Oh man, okay, sorry for taking so long to reply to this ask! But it's such a good one and I unfortunately have the memory of a gold fish, so I needed to do Research™ (aka reread all my favs again lmao) so I could answer it properly. 😂

I only have one Steter fic of my own atm, so I guess that's my de facto personal fav for now…

But as for other folks' work, god, there are sooooo many great Steter fics out there!! So these are just a handful of my top favs, and definitely not a comprehensive list!

Five Times Peter and Stiles Troll the Pack by taylorpotato Rating: M | 2.5k | requires an AO3 account to read Stiles and Peter yell at each other in Polish, misleading the pack into think they're fighting, when in reality it's all just like completely fuckin' filthy dirty talk lmao. Short, but very funny, and such a perfect capture of their mischievous dynamic. 10/10, would recommend!

The Devil You Know by Twisted_Mind Rating: E | 11.6k Peter is there for Stiles when no one else is, and uses that to slowly manipulate his way into earning Stiles' explicit trust. And ooooh boy, is it so delicious and spicy. God damn! Cards on the table: this fic definitely won't be for everyone since it wades into some darker waters. But oh my god do I love love LOVE Peter's characterization in it. God, I feel like I could write a whole damn essay about this fic, but then I'd just end up spoiling the whole thing LOL. Just--if you like darker, manipulative Peter and enjoy your sweetness just a wee bit twisted, then 10/10 would recommend!

The Prince and the Pease by luulapants Rating: E | 47k | requires an AO3 account to read Medieval/Royalty AU where Peter is forced to cede his claim to the throne and become a "guest" of King Deucalion's as part of a peace treaty between the two kingdoms. Stiles, who is suspiciously far too mouthy for your average servant, is gifted to Peter as a bedwarmer. This one does such an incredible, masterful job at translating the characters into its setting and time period. The sass, the wit, the wordplay! You can definitely tell the author knows their shit, and my god is it fantastic. The plot itself is also so satisfying -- lots of great ups and downs, and, ugh, just so good! (Be sure to read p2 for the full ending btw!) Needless to say, 10/10, would recommend!

Keeping him (It's all about intent) by sittinginmytincan Rating: M (& E for oneshot sequel) | 121k Stiles winds up slingshotted into his own future, where it turns out he's married to Peter Hale of all people. His only way back is with Lydia's help, but she's gone mysteriously missing somewhere on the east coast while investigating some strange disappearances. Man, this fic….. I feel like the writer for this one must have received a checklist of things I'm into and decided to mark nearly every single one of them lol. Time travel, woke up married, magical theory, an enthralling af plotline -- and it's so thorough. Like, everything is so incredibly well thought out, the characterization is on point, and the development of Stiles and Peter's relationship is just chef kiss. Definitely 10/10, would recommend!

The Striking Complication by aurevell Rating: T | 118k I don't even want to write a summary up for this one because the mystery of it all and peeling back what's happening piece by piece is, imo, the best way to experience it. This story is intense as fuck, near relentlessly oppressive, and impossible to put down. It keeps you constantly at the edge of your seat as you try to figure out what is going on and how Peter and Stiles will survive it, with these heart-wrenchingly sweet breather moments sprinkled throughout. If you enjoy time loop stories, this one is an absolute must read! 10/10, would recommend!

build-a-beau by veterization Rating: E | 41.5k Tired of his dad always worrying about him being single, Stiles decides to pay for a fake boyfriend service so he can finally get his pops off his back about it. It goes about as well as one can expect a fake texting boyfriend you accidentally catch real feelings for can go lmao. This fic is wonderfully witty, with really fantastic banter between the two of them, and it's just so very fun getting to watch the pretend part of their exchanges slip more and more into something genuine. 10/10, would recommend!

Under the Songbird's Wing by mia6363 Raing: E | 87k Stiles is captured and held in captivity alongside Peter, Deucalion, and Satomi Ito. To survive, Stiles runs through lacrosse drills and tells stories, eventually persuading his fellow cellmates out of their shells and establishing a profound, unbreakable bond between them. This one is HEAVY, folks. Like, heavy heavy. But, god, it's also such a beautiful exploration of the characters and the bonds they develop through shared captivity. I don't even know what more to say, really, it's just haunting and lovely and awful and wonderful all at once. In the mood for something that hurts? Then 10/10, would recommend!

kind of random but the ceo × assistant au has me thinking about like...mike and will as a villain duo. like villain!mike and henchman!will except will is his main henchman, if that makes sense - like the one who is always by mike's side, who mike clearly likes the most, has the best relationship with, and confides in all of his Evil Schemes™️ with. lol.

-thinking about them eventually having a moment while doing some villainry or whatever with a ton of sexual tension which eventually leads to them developing a fwb relationship where mike fucks will to get some relief from stress (will is fine with this. in fact, he wants it and regularly asks mike for it). mike loves it and ofc since he's an evil villain they have mad kinky sex LMAO

-mike wearing those silly cartoon villain boots and will not being able to be normal about it. because they're like. sleek black high heels.

-mike only showing real emotion around and then slowly falling for will, even if he's seen as evil by everyone else. (btw, i don't actually know what he's doing that's so evil. so just, like, generally think of some cartoon villain when im talking about this ig😭)

-mike having power over everyone and will being so goddamn into it and having intense fantasies about mike excercising that power over him. mike can totally tell because they're together in the evil lair all the time and jokingly flirts at will which makes him VERY blushy. eventually will has enough and gets bold and gets him all flustered by getting in mikes space....AUGHH and mike dominating will while also being sooo sweet with him because he loves him

-mikes other henchman getting confused because they thought will was at the same level as them but then him and will become more like an evil duo since mike favors him so much.

-mikes henchmen knocking on his door to bring him news of a new scheme's progress and they find the door closed and locked because mike thought they'd be gone longer carrying out his plans so he took to fucking will in the meantime🥴 this eventually causes them to get caught because they are NOT slick.

Immediately I'm obsessed with will becoming the favorite henchman, like of course mike feels a pull towards him. a genuine connection but also some protectiveness, a soft (vulnerable, uh oh!) side

okay is it lame to use will being creative to say maybe he comes up with actual creative, efficient plans or tactics that no one else does and it impresses mike, excites him. when the first few work mike feels a rush at how much better things are with will around. will feels a rush of his own at the praise mike gives him and more alone time with mike he earns...

idk if we're staying cartoony level or actually dark, like blood and killing, but oh they should totally defeat an enemy as a team (!!!) for the first time and it just ignites something in mike, literally pulling will in to devour him in a kiss, a quick fuck next to the unconscious/dead body.

the stress relief sex YUM. Absolutely kinky. a will that loves some pain and being restrained, a mike that enjoys being rough and passionate and is so happy he has someone to keep up with him. but like you said, still so gentle. cooing and teasing, edging and marking. will's in heaven, he feels special (he is).

will loving watching mike in action and being powerful is so aghenvjksks HUGE yes from me, that suits this au soooo well! him getting hot and bothered and dreaming of mike taking him then and there. OH OH okay imagineeee mike threatening an enemy or getting a whimper of pain out of them and flicking his gaze over to will just brief enough to know he saw it all and got aroused about it.

will getting up in mike's space while being shorter 🙈 delicious thought, blinking up at him with a challenging look and catching mike off guard. or getting in his space when mike's sitting and mike does not mind the view at all. only person he'll allow to be above him like that.

omg the boots. will loving the sound of the heavy clack clunk as mike slowly approaches the enemy of the day, like the fear that sound arouses in other people just, well, arouses will too.

Also I love will not being normal about the boots as if he's not definitely wearing something skin tight and seductive as fuck as his beautiful henchman self. driving mike completely insane.

sooo sorry but I love a damsel moment and what you said about the other henchmen thinking will was at the same level but was actually favored... it's making me think of one of them not taking it well and making an enemy out of mike by taking will, and it's literally the darkest most intense mike's ever been while getting will back. mike becomes a hero anyway in his own twisted way <3 HAHA

Idia and Yuu age 5

A young boy with pale skin and flaming blue hair wandered through the forest following a shiny light. He had noticed it float by while his father was busy at an annual conference hosted by the Ceres family. Curious about the light and bored from doing nothing, the boy decided to follow it.

"Hey! Wait for me!" The boy called out. The light continued moving farther and farther. His breathing started becoming heavier the more he ran. Suddenly, the light stopped, stood next to a tree, and gave Idia an expected look. Idia ran until he got a glimpse of what the light was. "A fairy.." He said breathlessly. Idia had heard of fairies from his mother and how they can come in many shapes and sizes. This fairy was small and emitted bright light. Nothing like the famous prince from Briar Valley the boy had heard about. 

"Who are you? How do you know my friend?" A new voice asked.

"AH!" Idia screamed and found a girl sitting behind the tree the fairy stood by. The girl wore a dress, and her eyes were red from crying. 

"I'm Idia. I saw this fairy fly by, and I followed it. What's your name?"

The girl smiled sadly. "Yuu Ceres." The girl turned to the fairy. "Thank you, Fira." She then turned to Idia. "I think she was looking for someone to cheer me up."

Idia sat down next to the girl. He pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket and handed it to her. "What happened?" he asked with curiosity. 

"My mom. She is always so overprotective and expects a lot from me. She won't let me have fun."

"Why don't you just tell her or run away?"

"Because she won't let me leave. Even if I did, I don't know who to turn to since everything I hear about the outside world is through books." Fira frowned and said something, although all Idia could hear were bells. "Yes, I have you and the other fairies, but I can't go to your world with you."

Idia hummed in thought until he got a lightbulb. "I know! My dad wants me to come with him to these meetings. Why don't we meet again and play the next time I come?"

"Really?! Do you mean it?"

Idia nodded shyly. "Yeah."

Yuu grinned and pulled Idia in for a hug. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

Idia blushed before slowly hugging Yuu back. Little did the two kids know that this moment set the foundation for the precious friendship between Idia and Yuu. Their friendship would last for a lifetime. 

Idia and Yuu age 6

"Five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten! Ready or not, here I come!" A 4-year-old Ortho giggled. Meanwhile, Yuu and Idia were hiding closely together behind a giant boulder. 

"Hehe, he is not going to find us now." Yuu laughed as she watched the boy go in the opposite direction from their hiding spot. Her eyes were so focused on Ortho that she did not notice Idia's hair turning slightly pink. 

"Maybe, but he will find us if you keep laughing like that."

Yuu stuck her tongue out playfully at Idia. "Please. We'll be fine."

Idia checked the area before turning to Yuu. "We should split up so Ortho would have difficulty finding us." The boy moved to stand up but was stopped by Yuu grabbing his hand.

"Wait! We should go together!"

"But it is better for us to divide and not stick to one spot."

Yuu slowly let go of Idia and sighed. "I just don't want you to leave me." She looked up at Idia's yellow eyes. "You are my best friend. If we go down, we can go down together."

Idia lightly blushed, and he looked away from Yuu's adorable eyes. How dare his crush be so cute. "I-"

"I FOUND YOU, BIG BRO AND BIG SIS!"

"AHH!" Idia and Yuu immediately clung to each other and screamed.

"Let's run for it!" Yuu exclaimed.

"I agree." Idia nodded, and the two made a run for it. 

All three children ran through the forest without a care in the world. Their innocent laughter filled the air, unaware of the change about to occur.

Idia and Yuu age 10

Yuu sat humming a tune in her designated tree. She was waiting for her best friend, Idia, to return for their annual meet-up. Yuu thought that their first meeting five years ago was not out of luck. She finally felt something similar to freedom by spending time with the Shroud brothers. Her mother was not constantly eyeing her or strict teachers nagging about her mistakes. Yuu could finally be around people besides her fairy friends who did not care about these things.

"I'm so excited, Fira. I can show Idia how my magic has been improving." Yuu smiled as she conjured a tiny daisy from the ground. Fira's bell voice made Yuu laugh. "What? I want to show off my magic."

Fira rolled her eyes.

"Fine. I mostly want to see him. I like seeing his hair be pink when he thinks I don't notice." Yuu giggled while she eyed the flower. "I wonder what it means…" Fira's voice jingled, causing Yuu to look at her in shock. "You think he likes me? There's no way he does, Fira. He only sees me as a friend." 

Yuu traced her fingers along the grass, causing more flowers to grow. It was something to pass the time as she waited. She just had to be patient and wait. 

Minutes passed.

Hours passed.

Finally, the sun was setting. 

Yuu sat there waiting on Idia, only for him to not appear. Fira watched her friend in pity as she left stood up to leave. 

"It's okay. Things happen. Maybe he will come tomorrow?" Yuu said with hope as she walked back home. The girl felt an unsettling weight on her chest with each step. 

Yuu let her feet guide her, and soon enough, she was at the long dinner table eating with her mother and the conference attendants. Usually, this is where she would return to her quiet self but speak to Idia with a code they made up. 

The girl scanned the crowd until she spotted a familiar mop of blue fire hair, only to find one from Idia's father. Despite that, Yuu felt hope that he would return tomorrow. She made a promise to return to their spot to wait for him.

Only to find out he never did, even after the conference ended. 

Idia never returned for years; it was like he was never there. 

Yuu felt the uncertain feeling grow as the years progressed. It was after many years that she realized what it was: heartbreak.

Idia and Yuu age 18

Yuu lay on a sofa reading a book in peace. It was one of the rare moments when her mother was on a trip for days, leaving Yuu to her own devices. Yuu was reading a story about a faraway city in a desert when she heard a knock on the door. She listened to the butler open it and some talking nearby. It was an unfamiliar voice that Yuu was not used to, so she ignored it instead. The girl continued reading until she heard footsteps heading her way.

"My Lady, you have a guest. His name is Idia Shroud."

Yuu dropped her book and turned to the butler. There, standing next to him, was her old childhood friend. He now grew very tall, wore a grey outfit, had long flame-blue hair almost touching the floor, and had a nervous look. His yellow eyes looked at anything but Yuu. 

"Thank you, Mecon. You can go now. I want to speak to him privately." 

Mecon bowed and stepped out, leaving Yuu and Idia alone to sit silently. Yuu had a neutral look while Idia continued to look at the walls. Yuu took a few steps towards Idia and stopped in front of him.

"Hi."

"Why?" Yuu's hands curled up in fists, and she took a deep breath to fight the urge to punch him. "Why did you disappear and not tell me anything?"

"Yuu, I-"

"Let me finish," Yuu responded sharply and glared daggers at Idia. "You left me for years and suddenly showed up just like that? I thought that we were friends?"

 "I know sorry is not going to fix this, but I had a reason." Idia looked away and sighed. "There was an accident at the Isle of Woe, and Ortho did not make it."

Yuu felt her anger mostly drain away, and shock took its place. "I'm so sorry."

"It's alright. The accident caused me to lock myself in my room because I wanted to help rebuild my brother." A small smile graced Idia's face, and he turned to Yuu. "You should see him now. He has become a technomatic humanoid and can now make his own decisions. I can bring him for you if you want."

"So Ortho is now a robot?"

"Initially, but now he has advanced so much that he is more human-like. He did that all on his own." Idia shifted his weight before he spoke again. "Yuu, I know neglecting you was not the right thing to do. However, I know Ortho misses you, and I-" Idia stopped himself. "want to fix our friendship."

Yuu looked at Idia in confusion, but she did not question him. "You know that may take a while.”

Idia looked at Yuu with confidence. "I am willing to take the risk."

"WHY DID I SAY THAT?" Idia cried the moment he entered his room. Meanwhile, Ortho closed his book and looked at his brother in curiosity.

"How did your meeting go with Big Sister?" Ortho could recall meeting the girl from his old memories and still referred to her with that nickname despite never meeting her. There was a reason the previous Ortho called Yuu that, and Idia never figured it out. 

"Well, she got mad at me, as she should, and then I made a mistake."

"What did you do?"

Idia sighed and looked at his brother. "I did not tell her I missed her and said I wanted to fix our friendship instead. How lame of me for not admitting it!"

Ortho set his book aside and floated to his brother. "That is still a good start! An important step to a healthy romantic relationship is friendship."

"ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP? Where did that come from?"

Ortho only giggled. "Big Brother, my old memories show you always blushed around Yuu. That means that you like her!"

"Ortho, I was a kid at the time. It was basically puppy love. Besides, she did not like me that way."

"Your heart rate is increasing."

"Because I am being a laughing stock right now!"

Ortho sighed. "There is nothing wrong with having feelings. Your research notes always included Yuu one way or another."

Idia looked at Ortho quizzingly. "You looked at my notes?"

"So you should focus on being her friend and then see where it goes. It could help rekindle your relationship."

Idia sighed. His friendship with Yuu was practically at level 2 and not level 100 after many years had passed. It would be hard, but he needed to work to save it. 

Idia and Yuu age 24

A few years passed since idia and Yuu reunited, and they rekindled most of what they had lost. Both had changed in their own unique ways. In fact, Yuu thought that Idia's shy personality was adorable. Gone were the annual visits. Instead, Idia made an effort (shocking, right) to send in a drone that looked like a bird with a hologram attached so they could keep tabs on one another. 

Yuu was surprised by the number of inventions Idia made during their time apart. He always continued to surprise her at each visit. His latest one was currently a surprise for Yuu. 

"Where are you taking me, Ortho?" Yuu asked. She was currently being led somewhere by Ortho, floating behind her with his hands on her shoulders. A cloth was tied around Yuu's eyes, so she could not see anything. 

"It's a surprise from Big Brother!" Ortho said gleefully, causing Yuu to giggle. Seeing how her friend had grown ever since they first met was nice. Both Yuu and Ortho continued walking until Ortho stopped putting pressure on Yuu. "Okay, we're here." The boy said and proceeded to remove the blindfold. 

Yuu squinted her eyes as bright light entered her vision. She blinked until her eyes became adjusted to her surroundings. She was in the middle of a field, with trees lining up the border, and in front of her was no other than Idia standing next to an odd-looking contraption. 

"What's that?" Yuu asked, pointing to the machine next to her friend. 

Idia's eyes widened, and he twiddled his fingers together. "It's your birthday gift." He replied shyly, pink covering the tips of his hair. 

Yuu examined the machine. "Really? What does it do?"

"Just watch." Idia pressed a button, causing a dome to project from the machine and appear around the field. The machine spilled out various seeds, scattering them amongst the grass. Once it was settled, Idia's hands glowed. Yuu watched as he murmured a spell, causing a variety of flowers to grow. Light fairies appeared like fireflies and flew to each flower, illuminating each one in multitudes of colors. Meanwhile, Ortho flew around like Yuu's fairy friends.  

Yuu's mouth opened in shock as she inspected a few. "Are these marigolds?" She pointed at another nearby, "And is this a snowdrop?" She turned to her friend in amazement. "How did you do this? These two should not grow in the same season."

Idia looked away from Yuu. "Well, it was not hard. This dome creates a greenhouse effect, so you can grow various flowers here. They also stay alive longer." He slowly turned to Yuu. "Do you like it?"

Yuu felt touched for the first time in her life. She felt her heart grow light and tears form in her eyes. "Idia," She wiped the tears out of her eyes. "I love it. This is the best thing you could have ever given me."

"I know how much you love flowers."

"And I cannot thank you enough." Yuu suddenly hugged Idia and rested her head on his racing heart, causing him to let out a small eep. "Thank you, Idia. I love it."

Ortho and the other fairies watched as Idia's hair became pink, and he slowly hugged Yuu back. The two looked like lovers stuck in their own little world. 

"They are definitely in love."

The fairies jingling voices agreed.

Two individuals lay in their beds that night, deep in thought. 

"Fira?" "Ortho?"

"What is it?" both replied in their own ways. 

"What is this feeling I'm experiencing? My heart keeps racing when I think of Yuu/Idia. I want to see her/him smile and be around her/him all the time."

"Oh, Yuu/Idia, you are just in love."

A blush filled their faces, and they smiled gleefully. They felt warm in their chest at the thought of the respective crush. It felt nice, like a flame infamous in the Shroud family. 

Both the fairies and Ortho knew what they needed to do.

"Mother, I need to talk to you," Yuu said, entering her mother's study.

Demetra set her wine glass down and looked at her daughter. "What is it?"

Yuu took a deep breath and confidently walked up to her mother. "It is about my marriage. I found someone I am interested in."

Demetra raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Who is the lucky suitor?"

"Idia Shroud."

Suddenly, as soon as the name left Yuu's mouth, the room felt icy. Yuu questioned whether or not her mother had an affinity for ice for that brief second. 

"What?"

"I said that the man I want to marry is Idia Shroud."

"No."

"But mother!"

"No, Yuu," Demetra said, standing up. "The Shrouds are nothing for troublemakers. They deserved their punishment after they rebelled against the Jupiter family."

"But he did nothing, Mother! That was all in the past!" Yuu exclaimed. Her eyes burned in fury as she recalled her dear friend's shy personality. 

Demetra scoffed and shook her head. "Their family does nothing more than play with monsters. I heard that Shroud, whom you love so much, even turned his brother into one after an accident. I've seen your loved one's father shy away ever since."

Ortho's face comes to mind, how he still smiled despite not being the original Ortho. "Don't you dare say that about Ortho! Idia loves him as a brother!" Yuu said with tears in her eyes. 

"Or what? The family is cursed, and if you run to him, you will suffer too. You will be stuck on an island surrounded by monsters." Demetra remained indifferent as she watched her daughter cry. "Yuu, I am doing this for your own good."

"Doing what? I love him!"

Demetra tsked. "You need to get over your puppy love. Besides, I found someone suitable for you."

Yuu froze and looked at her mother. "What do you mean?"

Demetra smiled, the first good emotion during the whole conversation. "I spoke to the head of the Jupiter family, and he agreed that you are to be arranged to marry Alcides Jupiter. He is smart,  handsome, and in line to take over his family. A perfect match for you."

Yuu felt her world collapse as she herself fell to her knees. She knew of Alcides, but she could not imagine being tied down to him because of her mother's doing. She wanted the freedom to go out and see the world outside the little bubble she had been stuck in for 24 years. Sure, she might be stuck on the Island of Woe, but she would have more access to the outside world than she was now. 

Demetra kneeled down and patted Yuu's shoulder. "You will get to meet him next week. Trust me, Yuu. Everything will work out in the end. As they say, mother knows best." She walked out of the room, leaving Yuu by herself. 

Yuu wiped her eyes with her hands. Her eyes wandered to the walls and their flower designs around her. She felt like the walls constricted her and trapped her in a glorified cage. Yuu's eyes caught on an orange light floating in a window. She looked at the light with determination. 

She needed to get out now.

A few days later, at night, Yuu made her move. Packing only a few necessities, Yuu opened her window to find her fairy friends around her. 

"Do you have everything you need?" Ortho asked as he floated to Yuu's window. 

"Yeah, I made sure to" Yuu turned to Ortho, who was wearing a black suit and had a robotic dog beside him. "Ortho? What are you doing here?'

Ortho giggled. "Your friends reached out to me and told me your situation, and I am here to bring you to the Island of Woe." Fira nodded and spoke something that came out like bells. "Fira also wants to come along too."

"Alright, I will let you tag along." Yuu smiled as Fira flew to her shoulder. 

"Now that is settled, let's head out before sunrise." Ortho motioned to the robot dog. "Yuu, you will ride Cerberus 1 while I fly us out. I'll make sure to use my magic to cover our tracks."

Yuu nodded and took one last look at her room. That room was full of memories since her childhood. The walls had seen Yuu grow with her mother and late father, cry over strict lessons, and talk to her fairy friends about Idia. Yuu felt a heavy sensation in her chest and turned to Ortho. 

"What about my mom? She would know I went to you to the Island."

"My parents and my grandmother will vouch for us. Don't worry; we will ensure you get the freedom you deserve."

Yuu nodded and hopped on Cerberus. "So long, Mother."

"Psst. Big Brother. Wake up."

Idia groaned and turned away from Ortho. "Five more minutes."

"You have to wake up! I have a surprise for you."

"Can't it wait?"

A female voice laughed, causing Idia to wake up instantly. "You want me to wait?" 

Idia threw his blanket off and sat up. Yuu's amused face filled his vision, causing Idia to blush at his embarrassing predicament. "Yuu? When did you come here?"

Yuu laughed. "An hour ago. Ortho gave me a tour of this place and led me here. Thank goodness he was with me, or I would have been lost. I must get used to this place if I plan to stay here long."

"What do you mean?"

"My mother wanted me to marry Alcides since I uhh," she turned to Ortho. "Can you step outside while I explain the next part to your brother?" 

 Ortho smiled, and Idia noticed something in his eyes like his brother kept secret. "Alright. I will show Fira around some more." Said fire fairy magically appeared and followed Ortho out the door. 

Yuu took a deep breath now that she was alone. "My mother told me about the arranged marriage because I-" She looked into Idia's eyes. "Said that I was in love with you."

Idia.exe froze. His body stiffened, his heartbeat increased, and his hair turned pink. "W-WHAT? Are you sure?"

Yuu nodded. "Yes, I am sure." She sat down next to Idia. "You have been my friend for a long time, Idia; even after you shut yourself out, we connected like nothing happened. I want to be by your side doing more than hiding out in a forest. Of course, if you will allow me."

Idia felt as if he was going to burst. "But what about that Alcides guy?"

"I don't know him, but I know you more. My mother could throw many guys at me to marry, but it would not sway anything. I would still choose you." Yuu said, intertwining one of her hands with Idia's.

Idia felt elated despite the very obvious blush on his face. Luckily, Yuu ignored it and rested her head on his shoulder. "That was the cheesiest thing I have ever heard." Idia laughed and squeezed Yuu's hand.

Yuu squeezed back in response, and a smile graced her face. "Yes, but you never said you didn't like it."

"I don't."

Not an art post but I did want to take the time to mention some things regarding my personal concepts of "Yuu". Each of them are technically OC's just taking their place in the story which is why I put "Twst au" in the hashtags, but I want to allow anyone who enjoys them and the art I make of them to interpret what they'd like into my characters since all I give them are designs and small bits of personality as I'm not that creative with names lol. (Eyeless -Yuu however is a character I've taken more time to develop besides a name btw since I want to allow anyone to name my characters what they'd like so they're interactive with you all.)

Most of the previous "Yuu"s I made, mainly "Gacha-Yuu" (I'll talk more about in a bit) and I guess normal "Yuu" who was supposed to be in-game Yuu but just have their face hidden are scrapped characters. It's not that I don't want to make them anymore I really do but those concept's were pretty old and very confusing to understand (mainly "Gacha-Yuu") that I felt like I'd have to start from scratch or just fill in some blanks of their character.

So regarding "Gacha-Yuu" I have chosen to slowly involve them more in my art posts but I have come to two options for their character. (Normal "Yuu" however is just in-game "Yuu" so I'm leaving them alone and not really involving them much anymore.)

Option 1 :

"Gacha-Yuu"'s appearance will be based off gacha stories like "The hated child being the secret long lost hybrid princess/prince of the Queen/King" . This mainly because I personally think it'd be funny for the characters to question their appearance a little and then "Gacha-Yuu" just responding "Oh well my parents are both a king and queen and my mother/father have half (insert animal/creature) blood in them while my mother/father is a human so I take on both of their traits :) ." But it probably wouldn't matter what animal/creature blood they have since they look like those hybrid wolf (alpha 🐺) and bird wings with a human appearance.

I'll go deeper into the character if this option is chosen but for now that's all I'll be giving out .

Option 2 :

(This one needs a deeper explanation since I feel like it wouldn't make sense like "Gacha-Yuu".)

I remake "Gacha-Yuu" and turn them into "Musical-Yuu". They'd be based on many characters and concepts that have to do with music such as The Dazzlings (MLP), Sirens, High School Musical, Velvet and Vinner. "Musical-Yuu" would have the ability or "magic" to force others to join them in a song in an intense situation or just by their emotions.

Everyone is able to hear the beat of music starting and they're forced to join (power of friendship and songs pretty much) since like a Siren "Musical-Yuu" lures them into the song they can't get out of till it's over and once it is they regain control of their body. "Musical-Yuu" feeds off the situation around them no matter what it is that it'd be turned into a musical situation. The characters would probably attempt to get along around them since they really wouldn't want to get forced into a musical moment but it won't matter since it happens anyway (Idia wouldn't be able to prevent it by hiding in his room either). NRC turns into High School Musical everyday when "Musical-Yuu" shows up in summary.

I honestly wanna ask so much, like about the sirens of your world in general, Scar & BigB's backstory, if there's a reason the current name is sweethearts siren au, are Jimmy & Grian like on a vacation or have moved here permanently, how you plan to share/tell the story... I didn't want to seem overwhelming or weird tho so I've been trying to figure out just about all day, which question I should ask first and how I should word it. I still haven't quite decided (tho I was leaning towards asking more about the sirens) but that's because I didn't want to step on your toes if you were already planning out some posts.(which is why I said whenever you're ready to share) And I hope admitting this doesn't make me seem weird or overly excited... I just want to be honest tbh lol.

anon i love you sooooo much thank you for asking so many lovely things about my au :D Please never be worried about being too enthusiastic or asking too many questions, this is genuinely so fun for me and I love being able to talk about and think about this au in depth (under cut since there is a lot!!)

Ok so you wanted to know more about sirens? I have 600 words of worldbuilding on this so I'll try to condense it a little? Sirens are pretty neat, again I did kind of remake them as a species to better fit this au but a lot of the basics still stand. They aren't strictly romantic seduction, and leans more heavily into just really strong compulsion of any variety, though that still is a thing (i just don't plan on implementing it much). The specific aspect of luring people to their death also isn't a strict necessity, but definitely still common (and I do want to incorporate this into the au). Sirens can have any fishtail, but it does matter on their location/habitat. Scar's a lionfish, and I haven't quite decided on B yet but it's going to probably be a blue one. Either type of ear (the pointed ones or the webbed ones) are pretty much random, but both have scales on the face. The main thing that distincts sirens from any other merfolk (in terms of physical appearance) are the hands, much more clawed and very scaley. I liked the idea of jewlery being very ingrained and important in siren culture, so that's why you'll see a lot of necklaces and earrings andstuff on both my Scar and B designs (though noticeably a lot more on B, no real reason for that quite yet). Sirens also have much longer lifespans than humans, and thus it's a bit hard for some to understand the idea of mortality when it comes to the killing aspect. Still, some sirens don't like the general idea of control and/or murder and choose to live as regular merfolk, but that's really tough to do as sirens aren't trusted by pretty much anyone who isn't a siren. Their voices don't work on other sirens but do work all other animals, though it does still impact relationships amongst sirens (as can be seen in B and Scar). Siren voices are pretty cool! They develop throughout childhood, starting with none (using the term 'voice' to refer to their ability to control btw, probably should have established that sooner) and slowly turning small persuasions into full control. Not super well documented in-universe due to nobody but sirens hanging out with them, especially in youth. Practice is also necessary to get 'good' at using one's voice. As in, those who use it frequently can fade into it near seamlessly without letting on that they're using it until it's in full effect and can easily start using it most of the time. For those who aren't as accustomed to it (either from deliberate lack of use or inexperience in general), using the voice can be much more noticeable, with a very noticeable shift in tone and volume. It's also much more difficult to start, requiring a lot more concentration and effort. Much like learning to use a new muscle, i'd imagine. Moments of stress, high pressure, or other extreme emotions or factors hinder both skill levels, and can even be worse on those with experience as it might be their only way out of a very tense situation. That's most of my siren worldbuilding? As time goes on and this hopefully expands more there will probably be a lot more to add.

The reason for sweethearts siren au is simply because that's my personal duo name for Grian and B (It's really cute I think, with 'sweet' coming from grain/breads and b's affinity with cookies, and hearts coming from the heart Grian built in double life and their general connection to the life series. And because it sounds adorable and they are sweethearts, /p or /r) and they're kind of the 'main duo' as far as I've thought? As in, I have the most complex interactions and dynamics that i've laid out for them thus far and they're the most developed so far. Also, I don't have a duo name that I like/know for any of the other characters and especially not specifically these 4, and i'm not clever enough to come up with one just yet. So, sweethearts siren AU for the time being. Grian and Jim are here as fishmongers just to make a living, pretty much? This au was created around when I first got *super* into stardew and especially the fishing mechanism (I maxxed out the fishing skill while at 0 for pretty much everything else), so I really wanted to just put some of my favorite guys into a fish situation. Aged pretty well, I'd say, with Grian's recent obsession with fishing. But yeah, just fishermen and/or small farmers on the side (the stardew leaking into this again) trying to make a living in a coastal area until they discover The Sirens. I will say, the one thing that I do have down very solidly is Grian and Jim's absolute oblivion to the presence of sirens at this specific ocean/town, and Jimmy being the first one to interact directly with them (specifically, Scar). I don't really feel like doing the whole skeptic-of-the-supernatural-until-its-glaringly-obvious thing, but I might add it a little bit in Grian's character if I feel the story needs a bit more to spice it up. I also really love Jimmy and Scar's dynamic, especially how easily Jimmy falls for whatever ploy Scar's doing so I think that would fit perfectly into the siren dynamic. This au's 'story' starts pretty much right when Grian and Jim move, but in terms of chronological order I really don't have much down solidly. I struggle a lot sometimes with telling the story I want to tell and keeping everyone in character, so it's pretty difficult to make sure the siren's use of their voices, *especially* Scar, is realistic and not too drastic. I've been toying with the idea of the big first event being something with Scar putting Jimmy in danger (something like taking him underwater to the depths and malicious use of his voice, potentially) and that forcing B and Grian to make a tentative alliance to get him back, but I don't really think that's too in character of an action for Scar to make so it's very annoying. As far as telling this story goes, probably mostly through exposition-like posts like this, for the most part. I'd love to write some stuff for this au, obviously, and probably will do small things, but that would probably be a much longer project for me that wouldn't get done for ages. Also posting art of it, even if it doesn't have much context or is what builds the context itself. This is part of the reason i'm really glad people are sending asks, since I don't have any plans for posts about this since I don't know what specifically to talk about or what people want to know and also don't want to seem too annoying (?) with excessively posting about this lol. Watcher's Clutch AU - basic info

Soooooo... this is a mcyt X httyd crossover AU! (it's the 3rd of my mcytXhttyd AUs lol, more on those later)

It's vaguely inspired by the fanfics The Orphan's Ballade and The Hermit's Refuge, which are fanfics for the dsmp and hermitcraft fandoms respectively and feature one character adopting all the others. So uh, yeah. The basic idea is from those, go check them out they're fun to read.

In this AU, it's mostly about the Watchers/Listeners (and a few others), as they get adopted by a stray Watcher who is the protector of children. It all starts when a kid winds up on her doorstep at night, covered in blood (some of it not his own), and begging to be killed. That night, the Watcher takes him in, and slowly starts to draw more kids into the mix.

Under the cut is the details about who are the stray children adopted, and what dragon hybrid they are! I won't go into backstory details because I actually want to write this soon. With in two months at least. Maybe. Don't hold me to it.

Grian - sentinel If you don't know what sentinel dragons are, you probably won't understand why this works so well. It's because sentinels in httyd exist to watch over a dragon graveyard. What better dragon for Grian? On top of that, this adds an interesting idea, because sentinels are blind. So hybrids would probably be born with vision problems or develop them during childhood. So the idea that Grian, even as a teenager, still has relatively good eyesight despite being a species that would've lost it at that point is rather interesting!

Etho - whispering death/sand wraith Weirdly fucked up mouth. That's my main reasoning. Try to put a whispering death mouth on a human. It would looked really fucked up. Idk I almost went with changewing but figured whispering death was a better choice for a hybrid. No I will not explain why he's a hybrid of two dragons <3

Exion (Evil Xisuma) - night fury This one will make zero sense unless you've read my helsmit headcanons post so I'll sum up why I chose this: I headcanon Ex and X to be two of the last voidwalkers, similar to night furies in httyd. Main reasoning tbh.

Helsknight - singetail Arson chameleon.

Skizz - triple stryke Skizz gets the cool scorpion dragon. Also because the only triple stryke we see in canon gives off 3rd Life!Skizz vibes. No I will not explain Sluther could be Skizz and nothing would change.

Chicken - thornridge This one will also not make sense unless you've read the helsmit heacanons post (also included in this category are Echo, 13, Adubs & Grain) But basically Chicken is one of the most peaceful helsmits, and I though he'd fit a thornridge!

Adubs - prickleboggle Funky dragon that casts healing fireballs. Idk I just wanted something vaguely plant themed for this guy.

Grain - dramillion Parrot dragon parrot dragon parrot dragon- Basically the dramillion can mimic any blast it sees, and I thought that it would be cool if hybrids could also mimic voices!

BigB - speed stinger Don't blink or he will zip past you can suddenly you can't move. I like the raptor dragons alright :) He could also be a dreadstrider, which is a hybrid between a speed stinger and a flightmare, but I like basic speed stinger for now!

Echoslab - egg biter Honestly it is simply the vibes

Martyn - slithersong Listen, this dragon lures it prey in by singing. And Martyn is widely regarded as a Listener in headcanons. It's perfect.

Jimmy - razorwhip A) Jimmy is a toy would work great with the dragon that looks like it's made of metal B) Jimmy can have poisonous tears and breath for fun :)

Scott - snow wraith I am channeling Empires season 1 for this. Es1!Scott is so snow wraith coded.

Bad - flightmare Idk he's Scar's counterpart and sibling. Don't know what else you need

Xornoth - deathgripper Xornoth is so deathgripper coded. I am correct about this btw. I'm thinking Exor is like Grimmel and basically drugged deathgripper hybrids to use for his own purposes, and Xornoth is one of the few who escaped!

13 - sword stealer Metal dragons that steals stuff and looks scary :)

Joel - small shadow Small shadows are the wolves of the dragon world alright. Also I think it'd be cool of Joel just goes missing for days at a time and nobody's really worried because he can fight when he needs to, and the entire time he's building a small shadow pack!

Ren - scuttleclaw Again, vibes. Scuttleclaw's have dog vibes and it is Rendog.

Anyways, those are the main children, with others appearing in cameos or backgrounds. Pearl, Joe, and Keralis have all been excluded from this group despite being Watchers (in my headcanons at least), due to possibly having different roles in this AU.

If you mean if Cydon and his husband would hug present Baxter if they meet him again, yes yes they would. Tho since Cydon’s husband is dead, he’d only do it spiritually rn lol. His husband is named Timothy, btw, for those curious. (Yes, Timothy from the 2012 series) Tho Baxter would very much protest at this development, considering he and the turtles are still enemies at this point. Tho, after the whole Shredder incident and Big Mama taking New York hostage they had a truce since Baxter couldn’t deny the turtles had saved everyone even if they were also the reason the whole thing happened in the first place. The whole reason Cydon adopted Baxter in the first place was bc Baxter’s parents died in the initial invasion and Cydon kinda… saw it happen.

Shelldon and Metalhead are true Artificial Intelligence, so they’re very much sentient/sapient creatures that can think and feel for themselves. They did not get organic bodies, if that’s what you’re wondering. Tho, at their request Donnie did give them the ability to process organic matter and scrap metal for fuel.

There is going to be a sequel following the aftermath and the little Hamato’s slowly discovering the family the older versions of themselves lost, as in they meet their timelines versions over time. The ones that haven’t been born yet will also be found again, though that’ll take years… good thing this is a fic and not real life ;] (There might also be a prequel of the og kids, tho I’ll have to hold a poll for that once JTOEL is finished)

papa saltarian headcanons.

(for context on this au, see this post. btw i'm gonna be using the tag "papa saltarian au" for posts about this lol.)

1. dynamic with the nameless ghouls

starting off, i don't think the ghouls would change, so i'm going into this headcanon with the era 4 ghouls in mind.

since saltarian isn't even vaguely related to the emeritus bloodline, he has some trouble trusting the ghouls, since they're not intrinsically tied to his presence and could leave or betray him at any time. this is why i feel like at first, he'd be a lot more formal with the ghouls than the other papas, not really interacting with them on stage, overall coming off as cold and distant. so the ghouls start to pull away a little, losing a lot of their stage antics and routines, and instead just stay at their respective spaces on the stage.

but suddenly, saltarian starts to warm up to them. no one can really figure out what changed his attitude (a lot of things contributed, but really, it was seeing swiss fall off the stage and still continue playing that sparked sudden respect for the ghouls in saltarian).

since then, a new dynamic has been developing between him and the ghouls: it starts out as saltarian making sure they're okay if something seems off with a specific ghoul.

then, slowly, they start developing their own routines:

during cirrus' keytar solo in mummy dust, saltarian starts gesturing for the crowd to cheer her on more.

for the backing vocals in moac, him and swiss do this thing where they hold each others' mics to each others' mouths, so the song pretty much becomes their duet.

sometimes aether sneaks up behind him and pretends to bite him in the neck. at first he just reluctantly let it happen, but eventually he started actively playing along with it ('because the fans love it' he reasoned to himself), stretching his neck out and rolling his eyes back dramatically, as if fainting.

2. stage presence

we've seen how being papa affects someone's personality. i mean, it transformed awkward shy little cardinal copia into papa emeritus iv.

but saltarian is a very serious man. so serious, in fact, that sister imperator eventually has to tell him that people just respond better to the natural flamboyance and energy of the emeritus bloodline compared to his excessive professionalism. luckily, he takes the hint.

his performances finally start developing into a new kind of show. his body language becomes much more dramatic, though unlike our dear copia, saltarian goes out of his way to move slowly on stage, as if trying to make every step resonate with the audience.

alright, now for some of his solo stage antics and routines:

saltarian's really good at addressing his audience, making them feel like every song is a direct message to them and them only. this obviously comes out the most when he's ciriceing someone.

once he gets fully comfortable with the audience, he starts talking in between songs. just little comments, thanking everyone for being there to hear the dark lord's message, that sort of stuff.

but at some point, after every performance of a seven inches of satanic panic song, he suddenly starts casually telling stories from era 0 of ghost. nobody really knows why he does it (they're convinced it's either just to embarrass nihil and imperator, or because he's genuinely reminicing about the good old days), but hey, free lore, am i right?-

remember what i said about him moving really slowly on stage on purpose? yea well sometimes he'll also make one or two really fast, sudden movements, just to try and stratle the audience.

3. costume??

papa saltarian probably wouldn't have proper papal make-up, since he's only acting as papa until the actual papa v is found, but i still think he'd wear a decent amount of eye-liner, if just to make his facial expressions more noticeable. also wears ghross (ghost cross) earrings, just because the symbol makes for some sickass earrings in my opinion.

now, for his actual outfit, well- currently i'm thinking he'd wear something relatively plain, but fancy. maybe like an almost gothic version of his regular black suit with some extra silk, maybe leather.

4. the music

all i'm gonna say is.

so!! to explain dasha's, i gotta explain this au a bit before i dive into it.

even though a lot is similiar to mm in this au, the incubators dont work alone. they work with the facility!:3 the facility studies how much despair a witch can produce, how much despair a magical girl can endure, how strong a magical girl can be, what the limits are of what you can and can't wish for (even though the incubators say 'anything', the facility isnt That trusting of them. for obvious reasons, such as, incubators withhold so much information. and then use the excuse that you just didn't ask. so !! though they work together, they don't rlly, trust them 100%.), etc !! temnova is the leading head of this experiment. soo . as you might suspect from 'like a dog', and all the "how old is temnova?" "wouldnt you like to know:)" things, temnovas a mutant in canon - most likely anyways lol. so, in this au, shes a magical girl, too:) she doesnt fight witches tho, just studies them. she herself was very fascinated with kyubey and the concept of magical girls, so, she wished (like 50 years ago btw) for something along the lines of "i want to be alive as long as my soul gem is intact" . she has a higher resistance to despair, and, she ages Very slowly! kyubey approached her when she was like 15, and during these 50 years shes aged like, less than a decade. when she got into her twenties she demanded kyubey stop aging her, for if he keeps doing that, she will become Old and Fragile in no time. so. she ages slowly! and all that shit. or something.

the facility also like. it doesnt kidnap magical girls. not rlly ❤️tries to contain the witches though (with varying degrees of success)

now. about dasha. my girl dasha !!! shes been a magical since she was like, a child, seven years old or smth. temnova was always curious about what would happen if a magical girl made her wish at a young age - how long she could go until she turned into a witch, how much power her wish could hold, how her despair would look n such... dasha most likely isn't her first 'experiment' like this. dasha didn't make her own wish. temnova told her to wish "I want to be able to locate other magical girls", so she did. when dasha grows older, she starts recruiting magical girls. as in, once shes old enough, convincing enough, she starts finding MMs and telling them "Hi i have a group of magical girl friends back at home. do you wanna fight with us" . and youre lying. youre fucking lying if you say that any magical girl wouldnt go "what the hell this is a child. what the hell. why is she fighting witches. what the fuck kyubey" and follow her, to the facility. the scientists ask her questions, "what did you wish for?" "how long have you been a magical girl?" "what's your weapon?" "can you fight a witch for us?" "can you describe some of the witches you've fought?" nothing too drastic - can't have her telling the other magical girls about them - all under the guise of being dashas family, studying magical girls, keeping statistics, just curiousity. but magical girls arent stupid. some Would try to trust them. maybe temnova does these interviews, since shes a magical girl herself. or Something i dont have this that developed. im making some of this up as i go lol

katya!! katya lives with nadya in this au. (under the theory that nikita and nadya are her parents, which is, practically canon to me - nikita still bailed) her twin sister, which she has in the canon human au that ferry sometimes talks about, doesnt exist. why? ❤️because. im silly like that.

one day she meets yulya (fem!yura :3 get GIRLED), and the two become friends! sorta. katya hears yulya being self depricating n shit and decides "ok thats gonna be my big sister figure now:)" mm. about yulya. to explain things a bit: stalkers still exist in this. theyre not as illegal, but theyre not really legal either ! no law about them. they work for the facility - non magical girls that venture into witch's labyrinth, retrieving curses, scouting the labyrinth out, taking back 'artifacts', etc etc... yulya wants to be one ! for funsies, maybe. idk. she knows about magical girls because of sergei (unsure if ill girl him or not) !! she still tutors sanya, and, bc of sergeis stalker profession, shes heard a bit about labyrinths and such. thinks it could be interesting. or whatever. who knwos ... so !! she wants to be a stalker. katya doesnt know magical girls exist, theyre like, cryptids to her still. like the tooth fairy.

one day, the duo (maybe trio .. sanyas there, maybe), one way or another, they get stuck in a witchs labyrinth. they get cornered by curses, or the witch herself. no magical girl in sight. kyubey appears, explains the deal (not rlly, though. mostly "make a wish!! and youll be ok!!") and . yulya . she cannot bring herself to do it. she knows that the magical girls turn into witches, always eventually, from sergei. and she cant bring herself to do it. she loves katya like a sister, she doesnt want her to seal the contract either - but, she cant. do it. she freezes. katya doesnt know who the witches rlly are, though. so. in a fit of panic and desperation, she wishes something along the lines of "i just want my friends and i to be happy!!" or something. n. to her, this is magic! she gets a magical girl transformation! she gets a cute outfit, she gets a way to protect yulya!! she survives!! shes happy!! but to yulya. this is fucked up messed up shit and fuck. katya has already died, to her. "it was always going to end this way, shes been dead since the beginning" n shit. so she cant fucking. bear to be happy. but she cant tell katya the truth either!! shed witch out!! so shes. stuck. katya too.

katyas weapons are balloons that she can make, like animal balloons, that explode! so. she makes a silly dog balloon and throws it at the witch! and thats how she deals damage:) maybe shes got juggling balls idk !

she doesnt rlly make it out the story in one piece lol. she learns the truth about magical girls one day. and ummm . she cant really handle it. she doesnt explode right away. tries to be positive, like, "oh i can. do htis. i can handle this" . she tries . but she fails . she cant bear to fight a witch again. and succumbs

neleppy p'yerro is her witch name. the laughable witch. pathetic. tries to keep her audience, people in her labyrinth, happy, joyful. isnt outright violent, but. shes still a witch. she doesnt mean to harm you. she only wants to make you happy, to prevent you from reaching the fate that she did. doesnt want you to be sad, succumb and witch out. but she doesnt know how.

Hello! *Is* Clyde fully neurotypical? Because totally cool if so, but I was relating pretty hard to him specifically because of some autistic traits we share!

My mum used to say I was a super quiet baby but always really "curious" - I was always looking around at everything, apparently (I think many babies do this, but she insists it was more than usual with me and she has had a total of two babies so I guess she had at least one point of comparison) which is an immediate similarity with Clyde - and once I got to school I was ALWAYS "a pleasure to have in class". Never any trouble, very quiet, and very, very good at following the rules, absolute teachers' pet (heh, pet, lol). Clyde *seems* to get less social anxiety than me *outwardly* when he's with Mason, but having a very rigid role as a pet probably... helped with that in some ways. I would slowly die of misery if I couldn't feed my curiousity (often called special interests by the autistic community, which is the correct term, but for me in particular they definitely present in an "I want to learn more about this thing and pick it all apart and then, then, THEN, be really, really good at it" way, hence: "curiosity"), but having rigid rules and mealtimes and bedtime, being... babied... a bit, the only thing expected of me being to be able to sit quietly and look pretty when I'm around other people... I get social anxiety and choice paralysis super badly. Not having to interact with people like a "normal person" or make any decisions ever... It would be evil, and awful, but it would be *easy*. Easier for me than an actual neurotypical, I think. I'm really really, REALLY good at following instructions, sitting quietly, etc. Unhealthily good, because it isn't actually a good idea to live like that all the time.

So I relate both to the ways Clyde is a "good pet" and the things that make being a pet ultimately stifling and unbearable for him, and in both cases it's due to traits I associate with my own autism.

As for Clyde, I can absolutely see all those connections.... I didn't specifically go out writing him to be autistic, but i've had characters develop on their own before lol. More than likely he wouldn't have any sort of diagnosis or any attention on it before he was freed because - pet.

When I first wrote Clyde, I wanted to write a more quiet reserved whumpee. Most often pet whumpees are just like Brody and Rudy. Fun and energetic and the appeal is immediate. I liked the idea of Clyde watching and studying everything around him. I also loved the idea of the Owner being like 'ha yeah nothing between those ears just floof" and the pet is like, mentally going through the steps to dismantle a toaster. or in clyde's case has memorized the cars and schedules of everyone in the neighborhood and knows who is having an affair and who is an alcoholic and whose kids just joined the school sports team.

In my mind Clyde is not very anxious. More like, detached? In the sense that for his entire life, things have happened around him and about him, but for the most part they don't ask for his input. So he just watches. Then, freed, he's often the most well connected and - for a lack of better - powerful person in the room so he doesn't much care what other people are thinking of him.

It would be evil, and awful, but it would be *easy*. Easier for me than an actual neurotypical, I think. I'm really really, REALLY good at following instructions, sitting quietly, etc. Unhealthily good, because it isn't actually a good idea to live like that all the time.

This sounds like a truly fascinating start to a conversation, however i'm likely not the best to have it. I would love to listen to it though.

But when it comes to following instructions and such, Clyde's role in the Pet Shows Mason does is the Technical Competition, which is 100% about obedience and being precise in following directions. He is absolutely model pet in that sense.

I really love this, because I know that I write pet whump and draw from my religious trauma. It's so cool to me that you can read my same little words about my boys and draw something else out. That genuinely makes me feel really, really good.

I have definitely stumbled into making some of my characters, but I hope I haven't accidently autistic-coded Clyde this whole time. I really like it though. I'll probably ask for some sensitivity readers or some betas and such to help me bounce ideas off for him.

i know theres a lot of tim/jay stuff in fandom and even occasionally in canon but i feel like it always ignores how much they honest 2 god HATE eachother lmfao. i think if done well they’d make such a compelling team/dynamic but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

like, jasons main thing with tim originally is that feeling that he was unfairly replaced. damian being given robin (even tho tbf dick was in the right lol) wouldve felt similar to tim. its an engaging baseline for the beginnings of at the very least a mutual respect/understanding… i also feel like tim being the only one so fervently refusing to believe bruce is dead would resonate with jay, who, yknow, died and came back to life. tim isolating himself from his friends and family during his RR run could lend well to jason already being an outcast. plus theyve both got weird Al Ghul connections going on.

theres just a lot of shared emotional foundations there. we all seem to agree theyve got the perfect melting pot for enemies to friends but the enemies part is too often overlooked. like he beat tim up so bad during bftc he thought he was dead and left him there lol. i think they could still have an engaging friendship in spite of it (even because of it) but its never executed the way that scratches my brain jus right :,(

Is there liiiiike a storyline for moth Taylor? All I've really seen about that au is What The Fuck He Gets So Moth and that it Sucks so I am cuoriouose about it

OK this is probably gonna be another long one though it's much less serious lol ^^;

so this au began bc it was just a cutesy thing to look at and byona loves drawing characters as cute bug people btw etc etc. so the story around the "onset" is a little weak. but here's how everything developed in my head:

One Day (inciting incident tbd) taylor started feeling ill and wrapped himself in a comforter cocoon and more or less went comatose for like a week (rel, his roommate, thought nothing of this) and when he popped out he had little baby hawk moth wings and antennae and a higher than average amount of pale green fuzz.

obviously he was terrified and had no idea why this occurred. he confided in rel and sly but if anyone else knew he was sure that the government would snap him up to be imprisoned and experimented on for his whole life, so he avoided being in public and always put on heavy hats and coats when he had to.

as with all these "oc become a cute animal person" aus there's like a week where they all just dick around and have fun finding out about the funy animal features, like the attraction to lamps, addiction to honey and sweet nectars, vibrating in the night etc. he also gets a very small amount of future-vision on account of mothman reference, but not for anything hugely important, like knowing when an object is going to fall, when a car is coming, where satellites are in the night sky etc.

then the fun and games come to a stop when they suddenly realize he's shrinking. panic ensues as they realize the transformation is still ongoing, albeit at a slower rate. there's a middle part of the story here where idk what really happens but they go around investigating trying to find out why this happened and how to stop it.

at some point doc, laa, and mod are let in on the secret. taylor's heightened mothman Insight actually lets him see laa's zombie features for the first time (send another ask if u don't know about the "laa's screw & stitches are invisible" gag/plotpoint). mod offers to amputate taylor's unwanted parts (he covets unusual body parts) and taylor is seriously tempted but eventually dissuaded by sly.

taylor finally figures out that this transformation was triggered by the activation of dna that was implanted in him when he was a child and he was visited by a kaleidoskull (mine) that he thought was an alien (it is, just a bit More). again somehow through Plotpoints Yet To Be Determined he finds it and is able to enter two-way communication with it on some kind of a Plane.

he tries to convince them (begs really) to reverse the effects, remove the dna and turn him back into a regular human. unfortunately it turns out they did that to him because they thought it was really funny and clever, and they are still finding it really entertaining for him to slowly turn into an entire hawk moth and die in like a week. taylor tries to change their mind using logic and moral arguments, but fails desperately because they don't have the same moral values as humans whatsoever.

luckily for him, sly came along, and, fueled by rage and desperation to save his partner's life, and surprising everyone present, drew a fucking handgun on the thing. taylor was shocked and quite upset, but the kaleidoskull immediately burst into laughter. they were not at all threatened, but found the idea of being threatened with a gun by a human so absolutely fucking hysterical that they had no choice but to reward them with one wish and acquiesced to their demands.

and so taylor was saved and restored to his original body! thus ends the moth boy arc. and just to be clear, my kaleidoskull isn't evil, they just have highly alien morals and are mostly motivated by what they find funny, entertaining, or delightful, which is sometimes good and sometimes bad for humans. they probably don't see death as a bad thing because they know what lies beyond, or maybe we're just like bugs or pets to them, who knows.

Since I accidentally deleted an ask while editing this post like a dumbass, this one is for the anon who asked me about my thoughts on a RWBY AU where Raven took Yang with her to live with the bandits. Here’s hoping you see it! 🤞

Btw don’t expect any in depth paragraphs or analysis. I started trying that and it just sounded stilted. I ain’t a good writer. sadge

Raven ditches Taiyang the moment she learns she’s pregnant, possibly due to a mixture of not wanting to be tied down and being loyal to her clan first and foremost.

She fully planned to dump the kid at the orphanage, but the moment she held the crying baby in her arm, she just lets out a quite, “…Fuck, I’m emotionally attached now.” Maternal instincts have magically developed in this universe!

Raven could continue the Branwen tradition of bird names, specifically yellow one for Yang ie Oriole, Vireo, or Tana(ger). She could also opt to retain the original name out of some sentimentality towards Taiyang but she will never admit it. For convenience’s sake I’ll stick with calling Yang as, well, Yang. Plus I can’t be bothered to think of an alternative acronym for RWBY lol.

Just because Raven developed some level of care towards her child DOES NOT mean she’s mother of the year. She’s spent most of her life fighting Grimm and humans she doesn’t know a thing about child rearing beyond giving them nourishment. And does she seem like the type to baby talk? She’s dumping Yang onto her goons. Insert the three stooges taking care of a baby here.

Raven would slowly get more involved with Yang after she learns to properly talk and becomes fully invested once she’s old enough to be trained. She’s also instills her own philosophy onto her daughter. Hypocritically, she still expects Yang to follow her orders without question.

Yang sees this as totally normal since it’s not like she knows any other kids she could compare her home life with. A family can be one single female chieftain and her band of nefarious criminals. Yang would respect Raven but feel more attached to her caregivers/tribe. This changes once she enter her rebellious teenage phase. Hormones be wild, yo.

While Raven tries to groom Yang into a potential leader, the latter wants nothing to do with it. She figures that she wouldn’t be a leader so much as a mouthpiece for Raven. It’s not like Raven would go to a retirement home after she steps down. She’d stay with the Branwen tribe until the day she dies. Even if she gave Yang full reins on the decision making, she’d almost certainly make snide remarks about Yang being inefficient.

One night Raven comes back from patrol to see a bunch of her men panicking. Yang has gone missing! Or left rather. Raven tries not to show her worry. Yang won’t get far before she comes back with her tail between her legs.

Yang DOES in fact go far. Far enough to reach Beacon Academy. Now she can finally make her own decisions like a big girl!

So yeah, she still joins RWBY but with some small changes in her relationship in regards to her teammates. They all eventually learn to trust and be more open with each other, but Yang’s relationship with them is…rocky.

Without an older sister to watch and encourage her, Ruby has become much more shy and uncertain while dealing in social situations but is also much less reckless in fighting. Yang can’t help but admire how such a young kid has the balls to start such a dangerous career. She can’t help but see herself in her leader. I would describe Yang as acting as a loving bully towards Ruby hoping that one day Ruby will take the hint and stand up for herself. But if anyone else picks on her? You’re eating Yang’s boots.

Yang take Weiss at face value. A spoiled, pampered kid who thinks they’re hot shit and who has never struggled to get anything she wants. But since she comes from a rich and influential family…Yang can try to act nice and get on her good graces.

Yang and Blake are just that one picture of two Spidermen pointing at each other. Two young girls with mysterious pasts directly tied to a criminal organization? What are the odds? Blake does come out regarding her past after being outed as a Faunus but Yang would still hesitate on revealing her previous lifestyle. Surely there must be some ulterior motive to explain why Ruby and Weiss allow an ex terrorist to stay in the group. Only an idiot would do such a thing…right? Yang is torn between seeing Blake a a kindred spirit or a potential spy.

The same story beats happen as in canon. Yang eventually open up to her teammates and briefly thinks that maybe Raven was talking out of her ass in regards to trusting people…making her take Blake’s abandonment even worse.

After the fall of Beacon Yang either becomes the unquestioning if embittered second in command of the Branwen tribe…or sticks to the original script and reunites with RWBY.
