You turn off the heater as you look one last time over the space. Everything's set away neatly as the falcon sits on oak leaves, its feathers carefully forged from the streaks of your brush. You're proud, you're so close to done and you've always struggled with following through. You'll be sure to tell Steve, you mean, Dr. Kemp at your next session.
Or tomorrow.
You catch yourself smiling at that thought. No, you shouldn't be so happy. He's your therapist. He's helping you. It's his job. But he said he's your friend, didn't he?
You close the garage door behind you and lock it. The TV blasts loudly from the front room and your mood quickly grays. You leave your slip-ons by the door and tiptoe towards the den.
It's empty. Sports commentators sit around a desk talking about stats and numbers you don't understand. Andy isn't there. Only the empty beer bottles across the coffee table.
You go into the kitchen but don't find him there either. Is he upset? Maybe he went to bed.
You turn off the television and shut off the lights before you head upstairs. You pad up slowly, dragging your hand on the railing as you yawn. You'll make it up by cooking breakfast. For now, you just want to sleep. You hope some cuddling can placate him.
As you turn down the hall, you notice his room is open and the lights are off. Yet the door closer to you, the guest room where you used to sleep, is lit up. You near, your chest dropping as you hear the flutter of pages.
You peek around the door frame and your lip trembles. He's not supposed to do that! Dr. Kemp said he can't do that.
You watch Andy as he holds your journal, scowling as he sits on the side of the bed. His shoulders slump unevenly as he curls his lips at the pages. He shakes his head and grumbles as he reads.
"Andy," you step into the doorway, "hey, that's mine."
You stomp towards him, your anger overriding any fear. You grab for the journal as he looks up at you, blue eyes cloudy and brow furrowed. He holds the book out of reach as he stands. You back-up as he towers over you.
"Is this yours too?" He shows the vibrator in his other hand, "hmmm," he slurs slightly as he looks down at the pages again, "'Dr. Kemp gave me a gift. I don't know if I should open it though. I don't know what to do with it…'" he curls a finger around the slender bullet toy and flips through the pages, reading more, "'Today Dr. Kemp taught me how to use the toy and relax. It felt good but it's hard to focus.'" He stops and swallows, "I tried but I couldn't think of Andy. It felt wrong."
He snaps shut your journal and flings it just past you, the force gusting against your side as you flinch. You whimper and back away. He was never meant to see that. Those are your personal thoughts.
"Andy, that's my journal–"
"What? You still don't love me?" He lumbers forward, slightly off kilter, "you'd rather–" he shows the toy and clicks the button, "a piece of plastic!?"
"No, no, it wasn't… it's to help me so… so I know what to do. Dr. Kemp–"
"He gave you this. He gave you this and you didn't tell me," his voice grows louder and louder as you shrink smaller and smaller, "you won't even let me try to make you feel good."
He shakes his head, as if trying to escape some unseen veil. He whips the toy away from him, leaving a dent on the wall as the buzz stops and it bounces onto the floor. You fold your hands against your chest and retreat step by step.
"I'm scared, Andy," you sniffle.
"And I'm hurt," he snarls and lunges for you.
You yipe and beat against his chest as he clutches your arms. He squeezes so tight you cry out. He's so strong you can't resist him. You push on his stomach, trying to wriggle free as he teeters around with you trapped.
"Andy, please, please, I never--I didn't mean anything. I was only… I was trying to be better. Like you want me to. Please, please," you put your hands on his thick arms, the strength cording in his biceps, "don't hurt me. Please. Please, I'll be better, I'll be better."
He stills, keeping his grip above your elbows. His long lashes flick and he scowls down at you, "you think I would hurt you. After everything I've done. You think I would…" his eyes glisten and he turns to grit his jaw at the wall. "You don't love me."
"No, Andy, I love you, I do," you babble. Just say what he wants. That's all you can do, "I do, please…"
"Then why are you so fucking scared?" He turns to you and grabs your chin, bending to look you in the eye. You squirm and grasp his wrist, on your toes as he nearly chokes you. "I've waited… I've been nice…"
He turns with you almost dangling from his hold. Your feet drag on the floor as you stumble. You whine as he walks you back. You're dizzy with his force and the way he moves you so easily.
"Please," you croak.
"You wanna see what a real man is like," he shoves you so you hit the foot of the bed and land on your back, "not some stupid fucking toy."
He puts his hand to the front of his jeans and you gulp. Your heart pounds like thunder, vision flashing like lightning as the storm of horror consumes you. You push yourself up as he fumbles with his zipper.
"Andy, let's go to bed–"
"Shut up," he barks and pushes you back down.
You bite your tongue as you fall heavy again. You push yourself up onto the mattress, dragging yourself backwards away from him. He leaves his jeans open as he advances on you, staggering as he jostles the bed, climbing up on his knees.
He reaches for you and you turn, crawling away frantically, desperate to get to the edge. He grabs your waist and hauls you back, collapsing his weight on you. You writhe, clawing at the covers as they slip down from the bed.
You're stuck pinned beneath him as he breathes into your scalp. He smells like beer and spit. He suffocates you to a panic, the walls closing in and a fiery heat scalding across your flesh.
"And-dy," you whimper as he hooks his arm around your neck, forcing your head up as your arms flail across the bed, "Andy….please…"
"Shhh, baby, it's okay," he nuzzles your crown, "you wanna feel good. I'm gonna make you feel good. Huh?" He tightens his arm so his bicep presses against your throat, "or did you lie about that too?"
"N-no, please, it hurts," you sob.
"It won't hurt if you stop," he bends his arm until you can't breathe, jutting his chin against your skull, "stop fucking moving."
You freeze. His timbre alone is a threat. He puffs, the alcoholic taint curdling in your nose as he brings his other arm between you.
As he keeps his arm under your neck, he forces you to arch your spine, his nails scratching your lower back as he grips the back of your pants. You close your eyes as you quiver. You feel your chest tearing apart, your nerves pinging wildly, your entire being falling to pieces.
Love, love, they all say love before they hurt you.
He rips down the back of your jeans and growls. The force of it jerks your limp body. You try not to think as his hot breath slips down the side of your face.
He rolls the denim down, quickly tugging down your panties and baring your ass. You squeak as your naked flesh rubs against the vee of his open zipper. He pulls his hand away, leaning on one knee as he lifts his pelvis, feeling between your bodies.
He grunts and shifts, further bouncing the bed under you. He plants both knees and snakes his arm beneath you, keeping his other at your throat. He wiggles as he feels along your pelvis, nudging your legs as far apart as they can go against the denim.
He dips his hips down as you feel his tip along the curve of your ass. Your heart drums behind your ears, drowning out his raspy groans as his fingers frame your cunt and part your lips. You clench, bracing the bed as salty tears slip free and stain the blanket beneath.
He catches his tip between his knuckles and jerks. He slides to your entrance and prods, tilting awkwardly until he can line up. He pushes, straining you dryly. He bucks, trying to force his way in and you shriek.
He grunts and tries again, the chafe sparking a fire inside of you. You reach back, grasping the slack fabric of his jeans as you keep your other hand fisted around the blanket. He thrusts again, grinding in another inch as you exclaim.
You babble and bawl as he rocks. You feel his frustration at the resistance of your body. You try to let him in, try not to feel and just let it happen.
As he splits you, burying himself deep, you let out a horrid cry. Your head dangles over his forearm as you sob against the bedding and he puffs into the crook of your neck. He eases back slowly before sinking in again. Your squirming does little to deter him.
His nose tickles your temple and he bows down to kiss your cheek as he begins a tempo. Long, slow, and torturous. Each dip inside is worse than the last.
"Baby, doesn't that feel good? Don't I feel good? Hmm, better than the toy?" He kisses your cheek again, "you feel good on me."
You gulp and choke on the eruption of tears. His groans and growls seep into you, his body rumbling with the delight he takes in your destruction. Your terror fades to disbelief and the well dries up, leaving you silent and staring.
"Tell me, honey, tell me I feel good. Tell me it's better." His hand creeps up to grope your chest as he pumps into you.
You shudder and turn your face down. You hide in the darkness of your eyelids. Your body is racked in agony and repulsion.
"Yes…" you utter as his arm loosens around your neck, "yes, it's…" you squeal as he ruts too hard, "good!"
"Mmmm, yeah, baby, this is what you want. You're just too afraid… this is what we need. Both of us…" he sighs as he fucks you into the bed.
He flattens you against the mattress as his pelvis claps against you. He keeps you arched awkwardly as he rams into you over and over. The tension tautens his muscles and he drops his head down to nibble at your ear.
This isn't happening. It isn't happening. It can't be. It can't.
You repeat your denial over and over. Trying to convince yourself that this isn't real. That you can't feel a thing.
You're not in your body. You're somewhere else. You're not there. Even if you are, it won't last forever. It will end and you'll be left to wallow.
Alone. Amber isn't coming to comfort you now.
🕊️
The world is foggy. You stare into nothing, your surroundings nothing more than shadows. You're in a void. You never want to think or feel again.
You won't cry. Not anymore. You have nothing left.
A footstep makes you wince. You can hear… him. You roll onto your side and whimper. You hurt everywhere.
You smell him on the pillow and the blankets. You reek of him. You realise then you're not in the same bed, you're in his.
His voice drones indiscernible outside the room as you hide beneath the duvet. His tone brings you back, him cooing as he carries you down the hall, laying you down, undressing you, touching you all over. Doing that again.
You suck in your lower lip and fight the tide rolling under the surface. He gets closer, you can hear him more clearly even if you try not to. The door opens and his shadow looms against the wall.
"Thanks for checking in. No, she's okay. We went out for breakfast," he explains as you feel his gaze through the layers between you, "something upset her stomach, she's laying down." A pause, the garbled response from the phone speaker, "I'll tell her you say hi. She should be fine in no time. Yep, okay, doc, thanks again."
He sighs as he hangs up. He puts the phone down heavily and nears the bed. You feel it dip by your feet as he climbs up, crawling up your body as he tugs at your only shield. He peels away the duvet, slipping beneath it as he once more smothers you beneath him.
"Mmm, honey," he holds himself over you as he urges you flat on your back, "you're delicious…" he kisses along your shoulders and across your chest, "beautiful, you know that?" He purrs, the tip of his nose sending chills through you, "you're a bad girl, keeping all this from me…" he pinch your nipple with his teeth and you squeak, "will you be a good girl for me, dove?"
You nod frantically. Whatever it takes to make him stop touching you. You'll do whatever he wants if it means he'll leave you alone. Maybe not forever, but eventually.
"Good," he kisses along your stomach, "that's all I ever wanted… to be good to you. To be good for you."
Your muscles tie and you lock your hands in fists. He descends your body inch by inch. You roll your eyes back, drifting into oblivion.
It's not forever. Nothing is.

Basketball Club's Camping Cuddles
Coach Vargas said the tents can hold one or two students, but how about two and (technically) a half student?
NOTE: I only write for female reader, but everyone is welcome to read it!
Poly Relationships between club members (Character/Reader/Character)
Ace is a brat, Floyd is a biter. Jamil is pretty.
Maybe part one of a series? Maybe not?
— (っ˘▽˘)(˘▽˘)˘▽˘ς)
— Jamil/Reader/Floyd
Jamil has no idea how this has become his life (that's a lie, he absolutely knows), but trying to fluff pillows with almost two meters of eel trying to lay on his lap like an extremely oversized dog is not how he imagined his life going... Not that he is complaining. Much. Floyd's loopy smiles and soft bites to his waist are very endearing.
"Aww, look at you two~"
And here comes the third member of their odd trio, the one that somehow managed to bring all of them together. It had been quite the rollercoaster of feelings and misunderstandings, what with Jamil's denial, Floyd's obliviousness and (Y/N)'s stubborness. They all cried at least once during their Relationship Talk™ (™ courtesy of their girlfriend). Grim woke up to the three of them cuddling on the run down couch of Ramshackle Dorm, and Jamil learned the hard way that Floyd running and Floyd flying are practically synonyms when he panicked over being late to make Kalim's breakfast.
And that eels can run very well carrying two people and a cat in their arms.
"Shrimpy~!"
"Not so loud," Jamil whisper-yells, shoving a pillow on Floyd's face, knowing that won't stop his boyfriend anyways. "She's not supposed to be here, remember?"
"If she's not supposed to be here, why you fluffing her pillow, Sea Snake~?" Jamil can't see it, but he knows Floyd has his toothy grin on show. "And the spare blanket in your bag-"
"Aww, Jamil" (Y/N) coos, closing the tent behind her and kneeling near them. She leans forwards and he gladly takes the greeting kiss offered. "It's a good thing Vargas made me and Grim sleep on a tent outside, it's easier to sneak out."
"You could've been in danger, though," he watches as his girlfriend takes the pillow from his hands and places it down, kissing Floyd softly, the eel giggling in happiness.
"Considering I'm under Crowley's 'care', danger has become an old friend."
"I'll gladly squeeze him for ya, Shrimpy!"
"Maybe in the future. Right now, I just wanna cuddle with my boys."
Thankfully, the eel doesn't feel like being a brat tonight, so other than demanding goodnight kisses from both of them, he goes to bed willingly. Floyd's kisses are always electric, alluring, dangerous, and funnily enough, the viper is the one attracted to that sweet poison. (Y/N)'s kisses are gentler, kinder, firmer, ensuring him that everything is alright and he is safe.
"Where did you leave Grim?" he asks, because he knows best than anyone what she would never leave her furry companion to face any danger.
"I left Grim with Ace, to help him stay awake and keep his mouth shut."
Floyd giggles again, pulling her down to lay where their makeshift beds meet, her back pressed against his chest. Jamil takes his place on the other side of their girlfriend, covering them with the blankets to stop the chilly mountain air to get to them. His face finds the crook of her neck, her and Floyd's arms find his waist.
Glued together, they sleep.
— (っ˘▽˘)(˘▽˘)˘▽˘ς)
— Jamil/Reader/Ace
"You are the most infuriating person I've ever had the displeasure of meeting and I have to teach Kalim basic decency every single day."
"You wanna kiss me so bad, it makes you look stupid~"
Ace laughs when Jamil groans, enjoying the annoyed but still helplessly endeared expression on his pretty face. Seven, Jamil is so pretty, it's unfair. If Ace were a little less confident (cocky, Jamil would correct him if he could read minds), Ace would be wondering how the hell did he score someone like that.
But, then again, Ace managed to score (Y/N) too, and the Housewarden of Ramshackle is the biggest catch in the whole school.
Speaking of her.
"Floyd is having so much fun scaring the fairies, I feel a little bad for them."
"The more entertained he is, the less headache for us," Jamil promptly answers, offering her one of his rare soft smiles.
He unfairly gets the first greeting kiss, but Ace is always ready to upstage anyone. When she turns to him, he cups her face and kisses her deeply, practically pulling her to his lap. She's blushing cutely when they separate, and the redhead can only pretend he isn't just as red despite being the one to start it.
"We're here to sleep, not make out."
"Again, Jams, if you want a kiss, just kiss me, no need to play tsundere~"
Much to his surprise, the Vice Housewarden does exactly that, grabbing the first year's jacket and tugging him forward until their lips meet.
Jamil's kisses are warm, scalding even, they taste of spice and whispers, they make Ace's heart speed up and his lips tingle. Ace barely has any time to breath before he's being brought to another kiss, this time with their girlfriend. Her kisses are lukewarm, like before bed tea, sweet and fluffy like a dream, making his heart slow in a satisfied hum.
Next thing he knows, they're all cuddling together under the covers, enjoying the closeness they rarely are able to enjoy at school.
— (っ˘▽˘)(˘▽˘)˘▽˘ς)
— Floyd/Reader/Ace
"Don't bite me!"
"But you're soooo soft~"
Floyd giggles when Crabby glares at him, his big eyes and blushing cheeks making him look like a pouting little crab. Makes him want to bite his Crabby even more, and squeeze him real good.
"You guys are biting and no one called me?"
"Shrimpy~!"
"Shhh, not so loud. Jamil may not care, but the others might," Shrimp scolds him, but her smile and the playful boop to his nose contradict her words. She's so soft and pretty, he wants to bite her.
So he does. And she answers with a cute little squeal and giggle, gently biting him back. No matter how many times he assures her that he can take her bites, what with her flat teeth and weak human jaw, she still insists on being gentle. Someone so delicate treating him so delicately is so fun to see~
In contrast, Crab has no problem sinking his teeth on Floyd's shoulder, trying his best to leave a mark as dark as Floyd usually leaves on them. Luckily for him, Floyd's human form has softer skin than his merfolk form, and he manages to leave a big purple bruise. So fun, he is so fun~
"Now, let's to sleep! Coach Lob– Vargas is going to wake us up really early tomorrow."
Floyd giggles at her slip up, not resisting the sudden urge to kiss her pretty lips. He has never resisted that urge, anyway. Her kisses always start a bit shy, but soon enough she's biting his lips back and running her nails up and down his neck, going from a helpless Shrimpy to a treacherous Siren.
"I'm feeling like a third wheel here," Crabby complains, arms crossed. Azul likes to say Floyd is a brat, but he has never seen this side of Crabby, and he shall never see it if the merman has any say on it.
Instead of answering, the eel breaks the kiss with their girlfriend and kisses the complaining crab. Kisses with Crabby are fun too, starting with the redhead trying to dominate Floyd the best he can, full of determination and rebellion. He has yet to win, though, for Floyd enjoys making him give in and melt, becoming docile like an anemone.
The night goes by far too quickly, if you ask Floyd. One moment they're all laughing under the blankets, exchanging kisses and bites, the next Coach Lobster is waking them up with his annoying loud voice.
Floyd has a sudden urge to have lobster for breakfast.

2.1 Spoilers, Aventurine analysis
I regret to say that I enjoyed Aventurine's story much less than I should have. And not because it was bad, but because it was spoiled for me by people who don't tag their leaks, mostly fanartists. People call it one of the best stories in the game so far, and I usually love emotional stuff like that, but instead I was just going through the motions.
Yeah, child Aventurine, Aventurine in shakles, whatever, I've been forcefed all this stuff a month ago, I already saw dozens of arts of it against my will, let's move on. To all these artists - I hope not adding one little "hsr leaks" to your tags was worth it.
(speaking of which - my current goal is to unhate that new cowboy guy before he actively enters the story. Currently, I can't stand the sight of him, and for exactly the same reason, untagged leaks. He seems like a potentially great character, and he's already quite popular. And hating a popular character isn't fun at all)
But not to be too negative, even though I weren't allowed to enjoy 2.1 story as much as it deserves, I still liked it quite a lot, and it's a testament to how well written Aventurine is.
One of the worst things you can do to a character is to make them emotionally static. Aventurine doesn't suffer from this at all, it's shown very well in the different ways he talks to people, and that's what I wanted to talk about.
The first way is what I call "slimey creep." It's the way he mostly talks in 2.0 to TB and most other characters, and he's quite antogonistic and unlikeable, probably because it's his goal to seem antogonistic and unlikeable.
Second is the fear and desperation that's always under the surface, carefully hidden, what his future self talks about - we can see it when Sunday does his harmony thing on him.
And third, my favorite, is what I call "disarming sincerity." Not that he's neseccerily insincere in his other modes, but this is his dippest self, hidden under all the layers of pain, fear, and cynicism. He shows it when he talks to his younger self (btw I don't usually go there, but it made me think that he'd be great with children.)
We also see him using it for self-defense - when Ratio goes too far in 2.0, he retorts with this seemingly naive "I didn't go to school and my parents "left" me", and Ratio immediately apologizes.
But most interestingly, he uses it with Ratio, most of the time they spend together in 2.1 up until the "betrayal.".
It might be a deliberate ploy to manipulate him, trying to seem more likeable, to assure his loyalty (Ratio's reaction to "I didn't go to school" showed that he's quite susceptible to it).
It might come from his realization that the end is near, and why not just be yourself and have some fun for a change.
Or, of course, it might be because he actually enjoys Ratio's company and feels safe enough to show this hidden vulnerable side of himself.
The truth is probably somewhere in between.
They both joke and bicker (with Ratio remembering from time to time that he's supposed to show his "hatred" of Aventurine), and they both seem to really enjoy it. They argue about birds, Aven gets excited about the sandpit, and so on.
Let's take the joke Sparkle made about Aventurine and Sunday (about undressing and kneeling down) - it's mean and maybe even cruel, considering certain things from Aventurine's past that weren't directly implied but can be assumed, probably. And let's compare it with the joke he himself makes about him and Sunday ("now that I'm tiny I can hide on Sunday's clothes and spy on the Family, hehe, uwu"). It's a joke you'd expect from a child. Or from an adult who feels comfortable enough in your presence that they aren't afraid to seem childish or silly.
So yeah I'd really like to see them interact in a less stressful situation after these events. tbh I think they'd talk in more or less the same way. Aventurine already feels as safe and open around Ratio as he can allow himself to. And Ratio is too rigid in the way he speaks, he won't change that easily.
In defiance of a tired stereotype of an eccentric genius who is bad with people, Ratio seems quite good at understanding them. What he's bad at is expressing his feelings in a "convencional" way.
(he only sounds sincere and emotional when he talks about abstract matters he's passionate about, like his little speech to Screwllum at the end of his quest. He probably sounds like that when he talks about science too.)
But when it comes to his feelings towards people he becomes even more formal and strict (remember his messages from the valentine's day event on twitter)
I can imagine his thought process after he leaves Aventurine in 2.1.
"I verbally expressed my concern to him, which should reassure him of my loyalty and support. Furthermore, I provided him with an insightful and reassuring message in written form. So he should be fine."
btw speaking of that note, when I read it, I can imagine Ratio saying "Do stay alive" aloud. But I can't imagine how he'd say the next line, wishing him luck. I mean, he can't say it in his usual "I'm tired of idiots" way of speaking, right? Something to look forward to.

I saw your Obey me seeing MC's true form. I already Love it. Could you do the other side characters? Probably Solomon, Barbatos, Thirteen, Raphael. Definitely would love to see they're reaction when Mc reveals they're true form as a curvy Femine! 💕💕💕
Tumblr media
Solomon
“Nice to see the curtains match the drapes.”
*he’s talking about your personality*
Anyway you just keep getting more and more interesting
Granted he may have gotten fed up with all the demons fighting over a pink sheep and may have used his expertise in magic and sources in the human world to see who you really are
But he definitely uses this to get closer to you
I mean who better to help you understand the nuances of having a human body in the devildom
He’s also intrigued by your sheepy bits
And I can see him tricking you or just politely asking for you him to poke and prod at your wool and horns
“H-hey Solomon c-can you just be gentle when you ah-!”
“Of course of course (Y/n) but you have to understand just how rare this situation is. Not to mention you're just so soft.”
Tumblr media
Barbatos
“...Come (Y/n), I’m sure you’d appreciate some clothes.”
“Y-yes! Thank you!”
He remains cordial
As any good butler is
Having the ability to look into and travel into the future hides his real reaction
‘Didn’t you become just so much cuter?’
He’s silently hoping you mess up somehow so he can come, scold you or guide you the right way
“Sorry to ask for your help with this. I've just never worn stuff like this before.”
“It’s of no consequence to me (Y/n), it is hospitable to make sure our guests are comfortable.”
He’s not going to break his persona
He has too much control for that
But he can’t deny his immense pride when you happily munch on whatever he made
Or drinking the tea he fixes you
He’s more than happy to dispose of some minor demons stalking you or happily destroying the guests that seem to pose a threat you
Of course at Diavolo’s command
“Shall I dispose of the offending devil, my lord?”
Tumblr media
(Source)Thirteen
“Huh!? You’re telling me that’s how you really look!? What a trap!”
She’s both amused and excited
What fun!
Her enemy’s student turned out to be so much more attractive than she originally thought
And wouldn’t it be fun to exploit that a little
Not to mention with your lingering sheep extremities
Your so much fun to scare
If only you’d walk into her traps more often
“Awwww come on! You couldn’t walk into my Dan the sheep stripper!”
“Wait, what is ‘Dan’ supposed to do?”
“Heyy you can be all sheepy but you can’t be stupid too.”
She is eating this up
It's all fun and games until her new favorite human is being hogged by those brothers
“Well guess I’ll just have to up the ante! After all its so much more fun to show how cool it is to be solo!”
Tumblr media
(Source) Raphael
“Ah, another surprise from this human.”
He’s kind of unamused
But it means a lot more that you look more human as you try to be friendly with him
He takes you a little more seriously
“Do you need your wool?”
“Well some of it, why?”
“I want to see how close crocheting is to sewing…that is a human activity that requires wool doesn’t it?”
“W-well yeah, but you won’t make a whole lot with just the fluff on my wrists and ankles though.”
“..You have more on your chest don’t you and near your pelvis. I can sheer those-”
“WHAT?! No no! That’s not okay!”
“Why, you can spare some can’t you.”
It's his vague understanding of his feelings for you that has him wanting more
If you reluctantly give a handful of cotton he’ll eventually need more
And should he decide that your taking too long to deliver
I can see him making an attempt to get it himself
Which with your human body comes with its own idiosyncrasies
“Stay still. Do you want me to bring out my spear?”

A long time ago in a... well... galaxy full of ducks and mice
Hello there!
How should we celebrate Star Wars Day? Uhm... what about a ride along some italian Disney "parodies" of Star Wars? And I use quotation marks 'cause, it'll probably surprise you but, as of today, there is no real Disney parody of Star Wars.
There are, though, many stories that draw inspiration from some elements of Lucas' saga, starting from "Topolino e la spada di ghiaccio" (1984) amazing fantasy saga by Massimo de Vita that has nothing to do with Star Wars but gives us the first Disney character whose design's been heavily inspired by Darth Vader: the evil Prince of Mists!
Tumblr media
The nefarious Prince of Mists from "Topolino e la spada di ghiaccio".
Scattered throughout the years there are many other stories inspired by Star Wars from Silvia Ziche's Topokolossal (1997):
Tumblr media
Mickey Skyrunner weilds his legendary catalytic baguette as he faces off Pietro Galactus.
up to "Paperoga eroe dello spazio" (2013) a splendid, touching story by Roberto Gagnor and Claudio Sciarrone that culminates in one of the best plot twists ever on Topolino's pages (this story is the dream of any Galactic Empire fan ❤️).
Tumblr media
Easy, Gorgius "heir" to Behlpost's throne... who do you think you are? Luke Skywalker? (Spoiler: you're not).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You may call it Behlpost, but that's Naboo royal palace for sure... with imperial guards as it seems 😁 (or are they forerunners of Operation Cinder sentinels? 🤔).
The only story (well, saga actually) that comes the most close to a real parody is Giorgio Pezzin's "Topolino e i signori della Galassia" (1991) which draws heavily inspiration from Star Wars expecially in the second episode.
The main character of this story is Goofy, who finds out to have inherited special powers from some old relative. Powers that make him the only one able to help the Galactic Confederation in their struggles against robots named "the Metals" led by general Titanio who seeks to eradicate every biological life form from the galaxy.
Tumblr media
Jeez, Titanio's soldiers may be robots but their aim is as bad as Stormtroopers'... 🤣🤣
Tumblr media
That's definitely the Battle of Hoth.
I know for sure there are also Star Wars inspired stories starring Josè Carioca out there, and McGreals' "May the farce be with you" (2005), but, unfortunately, I never had the chance to read them 'cause they've never been published in Italy.
But today's biggest obstacle to a Star Wars parody is Disney's auto-censorship. Yes, 'cause there's a strict rule at Disney that forbids authors to write parodies of other Disney franchises... so any parody of Star Wars (and Marvel) it's a very loud no-no. Sad :'(
We do know, though, that there are at least three finished legit parodies that never saw the light of day. One by Francesco Artibani that was supposed to be published on Topolino and two made-in-Egmont drawn by Cavazzano and Freccero.
Of the latter we can appreciate a beautiful illustration and a single page thanks to Freccero sharing them online a few years ago:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Alas, unless Disney change their internal directives (and there's no way it's gonna happen anytime soon) we'll never get the chance to see these or any other Star Wars inspired story in the near future.
But we can sure appreciate the older ones and if you wanna indulge yourself in something different today... these are the stories you're looking for ;)
May the Force be with you!
(And LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE!!! 💪)

Felix x Rime x MC Polycule Domestic Headcannons
Fandom: Last Legacy (Fictif/Nix Hydra/Dorian) Characters: Felix, Rime, Gender neutral MC Prompt: hcs ab how would domestic life be for Felix and Rime and MC polycule Requested by: @mossmosis Warnings: Brief stabbing mention (Rime is in this, so-)
Last Legacy content, in this day and age?! It's more likely than you think! I've gotten a bit distracted with other fandoms, but I've been meaning to return to my beloved Fictif fandoms. I suppose now's the time!
Also, thank the dice gods for bringing you this particular treat! I had motivation to write, but no idea what to do, so I rolled some dice and this was the result!
Requests are open, as always, so if you'd like to see more, send me an ask!
Tumblr media
For starters, there is no shortage of sarcasm and snarky commentary in this relationship. It's practically one of your love languages at this point! Rime and Felix are both prone to making smart remarks, and when they're both in the mood for banter, things can get mildly out of hand... you've had to calm Anisa down after she witnessed one such moment, assuring her that the two of them were not, in fact, in a terrible mood and taking it out on each other. You've come to enjoy their banter, regardless whether you join in or simply sit back and watch the show.
Both of them enjoy teasing you and each other, though there are some stylistic differences. Felix tends to be a little softer and kinder with his teasing - don't get me wrong, there's often a little bite behind his words, that cute little smirk and playful sparkle in his eyes that makes your heart flutter. He teases you about lighter subjects, and though he often speaks without thinking, he never means any harm by it.
Rime, on the other hand, doesn't hold back in the slightest. It's not that he means to hurt your feelings, he isn't doing it out of malice - he simply doesn't know when to back off sometimes. If you call him on it, he'll scoff and roll his eyes, likely making some little comment about you not being able to take a joke - but he won't tease you about that again, and he'll do something nice for you in the near future as an unspoken apology.
Speaking of gifts, both of them will absolutely shower you and each other with small gifts for absolutely no reason. Felix is prone to bringing something home for you both anytime he visits the market - it's very rare that he forgets, though sometimes he'll return empty-handed and visibly frustrated that he couldn't find anything suitable. He sometimes gifts you and Rime jewelry, and has surprisingly impeccable taste, always giving you something you'll love. Books are another of his frequent gifts, of course - you can expect any new books to go missing shortly afterwards as he borrows them to read them himself before quietly returning them a few days later. You've also received a few trinkets that match his gothic mage aesthetic, too, because it wouldn't be Felix if he didn't share his love of vaguely creepy things with you!
Rime tends to focus less on physical gifts and more on actions. He spends time with you both, learns about your interests, stabs your enemies, and does small things to help you out. He prefers to be a little more subtle with his affections, almost pretending like he doesn't care, when in reality he cares very much. It's not that he's hiding it, he just... isn't very open with his emotions yet. When he does bring you gifts, though, it's usually something pretty simple, like some random trinket he saw and thought of one or both of you. I could also see him taking up woodcarving as a hobby to help him relax and unwind, so you'll occasionally find a new gift from him sitting on your desk, carved from wood or, sometimes, from his shed antlers. He likes bringing you food, too, and memorizes both of your tastes and favorite treats so he can choose the best treats.
Getting all three of you in bed at the same time can be difficult, but when it is achieved, you have a delightful time cuddling with each other. On the somewhat rare occasion that you all turn in together, you take turns being the one in the middle unless one of you has had a particularly bad day and needs double the snuggles. Most of the time, though, whoever goes to bed first ends up in the middle, with the other two crawling in wherever there's space when they're finally tired enough to get some sleep.
Mornings are always interesting, too. You or Rime are always up first - it's almost never Felix. Whoever is up first starts making the coffee and/or tea, and you try to take turns making breakfast. Rime might complain if you miss your turn, but you know he doesn't really mean it. He won't admit it easily, but he actually enjoys cooking, especially for his partners. Once breakfast is ready and one of you drags Felix out of bed, you all sit down for a nice meal together. Depending on how busy you three are, sometimes breakfast is the only meal you can all have together, so you make the most of it!
When you do have time off from your busy schedules, you almost always spend it together. Most of the time you're in the study/library at Fathom, doing more casual research projects together or reading books in a comfortable silence. Sometimes, though, you go out to get some fresh air and a change of scenery! Wandering around Porriman markets is often a good way to spend an afternoon, sampling various treats and buying interesting things for one another.
Something else you three often do together is stargazing. Felix obviously loves it, especially when he gets to share it with his loves, and though Rime might comment that it's boring just to be a bit of a brat, once he gets comfortable he'll become far more relaxed. Often times these nights consist of you and Rime gazing quietly at the stars, listening contentedly to Felix's soft voice as he rambles on and on about them. He'll inevitably get a bit flustered when he realizes just how long he's been talking, but it's nothing a few kisses can't fix~
Honestly this entire relationship would just be so soft and so chaotic at the same time. You all love each other so much and care deeply for one another, but there's rarely a dull moment!

Alex Garland's Civil War is my perfect movie. I'm not sure who else's, though.
Tumblr media
There's a thing I've said about lots of art: if you have to read the artist's statement to get the point, the artist's statement is the art. I read multiple interviews with Garland, went in prepared for the movie he was trying to make, and I loved it, a lot. I don't know if I can say that I enjoyed it, because it's super-emotional, especially super-tense. But I'm very very glad I saw it, and if somebody invited me to go with them, I'd probably watch it again, and I may well buy the blu-ray when it comes out. That being said? I'm not sure who else, other than a few weirdos like me and a few academic cinephiles this movie is for.
Remember the movie Pleasantville, if you even saw it? The trailer mislead a lot of people into expecting a jokey comedy about how dumb "Return to Normalcy" era sitcoms were, and nearly everybody who went in with those expectations hated Pleasantville, because what they got was a deep philosophical meditation on how you can't actually solve a social problem without losing your innocence, and loss of innocence, no matter how necessary, hurts. So almost nobody loved Pleasantville but a few people like me, who wanted it injected straight into our veins.
So let me lay this straight out before you buy your ticket to Civil War:
First of all, at no point in Garland's Civil War do they tell you the politics of any of the three sides in the near-future second American Civil War. Nor are you expected to figure them out. The war started four or five years before the first scene of the movie, and none of the people in this movie are still interested in debating why the war. There are three sides, and while there are people who say that the Western Forces are Democrats and the Florida Alliance are Republicans and the Federal Army are Trumpist, they are reading their own prejudices into way too few background clues and ignoring the other background clues that contradict that theory.
I know that every American who sees this movie is watching to find out which army is "on my side," which one they're supposed to be rooting for, and that is not a movie that Alex Garland wanted to make. You are supposed to be rooting for the war to just be over and elections to resume. Because that's what every civilian and every soldier wants, and nearly all the unlawful combatants. And also ...
This is not a war movie. If you want the (somehow, to you anyway) relaxing catharsis of cheering while lots of military hardware gets used? You are going to hate Civil War because this movie is, to borrow an older metaphor, Tomorrowland to your Mad Max: Glory Road. Garland made this movie to shame you particularly if you like war movies. The total amount of combat footage in this movie probably doesn't reach 20 minutes, and our main viewpoint character for the final battle sequence is a traumatized civilian.
One last thing I can say before diving behind a spoiler warning, though: it is an amazing technical movie, this thing should win all the technical Oscars next year. In particular, the principal photography is the best I've ever seen and the way it mixes (and sometimes un-mixes!) the separate audio tracks perfectly manipulates the tension level. And all four lead actors put their whole selves into these parts and held nothing back.
So what is this movie if it's not a political movie or a war movie? I can't tell you that without diving at least partway into spoiler territory, so ...
Alex Garland wants to prove two things in this movie:
Life in a failed state sucks ass. Yes, even if you're nowhere near the combat zone. And ...
War correspondents and combat photographers themselves wonder if what they're doing is making any difference, but they're heroes for trying.
The journalists themselves can't point to a single time what they do prevented or stopped a war, and they very much wonder if they're just adrenaline-addicted glory-hogs. But even not even knowing if what they're doing will ever save a single life, they are absolute fucking heroes. They put themselves at insane risk because this is the only thing that they know how to do and if it has any chance of saving lives, of preventing or stopping war, it has to be tried.
Our main cast are four journalists: an elderly war correspondent, a middle aged war correspondent, a middle aged combat photographer, and a (too) young combat photographer on a mission:
They start in Federally occupied NYC, reporting on anti-regime protests and terrorist attacks. They've heard rumors about the actual war. Right now the front line is a three-way battle for control of Charleston, South Carolina. They've heard that the Westerners and the Floridians are going to fight each other to the death as soon as they push the Federals out of the Carolinas, and then on July 4th, just a week away or so, the likely winners, the Westerners, are nearly certain to seize the capitol. They think the 5 year war is almost over, and are trying to figure out how to cover the end. This is, like, literally the whole of the first two scenes.
The old guy wants to cover the battle of Charleston "for whatever is left of the New York Times" and then retire. The three younger journalists have an even crazier idea: skip the battle of Charleston and use the last remaining highway into/out of DC to outrun the Western Forces and cover the fall of the White House.
So the overwhelming majority of the movie is a several day, many hundred mile road trip in an armored car marked PRESS. This involves driving west to Pittsburgh and then back east to Charleston, to get around the combat zone, which results in the real main part of the movie:
The road trip is intended to show you how much the combination of anarchy, localized paranoia, and fear of looters is driving various levels of savagery far from the war zone, which the reporters and photographers keep stopping to document.
It ends with the race to keep up with the Western forces so they can cover the fall of the White House, which is the only long combat scene in the movie, and it is incredibly intense, and very loud and scary, and nobody except maybe the kid photographer covers themselves in glory.
And every scene of it tells the same didactic message, told in about a dozen different ways: when the war is over, whether or not you were "on the right side" is going to matter a lot less than the horror you lived through, and wartime journalists put themselves through hell to try to prove that to you before it's too late.

Beware, spoilery content for MW3
I'm sitting at the counter of my kitchen, crying into my thoroughly weighed high protein / high carb (and low flavour) lunch bowl. And no, that's not the reason I'm crying.
Ever since I turned on my (back then) PS3 and started up this new first person shooter game called Modern Warfare, I felt a deep connection with this then mute character.
I was the F.N.G. The fucking new guy.
Long before I had the words (I only came out in 2019) I knew: That's me. That guy is more like me than any other protagonist I've ever played. Not much was known about Soap back then. And not much was known about me, the real me, either.
Fast forward to 2022. I am myself. More than I've ever been. And the ratings for the upcoming new MW2 are through the roof. I remember how much I loved the old games. I haven't played CoD in a while because the newer games weren't really for me anymore. Also life got in the way and you know how things are sometimes.
To kill some time until the release of MW2, I got a copy of the new MW (which totally went under my radar, because I was busy fighting therapists, health insurance, government agencies etc., not to mention the whole coming out) and was so happy when I saw a familiar face in the post credit scene: Soap.
I started to worry if the game would live up to the hype. But not only did it feel exactly like it felt back then. It felt even better. Mainly - for me - because it felt like picking up a part of myself I thought I'd lost. It felt like reclaiming a part of me that didn't quite feel like me back then (I suppose that doesn't make much sense to anyone but me).
Playing again as Soap reminded me of how far I've come. It was like reaching out to that younger person I was back in 2007, saying "see? this is who you're supposed to be. we made it".
Recently I've started to roleplay again. Spinning stories with other people, writing from the point of view of their favorite character. Writing as Soap, I want to make people happy. Because he is the ray of sunshine we all need.
And with the ending of the new MW3 we need it even more.
The point I'm trying to make is: I don't think people can ever overestimate how much fictional characters can mean to people. Sometimes they help us through tough phases of our lives, like a close friend. Sometimes they point out a strength in us we didn't know we had. And when they're gone, they leave a hole.
I now have to continue my way without Soap once again. Even though he will live on in the fandom. I'll still be roleplaying, writing stories, maybe putting together a proper cosplay.
In the past months, Soap brought me on a better path. I've started to workout again and to better take care of myself. Because life is now. I've even started to learn Gaelic just for the sake of it. Because I love languages.
I've always wanted to visit Scotland ever since I made my own money. Never did, sadly. Maybe that's something I'll do in the near future, too. Thanks to Soap.
That and getting a very funny tattoo to honour the memory, which I might reveal once I got it.
Of course my thanks go out to all the people who worked at the game. But a special thanks also goes to Neil, who brought our dear Soap to life. Who gave him a personality he didn't have back in 2007.
And who encouraged people to express their love for this character by sharing their work on his channel. Who even humoured us when it comes to the idea of a "less professional" relationship between Ghost and Soap.
Neil, you will never know how much this meant to us. You'll always be our Soap.

Summary
Shu Takumi has done it again (even though this is a remaster lol). What and incredible mystery game with really fun mechanics. There were definitely a couple times I was stumped on what to do or was stuck bc I missed my window of opportunity, but I think it worked well since the puzzles were difficulty and you couldn't just immediately breeze past them all. I also really enjoyed gaining missile's abilities later and having to think of the puzzles in different ways. The characters and animations/sprites were really fun. There's so much personality in them without even saying a word. The game also reveals character information in a really good way as you slowly learn more about the mystery of the game yet also feels like you're getting farther from learning who you are. I also just love how this game is just made with so much love for Takumi's real pets and how Sissel ended up being Yomiel's beloved cat... what a sweet ending oh my god. Each level had such a fun and unique design while also adding a twist to the puzzle, like the stealth level or submarine sinking level. The game also has many unlockable achievements to encourage replayability as well as concept art and other illustrations to unlock. There's so much added to this game and you can really feel the love and care the team put into this game, I hope there are more Ghost Trick games in the future or hopefully even a Ghost trick x Ace Attorney crossover -- I wonder how that would play out esp with Maya's spirit abilities. All in all, such a sweet and fun game. Not too long either. Can't wait to replay it to get all the achievements and make fanart!

Wish rewrite ✨ pt.5
This is the fifth and final part of my rewrite of "Wish." The first part is here, the second is here, the third is here, and the fourth is here.
If you've made it this far, I hope you enjoyed my version :) I'm toying with the idea of making an "Extra Details" post that covers info I was unable to (organically) include in these summaries, as well as giving full descriptions of the key characters.
Star’s revival: Asha runs to Star’s side and holds him in her arms. He looks up at her and smiles despite his pain. She tells him the king and queen have been defeated. But something is wrong; he’s still near-death and not turning into a full wishing star like he was supposed to after helping to make her wish come true. She wonders this out loud, tears imminent, but is silenced by him tenderly cupping the side of her face. All that matters to him is that she’s okay and that Rosas will have a future. She can sense this and verbally affirms that it will. His light starts to go out and his hand falls. She presses her forehead against his. “I know it will,” she continues, the tears now falling. “I have hope.” A light soon appears in his chest. It grows until it envelops his entire body. Asha watches this in shock and is startled when his body starts to rise. She lets go of him and stands back, watching wide-eyed as his clothes change and the entire room is bathed in the same warm glow as when he first arrived to Rosas. His eyes open. He’s alive! (It wasn’t just saving Rosas that Asha wished for; she had also (inadvertently) wished to feel hope again.) Star takes in his new appearance before looking at Asha, smiling as big and bright as he always does. She’s speechless as she runs to hug him tightly. They pull back then slowly lean in and kiss. Star dust circles around them, pushing them closer together.
Rosas learns the truth: Sakina, Sabino, and Dahlia arrive and Asha embraces them. They look at Star in bewilderment and Asha properly introduces him. (“Orion?” Sakina asks. “Actually… everyone, meet Star,” Asha says. *Star bows cordially*) All five of them see Magnifico and Amaya trapped in the top part of the staff and Asha’s accusations are finally validated when Dahlia, Sakina, and Sabino read the journal. The couple’s attempts at pleading their innocence don’t work and they’re taken to the dungeon. ("At least they have each other," Dahlia says in a smug tone) Star leaves to spread glistening star dust across Rosas, coinciding with the approaching dawn. He and Asha meet up at the center of the city, along with Sakina, Sabino, and Dahlia. It’s here that Asha explains to the townspeople the wrongdoings of their beloved monarchs and Rosas’ covered-up history, with the journal and history book serving as proof. Simon corroborates what she says and also apologizes to her for what he did. Everyone is taken aback by these revelations. Questions about what they’ll do regarding their wishes, as well as how they’ll carry on without the king and queen in charge, inevitably rise and one person even says “Without Magnifico’s magic, it’s hopeless.” Asha approaches them, holds their hand reassuringly, and replies, “There’s always hope.” Sakina and Sabino look on proudly. Star looks on adoringly.
Star’s departure; Asha receives wand: The sun peeks further over the horizon and it’s clear that Star has to go. His job is done, Asha’s wish has come true, so he must return to the sky. Asha admits that even though she accepted his unavoidable departure long ago, it still hurts. Star creates a magic wand for her so that she can continue to spread hope and inspire people. “I don’t suppose a… once a month visit would be too optimistic for me to hope for…?” she asks hesitantly. Star reacts positively to the idea. The pair hug and Asha whispers to him, “I love you, too.” (referencing the heart he made for her during the climactic fight) These words make him melt more into their embrace. He really doesn’t want to go. They pull apart and he begins ascending to the sky, with their hands holding on for as long as possible. He showers Rosas with star dust one last time before finally leaving.
Rosas reborn: Some time has passed and the city has transformed in various ways. It is more tranquil, has gone back to its prosperous ways, and the people are happier. It is also now known as "the Island of Stars." Tour guides tell a new story to out-of-towners: the epic tale of a brave girl who saved Rosas from evil and, as legend says, with whom a star fell in love. And once a month, it is said that this star returns to see her. The castle is now being used as an observatory, a library that holds all of the books and artifacts from Rosas' once-forbidden history, and a meeting area for the city council (since there is no royalty running things anymore). Asha now works here, helping to manage the place and use the wand to continue aiding and inspiring people. On this day, a townsperson - Bazeema - meets with Asha and gives her something she had commissioned her to make. Asha compliments the final product. We see that even though Asha retains her levelheaded nature, she is as content and relaxed as the rest of Rosas. When her wand is not in use, she places it in a secure box for safekeeping. Outside, everyone - residents and newcomers alike - is buzzing with excitement. Tonight is the night that a beautiful light will bathe the city in a warm glow. It's a monthly event! Asha takes in this new version of Rosas. It’s wonderful. She glances down at her bracelet and says, "You would love it, Papa." This scene also shows that Sabino's wish of seeing his art come to life is being made possible by collaborating with another townsperson to make them into animations.
Tumblr media
Asha and Star reunite: As night falls, Asha returns to the tree where she had wished on a star. She is wearing a blue dress, which was the item she had commissioned Bazeema to make. (the design of this dress is sort of a nod to the Blue Fairy's dress; of course Asha's is more fitting for her time period) Standing on the extended branch, she eagerly waits until one of the stars shines big and bright. Asha grins as she shields her eyes from the light. Back in town, everyone watches in awe as Rosas is covered in a warm glow. Back at the tree, Asha is met with Star; arms open, smile wide, and floating in front of the tree. (lowkey a reference to Ariel reuniting with Eric lol) She runs to him, not caring about falling off the branch because she knows he'll catch her. And he does. They do a spinning hug before sharing a deep kiss. Still hovering in the air, above the water where the stars are beautifully reflected, they start to dance as star dust surrounds them.
The story concludes with the book from the prologue on the last page. The final picture is of Rosas, thriving once again, and the text on the page reads "And they all lived happily ever after." The book closes.
~ THE END ~

Carried away | Zoro x Reader One Shot
As I write this, I’m on episode 239 of One Piece, but I could not resist writing something for my new husband. I absolutely freaking adore the characters in this show and will most likey write more for them in the future :)
Contents: swearing, very light violence (like, kicking and stuff), soooo fluffy as usual, gn! reader
Tumblr media
For the first time in days, the straw hats finally reach solid ground; you almost jumped up and down with Luffy once your eccentric captain announced it to the ship. The sight of shops and adventures waiting to be uncovered is almost staggering, even though it’s a feeling you’ve been overcome with many times before. You’re snapped out of the daydream as you see Zoro throwing over the enormous anchor with incredulous ease, his figure glistening in the afternoon sun. He puts you in an indescribable trance, one that could easily overpower your prowess if you weren’t on the same crew as him. He turns to you after safely lowering the anchor and gives a small nod; as soon as you turn away, cheeks flush with embarrassment, Nami smacks you on cue.
“Don’t you get carried away by that idiot, y/n!” She scream-whispers to you. “You can do better than that, you know!”
“Yeah, yeah, I know,” you sigh. “I’ve tried, trust me. I just… I still want to get closer to him.”
“Well, have you made the effort?” Nami crosses her arms, giving you a playful smirk.
“I- guess I could.”
The crew begins gathering belongings for their adventure, with Luffy and Usopp already chasing each other down the pier you docked on.
Alright, fine, today’s the day. I can’t play this game with Zoro forever.
The two of you have been good friends since you joined the crew not too long ago, and it didn’t take you long to fall for the swordsman. Unfortunately, Zoro is reserved, and you’ve long tried to bury your feelings for him, save your venting to Nami and Robin from time to time. Yet, the small, almost unnecessary touches he gives you, and how worried he gets over you when you’re wounded make it difficult to keep your feelings away. For maybe, just maybe, the stubborn man could fall for you.
“Hey, Zoro” you approach him apprehensively as he begins to walk off the ship. “You got any plans today?”
“No, not really, just walkin’ around I suppose. Why?”
“Oh! I uhh… me neither.” You’re already sweating under his sharp gaze, per usual. “Do you want to uh… maybe go with me? I have nothing to do in particular.” You trail off at the last part, trying hard to not lose confidence.
“Sure, why not.” He cocks his head towards the exit, jumping off briskly. “Come down when you’re ready!” He yells back up to you.
Your body moves on instinct, swinging over and jumping off the ship as always. What was not in the plan was your shoe getting stuck on a loose nail sticking out of the ship, making you trip and fall over the ship much less gracefully. You scramble for a bit before two strong arms secure your fall, gently lowering you to your feet and patting you on the small of your back. His hand lingers for a bit before he walks around you to check for any damage.
“Tch, Franky’s gotta fix shit like that,” Zoro retorts. “You alright?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. Thanks for catching me,” you reply. “Swear I’ve never done that before, that was lame!”
“Eh, don’t worry about it. I know you’re better than that.” He follows with a small, ambiguous wink.
The hell is up with this man?
After some silence, the two of you find a row of shops with a sea of tourists gliding between them. It’s a wondrous sight to take in for the both of you.
Your eyes find a stand with a small arsenal of weapons, and Zoro catches you mentally recalling how much money you have to spend.“I’m gonna go over there first” Zoro points to a shop near the back of the marketplace, beyond the daunting wave of shoppers. “You can go over there, if you’d like.”
The two of you part ways for a bit, and you walk towards the arsenal to do some window shopping. Unfortunately, nothing seems to be of your liking, and you briskly thank the shopkeeper before turning to head over to Zoro.
Oh no, I let the airhead go off on his own, you curse yourself internally. After a quick first glance, he’s nowhere to be found in the crowd. Swiftly, you navigate the ocean of people and, after making a few educated guesses in turns, immediately spot the swordsman loitering about the street.
“There you are,” you say with an exhale. “Lost you for a sec.”
“Didn’t find what you needed?”
“Nah, nothing good. How the hell did you get over here?”
He shrugs his shoulders, giving you a small chuckle. “You’re a dumbass,” you reply playfully. Then, after gathering all of the courage you could possibly muster, you walk up to him and gingerly grab his wrist.
“I should stick with you, then. Hate to break it to ya, but you’re not really good at the whole ‘directions’ thing.”
His gaze softens with yours as he slides his hand into yours, interlocking it like he’s putting in the last piece of a puzzle. Your heart is threatening to pounce out of your chest, and by the way his ears turn the slightest shade of red, his is as well.
“Whatever you say.” He begins sauntering over to what you can make out is a sword care stand, pulling you alongside him by your hand. Which, you can notice, is already sweaty.
You follow Zoro to a sword care shop, watching his eyes graze every item with care. You’re not a swordsman yourself, but thankfully your mind is hardwired on the hand intertwined in his, taking note of every twitch and movement felt. To know you had a bit of a grip on such an unattainable man made you feel invincible in the moment.
And, fortunately, that invincibility was needed, as a figure slides across your peripheral vision and between you and Zoro, severing your sacred union to him. Your eyes dart to zoro, who is patting his clothing wildly. “Damn them, they took my fucking wallet!” He says between gritted teeth, already reaching for his swords. But before he can make any further moves, you stop him with an outstretched arm. “Let me get this one,” you say quietly to him before pouncing in the direction of the thief.
In one fell swoop, you kick the lousy criminal to the ground, jutting your foot into their neck and standing above them like an animal before prey.
“Think you stole from the wrong crew,” you spit, before reading down and plucking Zoro’s wallet from the thief, giving them one last kick to the groin for good measure. “Get lost.”
The thief scrambles to their feet and scurries into a nearby alleyway, and you turn back to meet Zoro with your head held high.
“Easy enough,” you smile at him, handing Zoro’s wallet to him. He takes back his belongings, then replaces the wallet with your hand, reuniting you to him once again. He then, much to your surprise, pulls you by the arm towards him, close enough to where you can hear his heartbeat drumming on his chest like a timpani. Your wide eyes meet his, and he gives you a small, but lingering, kiss on the forehead. “That was kinda hot, y/n. You should do that more sometime.”
“Well, I’d rather you not get your wallet stolen again,” you tease him, bringing your free hand up to caress his toned arm and taking in the warmth you longed for.
“Idiot. Wanna get lunch somewhere?”
“Like, a date?” You say, a huge grin forming on your face.
“Sure, let’s call it that.”

Home, Pt. 1
Home (S01E09) gives us insight into the characters by delving into their subconscious. The misty alien entity enters the minds of the characters and constructs illusions from their thoughts. The illusions lack a sophisticated understanding of our world. Unlike the others, Sheppard is noted to be capable of manipulating his fabricated reality, which also gives us another level of insight into him while at the same time allowing him to hide parts of himself from both the audience and the other characters.
It has been suggested that Sheppard was able to do this because he lacked any real ties to earth and had no desire to return there, unlike the others. In Letters from Pegasus (S01E16) he claims not to have family back on earth, which we later learn is not exactly true, and in this episode he notes that he had spent 11 months in Antarctica prior to their departure. But -- and I'll return to this topic in the future -- his strong ATA gene also seems to make him mentally different in various ways. For one, he is able to sense or get a feel of the ancients just by being near them. But I also think that it was not just window-dressing that there was an active stargate in his subconscious mind in Doppelganger (S04E04). He is wired differently.
The episode starts in the real world, on the planet of the mist.
The team is really starting to gel together, all of them getting to become familiar with each other. While we meet them in medias res, again we get an indication of Sheppard and McKay spending time together apart from the others (and more than we see on screen) in his line "You talked me into coming here because you thought those energy readings indicated the presence of a civilisation." This is the first, but it will not be the last time that Sheppard agrees to go on a mission and to drag out said mission way beyond its expiration date just to please Rodney.
Again, they walk hella close even though this time they're not even alone together:
Tumblr media
On the planet, we see John check out hot and sweaty McKay.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Where in the previous episode Underground (S01E08) he was quite unabashed about his gazing at the other man, we also saw a change in him toward the end of the episode. His interest had suddenly become more serious. You can see it here.
He looks, and then forces himself to avert his eyes. He looks deflated, almost sad here. And he very much keeps not looking at McKay after this which is even more noticeable on this planet that has nothing on it to look at. He literally forces himself to look at nothing to keep from looking at McKay (and we are emphasized this not-looking by how both the DHD and Ford are placed between them).
The context here is that Sheppard is having to be the boss of him, the leader. The way he very softly says "Alright, then let's call it a mission" shows that he's not entirely comfortable with it, he's not quite sure how he's supposed to be navigating the situation. Like it's a suggestion, not a command. He also starts explaining himself to McKay, giving him reasons why they really should be getting back.
So, Sheppard attempts to keep a distance. But he can't manage it. After they dial the gate and McKay suddenly gets excited about the energy readings, Sheppard not only approaches him when he could well have made his inquiries from where he was standing by the gate, he walks right up to McKay, right up in his face. This was 100% unnecessary. For some reason, he just wanted to get close to the man. He's not even trying to look at McKay's device or using any other pretense for why he approached. He also utterly forgets his earlier apprehension and is suddenly real animated.
Tumblr media
My guy.
This is also the first time of something that we see a lot in the first season but not so much later: Sheppard short-circuiting McKay's brain by saying something unexpected. The dialogue isn't usually correctly rendered in transcripts:
Sheppard: How much is a lot? McKay: What, in terms of joules or ergs? Sheppard: In terms of ... lots. McKay: Well, lots and lots. What the-- Enough to open a wormhole back to earth!
They omit the middle part that expresses his utter bewilderment. This is a theme that repeats. Sheppard is forcing McKay to think of things he had never thought of in a way he had never thought of them which is definitely one of the reasons he comes to like the major so much. McKay is so smart that he is rarely challenged, and Sheppard does it so effortlessly, in effect hacking his brain.
Also, they sure do be looking each other in the eye for a long time here.
Tumblr media
Again, upon returning to Atlantis and in a meeting with Elizabeth, when Sheppard quips "You said it wasn't fog" his tone of voice is not in the least argumentative but is actually pretty flirty, like catching McKay contradicting himself is the most adorable thing he's ever witnessed. Accompanied by this, what can only be described as a seductive look.
Tumblr media
Sheppard also only really relaxes, leaning back in his chair, once he learns that McKay doesn't actually want to leave Pegasus unless he knew that he could come back. So satisfied, he's suddenly fully on board with Rodney's plan. See his subtle look at Rodney as he leans back, smooth operator that he is.
Tumblr media
A bit later we learn that he also does not want to go to earth. In fact, he pretty much refuses. He can't even meet Weir's eyes when she mentions "home," it seems very much like he no longer considers earth home.
Also, uh.
Tumblr media
Was it absolutely necessary for you to be sitting next to the DHD with McKay grunting and breathing heavily under the table while he was removing the crystal, Major? Good god, the parted lips, the shifting in the chair, catching his breath before he can start talking, putting both of his hands quickly on the table and then deciding he doesn't actually know what to do with his hands right then, interlacing his fingers and pulling them back on his lap. Or... over his lap. As it were.
Please give me an innocent explanation for all of this because I just. Can't. There's even innuendo in dialogue with plugging things into empty slots with McKay making eye contact with Sheppard when he says this like we needed contextual help with eroticizing this scene.
After this, Sheppard actually zones out for a bit. Like he's in a completely different world while the others are having what is a pretty important conversation around him. Military leader in charge of the security of the mission. Where are you?
Tumblr media
Not looking at McKay, that's for certain. Not looking at anything at all. But oh, his mind's eye is clearly seeing something, this is made clear with the raise of the eyebrow. Also, we know that he's thinking about McKay here because this is supposed to be when he's doing mental math to calculate how long it would take for them to come get McKay by jumper.
Also important: Sheppard is not the only one with flirty rejoinders and sultry looks here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like what is this if it isn't flirting? What?
And then there's the disappointed look on McKay's face when he ever so subtly implies that he might require some assistance on the planet and Sheppard swiftly pawns the task off to Ford. Where he is sitting right now, Sheppard does not think he should be alone with McKay on the dark, hot, sweaty, foggy planet. Like, he's not getting up from that chair for a while if you know what I mean.
But on more serious note, the episode actually comes a full circle and returns to this topic toward the end:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sheppard makes the calculation because he actually has no intention of leaving Rodney stranded on an alien planet. He would have gone to get him even if it had taken 800 years.

Rain or Shine
word count: 476
Face upturned to feel the slight drizzle that had cut short your picnic and your attempt to take advantage of the unseasonably warm fall, it takes you a moment to realize Robin isn’t walking next to you anymore. You turn to see her frozen several paces behind you, brown waves turning to damp frizz, her hands stuffed in her pockets.
“I’m so, so sorry, Y/N.” She says, despair coloring every word, “I wanted this to be perfect, because I— I really, really like you, and I’ve kinda wanted to go out with you for ages, and I thought this would be really nice because you said you wanted to have a picnic and I wanted to make you happy but it definitely wasn’t supposed to rain and now it’s ruined—”
Your heart melts as you take in how uncharacteristically nervous she is, reminding you of how she had acted when she first asked you out the week before— a feat that had only been accomplished after much encouragement from Steve and Nancy and plenty of reassurances that yes, you liked her too.
God, she’s really cute when she’s rambling, you think, and in lieu of a response (after a quick glance around to make sure the street is still deserted) you cut her off, slamming your lips to hers.
Robin remains frozen for a moment, but before you can worry that you made a mistake, she’s pulling you closer, one hand reaching up to cup your cheek while the other snakes around your waist.
She tastes like the cherry chapstick she’s always wearing, with a hint of the strawberries the two of you had been snacking on before the clouds had rolled in, and a touch of rainwater (that’s suddenly falling much harder around you, though neither of you take note). The picnic basket slips from your hand and remains there on the wet pavement until you and Robin reluctantly break apart to catch your breath.
“Oh.” Robin blinks owlishly, doing her best to banish the rain from her eyes, “So I didn’t— we’re still okay? Our date isn’t, uh… absolutely ruined?”
“Not at all,” you smile bashfully up at her, faces still barely a breath apart, “Think we can finish our picnic at the library? It should be pretty deserted there, and they let you bring in outside food as long as you don’t go near the books.”
She grins, because of course you would suggest finishing up this date at the library of all places. “Lead the way, sunshine,” she says, dipping to press another, more chaste, kiss to your lips before releasing you.
The two of you race to the library, hands clasped the whole way.
As you arrive at the front doors a damp, giggling mess, you decide that despite the abrupt change in plans, you wouldn’t change a thing about today — rain or shine.

Hello! I have a question I want to ask but you don't have to answer if you don't want to.
I'm recently found out about Ghost x Roach ship and looked it up along with others ghostroach fics you and other recommended.
What I'm curious is, what made you ship it? What moments of them made you ship them? What hints have you seen from them? Or was it "I think it's a neat ship"? And I don't play cod nor likely would play it in the future. But I did watch the walkthrough of the og cod mw and still trying to finish it.
If you can answer this, thank you very much!
Hi! Completely happy to answer this and it's nice to see new people getting into ghostroach haha :)
I'll admit, there honestly isn't much in terms of hints in the games/in canon that prove these two would be a good couple/in love, and it's mostly due to the early fandom efforts that helped elevate the likability of ghostroach.
That being said I'm sure me and other ghostroach shippers can agree that a large reason why this ship is so appealing is more or less the "they died together" and the "doomed love/lovers" trope that makes room for so much angst (which we all know fandoms EAT UP) <-- This is the reason why I personally ship them I just love tragic couples
The og MW games came out when I was pretty young and yk how kids tend to hyperfixate on the most random things. Mine just happened to be og Ghost, and since we play as Roach I suppose me getting into GhostRoach was a bit like self insert?
But at the same time I thought of Roach as his own character and the fact that he didn't have a backstory (or really any info), that gave people the opportunity to give Roach any personality/quirks that they desired lol.
He was like a blank canvas for writers/artists to just throw their ideas on, and it's pretty common for people to ship their OCs with the most popular character, who, for MW2, would've been Ghost.
It's harder now to find the older content, but back then I remember GhostRoach being pretty popular (or as popular as a ship from COD back then could be) and I did notice people liked to make Roach out to be Ghost's perfect dichotomy, which seems to have stuck, as a lot of GR writers/artists nowadays, including myself, like to portray these two as two opposites that attract.
And with Ghost having a hella angsty backstory combined with him being a bit of a closed off, cold, soldier, it kinda seemed inevitable that ghostroach would become a thing, with people back them headcanoning Roach as a more optimistic, wide-eyed, type of person (and we all know people LOVE the brooding, hardassed, broken character falling in love with the caring, more lively and human character)
Even tho canon doesn't really offer much, there are still small moments that people love to bring up when justifying this ship. Like when Ghost specifically requests to be teamed with Roach on the op to raid Makarov's safehouse, as well as near the end of the Loose Ends mission where Ghost is the one dragging Roach's injured body to safety whilst reassuring Roach that he's got his back. And of course, when Shepherd betrays them, Ghost screams when Roach gets shot and immediately tries to apprehend Shepherd (him screaming "No!" just sounded so shocked and pained). All these moments made it seem like Ghost really cared about Roach.
The way these two died was pretty jarring, if I remember correctly I think even news articles were talking about this plot twist and their deaths. So these two are pretty well-cemented in video game history.
At the end of the day, though, GhostRoach is a pretty "I think this is neat" kind of ship. It's definitely enhanced by the nostalgia of the old games and the factor of being able to project onto Roach as a blank character lmao, but yeah you can't deny that people are gonna hyperfixate the hell outta the pairing that's always doomed to end tragically.
I feel like I could go on and on about them but I don't want to subject y'all to my messy rambles haha but if anyone wants to add their own thoughts I'd love to see it!

Just some thoughts on why it's extremely entertaining to watch Bucchigiri?! at least for me and at least now (with 3 ep out)
Obviously the designs, backgrounds, animation, voice acting and music is really good. It's fun enough to watch even without trying to piece together all the details of possible plot development or characterization. The world is bizarre and you never know what will happen, but it's also silly in a way what can remind of silly stuff irl(yes, playing baseball with a basketball, that brings some memories).
Even though the plot isn't clear at all now, i'm still curious about what might happen in the future episodes, cause there's more to each character than i thought at first and in each episode lots of stuff happens. It's both good and bad, but for me it's incredibly interesting, cause it's hard to predict what will actually happen.
And insane details what make no sense at first but then you wake up at 3am realizing "oh, that's what it meant", probably. It just works for some people, but will not work for others, obviously. And i'm in a group who's puzzle-solving and eccentric-fashion-loving parts of the brain just got activated by this show. Kinda spoilers and wild theories, thoughts, observations and bad attempts at analyzing ahead
Right now i think we've been introduced to most main characters, and show may probably continue with awful interactions between them. Awful cause, well, each of these characters wants something different from others, sometimes something completely opposite (like with Senya and Arajin, one wants to fight but has no interest in other stuff, like romance, and the other doesn't want to get anywhere near fights and just wants some romance in his life; similar with Jin siblings, Zabu and Matakara and Arajin and Mahoro in that order, and different gangs). And when there are these dialogue lines and scenes, what kinda feel like they're supposed to make more sense later (like with how Zabu tells where's no "fair" and "unfair" in fights; how Arajin actively avoids talking with Matakara, but is still clearly worried about him, and how quickly his usual commically-happy-and-invincible attitude changes when anyone is hurt; and various comments about gangs' lore in background dialogue; and the fact what there should be a second genie somewhere). It's fascinating if you love digging into every plot detail like there's some big conspiracy behind it. This research activity can be fun on its own, and it's increasingly hard to stumble upon anything what really makes you wonder what is even going on. That is not for everyone, and that's ok. But i won't be able to shut up when i have so many theories about what could happen, or why characters act like they do, because it's fun. First episode is a series of wild events what occurred because characters either ignored something or tried to make something worse for someone because of a personal want. And it just spirals from there. It may be not about how good and right can these characters be, but the opposite, how bad can it get and how can they change it. Everyone is a bit dumb and a bit mean and a bit stubborn, and it's interesting, cause everyone also has something or someone they care about. It's like billiards but with abstract concepts of characters' motivation instead of balls. It will be sad if we just return to typical plot development, though it's not clear what genre are we even watching at the moment. But this will be later, and now i'm having fun with this show, and that's already good.
