How does Frisk take over Gen? Do they just switch instantly when one takes over the other or is there a process?
:D Another great question!!
Well its not instant normally, when they switch the persion in controll starts feeling dizzy and then the other takes controll when they are disoriented enough, you can tell them apart though, the flowers in Gen's arm and her eyes change color to blue when frisk is in controll!
But one thing I have to say is the eyes only change when the genocide smile isnt on theyre face :3
very much thinking about the time in the boston series in playoffs where everyone got kicked out of the game so sasha took a dshift and during the ensuing mediascrum afterwards george richards asked forsy how sasha was like on d and forsy was absolutely not having any of it despite the fact richards didnt phrase it like that he did go "he would be a great d partner it would be awesome but im happy with ekky too" and sasha just giggled like girl relax no one is taking you away from your bonded dpair CHILL
On the left, the Incubus/Succubus. They're the same species, mortals just refuse to believe that shapeshifters can have a preferred presentation. These are seducers with magical charms who will morph into a 10/10 person of your dreams, but are really just trying to fill a void of longing. Relatable! They're also really intelligent, which combines with that charisma to make them great for conversation. By the way, when you're charmed whatever you do doesn't count in the eyes of gods, despite you not actually being fully controlled. So all the fun times you want without the guilty conscious or risk of sin!
On the right, the banshee! Depressed, avoids the company of the living, can't venture more than 5 miles from home, loves art, and hates her reflection. So plenty in common with many of us! :D Seriously though, it's an angsty ghost elf.
Do you have a character that started off as a joke until their lore started going off in the deep end? If so, which one would you say is the most extreme example?
JB Johnson!
all the d explosion characters stared as incredibly flat rehashes of characters i already had who gradually gained depth as i became more attached to the concept, but jb definitely changed the most. he started out as an 1D obnoxious narcissistic wannabe eceleb; a real "love to hate him" kind of character. over time he gained more depth and a tragic backstory (because people don't act like he does unless they're really fucked up!)
has mommy issues from his alcoholic, absentee mom who had him at 14, and abandoned him for the first couple years of his life while she partied finished school
got bullied throughout his school years (with the exception of his core friend group) for being an awkward, shy nerd, and later for being an incredibly obnoxious and self centered nerd
had a massive crush on dante (dolly's older brother) and got his heart destroyed when he found out that dante was not only secretly dating his big sister chrissy, (no blood relation) but that he also knocked her up while they were both still teenagers
got broken up with by his first girlfriend/love, mia (now marthew) on the same day chrissy died in a car accident on the way to the hospital to deliver the baby (dante was driving)
became the jb he is now after he had a mental breakdown and completely reinvented himself because he'd rather pretend to be someone else than deal with his pain
got groomed online by big name streamers who promised they'd help his career
has an eating disorder and severe self esteem issues/depression
deep down truly believes that he cannot possibly be kc's "one true love" because no one could ever possibly love him
re: "good girl" i think they say it once randomly as a joke and its just one of those things that gets him wayyy more than they expected it would. so now its their secret weapon and they use it very sparingly and every single time he gets super embarrassed about it but it works ill tell you what.
VAMP ROGER AU QUESTION! how would he and barnabas interact together (if they ever interact)? :3 💜
tagging @tortoisesshells because she's my co-conspirator <3
excellent question! this family and their sharp-toothed men will be the death of ... well, several community members of Collinsport, i suppose.
to start — Barnabas gets out of the box slightly differently than in canon, which colors his relationship to Roger and the rest of the household. Roger kills Willie after his attempted assault on Carolyn and Vicki (who is, by that point, his wife); Willie's mysterious disappearance and Roger's suspected involvement makes Jason that much more panicked, desperate, and correspondingly aggressive. Liz goes searching for the lost family jewels in a last-ditch attempt to buy Jason off, and, inadvertently, lets their ancient family sin out of the tomb.
ergo she's made Barnabas' thrall instead of Willie, but this goes unnoticed for a while — even though her brother would, in theory, recognize the signs, and his suspicions are raised, but she's already acting so much unlike herself with Jason around that he doesn't suspect anyone else of doing her harm. yet.
at the start, he and Barnabas get along very well, even before they discover their shared affliction: they're both relatively sophisticated, well-traveled, intelligent people, and for all that Roger decries Liz's emphasis on the Collins name, he leans towards familial connections instinctively (Roger hasn't got much in the way of friends outside of the house even in canon, and he's even more isolated as a vampire).
after he finds out Barnabas is also a vampire, things get a little more complicated, but overall, they're still friendly. Roger doesn't have much sympathy for Barnabas' relentless self-pity and decrying his doomed fate to live as a monster, because Roger on the whole enjoys his vampirism and has made a decent un-life for himself out of it (thanks in no small part to Vicki). but having someone like him around is a comfort in ways he wouldn't have expected, he's no longer solitary or uniquely monstrous out of the Collins family, he has someone else around through the night, and someone who understands the sufferings of bloodthirst and being shut out of the sun.
furthermore, Roger's very much interested in his family history and stories of the past, the building of Collinwood, Jeremiah's ships – and Barnabas was there. there's potential for some very interesting conversations about the past, and the arc of the Collins family history to the present, not to mention literature, travel, fashion, politics and the rest. Roger's his cousin's mirror in modernity in many ways, and that's something potentially interesting to explore: the world changes around them, but Collinses do not.
as an aside, they both have a funny sort of relationship to Burke. Barnabas hates him for his resemblance to Jeremiah and envies his friendship with Vicki and thinks he's crude, and Roger ... well. it's complicated. it's closer to antagonism than not, and Burke has tried to kill him once in this au, and Roger resents his flirting with Vicki, but then there's everything else with their past. so I don't think Barnabas' treatment of him would sit particularly well with Roger, he'd take the attitude of hey, only I can be a dick to Burke >:(
the definite fracture point is Barnabas imprinting on Vicki. Roger's already jealous and possessive by nature, and it's amplified by the supernatural nature of his relationship to Vicki (being closer, bodily and mentally; being necessary to each other; being, quite literally, sustenance) so he's already a little on edge when Barnabas starts paying attention to her, giving her presents, and appreciating the scenery — Barnabas doesn't, exactly, tend to have much in the way of moral inclination to leaving women alone when they have prior engagements, but it's fair to point out the irony of everything Roger was doing with his bloodbag governess when he was still very much a married man.
anyway: Roger finds foreign bite marks on his wife's neck, and he's understandably immensely upset by this. partially out of territorial sentiment, but he also knows Vicki, and he knows that she wouldn't have invited another vampire willingly — which means that she was forced, or hypnotized, or attacked in secret, and there's only the one potential suspect. this is already enough to lose his good will, but he might have been willing to let Barnabas go with a "hands off," had this discovery not lead to finding out what he'd also been doing to Liz. the combination of the two is unforgivable, and it's Barnabas' error to have made an enemy who is very personally aware of all his vampiric weaknesses, and Burke's already carved a stake.
I've been accused of arrogance many a time and yeah, there's some truth to that, but I am the image of humility compared to people who put their random D&D PCs in actual play main tags or as reblogs/replies to barely related posts.
melondoggy... ʕ ゚ ● ゚ʔ tell me what types of dogs you are into and maybe why or whatever u want tbh
omg dogs are my special interest!! i love all well-bred purebreds from ethical preservation breeders! some of my favorite dogs are beagles, giant breeds, "scary" dogs, and livestock guardians. specifically (dogs that i would own) saint bernards, newfoundlands, leonbergers, great pyrenees, dobermans, cane corsos, beaucerons, and beagles !! quite the mix i know. i would also own a border collie and more intense livestock guardians if i had farm animals that needed herded/protected (i don't currently)

HAPPY CYMBALS, HAPPY _______
transcript under the cut
Transcript:
[...] when I ran into Jimmy Clark, Lars' drum tech, backstage.
Steffan: Jimmy, why don't you tell us what you are doing here
Jimmy: well, I'm getting all the danish spit off the cymbals, that's there every night after a show. I wanna make sure the cymbals are clean every night -shiny, like brand new. It's just my thing, I've been that way all my life, even with my own kits, so... I just like them to be clean.
Steffan: I mean, the alarming thing is I came in here and there is an actual industrial looking sander
Jimmy: yeah, it's just a grinder with a polishing pad on it. Yeah, I put a dab of doo on the end of it --it's called Flits, you know, nice little product, if they wanna send me more they can *laughs*
Steffan: well, very good. We'll be coming to you during the tour and talk to you about more the four drum kits you have to work with, but, for now-- should we listen to the sound of you working?
working on finding a ring for my partner and planning some sort of nerdy ass proposal (magic or d&d or larp related in some way) and every time I'm thinking about it or working on it I'm mentally cackling and rubbing my gay little hands together it's so good
Hey hey hey just btw i love receiving asks. Whenever I see one in my inbox I get all giggly and happy :3 sure I don't respond right away sometimes at all but I really do enjoy getting them :D
(Mostly posting this bc I get nervous when sending people asks, so I want y'all to know you don't need to be :D)
Hi friend! What are your 3 favourite things you've ever made?
GREAT QUESTION I gotta chew on this one...!
I think number one favorite might be my Red Robe; I wish it had pockets, but it's super comfy and I drafted the entire pattern myself
honestly I REALLY love this spiral earring I made for my Caduceus cosplay; I like to just wear it around, the only reason I don't more often is that it's held together with magnets and I'm afraid I'll lose it
third might beeee the cloak of the manta ray? I drafted this pattern completely from scratch AND designed the gold accents myself where you can't see them in the DMG illustration AND the whole outer layer is waterproofed so it sheds water, I'm really proud of it
