Multnomah Falls was absolutely epic! Featured in Twilight when Edward & Bella are heading to play baseball.

I dreamed that the Wolf Pack and Cullens were playing baseball together, and the vampires had to be in this canyon-type thing as a handicap. Jacob was saying something about wearing a strongly scented lotion and farting a lot since they weren't able to smell him to complain, and Emmett shouted, "We can hear it!" Someone else pointed out that they could hear his digestive system and knew when he needed to pass gas anyway 🤣

I watched Twilight again today for shits and grins and I unironically love the baseball scene. It's such a ridiculous and absurd premise and I LOVE IT. It's so much fun to watch too like?? People with super strength and speed playing baseball? Hell yeah!
I need a show that features a vampire baseball team. Better yet, make it a supernatural baseball league. Where you've got vampires, werewolves, zombies, demons, angels, goblins, ghouls, ogres, etc all playing professional baseball together.
Imagine werewolf turning into a wolf in the outfield to catch the ball, and sprinting after the batter. Imagine a vampire turning into a bat to evade being tagged by the ball, only for a zombie player to detach their hand to throw it at them and knock them out of the air. Imagine a demon player phasing between dimensions to get from base to base. Imagine vampires being given rats instead of Gatorades during practice.
It would be SO MUCH FUN! Just some ridiculous baseball show with supernatural creatures as players, following the story of the underdog team rising to the top.
I might draw concepts later if I have the time. Probably won't do much with them since I'm busy writing The Calamity Sequence, but who knows! Might return to this idea some day and make a silly baseball story.

In my first time phase discussing twilight even though it's been ages ago and everyone's already debated everything...
I still don't get the appeal of baseball to vampires.
Not just the cullens..i don't know why all of them would like it in the first place, but the sport being liked universally even by the nomadic James and Victoria... did they stop in their killing spree throughout the years to learn to play the game? Coming out of the woods to buy a ticket to watch a match?
Why baseball??
Also only once it's thunder, now is the time! It's always the time? You live surrounded by trees and no home near yours?
"The thunder overpowers the sound the hit of the bat makes against the ball." Sounds don't just turn louder because a vampire is playing... it will still be the same sound?! Also maybe the blow will split the bat or ball but that seems to be no problem...
The only thing is no one goes outside in this kinda weather... so they're aren't seen dashing through the field, but they do that in good weather anyway.
It is absolutely such a weird thing to put in the story. It's also weird it gets a whole scene, no not the importance of James and co. showing up, but the fact they get attracted to come out of hiding to play sports!! It is so silly.
The movie, the one good thing about it was the song, but i thought it was all so dumb and out of character.
And Alice with that leg up, like she's trying to get the best modelling picture (what was the purpose of that? That's more a ballet move and not a power move to throw the ball better! ). Either play or get out. This isn't normal.
"They are vampires!" If this is what they need to do to stand out..i don't know, maybe you're writing them wrong. Baseball, leg throw, vampire league... none of it.
This was really one thing in twilight (well, one thing...) that bothers me. I don't like it, i don't care for it and it is for me un-amusingly unfunny.
Bonus rant with visuals:
Tumblr media
She could have just thrown!!
Tumblr media
Somehow louder sound than thunder! Must be a vampire bat!
Tumblr media
"Hey bella since you suck at all sports, why don't you make the decision here, i'm sure you know all the rules! "
Tumblr media
No way Rosalie wouldn't have snapped that human neck.
Tumblr media
This is not all twilight but it made me laugh.

I think that, for a lot of her life, Bonnie is very much unaware that the world is not a fun game. (EDIT: more accurate phrasing might be “that a fun game is not the world.”) I think she puts a lot of unconscious and semi-conscious effort into avoiding reality for her own safety and sanity, but I don’t think she actually tries to use others as pawns. She’s very isolated emotionally speaking (as in she is around a lot of people but rarely makes deep connections with them) and struggles with empathy. She makes things a certain way, it keeps her and her loved ones (okay mostly Neddy) safe, so she sees no reason to change it, even if/when she’s unhappy. This bitch was born with a certain amount of understanding of the living world and how to interact with it, and for a long time, she had no reason to doubt that that was all there was to it. She was a child (emotionally and socially and experientially) who thought she was a grownup simply because she was smart and capable of keeping herself and her brother alive and him content. While Marceline’s emotional growth was stunted at a hugely volatile stage, Bonnie’s was nipped in the bud— in the root, really.
When the loneliness of being a child with adult priorities started to weigh on her, she used a picture of a happy family and the ruins of their home as her entire blueprint for interpersonal relationships. These people are grownups, so they will take care of me. That’s how it works because I read that somewhere.
Can you imagine the shock she must have felt when she first met Finn and Jake? Jake lets his baby brother play with swords and go on dangerous quests, sometimes even on his own?? Can you imagine, then, what Jake must have told her? Finn is a scrappy kid who will play outside in this fucked up world no matter what we do. He’s safer with the ability to defend himself than he would be if he never faced danger. He’s not much like Neddy. Not all people who fill the same roles are much like each other (still a relatively unfamiliar concept to her). Finn loves fairytale stories and grandeur and helping people— he’s like Bonnie. So yes, she will play knight and princess with him, because it keeps them both safe, and because it’s fun! It’s her chance to be kind of like a kid, and there are even some threats (IK) that are easy to delegate because they won’t hurt Finn the way they hurt her! But she’ll also protect him, even if it’s just by allowing him to train and sending him on missions she knows he can handle. Even if her protection hurts him and/or other people.
You’re fighting the knight, you’re seeking the dragon’s hoard, you’re trying to vanquish the demon. You don’t stand a fucking chance with the princess watching you, because unlike them, she’s not worried about being consistent or happy or good. She doesn’t even know what good is.

I've seen a few older players who really don't like Durge, and I expected to be one of them tbh. But their whole "living weapon" thing, the identity crisis of being artificial and having no connections outside of Bhaal, and being a reaction to/foil to Charname grew on me. I was going to play Durge regardless (I wanted to play a bloody Bhaalist before they took the cleric option out, and I certainly wasn't going to complain about playing a Bhaalspawn and being able to explore it differently to Charname's story - but I assumed I was going to have to headcanon in a different backstory). But I love my little edgelord dearly and won't trade him for the world.
I do tone down Durge's "uniqueness" though. From observation, they're not inherently different to other Bhaalspawn in any way that actually matters anyway, simply raised in unique circumstances compared to their siblings (carrying more divine essence and receiving Daddy's full attention and control now that there's nobody left to share these things with).
