*Thinking about a post-canon where the Hexsquad can visit the human realm whenever they want*

*Starts wondering how they would pay in the human realm*

*Tries to figure out if a money exchange could be set up without making the existence of the demon realm known*

...

So, I guess there are a couple of options:

Find something that can be obtained in the demon realm and safely sold in the human realm to create a source of dollars that can be exchanged for snails.

Counterfeit Money (Seems very risky, not sustainable)

Vegas, Baby! Use magic to cheat at games of luck. (Still risky, might not be sustainable)

...

Did Eda go to Vegas because she was hiding and needed cash? Because her snails were worthless in the human realm?

I just know Raine’s palisman has such a nerdy, dumb name. If Raine is naming their first rebellion the BATs, and their second one the CATs, both of which are heavily themed, you bet your ass this silly little fox has the stupidest pun for a name.

I bet they named it Trot. Short for Foxtrot. I’m melting this into my canon and it can be pried out of my cold, dead hands.

a pet headcanon of mine is that after they're done with the sigil removal, emira expands her horizons and starts studying the psychological side of healing, pulling in some resources from the human realm and combining it with boiling isles methods (i imagine the field of psychology in the boiling isles, while existent, was often pushed aside as just a lesser branch of the healing coven back when belos was in charge. i do imagine there's often magic like the memory tweezers involved)

and i imagine she ends up focusing in on like, art therapy and self-expression, because she knows how important that can be, after having her individuality stifled so hard when she was young

im still formulating this headcanon but i am 100% convinced hunter's new palisman waffles is a straight up bitch. and we love her for that

justification ok hunter had a nice palisman in his #badboy #sadboy era to teach him about making friends and being nice. now that is 1. no longer a child soldier and 2. in his growth era, he needs a palisman to teach him to establish boundaries and value himself!! a little counterbalance to the guilt and self-loathing kinda. kinda skulking around the corner there

Status Update and Warning of a Synopsis Drop

Gonna keep it a stack w yall fellas. I've written over 100 parts of this comic spanning all of the episodes (over 300 pages using 9 point font on google docs) and im realizing theres No Way I'm gonna be able to get my motivation to draw as much as I did for TT back when I first started, much less finish the thing. Much less actually GET to YBOS, which is when the canon deviance legit starts and the story gets way more interesting imo.

So here's what's going to happen:

I'm going to stop drawing the comic. As much as I really like the idea of finishing this particular scene, I know I'm not gonna be able to do it. I haven't updated consistently for months – this is the end of my line here.

BUT

I'm going to write the whole story in its own post WITH VISUALS. I'll explain what happens in every episode over the course of all the seasons, maybe even include some of my favorite visuals/boards when I was writing them. I'll also probs have some deleted concepts in a separate post (because damn I went through some rewrites when season 2b dropped). I'll consider dropping the script too, so you guys can see the actual lines I wrote for each part, but that's a big "if".

Don't get me wrong, I'll still be active (probably more active than I have been in the past few months LMAOOOO). I'm just shifting this AU story away from a comic medium and into a Tumblr AU medium, like how a lot of the TOH aus are at the moment. I want to tell this story and give you guys content, and if i have to do it without the art medium then I will.

I am so grateful you guys have stuck around. The compliments on this comic – my art, the story, literally everything – mean everything to me. I hope you guys like the Tag Team synopsis when I post it.

Boiling Isles Civil War?

Okay, first of, this is not a prediction for anything that will happen in the Owl House finale. Tbh I fully expect the show to gloss over all of this (if we even get an epilogue).

But when the show ends, the Boiling Isles won't have an Emperor anymore. And the whole organization that upheld this empire, the Emperor's Coven, will have lost the support of its citizens and most of its members.

So it really feels like this can only end with the empire (at least temporarily) dissolving into smaller independent countries and city-states. (We do have "New Hexside" already).

"But why wouldn't they just stay together?" I mean it's pretty clear that the people of the Boiling Isles will have to make some big changes to their laws and legal systems, given that those were mostly introduced and upheld by the E.C. and the Coven System. And that will lead to different political camps forming.

We also saw the cultural differences between Bonesborough and Latissa, and know there are extreme rivalries between schools. So there will be disagreements about how to structure their new governments, how to make political decisions and what changes to the law are necessary.

Now, maybe they just agree to disagree and each do their own thing for now. That's probably the best case scenario.

But with people like Kikimora and Odalia around, people that would happily burn down the world to get what they want, some kind of civil war seems equally possible.

We might even have some remnants of the "Emperor's Coven", people that feel everything was better under Belos, that ignore or downplay all the harm he did and try to rebuild his coven system.

Again, I do not believe that this will happen in canon, simply because it's a kids show and they need to wrap up things quickly.

I'm just saying that this would be a very believable continuation of the events in the Owl House.

Frothing at the mouth okay everyone I’m mostly speaking to myself but we need to put the Caleb and Golden Guards down for two seconds because oh jesus christ on a cracker do you understand how much content we can write now. In just two forty-five minute episodes do you understand how much we could create.

Look at the first ten minutes of Thanks to Them. Look at literally everything that happened off-screen in For the Future. Do you understand. This is not a tragedy but a silver platter of unfathomable proportions of writing material. We never got to see all those episodes of the kids learning to adjust to the human realm. We never got to see all those episodes of the Boiling Isles crumbling apart and people getting turned into puppets. I’m 95% certain we were never supposed to know the full story behind Caleb or the Guards, and so there’s physically nothing to miss. What could we possibly write, knowing the creators likely never had the intention of it being written in the first place?

But everything else? Oh baby that’s a GOLDMINE of content right there. There is no canon, therefore we can craft it with our own two hands. Do you see it. Everything we ever wanted the kids to do in the human realm, we can now create it, and canon cannot tell us it didn’t happen like that. Everything we thought would happen in the demon realm we can create, because canon cannot tell us it didn’t. We can write what didn’t get the chance to be completed. We can shape it. We can literally make our own canon. I’m going to start biting the wall

Do you ever get the feeling that while she was writing “The Owl House”, Dana Terrace had a clear idea at almost all times about what kind of story she wanted to tell and why she wanted the show to be about at its core, while Nate Stevenson didn’t have much idea what he wanted to do with “SPOP” other than “Something something Catradora Canon…something something venting my Evangelical religious trauma…something something I’ll figure out the rest eventually”?

hmm. i do think dana terrace had a clear idea at first but i wouldn't say she carried it out well either. excuse me while i go on a rant.

the owl house was definitely a lot better than spop but i still think dana lost sight of her show towards the end. belos starts off as a really strong villain with complex motives and an intriguing backstory. he was a very compelling character up until s03e01. but then, in the finale, they just did a 180 and made him the "pure evil big bad". that just didn't sit right with me. i don't mean to say i wanted him to have a redemption arc, i just think he deserved a more climatic ending. the thing that king's parent told luz completely contradicts belos's character. he literally sacrificed his own health for his beliefs, calling him self-centered and evil is downplaying his entire purpose and character. yes, he was a terrible person who wanted to commit mass genocide but since he was heavily implied to be a victim of religious trauma, labelling him as simply Evil™ feels very lazy.

not to mention, the final season focused more on useless subplots than the actual story. i know many people would disagree with me but huntlow was rushed and counterproductive to both hunter's and willow's arcs, the whole hexside and kikimora subplot was unnecessary and boring, and luz suddenly getting titan powers in the end undercuts her entire arc of choosing her own destiny. "but papa titan gave her a choice!" no he didn't. he might have said that but luz was literally dead. her only option was to accept the titan powers if she wanted to live and also save everyone else. it wasn't a difficult decision, it was her only choice. what was she supposed to do, just chill in the afterlife with papa titan?

so yeah, while i don't think toh messed up quite as much as spop did, i can't say it was flawless. i get it, the show was cancelled, yada yada. but that's not an excuse and if you want to know why i don't consider that an excuse, check this post.
