Well, after episode 40, I had to make a post for my new fave Heinrich Unheimlich, The Toymaker, who was absolutely delightful, and so very polite. How could I not when he simply wanted to offer a comfortable place to sit.

You guys deserve to know I listened to Not Strong Enough by boygenius on repeat the entire time I wrote this. So you know. Keep that in mind.

He just keeps running. He can’t help it. Knows it will throw off his run at 4am with Roy.

Roy.

The point of his current problems.

Jamie’s worked a lot in therapy in the past two years. He knows he has self worth issues. Some days he wishes he can’t look into himself and see what’s wrong.

What’s broken.

What’s been tossed around for years and handled without the care it deserves.

He keeps running.

He’s always run when things get complicated. Sometimes literally sometimes not. He’s not running with a plan. He’s in Colin’s neighborhood though.

He thinks fuck it and runs to his house.

He knocks without thinking.

A light flicks on. Shit he woke them up. The door opens and Colin is standing there. “Jamie? You okay?”

Jamie opens his mouth, he thinks about lying. Michael comes up behind Colin, “hey Jamie? Wanna come in?”

God bless Colin and Michael. They’re incredible.

They are all sitting in the living room, Jamie keeps shaking his legs, “can I ask you guys something?”

Colin and Michael look at each other, “Jamie if it’s about knowing your sexuality-” Jamie laughs. “No mate I’ve known I’m bisexual for years but thanks.”

Colin nods, “okay go for it then.”

Jamie takes a deep breath, he looks at Michael first. Less scary then seeing Colin react to this. “How did you two know you were it for each other. Like that you wanted forever.”

Michael smiles at him. “It was like waves, it hit me one day and then kept hitting me stronger until I was swept up into it.”

Colin blinks away what look like tears, six months married and they are still sappy as hell.

“It wasn’t really a sudden thing. It was like I adjusted everything in my life so that he came first. There wasn’t a question about seeing him in my future plans. He was just there.”

Michael looks a little surprised. He leans over and kisses Colin.

“You wanna explain more Jamie?”

Jamie blushes. “I think I feel forever about Roy but we aren’t even together. Fuck I don’t even know. It’s like I’m an Angel and he’s a God and want to worship him.”

Michael has slowly started smiling more, “Jamie if I may?” Jamie nods, can’t get much worse. “Roy has been worshiping you and in love with you for as long as I’ve known you both.”

“What??” “Michael!”

Colin lightly taps his leg. “What he’s trying to say is that we think you’ll be okay if you tell Roy you want forever.” “I said what I said.”

Jamie nods again, if feels like he’s been nodding to a lot of things recently.

“Thanks I’m sorry I woke you guys up. I’ve uh. I’ve gotta go.”

Colin and Michael hug him before he takes back off running.

He makes a detour to the park. It’s empty at this time of night. He sits on a bench. Curls his legs up. He can’t do this. He can’t be this person.

He was never allowed. His dad tried to ruin everything for him.

What if Jamie ruins this.

His phone lights up. Roy’s texting him.

Where are you.

Christ what time is it how long did he run for.

Sorry took off early for run. At the park near my house?

Be there soon stay in place.

Okay.

God. Now he has to see Roy.

When Roy shows up he sits on the bench next to Jamie. “Where’s your head at Jamie?”

Jamie shrugs. Tucking his arms over his knees curling himself as close to a ball as he can while sitting up. “It’s here, just loud.”

Roy slides closer, he puts an arm around Jamie’s shoulder and pulls him closer. Jamie didn’t realize how cold out it was until he felt Roy’s body heat.

“Can I say something and you not be mad? Let me finish talking before you say anything?”

Roy nods, “course you can. It’s hard to be mad at you when you look this sad.”

“I’m in love with you. Want forever with you. Ran to Colin and Michael’s house to talk about how they knew. They just did. Roy I don’t know when it started but I just know I can’t stop it. I’m in love with you and it’s fine. It’s fine if you don’t feel the same. I just needed to tell you.”

Roy brushes the tears that fell off of Jamie’s face. “Good thing I feel the same then huh?”

Jamie felt the tears flowing down his face when he was talking but didn’t realize Roy saw them, let alone cared enough to remove them.

“The same? Roy you can’t. That’s crazy.”

Roy laughs. “Jamie I’m crazy, I haven’t done anything about it because I’m your coach. Didn’t want you to feel pressured. But I love you, I want forever with you too.”

Jamie risks a look at his face. He’s smiling. “Seriously?”

“Can I kiss you?”

Jamie nods, and suddenly he’s being kissed by Roy Kent. It’s maybe the softest kiss he’s ever gotten. He melts into it.

He pulls away. “You love me?” Roy touches his cheek, “I love you.”

Jamie leaps off of the bench, he starts spinning around he lets out a shout. “ROY KENT LOVES ME!”

Roy starts laughing and stands. “Jesus baby. Come on let’s go back to your place. I’ll cook.”

Jamie spins right into Roy’s arms. “You’ll cook for your.. boyfriend? Partner?”

“Future husband?”

Jamie smacks Roy. “We can’t just skip straight to that.” Roy takes his hand and holds it, there’s starting to be people out but clearly he doesn’t care. “Fuck straight, be my fiancé. We’ve known each other long enough, know everything about each other.”

“You’re going to kill me.”

Roy kisses him again. “I’m trying to worship you.”

Jamie blinks. Maybe this time he’ll be the God and not the Angel. “Let’s go home then fiancé.”

It’s Roy’s turn to whoop. He picks Jamie up with a spin and sets him back down.

“I love you.”

“I love you too.”

hi!! yess!! buckle up 🫡 my credentials are being someone that’s been obsessed with dogs ever since they were very little

going under the cut because i blabbed a lot more than originally intended

jagdterriers are bred to hunt basically anything, originally for (mostly) smaller things underground but nowadays a lot of people use them for boars, coyotes, foxes, etc (wild boars are surprisingly dangerous, which is kind of funny to think about). this comes back up further down with an actual tie to his character i promise

they’re actually pretty small, like 20ish pounds as adults — and yes yes yes i know jason came back from the dead built like a brick but! he also, like, conditions and exercises to stay that way and properly worked jagds are also built like bricks (plus the whole being a terrier thing works in their favor). the standard for the breed describes them as well built and robust, too

the tenacity is absolutely off the walls, especially when it comes to something that they set their mind to (aka hunting/their job). like, they’ll allow themselves to be torn to shreds if it means they get to do what they want to do/what they were made for. this is pretty much shared by all the bats, as they’re all pretty covered in scars, but bro literally came back from the dead with a mission 😭 jagds are also clearly filled to the brim with energy, athleticism, and drive

in most cases, they don’t play well with others at all. which, yes, bruce has eight hundred other children and in current comics jason is on a lot better terms with most of them. buttt, it’s pretty hard to ignore titans tower and every other time that similar things happened.

‘jasons been with the outlaws and works along side the bats’: in situations where they are hunting and actually working, it’s not rare for them to be in a group in order to successfully complete whatever they’re doing. (aka, working together with the outlaws or the bats or whomever to take down larger villains)

and, just like every other genetically prone to aggression breed, they don’t always start that way and it’s rather something that is developed over time/as maturity occurs. choosing to tie this into jasons differences pre and post pit

with proper introductions, stimulation, fulfillment, etc they can be decent family dogs in some circumstances. which also ties back to working alongside the bats i guess? but also all of the other times that theres swapping between him despising them and referring to them as family members

i know a chunk of the ‘red hood protects kids’ is fanon but, (once again) in select situations, they can be pretty alright with kids. protective nature is also kind of a given with all the stuff already covered too lol

bonus: they can have some pretty silly hair and the breed standard allows for a small amount of white (going along with jasons white strip perfectly 😌)

i totally see the comparison to an am. pit bull terrier (the breed most people ive seen compare him to) as well, as they share a good chunk of these traits, but. ya know.

Spinach gets a very bad reputation, along with a lot of leafy greens. Obviously if you have aversion to the color, these suggestions won't help (Sorry!) But most leafy greens can be:

Boiled/Blanched - seasoning and then served with butter is my preference. I like these because they absorb the water. It's definitely a love or hate texture.

Sautéed- this makes most leafy greens shrink and can then be used in sauce! Garlic Spinach mushroom is an excellent filling for savory baking ventures.

Raw - if you can! My preferred salad is Spinach, craisins/fruit(dried or fresh) , blue cheese, glazed nuts(adds crunch and sweet), strawberry vinegarette. You're completely able to mix and match - go crazy! Spinach is a really good salad base imho, probably more than most lettuces.

I do not really have sensory issues with most foods, so I'm really sorry if this completely misses the mark. I just know I hated Spinach as a kid because it was always creamed and unseasoned.

If COOKING is the part that gives you sensory overload (trust me, I'm right there with you) I highly recommend sound canceling headphones during cooking.

If you want to, sit for literally every minute you can during the process. I prefer sitting to chop vegetables.

Have a drink you like on hand in case the kitchen gets too warm - I have almost passed out a lot from the heat, every time it was because I was dehydrated.

Find tools with comfortable grips, and use gloves if you need to.

And if you can, ask for help. I know one of the things that's most overwhelming for me is trying to cook in a dirty kitchen, but I can't always guarantee a clean one. Getting help either cleaning, prepping, or even just company while you eat - it can be really good.

Oh! That goes double if you're trying new food you'd feel guilty about wasting. You can pawn the extra food off on your friend.

i mean this in the gentlest way possible: you need to eat vegetables. you need to become comfortable with doing so. i do not care if you are a picky eater because of autism (hi, i used to be this person!), you need to find at least some vegetables you can eat. find a different way to prepare them. chances are you would like a vegetable you hate if you prepared it in a stew or roasted it with seasoning or included it as an ingredient in a recipe. just. please start eating better. potatoes and corn are not sufficient vegetables for a healthy diet.

Instead of Ric when Dick gets amnesia he still has that whole thing where Bruce is kind of an asshole and wants him to be Nightwing but he isn't feeling. (At least I'm pretty sure that's how that went? I know virtually nothing about the Ric era but thats what I heard somewhere) However...if he was Nightwing then he should know Catwoman, right? So he finds Selina and she gives him a bit of training in burglary and then off he goes to New York. He's going by the name Neal Caffrey and everyone thinks Dick Grayson is dead.

He meets and befriends Mozzie right away and then later Kate. When the fbi finally arrest him he goes to jail and by this time even Batman has no idea where he is.

He gets a secret message from Kate, who was always chill and didn't mind the whole, I used to be someone else then I got amnesia and am doing my best to avoid people who know me cause all the people he talked to were being weird and pushy about him being Nightwing until Batman gave up on him. (except Catwoman, she was cool.)

Anyways, and thus the pilot episode of White Collar takes place and Neal Caffrey becomes a CI. From here on out it is canon compliant (and also explains Neal's pure confidence with the whole jumping out of a third story building thing)

Maybe some of the batfam (or other heroes, like the og titans or something, but I'm focusing on the batfam here) find him during this time, maybe not. But it doesn't change the canon compliance up till Neal fakes his death and leaves. Instead of going to France he goes back to Bludhaven cause his memory is slowly returning and the batfam convinced him to come back.

Thought about putting this in the tags, but reconsidered. Somebody said in the tags "cosplaying tragedies" and I have to agree.

I am currently living in a country which isn't that far from both Russia and Ukraine. We have plenty of ukrainian immigrants coming in almost every day; they are my coworkers, neighbours, people I interact with on the daily. A lot of our citizens have family members in Ukraine. I have heard horror stories you cannot imagine while on my smoke breaks at work. Or in the taxi, because the driver is ukrainian. Or the shop, where a 75 year old woman with empty eyes wanted to tell her story to someone, anyone, who would listen. Truly heinous things. And, while I can't and won't pretend that I completely understand how it feels to experience those things, I can somewhat empathise, because I personally live with the fear that our country could be next. It might be. The government is talking about it, and you can hear it almost every day on the radio, the tv, news sites.

And yes, younger people, both our own and those from Ukraine, sometimes also make stupid jokes about war, or the world ending, or the apocalypse - whatever. However, these are jokes made out of real fear, out of real experiences; we are all trying to make ourselves and each other feel a little more hopeful, that not everything is lost and that we all may come out on the other side safe and sound.

So, what I am trying to say is - stop cosplaying tragedies. Instead, start thinking about how you can help the situation and help ensure that this doesn not actually evolve into something even more horrible than it already is. I am not talking solely about donating money -though it does help- I am also talking about writing letters to your government, posting on social media, protesting, or just plain talking about it with your friends. Stop pretending that the fate of our world, of you, of me, our neighbours, and everyone in between is out of your control and stop wearing other people's tragedy like your god damn Sunday suit.

Instead of being a straight up mini-Feng Xin and Mu Qing, I thought they should just be the ideal subordinate for each, and ended up with a Fu Yao who’s expressive, frank (shameless), and genuinely admires Mu Qing (bc otherwise that dumbass would be sooo paranoid about his loyalty); and a Nan Feng who’s studious, loyal, very proper, and a bit of a nagger (and to his neverending chagrin is forced to handle all the Ju Yang prayers).
