? Its just an idea.

K: Yeah, thats ok.

J: Ohh, its ok?!

K: Well, its Sweeny Todd...well, what else can I say? I don't know.

T: Why did you want to do Sweeny Todd?

K: Well, as for doing some serious, shocking costume...well, I don't want to give out spoilers, but we've just been doing some filming before this, haven't we? So there wasn't much time, and I thought this would something I could pull off and still be scary.

J: I see. 'Is Kaoru Johnny Depp?'

T: Ah, it says 'lets have a close up of Kaoru!'

J: Cameraman, come closer. Wehhy, service shot! haha.

T:We got it!

J:We'll need a close up of Tasai too, in that case. 

T: Oh, im sorry.

K: Yes. We really were just in time.

K: Well, I ordered the clothes from the person who normally makes my clothes, and had them made.

K: And then I just put on white make up, and got my hair done by a pro.

so uh last night at like 4 am i couldnt sleep, decided to walk my dog, and came up with this bad boy. It’s a rough draft, though. um @professional-benaddict read it and told me to post it, so whatever rafni says goes. 

-Little! Peter with like everyone lmao (platonically), but main pairing is Tony x Peter. everyone is 18+ and Littles are known. but yeah, I call this “uncanonically Canon AU” because it follows canon character tropes (except Peter).

so i LOVE the doctor trope w stephen and tony to death, like probably a lil too much, but hear me out

--canon tony and the avengers with not canon (aka powerless) little peter

--im thinking how they met is before peter became classified as a little, he was smart smart. so, he still gets the internship, but a real one this time.

--hes hanging out with the other interns when he feels himself regress. he freaks and goes to hide in a bathroom or something

--he runs into (probably pepper??) someone and they help him get out of the tower because he's obviously very vulnerable

--they (pepper?) take him to the hospital to get tested and find out hes a high care little. once they find out peter freaks out because omg he cant work like this

--(pepper?) assures him that they will figure it our, but with no CG, and just for plot sake, he also is living alone at this point so they dont feel comfortable sending him home, so he stays overnight, at least, in the hospital

--(pepper?) goes to talk to tony himself about this since hes the one who chose and hired the interns. tony isnt quite sure what to do because peter is one of the best in their group

--(pepper?) suggests that he go have a one on one talk with peter and see what the boy wants to do with his future, and also meet with the doctors to see what they think is best for his future

--now, tony has met peter a few times, and the kid is pretty cool, but he never really cared about him (harsh, but canon tony is pretty reserved so yuh) so, when he goes into the hospital room to talk with him, hes mentally preparing to never see peter again

--but, when he walks in, he sees peter sat on a cot carefully coloring in an avengers coloring book, and his entire aura is different and /adorable/

--as if he wasnt already kinda done for, when peter notices he's there, he looks up, eyes blown wide and a kid-like face on full of awe

--he sits on the end of the bed and they simply stare at each other before peter finally gets the courage to ask why tony is there, stuttering through it like an adorable mess

--tony freaks out, because as good as peter is, he planned on letting peter down, but now that hes here, all he wants is to see the boy.

--instead he smooths his nervousness and easily asks about how the boy is doing. he asks if peter has a CG, and predicably, peter just sadly shakes his head

--anyways i dont really know how this part would be worded, and it probably wouldnt happen in just one day, but eventually tony asks peter if he wants tony to take care of him

--peter is a cutie and accepts, again dont really have this part planned out, im akward when it comes to writing about the adopting of a little

--he goes with tony and since he lives in the tower, he also gets the avengers as glorified CGs. now this is the part i LOVE

tony stark- he's obviously the main man and does all the main caring. hes the one who sleeps with peter and makes sure he gets food, and plans the days. he also sometimes will hand make little gadgets (safe ofc) to occupy peter. he gets peter little engineering/inventing kits and will hold back any groans he has as peter hits his leg with a plastic hammer and screwdriver. he also is the one who is ALWAYS there, when he cries, when he's happy, when he's sad.

thor- he lets peter play with his hair, and even lets the boy snuggle, and sometimes even chew on, mjolnir (because of course peter would be worthy)

steve rogers- he lets peter look at and hold the shield. one day he finds the boy curled like a cat dosing on the inside of it

natasha- she speaks in russian to him, and when he goes outside to the park, shes there making sure no one disturbs him

wanda+sam (i had an idea for them when i originally thought of this, but i cant remember it now :/)

bucky- he lets peter also mess with his hair, although more rare than thor, but he does let peter suck on his metal fingers when hes really small, and will scratch peters scalp with it, the metal scratching much better than normal skin. also if he ever gets a fever, the cold of the arm feels amazing on his forehead

bruce- not strictly canon since hes more sciency than doctor, but i imagine bruce is the one who does checkups and takes care of the meds when peter is sick

stephen- he doesnt do it often, plus he's not at the tower much, but hell do little harmless "magic" tricks to excite Peter and when peter gets grumpy, stephen will give him a little stress spell thing to calm peter down

peter quill- i imagine hes the one who is down to do lots of fun stuff, but is also the most reckless towards the actions suited towards littles, getting a lot of scolding from tony. also, he has great taste in music, so when peter has bursts of energy, he'll bounce around the room dancing to old 80s music

rocket- hes the closest peters ever gonna get to a pet, and with lots of bribing from tony, rocket /occasionally/ lets peter pet him and feed him "treats", sometimes peter will ask rocket to do a trick like jump or spin, but rocket with always decline...at first. peters trademark pouts do the trick because either rocket will concede and hurt his pride, or tony will see and threaten rocket into making his little boy happy. its always worth it to see the happy little squirms and claps

gamora- she's the resident story teller. when its bedtime, she'll share her cool space stories, leaving out the gory/scarier aspects. it always does the trick as hes out in minutes. sometimes hell catch her and peter q engaging in loving activities (ie kissing, hugging, whatever), and he'll just giggle away, and as embarrassed as gamora gets, not being an openly affectionate person, she might just go to the extreme to hear the cute giggles out of the little boy

clint- hes pretty chill with peter. he also likes to play games with the boy, playing things like peek-a-boo when he's super small, or playing darts when he feels older. tony isnt /too/ happy about it, but its better than quill so he doesnt say anything.

pepper is there too because i love the idea of tony working away somewhere and pepper calling peter in, handing him a few sheets of paper, sometimes actual documents, sometimes just scratch paper to entertaim the boy, before asking peter to deliver them to tony. she always has a smile when peter eagerly nods with his whole body before running to the office to give tony the papers. it almost always ends with peter in his lap, but it /always/ ends in tony praising him, saying something along the lines of 'theres my little helper boy. look at you'

--on any particular day peter wakes up aged up, he doesn't even miss his old internship because this life is so much better, although on these days tony actually lets him help with some safer stuff in the lab with him

--also, they are still the avengers and still have to save the universe. tony leaves him in the care of Happy or Pepper, trusting them both to handle him. sometimes, it ends in disaster. sometimes, they are lucky enough to find happy laying on the couch, with a drooling little boy soaking his suit

--no matter how things end up, it never gets old being able to come home and cuddle up with the reason tony wants to save the universe.

--its no surprise peter is able to help the man just as much as tony helps him. tony stops locking himself up so late at night so he can put peter to bed and cuddle up. he stops drinking when he's stressed, instead finding his boy and reading a story to him. his hookups end, he wants to be there for peter all the time. he gets more work done, the added bonus of having a pretty little boy in his lap helping keep his mind on track.

--tony still has his canon issues, but having peter there makes everything a little more manageable. and when he eventually gets too old to be ironman, its okay, because his universe is lying in bed, a red pacifier in his mouth, and a family of superheroes softly arguing about who the boy loves most

--and despite tony being a narcissist, he knows this is not that, when he thinks that without a doubt he is peters favorite. after all, peter helped him see the good inside the bad

honestly theres only 191 wentzporta fics and most of them look pretty good because wentzporta is the only bandom ship that matters and thus the people who write it are better than everyone else

The Boys+Baby

Was in the mood to write some fluffy family headcanons. So have the boys with their first born.

*Pregnancy warning*

Raihan

Raihan loves kids. Raising baby pokemon is one of  his favorite things to do as a trainer. Now he has his own baby? Hes ecstatic.

Gets all sorts of matching family outfits for him, s/o, and baby.  

Sets up a very aesthetically pleasing nursery. Its storybook themed. With all sorts of dragon plushies and fairytale books. 

If s/o is pregnant, he'll want to take all sorts of belly progress pics. Not so much for social media, more for keepsakes. He plans on starting a photo album full of pregnancy pictures and babies firsts. It's what his parents did for him and wants to continue the tradition.

Always reading to baby before bed. Even if s/o is asleep, he'll whisper. 

In the hospital, he'll be their rock. He'll get whatever you want. Squeeze his hand as hard as you need. He knows the importance of keeping calm, so he'll keep his cool.

Until they come out. He'll tear up and hold them as close as possible when he gets to hold them. 

The trainers in his gym are all good friends. So when that baby comes home, there's always someone offering to help out if they need it or bring food because they know Raihan and s/o are tired.

All the pokemon love baby. There's always at least one of them guarding the crib at all times. Raihan likes to joke it's because dragons guard treasures. 

Piers

Out of the three of them, Piers is the one with most baby experience. Hes looked after Marnie all his life. This isn't his first Rodeo. So he isnt bothered about diapers and vomit and all the things that come with kids. 

Spikemuth being the close knit town it is, everyone is excited. The baby shower and bringing them home is going to be a town wide party and there's nothing he can do about it. They already have balloons and catering ready to go.

He and s/o work together on the nursery. The color scheme is very neutral with grays and whites. Though there is definitely a star motif going on around the room. 

Goes without saying Pier always sings to baby. It's how he expresses things, and his voice is so soft and loving.

If s/o is pregnant, he'll help do research and get parenting books so they both can stay informed. 

Despite all his reading and that Marnie turned out well, Piers is still pretty anxious. Though he doesn't want to say anything because he doesn't want s/o to worry. 

Marnie is working for that #1 aunt title. She immediately got a morpeko plush when she got the news. It was the kids first gift and it's now sitting in the nursery rocking chair.

In the hospital, despite telling them that it was only going to be him and s/o, and he would call when the delivery was over. There was still a bunch of team yell members in the waiting room with congratulations signs. Piers decided to put them to use and make them get whatever you needed whenever you asked. 

Despite all of Piers anxiety, he felt it melt away when first held the little one. He didn't cry, but was definitely choked up. 

Is always tired, more so than normal. His hair is always tied up. And when all else fails to calm baby down, his singing works wonders.

Leon

Giddy. Leon is so excited to be a dad. He's always liked kids. As champion he loved doing events and meet ups with children. He Hopes his kid looks up at him with just as much excitement and joy, even if he isn't champion anymore.

The nursery doesn't really have a coherent theme. There's wooloo wallpaper. Pastel sheets and curtains. A starter mobile. It's just full of cute things that they collected.

Got the baby a mini cap and Cape. No he will not take criticism. This baby will be a fashion disaster until they can pick their own clothes or s/o puts their foot down.

If s/o is pregnant, Leon is always going to feel for kicks. Even long before it's supposed to start that. When he does feel a kick, his face lights up every time.

Charzard is no better. It likes resting next to s/o and protecting them. He loves kids too and wants to keep them safe and warm. 

Leon doesn't know much about babies and pregnancy and its ups and downs. He'll look stuff up if he isn't sure and has called his mom or grandma more than once for advice.

Wants to get as much work at the tower done as possible so he has less to worry about when he takes time off. As a result, he can't be with s/o as much as he wants. He's enlisted Hop to be your little helper around the house. Hop does so happily (he's very excited to be an uncle).Though really, Leon over estimated how much help you would actually need and you and Hop mostly chill out. 

In the hospital, do not let Leon leave the room. Or else he'll probably go for a snack from the vending machine down the hall and somehow end up in the ER on the other side of the hospital. You won't see him until you have to start pushing. Do not let this man leave your sight.

Even if he's internally freaking out, Leon does his best to keep it together and support you. Squeeze his hand as hard as need, break it for all he cares. He's got you.

Definitely cried when he first held the baby. He kept blubbering about how precious they were. 

Once home, Leon definitely carries the baby every where in one of those slings across his chest. And yes, he will accept challengers like that. That kid is a heavy sleeper.

ive actually been a fan of wof for years now, im just not super active in the fandom and i guess id like to be? so here i am, sending u an awkward ask lol. anyways, the more i think about animus magic, the more i hate the way tui executed the concept? like theres barely any consequences or limitations. dragons can do whatever they want with it, which is bad for the plot. idk what are ur thoughts?

Hah, this isn’t awkward at all, I actually do have a lot of thoughts on animus magic, particularly how it differs in each tribe. I think giving each tribe different types of magic, as well as individual drawbacks on top of the general “you go crazy if you abuse your power”. Though I think the latter could have worked as more of a “if you use your power selfishly, it’ll turn on you” sort of situation? In my headcanons, each tribe has a type of magic they work best with, and a type of magic that puts strain on their physical form.

As the tribe closest in appearance to traditional European dragons, I like to headcanon Skywing animus magic as Weather and Element based. Stuff like creating storms and controlling wind currents is easy to imagine, but also magic pertaining to emotions, often fueled by the feelings of the animus themselves. A Skywing animus might find it easiest to use an object to better conduct magic, like a branch or, most commonly, crystals of different types. Skywing magic is what you would call “cast spells”, meaning they have no need to write or say what they wish to do, just think or “feel” it. As for drawbacks, emotional instability is kind of obvious, huh? There’s also bad weather being attracted to the animus, and parts of their body slowly turning into whatever object they used to channel their spells. As an example, using crystals in his spells might result in an animus’ scales turning into crystals themselves, whereas an animus that used a branch to direct air currents would notice her tail growing small twigs and leaves out from between her scales. The magic Skywings have most difficulty with is Herbal and Brewed magic. I feel since Skywing magic is very much based on action and emotion, it would be difficult for a Skywing animus to properly channel it in such a passive way.

Mudwing animus magic is perhaps my favourite to think about, it being what I call Herbal or Brewed magic. Mudwing animi specialize in potions and medicine, though this is more of an inherent tribe skill, their magic works best when imbued into food or drink. To continue with this technique, “power-ups” would be cool to see. Potions to give a dragon super strength or speed, or to keep their scales permanently warm so they can always breath fire. I think Mudwings would be most likely to use so called “magical ingredients” for their spells, as in the act of the animus using an ingredient makes it magic, rather than a normal dragon including it in their stew. I don’t feel there would be much room for drawbacks when it comes to Mudwing magic, so I’m gonna say there isn’t one. However, I will say Brewed magic is one of the hardest to perfect, as if a quantity of ingredient is even slightly off, disaster is imminent. Transformation magic is likely to be the hardest for a Mudwing animus to use. While Brewed magic is hard, it’s precise and a recipe can be done a hundred times for a hundred different dragons, and the effects never alter. Transformation magic is the opposite, in that the spell must be altered for every dragon, as every dragon is slightly different.

Next up is Sandwings! They lean most towards Written and Solar based magic. As you can guess, this means their magic is linked at least partially to the sun. Though they can’t control them, Sandwing animi often have very keen senses when it comes to the weather and seasonal changes. Change itself is a big thing for Sandwings, so seasonal magic is common. Sandwings also find writing spells easiest, as the spell is then precise and exactly as they need it. Sandwing riddles, told at parties or in passing as a fun conversation topic, have their roots in animus magic. Sandwing animi also enjoy the company of animal companions, usually camels or vultures; animals that can carry scrolls and items for the animus in question. The downside for Sandwing animi can be either mental or physical. They can start forgetting things, losing track of time, generally being scatterbrained, which eventually leads to them losing their entire memory. Or, their scales begin to darken, although I’m undecided on what kind of colour they would turn. Should they just turn golden or maybe more of a sunburnt orange or red. Perhaps even black. I dunno, maybe all three. Spoken and Lunar magic are the clear opposites of Written and Solar, so it’s pretty obvious why a Sandwing animus would have trouble in this area. Sandwing magic can be very picky, kind of like a sadistic genie that goes by what a wisher says, rather than what they mean. A dragon has to be very careful how they phrase a spell, which is hard for most Sandwing animi, hence their avoidance of Spoken spells.

I think my Seawing animus headcanon is the closest to being confirmed in canon, since the Seawing animi we see using their magic are usually using what I’ve called Spoken and Lunar magic. This includes regeneration(like healing of themselves and others), curses, transfiguration of objects and generally verbal commands. And for the record, “verbal commands” is usually, like the animus test the Seawings take, telling an inanimate object to do something. Lunar magic is connected to the moon and the tides, opposite to Solar magic. This can mean it gets stronger under a full moon, and gives a Seawing animus a kind of bond to the ocean the more they use Lunar magic. As with Sandwing animi, the magic that comes most natural to Seawings involves change. Changing tides, moon rotations, drifting currents and rips, all those factor into their magic’s strength, in and out of water. Seawing animi can also suffer a lowering of inhibitions, and can suffer what I call “going feral”. Theirs is the most noticeable, though this final drawback can affect all tribes. I like to think the more a Seawing animus uses their magic, the more they start to look like a deep sea creature. Brighter glowing scales, thinner scales overall(sometimes so thin you can almost see their insides, bleurgh!), elongated, thinner teeth, and increased speed of growth to their whole body. As you can probably guess, Written and Solar magic are the areas that cause the most trouble for Seawing animi. I’m not sure what else to comment here, since I feel it’s pretty straightforward, so there you go.

Rainwings! The tribe I’m most like! I feel that since the average Rainwing can change the colour of their scales regardless of magical ability, Transformation magic would be a perfect match for any animi that might exist in the tribe. Transformation magic includes form shifting of themselves and others, body hrror/torture(which differs from simple form shifting because it’s specifically supposed to cause pain) and transfiguration of objects. Transformation magic requires knowledge of how the specific dragon’s body works, moves and how their mind reacts to things. You might think the average Rainwing is too self-centered to be capable of that kind of perceptiveness, but I believe they’re more perceptive than they’re portrayed in-canon. I think the most noticeable consequence of a Rainwing animus using their magic is their scale colours “glitching”. If the Rainwing is naturally purple and green and they try to turn red and blue, areas of their scales might change slower than the rest, or not change altogether. A camouflaged Rainwing might suddenly find themselves bright pink and orange. Stuff like that. Weather magic is most difficult for a Rainwing animus, since it requires a lot of, I guess passionate emotions? Weather magic is loud and aggressive and takes a lot of power to control. It also relies heavily on being strongly connected to every emotion, and can backfire terribly on a dragon that doesn’t know how to wrangle that kind of power.

Mind and Time magic is what I’ve assigned for Nightwings! I felt it fits with their whole Mystical Infinite Powers aesthetic. Obviously, Mind magic includes mindreading and and Time magic future vision - which were most likely a gift from a Nightwing animus a long time ago. Other abilities include fate writing(a spell that can change an otherwise unchangeable future), enchanting, illusions, and changing minds/the perceptions of a dragon. This magic is actually relatively simple to perform, and one of the most used types by all animus dragons. That doesn’t make it any less powerful or dangerous, in fact it’s probably more dangerous that it’s so easy to use. Nightwings certainly haven’t been using it for the best purposes. This is the magic I think is the root cause of dragons losing their minds, since “Mind” is like one whole half of the magic. The unfortunate thing is that Nightwings are excellent bullshitters, so they at least last a while before anyone figures out something’s wrong. The side effect of using other types of magic is most notably scale discolouration, to the point that there are records of completely white, full-blood Nightwings. Since Icewings and Nightwings are Enemies For Life I figure their magics would clash just as much, out of principal. Reflective magic in particular requires the user to be self aware, to know their faults and, if only momentarily, be at peace with them. Nightwings are pretty in denial about a lot of stuff, it’s part of the culture they’ve built up.

Finally, Reflective and Defensive magic is the natural inclination of Icewings. That means shielding and barrier magic - which can be physical or psychological, insightful magic, illusions and star spells. No insightful magic is Not future vision, if you make that comparison in front of even a regular Icewing you will be murdered. The Icewing mind is typically pretty guarded already, as we see when Moon tries to read them. I like to believe that an animus a long time ago used their Gift to make it so Nightwings can’t read the tribe’s minds, or at least not easily. This would be an example of a psychological barrier spell. Star spells are tied to the stars(no duh) like Solar and Lunar magic are tied to their respective namesakes. However, as opposed to change, star spells are constant. Once one is cast, it stays forever. Almost all Icewing magic is a star spell of some kind, making other dragons very wary of an animus born from the tribe. Thankfully, the fact that Icewing magic includes that of Defense, it’s rarely used for aggressive purposes. I believe Icewing magic would backfire by crystalising within the user’s bones, making their joints stiff and their mind fuzzy. They may dissociate from the world and eventually be lost, as with Sandwings. As I said, Icewings and Nightwings are opposites in magic, though there are overlaps which serve to infuriate both tribes. Considering Nightwing animus magic supposedly came from Icewings, the former retained some of the abilities of the latter.

There you are, my thoughts on dragon magic. This turned into much more of a headcanons post than an answer, so I hope you don’t mind. Thanks so much for the ask, and I hope you find content creators that make you feel safe being active in the fandom!

*pounces on the Fic Friday event because your commentary/analysis waters my crops* Where do you think Douxie picked up his nurturing instinct? He takes to "parenting" (for lack of a better word) Nari rather quickly in "Saudade." Is it all from Archie, or do you think there was another period in his life where he had to take on that role? Also would I be asking for spoilers if I asked how Zoe and Nari get along? ✨

Oooh, delving into some fun stuff! So, a little bit about me, I’m the eldest sibling of 5, and I wrote Douxie as a youngest of 3, so not really the same thing going on here. I actually pulled my psychology class from last year into play a little, lol! Theres a lot of studies about youngest children, among them being that they’re often a bit coddled by their parents, and while I don’t think this was the case with Douxie at all, he shared the other traits quite well. They’re usually very persistent, much more likely to be risk-takers, more out-going, not really the strongest or the smartest in a room, often considered natural charmers, lol. So Douxie fit the bill.

Archie is a character I really want to explore just because of the way details from his life are presented. I don’t believe that Archie was originally a very good parent to Douxie — I’d be willing to bet he was often confused, anxious, and downright spoiled or let Douxie walk all over him. It seems that Archie had just a father figure in his life and no mother in the picture, too, not really sure about all that. But as Archie himself matured, he took more away from his father’s parenting in retrospect and sort of developed his own style that worked for him. But Archie at the same has to be his brother and companion; he wears many hats, and not just in the sense of being a shapeshifter.

But Douxie is sort of a mix of both his childhood, Archie’s parenting, avoiding Merlin’s methods, and just being a bit of a people watcher. Douxie honestly longs and aches for what he could have had in regards to a family. Everyone talks about just how important it is, and that stings for him. “Closest I ever had was [Archie].” And he doesn’t mean that in a rude sense, he just...hurts. And when naive, confused, uneducated and generally (previously) unloved Nari comes into his life, this is like his big chance to send a message(one involving a particular swear that he rarely uses) to the Universe. If he couldn’t have been loved and had a (healthy) family/relationship with parental figures, Nari sure as hell would have one. Archie has his hands full keeping track of Douxie most of the time, and Douxie just assumes the role of Nari’s new parent because someone has to adult. Douxie is determined to give Nari everything he never had because it’s the least he can do. He’s the sort of person who no matter what cards he’s dealt, will always try to be good to others. I’d like to think that over the years Douxie has also grown a fondness for those younger than him physically because he can often relate to them more than the actual adults do and generally goes through similar things. Douxie probably would really love to be a dad; but an adoptive father. He can empathize with all those kids out there going through similar things and Archie and Zoe and the law are probably the only things stopping him from adopting them all and giving them the love they deserve.

I’ve ever so vaguely touched on Nari and Zoe’s relationship in my published works, so it’s not really spoiler-y that much, but consider this answer a little treat lol. Nari is the younger sister Zoe never knew she always wanted. Zoe spoils her much like she spoils Arch, but then again everyone spoils Nari. Zoe doesn’t really like kids in general, mostly because of the maintenance and Douxie is more than enough, but Nari is like a game changer to this view, lol. Zoe “moms” Doux all the time because Archie is too likely to encourage dumb things as he is to stop them, and sometimes none of the three of them have the brain cell so it’s a huge disaster lol. But Zoe doesn’t quite “get” Nari’s naivety at first. She basically assumed she was on par with everything because she’s, yknow, a demi-god or something. Zoe also (very) unintentionally has the unfortunate tendency to upset Nari with her bluntness about situations because she’s not really on the empathy level that Doux is (this comes up in the next Chap of Saudade and briefly in my final Halloween fic). She definitely doesn’t mean it at all, and Nari has a hard time interpreting Zoe’s emotions/magic and aura because she’s closed herself off a bit and often shuts down when she feels emotions rising. I’ll get into this later, but as a hedgewitch with harder to control magic, Zoe has EXTREME emotional regulation ability so that she doesn’t accidentally hurt someone. It’s volitile magic. Ultimately they do tend get along really well, despite this, and I think once Zoe opens up to her a little bit we’ll see the softer side of Zoe. But as I stated in my earlier analysis she still has lots of lingering trust issues, unfortunately, and so walls are that much harder to bring down. Nari does her best to observe how Douxie handles Zoe’s emotions so that in turn she can be of comfort like the good little sister she wants to be.

Phew! That was unintentionally really long lol, but it was a lot of fun to write out!!

god i am OBSESSED with the idea of future sephiroth confronting gillian. does he already know she committed suicide when confronted by angeal and tries to plan around it or does he just. notice theres poison in her tea and. set it on fire or something. i have to admit i really enjoy sephiroths opinion on gillian in angels.

OH WOW this is a lot. Lol okay, I’m gonna put all these asks in one rather than stringing them out.

I’m not sure Sephiroth knows any details about what happened with Gillian, but he read the report where Zack presumably wrote down something about how Angeal seemed to have killed his own mom, and he got a sort of follow-up impression later from Angeal’s ghost on the general subject of suicide, so he knows what she did, very generally, and when, and what the fallout was.

I think this version of him is even more annoyed with her than he is in Angels in fact, because he knows for a fact her choice heavily influenced Angeal’s, so he’s going to tear into her about responsibility and abandonment and influence and stuff.

XD Probably going to get his own issues all over that one, too. Sephiroth...doesn’t compartmentalize well outside of his basic system of ‘all the feelings go in this box which I intend to leave closed and then someday die,’ which as we all know didn’t work out.

(I feel bad about Gillian in Angels, I totally had an opportunity to unfridge her and stuck her right back in the coldbox because I didn’t want to deal with her impact on the narrative beyond the established impact of fucking Angeal up worse, which I wanted to explore.)

ALSO elmyra is more put together right? like shes a functioning person? because i feel like her perspective on sephiroth and aerith stubbornly Not Acknowledging whatever the hell is going on would be really funny. at this rate im going to have to go hunt down playthroughs of ffvii and crisis core so i can write fanfic. i mean technically i could just write fanfic but it feels weird writing fic without having interacted with the source material at all 

Elmyra is a functioning adult yes but she is also very long in the habit of not prying into Aerith’s Weird. I honestly cannot guess what she’d do in that situation, we don’t see enough of her! I’d have to make it up.

...I feel like it’s likely being forcibly recontextualized would be likely to break her and Aerith out of their pattern of pretending nothing’s going on, since presumably Elmyra wasn’t in the habit of telling people a fraction as much about Aerith’s backstory as she unloads onto the party after her kid gets kidnapped by Turks.

And lmao I mean yes you can write fic based entirely on fic, this is a fandom where it’s pretty common, even. Personally I couldn’t bear to, I just didn’t feel I had a sufficient grasp. And I was right! The fandom incarnations are lacking. Once I had played through the OG I had so much more to say, and vastly more nuanced grasp of character.

Personally also I cannot endure game playthroughs? I get awful brain static trying. The pacing. The experience of being confronted with a UI that says I’m in control, but not having it. I die. But for people who enjoy them they should work fine!

Also last I checked the original FFVII was available on Steam for like $20? You could probably play it.

ALSO ALSO because my brain is a disaster of random connections i keep picturing an au of angels wherein both angeal and sephiroth have traveled back in time but they dont realize immediately that the other one is also back in time. because! i dont have any context or anything but if they ended up having the whole what would you want me to do if you went insane and tried to destroy the world conversation it would be hilarious. sephiroth, having every single mental breakdown imaginable: uh 

Hahaha AU crossing over one of my time travel AUs with the AU of my AU you previously proposed! Hmmmm yeah. I feel like they’d notice something was off before too long? But they might get to a version of the ‘what would you want me to do’ conversation lmao.

I think this Sephiroth would honestly give very intense and detailed instructions on how to shut him down and only then be like ‘why do you ask? what do you know.’

...if Angeal explained his timeline all the way up through Advent Children and DoC,  this version of Sephiroth would not take it well. 😞

also now im back around to thinking about angels and zack was first class when genesis started degrading so that's probably a ways off right? unless they find a way to avoid it entirely but. at least he'll be a bit less desperate when he defects? if he defects i guess but he's too dramatic to not defect. whats he supposed to do let angeal be the dramatic one?? also ALSO if angeal and sephiroth both traveled back in time i think that would make genesis the most stable member of their group. wild.

He was Second Class, actually! He’d been recommended for promotion but it hadn’t gone through. They ultimately moved him up to First for killing Angeal, if you can believe it. Ghoulish, huh?

Well, technically they mostly promoted him for killing Genesis, who was much more of a threat. But Genesis faked his death and Angeal didn’t, and it wasn’t not for killing Angeal. It was all the same mission. I have no idea how Zack copes so well.

But yeah, the officially released timeline for CC claims Angeal &co are only about four years older than Zack, but the timeframes presented in the actual games suggest Sephiroth should have died around age 25, which is far enough from 21 to make a difference, and fits their character designs better. So I’m treating them as being about eight years older, with Genesis as the oldest, so Angeal has about three and a half years to work with before degradation originally kicked in.

But the trigger for that wasn’t necessarily a certain amount of time, so he can’t count on that schedule.

What Angeal does have is a Lifestream-side perspective on how Genesis got healed the first time around, so he knows to focus on the spiritual end of things over Science, which he knows failed to help, and this ups his odds of doing something useful in a useful amount of time considerably.

XD Too dramatic not to defect. Well.

also back to the time travel au what would tseng even do about sephiroth kidnapping aerith?? like he was the main one watching her right?? hes just hanging out and then sephiroth??? oh now hes got aerith??? what is he doing??? whats tseng even supposed to do in that situation

I don’t believe they have the manpower to keep up a constant guard? Tseng certainly does do other things, they just. Check in on her sometimes.

I don’t think it was ever truly clarified in canon whether Tseng was covering for Aerith somehow all those years, finding some weird wiggle room in the phrasing of his orders so he could put off admitting he’d found her or taking her in indefinitely so long as he didn’t lose track of her and let her get away, or if Hojo knew where she was and was just like ‘whatever, I don’t need her back right now, just keep an eye on my specimen and make sure she doesn’t die or escape.’

So it’s hard to know what he would do when we don’t 100% know what his reasoning was for the things he already did, or what kind of oversight he’s dealing with! Tseng is a difficult character for that reason.

Some Improbable Season 5 Headcanons

Fair warning: These things aren’t going to happen. But while I’m obsessing, I sometimes imagine possible scenarios that would be interesting to watch play out. Perhaps a more industrious person would write these into fanfiction however, I am not that person. And so you get a half-assed  Tumblr post about my imaginings. Please enjoy:

1. What happened to the sword? I don’t remember, I just know that it broke and now Adora is unable to become She-Ra (Until she inevitably learns how to do so without the sword as Madame Razz was clearly insinuating was possible to Mara) But I like to imagine that she lef the pieces of the broken sword where they lay. I also like to imagine  a scenario in which Hoard Prime has his clone minions doing recon on the new planet and they find the pieces of the sword. Later, they bring them back to the ship. 

Skip to a scene where Catra and Glimmer are present, perhaps being questioned about someone his troops have heard about called She-Ra, a defender of this planet. He wonders aloud if this She-Ra will be someone he will have to contend with, only to have one of his troops present the broken pieces of the sword. “I don’t think you’ll have to worry about anything like that, Sir. I have it on good authority that there is no more She-Ra” (Or something like that Idk how they talk) He smiles, meanwhile Catra and Glimmer poorly try to conceal their reactions. They have both been operating under the assumption (hope) that since the planet survived, that Adora did too. Not knowing that Adora shattered the sword herself, tey are now faced with the horrifying realization that perhaps Adora didn’t make it out of this and that for both of them, their last interaction was horrible. 

I like the miguided assumption that Adora has died, mostly because I want to torture the two of them a little for being butts, but also because often people don’t appreciate what they have until they lose it. Even having “lost” Adora like Catra did, she still saw her regularly. They still interacted, even if those interactions were fighting or exchanging snarky banter. Even if someone hates you (Which Adora clearly doesn’t, Catra, you’re just being self destructive)  that hatred is still a form of ackowledgement- It’s not the same as losing someone entirely. I want to see the two of them (But mostly Catra because she’s my favorite little disaster) forced to face with the reality of Adora’s “death” Especially since in Catra’s case it’s sort of like getting what you asked for and realizing that it wasn’t what you wanted at all. 

I want Glimmer specifically to witness Catra’s reaction to this news as a way of gaining a deeper understanding of the relationship between the two of them. I feel like Glimmer has never viewed Catra as very nuanced, instead just grouping her into a box, labeling it “villain” and calling it a day. Realistically she’s never had any reason to consider any of the layers of Catra’s character but I kind of find it odd considering that Adora used to be best friends with Catra. Has Glimmer really never wondered why? Never thought that somewhere under all the snark and barbs there must be a reason why Adora loved her  was her friend in the first place? 

Lastly, I’m a sucker for a dramatic entrance, and if they think that Adora is dead, they’d never expect her to show up, which leads to self indulgent imaging number two...

2. Sneaky spy Adora. I feel like I am perhaps giving Adora and Bow too much credit here because espionage has never really been their strong suit, but imagine for me if you will a scenario in which they decide to be subtle. The two of them sneak onto Hoard Prime’s ship and do some spy work, trying to decide on the best course of action to take him out and get Glimmer home. This would be a great opportunity to give Adora a much needed costume change and while realistically I know that the whole vibrant 80′s theme isn’t going to allow it, I would love to see her in black. Also something backless, but that comes into play later in part three. This all ties together. I’ve had a lot of time to plan this. 

So they sneak in and while like, peering out from an air vent or something (Idk the make up of the ship ) she is shocked to see that Catra is there too and that while she and Glimmer still snap at eachother and exchange dirty looks and stuff, they are reluctantly working together. I imagine their situation is sort of like, they come out and do various activities on the ship, whatever Hoard Prime deems them useful for, but they are locked in a cell overnight. Adora observes both situations while trying to get the layout of the ship and formulate a game plan.

I’m not going to say that Bow having actual real live pointy arrows made for long distance stabbing would be an advantage instead of his like, novelty prank arrows buuuuuut..... I know that this is a kid’s show but there are other cartoons that allow characters to get stabbed and stuff like, it could happen. It won’t buuuut anyway....

While running around the ship (in a dramatic hooded cloak that covers her face because of course, what do you take me for) and like, sabotaging things and preparing to dismantle this whole operation, Adora runs into perhaps both Catra and Glimmer but at least Catra (Because sorry Glimmer, I do actually like you but like, I’m playing favorites hardcore here) Maybe she helps with something they’re trying to do and gets caught. They don’t realize it’s her but now this mysterious hooded figure is on their radar. And then when the actual attack happens Adora gets her big reveal and it’s super dramatic and they realize that not only is Adora alive, she was the one they met earlier and just. I’m trash for that kind of trope. Really I am. This then leads into the big battle which also leads into point number three...

3. This point is less concrete, but do you remember Adora’s backless number? Perhaps a black halter top of some kind paired with black pants? Yeah? This is why it’s important. When Adora and Bow finally make their move, Bow goes to rescuse the girls while Adora levels her attack on Hoard Prime. Catra and Glimmer are in their cell and hear alarms start going off. They startle, frustrated at being trapped and unable to know what’s happening outside.

 Then Bow shows up in his own dramatic black hooded cloak (He’s very happy to shed it and let his middrift free once more. It’s felt very unnatural) they’re shocked to see him. But like, it works because Catra probably knew that someone would come for Glimmer but it makes since that it would be Bow since Adora is “dead.” Maybe in a previous conversation (During the time in which the two hesitantly began bonding, because you can’t tell me that’s not where this is going) Glimmer expressed doubt that anyone would come for her after she did such a terrible job being queen. Anyway with Bow here, he and Glimmer hug and they make their escape, the three of them, during which someone questions Bow on what’s happening and he just says that Hoard Prime is being distracted.

Why is the rescue mission just Bow and Adora? Idk. Didn’t think that far ahead. Just go with it. Maybe the other princesses are waiting for their cue to join in later. Maybe it’s because there isnt any water or plants in space and they’re kinda useless. Maybe Entrapta will join in (She has to actually, so she can reunite with Hordak and then he has his whole amnesia thing but like, that’s not part of this. That is a seperate post) Anyway the important thing is that they aren’t here at this point. 

So, Catra and Glimmer are confused about who is distracting Hoard Prime and then, there we go. The dramatic entrance. They look and see Adora in her new outfit, mid-battle with Hoard Prime. And like. It’s a hard battle and she isn’t really making any progress on her own, but she’s fighting really hard and well. I feel like people often forget that Adora was top of her class back in the Hoard like, even if she isn’t She-Ra she’s got to be pretty bad ass and whether the show wants to explore this or not, I will.  I have a theory for this that I will expand on in just a bit. 

So they go to join her only to realize that theres like an invisible barrier preventing them from joining. Maybe it’s a security measure made to protect him from attack that she used to trap her in there with him, while simultaneously keeping his minions out. Maybe it’s just because I want Catra and Glimmer to be forced to watch this battle for a bit while Bow tries to disable the force field but it’s mostly because I’m shipping trash and I want Catra to observe two things.

The first is that Adora looks really cool in this new outfit. Also Adora’s hair is down because I like it that way. She has a new sword, one that’s just a sword and not a She-Ra sword. This one is just for wrecking shit. The second is that Adora is way better at fighting than Catra expected and when Catra expresses this sentiment Glimmer just looks at her like she’s fucking dumb and says something along the line of “I kind of assumed you were the brains of the Hoard, but you’re dumber than I thought if you think that Adora was ever ACTUALLY trying to hurt you.” Followed by, “It’s a shame you didn’t return the sentiment.” And then you get this moment of Catra just watching Adora being really kick ass, coming to terms with the fact that Adora never fought ALL OUT against Catra the way she is against Hoard Prime, like, Adora never tried to murder Catra. And then the last part of Glimmer’s statement sinks in and then Catra notices the claw marks scarred down Adora’s shoulderblades. The ones that she put there, because even if Adora never really tried to hurt Catra, Catra sure as hell never held back on her. And then Catra feels like shit because while I absolutely love her to pieces, she’s been kind of horrible and I want her to suffer a little more before her redemption. 

See why the backless top was necessary? Yep. Good. 

Anyway, predictably Bow lowers the barrier and they join the fight. Maybe Adora takes a bad hit and then Catra catches her or soemthing. The two look at eachother, both realizing that it’s been too long since they fought on the same side, but also silently acknowledging how good it feels. This is meant to foreshadow Catra eventually joining the good side permanantly. They all fight Hoard Prime and maybe the other princesses join in, but since this isn’t the final episode  (Maybe like episode 4 or so?) they don’t defeat him. But they DO do some damage and excape back to Etheria. 

5. This one fits in somewhere before the last point but idk where exactly. Honestly it’s not even important where this snippet goes but at some point Hoard Prime reads Catra’s mind. I don’t know if cannonically he can only read his clone’s minds, but clearly I’m not writing for the show okay, this is my pointless headcanon. I don’t even know the context but Glimmer is there too and Hoard Prime, maybe having grown suspicious of Catra’s loyalty, reads her mind and just drags her. He kind of taunts her for beign sad that her “mother never loved you” to which she snaps like “Shadow Weaver is NOT my mother.” And he just tuts and is like “But it feels like she is.”  And then they get to Adora  and Catra says something about hating her and he calls her out on it like, “Hm no, that’s not quite right is it? No, you love her quite a bit” And then he does that villain thing where they’re kind of talking to themself while filing through your thoughts and it’s like “She would be like your sister after all but oh, whats this? Oh, so not like a sister after all.” And he like, puts her on blast for being in love with Adora. And she denies it and he replies with “A shame you don’t actually mean half the things you say.”

Meanwhile Glimmer is there witnissing it because I don’t know if you can tell yet but like, I really want her to have a better understanding of Catra. I want Catra to understand Glimmer too, but I feel like that’s possible without physically dragging the truth from her like.... she’s not in a great place mentally but no one is worse than Catra, lets be real.

That’s absolutely the most self indulgent part of this entire mile-long post and I don’t even know what you’re doing still reading this. But if you were wondering what I imagine going down, it’s this.

So like, if anyone wants to write this out just tag me so I can see it, because I’d love to read it. But if not? Totally understandable. I’m more suprised you read it all because it is 100% a  self-indulgent conglomoration of all my favorite tropes, shoved together whether they make sense or not.

mcu spiderman rewrite/au i may or may not do

ok so first quick disclaimer! i do not hate the mcu spider man movies in any way!! i actually enjoy them quite a bit and have seen homecoming like 4 times! and i absolutely adore all the actors in the movies, especially tom, zendaya, and jacob 

but the problem w/ the mcu spiderman movies is,,, they’re just not spiderman. at least from a writing/thematic perspective, which sucks bc so much other stuff about them is great! like tom holland is the perfect peter parker, which is why it seems so close to being right, but with the way the script is actually written... it’s just. not spider-man. 

i feel the need to explain all this/my problems w/ the movies b4 i get into the actuall au idea/plot, so please bear with me for a sec

for context, I’ve loved spiderman my whole life. i’d watch the cartoons when i was younger, and then went back and watched them all again when i was a bit older and figured out how to pirate stuff lol. i didn’t really know how to get into the comics, so i just kinda read wikis and got second-hand info from fanfics and the other movies

to me, spiderman, (at least, peter parker spiderman,) was always about like... a kid, who saw the world was broken and fixed it because he could. he had the power to fix stuff, so he did. 

as a kid w/ mental illness and a not so great home life... that was something really really important to me. to see another kid out there, who’s been through some shit, but finally has the power to make stuff better, so he is! and it would make me think, maybe i can change stuff for the better, someday, if i just get my chance

but,,,,, the problem is mcu peter parker isn’t that. 

instead of becoming spiderman bc he knows there’s bad in the world and wants to fix it, suddenly his motivation is impressing tony stark?? and don’t get me wrong i don’t hate tony, but the way they wrote his and peter’s relationship basically trapped peter. he could no longer be his own hero, bc he was tony’s successor. and that's never who peter parker’s spiderman was?? he was never a follower, he was a trendsetter. he didn’t become spiderman for approval, hell he had dozens of newspapers constantly slandering him. 

honestly the following in someone else’s footsteps thing was always a miles morales thing. he had to step up to the plate and fill the shoes of a spiderman who had already existed for years and was beloved by the whole city. obviously thats not all he is and simplifying his character to that is incredibly obtuse, but i bring it up bc tbh alot of stuff w/ mcu peter parker is just straight-up ripped off from miles morales. like how peter now goes to a fancy private school, is no longer poor (which is a huge thing w/ peter parker’s character in like every other incarnation), has a living father figure, and is bffs w/ ned, who is a straight-up rip off of miles’s best friend ganke. (for the record tho i adore ned and jacob i’m def keeping him in my rewrite,,,, also i’m glad he’s in the movie bc having a plus sized poc protagonist thats not constantly mocked is incredible) 

so, i’m complaining about all this stuff lol but ur probably wondering how exactly how i wanna fix it lol,,,, 

first, give peter an arc thats more than just..... i want tony to believe in me. my idea for that is basically a type of thing where he learns to rely on others! bc like... peter isn’t good at working w/ others lol, he’d much rather do it all himself so no one else gets hurt. (like in the andrew garfield movies where he just,,,, webs his gf to a car so she can’t run into danger lmao) 

the plot would start at a similar ish position to homecoming, though tony never recruits peter for civil war. tbh not sure if it even happened but we’ll disscuss that later

peter’s been spiderman for a few months, after a trip to oscorp left him w/ a radioactive spider bite. currently no one knows about it, and he’s doing a pretty ok job of dealing w/ everything on his own. until he takes down a big bad, lets say rhino for now, and gains a ton of publicity. after stooping a hudge disaster he’s suddenly in the limelight, and catches the attention of one norman osborn, aka the green goblin 

now, quick sidenote. green goblin is genreally seen as pretty goofy, but there are comic versions of him that are legit terrifying. if im being honest i didn’t even know about that version until i read aloneintherains fic birds eating other birds so ig thats kinda ish how i’m imagining this version of norman? though alot more composed, like the man who could someday turn into that 

so norman becomes intrested in my boy peter, and starts sending ppl after him. possibly the sinister 6, but uhh maybe not bc tbh i think this “rewrite” needs to be split into 2 “movies”/works and i might wanna save that for the hypothetical pt2 (btw if i write this it won’t b for a while cause i got other stuff going on but ig if ppl are intrested i might write some snippits/make more content for it) 

so basically the main plot is peter dealing w/ all these big bads on his own, doing ok at first but later getting really fucked up, and eventually revealing himself to ned and mj which ends up being the only way he can save the day in the end. by relying on others! yay!! 

thats it for the main plot, but don’t worry y’all we got other stuff going on too lmao 

so, for one. my boy peter is realizing he has a crush and just,,,, freaking tf out. (i have yet to decide if it’s on ned or mj. or both. sue me) the crush isn’t definitely resolved in p1, but i imagine there’d be some cute thing of him suddenly realizing and freaking out and almost revealing his powers. 

thing 2! tony stark! he is still in here, and still a mentor to peter, but in a pretty drastically different way. one, he doesn't know about peter being spiderman. he doesn't even suspect it lmao. he just gets involved bc of.... some sort of reason bc peter is so smart. do i know why just yet? no. does it matter? probably but i’m writing this pretty late after i had school all day so i’m too tired to care 

bc tony basically gives peter a real internship/mentorship type thing, peter now has access to all this tech!! and all these funds!! fucking lit!! so he changes from his pajama suit to the fancy one, tho he actually built it!! which i feel like him making his suit is a really big really important part of his character. so it doesn't really have all those random things tony added, tho peter might add stuff himself. he gets Karan as a like assistant ai as part of his internship but she never gets put into the suit

for the fist part tony plays a super minor role but like,,,, the first part is about osborn taking an intrest in him, and him confiding in ned and mj. the second part norman is become progressively more dangorus and peter has to fight him and stuff, kinda proving he is strong enough to be spiderman/be trusted to the whole world, beyond just ned and mj. also him actually getting together w/ either one or both of them bc...... bc i want that. 

oh btw idk if tony finds out or not in p2? if he does it’s either at the end or in a scene like the one w/ may bc like. please imagine the shenanigans of peter and ned (who both have high intellegence but low wisdom) in tony’s lab, obviously trying to hide the fact that peter’s spiderman. like he walks in on them and peter looks all frumpy bc he’s been trying to change real fast, and ned’s shirt is messed up bc he just stuffed the mask down the front of it, and mj is just. chilling behing them. so tony just like assumes stuff and is like....aight.... have fun.... 

oh btw the last big change that i didn’t really have anyway to insert natrually into this,,,, so remember how i said ned was kinda a ripoff of ganke? well, the writers claim he’s a “composite character” so i figured, why not give him traits from other famous spiderman side character so he actually is a composite character! 

so like,,,, throughout p1 it’s referenced that ned has a kinda dickish estranged ish dad that he hates and his mom doesn't really like but kinda forces him too... theres some mentions of his dad wanting him to transfer to a private school and being kinda rich, bur he dosen’t want to bc he knows his dad is a total dickead,,,, anyway end of the movie we find out norman osborn is ned’s dad, and ned hates him even fucking more bc it’s like bitch?? u tried to get my (maybe) bf murdered?? tf?? and its lowkey bc he can’t reveal peter’s id, but then in p2 after norman takes matters into his own hands and tries to kill peter on his own ned just fucking yells at him while the man is in jail and is like fuck u lmao 

soooo thats my really messy au idea!! i’m really tired sorry if this is hard to understand or rude! for the record i have nothing against the ppl who adore these movie’s, i just think they could be better!
