so, I'm learning gamedev, right? ideas for games floating around in my head all the time and now that I[m properly medicated I can actually learn how to code and it's been great so far.
but I just realized something. if I get good at making games, I can make the things I've always wished I could play but that don't exist yet.
this leads me to the following: a first-person cockpit view mech combat game (a niche that's already tragically small) that's never outright pornographic or directly textually sexual but has the exact same violence-horny undertones of mechposting tumblr robotfuckers. different mech builds could have different AI cores with their own voice lines and personality quirks, and building reputation with them (by using tactics and weapons best suited to them, or doing other things that a given core just really likes, such as reckless behavior, airborne or melee kills, or firing fully charged slow-charging weapons) changes their dialogue to be more affectionate, protective, or violent. the embark/disembark cutscenes for getting in and out of your mech at the start and end of a mission would be unnecessarily drawn out and technical as machinery locks in around you, tubes slot into ports in your suit, etc.
perhaps there would be other NPCs, like a mechanic who installs your upgrades and a handler who guides you on missions, but the main focus would be on the bond between pilot and mech. is this just because I find intricately rendered machinery and distorted robotic voices hot? yes, yes it is.
idk, probably not gonna happen because it would be a huge undertaking, I've just barely learned how to code the movement system for a metroidvania let alone a first person shooter, I have no 3d art experience whatsoever, all that jazz. but it's fun to think about
#oh and of course it would have to have built in support for. ah. third-party peripheral devices#as an alternative to controller rumble. reinforcement for landing your shots or a feedback spike from taking heavy damage

ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 .ᐟ in which itoshi sae confesses to you
“i hope i'm making it clear to you that i'm not doing all of this for us to be just friends.”
...huh?
somewhere out there... people are drinking their boba tea, eating fried chicken, or partying at a club. the earth continues to spin and life goes on but somehow you were frozen in time. all while sae's words echoes in your ears.
“i hope i'm making it clear to you that i'm not doing all of this for us to be just friends.”
“i hope i'm making it clear to you that i'm not doing all of this for us to be just friends.”
“i hope i'm making it clear to YOU that i'm NOT doing all of this for us to be JUST friends.”
oh shit.
your train of thoughts stopped when you heard sae scoffed. “you're overreacting,” he said. “were you that oblivious?”
sae shakes his head and walks away. you immediately walked to his side and gently elbowed him as your eyes stayed on the ground and mind stucked on his words.
“what are you saying? i didn't even said a word or anything. you, however, dropped a bomb.” you said slowly and carefully, afraid that you'll say something different.
in your peripheral vision, you saw that sae place his hands inside of the side pocket of his track jacket as he continued to walk on the same speed as you.
“you were looking at me as if i grew two heads.”
“i think you did...”you sighed. “you're making my vision blurry with your confession back there.”
you hold your breath. then gulped. you hoped it was actually his confession because what was it if not that? sae just told you indirectly that he doesn't want to be just friends. of course, your mind would go on different directions just to end up on a single conclusion.
it was clearly a love confession.
the silence stretched between you then you felt sweat sliding down from your forehead.
what the hell? why am i the nervous one here? you thought.
you stopped walking while sae also stopped after a few steps forward. your gaze slowly slide to his back. sae's relaxed form made you nervous, thinking you were probably hallucinating earlier.
“do you like me, sae?”
sae turned his head to look at you. his hands still in the inside of his pockets and his expression unchanged and your focused was on his parted lips.
“you're such a clueless idiot.”
“do you?” your brow lifted, urging him more. “i'll stay oblivious if you won't say it.”
sae now turned his body around to you. his unfazed expression slowly and noticeable soften as he continue to pin you down with his longing stare.
“i do,” he slightly tilts his head. “thought i was obvious with it.” he hums.
you snickered then walked up to him. “no way, i had a feeling but you actually like me?” you shake your head with a smile then you lift your head to look at him.
“sae, that confession was so not romantic.” you teased.
he lift an eyebrow at you. “do it have to be romantic?”
“yes, it should make my heart beat fast and loud. it didn't, you know?”
lies. it's like escaping your caged ribs right now.
sae shrugged and turned away from you to walk. you immediately poke his sides vecause he chose to ignor you but he caught it before you can poke him for the third time. sae then pulled your hand to intertwined with his and put it back inside of his side pockets.
oh, so he do likes you.
notice how i slip gnarly there ehe ( ¬ᴗ¬)

Romance Is Not Dead | jjk

↳ 𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬; it’s valentine's day and you're single
⇢ 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: brother's best friend!jungkook x reader
⇢ 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞: fluff, angst (?)
⇢ 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: explicit language, mentions of sex (it's mentioned quite a lot), reader's brother is kinda dick, alcohol usage, men (that deserves a warning alright), drunk people (it's a party), angst (?) honestly I'm not sure if there's any angst but it's a story with a few realistic topics that are kinda sad if you think about it, it's not your average fluff story lol
⇢ 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 7.7k+

a/n: happy valentine's day! mind you this was supposed to be a short drabble like around 2k lol, I had no proper idea of where this will go and somehow I ended up with quite a long story haha. but I'm happy I got more into writing, I wasn't expecting writing this much. if there are any mistakes, please ignore them hehe. I rushed to post it so I could make it on february 14th. I don't know what even is this story but i hope you enjoy it hahah don't forget to like and reblog ♡

“Argh! Who even invented Valentine's Day?”
The groan that leaves your mouth – or more like a loud complaint – rolls around the room, not stopping you from tossing your bag on the kitchen's table to show your annoyance more than actual anger.
“Hello to you too, sis.” Your brother throws a peace sign your way, not particularly fazed by the lack of greeting on your side.
From your peripheral vision you could easily tell they're right there. Your brother and his best friend have been best friends since high school, they go way back and somehow, they've managed to stay super close till now. It's quite admirable, you have to admit. You don't think you've ever seen or heard them fight. Overall, their friendship seems to be more relaxed in this sense than most girls' friendships.
Yes, that mostly happens between guys. They're not as dramatic or bitchy as some girls can be. God. None of your current friends are your friends from high school. You've parted ways eventually.
However, the amount of drama free that's clearly not present in their precious brotherhood is equalized with loud burps, unfiltered talks about girls and sex through male eyes. You would've mentioned farting but luckily, you haven't heard your brother's best friend to be that nasty in front of you. Which can't be said about your brother but well, that's a part of having a sibling – regardless of their gender.
It's quite cliché.
Your brother's older, therefore he's protective yet loves to embarrass you at any chance. He thinks he's all that and sometimes, it feels like he thinks he's your third parent. That's what's more annoying – perhaps even more than overrated Valentine's Day.
“Did someone decline you on Valentine's Day?”
There he goes again.
Teasing you. It's a never-ending circle. Luckily, you've grown resistant to his pathetic attempts to embarrass you – especially when his friends are present. Yeah, your brother can be a dick and you're not afraid to tell him.
Though, you don't stick to the names and curses and instead turn it into something more powerful.
Scoffing, you swipe your hair back and give him a look. “Please, look at me.”
“I am, that's why I asked.”
You waste no time in grabbing one of the stupid empty cans he always has laying around and throw it at him. Did you mention he can be a pig sometimes?
Your aim has gotten way better throughout the years and when he curses at you once it hits the side of his head, you smile happily. His friend chuckles at the two of you, lifting the can that has fallen onto the floor and sets it on the table.
“Yeah, and that's why you chase every man that comes my way.” you comment, knowing well damn you're right.
He frowns, “Those men can hardly be called men, sis.”
“Well, bro, I wouldn't know since you like to be the pain in my ass.” you smile at him tightly, seeing him looking before he goes back to playing one of his stupid video games. “Not that I have a man to look up to in the first place.”
They've been doing that a lot. Lame.
His best friend's snort turns into a laughter that he barely gets to hold in. That makes you smile because you see it as a success in getting back at your brother. And perhaps your little crush you've had on him has something to do with it. But we don't talk about it.
Your brother glares at him but he's not affected, not even a bit. It's hard to put it into words or make any definition, but he's always been slightly more… intimidating? He has an aura around him that makes you appreciate even a little reaction from him.
It's humorous. You've known him for years, merrily just from always seeing him next to your brother (because there were never other opportunities), yet it feels like you barely know anything about him. Even though he used to occupy your living room almost every day. And today doesn't feel much different. The only difference is that none of you live at your parents' house.
“Who hurt you today?”
“Don't be a dick. I can be a bitch too.” you remind him sweetly, leaning forward against the kitchen counter and grab a grape that lays in a single bowl. Probably the only healthy thing he has in this kitchen.
He flips you off and frowns once he doesn't win the game. Karma. “Anyway, are you gonna tell us why you came here so annoyed or you're gonna eat?”
“I can do both,” you shrug. “I just don't get the hype about Valentine's Day.”
“Oh, you asked who invented it? Probably a pair of groupies in love.”
You roll your eyes, “I don't think that's it.”
“It's about romance. It's romantic, sis.”
You snort, “And how would you know anything about romance?”
He chuckles cockily as if the next words he says is something to be proud about; “I don't. But the girl I fucked said something about it.”
“Ew!” you gag, stopping yourself from reaching for another grape. “You're gross sometimes.”
“You don't talk about sex with your friends? C'mon, it's normal.”
“Yeah, with my friends. Not in front of you.” you justify.
“Jesus, we didn't have to hear that.” Your brother scolds you, clearly uncomfortable at the thought of you talking about sex.
You sometimes make sex jokes in front of him just to mess with him. It's pretty funny and it never gets old. You don't do it often though, but perhaps you should.
“I hear only you complaining.” you sign out, pointing out the obvious and for the first time since you've arrived, you give proper attention to his best friend.
He's been awfully quiet. What's there for him to say anyway? You and your brother bicker most of the time, no matter how old you are. He's pretty much used to it by now. He just stuck to playing the game and other than cackling at your previous comment, he's been quiet. You hate that you're slightly annoyed by the lack of attention he gives you. Not that you're an attention seeker or desperate for his attention.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out he sees you as his best friend's little sister. Even though you're not as little as when he first met you.
“JK is the last person who wants to hear your complaints.”
“Why don't you let JK speak for himself?” you question, a little edge to your tone as your brother huffs out, muttering something under his breath – obviously aimed at you.
“Chill out, you two.” he mutters, voice slightly deeper than you remember it even though the last time you've seen him was last month. It has a little rasp to it and you wish your eyes wouldn't glue to him automatically.
He lays comfortably on the couch, man spreading with a game controller sitting in his lap while his big thumbs rest comfortably against the buttons. You might've mentioned you are not friends with people from a high school anymore, but you have friends. One who would kill for a moment to spend with your brother's best friend. Just to be in his close proximity.
Though, it's no secret he's not any better than most guys his age – including your own brother. In a weird way, you love your brother (even though you wouldn't probably ever say it out loud because he's a weirdo and he would just make fun of you), but you can easily tell he's not someone you would ever want to end up with. Personality and morally wise, of course.
He surrounds himself with people with the same values, or the lack of.
And perhaps, it's one of the reasons why you suddenly got annoyed because of today's day. February 14th. You're the type that simply brushes off any guy who comes your way that you don't have any interest in. There's no need for your brother. He's a dick and he chases the ones that might not be husband material, but they're hot and charming. You're not necessarily looking for a marriage. God. You're too young. You don't want to be the one that gets locked in a marriage with someone they just met.
Definitely you don't want to get knocked up either. Fuck, they're so many scenarios that run inside your head. Ones you don't want to live in.
Regardless of your current stance when it comes to your life and relationships, you're still romantic. All of your friends have dates today. Any other day or year, you wouldn't even think of it – but you've seen everything in the shape of a heart today. Not mentioning there's everyone kissing and hugging at every corner of the street.
And you didn't get a discount on your cake because you were alone with no partner around. Who does that? That's discrimination!
Valentine's Day is overrated. Maybe you think that way because you're single. Have been for too long. And while you don't necessarily miss it, you kind of crave for someone's affection and touch. It's not even about sex.
“Listen, we're having a party tonight. I wouldn't normally invite you–”
“Wow, thanks.”
He shoots you a glare again before he continues, “But seeing you so miserable, maybe you could come too.”
“Party? Is this another one of your gangbang parties?”
“I have never been a part of that, stop calling my parties that.”
“There are literally hundreds of people who are there to hook up.” you inform him.
He snickers, “That's like every party.”
You lift up your eyebrows, not quite believing him. It's like every party he hosts or is invited to. People his age make parties slightly less wild. Not that he's too old but still. He's acting and living too wild for his age.
“I'm not hosting it.”
“Who is?”
“JK here.” His brother says, head motioning toward the man next to him. “I'm sure you don't mind that I'm inviting her.”
The said man looks at his brother, shrugging. “I don't.”
“Well?” Your brother looks back at you. “Are you coming?”
“Are you gonna chase everyone that comes my way? Y'know, my friends are all having dates and if I don't wanna spend tonight alone, I would rather have fun.”
“You're allowed to come. And yeah, probably I will.”
“You're a douche. I'm an adult, stop treating me like a child.”
Your brother sighs, already knowing what argument is about to come. It's about the same stuff every time.
“I'm doing it for your own good. The people that are gonna be there, guys that are gonna be there are like us, sis.”
There's a certain softness behind his voice, though it still stays vigorous as if he's trying to get something through your thick head. You know all of that, though. You know he doesn't hang out with the best people. But they're just dicks. And they're thinking with dicks. But you can take care of yourself. Besides, he's going to be there as well.
JK, or Jungkook like you refer to him in your head, briefly looks at you. But you spot it and stare at him as his eyes drift to your brother. “You can't protect her forever.”
“That's something an asshole would say.”
“I never said I'm not one. But let her have her fun.”
“You know what? Don't come. I don't want you there.” Your brother stands up and shoots you a glare before he walks away.
God! He's such a dick!
JK chuckles and you realize you've been frowning this whole time. You hear the door slam close and you scoff. “He's such a child.”
You eye him with no embarrassment whatsoever, tracing all the tattoos he has gotten throughout the years. The white shirt fits his torso perfectly, even though it's oversized his muscles peak through.
Your friend told you he's at the gym almost every day. It sure looks like that.
He suddenly stands up and you straighten automatically, watching him make his way toward you but not before tossing the game controller on the couch. He stays on the other side of the table, reaching for one of the grapes while still staring at you.
God. He's doing something purposely.
For the first time today, your confidence slightly falters but you do your best not to show it. You stare as he pops one of the grapes into his mouth and chews on it.
“You're still invited. That's if you still wanna come.”
You blink, “But my brother–”
“Is like a child sometimes. You're gonna be fine there.”
Gulping, you mutter; “How are you so sure?”
He doesn't answer but there's a small smirk playing on his lips. “You would still come, wouldn't you? Just to piss him off.”
That causes you to let out a soft chuckle because yes, he's right about that. Your brother needs to understand you're not a child. “I would.”
“Alright, then come.”
You poke the inside of your cheek with your tongue and lift your brow, “I will.”
You will go to the party. Even if your brother would burn down the city.

One of the few things you've learned about your brother's best friend – Jungkook – is that he comes from a wealthy family. You know he got his own place in the city center, that alone tells you he's got money. Whether they come from his parents or by his own hard work is unknown to you. Either way, it's quite clear he's always been slightly privileged than most kids your age.
You've never been to his parents' house. There was never a reason for you to go there, plus, you're not your brother and he didn't exactly bring his little sister with him whenever he went somewhere. The only time he would have to spend time with you alone was when he had to babysit you. But you would always stay home and he would let you know how annoyed he is because of that.
A typical teenager who wanted to chase girls and experience his first hook-ups rather than having to babysit his little sister who was born with sharp tongue and big mouth. You're probably his karma for all the hearts he already managed to break.
Anyway – you know JK's parents' house is settled up the hill, away from the city and in a rich area where all the big houses were built. You've never seen it, hence your first reaction when you spotted a huge gate and a house that looks more like a mixture between mansion rather than a small family house.
Before he parted ways a few hours ago when you last saw him, he gave you the address. Seems like you've arrived just in time. There are many people, outside and inside – everywhere. It looks like the college parties you get to see in movies but more upgraded.
The thing about you is that you would never go to a party alone. Even if two people you know are here. Well, your brother still doesn't know you're here and he's about to get pissed once he sees you. Suddenly, the idea to piss him off doesn't seem so alluring.
But this house – or mansion or whatever this building is called – is the only place that is not filled with heart balloons. They might be couples and strangers that are glued to each other, the romance is simply not present. It's nasty and explicit to a certain extent.
A part of you is disgusted at how easy some people seem to be, letting themselves to be groped by strangers, but there's something alluring. Perhaps even more than doing this just to prove a point to your brother.
You don't get a chance to look around the place, since it's crowded and you're trying not to get shoved into, you're looking for a bigger space and maybe something to drink. You make it into the main room it seems. A huge couch in the shape of U looks massive but it fits into the big room perfectly. There are people everywhere and there's not a single space on the couch. However, once you make it closer and spot a tiny space, it's all forgotten and your vision naturally travels to the couple sitting there.
You would spot those tattoos everywhere.
Jungkook's there. And a woman sitting on his lap as you see them making out explicitly, tongues brushing against each other. Alright, a part of you envies the woman but looking around and seeing more of them staring in slight irritation and jealousy, you're not alone. You scrunch your nose at them not caring and just making out with each other in front of everyone. There's no way they don't know everyone's eyes are on them. The guys ignore them though. It's mostly women.
The one that sits on his lap and seems to be ready to jump his bones, is wearing a tiny top and mini skirt. You can see her panties and you feel embarrassed to witness the tiny piece of underwear. Well, she doesn't seem to care.
His hand is on her waist, gripping it tightly as he pulls away and mutters something into her lips. She giggles, all her attention focused on him.
Despite knowing him for years, you've never seen him in this element. And maybe that's what your brother didn't want you to see. Not even Jungkook but everyone here. You've witnessed a few parties, but this one is completely on another level. It looks straight out of a movie and perhaps completely out of your comfort zone.
But you don't leave. You stick in your spot and just stare at your brother's best friend flaunting his charm all around him, but mostly aimed at the woman on his lap.
Since your brother that eventually came out of the bathroom told you to get out, you've decided to come after all and give him a taste of his own medicine. Maybe not exactly the same but that's why you chose one of your tight dresses. They're not special. Just a dress that almost every woman owns. But this one has thin straps and you don't get to wear a bra in it, that's how tight it is. It's the only clothing you're wearing, minus the panties of course.
You look good. You know you do and that's why you chose this outfit particularly. You thought the heels are perhaps too much, but luckily you opted for them instead of your sneakers. Everyone seems to be dressed like they're in a club. Not even one outfit on a woman here looks completely comfortable. And they show more skin when they wear clothing. Not that you're judging. You're not the one to talk.
And you know this choice of clothing is not only a magnet for eyes, but for unwanted touches you were counting on eventually. It's sad but it's the truth. That's why you never come alone to these things. You always have your friends with you. You would kick asses for each other and overall, you feel more protected and safe.
The hand that slaps your ass – that definitely looks good in this dress – causes you to turn and twist your face in anger. You spot a wasted man that smiles stupidly as if he did something cute. You shove him in the chest causing him to stumble into a few people who start to curse at him and complain.
“Touch me one more time and I will fucking kick your ass.” you spit at him.
Your ass might look good but that's not an open invitation for strangers or anyone to touch you unwillingly.
He gains his balance and his drunk features twist into anger. You see it. He's angry because you're not all over his dick because he touched you. First of all, he's not even hot. And he's wasted out of his mind. There's nothing hot about it.
He doesn't make it too close because you push him again, causing him to fall this time.
“You bitch!” he yells, having a trouble to stand up and you cover your mouth to shield the giggle that makes it out.
One of the guys that he stumbled into turns around, ready to curse. But as your eyes lock, all the amusement fades away and your eyes widen in a sudden fear. Shit.
It takes a moment for your brother to register that it's you – perhaps the exposed skin causes him to widen his eyes too before they twist into anger.
“What the fuck.”
“I was invited.” you automatically argue, yelping once he makes his way toward you and grabs you by your forearm. He kicks the bastard that still tries to stand up and starts leading you elsewhere. No, he's not leading you but dragging you with him.
It's not the initial reaction you had in mind. You wanted to smirk, to show him that you're here and there's nothing you can do about it. But that's out of the picture because in the end, you're just a little girl that maybe loves to piss off her brother, but once you truly piss him off you back away.
That realization causes your anger to come back and you dig your heels into the wooden floor, trying to get out of his hold. “Stop squeezing me like that!”
“Would you like to be squeezed by strangers?!” He yells over the music, both of you stopping next to a staircase.
It already happened, you wanted to say but decide to stay quiet.
He couldn't see what the stranger did to you. He only saw the man falling and stumbling into him. So the fact that he's this pissed off to see you here without even seeing what happened just minutes ago, makes you think he needs a psychiatrist. What would he do if he saw what happened?
“Maybe I want that!” you yell at him. “And there's nothing you can do about it!”
He pinches the bridge of his nose and tries to calm down. “What are you doing here.”
“I told you. I was invited.”
“I uninvited you.”
You scoff, “It's not your party, you moron.”
“JK invited you?”
“Yeah.” you shrug just to piss him off some more.
He stares at you for a moment, glaring but you glare back before he shakes his head and takes a deep breath. “Fine. But you're not leaving my side.”
You scoff but he grabs your shoulders tightly.
“I mean it.”
“Stop touching me.” You slap his hands away, his touch fading away as you're about to open your mouth to curse at him some more.
Before you can do it, someone nudges him from the left side. Your brother is about to pounce but once he sees his best friend in the flesh, he stays down but not before he's reminded of what you told him.
“What are you doing.” He questions your brother but he just scoffs in return.
“You invited her?”
Jungkook rolls his lip piercing as he shrugs, “I did.”
“Are you out of your mind?”
“Me? You invited her first if I recall.”
Your brother stares at his friend in disbelief before he glances at you. You shrug, lifting your brown.
“You two are fucking unbelievable.”
Jungkook rolls his eyes, probably thinking your brother is just dramatic. Which he is. While they're too busy arguing, you don't pay attention to anything that's being said. You shamelessly eye Jungkook, spotting how blurry his lips are from the make out session you witnessed a while ago. He's got a similar outfit like you've seen him during the day. The only difference is that he's wearing all black.
“Listen you two, I will stay out of your sight, okay?”
“No fucking way!” Your brother argues while Jungkook sighs in exhaustion.
“I'm just gonna have a few drinks and meet new people.”
“These people are not for you to meet or be friends with.”
“Who said anything about being friends?” you mutter, causing your brother to curse at you once more.
“No–” He stops you before you can interrupt him, “You invited her, so you will look after her.”
“Me?” JK frowns, disliking the idea. While you would be slightly offended by the lack of interest when it comes to you, you're also irritated that your brother here is acting the same. Only this time he's giving the responsibility to Jungkook.
“Yes, you! You invited her, so you'll watch over her tonight. If anything happens to her, I will personally kill you,”
God. He's so full of himself. If Jungkook wanted, he could knock him out with one punch. But you don't say it to hurt his male ego and boost Jungkook's one. It seems they're full of ego.
“And I'm not joking.”
He brushes past you two and leaves angrily. To probably shove his tongue down to any first girl he sees.
And from the looks of it Jungkook looks like he would rather much do the same. But then he looks at you, reminded of his current responsibility. You.
“Listen–you don't have to look after me–I can handle my–”
“Are you okay?”
“What?”
He stares you down, not in the creepy way to stare at your body but almost looking for anything that could give him answers to his question.
“I've seen what happened.”
“You've seen it?” you breathe out, “I'm fine.”
“You sure?”
“I handled it.” you grit through your teeth.
“You did,” he agrees much to your surprise. “Or maybe you were just lucky.”
“What's that supposed to mean?” You trash with your hands, but he catches your wrist. Gently. But he has his hold on you and your breath catches in your throat. He pulls you closer.
“What if it was someone who wouldn't be so wasted? Hm?”
You gulp, glancing at his lips for a split second before you find his dark eyes on yours. “It happened with people around us. Someone would step in.”
He scoffs, “Don't count on it too much.”
“They would–”
“Some of them. Not all of them,” he informs you.
You're reminded that he knows these parties. He knows how it's going. And while no one would mess with him personally, it doesn't mean everyone is as safe as him. Let alone any women. That much you've realized and you haven't even been here for a half an hour.
“What if he waited until you're drunk to take you somewhere else?”
You breathe out shakily, “Stop.”
“What if he dragged you upstairs? And that's just the start of what he might've done.”
“Fucking stop.” you warn him with your eyes but he doesn't budge.
He tames you like you're a fucking dog.
“Your brother's right. You're staying with me.”
“And staring at you making out all night?”
You shut your mouth as soon as your response gets out. Jungkook tilts his head tiniest bit to the side and the corner of his mouth lifts up. “You were watching.”
“It was hard not to. Everyone was watching.”
“That's not an excuse.”
You inch closer, licking your lips. “It wasn't supposed to be.”
He stares at your lips before his touch disappears and so its warmth does. “You're not leaving my side.”
You scoff but he glares at you which surprisingly shuts you up.
“I can give you alcohol, you can have fun. But you're not leaving my side.”
“You're worse than my brother.” That's a stretch and you both know it, but you've never seen Jungkook acting like this. He never really cared. He never had to in the first place. That's what your brother was for.
He inches closer, hovering over you like only his presence can. “I can be worse.”
And somehow, that sounds like a promise. Once he motions for you to follow him, you do like a lost poppy with gritted teeth and anger bubbling inside you. But you don't disobey. Perhaps it's the shock or the weird feeling in the pit of your stomach that makes you buzz with excitement.
Fuck.

It's not hard not to have a crush on someone like Jungkook. He's hot, he's confident but not in the way where he's full of himself. He has every reason to be confident.
And just like he promised, he has managed to give you drinks that surprisingly taste good. They're not too strong and something tells you he purposely picked those out for you. You don't complain. They don't cause you to make grimaces at every gulp and you can feel yourself relax. In the corner your brother watches you with glare, reminding you of something that should feel like punishment.
Perhaps it does.
Jungkook has you seated next to him, back on the couch. The woman he made out with sits on the opposite side, sending daggers next to you. You roll your eyes very publicly, scoffing and making sure she sees you.
“JK, can we go somewhere else?” You hear her annoying sweet voice, while Jungkook himself looks slightly irritated that he has you on his watch. “Upstairs?” she suggests.
“Sorry, love, can't.”
She huffs out, “Why? Because you're babysitting?”
You move sideways to face her, leaning through Jungkook as you glare at her. “Maybe he just doesn't want your tongue shoved in his mouth.”
Jungkook sighs, lifting his hand to your collarbones to move you back but you don't budge.
“Oh yeah? He wants more than that.” she informs you.
“God, you're so desperate.”
“Excuse me?!”
“Behave.” Jungkook warns you, pushing slightly harder and finally, you plop back onto your spot and fume with arms crossed.
“Tell your bitch to behave.”
“Y/N.” Jungkook warns through his teeth. You stop, realizing that this is the first time he said your name. Still fuming, you give him a glare before standing up.
“What did you just call me?”
“Come on.” Jungkook stands up too before you can make things worse and he's going to be caught up in a girls fight. This is not the night he planned.
He doesn't drag you like your brother did. He still rests his hand against your back and leads you in a direction. You don't protest. You want to but anything's better than being in the blonde's presence one more second.
When you realize you're standing next to your brother who's leaning against the wall, watching the two of you with a knowing and quite pleased smirk.
“Dude. That's enough.”
“Are you having any issue with my sis, JK?”
Jungkook rolls his eyes, “You made your point.”
“No, I don't think I have.”
“You two are annoying.” he sighs, closing his eyes.
“Excuse me? What have I done?” you exclaim, hand on your chest as he gives you a knowing look that shuts you up.
It's more than clear. Jungkook has brought you to your brother, so he could deal with you rather than he has to. It bruises your ego, but only slightly because you don't let any guy do any permanent damage. But you have to be honest. It's slightly embarrassing how he wants to shake you off. Clearly his plans for tonight have been different and watching the blondie still waiting for him patiently makes your night even worse, knowing what exactly he had planned.
“You made me a huge cockblocker, bro.” you interrupt their bickering. It feels refreshing not to be the one bickering with your brother.
Which reminds you that for the first time, you actually see them in some sort of argument even though it's not exactly a fight. Your brother as always is a pain in the ass and Jungkook's now experiencing it. You don't understand why Jungkook just doesn't let you go? Why did he insist on having you by his side at all times?
Most likely, he doesn't want to piss off your brother.
Jungkook throws you yet another glare, but you brush him off pretty easily. “It's not about that.”
You give him a look which makes him groan.
“It's not just about that.”
And then they continue again. Your brother complains about your presence here, blames Jungkook rather than your own decision to come. He knows you. He knows you've done it to mess with him and it worked. But he expected better from Jungkook.
You don't want to hear any second of it any longer. You don't wait for Jungkook's response, not even when you see his frown deepen and you know he's getting angrier by every word your brother spits in his face.
Using the tiny chance where they don't pay you any attention, you distance yourself from them. When you're in a safe distance and are not stopped by one of them, you make a run for it. Grabbing a wine bottle from someone's hold, ignoring them complaining, you make it upstairs and try to find a place where you can be alone. Before they find you.
You know once they notice you're not there, they'll be looking for you. Well, your brother will for sure. Even though he can be a dick, he's worried. But let him. That's what he gets for not letting you enjoy tonight.
Passing by people who either mingle or make out, you try a few doors that are locked. Wise decision. Another reason why Jungkook seems to know how these parties go. It seems almost impossible to find a place where no one is.
Just when you become tired and desperate, you make it to the quieter part of the house. It's weird because there are people everywhere. It's impossible to find somewhere quiet and empty.
Luckily for you, you end up in a room that seems to be some sort of office. It's medium sized, definitely not one of the biggest rooms in this massive house, but still bigger than your kitchen and room together.
It seems Jungkook has forgotten to lock this room. There's nothing special about it though. But he definitely doesn't want anyone to have sex on the wooden desk you pass by. There are a few shelves with books and a lamp, but other than that it's pretty empty. Oh, and there's a small couch. It looks expensive but it seems like they've brought it here just to put it somewhere. Not that it doesn't fit in here.
But it definitely doesn't look as expensive as the furniture you've managed to see in your short stay here. What has it been? Two hours? Two awful hours and no fun.
Making it onto a small balcony, you sigh in relief when you find it open. It's facing the back of the house and your mouth drops when you see a fountain, pool and a garden in the distance. He's filthy rich. His parents are.
Sitting on the cold ground, you take a sip of the wine. Your features scrunch in disgust but you force yourself to drink. It's more from the whole annoyance and anger you've been feeling ever since you came here.
Maybe they were right.
This place is not for you.
You have no idea how long you end up sitting there.
You just stare, hearing the blasting music in the distance and the chatter of people. You wonder if any neighbor called the police on him. But they're in the distance, probably they don't hear it as much.
There's a forest around you. There are no cars, no barking and no city noise. You wonder how this place feels like when there's no party. It must be calm and relaxing.
“Here you are.”
You hear it as soon as the balcony door slides open, ignoring the hint of annoyance in his voice as you take another gulp.
“You can't disappear like that!”
You chuckle, “Really? Watch me.”
“Your brother went crazy when you disappeared.”
“Sounds like a him problem.” you shrug.
“Are you drunk?”
You give him a look, a lazy smile making it onto your face.
“Where did you get that?”
“You know this is the most you've spoken to me since I've known you.” you take a note out loud.
He ignores you though. “You're gonna have one hell of a hangover tomorrow.”
“Sounds like a me problem, no?”
“God, you're such a brat,” he groans, “And get off the ground, you're gonna get sick.”
Snorting, you shake your head. “You're acting just like my brother.”
“You're irresponsible.”
That causes you to get a whiplash from how fast you glare at him. “I am not. Y'all act as if I can't do things on my own. Not only does my brother try to control me and watch over my shoulder every goddamn minute, you started doing it too!”
“He's worried about you.”
“Whatever,” you grumble, “Go back to blondie and leave me alone. Or snitch to my brother about my whereabouts, I'm sure he will get me out of here.”
He stays though. He doesn't move and doesn't speak for a moment. Instead, he sighs and sits next to you.
“I wanted you to have fun.”
“Well, that didn't work, did it?”
“Look at you,” he chuckles, nudging lightly on your shoulder. “You seem to have fun on your own.”
“Yeah, spending Valentine's Day alone on the balcony of my brother's best friend is just so much fun.”
He laughs. He actually laughs and gives you an approving nod once he realizes you're right. “You're not alone anymore.”
You give him a look but before he can elaborate, he motions toward the bottle in your hand with his head.
“Give me that.”
“No, this is the only fun I have.”
“C'mon, I will drink with you.”
Your surprise comes out before you give him a suspicious look. “You will?”
“Yeah.” he agrees and takes the bottle you hesitantly give him.
He takes a small sip, not a few gulps as you expect him to. “Is that all you got?”
“For tonight, yeah.”
“Why?” you question.
“I will take you home.”
You scoff, but then he continues.
“After you decide you wanna go home.”
“Really?” Your surprise makes it out again. “You're not gonna kick me out?”
“I would never kick you out.”
You make a face, “But my brother–”
“Your brother can be a dick sometimes.”
“Woah.”
“Don't act like you don't know it.”
“I do, but I'm just surprised you're the one saying it.”
He sets the bottle on the other side of him. It doesn't go unnoticed by you but you decide not to fight with him, especially once you feel the alcohol doing its job.
“Well, I've seen it from his side and I gotta be honest, he's protective. Sometimes overly but he's not doing it because he hates you, y'know?”
“I know he doesn't hate me,” you inform him. “It's just annoying sometimes.”
“But now I've seen more of your side and he should just let you live.”
You nod in appreciation with lips pursed, “Wow, thank you.”
He smiles, “You still do a lot of stuff just to get back at him. You're not making it any easier, huh?”
You laugh, “It's my rebellion.”
You sit there for a moment in complete silence. Jungkook stands up and leaves. You act as if you're not disappointed but before you can reach for the bottle that Jungkook has left here, the door slides open again and Jungkook wraps a blanket around you.
“Don't look so surprised.”
“Wow, JK does something nice for a girl?”
“I can do a lot of nice things.”
“Is there a double-meaning or?” you trail off, causing him to laugh as he shakes his head.
“Not like that.”
Yeah, because you're his brother's best friend.
Not that you would ever want something with him. Only in your most secretive dreams but that's beside the point. Jungkook is not boyfriend material. You've seen it today more than ever. But you can't deny that he attracts you in the weirdest way possible. You have never experienced that with anyone.
He's your type. When it comes to looks. And you're slightly ashamed to admit that some of his behavior attracts you. Basically, it's a red flag but what do they say? I'm color blind?
“How are you not freezing?”
It's February and you're sitting on a balcony.
“I'm drunk.”
God, you're going to end up sick. Even your drunk self scolds you.
“You wanna go home?”
“Not yet.”
He nods, not protesting as you both stare ahead. Your thoughts run wild, even in their slow pace because of alcohol flowing in your system.
“I was so annoyed because today's Valentine's Day,” you start, chuckling at yourself. “At first I thought I was just annoyed because everyone's in love and everything about today is about love. I do think it's overrated though.”
“I don't know, I never cared about it to be honest.”
You laugh, “Did you make today's party for all anti-romanticists?”
“No, I would've done it either way.” he chuckles.
“Did you ever make something romantic for Valentine's Day?”
He makes a face, frowning but silently laughing amusingly at the thought of it. “No.”
“You know what? I think I was more annoyed that secretly maybe I crave for something romantic. Not necessarily a relationship.”
“Or maybe you just feel the pressure of today's ridiculous holiday and people around you.”
You snort, “You're just saying that because you're not in love.”
“Love's not for me. Not that kind at least.”
“And what kind?”
“I loved our family dog.”
You laugh, “That's different. I'm not talking about that.”
“I know you don't. Just sayin', love has all forms.”
You hum, sighing before you start shivering.
“Come on, let's go inside. You're freezing.”
“But–”
“We don't have to go home.”
“Or maybe I should. I'm getting tired. And I think I'm gonna throw up.”
“You were mixing hard liquor with wine. You will.” he agrees and once you nudge him, he laughs at you. “C'mon, you little brat. It's time to go home.”
As he makes sure you don't fall on the stairs, giving you the support you almost stumble when your brother makes his way toward you, breathless and relieved once he sees you.
“Where the hell have you been?! I've been looking for you everywhere. We've been looking for you! Why do you have the blanket?”
“Found her on the balcony.”
“What were you doing there?!” He screeches.
“Don't worry, I wasn't going to jump. But if I'm gonna have to keep up with your annoying ass for one more second, maybe I will.”
“You're drunk.” He scoffs.
“And honest.” you add.
“And where are you going?”
“I'm gonna take her home.” Jungkook answers, helping you with the last step as your brother stares with mouth wide open.
“Like the hell you will! You were drinking.”
“I wasn't,” he responds. “Not since I was with her anyway.”
“Doesn't mean you don't have alcohol in you.”
“I don't. I'm fine.”
You didn't even realize he wasn't drinking anymore. God. You really can be a pain in the ass too. But that's your brother's doing though. He should've never ordered Jungkook to look after you.
“You're the one who reeks of alcohol,” Jungkook informs him calmly, “Or you want someone else to take her?”
He shakes his head, still hesitant. He walks closer to you and wraps the blanket tighter around your form. “Are you gonna be fine?”
“Yeah, I trust Jungkook. Don't you?”
“I do.” He doesn't hesitate.
He gives one final nod to Jungkook as he leads you out of the house. As you're walking out of it, you spot blondie with a group of what seems like her friends, glaring the shit out of you. You stick out your tongue when Jungkook's busy opening the door for you. The look on your face causes you to smirk.
Jungkook gets you inside his flashy car and you're kinda doomed that you're too drunk to look around and appreciate the expensive type of vehicle. You're drifting in and out of your consciousness. But you notice Jungkook stopping in front of a convenience store, informing you he'll be right back. And he is. It seems like he's been gone for a minute because you close your eyes, open them and he's already there.
The drive and walk to your home is quick. You get to walk on your own, much to your embarrassment there are no accidents of stumbling or falling. As soon as you make it past your doormat, you make it inside your bathroom and throw up in the sink. It's embarrassing once you hear Jungkook behind you, helping you with your hair. He doesn't say anything, just letting you throw up everything that's currently in your stomach.
“I should take a shower.”
“Fuck that. Go lay down. I will lock the door.”
“Lock?”
“Your brother gave me his spare keys.”
“Oh.”
After a few minutes of bickering, you still insist on taking a shower. Jungkook sighs and lets you do your own thing, patiently waiting in the living room. Once you make it out in your pajamas that consist of your brother's huge t-shirt, you find him scrolling through his phone.
“You gonna be fine?”
“Yeah, yeah.” You're seconds from passing out. You might've stumbled in the bath a few times but you hope he didn't hear that.
You drag your feet to your bedroom and fall onto bed. You'll cover yourself later. As soon as you lay down, you ignore your spinning head and the disgusting taste of vomit that is still present, even though you've brushed and rinsed your teeth even in your drunken state.
The night is wild.
You throw up a few times, finding a prepared bucket beside your bed but unfortunately, you don't make it into it the first time. Once you wake up with a messy and aching head, you notice vomits on your floor and you cringe at yourself. Disgusting.
You wake up around twelve, finally in a better state to leave your eyes open without having to vomit everywhere. You're about to reach for your phone, knowing you're going to have at least a dozen messages from your brother. But you stop yourself as you stare at things that weren't on your nightstand before.
There's a glass of water. A box of painkillers and a chocolate bar wrapped in a package filled with pink and red hearts.
There's a note stuck to it.
'Happy Valentine's Day, JK'
You stare, reading the note over and over again.
And they say romance is dead.

Do I make you feel like Christmas time? Put me in a party dress one time
What is coming your way? (General)

☆ How to chose your pile?
Read this post my dears.
Thank you🤍
☆ Note:
This reading only available until the end of January 2025. After that I do not recommend taking those predictions.
Merry Christmas Dears and happy new year. May all your wishes come true🎄🎊☃️🎆.
Pile 1 - Red car
Your current energy:
Hello pile one🤍 merry Christmas for my beautiful followers. Anyways, let's get into your reading. I can sense 3 energies in this pile so I will write them here and take what resonates okay? Let's start with the first one. I see something green in my peripheral vision and my third eye started tingling. I see that you might be someone who is emotionally attached to someone. I see that it can be for better or worse and I kept typing W so? Yeah anyways. I see that this emotional attachment could be tied to someone in your family. I see a very unhealthy dynamic here, you might be going to spend the holidays with them but instead of having fun they just re-live the old wounds and make you very unhappy. Pile 1 I see that you might be someone who is married or in a long term relationship and your spouse is the only one you feel that can protect you from the problems of your family. I see also that other people here are quite self-sufficient emotional or financially. I see a lot of I'm independent people whether you carry a masculine or feminine energy. For my single people you might get engaged in a traditional way? Perhaps by your family but I see you'll meet them soon. I see that this person might open doors for you. The second energy here is for my college students, I see you waiting for your marks and ending this semester with a lot of dedication too. Things seem very different than previous year. I got shivers all over my back, I feel like in this pile there's a sense of nostalgia. Something perhaps changed than the previous year. The third energy here is my workaholic people; guys take a break for God's sake your loved ones need you to be with them in the holiday, can you pls? Thank you. Also; I see that there's someone here who have done charity for Christmas I see that your spirit guys are very proud of you. Someone here will get a proposal soon, I see that if you are in a long term relationship you'll be proposed to and if you are single love is on it's way, don't give up babies 💋💋.
☆ Placements for you:
Capricorn, Taurus, virgo, Aquarius, Scorpio, Pluto, Saturn, sun dominant in your chart. 2nd, 6th, 11th, 10th, 6th, 8th house placements.
☆ what is coming your way?
So, I do think that people here might have struggled with their health alot. Someone here have a chronic illness like diabetes, hypertension and other chronic illnesses. I see that by the end of this year and the beginning of a new one; things will get better for you especially if you have been looking carefully about your current health status. I see also, that there's indulgence here. If you are someone who suffer from diabetes or hypertension be careful with what you eat (pls consult a Dr about your health this reading cannot substitute medical intervention). Anyways, I see that at the beginning of the holiday everything was balanced perhaps you have been dieting and NOW it feels like you are out of control. I see indulgence in food here. So if you are not used to to being inactive, have healthy lifestyle you might gain weight. I see that what is coming for you also is peace after a period of tiredness. I see that this pile have been fighting to get everything done and are tired because it is not going the way you wanted it to go. The cards are telling me that you should rest and give yourself some time. Nourish your body but do not over indulge. Perhaps spiritually, you are out of alignment. Maybe you abandoned your practices or stopped out of exhaustion. Give yourself sometime dear. Everything will be alright despite it not being quite obvious. I see that you guys are very uncertain right now and feeling lost, but everything will turn out to be alright. You have the tools to shape reality, you are no weak human. You are strong🤍 keep going. Also; you might hear about a proposal perhaps for you or someone you know, it is going to be super beautiful. Thank you for reading 💕.
Pile 2 - Christmas stores
Your current energy
Hello dears how are you? I hope you are doing well. I see here that there was or is a relationship that you were in or still in I'm not getting anything from the past. Something is currently going on. I see that this relationship might have made you emotionally unfulfilled and unsatisfied with that person. Also, another energy I'm picking up on is that if you are single I see someone who is young and youthful that will come into your life. I see that this person take care of their appearance A LOT and put too much thoughts into it. Well; also I have now two situations going on. If you are in a relationship then that person is cheating on you or deceiving you. I see that they are keeping things hidden. Probably with someone online? They might be following someone online and talking to them. And if you are single be careful of that new guy or person coming into your life. They might deceive you and hide things from you. Now for other, I see that if you were suffering from financial hardships this will soon end. I see an opportunity that will shake things up for you possibly coming from a woman you know. I see active search here, also I'm getting the phrase "what you are seeking, seek you back" so don't give up dears.
☆ Placements for you:
Gemini, Pisces, Sagittarius, Aries, Cancer. Pluto, moon, Mercury dominant in your chart. Your sun or moon in the 3rd, 1st, 12th, 9th, 4th house in your chart.
What is coming your way?
So, right of the bat I see that you will receive communication from a woman whom she is very close to you. This woman might be preparing something very sweet and generous. I see a gift here, she might gift you something that is very valuable. I'm not seeing that this woman is a stranger, she is from your family or friends. I see that also, this woman is going to unlock an opportunity for you regarding a job or your career. So, okay I see that this woman might really help you if you are looking for a job and if you are already employed she might support you. If you don't have any woman or female in your life then this might be you. I see you going out and looking for a job yourself, this job will be in a structured setting and it will pay you will. But also, not without difficulties. I see that you'll solve all you problems sense the key is here in the spread.
Pile 3 - Christmas Carol
Current energy:
Hello dear🤍 how are you doing? Let's get into the reading. I see that you started to take care of yourself and someone here is changing their physical appearance. Also, routine, you might have dealt with eating disorder and now you are recovering. Or you have been on a self love journey and now you are receiving the fruits of your labor. Cards here suggest that you need to reflect more about your lifestyle so if you feel the need to reflect on your long term goals do this evaluation so you can move forward with ease. Another energy I'm picking up on is someone here have an emotional attachment to someone else. This relationship feels karmic, and the lesson here is to acknowledge your wounds, heal and move on. I see that the main theme of this relationship is abandonment and manipulation. I see that this person might be manipulating you into thinking that they love you and then they abandon your need as a person. I see that this relationship is here to teach you how to be more logical and stop the unnecessary nostalgia to who that person was before with you. Evaluate that relationship with clarity and stop wasting your time, the right person won't do this to you.
☆ Placements for you:
Scorpio, Virgo, Aries, Gemini, Capricorn, Libra. For planets we have pluto, Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter. Sun or moon in the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 10th, 8th house in your chart.
☆ What is coming your way?
I see luck coming your way pile 3 and this luck will be because of a very strategic and smart woman. This woman knows a man that will help and guide you through your journey. I see that this man will play a key role in your life and may help you to see things clearly and be your anchor. I see that this person (regardless of the gender) is very optimistic and stable, generous financially too. I see that at first you might really feel tense and un-trusting of their intentions, you may think that they want sex or play with your heart but they are not like that at all. They will support you financially and help you grow in your business or open a business for you. I see also, that you might meet this person because of a problem and then they will help you navigate it. This person is very charismatic, confident and loyal. Also they are very determined. At first you might not like them at all but as you get to know them you'll realize that they are your wish fulfillment! Also, with the heirophant, queen of cups and king of cups you both might be in the same place emotionally when you meet them and above all ready to commit. Another thing I'm picking up on is that this person might indeed be your spouse if you are hoping to meet them. Take care pile 3, enjoy your holiday 💕
Pile 4 - Candy
Current energy:
Hello guys, I shuffled the cards and they were jumping like crazy and they energy is not quite right. Are you okay? I feel concerned. Someone here is being abused emotionally and the problem is you are not seeing it as an abuse which is quite strange. I see that I'm not sure why the person you are with might either be a long-term partner or someone that you don't see long-term relationship with. I see that despite the abuse you are trying to keep yourself distant emotionally. I mean yes, they are abusing you emotionally BUT no you are not attached to them in that way nor aware of that. The cards emphasis on setting boundaries. Another energy I'm picking up on is you might be hooking up with someone? And you both are attracted sexually? I see that you and this person do not want to commit which is nice on your own terms but be careful of unwanted pregnancies? Yup, I see that you might have been feeling like giving up and this hookup came and now you are on fire. This person might be boosting your confidence? And above all making you feel good. Nothing serious but still be careful, this person is quite in rush when it comes to that thing and they are non-commital.
☆Placements for you:
Leo, Taurus, Cancer, Sagittarius, Pisces, mars in gemini. Dominant planets: Neptune, mars, Sun, Saturn. Sun or moon in the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 9th, 12th house in your chart.
☆ What is coming your way?
So, love is on it's way pile 4. I see that you might meet someone in a very strategic way. That might know you beforehand but the actual meeting is planned by them. They might have their eyes on you long time until they make a move. I see that this relationship will give you a lot of luck and change you for the better also, it might be like one of those relationships that is very abundant in feelings and romance. Someone here will come and shake up your world. I see that this person or the relationship will be a source of stability and happiness in your life. This person is very sneaky and strategic I kept singing the phrase "g-g-g-g genius" so they might be someone who is considered intellectually smart and stimulating. I see that this person is very nurturing and motherly even if they are masculine or a man, they carry this feminine energy and help people. I see that also, they are emotionally mature and emotional too. They value mutual and reciprocal give and take effort. And pls don't say those people DO NOT exist BECAUSE THEY DO bahahah anyways. This person knows how to communicate directly and very straightforward. I see that in order for them to enter for your life you might be in a difficult chapter and trying to move on and cutting ties with people who have hurt you. Take care pile 4 and may all your wishes come true hohohoho🎅🏼🦌🎄.

Tell No Lies
[Part One of the third Synovus installment.]
Living on a tropical island didn’t mean the weather was always sunny.
Your island wasn’t in quite the right spot to really get the worst of the monsoon season - too far on the eastern side of the Pacific - but you did still get plenty of rainstorms. When that happened, your group of minions battened down the hatches, triple checked the generators, and usually played cards or other bored games. Sorry, board games.
Sometimes you played, sometimes you didn’t. You weren’t playing this time, because you were catching up on some reading. Sans costume, slumped sideways in a chair, one hand on the cup of hot chocolate you had requested and immediately forgotten about.
Then your phone had dinged.
That was weird, because during storms you didn’t usually have service - technology hadn’t yet beaten Mother Nature entirely. But there were the underwater cables that had been set up to provide internet access, and emergency calls.
And that was more than enough for an entity like Optix to get through when it wanted to. Even when your phone was set to silent.
With a small sigh, you had set the book aside and reached for the screen. An email from Optix: the subject line, in all caps, “INVITATION.”
Intriguing.
You opened it, scrolling past the gold-adorned letterhead to the digital party invitation. You read it. You deleted it. You reluctantly pulled it from the trash folder to read it again. You forced yourself to read it a third time.
‘Thank you for informing me.’ You replied to Optix, before sliding the phone away. The book came to rest comfortably against your chest, pages down, probably doing all kinds of damage to the spine. You stared up at the ceiling, ignoring the present to alternate between stewing over the possibilities of the future and miring yourself in the past.
Eventually, your field of vision had been interrupted by a slow-moving face, drifting in from your peripheral. One eyebrow raised, only inches from your own face, it continued moving slowly and smoothly past where most people would have reached a limit.
“Dude.” Alexandria said, “You haven’t even blinked in like. Two minutes.”
Your erstwhile ‘apprentice’ was using her abilities to float over you. Wearing her suit, which had been modified recently to include panels of bright color against the near-black gray you’d initially designed, she looked sleek and surreal. And older than seventeen, though maybe you just couldn’t judge ages past ‘young’ anymore.
“Hello, Menace.” You’d greeted her placidly. “How goes the Great Pacific Vandalism Project?”
Alexandria beamed, and floated away an inch or so to a more comfortable speaking range. She’d finally gotten a better handle on equilibrium in flight, so her gestures as she talked no longer caused her to wobble in whatever direction she indicated. “It went great! We finally managed to get that CEO.” Her grin widened, “Right in the middle of a press conference.”
“It was satisfying.” A different voice had agreed, as another costumed figure moved into your general field of view. This one didn’t lean over you, but rather settled into the chair opposite, and helped themself to your hot chocolate. Cold chocolate, by now.
A bit of concentration had changed that, as the thief raised the mug to consider it. Their dark blue form-fitting suit had changed in recent times as well, now featuring more delicate details around the neck and wrists. Not quite scales, not quite flourishes, not quite vines, picked out in a slightly darker shade. The short cape at the hips now had flared ends, rather than a pointed tip. It had an elegance that Menace’s suit lacked.
Or perhaps that was the wearer?
“Naiad.” You’d been certain that your tone hadn’t changed. “Welcome back.”
Minerva had lifted the stolen mug in salute, and allowed you a trace of a smile. Crime agreed with her - even if she only rarely agreed with it. Once the straight-laced, impeccable hero Athena, she was now known much more widely as the Naiad: a bioterrorist with a strong cult following among ecology groups.
Over the past year, she had very publicly and very precisely targeted companies who were responsible for much of the pollution going into the Pacific Ocean. Working alone at first, then allowing Menace to join her, she had made trips to the great garbage patches that floated in the ocean’s wide expanse, and returned their contents very directly to sender.
Cars, homes, persons, factories and distribution centers (while they were closed and no one was present; employees were innocent until proven guilty) were all fair game. The only way to be sure of immunity from the Naiad’s attacks was to publicly document cleanup efforts, make donations to the groups who did the same, and implement vast reductions in pollution.
It was good mother/daughter bonding time for the two of them. You knew your presence would only overshadow their efforts, so you simply offered aid and tips during the planning phases. And there was the standing unspoken fact that you would appear to bail them out, if it ever became necessary. So far, it had not been necessary.
Minerva had even admitted, grudgingly, that this new angle on life was, at times, fun.
And that, really, plus the trace of a smile, is what had given you a terrible idea.
—------------------------------
What was even more terrible was that Minerva had agreed.
She stood now at your shoulder, just a step behind, while your invitation was inspected by a man who had gotten very tense at your approach. His costume was patterned in pale yellows and purples, a strip of rainbow draped over his collarbones. You couldn’t make out much expression behind the mask, but you didn’t really need to when you could hear the material creaking as he prepared to square up.
“I am… confused.” He allowed, considering the printed invitation. “You - do know this is a hero’s wedding, right?”
“I’m aware.” You answer flatly, the helmet giving you a wonderfully crisp punctuation. You’ve made only the slightest concessions to the event’s formality in the form of a nicer, gilt-edged cape with decorative clasps, and white rose corsages at your wrists to indicate your intention of peace. “I don’t begrudge you the confusion, Sun Dog. I will be grudging if you attempt to deny me entry.”
Sun Dog hesitated a moment more. You really didn’t want to hurt the man, no one you knew of did - which was probably why he was the bouncer at this particular event. It was hard to hate the person whose sole job was disaster response and relief.
Just when you were resigning yourself to this going poorly at the gate, Naiad leaned forward over your shoulder. Her costume had been adapted to include a floor-length skirt in a blue ombre, slit to the thigh on the sides and revealing the usual suit’s leggings beneath, and her arms were bare to the shoulder except for jewelry in the places of her normal accents. She’d pinned her hair up with sea-shell and coral pins, with deep purple pearls for earrings. You stopped breathing, attempting to be as still as possible to prevent any of those decorations catching on part of your ensemble.
“Parhelion. We’ll cause no trouble.”
The name clearly meant something to him. Sun Dog’s body language changed, shifting rapidly through a few shades of things you didn’t know him well enough to identify. None of them were hostile, though, so you gave the man his moment to process.
“I… had my suspicions, but…” Sun Dog shook his head, “Sorry. Not the time or the place. Glad you’re alright - Naiad, is it?” At her confirming nod, he continued, “Anyway, the invitation is legitimate, I’m just surprised you actually came. Uh. Guest book is ahead, gift table to the left. Good luck?”
You nodded regally and moved further into the venue, gaudily bedecked in white and taupe and glittering silver and gold. At the guest book, you confined your signature at first to the simple stylized S that was popular among bored schoolchildren. Naiad signed more gracefully, and pressed the pen back into your hand. You contemplated stealing it to make a point, but added the remaining letters to your name in a normal script instead.
Naiad was also the one to place your gift - a small black box with a silver ribbon - among the bright and shiny assortment of well-wishes, though that was more a matter of practicality. If you’d put it there, everyone would’ve assumed it was a bomb.
And the entire time, you were surrounded by people in costume. Some had made little to no alteration to their standard getups. Others had clearly commissioned outfits specifically for this event. Those who were part of the wedding party were all in what felt to you like mockery of their usual garb; the same shapes and silhouettes, but in shades of champagne and adorned with glitter, their masks or helms altered to match each other.
You didn’t stand out as much as you might’ve. There were heroes who dressed in dark colors and full-coverage helmets. It was the cape that really made your silhouette distinctive, which was why you’d shortened it from its usual wide floor-length to a slimmer, knee-length drape. And besides, who would invite Synovus to a wedding? Particularly this wedding?
Abruptly, you wished that changing your outfit hadn’t felt like so much of a concession, a surrender. You wished that you could’ve hemmed and hawed between narrow or wide skirts, short or long sleeves, backless or high necked. Layers of chiffon, of deep blue with tiny flickering gems in blues and greens and purples, a clear blue sash at the waist, or perhaps a shawl around the shoulders -
But that kind of wishful thinking is what got you here in the first place. The moment passes. Your suit is familiar, fitting, and practical. The rosettes at your wrists feel like chains.
You hear the first whispers from one of the bright costumes around you. Is that Synovus?
You turn to Naiad, “We should find our seats.”
—-------------------------------
You were, rather mercifully, seated to the back and one side, in a portion of the room not quite as well lit. The set up was rather traditional, with everyone split down rows, and the aisle in the center. You were on the bride’s side, and couldn’t honestly have said what the name of the groom was.
A few of the heroes had taken to eyeing you. Before they could investigate or act on their suspicions blindly (you knew which one you thought was more likely), the music started.
And the lights went out.
Your hand found Naiad’s in the darkness, and you lifted it to your helmet so she could feel you shake your head. Not me. Your power was quiet, the shadows entirely natural. You remained still, watching the attendees shift and begin to whisper. Most of them must have been warned ahead of time - prudent, considering how many of these people you’d fought. How many of them had you given a fear of the dark?
When a light appeared, it was not natural, nor electric. Nor was it yours. A pale silver glow began at the foot of the aisle, illuminating from beneath one high heel. Then another. On the next step, the first light began to float, turning from a spot on the floor into a small orb of light. Others joined it, like so many small sparkling stars.
In this way the bride, the hero Dazzler, made her way down the aisle.
You had to admit, it was a stunning display. On occasion, one of the lights would twirl around her, granting tantalizing glimpses of her dress and playing off the crystals in her hair. The pale silver glow was soft and alluring, and in the darkness of the room, it made her seem as though she were a deity of creation; the steps she took forming reality in her wake.
At the altar, she paused, to hand off her bouquet. Then she turned to face the crowd, raised her hands, and called all of the globes of light to encircle her and the man in a suit who was presumably her groom. They formed the shape of a heart, then faded as the room’s lights came back on.
Everyone oohed and awed appropriately. Naiad shifted, and you realized you still held her hand. Without conscious thought, your grip had tightened. Abruptly, you let go.
The two of you sat in silence as the ceremony began.
—----------------------------------
Once everyone had moved to the tables, you actually thought you might get through this without being officially recognized by anyone other than Sun Dog. That was both a relief, and mildly insulting.
Naiad had given you questioning glances since you had left the ceremony, but you’d yet to provide an answer. You’d warned her before you arrived that you would speak as little as possible once inside the venue - your voice would certainly give you away. Naiad had said that was the consequence of being a monologuer. You’d protested, vociferously, because it was true.
But as the guests were mingling, the open bar being besieged, the instant your shoulders started to relax, there was a high pitched shriek from somewhere behind you. Not a shriek of terror or anger or surprise. One of joy.
Of course.
The syllables of your name filled the air, broken into three and a half parts. There was a frantic rustle of cloth and the rapid clicking of heels. Then arms wrapped around your middle, and a heavily perfumed, glittery weight slammed into you.
You, very judiciously, did not move.
“I’m so glad you came!” Dazzler gushed, moving around in front of you. She let her arm trail as she did, so that she never lost contact with you. You felt like you were being circled by a shark. Up close, the makeup and glitzy hair-pieces felt like an attack. “You never RSVP'd! I’d almost given up hope!”
You still had not moved, even to turn your head. Dazzler pouted at you, and you tried to ignore that you knew she was just looking at herself in your helmet’s reflection. Around you, half the guests had abandoned their chairs or their place in line at the bar, half-starting, ready to leap into action. Every single pair of eyes in the place was fixed on the two of you.
And you knew that this was exactly why Dazzler had invited you. You’d known when you received the invitation. You knew when you decided to attend. Because this kind of bullshit was exactly why you’d harassed her into moving to a different continent.
“Many felicitations, Diane.” You reply, as though she isn’t doing her damnedest to make a scene. As though she’d cornered you in a hallway, instead of the middle of the banquet hall. “I get invited to so few parties - I can’t imagine why.”
Laughing, Dazzler moves to swat you on the arm, and transitions from that to looping her arm through yours. “Oh, Syn. People just don’t know you, that’s all! Come on, say hello to everyone with me, it’ll-”
You have no intention of being dragged off by Dazzler to become arm candy. But before you can find a way to elegantly maneuver out of the situation, Naiad is stepping between you.
“Perhaps things have changed since my wedding.” Without a filter, Naiad’s voice is not far off from Athena’s. She’s taking a terrible risk to do this, that someone will identify her by her past persona and its questionable end. But Athena never took quite that tone of condescension. “But greeting the guests is typically something one does with their groom.”
“Oh.” Dazzler steps away, a tiny frown creasing her brow. She’s not used to having competition. Not used to being thwarted by anyone who isn’t you. Still, she recovers quickly, laughing again and holding the back of one hand to her forehead. “Of course! With all the preparations and everything, I forgot there’s so many steps! You must remember, right? All the decisions you have to make, and then there’s so many people here -”
Again, Naiad cuts her off, “Then we wouldn’t want to monopolize so much of the bride’s time. Happiness - and many years of it - to you both.”
She raises an arm to your back, and automatically, you reciprocate. It makes you a unified front, automatically reinforcing her words. You know everyone here will remember this. Naiad is now permanently associated with Synovus.
“Be well, Dazzler.” You add, so no one will think this is some kind of catfight you allowed to happen. You’re not sure that thought was coherent, actually, but saying something seemed important at the time.
Together, you and Naiad turn away, moving to your assigned seats in a corner. The rest of the room is silent, except for the music no one thought to pause. Dazzler’s bridesmaids - most of them heroes themselves - swarm her, whispering furiously.
Dazzler raises her voice to be heard by everyone when she responds, “Oh, we used to date.”
———————————
“I dislike that I can’t even call that woman a menace without besmirching my daughter’s name.” Naiad said, some time later.
The two of you had sat in silence while the room slowly restored itself to a cautious order. No one had forgotten you were there, but some seemed to accept that you were here peacefully. Given that you were not going to remove your helmet, and therefore could not actually consume anything, both you and Naiad had eaten before you came. This also spared the nervous waitstaff the task of servicing your - otherwise empty - table.
You let out a long, slow exhale, below what your helmet will verbalize. “Calling her anything will please her, in the end. Any attention is good attention, and if it lets her play the virtuous victim, all the better.”
Naiad glances back at you, gauging something. “She fooled you?”
You wince, attempt to communicate something solely by facial expression, and fail utterly because you’re wearing a helmet. How to describe what you’d seen in Dazzler once?
“I…. Wanted very badly to be someone worth effort. She caught me by surprise. It wasn’t until much later I realized she actually believed.” You break off, grimacing.
Naiad’s head tilts in a way that suggests she’s raising her brows at you. “Believed you loved her?”
“No - no, I knew she thought that. I wasn’t - I was young.”
These had been the days before Rosie, before Doll. Before there had been anyone but you, still running from and hunting any of Sunhallow’s surviving lieutenants. Nineteen and alone and then suddenly there was someone telling you otherwise, someone with a power of light so like and so different from your father’s.
“She felt.” You say finally, “That we were… destined. Her light, to my darkness. That I was… tameable.”
It had taken some years of retrospection to put the pieces together, but you had. Dazzler had wanted a tame villain; proof she was worth loving enough that it erased your identity in the process. Justification for everything she was, because she was the ‘good’ half. The ‘pure’ one.
“Oh for fuck’s sake.” Naiad mutters. She raises one hand, as though to pinch the bridge of her nose, but settles for bracing against the mask’s thick material.
“That too. But as I said - we were young.” Your voice was dry, and a little bit weary. Dazzler exhausted you, even now.
“Does she-?” Naiad cuts herself off, looking to re-affirm that Dazzler (and her groom) are on the other side of the room. Still, she lowers her voice, “Does she… know, then?”
Your laugh is bitter, but it is a laugh, “No. No, I got away before she learned all my secrets.”
You tap the table, curving your hand to make a small alcove where only you and Naiad can see your palm, and summon a small flicker of light. Then you let your hand fall flat again, extinguishing it.
“I am complete without her, by whatever metric you care to use.”
Naiad nods, accepting that explanation. There had been glasses of water on the table when you arrived, and she’d pulled one closer to claim it. You can tell she’s thinking by the way she traces its rim. You can tell she’s upset in some way by the way the water in the glass rises to follow her movement.
“How’d you explain the tattoo?” She asks mildly.
“She never saw it. I think she believes I have scars I don’t want anyone to see.”
A tattoo was a kind of scar, in a way, so it hadn’t been a lie. And it had fit with the image of you Dazzler so wanted, for you to have been broken and abused. Ashamed.
Naiad narrows her eyes, “If you were lovers, then-“
“Don’t ask questions you don’t want answers to, my dear.”
She leans back in her seat, taking the glass with her. She sips at the water and surveys the crowd. You pretend not to be surveying her. Dazzler was not a secret, per se, but the details of how you’d felt about it are not something you’ve ever shared.
You need to stop giving Minerva your secrets. Particularly when she doesn’t realize how many of them she holds.
The music is upbeat and space-filling. Loud enough that conversations are confined to their groups, but not loud enough you have to shout to be heard. You’re pretty sure this song is on one of Menace’s playlists - something by Chappell Roan.
“Synovus, why are we here?” Naiad asks finally. You willingly give up any attempt to identify the song to consider the question.
“Because I’ve never been to a wedding. Well, no, that’s not quite true. I’ve never been a guest at a wedding.”
Naiad’s gaze drifts to the middle distance, and she downs the remaining water like she wishes it was something stronger. You silently slide another glass over towards her - they set the tables for six apiece.
“Whose wedding were you in?” She asks, making conversation.
“Mine. Technically.” It’s a long story.
Minerva - no, Naiad, you need to think of her that way in the field - had been toying with the stem of the second glass. Now she stopped, becoming very still. At first, your attention pivots to your surroundings, searching for the threat.
Then Naiad says, flatly, “Explain.”
“It wasn’t - like this.” You wave a hand. “I - this was after Dazzler. There wasn’t - I’m not still married.”
“Synovus.”
“It lasted a week, as we’d agreed at the start, the identities were fake, and we swore to never speak of it to each other again.”
It had been a last grasp at normalcy. You didn’t have a social security number, you hadn’t had a community in which to undergo rites of passage that weren’t geared towards Sunhallow. You’d never been to a public school or a prom or a fucking football game. But getting Vegas married and having a honeymoon, then immediately divorcing?
Well that you could do.
“Who did you even do this with?” Naiad asks, flabbergasted and possibly appalled.
“Ah.” You wish you could sip water, to buy yourself time. “Tallflawes.”
Naiad’s outraged, “What?” Is drowned out, however, by the sound of shattering glass, as a blurred figure drops through the roof.
———————————
It’s a bad idea to crash a wedding. Lots of people, most of them easily rallied to at least half the attendees’ defense. It’s worse when more than half the guests have superpowers.
The good news was that no one had to worry about the falling glass - there were four or five different barriers flung up immediately.
The bad news was that it was absolute fucking chaos for five minutes. You hope no one attending had epilepsy.
You, of course, had no intention of intervening. This wasn’t your doing, you were going to be blamed for it regardless, so you might as well enjoy the show. But then you’d recognized the invader as Prodigy. And he was alone.
And the only thing he was yelling, over and over, was your name.
So you stood, removing the white rosettes at your wrists as casually as someone adjusting cuff links. You called to the shadows you’d been keeping at bay. You dialed up the volume of your helmet’s speaker.
And as everyone in the room except Naiad - including Prodigy - found themselves wrapped in solid darkness, you bellowed into the room,
“BE SILENT.”
You also had a small loop of shadow kill the music, because you never did a thing by halves.
As the room suddenly quieted, Prodigy came to drift in the middle of the space. The hum of his hoverboard was the loudest thing in the room at the moment. He wasn’t even struggling against your bonds.
And when he neither complained nor cracked a smile, only looking at you with wide wild eyes and tendrils standing on end, you felt your stomach drop. You knew even before he said, “They’re coming, Synovus! My homeworld - they sent a ship!”
——————————————
[I did say this was the one where they went to space. Buckle up, everybody, it’s time to dance!

Fun it is
Pairing(s): Theodore Nott x reader; Draco x reader; Mattheo x reader
CW: flirting, alcohol, implied smut. Pick your guy. Reader’s got rizz (you can choose if it’s the alcohol or not). Reader’s gender and house are not mentioned.
Synopsis: reader likes to have fun at parties, and when a certain slytherin approaches, fun is indeed what they choose to have.
Length: medium-shortish for each guy.
A/N: sorry I couldn’t get to Blaise/Enzo/Tom, if there’s a request for it, I’ll write it. Also, Theo’s is longer ‘cause it just is, sorry.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Music buzzed through you, the thumping in your chest and intense sounds in your ears lolling you into that wonderful hazy state, where alcohol hits just right, and you’re able to forget about your worries and insecurities.
It was to everyone’s knowledge just how much you could change and let go with a couple of drinks, given, it didn’t stop them from being positively surprised every time.
But in this state you couldn’t care less if people gave you a few weird looks. You were there to have fun, and fun you would have.
You made your way through the room, a jungle of dancing bodies, each contributing to the heat of the night. When you finally locked your eyes on an empty spot to sit, you readily approached the couch, eager to enjoy your third drink of the evening while resting your feet.
For a moment you rested your head back on the soft cushions, closing your eyes to savoring the atmosphere. Oh, how you loved the buzzing.
You were so relaxed, yet concentrated, that you didn’t even notice the sofa caving in slightly by your side, until you felt an arm encircle you.
Theo:
“Ciao, splendore” hi, beautiful~ you found what you recognized to be one of Slytherin’s star players purring in your ear.
You looked into his eyes for a few seconds, taking a moment to recall his name.
“Nott.” You finally said with sleepy eyes,running your tongue along the inside of your upper lip.
Attentive eyes scanned over your face, following each minor movement.
“That’s my name, yes” he smiled. “And you’re y/n, right?” His hand rested on your thigh, which you took notice of, before turning back to him.
“Yes” you gave a small giggle, putting your hand right above his. You tilted your head, looking at him through your eyelashes, knowing exactly where this was going.
“I did not think I’d get that far, I’ll have to admit” he said, looking down at his hand in an exaggerated manner, which in turn made you laugh.
“Maybe I can help you with it then”
“Oh? What did you have in mind?”
You smiled slyly, slowly guiding his hand further up your leg, feeling him tense under your soft touch.
You leaned forward, a sultry whisper to his ear. “Something like this maybe?”
He shuddered under you, and you couldn’t help but feel the warmth of pride and excitement run through you.
He looked upon your lips erratically, his breaths shallower as you inched closer.
“Yeah…” he finally breathed out, letting you close the distance between you.
His hand instinctively gripped the soft flesh as he enraptured your lips in a heated dance.
You let your tongue run along his bottom lip, warmth spreading through the both of you. You then lifted yourself up by holding onto his shoulders to straddle his thigh, and Theodore immediately came to your aid by holding your waist with his other hand.
As you took a moment to give his jaw and neck some love, Theo couldn’t help but bringing you closer, feeling as much of you as he could.
He let out a shaky breath as you caught a particularly good spot. You smiled, satisfied, going back to look at him in his deep blue eyes.
He stared at you, now half lidded and slightly panting. You ran a hand through his hair, leaving tingly scratches in your wake.
You closed in on his ear.
“How about my dorm?”
He nodded desperately.
Draco:
A shock of blonde caught your attention in your peripheral vision.
“Hello, love” Malfoy mused. He offered you his hand, which you took as you let him kiss the back of yours.
His soft lips lingered on your skin as he stared deep into your eyes.
“Malfoy. What an honor” you smiled cheekily, not expecting such company.
He snorted lightly. “No need for formalities”
“Hmm, how kind” you smirked, stirring your drink with the dark straw.
You slowly dragged your tongue along it, before you finally took a sip, suggestively suctioning your cheeks as he watched you intently.
His jaw clenched.
“What? Am I affecting you, Draco?”
Your coy comment and subsequent smirk were followed by Draco going to push his hair back, chuckling lowly and breathing in harshly to shake himself out of it.
“I like your boldness.”
He took your jaw in his hand, the cool of his rings grazing your warm flesh. Suddenly he brought you forward, your lips almost brushing against each other.
“Think you’ve got enough guts to finish what you’ve started, though?” His tone amused, but controlled.
You silently took his hand off you, never letting it go as you got up.
You met his eyes once more and gently tugged his arm.
“Well? Aren’t you coming?”
He smirked and happily jumped off the couch.
Mattheo:
With dark curls and a relaxed demeanor (so much so that, to make himself comfortable, he was sprawling his thigh against yours), sat none other than Mattheo Riddle himself.
“Hi”
Whom, of course, did not need any fancy opening. Still, the lack of effort did make you raise an eyebrow.
“Hi to yourself, Riddle.”
Though maybe you’d see where this could go, nonetheless.
“What’s someone like you doing sitting by themselves over here?” He slightly leaned toward you, letting his index run along the underside of your jaw to your chin, which sent a couple of shivers run through you.
“Enjoying myself” you readily replied. “Though, I guess I could use some company.”
Your hand landed on his thigh, digging in ever so slightly. He observed you, a sort of curious spark shining in his eyes.
“What about you, Riddle? Are you bored?”
You slid a hand around his shoulder and closed the distance between you, your hot breath fanning on his ear.
“Need someone to play with you?” You whispered, with a tone that could make even the most resolute cave.
Suddenly he got quieter and his breaths louder.
“Oh you don’t want to play a game you can’t win, love.” His voice was tense, almost a warning.
You hummed, the hand on his thigh tracing circles higher and higher, before you finally reached for the spot that mattered most in that moment. Mattheo groaned, clenching his fist around a chunk of your hair on the back of your head. His eyes were wild and looking intensely into yours.
“But I think I do want to lose, Mattheo.”
With that, he fervently brought your lips together, before he shot up, and the next thing you knew, you were being dragged away by a strong, incredibly tense, arm.
Tempest
Pairing: Michael Gavey (Saltburn) x f!reader (third person, no use of y/n) Warnings: Very brief mention of drug use, heavy petting. Word count: ~2k
Summary: Michael provides shelter when they get caught in a downpour, and reveals some uncomfortable truths.
Author's note: Happiest of birthdays to @dreamymoomin // @in-a-mountain-pool - hope you enjoy this little gift! No tag list. Follow @fics-by-ewanmitchellcrumbs and turn on post notifications.
It’s mid June in Oxford, a time when the air hangs thick and humid, the rain showers and storms as frequent as the blazing sunshine and cloudless skies. It’s an odd time of year, the feeling of transition as apparent in the weather as it is in the nearing finality of the end of term.
Exams have descended upon the students of every course, and while everyone studies hard, the need to let off steam is as burgeoning as the pressure in the atmosphere that promises thunder and lightning. The parties get wilder with every weekend that passes, a celebration of the turning in of coursework, completion of written assessments and an undeniable sense of finality; first year is drawing to its close.
She steps out of the wine shop on Turl Street, the nicest bottle she could find for under seven pounds wrapped delicately in navy blue tissue paper. Her friends in this city are of a different breed to what she’s used to back home; turning up to a party with a litre bottle of cider or a four pack of WKD Blue is social suicide. There is an unspoken, but incredibly obvious air of refinement, and if your face doesn’t fit then you’re destined for an incredibly lonely three years.
So, she has learned to play along. Turn up with fancy wine, pretend she’s one of them, until Felix and Farleigh show up with a wrap of cocaine and a bottle of Jägermeister, and things inevitably degenerate. They always degenerate. She makes her excuses and leaves whenever they arrive, she knows better now, having attempted to keep up in her first week, and then waking up the following day with an impending sense of dread and a general feeling of sickness that had continued to outstay its welcome after two days.
The social protocols are something she has perfected to a fine art; turn up, bring a bottle, ensure people see you, talk just enough to ensure you’re invited back next time, and then leave before things get too messy. It’s lonely, exhausting, and utterly unfulfilling, but it’s better than the alternative of being ostracised from her course mates.
As her feet land upon the pavement from the shop doorway, the sky blackens. Thick, grey clouds roll overhead and she looks up just in time to feet the first raindrop splash upon her cheek. Shit.
The sudden downpour makes her gasp, and though Trinity College is only a five minute walk away, she knows she’ll be drenched by the time she makes it back, so she runs in the direction of the Brasenose, seeking shelter beneath the covered entryway as she waits for the rain to pass.
She shivers, hair sticking to her neck, cursing under her breath as she watches the tissue paper that had been covering her wine bottle disintegrate in her hands. She shuffles to the side as she spots someone in her peripheral vision step beneath the entryway, giving them space as they lower the jacket they had been holding over their head.
“You’re not staying at this college.”
The brusque statement isn’t a question, it’s almost accusatory, and she snaps her head up, looking into the face of a person she recognises, but doesn’t know the name of.
“No…sorry,” she utters, awkwardly turning her bottle in her hands as more paper sloughs off of it. “Just waiting for the rain to pass.”
The rectangular glasses, sandy coloured hair and angular features are unforgettable. She had seen this guy hanging around with Oliver Quick towards the start of term and in the lead up to Christmas. When they’d all come back from break, she’d stopped seeing them together. Considering that Oliver now hung around Felix Catton like a shadow, it wasn’t hard to guess what had happened. She felt sorry for him.
“You could be standing here for a while,” he tells her.
She watches as a droplet of rain drips from the cleft of his nose, before her eyes flicker up to his. “Better than getting soaked on the walk back to Trinity.”
He hums under his breath, regarding her warily. “You could make it back in under five hundred steps if you walked quickly.”
“Or you could invite me in until the rain passes,” she replies hopefully, her eyes meeting his.
She watches him carefully as he blinks once, twice, three times, his mouth twisting in a mixture of confusion and apprehension as he considers her proposition. She is certain he’s going to refuse, until he utters a clipped “fine”, before turning to open the door.
Following him in and up the staircase, she wonders why she had been so bold. There is no denying she is curious about him, the maths genius that everyone says had shouted “fucking ask me a sum then!” during the Fresher’s dinner, but she would never ordinarily ask a complete stranger to allow her into their room. He’s not even leading her to the common area.
As the door to his room clicks closed behind her, she takes in her surroundings. It could not be more different to the rooms of other boys she has visited during her time at Oxford. It’s clean, tidy to the point of being orderly, everything has its place. The bedspread is pulled taut against the mattress, pens and pencils are lined up perfectly straight next to the neat pile of notebooks on the desk.
She feels her skin heat up when she sees him standing there staring at her. She hasn’t even introduced herself.
“Sorry,” she says, giving her name with an embarrassed smile, “probably should have told you that before inviting myself up. And you are?”
“Michael,” he says, “Michael Gavey.”
He reaches for her hand to shake it, but withdraws upon seeing the soggy blue tissue paper it’s coated in, and she silently prays for the ground to swallow her up as fresh humiliation burns hotly through her.
“Here,” he says, passing her a towel that had been carefully folded over the back of a chair, “dry yourself off.”
She gives a quiet thanks, setting her bottle down on the bedside table, before toweling her face, hair and hands. It smells faintly of Head and Shoulders shampoo, and it’s oddly comforting.
Passing the towel back, she busies herself with opening the wine as Michael works to dry himself. Using the end of a fork that has been left upon the bedside table, she pushes the cork through into the bottle.
“What are you doing?”
She looks up, watching as he wipes at the lenses of his glasses with a cleaning cloth. He’s actually quite beautiful without them, less severe looking, his eyes are strikingly blue. Forcing herself to avert her gaze, she replies: “well, I can’t see a corkscrew.”
“No, I mean, why are you opening it?”
She gives an easy shrug. “Something to do while we wait for the rain to stop.”
Taking a swig of the cheap chardonnay, she winces slightly and holds it out to him. He hesitates, eyes shifting between the bottle and her, before he tentatively reaches out to take it from her. His own face contorts in disgust as he drinks, causing her to laugh.
“Only the finest for five pounds fifty!”
“Christ,” he winces, passing it back to her. “So, what are you reading?”
“History of art,” she replies, slugging from the wine bottle once more.
“Fucking hell,” he scoffs derisively, mouth turning up into a sneer.
“Oh fuck off,” she shoots back playfully, perching herself on the edge of his bed. “We can’t all be maths geniuses.”
He eyes her curiously. “How do you know I’m reading maths?”
“Doesn’t everyone?”
Recognition flickers in his eyes for a moment and she sees a tinge of pink flush his cheek, as he averts his gaze in embarrassment.
“I’m sorry,” she blurts hurriedly. “I didn’t mean it like that. It’s impressive, really, it is.”
“I don’t need one of Felix Catton’s vapid cunts to validate me,” he retorts, his tone suddenly icy.
Her brows arch, eyes widening as the comment hits her like a slap to the face. “I’m not…I’m not making fun of you,” she says quietly, “and Felix isn’t my friend, not that that’s any of your business.”
He narrows his eyes at her, putting his glasses back on. “Well, go on then.”
“What?”
“Ask me a sum. You’ve been dying to since you first saw me.”
“It’s fine. I wasn’t going–”
“Just do it,” he interrupts with a sigh.
She chews her lip hesitantly, placing the wine bottle on the bedside table, before leaning back on her palms against the bed as she sits on its edge. “Alright. Two hundred and eighty four divided by sixteen?”
“Seventeen and three quarters,” he replies instantaneously.
It shocks her, he doesn’t really even have to take time to think about it.
“I’ve got no way of verifying if that’s correct,” she says, chuckling nervously.
“Hmm, why don’t we even the playing field then?” He says, coming to sit beside her.
She feels her breath hitch as the mattress dips beside her, his closeness making the humidity of the air seem hotter still.
“What do you mean?”
“You ask me a maths question, I’ll ask you a question, and it’s up to us if we believe each other’s answer.”
“Art history questions?”
“What do you think?” He shoots her a withering look.
“What sort of questions then?”
“Just ones about you. You’re in my room, after all, makes sense for me to get to know you.”
She swallows thickly, nodding. “Okay, that seems fair.”
“So, why aren’t you friends with Felix Catton?”
“I don’t like him,” she says honestly.
“Why not?”
“That’s two questions.”
“Just answer it.”
She wets her lips, considering her answer. It’s not something she’s ever really even admitted to herself before, let alone said aloud to another person. “I–I don’t like how he makes me feel…about myself.”
“Your turn.”
She turns her face towards him, noticing how close they’re sitting together. The smell of Head and Shoulders shampoo is more fragrant on him than it had been on the towel. “Eighty eight times ninety one?”
His skin breaks out into gooseflesh at the feeling of her breath upon it, and she smiles to herself as she watches him shift upon the bed, his answer slower than the first time. “Eight thousand and eight.”
He looks at her, his face so close to hers their noses almost touch. “Why do you hang out with Felix’s friends if you don’t like him?”
Exhaling shakily, she dips her face into the crook of his neck, feeling him tense beneath her touch, the proximity causing her own heartbeat to quicken. “Because I don’t want to be lonely,” she whispers. She ghosts her lips tentatively against the flesh of his neck, delighting in the way he shivers. “Six hundred times three hundred and twenty one?”
When he breathes out, it’s audible, the faintest hint of a whimper carrying alongside the expulsion of air. “One hundred and ninety two thousand, six hundred,” his voice is strained as he replies, an indication that he’s struggling.
He reaches across, long slender fingers gripping her thigh, out of desire to touch her or simply to ground himself, she is unsure, but she takes the initiative, slinging her leg over his lap. She can feel the rapid hardening of him through the fly of his cargo shorts.
“Why did you want to come up today?” He whispers, turning his head, nuzzling into her still damp hair.
“To get out of the rain,” she utters, gripping the front of his t-shirt as though it’s a lifeline.
“Liar, the rain’s stopped now.”
The darkness of his tone causes her core to squeeze involuntarily, excitement making her tummy flutter. “I was curious about you, you seem lonely too.”
“Do you want to stay?”
“That’s two questions,” she chides, pulling back, resting her forehead against his.
“Answer me,” he insists, his grip on her thigh tightening.
As she looks at him, his pupils dilated, full lips parted, she knows she has no intention of going to the party later. From the moment she met Michael, her plans had changed without her ever being aware of it.
“Yes, I want to stay.”
He leans in, lips pressing feverishly against hers, and as she kisses back, savouring the taste of cheap white wine upon his mouth, it feels as though the pressure has finally lifted. She hopes it rains forever.
Hello!!! I have simple request if you don’t mind how about drunk Hobie with y/n…I wanna see how you would write their dynamic cause I love your writing <3
Thank you for requesting, lovely! 💛
Pairing: Hobie Brown x fem! Reader/ Spider-Punk x fem! Reader
Tags: use of Y/N sparingly, no specific physical description of the reader, drinking, cw vomit, FLUFF
ʕ·ᴥ·ʔ
You wake up groggily to the telephone ringing loudly inside your shared bedroom. With one eye open, you blindly reach for the receiver, hand bumping all over the mess that is your bedside table. Bringing the phone to your ear, face squished on the pillow, sleep still clinging to your lashes.
“Hello?” Your voice cracks.
“Y/N? It's Ned” you wake up in a flash, mind already flashing to Hobie or his friends having some sort of emergency during their weekly get together. Is there a fire? Did someone get alcohol poisoning? Is he okay?
“Come get your man. He's gonna get kicked out with how loud the fucker is right now. The owner’s staring daggers at him”
Sure enough, there's a loud booming laughter in the background and what sounds to be glass shattering. Ned's swirling his words together but sober enough to put together a cohesive sentence. But definitely not drunk enough to handle his friends' shenanigans.
“Oh shit! Please hurry, he's telling everyone that he's Spider-Man, what a weirdo.” there's a rustling sound then the phone falls, banging on the wall briefly. There's fast footsteps and a muffled, “Hobie! Christ, that's your third fucking glass!”
There's roaring laughter, and an unmistakable voice. “Who you callin’? The coppers? You're no fun anymore, Neddy”
The dial tone ends and you're already putting on your trainers, taking your keys, wallet and coat. You don't even bother changing out of your pajamas, they look presentable enough, right?
The train ride was awkward. You in your pajamas, hair disheveled, and mismatched socks. Good thing there weren't a lot of commuters this late or the staring would actually get to you. There was an awkward silence when you stepped inside, but with you staring right back at them with your sleep deprived eyes, they looked away immediately.
You practically ran to the white horse pub, the party was in full swing, people with sloshing pints in hand and men drunkenly trying to walk straight. Hugging your coat closer, you tie them closed, scanning the pub for the familiar figure.
Spotting Hobie halfway up the table with Ned trying to drag him off, his laughs would make you giggle if not for him being so inebriated, chugging an entire pint while his other friends cheer him on, banging on tables and guffawing over the already loud pub. A friend you've recognized before joins him on the table, finishing his own pint. Hobie eggs him on with him tipping his friend's pint closer to the man's lips, while chanting: you can do it, mate!
The wood wobbles and you quickly make your way towards him. Ned sighs in relief, you smile apologetically before he changes course for the other friend on the table, almost tackling him off it.
You hold onto his leather jacket in an attempt to balance him. He usually has great balance but you don't completely trust his coordination.
“Hobie!” You yell through the loud chatter of the pub. The owner watches on in your peripheral, “Sorry, Joe! I'll get him home!”
“You better! Your boy's a menace, he's been inciting everyone on his little drinking game”
“Isn't that good? People are buying more booze?”
“Don't push it, love. That's the only reason why I'm not gonna make him pay for the broken glasses”
You wince, “sorry about those” He grunts, waving off.
Tugging at his jacket, you call his name again. Hobie finally looks down, eyes flicking from your hands to your face. You'd expect him to greet you with a smile or even drop down and hug you, instead, he swats your hands away from him, his eyebrows knitted together in annoyance.
You blink in surprise, bewildered at his actions. “Hey! Hobie!”
“What?” he folds his knees to level with you, his eyes blinking a little too quickly, head tilted, hands on his knees for extra balance.
“What do you mean ‘what’? I'm here to take you home. You're too drunk” you hold his hand, tugging him down on the table.
“And you're too bloody handsy” he flings your hand away. “I'm–” he blinks slowly, trying to get his bearings. “I'm have a girl back home, yeah? Don't” Hobie pokes your forehead.
You get cross eyed, a minute ago you'd thought he was just a little too drunk, the kind of drunk where you're wobbly on your feet, now you know he definitely can't see straight. You decide to play along, just so you can tease him in the morning.
“Oh” you bring your hands on your chest in a mock surprise. “Didn't know that, so sorry”
“No harm, but she–she would…could throw hands if she saw you grope me like that”
Grope? “I wasn't– you know what, tell me more about her. She sounds nice”
Hobie beams at you, a resemblance of what he would usually look like once he sees you in a crowded room. He sits on the table like you just asked a child what his favourite dinosaur is.
“She– she's sooo good to me, y’know” you nod, biting your lip to stop a giddy laugh from escaping. “I told her that I was Spiderman and y’know what she did?!” He excitedly yells, good thing no one here actually believes his drunk ramblings or else the entire pub would know that they're currently drinking with spiderman himself.
“No, what did she do?” you smile, eyes twinkling under the dim lights of the pub.
“She said she loves me! And and” he gestures excitedly. “Supports me! Isn't that fuckin' amazing?!” Hobie sighs longingly. “I miss her, I wish she was here. She'd probably bonk me on the head with how much I've drunk though.” He trails off, his eyes glassy. “I should go home”
“Yeah, you should” you slowly inch closer to him. “Hey, babe?”
“Yes, lovie?” Hobie does a double take, his eyes wide as dinner plates. “Lovie!” He tackles you in for a hug. His face snuggling closer to your neck. You rub his back, giggling.
Now you're the one struggling to balance. “I miss you too” you kiss his temple. “Let's go home before you let out anymore of your secrets”
You would have struggled more if you brought him to the tube, luckily enough, you found a cab within five minutes of waiting (and wrangling) with Hobie.
After a round of goodbyes from his equally drunk friends, you finally got him inside the taxi. The driver clicks his tongue at another drunk passenger.
“He better not get sick all over my seats” the driver says gruffly.
“He won't, don't worry” you say with a fake smile.
“I think ‘m gonna be sick.” Hobie opens the car window, letting the cool air in.
“Please don't” you whisper to him, patting his back affectionately whilst you smile at the glaring driver so he doesn't kick you out.
After a car ride that seemed endless and one throw up outside the flat, you're both finally home. Getting him up the stairs was more of a struggle, he wobbled on his feet, almost tumbling off the staircase, if not for you clinging to him he would most definitely fall. Once inside the bedroom, he groans, leaning his entire body on you. Arms enclosed around your shoulders, head lolling to the side.
Hobie drops like a sack of potatoes on the mattress, bringing you down with him. You land on top as he traps you in his embrace.
“You're so good to me” he murmurs against the crown of your head.
“Mm-hmm, so I've been told” you cuddle closer, not minding the smell of alcohol.
“Because it's true” Hobie places a sticky kiss on your head then folding his neck just to reach your temple.
“You're gonna regret this in the morning” you help him in attacking your face by leaning over him, your elbows on the side of his head, fingers scratching his scalp. His hands skim over to your waist, holding you securely.
“I'll never” kiss “ever” kiss “regret” kiss “snogging you”
You laugh from the belly with every peck he leaves on your skin. “I know that, I’m talking about you drinking too much”
Hobie pauses, eyes narrowed from tiredness, lips still pursed together. “Ah that, sorry” he apologizes for his future self even though he would most definitely say it in the morning when you hand him some meds and lots of fluids.
“We'll talk about it once you're sober and without a banging headache. Rest, I'll take care of you” kissing his nose, you leave his side to grab fresh clothes for him to change into.
Before you completely leave, Hobie takes your hand, squeezing it.
“Love you, thank you” You let him bring your knuckles up to his lips, he sighs.
“Love you too, I think you're about to have the worst morning tomorrow” you chuckle, leaning closer to his touch like a planet orbiting its sun.
“With you, it won't be”
“You get cheesy when you're drunk” kissing the tip of his nose, you leave again, turning away, earning a grunt of disapproval from Hobie.
“I hate to see you go but I love watching you leave!” he says with gusto.
You should've brought a video camera with you when you were in the pub.
HELLOOOOO!!!! IT’S 🌬️!!! SO SORRY FOR THE RADIO SILENCE :((((
But I’m back and ready to get this party started hehe, SO! What about Boxer!Jason running into you at the train station while you’re getting home from work. You don’t know each other, and he’s an intimidating guy, with bandages on his hands and a fading shiner on his face.
And Jason knows that, so he keeps to himself. Up until a group of drunk guys stumble into the almost deserted train station and start bothering you…
Have fun!!!! Much love, you’re amazing :))🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
It’s late at night and work really tested your limits today. So when you get on the train you don’t take notice of the guys in the cart with you. It wouldn’t be the first time that you got him into a cart with sketchy people.
But something about this time is different. Out of your peripheral vision, you see a guy a couple of seats to the right of you with bandages on his knuckles and maybe one bandage over the bridge of his nose.
And you think to yourself in that moment, he’s probably the one guy you will have to stay away from.
 much to your dismay the guys in the car proved to you that that’s not the case. They start coming over to you one by one. The first two don’t say anything to you. They just take up both ends of the bench that you’re sitting on. The third one is the one that actually says something to you. Something sleazy with a pet name that you really don’t like.
You can’t slide away from the man and you second-guess standing up and picking another seat. There’s only a few ways that could go even though you’re just trying to be by yourself. So you try and shake your head and tell him no, but he doesn’t seem to take no for an answer.
 It’s not until the fourth guy comes over, and they are both blocking your front view, that you decide enough is enough. You stand up and tell them to leave you alone and walk over to the only other soul in the cart.
Cue boxer!Jason.
 of course the guys weren’t gonna give up. But that doesn’t mean that boxer!Jason wouldn’t let it slide. He wasn’t going to let it slide to begin with, but once he saw that you got up, he decided that he would step in.
The guys follow you over to your new seat. But it doesn’t last for long because boxer! Jason stands up at his 6 foot height and stairs, both of them down. Which makes them both back up and try to act like they weren’t hounding you.
You’re silently thanking the beat up guy who saved you from whatever unknown fate you were going to meet in the train cart with those guys. And at the next stop, they decide to get off. Which leaves you alone…
With him.
He tells you that he wasn’t going to let anything happen to you. And you thank him for just being there. Of course, boxer! Jason is going to say you handled it well on your own. And you’re gonna throw in there that you had the confidence of a worker scorned.
So you give him your name. He gives you his. And you two hit it off. Non stop talking for several stops. And when it is you’re time to finally get off you pull out a sticky note with a pen. You scribble out your number as fast as you can and give it to him. And then run out the cart.
The doors close as boxer!Jason looks down at the little note you left him. Wondering how he was gonna turn this into more than a one time thing.
A/n: wind anon is back yall!! I hope you’re doing well and thank you so much for sending this in I adore you so much for this new idea <33333 I hope you enjoy.
Bumpin' ~ Raphael x reader
One-shot: bayverse Raphael x reader
Word count: 1k
Warnings: SFW, fluff, slightly mature themes (rated 17+, see my masterlist for disclaimer)
A/N: a self-indulging one-shot I thought up for Raphie boy. thanks for reading!
__________
"Y/N, I'm boooooooored."
Michelangelo let out a long, drawn-out sigh and turned to look at you. You were both strewn about the living room of the lair, him on the floor and you on the couch. This time was normally used for your weekly Mortal Kombat sesh, but Donatello had shut off the lair's power to make a repair, so the two of you were forced to find an alternative activity. Which sounded like a simple task, but had since proven the opposite.
You mimicked your friend's long-drawn out sigh with a smirk on your face. "Yeah, I bet Don decided on purpose to do this right now," you replied. "Not that I blame him, we do get pretty loud when we game." You were laying on the couch as you spoke, scrolling absentmindedly through your phone's home screen and hoping that an app or notification would give you some sort of inspiration.
You thought for a moment as Mikey continued his mock sighs, which were rising in both volume and drama, before turning to him with an idea. "Hey Mikey, do you use Spotify to listen to music?" He looked to you again before pulling out his phone. "Yeah, team Spotify all the way! Why?"
You sat up with a new invigoration. "We should create a blended playlist!" You exclaimed, opening the app on your phone. "We can compare our music tastes and see what we have in common, it'll be fun!" Mikey sat up from his spot on the floor and handed you his phone with the Spotify app open. "Hell yeah, girl! I'm always in the mood to bump some tunes! Lemme go get my speaker." And with that, he took off to his room.
You got to work with both of your phones in your hand. When he returned, you hit shuffle on your blended playlist and the music started flowing from the speaker. You moved to sit next to him on the floor.
"When I look at the playlist story, it says we have a 56% music match." "Okaaaaaaay, that's not too bad," Mikey replied. "Where do we match up, dudette?" You tapped the screen again, showing him. "Our number one match is Tyler the Creator. That makes sense, I listen to him a lot!" "No way, me too!" Mikey exclaimed. "He's definitely one of my fave artists."
The two of you began chatting away and singing along to songs as they came up, while unknowingly summoning a third party.
"Poor Don'll never get the quiet time he wants," Raphael spoke, shaking his head as he walked into the living room from the dojo. His gruff voice startled you from behind and your heart rate increased, as it often did around the short-tempered brother. You had had a crush on him for a few months now, but were far too intimidated and nervous to make a move, so it went unaddressed. The turtle in question strolled over and plopped down on the couch, looking down at you both on the floor. "What're you two idiots doing, anyway?"
"We're just bumpin' some tunes, bro!" Mikey called, shaking his head to the beat of the song playing. "We're comparing our music tastes!" You excitedly said. "And actually, we're using a very technical algorithm, so this is in the name of science! Donnie couldn't argue with that," you grinned up to the turtle in red. Raph rolled his eyes but let a small smirk grace his features in return. Dork.
"Alright dollface. Since it's so impressive, show me how it works."
You explained the process to him as Mikey continued to jam to the music playing from his speaker. Raph listened and examined the blended playlist you had created. "Hmm... Y/N, see what ours would look like," he pondered, reaching for his phone. Again, your heart sped up, but you breathed out an "O-okay" and took his phone from him. As you tapped the screen, you ignored Mikey wiggling his brows at you in your peripheral vision, knowing about your feelings toward his brother.
When you finished, you gasped slightly, and turned the screen to Raph. "We're at 84%!!!" you squealed, showing him where your favorite artists intertwined. You scrolled through the playlist to see a mix of heavy metal, grunge, classic rock, R&B and rap. Tyler the Creator was also listed as one of your top matching artists.
"No way," the brute scoffed, leaning towards you so that he could look over your shoulder at your blended playlist. You both pointed out which songs were your favorite and why, and also chatted about the favorite artists you had in common. Your nerves eased as you connected with him, your heart thrumming at the realization that he was being... kind of vulnerable with you. You were getting to see a part of Raph that he had never shown you before.
All of the sudden, the song changed to 'Dogtooth' by Tyler the Creator, and Mikey jumped up, hollering. You gasped with joy, and you both looked to each other with excitement. "I love this song!!!" You both yelled, and then: "JINX!" You laughed hard as Mikey ran from the living room, yelling the lyrics at the top of his lungs, 100% looking to annoy his other older brothers.
As your laughing ceased and you turned back to Raph, you took in a quick breath as you realized how close you two were leaning in before the outburst. You were still on the floor, but had scooted towards his spot on the couch until you were practically leaning on his lap. You could feel his warm breath brush your face, and he got an amused look on his face as he gazed at you.
Your eyes widened naturally with the proximity, and after a moment of silence and staring at each other, you opened your mouth you speak. But before you could, Raph began rapping along to the song playing from Mikey's speaker, a growing smirk on his face and a unique glint in his hazel eyes as he watched you.
"She could ride my face, I don't want nothin' in return. Except for some her time and all her love, that's my concern. I'm tryna buy my neighbor's house..."
The eye contact he was giving you in this moment could only be described one way: heavy. And your face turned beet red. The closeness, his gaze, his smirk, the words- it was all too much for your poor heart to take.
"R-raph, w-what are you doing?"
"I'm just bumpin' some tunes, dollface."
Nintendo Satellaview
The Satellaview is a satellite modem peripheral (attaches to the expansion port on the bottom of the Super Famicom) produced by Nintendo for the Super Famicom in 1995.
Containing 1 megabyte of ROM space and an additional 512 kB of RAM, Satellaview allowed players to download games, magazines, and other media through satellite broadcasts provided by Japanese company St.GIGA.
Its heavy third-party support included Squaresoft, Taito, Konami, Capcom, and Seta. To use Satellaview, players purchased a special broadcast satellite (BS) tuner directly from St.GIGA or rented one for a six-month fee.
"#i have a post to write at some point about the way this movie depicts intimacy between men physical and otherwise" I WOULD LIKE TO READ IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU!! I really have no conclusions at this point, I'm just so interested in the spectrum of ways that the movie depicts intimacy and physicality (as separate but overlapping categories) between its male characters in a way that feels unusual and unselfconscious on the film's part. There's such a variety of dynamics going on: the intense, constant, often boyish but also more charged physicality between László and Attila; the comfortable intimate but not particularly physical friendship between László and Gordon; the largely intellectual relationship and later power struggle between László and Van Buren that culminates in the brutally physical. There's so much going on, on so many different axes.
(Heads up for, perhaps obviously, discussion of rape.)
With László and Attila, in many ways they seem to be able to connect meaningfully only on a physical level (that first hug, my god); when they try to talk to each other (the first scene at Attila's desk, the last scene when he kicks László out) it doesn't go well. The dance scene, meanwhile, is in some weird third space--the sexually charged coercion going on is pretty overt, but the physicality between the two of them (as opposed to between László and Audrey) never seems uncomfortable or strained.
Meanwhile László and Gordon's intimacy seems to be adjacent but peripheral to direct physicality--Gordon singing to him as László wraps the rope around him to ensure his safety; the way Gordon takes László's cigarette in the jazz club bathroom; them on László's bed together. A lot of their relationship is spoken, though not necessarily directly to each other: László telling Erzsébet he couldn't have gotten the Institute project off the ground without Gordon, for instance, or László saying to the bouncer, I know he is in there, my friend would not leave me.
László and Orazio seem to have the most uncomplicated and warm intimacy, both physical (the hugs are so good) and spoken (will I ever be over Orazio calling him darling; probably not). We also of course see them for the least amount of screentime of any of the relationships discussed here, but I do like that the film establishes an intimacy beyond the bounds of what we see directly: Orazio talking about László's stubbornness, or how much he enjoys a party, or Van Buren (unreliable narrator extraordinaire, but I think this could be taken at face value) saying Orazio carried László to bed.
And of course a brief note here on László and Harry--he twice tries to physically dominate László in a way that almost makes it look like he's grabbing him by the scruff of the neck, using that physicality to undergird what he's saying. László allows it after the Christmas party and shakes it off after the groundbreaking ceremony, but both times it's very loaded.
Conversely, though, László and Van Buren's physical relationship doesn't have this same kind of menacing tone until, of course, the rape scene itself. The first time they touch in the film it's László's doing, when he reaches out to touch Van Buren's hand at Christmas dinner after the conversation about helping to get Erzsébet to America. (I could write pages about this moment; it breaks my fucking heart.) (And then that moment ends up having a terrible sort of mirror in the scene at the beginning of part two, when their hands touch as Van Buren makes László hand back the penny.) Van Buren doesn't try to physically dominate László the way Harry does, and indeed the way Van Buren touches him is generally quite benign--Van Buren taking him by the shoulders on the Institute site after dinner, or grabbing him by the arm after the argument with Jim Simpson, or leaning on him in the quarry. When Van Buren is at his most domineering and manipulative it's largely verbal (the crack about László's accent) or situational (going behind his back to alter the plans). A part of what's so jarring about the rape, I think, is that it's such an aggressively physical expression of something we've seen in Van Buren, up to this point, as lacking a physical component. And it's an example of physicality in the film that is not only lacking any intimacy but is in many ways the antithesis of intimacy (reinforced by the removed and virtually unmoving camera angle).
I said at the beginning that I don't have a thesis here, and I really don't; at this point I'm more or less just listing things that happen in the movie. But it's so fascinating to me, and I felt like there was such specificity to the ways that characters related to each other physically and otherwise; I think about it constantly, and maybe at some point will have some actual conclusions.
#the brutalist#reductive and untrue to say this is a movie about men touching each other#however. i do feel like it is really notably interested in men touching each other#ask#vincentpriceofficial
Bucktommy; things you said from across the room
Buck knew that Tommy didn't want anything dramatic or over the top; knew he would be happy with the engagement party as is, all their friends and family around them there to celebrate them.
Buck knew this, but he couldn't help pinging his fork against his glass after dinner had been eaten and cake was being passed out. Tommy was across the room and raised his eyebrow, but stayed silent from where he stood between Bobby and Chim.
"I, uh, I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for coming tonight and celebrating Tommy and I's engagement," Buck starts, feeling nerves jitter down his spine and into his hands, making them shake. "All of you have been here for Tommy and I's relationship, for all of the figuring it out and finding each other again...and again-"
"-and again for a third time!" Chim calls out, sparking laughter to make its way through the crowd and ease Buck just ebough keep going.
"And the third time, yeah," Buck continues, eyes never leaving Tommy's, "I just want to let you all know that we appreciate you so much. But I also have to take this time to appreciate Tommy, because he never lets me get away with this normally."
Tommy creases both eyebrows down this time, cocking his hip to the side and shaking his head. He knows he can't stop Buck, and Buck knows deep down that Tommy's living for this just a little bit.
"Tommy, I love you so much. The day you asked me to marry you was the happiest of my life, but I know that there are so many happier days ahead. I am so in love with you I'm not sure I could ever find my way out, o-or whether I would even want to. I have maimed for you--"
"Christ, he really has." Comes Eddie's voice from beside him, where Buck knows he's tucked into Sal's side with Chris on his other.
"--I've chased after you, I've grown and changed with you, and I know that I will love you, always and completely. There is no other way forward for me that doesn't include you."
Buck says the last bit in a whoosh of breath, desperate to get out the words that have been bouncing around in his throat all evening. The room is quiet, and in his peripheral Buck can see Bobby's fond look; he can hear Maddie's sniff of a held back tear.
Buck waits, just a moment, for the great love of his life to respond. He knows how he'll respond, he knows the warmth it will paint him with, he knows to wait it out.
Tommy coughs a bit, and smiles, big and wide and crinkly, from behind his wine glass.
"Evan, babe, you've gotta save something for the vows, huh?"
The moment pops and all of the joy Buck has been soaking in since thier engagement rushes in to fill the space. Everyone laughs, but Buck knows he isn't the only one sporting damp eyes. Buck laughs, and gets a wink from his Fiancée, and takes three long steps to meet him with a kiss; surrounded by warmth and laughter and more love than he knows what to do with.
Could you give us a guide on how bots reproduce with each other? And how things would vary with a human partner?
A variety of ways, but this will focus on sexual reproduction specifically, so:
Cybertronian-Cybertronian
The most common method is the sparklet transfer. This happens when two or more mecha consistently share sparks to splinter off an orb that will eventually form a stable sparklet.
A popular method as there's no mess associated with sticky reproduction.
Doesn't require the carrier to have a gestational chamber or reproductive hardware.
If the carrier lacks a dense spark, then they'll need other mecha's spark energy to ensure the orb will remain stable and their own spark doesn't gutter trying to feed it.
This requires the carrier to have medical intervention as the sparklet will need to be 'snipped' off to transfer to lab-derived sentio metallico to build their frame or in the Newspark Intensive Care and Recovery Unit (NICRU) to keep a close observation for any rejection between a sparklet and a chosen proto-frame.
If the sparklet isn't taken away, the draw would overwhelm the carrier as the sparklet wouldn't receive the code to descend down to build their frame. Instead, keep drawing on more energy until death from spark burnout and chamber calcification occurs.
This is the stage where other mechs that aren't the ignitor can influence the upcoming sparkling and pass on their own code. Enough effort and a third party can completely overwrite the ignitor.
Carriage (or in some circles, true or full carriage) is the specific method where a gestational chamber is used to bring a newspark to term.
The first phase is the same as the sparklet method, and should the carrier have a functional gestational chamber and reproductive hardware, then a matured sparklet will receive a code to immediately snap away from the carrier's spark to descend down through a specialized funnel to stay in the gestational chamber.
With carriage, the carrier uses their valve to take in transfluid to provide construction materials and nanites for the sparklet to use.
Once the sparklet descends, the outside party influence is minimal. Donors can give transfluid without passing direct code to the sparkling.
Heats can occur as a latch-ditch attempt for the carrier to call for donors as their frame can't sufficiently support the carriage.
An active gestational chamber will expand over the course of the newspark's development.
Emergence is similar to a human. Chamber will shift downward, and newspark is born head-first via contractions through the valve (or the primary valve should the carrier have two valves).
Cybertronian-Human
It's all carriage method. However, a very specific kind:
A very rare phenomenon where all stages of sparklet formation takes place in the gestional chamber.
Highly dangerous as the orb still requires energy to feed itself, so it pulls on the peripheral tendrils on their carrier and feeds on the residual energy from transfluid.
An incredibly high-risk carriage in Cybertronians as the danger lurks where the sparklet doesn't receive the code to detach itself from the carrier's spark.
Plus coding and priority tree complications in the carrier as their frame doesn't realize they're carrying.
Human pregnancy doesn't run that risk since they don't have sparks.
In a human carrier, the orb forms in the uterus and nourishes itself via transfluid and the ambient energy from the carrier's bioelectricity.
When the orb matures to a sparklet, it deploys connective tendrils to funnel nutrition to it. The tendrils attach to the womb and cause nanites to create zones of platelets in the organ to efficiently gather materials from their carrier's body and sire(s)' transfluid.
Cybertronian sires will be more defensive over a human carrier since donors can influence the carriage. However, it's a short-lived state as a human carriage happens at an accelerated pace compared in a Cybertronian carrier.
Far more common for a human female to be a carrier than a human male to sire, but should a human male manage the far-fetched odds on siring upon a Cybertronian with a functional gestational chamber, then the couple would require a third to act as a donor to keep up with the development as the Cybertronian carrier can not rely on supplemental infusions in this kind of carriage.
#ask#transformers#cybertronian biology#pregnancy#bitlets#sparklings#childbirth#heats#maccadam#my thoughts#tf headcanons#my writing#look the odds of a human guy fucking a baby into a cybertronian carrier would be ASTRONOMICALLY SMALL but it's possible#never say never on Earth. weirder shit can and will happen#medical complications
➛ GENRE:: ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIP, NON-IDOL!AU, SMUT
➛ WARNINGS:: TOYS, DROOLING, DUMBIFICATION, MULTIPLE ORGASMS, OVERSTIMULATION, THROAT FUCKING
── ⋆ ⋆ ── 𔘓 ── ⋆ ⋆ ──
You stare at your bed in disbelief.
Your boyfriend was standing next to you excitedly, waiting for your response to his surprise gifts.
Y/n: Sex toys?
Taeyong: Yeah! We've talked about adding more to our sex life, so I thought this was a great day to start.
Y/n: For my birthday?
He nods, still adorning that huge grin on his face.
It's not that you don't like it, it just caught you so off guard. But you find him so adorable.
Y/n: Is this your subtle way of wanting to give me birthday sex?
His cheeks flush, but he nods.
Y/n: Then pick out your favorites while I get naked.
He giggles the whole time he places a toy on your nightstand, peeking at you from his peripheral. The way your tits bounce as you take off your skirt kickstarts his cock.
Taeyong: Can you wear these?
You look at his hands to see cat ears and a tail.
Y/n: Oh? I didn't know you were into that.
Taeyong: You don't have to! Was just a suggestion.
It's your turn to giggle as you grab the ears.
Y/n: What Master wants, Master gets.
You meant to tease him, but that name completely shifts Taeyong's personality 100%. His eyes darken and his soft smile turns into a sly smirk.
You yelp when he roughly shoves you onto the bed.
Taeyong: We've gotta prep you first, kitten. Maybe we should use this vibrator after my fingers, hm?
The more he moves around the room to get the lube, you slip further into a submissive headspace.
You're both switches, but tonight feels a lot different than your usual back and forth fight for dominance. Tonight's the first time you both settle on one specific headspace.
He covers his hands in lube, lathering it so it gets warm.
Y/n: Oh, fuck.
He makes sure the outside of your hole gets coated in lubricant before his middle fingers prods your hole. He slowly slides it in, not wanting to overwhelm you.
It's your first time getting stimulated down there, so he'd rather play it safe.
Especially since it's your birthday.
Your breathing is slow with anticipation. His finger stops when his knuckle meets the flesh of your ass cheek. He leans down to plant kisses on your already shaking thighs.
Taeyong: I've barely even touched you, kitten. Does the idea of wearing a tail have you excited.
Y/n: Yes, Master. Feels so good.
He moans at the new title. His cock feels restricted in the fabric of his tight jeans, but he doesn't rush the process.
He starts to pump his finger into you agonizingly slow.
You're whimpering like a needy bitch more than usual. And your boyfriend fucking loves it. He never thought that he'd love being in control so much, but looking down at you as his finger works you open - he's screwed.
Y/n: Master, I want more.
He adds another finger, still taking his time so you adjust to the stretch. He can tell that it's not enough for you, so he adds more lube before a third finger joins the party.
You sigh in content, relaxing against the mattress. This seemed to help as Taeyong starts to pump his fingers a lot quicker than the first time.
Y/n: So full.
Taeyong: Yeah? How's it feel, kitten?
Y/n: Good. Very, very good.
Taeyong: How about I go faster?
He doesn't even wait for a response before he pumps his three fingers knuckle deep in your ass. You scream in pleasure, grabbing your legs for support.
Y/n: Master, I'm gonna cum!
The fsct that he hasn't even played with your pussy and you're already cumming boosts his ego.
Taeyong: Go ahead, kitten.
He works your ass open as you cum untouched. The stimulation to your ass was enough to make you cum without needing him in your needy cunt.
Taeyong: I think you're ready for the tail.
You moan, nodding in agreement.
His fingers stay inside you when he places the cold plug against your hole. He pushes it inside, fingers slipping out so your hole swallows the plug.
He massages your ass, watching your face scrunch as you get used to having something other than his cock inside you - and in a new place at that.
He reaches over and grabs a very huge, vibrating dildo.
Taeyong: I got it customized to be an exact replica of my cock in case you ever miss me when I'm at work.
You bite your bottom lip as he runs it up and down your folds. You are so fucking wet for him, it's driving him insane.
He turns it on to it's lowest setting, shoving it into your pretty pussy.
Taeyong: How's it feel to be double stuffed, hm?
Y/n: S'Good. Higher, please.
He turns up the vibration a few settings and watches you writhe on the bed.
Taeyong: You look so fuckable, kitten.
Y/n: Only for you.
He smirks, starting to strip of his clothes because he's starting to feel too hot.
Your eyes roll to the back of your head and you moan loudly. Seeing him naked isn't anything new to you, but he surely takes your breath away every time.
He increases the speed and intensity of the vibrating dildo to it's highest setting. He holds your legs against your chest as you squirm from the overstimulation.
Y/n: Fuck! Too much!
He leans down to kiss you, muffling your screams as his hands leave bruises on the back of your thighs.
He can feel you trying to push him away with your legs, but the way they're shaking makes it impossible to use any strength you had left.
He uses one arm to hold your legs while the other pushes the dildo deeper, hitting the spot you needed it the most. You grab at the sheets as you cum again, toes curling from the pleasure.
Taeyong: Such a good kitten. Now get on your knees and suck Master's fucking cock.
He takes the dildo out of your pussy and turns it off, leaving it on the nightstand. He helps you off the bed and sits on the edge, you kneeling in front of him.
You don't even wait for another command and grab his cock, slapping your face with it.
Taeyong: Fucking hell, kitten. You're so nasty.
You take all of him into your mouth, using your hand when you couldn't fit the rest. Your other hand plays with his balls while your tongue coats the underside of his cock with spit.
Your chin gets covered in your own slob mixed with his pre-cum. Your eyes slightly tear up, and the sight excites your boyfriend more than anything.
Taeyong: Oh, fuck!
You bob your head up and down as far as you could go. He grabs your hair to ground himself. He was starting to feel submissive himself, so he does the natural thing - fucks into your mouth.
You rest your arms behind your back and let him slam his hips against your face. His balls smack the bottom of your chin and his tip hits the back of your throat.
Taeyong: Look at you, my own, personal fleshlight. I bought one, yet your mouth easily replaces it.
You look up at him, which proves to work since he spills his cum down your throat.
Taeyong: You're such a good kitten.
He's breathing heavily when you pull your mouth off his dick with a pop. You rest your head on his thigh, looking up at him with a smile.
Taeyong: Did you really think that was the end, kitten?
You widen your eyes when he pulls you onto his lap. He slams his cock into your pussy, taking you by surprise.
How the fuck was he still hard and horny?
Y/n: S'Too much, Master!
Taeyong: Is it, kitten? You know what word you have to say if you want me to stop.
You shake your head, burying your face in his neck as he continues abusing your swollen cunt.
Your nails dig into his back when your next orgasm hits while he cums deep inside you.
You are so exhausted, you don't register that he's pulled out and let you rest on the bed. He wipes you clean before himself, coming back to cuddle you.
Taeyong: You okay, beautiful?
Y/n: Mhm.
He chuckles, kissing the back of your shoulder.
Taeyong: Can't speak, hm? How about I put on your favorite Disney movie before bed?
You nod, enjoying the way you both take care of each other.
