You started dating rodrick before you came out/realised you were trans. When you did tell him, he was confused, but supportive.

He let you use his clothes, would take you shopping, would help you cut your hair, and started calling you masc nicknames like handsome, pretty boy, etc.

Starting testosterone was interesting, as your body started to change, rodrick was still completely and utterly in love with you, even when you felt dysphoria, he saw you as his light.

Of course, you couldn’t get surgery yet, which sucked, but still, rodrick was gonna make you feel like the most handsome man alive as he ate you out.

A level of trans/cis solidarity I've never experienced before was met by my hair stylist this week. She's been my hair stylist for 9 years now, and as a christian woman in her 50s there are some things I never really expected her to get, but when we were discussing how my parents reacted to me coming out, she asked about medical transition. I told her I'm really excited to get on hormones next year, and she started telling me all about HER experiences taking testosterone for her own hormonal imbalance after menopause! not only the sweat and the acne, but she told me that she was experiencing bottom growth (in her own vague terms, heaven forbid we talk about vulvas in public).

As a community, I think it's really easy for transmascs to feel isolated from their mothers, or any matriarch, but I was so happy to see an adult woman dealing with changes with her body and knowing that I knew exactly what she's going through. We need more solidarity between trans dudes and cis women on testosterone, because I had never felt safer discussing my desires and concerns with a cis woman before

journaling media: being a trans guy & watching derry girls

as a transman, i think i have a unique connection with the trope of the boy who's 'one of the girls', as of right now, james maguire from derry girls or is coming to mind. allan from barbie is an honourable mention.

i would attribute a lot of it to the gendered socialisation of primary school students, and previously being literally one of the girls and that changing in high school [i am still in high school]. going to a school that has preschool all the way up to grade 12 in a single building means that carries over.

i would like to say, i do have friends that are fellow boys, just as james does but like james, my three closest friends [we're a group of four, not five] are girls, and that's partly due to what i mentioned before, and partly because girls are great.

and so, when they call me 'one of the girls' it comes with a new understanding, because it's not to invalidate who i am [because on the whole, they are supportive], but rather to accept me.

i am boy, who is quite often, one of the girls.
