Dick murmured as he looked up from the screen he was currently so deeply focused on, having been analyzing security footage data for the past two hours since he couldn't quite fall asleep just yet. He knew this wasn't healthy, that he had been pushing himself to an edge in the recent week or so, but it was important.

"In a bit. I just have a few more files to go through." He answered Wally and rubbed one of his eyes, as if the mention of sleep automatically made his body alert to its exhaustion, looking back to the screen and playing the video again.

Wally folded his arms and gave him an annoyed look at that.

"Those files will be here in the morning." He walked over to computer chair and spun him around to look him in the eyes. He knew these where important, but he did not care. He cared more about Dick being there, healthy and alive with them.

"Your body is screaming that you need sleep. Now come here." He picked Dick up now. "Right to your room do you understand me? I am staying in there to make sure that you sleep."

the best kind of character writing i think doesn't confine its characters to having one or two specific narrative foils or parallels but instead writes every character as having traits that both contradict and mirror the others, like splitting a beam of light through a refracting prism
