Ok ok ok wait because I just wanted to write a villain with a golden retriever aesthetic and a hero with a cat aesthetic and Bern may say he doesn't like Tim but Tim knows that he does because he's a little shit like that and anybody can mess with Tim ok,,, it's just that you're automatically messing with Bern too and I just really love this stupid ship and I wish I could figure out a plot to this

I have some things planned tho. Tim's parents are demons, high-class demons as in they run a kingdom and Jack wants Tim to be a bad demon but Janet (hell yeah good mom Janet) is okay with him being anything (because her and Jack can't exactly die.) So Tim's a hero with Bruce as his mentor and the waynefam are also all supernatural

"Hey there, pretty boy. Mind telling me what's the agenda today?" Tim purrs upside down with his tentacle monster holding him steady. It drips on Bernard's shoe but he couldn't care less.

"I would mind, yes. The same way I mind seeing your face. Be a doll and cover up? You never know who might be watching." Bernard says, tapping away at his keys.

Tim barks out a laugh, it sounds a lot more like a strained cough. "I know you don't mind seeing my face. I also know that nobody's watching. You don't like it when they do." Tim leans forward, right next to Bernard and Bernard wishes that a blush isn't growing on his face at that moment. "I accept apologies in kisses."

"I'm not paying for apologies." Tim pouts, being twisted right side up by his monster. He whines, poking Bernard's shoulder.

"Why noooot?"

"Dad wants me to go back to him." His voice was quiet. Nearly a whisper, and if Bernard wasn't so hyper aware of his existence he would've missed it.

"Then go back to Bruce. It's not like you won't come back here, right? I'm hardly that big of a threat like you exaggerate me as."

"Not him. My...my dad, Bern." He drops the gadget he was working on.

"...you mean Jack?" Tim nods.

"...Well do you want to go back to him?" Tim shakes his head.

"Then you don't have to. I'll hide you here, get your real family to protect you." Tim sighs, standing up and strolling about in the room.

"You don't understand, pretty boy. I don't have a choice less I let our city die at the palm of his hand. I'm telling you because I won't be seeing you for a while." He turns to look at Bernard. “I’m not even sure I’ll be able to come back in your lifetime.” 

Bernard’s breath hitched. “But who’ll protect the city while you’re gone?”

Tim smiles at him ruefully. “Bruce. Jay. Dick. There’s a lot of people, Bern. I’m the only one who’ll be gone. It’s for the greater good.” 

“Greater good my fucking ass. We both know that I’d have ruled the city without you here. I need you to come back, Tim.”

Tim’s jaw clenches. 

“Please, Tim. Promise me that you’d come back.” He looks away. 

“...If you don’t come back to me within 5 years, I promise that I’d drag you back by the ear, even if it means dying in hell to do so.”

Bernard Dowd will probably grow up to be a serial killer, but it’s funny to listen to him conspire about how Nightwing and Batman are the same guy with a split personality disorder for the time being.

At some point, Cassie and Bart and Kon and him cross over the line of besties, and then what’s he supposed to do? Not date the awesomest people he’s ever met?? No.

Tim Drake is a slut and has been the crush of 90% of everyone he’s ever known at some point in their lives. His loser swag and burnt out genius charm gets mad bitches. Nobody can resist a sleep-deprived billionaire fashion disaster like Tim!

Bernard peeks into the lounge, expecting to see Tim, but instead he finds a petite girl sitting behind a desk. Her eyes are shielded behind a pair of sunglasses, complementing her two-piece suit. 

“Sorry.” He shyly backs away. “I’m looking for Tim?” 

“Sit down.” The girl motions to the empty chair in front of the table. 

After a quick scan of the room, Bernard hesitantly sits. He finds the girl familiar, but he can’t put a finger on it.

“So, Mr. Bernardo Howdy—” 

“It’s actually Bernard Dowd—” 

She nods. “Mr. Bernard Dowd. I understand that you are currently in a romantic relationship with my client, Timothy Jackson Caroline Drake-Wayne—” 

“Wait, Caroline isn’t his—” 

“And I am here to ensure that you are treating him as he deserves and I shall administer the ‘Spade Conversation’ on you.” 

“Spade Conversation? Oh, you mean like a shovel talk?”

“Layman’s terms. Potato, potahto.” She waves her hand. 

“Umm, sorry, who are you again?” 

She lowers her glasses a tad bit, revealing her narrowed piercing blue eyes. “Last name: Wayne. First Name: Marinette ‘Marino’ Dupain-Cheng.” 

“Tim’s sister!” Bernard’s eyes widened in recognition. “I don’t think we’ve met before. But you seem really familiar.” 

She clears her throat. “Perhaps you’re mistaking me for someone else. First question, what do you feel about space dinosaurs that are robot hybrids?” 

He looks down on the piece of paper she’s writing on. “Is that a receipt from Batburger? And a crayon?” 

“My materials are irrelevant in these discussions. So, space dinosaurs?” 

“Err—they sound pretty cool?” 

Marinette hums and scribbles down a doodle on the receipt. “Question two. In the case of my client’s extreme sleep deprivation, what are your contingency plans?” 

“Hmm, I usually get him to come cuddle with me and I try to take away his coffee. He falls asleep quickly after that.” Bernard smiles a little. “Did I get that right?” 

“It shall still be deliberated by the panel of shovellers—” 

Suddenly, the door bursts open, revealing a dishevelled and alarmed Tim. Marinette squeaks and hides her things. 

Tim groans. “I was about to tell you not to go to the manor!” He glares at his sister. “What the hell were you doing?” 

“I wasn’t doing anything!” Marinette brings her arms up. “Just a proxy for the head shoveller!” 

“Who the heck is head shoveller?!” 

“That information’s classified!” 

A grumbling Tim takes Bernard by the hand and tugs him out of the room. Bernard waves goodbye to Marinette, entertained by her stunt.
