This is Naye, another OC from the same project as Youmi. Just like Youmi, they've been around since the beginning, so literal decades. But they've undergone a lot of evolutions as I've tinkered with the project on and off for years now. For starters, they weren't always non-binary.
I'm really excited for this version of Naye. I hope I'm able to tell their story sooner than later.

thoughts on iterators and divinity. disclaimer it is after midnight and I am copy pasting this directly from a crazed discord dm ramble, so . it probably has a lot of repeating myself and general incomprehensibility in there. I’ve got my tinfoil hat on and everything
anyway me when. me when . “Godlike in comparison.” me when iterators. manmade gods trapped in cages of their own flesh. so completely powerless that they cannot be divine. so unfathomably powerful that they cannot be anything less an iterator is not a god and yet they are the size of mountains, and yet they level the land and fundamentally transform the environments around them an iterator is not a god and yet they know and see and hear and do more than we can ever comprehend, every thought that we can ever have in our lifespans can be ruminated on at length by an iterator over the span of a week, at most. more likely a day an iterator is not a god and yet they have an avatar and yet they decide the life and death of every thing within its domain and yet the only thing that can kill one is another, and time. and both are an incomprehensible feat. (and yet their death is inevitable, for they are no more immune to time than us)
but they operate and exist solely within the bounds set for them but they have no power beyond their concrete, limited domains but they cannot move or see or live in any way that we can define but even the escape, the ascension they were created to provide is completely beyond them by design
an iterator is not a god!!! but!!! they were made to resemble gods and act as gods to the world below. they are Gifts to the World made to enlighten it and bring it to ascension. they are beyond mortal comprehension. if that is not divinity, then what is? yes there are forces greater than them. obviously. but even the most fallible, the most innocent, the most shortsighted and impotent of deities is still a deity
an iterator is not a god. we have caught a glimpse of what might be the “gods” of rain world and they all dwell below, far below the iterators’ domains. but they were made in the likeness of gods and a facsimile resembles what it was made after does a being (however artificial) made in the image of the divine not inherit divinity?
like the ancients didnt make them to ascend themselves. they had the void fluid and clearly that was good enough for them. the ancients made them to enlighten and ascend the entire world in their wake even if they failed and were always going to fail because by definition that is a fundamentally impossible task, is being created for such a purpose not grounds for divinity in its own right?
how ironic that they are incapable of ascension. how cruel.

[Treebark week] Day 7 - Past
[Martyn] Statement of Ren Diggity Dog and Martyn InTheLittleWood, regarding their shared domain. Statement taken directly from subjects erm- it was July 22nd, 2022 before the world went to hell. Audio recording by former Archivist, Martyn.
(Takes place after day 5 but before day 6)
Word count: 2022
[Click]
(Barking from a small dog)
[Ren] What is it, Obi?
(Pause)
Uhh... Martyn! Martyn, there's a problem!
[Martyn] (Distant) What? What's wrong?
(Footsteps)
[Ren] Would you rather I tell you or drop it in your hands?
[Martyn] If it's anything like the last thing you put in my hands, no thanks. Not a huge fan of fangs in my cookies Ren Dog.
[Ren] (Laughter) Dude, I couldn't see them! Sunglasses, remember?
[Martyn] Don't lie to me, Ren. You knew exactly what you were doing.
[Ren] No matter, you're getting distracted! Here, just- just listen.
(Silence filled by the gentle sound of a tape recorder turning)
(There's static for only a moment)
[Martyn] Is that...
[Ren] Yeah...
[Martyn] I hate these things...
[Ren] Should we give it a statement?
[Martyn] Oh man, it's been a while since I've done that. I don't know Ren...
[Ren] Maybe it'll help. Especially since you can't give me nightmares about it anymore. The recorder wouldn't be here if it wasn't important, right?
[Martyn] I guess so... I don't think my connection to The Eye is strong enough to compel so if you start to ramble like you always do, it's not my fault.
[Ren] (Laughter) That's fine, dude. Now say your archivist words.
[Martyn] Oh geez, you're really putting me on the spot- alright.
Statement of Ren Diggity Dog and Martyn InTheLittleWood, regarding their shared domain. Statement taken directly from subjects erm- it was July 22nd, 2022 before the world went to hell. Audio recording by former Archivist, Martyn.
[Ren] Shall I start?
[Martyn] If you want.
[Ren(Statement)]
When I woke up the day everything changed, I couldn't see anything.
At first, I thought you were just doing something in the other room so I wasn't scared. I never am. Whatever you do with The Dark is not really my business. So I just ignored it, and tried to go back to sleep. I heard creeks in the floor and distant screaming in the hall but that was pretty normal for your rituals. Nothing I hadn't slept through before.
I did find it strange that it was happening in what would have been early morning. You would think for an entity called "The Dark" I expected to only see you do that stuff in the dead of midnight. But I wasn't going to question it. Not when your circumstance was so... unique.
I hadn't realized something was wrong until I started to get this strange sense crawling up the back of my neck. A familiar shiver. It was the same feeling I used to get when you were head archivist. When you would listen to every detail, observing.
It shocked me to my very core, pulling me out of my bed to look for answers. Something was very wrong and I wasn't just going to sit there and let it happen. On the way through the hall, I tripped on pretty much everything in our apartment. It's really annoying how much junk you leave on the floor, y'know? Despite the mess, I found your room eventually.
I don't know how to explain it, but your room felt darker somehow. The entire place was engulfed in a pitch black but your room... it wasn't just blocking out the light. Your room was absorbing and extinguishing it.
I called your name into the empty room but you weren't there.
In that moment, I was hoping that if I couldn't find you, I could at least find whatever was making me feel like your ghost was haunting me. Because I knew it was you. Or at least related to you? The bizarre mix of darkness and watching was just too similar to be anything else. So I started looking through your things.
And for the record, Martyn has the messiest room I've ever had the displeasure of searching through. Even if there was something I could have found in there, I don't think I could have in the void we like to call Martyn's room. I tripped on discarded laundry, ritual junk he just refuses to put away, and a ton of anime books he can't even read anymore!
[Martyn] First of all, it's called manga.
[Ren] Whatever it is, you need to clean it off your floor!
[Martyn] And for the record, I bought them before I lost my eyesight so I don't see the issue. Pun intended.
[Ren] For the record, I'm rolling my eyes.
[Martyn] For the record, you're getting off-topic. You can complain about my organizational skills once The Eye- or whoever is sending these tapes- is satisfied with our statement.
[Ren] Well, if I must continue I'll do it... for the record.
[Martyn] (Laugh) Get on with it.
[Ren] (Laugh) Alright, Someone’s impatient.
I didn't find anything. But the longer I searched, the terror itching under my skin started to grow stronger. At some point, I stopped looking for whatever was causing the darkness and instead started looking for you. Or well, any sign to tell me where you went. Or that you were still alive. It took a while, but I found a single piece of long fabric I immediately recognized as your bandana.
Now, I know you hate it when I use my abilities to track you down. Something about really hating feeling like prey. But in my defence, I hate being left in the dark and I was really starting to panic. You never go out without your bandana. So I thought it might have been a cry for help. Something you left behind for me to find and use to hunt you down.
In some cases, I'm glad you left it. Though, in the moment, I was pretty peeved I had to find my way out of our apartment completely blind.
[Martyn] Oh no, how tragic for you.
[Ren] I’m choosing to Ignore Martyn's sarcasm.
The darkness stretched out into the complex hallways and stairways. I swear if I closed my eyes, nothing would change. It was all black anyway. Keeping a hand on the wall and walking slowly helped keep me on a steady and calm path. Yet, I felt something sink into the pit of my stomach when I reached the stairs. The anxiety of falling down with no one around to hear was creeping into my mind. But it was nothing compared to the ever-growing terror of losing someone special to me. So I pressed on.
[Martyn] Aww, Ren, that's really sweet of you to say to me.
[Ren] I was talking about Obi, dude.
[Martyn] I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that.
[Ren] Your thing is literally listening!
[Martyn] Do you hear that Obi? I think it's the sound of a huge liar.
[Ren] Said the biggest liar on the planet.
[Martyn] How dare you-
[Ren] How dare you interrupt my statement, again.
[Martyn] For your information, it's actually our statement. Not just yours.
[Ren] Then why don't you tell the friendly tape where you'd been when the freaking apocalypse started, hm? I'm sure you'd love that.
[Martyn] Actually- it's okay, please continue.
[Ren] Thank you.
Climbing down the stairs was rather stressful but otherwise simple and easy. I was worried for a moment that they might go forever. That I had been the unlucky guy to get stuck with at least 3 entities messing with him at once.
But I could feel The Hunt dragging me closer to the mark. The target's scent danced in the air and I felt their fear along with it. At that point, I had forgotten who the target was and just found myself getting lost in the adrenaline of another hunt. Something more familiar to drag me out of the dark.
A foolish part of me expected it to be brighter once I stepped outside. I wanted to feel the sun on my face and in my fur. But when I desperately busted out of the apartment complex, all I felt was the taste of something rotten in the air slowly getting closer and choking itself in my lungs. The sound of a howling wind without an actual breeze to accompany it.
When I stared up into the sky, it stared back.
But I found you. In the middle of the street, staring straight into the pupil of it. You were trapped in some sort of trance, speaking into the sky as if the eye was listening to you. You just kept talking. Words about misery and destruction spilling out of your mouth, unending.
When you stopped, you silently slipped a pair of sunglasses onto my face and everything returned to normal. At least, it looked normal. I had trouble adjusting to the light of the sun at first. But our street looked the same as it always had. The sky was actually quite beautiful.
You said something about everything being okay before taking me back to our apartment.
I still don't... I still don't understand what happened. Or what is happening. I still feel like I'm being watched. A shiver constantly on the back of my neck. I've just been... trying to ignore it.
(Static)
[Martyn(Statement)]
The Archivist calls it The Age of the Beholding. I call it The End of All.
An entire change to reality itself along with all who inhabit it and brings nothing but inevitable destruction. A playground and slaughterhouse for those we can not comprehend. Listen close to the howls of agony on the breeze and helplessly behold as people crawl and scrape and dig for an ounce of freedom.
But of course, you can't see it, can you?
There's no need to survive here as whatever watches over our suffering ensures we don't die. Not really. Some may find themselves lucky, placed within a domain where it comes to an end, as all things do. But not us. We, among most others, will be kept alive to be feasted on within our domains. Our fear fuelling their ever-expanding hunger.
But what's there to be afraid of? I have you and you have me. There's laughter and joy within our walls so there's no need to look beyond the curtains. It's safe here, of course.
I moved hell and Earth to protect my partner. A pair of sunglasses keeping him blissfully ignorant of the world outside. Unaware our gardens are made of blood and bone. Our home is shrouded in the black of night today but I keep it at bay. He'll never know what crawls under our floorboards and in our walls.
But he knows I'm hiding something from him.
"It's better this way," I say.
Neither of us can see the amalgamation of our abilities stalking the halls. A monster of our own creation, our predator. The shadowy hulk hunting the both of us but in turn can't see us either. But I know you hear it too. It snarls and growls deep in what we pretend is night. Feel it breathing heavily down on the back of your head.
Yet we ignore it. Keep your eyes closed and discard them. I couldn't stop the apocalypse so pay it no mind. I can't fix the world so let me keep the one we made.
This is what comfort feels like, right? Or perhaps it's just been long since either of us has felt a sense of true Solace. The fear of losing what we've made, of losing each other, is ever-present. Preventing us from ever feeling truly at ease. It's only a matter of time.
After all, this is our domain. We are both the creators and it's only prisoners.
(Static fades)
[Ren] Martyn? You there my dude?
[Martyn] I'm... I'm sorry, what happened?
[Ren] What happened is you scared the living heck out of me!
[Martyn] Oh geez, did I space out again?
[Ren] Yes! Started talking non-stop and I couldn't pull you out of it.
[Martyn] I'm sorry man, if I could stop it, I would.
(pause)
You still can't hear a word I'm saying when I do that, right?
[Ren] Not a word. It's incredibly creepy, dude.
[Martyn] That's good. It's better this way.

Midnight Mourning: Lady Death's Resplendent Rhapsody by Jade Gretz
Lady Death, cloaked in obsidian silk and wielding the chilling caress of Deathbringer, stood at the apex of the Howling Spire, a jagged mountain peak that sliced through the storm-churned skies of her domain. The wind, laced with the icy breath of oblivion, whipped around her ebony tresses, and her crimson eyes scanned the desolate landscape below. But her gaze wasn't drawn to the skeletal trees groaning in the gale or the ghostly wisps swirling between them. She sought a different kind of darkness, a darkness woven into sound, a darkness that slithered into the soul through the ear.
Whispers had reached her of a cursed melody, a composition penned by a mad bard who had bartered his sanity for a glimpse of the infernal. This "Symphony of Desolation," as it was ominously called, was said to bind the souls of those who heard it, trapping them in an infinite loop of despair, fuel for the bard's twisted immortality. It was a challenge – a macabre symphony vying for dominion over the souls within Death's own realm.
Intrigued, Lady Death descended, her every step echoing with the power of the afterlife. She followed the whispers, their tendrils leading her to a crumbling fortress, its stones stained with the ichor of untold suffering. Inside, amidst dust-laden portraits of forgotten horrors, she found him – the bard, gaunt and hollow-eyed, his fingers hovering over a shattered lute.
He played, the notes bleeding from the broken instrument like tortured screams. It was a melody that defied description, a discordant tapestry of agony and madness. Each note resonated with a primal fear, clawing at Death's very essence.
She should have slain him there, banished the cursed music to the oblivion it belonged to. But something held her back – a morbid fascination, a curiosity akin to smelling a decaying rose. As the music swelled, visions assailed her - souls trapped in an endless void, their screams echoing endlessly. It was a glimpse into her own domain, but twisted, corrupted by the bard's malevolent intent.
The bard, sensing her presence, cackled, his voice a dry …(see the rest of the story at deviantart.com/jadegretzAI). For more supergirl, chun li, batgirl, tifa, lara croft, wonder woman, rogue and much more, please visit my page at www.deviantart.com/jadegretzai - Thanks for your support :)

[ID: Three creatures depicted together, above them are labels that say 'Midnight Sky', 'Stone Teller', and 'Soul Devourer'. Midnight Sky is a starry badger with markings resembling the northern lights, golden eyes, and a moon on her forehead. Stone Teller is a scrawny hairless cat with rock-like spines along his back, green eyes, and the planet earth on his forehead. Soul Devourer is a tall and spindly reddish-orange lion-like cat with a pitch black mane and tufted tail, golden eyes, and an eclipse on his forehead. End ID.]
Three beings are known throughout the Sky Islands. The beings that created this land, the beings that have molded it to their will, the beings that have influenced and guided cats since the beginning. The beings all so different, except for their shared name...
The Three Immortals
When the Star Plane materialized, these three were formed with it. Since before even the Dawn of the Clans, they have affected the lives of mortals, whether it be Midnight Sky's prophecies, Stone Teller's imparting of knowledge, or Soul Devourer's pure destruction. These three can be called upon using their true names, which remain unknown except to those who search. But just who are these immortals?
(more under the cut)
Tumblr media
[ID: Three beings depicted together. The first one is a white orb that glows a bright blue; this orb is a star seen close up. The second is the vague form of a white cat, glowing a piercing golden with golden eyes. The final one is a black hole with swirling reds and oranges surrounding it. End ID.]
Midnight Sky
Aka: Midnight, The Stars, Sky, Moon
Midnight Sky, the kindest of the three, oversees the starry skies of her domain. She created the stars for all creatures of the Star Plane to enjoy, as well as all herbs found on the Sky Islands.
Midnight Sky is the one to invoke when you're looking for a prophecy. She will send a StarClan envoy to relay information, often a cat close to the invoker.
Her dream form is a starry badger, and her most common physical forms are a badger, raven, or a deer.
Her alignment is good, she represents the sky and future, and she parallels herbalists.
Stone Teller
Aka: Rock, The Tree, Earth, Seasons
Stone Teller, the mediator of the three, oversees the earth and life of his domain. He created all living creatures of the Star Plane, as well as all the plants the Clans have incorporated into their diet.
Stone Teller is the one to invoke when you're looking for knowledge. He often sends a vision of the past pertaining to what you want.
His dream form is an earthen cat, and his most common physical forms are a hairless cat, owl, or a squirrel.
His alignment is neutral, he represents the earth and past, and he parallels mediators.
Soul Devourer
Aka: Sol, The Abyss, Void, Sun
Soul Devourer, the most chaotic of the three, dwells in the darkness of the abyss. He created the Starless Forest, as well as the black holes that cats' stars can become.
Soul Devourer is the one to invoke when you're looking for war. He's always willing to lend a blessing if it means another soul in his domain to feed on.
His dream form is an abyssal lion, and his most common physical forms are a lion (as cats know them) or cougar, a hawk, or a coyote.
His alignment is evil, he represents the abyss and present, and he parallels warriors.

Kirby reference The Midnight Soirée chapter 1 & 2
This is Kirby in full! Usually, I would do a full rotation, but I'm too lazy. Unless the other side profile differs greatly, I will keep doing only one side profile for every reference I post.
Fluff 1-5
A warning for minor spoilers for The Midnight Soirée.
Colour Pallete:
Although saturated, Kirby's palette is colourful and uses all colours on the colour wheel except for purple and orange (well, the blue in his eyes is slightly purple and brown is desaturated orange). Kirby is a colourful character; I want to convey that in their colour palette. I had to use grey for the trousers to naturalise the other colours, but I'm pretty happy with it even though it took me a long time to find the right colours to use. Kirby's colour palette is more suited for the natural life on earth than Fluff's reference (which you can see in the preview I posted), as Fluff's colours are much more saturated and benefiting of a supernatural creature whose domain is in the void.
The boots and gloves are red to match each other, but also because I am a sucker for Kirby's iconic red shoe look, I wanted to keep that fun detail in his human form. The gloves/gauntlets were a gift from Meta Knight gift before they embarked on their journey. They are red because Meta Knight used Duke Dedede's favourite colour. As are the boots Bandana Dee gave to match the gloves as Meta Knight and Bandana Dee coordinated their gifts. Duke Dedede chose a blue cloak to represent both Meta Knight and Bandana Dee as they are associated with the colour blue (dark blue for Meta Knight and sky blue for Bandana Dee)
(*More on the cape in the next reference)
(**More on the tunic itself on the reference - sans cape)
Instead, like Meta Knight did by stamping his sigil on Kirby's gloves, Duke Dedede gave Kirby a belt buckle with his emblem. It is subtler than his original plan of emblazing his logo on the back of Kirby's cape. As cool as it would have been, as Kirby laments in Chapter 2 of MS - it would have been too eye-catching and drawn highwaymen to Kirby, who needs to keep a low cover if they want to explore the continent of Popstar without being bothered every turn.
Kirby's clothes are dirty, and doing upkeep on his clothes is difficult while travelling. But they are not super filthy, as Kirby has not travelled that far from Sunset Mountain Range. They are a week away on horseback from the infamous southern mountains of the country of Dreamland. Although Kirby has been taking the scenic route stopping by all the sights and staying at every village to get to know the world beyond the mountain he grew up in. (Well, he was born at the base and only started living at the summit with Dedede, Bandana and Meta after a good while of being friends)
Tumblr media
Hood up! Kirby and * more information about the cape. The rabbit fur is missing some strands because of Kirby's rough travelling style and habit of getting into fights. The fur comes from the rabbits' Sunset Mountain is famous for as Dedede's dukedom handles livestock and its savoury cuisine. (They know how to throw a good potluck). It is customary in Southern Dreamland to sew a travelling gift with this rabbit fur for luck in one's travels. Duke Dedede personally caught the rabbit, skinned it and made a parting dinner with it to wish Kirby safe travels, as the gift would be moot if he did not prepare the rabbit himself.
You can see a subtle star design on Kirby's back with the hood up. The whole cloak represents Kirby's name and connection to the stars. Kirby's full name is Kirby From the Stars/de las Estrellas (the latter is a surname Meta Knight gifted Kirby to protect them from human society and from the Nightly Folk). A nickname that transformed from 'Kirby Godess gifted' to 'Kirby Godess's gift', 'Kirby Starbright' all the way to' child descended from the star' as Kirby's actions proceeded him. Dedede commissioned this cape in Kirby's honour to call back to their first meeting and the amount of effort and work it took for them to become friends/family. Kirby's greatest treasures are the three gifts from his friends (cloak, gloves and boots).
Tumblr media
Dirtless! Kirby. This is after Kirby landed in Underhill. Fluff repaired his cape and polished his shoes and gloves. Other than that, there is not much to say. The patch to Kirby's trousers is left intact because Fluff thought it was a part of the outfit and not a literal patch-up job Kirby did because he tore his pants in the first week of travelling.
Tumblr media
**As you can see, without the cloak, Kirby lacks the colour blue (aside from his eyes). The green sweater contrasts the red of the boots and gloves, and the yellow contrasts all the blue shades. As for why the tunic is split colour - it is because originally, the tunic was entirely yellow. But that didn't fit Kirby, plus I wanted Kirby to have pink on him as he wouldn't have pink hair as a human (yet). Since the cloak covers the tunic, it doesn't attract too much attention, and even then, a lot of peasant clothing had fun designs. As long as something doesn't look too fancy, Kirby won't be mistaken as a noble or servant of a noble.
I lovingly call this tunic the Strawberry Custard Tunic. Strawberry because pink for Kirby and the Custard for the yellow dye in relation to Keeby, with the original tunic colour being a reference to them. The tunic's design is inspired by the Hylian tunic from BOTW/TOTK. Which was probably obvious with the leather chest plate. The tassels bring out Kirby's playful side and help spread the pink/yellow across the whole tunic. One side is longer than the other simply to enhance the design a bit, as an even-cut hem is not Kirby's style. Even if I gave Kirby an even-hem, it would slit at the sides for more spatial movement. Kirby's earthen look isn't all that exciting, so the little details go a long way, like the sleeves of the outer tunic, which are flowy and stitched to create folds.
As Kirby bemoans, his tunic isn't very pretty or festive, so they were so tempted to wear the dresses in the closet in chapter one. It is a shame I never got to draw/write Kirby with a dress. Well, maybe next time. :)
Tumblr media
And finally, at the end of chapter 1, Kirby with the blue rose behind his ear. A blue rose symbolises mystery or attaining the impossible. They are notorious for their 'love at first sight' meaning, and as Fluff gave Kirby one thornless rose, this meaning is amplified as gifting one rose means 'you are the one/you are still the one' and a thornless one also means 'love at first sight'. So it's 'love at first sight' message is doubled. It also adds Fluff's blues to Kirby's palette and nicely matches Kirby's blue cloak.
Chapter 2
Tumblr media
Chapter 2 sees two major differences to Kirby. His hair change, and the sash Fluff gives them. The sash was neither a gift nor a deal because Fluff's sash tied Kirby to Fluff. This way, Fluff knew where Kirby was throughout the whole night. Once Kirby discarded the sash later in the fic, Fluff lost his ability to locate Kirby.
Fluff changed Kirby's hair pink as a part of a mini deal. Interestingly enough, the pink used for Kirby's hair is not Fluff's brand of pink but the same pink as Kirby's split tunic. It also fits them more than the blonde hair did. Though I am sure many people in their world would disagree with this statement. (The pink also fits the blue rose better. Though that might be my bias showing)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(A closer look comparing Kirby with their natural blonde hair and the pink hair Marquis Fluff magicked without the blue rose.)
I made Kirby blonde because it's the brightest colour next to pink, as I could not make Kirby pink-haired from the start. Pink hair on a human would be really suspicious. If Kirby had been born with pink hair despite being fully human, he would have been tossed into the woods, never to be seen again. Either mauled to death, succumbing to starvation/dehydration or taken in by one of the elusive fae this story is centred around. Now, Fae! Kirby would be a very interesting character to write about. But that is not for this story...
Kirby's dirty blonde hair (or pudding blonde, as I like to call it) makes the blue of his cape stand out more. If I had chosen brown hair, which is closer to pink and easier to make a gradient out of, it would have blended too much with the fur on the cloak. This worked back when Kirby's cloak was more on the green/cyan side. But that was before I made Kirby's cape and Fluff's tights match. (Though Kirby's hair does appear brown in low light/the dark)
I can also geek out about Kirby's eye colour with this close-up. Kirby's eyes have violet shading in this AU to bring in the colour purple to their palette and accentuate the blues. But also to differentiate this Kirby from canon Kirby as I paint puffball Kirby and Gijnka Kirby with green-blue eyes. Kirby's undertunic woollen sweater is already green, so it would have been too much green. Plus, I couldn't have it contrast with the pinks Kirby uses/is going to use. Blue/violet is a nice compromise as it is analogous to purple.
Tumblr media
And now the last touch - the flower crown Fluff weaved into Kirby's hair as Kirby took a nap. They are just a bunch of pink and white roses. Nothing sinister about it :) (I got a little lazy with them, but you get the gist)
Okay, but seriously. The meaning of white and pink roses is peculiar. On their own white roses represent loyalty, purity, and innocence. It is a popular wedding flower and can also mean: eternal love and a brand new start. Pink Roses mean grace and sweetness. Other interpretations include; gentleness, appreciation, joy, thankfulness, and elegance. Pink and white roses are used in anniversaries, graduations or as wedding gifts.
Combined, the Blue rose, pink and white roses mean: "Love at first sight, pure/gentle and graceful/elegant person - I attained the impossible/mystery, and I am thankful for this joy/new beginning you bestowed upon me."
And so, in the end, Fluff's magenta and blue shades have been added to Kirby's colour palette. More of Kirby's references follow after Fluff's turn with his early chapters appearances.
Thank you so much for making it to the end of my design notes. Until next time. ♪(^∇^*)ブ
(Don't be afraid to ask questions about this AU. I am all too happy to answer them)

--
It was clear to anyone with working vision that the Moon God had put so much care into his creations. The moon he held divine power over was bright, yet comforting, allowing travelers and lovers and critters to have light during their midnight escapades. The differing shapes of the stars provided direction and comfort for sailors far onto the ocean, always reminding them that home was never too far away. Providing beauty for artists across the globe to capture and share. The love and dedication he placed into his night sky so that humanity was benefiting from every part of it was admirable, something many others could use to better help humanity..
And they adored the night he made and lives he touched.
They were addicted to the feelings the night brought. How everything seemed to quiet down and rest, allowing themselves a few moments of respite from a turbulent life. The faces of children and old dreaming of a better tomorrow. The crisp and chilled air did wonders to cool down their face from the hot summer day. The lack of a glaring fireball brought a sense of calm to the world.
The night was peaceful. It was calming and beautiful and there was nothing they loved more than it.
Like always, their mind wandered to the man occupying their thoughts. Though, Vincent and Gavin would argue he lived comfortably in their very being. As much as they hate to prove the Love and Warmth Gods right, they wouldn’t be wrong. They can already hear their snickering from their domains.
What was once a fleeting feeling, a blink and you miss it moment, has turned into years of undying love for one man. It was indescribable how much they felt for the man, no poet would be able to quantify their feelings onto a page for others to understand.
Perhaps that was the nature of Gods. To love fiercely, loyally and endlessly because there was no end? No mortal can comprehend that and perhaps that would be for the best.
Are you asking if I’m a God? No, no, as I said before, I am simply an observer who resides in the void. I am neither mortal nor a God.
The idea of eternally devoted to one person is a horrifying thought to many, rightfully so, but it wasn’t as terrifying of a thought for them. To love only one is an impossible task for humans who have much shorter life spans, yet many hold multiple lovers dear. For a God who will live multiple human lives? To love only one seemed a way to damn someone to madness.
But there was no doubt in their soul that they could. There was an innate part of their divine heart that will forever love the moon. How could they not?
He was peaceful. He was calming and beautiful and there was nothing they loved more than him.

Specific and niche theories I have about the Are You Afraid of the Dark? reboot #1: Trauma theory
(Edited to fully explain Curse of the Shadows and Ghost Island instead of leaving the ideas half-realized)
Okay, so
Each season is a metaphor for or thematically connected to some kind of common trauma or something kids within the age demographic could relate to.
Let me explain.
After watching Carnival of Doom a few times, I interpreted it as a story about abuse and unearthing traumatic memories. Rachel assumed that her nightmares/night terrors were just really hyperspecific, even to the point of mentioning it in her own story almost offhandedly, until it actually came back to haunt her and she had what I could only describe as a precursor to a panic attack at the end of episode 1/beginning of episode 2. In episode 2, while the other midnight society members are generally threatened with their fears that one in each pair had said out loud in the carnival's perimeters, Rachel is almost fucking drowned in the tunnel of love halfway through talking about her emotions with a guy she trusts. Between her and Gavin, neither had mentioned their fears of anything similar during the episode unless Rachel's fear isn't as obvious. Mr. Tophat spends the entire story trying to isolate Rachel as much as possible from people she could easily trust, taking her first friend in a new town, her (probably) first love interest, the only adult that bothered to actively investigate everything, and all of her remaining friends in the climax of the last episode. The only reason she managed to win in the end was because she had friends that stood by her in her lowest moments. There's much more to this that I didn't write, but some of it relies on Freudian analysis of the scorpions and I don't know if that constitutes as valid evidence. It's also been a while since I watched all three episodes in succession.
I interpreted the theme/motif of Curse of the Shadows to be depression, but not obviously. Rather the effects it has on other people. Shadowman is literally a creature born of loss and deep sadness corrupted into a shadow that will kidnap children that enter his domain to fill the void of loss. In the first two episodes, Luke actively blames himself for Connor's disappearance in a way that's similar to how some people blame themselves for the effects of a friend or loved one's depression (taking from personal experience). The second half of the plot hinges on Connor becoming a literal shadow of himself, void of interest in anything other than making sure the rest of the midnight society suffer the effects of the curse (exemplified when Gabby proves Connor isn't who he says he is when he agrees to watch a zombie movie with the others, a genre that the real Connor isn't fond of). During episode 5, a majority of those who end up getting snatched by the shadows end up accepting their fate that they probably wouldn't make it out of there completely unscathed. It's their determination to break the curse that keeps their misery from trapping them. Their solution is to literally go back in time to keep the grief and sadness that caused the shadowman's existence from happening, leading to a literally better and brighter future. It was the midnight society's determination to help each other at their lowest points that lead to a better ending.
Ghost Island actually takes a lot from Curse of the Shadows, but seems to be more about grief and the grieving process. The plot hinges on the connection between Kayla and her dead twin sister Bella. Grief is also a prevalent plot point, whether it's the midnight society members and their feelings about Bella, Max grieving the loss of finding out he's no longer technically alive, Lucia's grief over her dead love kicking off the curse in the first place, or Bella having a conversation with Kayla in the mirror realm about grief and moving on before the climactic end of the series. Even the main villain of this season, Jonas Cutter himself, briefly feels regretful of betraying Lucia before shoving that feeling aside as he shoves Lucia back into room 13's bathroom mirror. The final scene also makes a poignant point, with all of the ghosts gathering around the midnight society's campfire as they tell their first story since Bella's passing and truly continuing both her and the group's legacy.
The point is I could easily make a video essay full of quotes specifically about how prevalent and important I find this theory, since we live in a world where it's becoming more mainstream for children within the show's age demographic to explore their own issues and traumas and talk about them.
Or this is just a fringe theory. I'm not really here to argue about its validity.

A late happy WBW! Are there any interesting fantasy species (plant or beast) in your world? Do any of them feature in the story? Alternatively, do your main characters have a favorite animal or plant (real or fictional)?
hello and how are you?
Happy Belated Worldbuilding Wednesday, beloved Apple! No worries about coming a bit late, it is totally fine! Thank you for the wonderful ask! c:
Let us gather the Wanderers and get down to business! We will be focusing the WIP, Marathon Runners for this one! And probably will end up rambling, but oh well. ( ̄y▽ ̄)╭
Content Tag List (ask to be added or removed) @a-completely-normal-writer | @aalinaaaaaa | @autumnalwalker | @bardic-tales | @emersonjydestein | @enchanted-lightning-aes | @fearofahumanplanet | @howsweetthewords |@jessica-writes22 | @junypr-camus | @lockejhaven | @midnights-melodiverse | @papercutsunset | @talesofsorrowandofruin
Are there any interesting fantasy species (plant or beast) in your world? Do any of them feature in the story?
Yes, to all of this, actually! Marathon Runners features both a very unique plant and beast within the stories, both of them coming into play in the timeline, for different reasons!
The first up is the Beast, which are known as Hellhounds! The Beasts are made up of metal, steam, and Alchemy. Woven together with the Woodwork of the Inscribers and given borrowed life by the Sigils of the Alchemists, the Hellhounds run on steam and blood. They are not so mindless as hellbent on doing the orders of those whose blood and Magicks run through their steam engines.
These Beasts are made by the Logicians of Ekios, in order to hunt down those deemed traitors or social chaotics, and the Beasts do come out early on in the story! They are chasing someone down, and luckily for him, the Hellhounds hold no power within Blasia. The Lands are protected from such devil dogs by the Guardian himself, Arachollow.
The person glances up, Ada trying to glance with them until a howl hits the air, freezing her blood. It does the same for the person, she can see it in the way their face grows whiter than their eyes. Like an animal, caught and cornered. She spits into their face, their eyes immediately snapping to look back at her and she tries to bleed her intentions through her eyes. Speaking is out the window, especially because she can already hear the steam spraying from the beasts, but they could still run. She could still run.
The second up is the Plant, which are called, Moonhollow Flowers, and these blooms hold unique properties when in the presence of Worldfarers and especially when touched/handled by those of Clarin(g)borne descent.
A sacred plant that is protected and housed within the Grand Night Botanical Garden on the edge of Brittlemore, the Moonhollow holds stories and myths within its petals. It is said that the flowers were formed from the tears of the Dragon of the Void, Bailrai, after the Ancient heard the cries of Arcahollow. Said to gift the Worldfarer with the Blessings of the Void and Worlds, they were how the Botanical Garden was made. It is said that the Garden itself was molded from the vines and roots of the flower, and that Arcahollow split the Lands of Ekios and Blasia with them.
She remembers the tiny tour that Lux was able to give her, notes every small word that he had breathed out, now back in his domain. "All of the flowers are wonderful, but you must wander to the roses. My Family found some without thorns; they twist as if they are a vine, climb as a weed, bloom as the most bountiful harvest of berries. They are known as Moonhollow blossoms. They are the founding flower. Apparently, the great Arcahollow gave rise to them. Some even call them the mark of the Worldfarers." She takes a small breath, catches the scent of rain and wind and something so otherworldly, it fits with its foundation. The flowers seem to jingle with that silent allure that Lux possesses. Ada would more think that they symbolize him, and his Family, than the entirety of the Beings of the Stars. She stops at the beginning of the vines, gently scoops up a branch that begs for its leaves to be held, letting herself drown in the scents of the Worlds and her person. Closes her eye for a beat and allows her soul to sink into the soul along with the flowers.
For your other question, Ada adores the Moonhollow blossoms! And Lux actually enjoys cats and NORMAL dogs. (≧∀≦)

Eōs: Data Dive Rhapsody aka Eōs: データ ダイブ ラプソディor Eōs: Dēta Daibu rapusodi
Forget angels, chumsters. Eos ain't no choir of choirboys in starched frocks. On Volans, a chrome-plated diamond in the velvet void, 7,000 years after interdimensional dust-ups with demonic creeps called Nephilim, shadows flicker beneath the neon hum. That's where Eos struts its stuff, a squad of cybernetic badasses forged in the fires of forgotten wars, kept ticking by the grease-stained hands and flirty banter of the hangar crew – a bunch of grease monkeys with more wrench than common sense.
The Vanguard:
Seraphina, the Blistering Angel: Hair like embers, wings like celestial plasma, and a blade, Excalibur, that sings a fiery dirge for fallen comrades. Vengeance simmers under her stoic shell, a reminder of the price for this neon peace. But under the armor, Maya, the head mechanic with a smile sharper than her tools, keeps Excalibur purring. Their late-night wrench sessions often devolve into boozy confessions, secrets sparking like welding torches, leaving both a little singed and a lot closer.
Gabriella, the Winged Wonder: Gentle hands wield wings that morph into a shimmering shield, a testament to the compassion that shines brighter than any laser blast. Her touch mends, be it human or the strange data creatures caught in the crossfire. When her circuits fry, there's Kai, the resident AI whiz with a twinkle in his eye and a diagnostic scan on his lips. Their digital flirtations leave virtual blushes on her cheeks, and who knows what code they might be swapping after dark.
Michael, the Iron Fist: Adamantium armor, silent power. A shield for the weak, a hammer for the wicked. Haunted by past choices, he seeks redemption in every blow, every life saved. But even the Iron Fist craves a break. Anya, the gruff welder with a heart of gold, offers a listening ear and a mug of grease-laced coffee, their shared silences speaking volumes, punctuated by the occasional burp and a wink.
Raphael, the Glitch Whisperer: Mischief dances in his eyes, holding secrets of the digital void. Fingers dance on interfaces, bending reality like origami dreams. His past, a shrouded puzzle, unfolds with each fold, each revelation a potential weapon. Navigating the digital realm is easy, but the complexities of human connection? Now that's a glitch he hasn't cracked. Luna, the shy engineer with a mind sharper than a photon blade, offers patient advice and understanding smiles, their budding friendship a beacon in the digital storm, and who knows, maybe a stolen byte or two in the data shadows.
The Enemy: The Nephilim, whispers echoing from the Data Dimension, a labyrinthine realm beyond human grasp. Information flows like a raging river, and they crave to merge it with Volans, unleashing a digital apocalypse as beautiful as it is deadly. Think glitching kittens trapped in a server farm gone rogue.
The Dive: A routine mission goes sideways faster than a greased bolt, revealing a hidden portal, a gateway to the Nephilim's digital domain. Eos plunges in, their cybernetic enhancements morphing into data-fueled expressions of their badassery. Fire becomes a comet, wings a shimmering barrier, strength a titan's fury, and code becomes Raphael's symphony, turning the enemy's weapons against them like a bunch of malfunctioning toasters.
Beyond the Glitch: This ain't just a data brawl, it's a soul-hack with more twists than a pretzel dipped in virtual reality. Seraphina fights fear of losing her team in this alien realm, finding solace in Maya's quiet support and the occasional shared bottle of space whiskey. Gabriella wrestles with the data creatures' plight, with Kai's playful encouragement keeping her spirits high, and who knows, maybe a midnight data-dive into his personal files for blackmail material (just kidding... mostly). Michael's stoicism cracks under the Data World's fluidity, but Anya's unwavering faith in him helps him adapt, and maybe a shared fist bump (or two) after a particularly gruesome glitch-squashing. Raphael's past claws at him, but Luna's gentle guidance offers a path towards healing, and maybe a stolen kiss under the flickering neon of a forgotten server room (don't tell Maya!).
Neon Symphony: This story ain't a hymn, it's a techno beat anthem about grit, sacrifice, and the messy power of human connection. It's about interdimensional chaos, the beauty and danger of the digital, and the blurry lines between friend and foe. It celebrates each character's unique quirks and demons, their growth as they battle not just the Nephi

This is Youmi Nakamori, an OC of mine that I've had for... damn, decades at this point. She's gone through many iterations, including a minorly successful webcomic years ago, and this is her in her current form. I don't know if I'll ever get to do anything with her, but I'm hoping to someday hit on the right idea for her.

Death Renewed - Guild Wars 2 Fanfiction
~Two hundred and fifty years ago the Savior of Tyria vanished from the world. Name lost to history and existence debated by historians in recent times, the Savior's impact upon Tyria seems to have faded into obscurity. Until now.~
<- [Chapter 1]
Chapter 2
The overseers of Grenth's domain were gathered deep in the cavernous recesses of the Bone Pits. The congregation stood within a sprawling expanse of winding catacombs, the towering walls of frozen bone and ebony rock stretching high above their heads. Around them, a multitude of the Underworld's refuse lay scattered across the ashen ground; decaying carcasses and stray skeletal remains lay caked in the ancient crushed bones of countless centuries past. The distant squelching and groans of the giant flesh hulks that roamed the Pits could be heard. It was the only sound among the silence of the damned and dead.
Both necromancers stood before the Council of the Seven Reapers of Grenth. Their forms, alight like unholy torches, loomed over the former hero and Desmina. Their sickly green masses were born from Grenth's divine magic that churned under wispy cloaks dark as midnight. He stole a quick glance to his right. Desmina was regarding the Seven Reapers, her pale face a perfect mask concealing whatever thoughts lay beneath. We are far from Dhuum's straining chains and seals from within the spires of the Hall of Judgement but without intervention, he thought, all of the Underworld will fall under his domain in time.
Was that what they wanted from him? Both he and Desmina, with the aid of the Reapers, had already tried and failed in stopping Dhuum's feast upon the River of Souls. If the Reapers do have a plan, then by Grenth's guidance may it work, he silently prayed.
The Reaper of the Ice Wastes, from its place at the center of the council, glided forth, leaving an icy trail in its wake. When it spoke, its voice was a booming choir of frigid whispers. "Proclaimed champion of Grenth. Your presence before the Council of Seven is past due."
"We sacrifice much to be before you. The fallen god shall surely take advantage of our absences." Said another as powerful undead magics rippled across the council. The force caused their cloaks of black smoke to flail wildly about. "Then let us make haste and be done with it," Desmina ordered, striding forward before them.
"Red Witch..." They hissed in unison and it was as if every judged soul in the Underworld was wailing from their maws. "You do not command the Reapers." Their words sapped the very air of its life, and he watched her stiffen under their gaze. Around them the Bone Pits fell silent, the sound of far-off stomping and pained groans ceased as the lumbering abominations of congealed flesh fell still like grotesque puppets cut from their strings.
"Are we in accord?" The council's haunting chorus sent an involuntary chill down his spine. Grenth's Seven Reapers assembled truly was a testament to His infallible sovereignty.
"...We are." Desmina relented, her breath now frosted, turning and snapping in two a jutted bone under her heel. She returned to her place among the scattered corpses. All seven turned their attention back to him. "Champion, your own misguided exile has ended. You are needed to stem the tide of consequences from your mistakes." When one Reaper finished another would continue. "Steps must be taken to silence The Voice in the Void."
"And what would you suggest that I do?" His own breath came out as frosty mist. "The course of the River of Souls cannot be changed."
"You shall do nothing." The overseer of the Ice Wastes retorted immediately; angry black tendrils lashed out from the edges of its cloak. Its voice was an icy dagger in his ears. "The Prince's gift must be relinquished from your flesh. Your actions have shown that you are unworthy of such power. It shall be used by another."
He stared, perturbed, at the Seven's ghastly faces. Their visages were unmoving as emerald and onyx twisted behind hollow eye sockets and open jaws. Did they mean to strip him of the very prize he had sacrificed so much for? No, he thought, Never.
"You demand too much!" He challenged, indignation rising in his throat. The necromancer let the power swell from within, conjuring jagged ice from nothingness and willing bone to gather from the carrion littered around them, forming a staff at his side. The remains Desmina had broken underfoot suddenly rose from their resting place; his mere presence caused the bones to snap and bind together to shape a lesser horror. It shambled its lopsided form over to its new master.
"You would take that which I have rightfully earned? Every sacrifice. Every trial. All for nothing!?" His voice rose higher and higher until his screams filled the entire cavern. The rage in his words mirrored his twisted grimace and intricate scar patterns upon his flesh smoldered a sickly green from beneath his robes. With dark magic alive and frenzied at his limbs, he was a whirlwind of necrotic power as ancient bone ash swirled in a tornado of anger around them all.
"You presume to know where Grenth's gifts are most worthy?" His hardened glare of piercing jade passed over each Reaper before him.
"Do you?"
His mouth fell partially agape, their question echoing through the underground necropolis of bone and discarded flesh. It surrounded him from every angle, boring into his mind like a hungry worm inside a rotting apple, demanding to be answered. However, after a great deafening silence had passed he found that he could not.
"You weigh your worth to the Prince on skewed scales, champion." A Reaper continued when the necromancer had slumped his shoulders in defeat, the necrotic whirlwind dissipating. "The scales of judgment demand balance against the weight of your transgression... You must yield your power."
He was silent for he could not deny that there was truth in the council's words. How could his actions be in alignment with the charge Grenth had left him? No... Grenth's scales would demand judgment for my failure. The thought brought forth the claws of his despair, gripping him anew. His minion shrieked, sensing his master's duress, flashing rows of razor-white teeth at an invisible enemy from its place at his heels.
"To whom would it be bestowed upon?" He asked, voice cold and bitter.
"Me," Desmina said, drawing his wide-eyed gaze. "I am the most suitable to receive that which He has given you."
"The First Priestess is correct. His gift would be split among the Council if absorbed... Diluted." He caught the ghost of a smirk cross Desmina's cheek at the Reaper's affirmation and the icy wrath crept up his throat again. In accord indeed, he thought. So this is the reason you sought me out Red Witch... You've been scheming behind my back.
His grip on the staff tightened, ice cracking under the weight of his revived anger. "And if I refuse?"
"Then you further the collapse of our Lord's hold on his own realm. Dhuum's cage crumbles... You will become what you fought so hard to destroy over two centuries ago; Tyria's doom." With each prediction that passed Desmina's lips, the guilt clawing inside his chest tore more and more of his resolve away. Damn her. Damn her and her poisoned tongue.
"Pray tell, Red Witch, how will this help you against Dhuum's rising power?"
Desmina matched his deep scowl. Her narrowed eyes were fossilized pools of amber; she answered with a bolt of crimson crackling between the tall horns of her crown. The council's chilling voices broke the palpable tension between them. "Consolidation of Grenth's power shall allow the First Priestess to limit the fallen god's influence over the River of Souls. His hold over the newly dead will not break, merely diminish his ability to amass power."
He went to retort, to say that this plan would only amount to stalling the inevitable, but Desmina's tongue was quicker. "There is more. Listen."
"The First Priestess shall take up governance over the dead. The charge you abandoned. The council's campaign shall continue to lead Grenth's faithful against the fallen one's minions throughout the realm. You," The Reaper of the Ice Wastes, lifted its black, gnarled, claw of a hand from beneath its cloak to point at him. "You shall become lesser. A mortal once more... however, your duty to the Prince of Winter shall not end."
The Reaper was silent for a moment as if expecting an outburst but when none came it continued, "You shall be tasked with two charges. Both are familiar. The first... Saving Tyria."
"Saving... Tyria?" He echoed, the words sounding almost foreign on his tongue.
"The threats that Tyria faces are known to the council... and what the fallen god stands to gain from their victory. Prayers cry out for Grenth's protection. His justice. You shall answer them."
He stared in stunned silence, realization slowly dawning on him. They... they mean to cast me out? To strip me bear before casting me out of the last vestiges still bearing Grenth's touch?
The Reaper's choir of icy whispers invaded his mind again. "The second shall allow us to silence the Voice in the Void. You shall gather Tyria's greatest champions. Return and reclaim the Hall of Judgement. Reseal Dhuum." The name of the fallen god sent out ripples of inky darkness across their phantasmal forms.
The necromancer opened his mouth to respond to the council's commands but found no words to say so he closed it, brow creasing in thought. Perhaps...perhaps this penance can allow me to beg forgiveness before Grenth when He returns.
"Time is short," Desmina said with finality. "You must make your choice. Now."
A part of him wanted nothing more than to retreat to that icy tomb of guilt and despair atop the Ice Wastes. It whispered from the deepest, blackest pits of his mind that returning to Tyria would bring only more pain and suffering but he willed it to be silent. "There is no choice." He told her after a long moment of silence. "There is only what must be done." His eyes shifted from holding her narrowed gaze to regarding the Reapers with grim resolve. May Grenth shield me against the trials ahead, he prayed.
"I understand... I accept."
"Very well..." The Seven Reapers said in unison, their voices still holding the authority of the very will of the Underworld. "Let it be decreed by the Council of Seven, rightful watchers of the Underworld and chosen of Grenth, that judgment be passed upon you: Guardian of Tyria... Slayer of Shiro Tagachi... Averter of Nightfall... For the failure of your duties as a warden over the Ender of All and the abandonment of the overseer to the newly dead; Your sentence shall be in accordance with the scales of judgment."
The cavern shook and groaned from the council's decree. The walls of bleached bone and ebony rock split at the surface, and high above millennia-old stalagmites of each fell from the ceiling, crashing to the ashen-dusted cavern floor around them. The Seven Reapers each raised a hand toward him, clawed fingers shimmering in a putrid green haze, and said, "We hereby exile you from your place among Grenth's venerated. You shall be a Tyrian once more... Defend your home in Grenth's name... Return in force to strike down Dhuum... Again, do you accept?"
He released his grip on his staff, the ice shattering into countless pieces as it fell away. "I do." He said, his answer holding no hint of hesitation.
"Then the warmth of life shall be returned to you." The council's words filled the vastness around them as tendrils of obsidian snaked from their outstretched hands with unholy speed, hooking into his flesh. "And the embrace of Grenth's gift shall be taken away." So it was with his mouth opened in a wordless scream and eyes rolled back into his skull, that Hero of Tyria's soul came undone. Desmina watched the Reapers untangle his soul from his body, eager eyes soaked in cold mirth. Each claw that curled pulled at a black tendril, like shadowy strings of a marionette, and with each pull of a string the council ripped his soul away, piece by piece.
When the Reapers had finished his sundered soul swirled and hissed with power, bathing the cavernous tomb in an eerie emerald glow that outshone even the council's presence. All seven outstretched both ghostly arms, the puppeteers now setting about separating his soul from the power bestowed upon him by the God of Death. His soul let loose a terrible howl, the ethereal wail permeating throughout the catacombs with palpable agony as they tore apart the very fabric of his essence.
The former hero's torment was an infinity of pain, an ouroboros looping in on itself without end. A universe of suffering condensed into a single moment. He screamed and screamed and screamed with his whole being, but it only seemed to worsen the anguish. Then the moment passed and another universe was born, and each new moment bringing with it a pain so visceral that he felt himself unravel at the seams. All that he was; all that he had been like strings being slowly tangled into impossible knots. However, deep within at the core of his being he felt a familiar presence. It was the same sphere of unmelting ice that had sheltered him when he had nothing, when he was nothing. He poured what was left of himself into it. All of his pain and his happiness. Every waking memory and tormenting nightmare; every remembered regret and moment of triumph. All of it... until there was nothing left to give.
His lone minion went into a frenzy, shrieking and thrashing uncontrollably underneath his master's tortured soul. Desmina flicked her wrist and silenced the creature in a small tomb of ice; her eyes never leaving the misty mass of divine magic that had taken shape. She strode forward, her stygian dress's blood-red coattails passing over the rubble of black rock now laying among the carcasses and fine bone ash. Grenth's gift will now be where it rightfully belongs. Her wicked smile spreading from ear to ear, painted in dancing green light. Desmina raised both arms up to receive the well of divine power before her, greedily drinking it in while the Reapers guided the necromancer's soul back to his body.
He collapsed immediately, knees buckling inward and ornate robes of onyx and emerald pooling around him. He managed to reach out before his head struck the cold cavern floor, catching himself upon a fallen slab of obsidian. His breath was ragged, his whole body shivering in the frigid air of the Underworld. For the first time in centuries, he felt cold. It was an unnatural chill that seeped into his skin, through muscle and past bone, sapping what little strength remained.
"You must take up your new charge without delay, First Priestess."
"Yes, yes." Desmina said, not bothering to face the Reapers. "But first we have to send the hero on his way."
"Rise." She commanded and with a release of necrotic magic, a horde of long skeletal hands suddenly burst forth from the ground, lifting the Hero of Tyria in their bony grasp. The man's eyes fluttered to stay open against the waiting abyss eager to claim him.
"Ready the portal."
The frigid pressure of the council's collective magics was the only sign of their defiance of her demands. The Seven Reapers gathered in a large wide circle among the refuse and rubble. They unfurled their blackened clawed appendages to the cavern's cracked lofty ceiling, their forms flickering with power as a wordless incantation passed between them.
"I commend you for your sacrifice. It seems you still have your heroic tendencies after all..." Desmina's voice seemed to come from far away; the ocean of darkness sinking him further and further down, drowning his mind and eroding his senses. "And for that, I thank you." Through the fading light, her wicked smile loomed down upon him from above the surface of dark waters.
"Gr...enth..." he managed to croak out.
"Do not worry. I remain loyal to the Prince of Winter." Desmina cooed darkly, her glowing amber eyes trailing over his features. She brought a gloved hand to his face, her fingertip smoldering in inky black fire. Such a shame Desmina thought, you are rather handsome.
The Red Witch dragged her finger down diagonally from his forehead to chin, flesh bubbling and sizzling like melting wax at her touch. "Let this scar upon your soul be a reminder to you. Let it throb with the guilt and shame of your failures each time you gaze upon it..." Streaks of blood sprung forth from the wound as she spoke, her tormenting black fire searing a ghoulish scar upon his pale visage. Too weak to scream, too numb to feel pain, the man only silently writhed. His muscles involuntarily jerked in protest but the hands of the dead held him firmly imprisoned. Her grin only grew wider when she finished, eyeing the ugly ravaged skin of her making. "And always remember hero..." Her voice was but a faint whisper now, echoing in the blackness. "You cannot fail."
"The portal to Tyria stands ready," The Reapers said. "Make haste, for it cannot be allowed to be active for long. The fallen one may sense our presence."
Desmina moved toward the portal, the hands of bone following in her footfalls. More limbs sprouted ahead of the man's body to carry him along while those no longer supporting his weight retreated back down into the cold dead earth.
He could not feel the vise-like grip of his prison. Nor could he see the dagger-tipped stalagmites of the cavern ceiling high above him, not possessing the strength to even lift his eyelids. He sank in a sea of nothingness, every sense faded away into the abyss that had all but swallowed him whole. However, he felt something pulling on his consciousness, calling to him.
The force kept him tethered to the waking world, but it was getting weaker and weaker. It threatened to snap and send his teetering mind wholly into oblivion. A primal fear took root then, a feral desperation to cling to the last sensation tying him to anything at all. The all-encompassing void had become a shackled black coffin, and his mind strained against the chains to call back out to it.
With palms outstretched, Desmina raised her arms and more skeletal appendages were conjured forth to obey her will. They encircled his limp form, bleached bony digits interlocked with one another, snapping and popping together into a large skeletal fist the size of a Reaper at its full height. It lifted the Hero of Tyria higher into the air towards the sickening greenish hue of the rippling portal before them.
"Begone." Grenth's first priestess commanded and her puppet obeyed. Reeling back on creaking bones, the large skeletal hand then propelled itself forward, releasing and launching the man from its grip into the portal.
He felt the force almost wink out of existence and in one final soundless scream, thrashed out with his mind, taking hold of the tether and pulled- just as the Hero of Tyria shimmered out of existence.
Desmina felt an inkling of power surge behind her. "What-" she began, whirling around only to catch a glimpse of a shadowy bolt streak across the air above her. The minion that she had entombed in ice was as dead as the corpses littering the ground, its power gone and returned to its master.
"No!" Desmina commanded her puppet to intercept it. It belongs to me! However, it was too late, the magic had already slipped through the portal into Tyria just as the Reapers concluded their ritual. Desmina wore an ugly scowl at the sight of the portal dissipating. Its green light faded from her eyes; her two orbs of seething amber witnessing the last vestige of Grenth's gift disappear, forever out of reach.
o-o-o
For the first time in over two and a half centuries, he dreamt... Dreams of faces he thought he knew but were strangers. Vistas that seemed familiar yet felt alien. Deeds that would inspire bards the world over and failures that would break the resolve of even the mightiest of heroes... Were these dreams? Or perhaps these were memories? He did not know. However, each one ended the same grim way. A great darkness would rise up, a behemoth of shadow devouring everything in its wake; swallowing all in its bottomless gluttony...

"The void gave way. What was once none but a mere blank canvas, exploded into none other than the form of a café. Just where was Guda exactly?"
In which Guda ends up conversing over tea with none other than Goetia himself?!!! Chaos ensues!
Note: i'm legit writing this outta boredom and cuz goetia is LIT!!
Warning: This fic does not follow canon fully; it may be a bit OOC.
Before them was none other than a void.
An all-compassing, endless horizon of nothingness; spread even further than the eye could comprehend it to be.
'...Okay, this is weird.' Guda swore that they were flanked by a plethora of servants not too long ago, who were guarding them from none other than endless galaxies of the final singularity.
So then where the hell was this place?!
The gnarling tree branches- that were slowly decaying-and the overwhelming midnight skies of Solomon Singularity were practically seared into their mind by now. This soulless place was absolutely nothing like it.
'Ugh, thinking of it just gives me chills.' The Solomon Singularity's shadowy, obsidian 'moon' frightened them; its formidable depths evoking a fear of the unknown. However, this void-like blank space was marginally duller in comparison.
Thinking that they'd prefer to get back into battle (as soon as possible!) Guda trundled through the gleaming expanses, clutching their injured arm all the while.
Trapped within a perpetual state of nonexistence, Guda braved through the never-ending road with none other than their extraordinary, sheer force of will aiding their side; as they hopped languidly across the blank space.
Hopping was good! It was a fun distraction from the despair-inducing inevitability of self-erasure that this place carried.
'One step, two, I've got a saint quartz for you! Three steps, four, the gacha is a pain in the ass! Five steps, six, oh shit I've run out of QP!' Incoherent thoughts rumbled through their mind, its unrelenting repetition serving as a means to retain their sanity. 'Ah crap, I'm so bored...when will this come to an end...'
The passage of time seemed to have come to a halt within this realm. The empirical world seemed to cease entirely, rendering all of the laws of physics null.
Nevertheless, they continued, simply because they had no choice but to do so. If Guda wasn't there to serve as the final master; then who would take their place? Who would rescue the world on their behalf?
Absolutely nobody.
If they couldn't reach the end by foot, then they would float. And if they couldn't float, they'd crawl; no matter what. Because that was the only way for them to survive such torture. It was this obsessively optimistic mindset that had kept them going for so long, despite experiencing so many terrifying realities during their time serving Chaldea.
And that was what Guda was currently doing, crawling whilst humming the 'my room' theme song; eyes gleaming with life.
A desire to live. A resignation to fate.
An unstoppable will. A wavering heart.
Life. Death.
The foolhardy beast; taking residence deep within-protected Guda's humanity; encasing it within a safe enough shelter for them to carry on.
Just when hope began to ebb the beast couldn't hold on for much longer, the form of a shadow finally transformed this empty space into something; defining it as more than just a realm of nonexistence.
'About...damn time...' Legs regained their strength, as they reached towards the shadow, as it coalesced; transforming the once hollow land into a genuine, tangible location.
The void finally gave way.
What was once none but a mere blank canvas, exploded into none other than the form of a café, enshrined within a domain filled to the brim with decaying ivory pillars and overgrown, ravenous plants. Under the celestial cloudscape that spread before them, this zone made Guda feel as if they had accidentally ascended to heaven.
Just where was Guda exactly?
Not particularly giving a damn about the finer details, Guda slammed open the café door- the bell tolling ominously as they yelled out a powerful "Yahoo! Guda here. Let's get this meeting over and done with!"
Only silence greeted them.
' Err...what?!'
Well, this was quite an awkward turn of events. It seemed as if they were still alone within this bemusing world. Bored, they decided to peer curiously around the cafe's interior, and was pleasantly surprised by it. The café was warm and comfortable, sunlight streaming through flower-covered windows, as mahogany tables and chairs stood before them. It was much more regular than expected.
"So, you managed to make it here in one piece. I'm impressed, dear customer." Appearing from absolutely nowhere yet everywhere at once, the voice was deep, its piercing reverberations echoing around the once soundless café.
'What-?!!!' Eyes wide with shock, Guda almost crashed into the door, yet is kept upright by none other than...a strange tendril?!
"A-ah, thank you-!? " As they spin to face their helper, two bewildered eyes stare into an entire plethora of beady red irises.
It was a demon pillar, dressed in none other than a dapper black suit; pale tendrils gripping onto a serving plate; its eyes staring right into Guda's very soul.
'What the actual fuck.' Of all the things to happen, this was much beyond Guda's expectations. "T-thanks for the help. You look familiar..."
Which one out of the 72 pillars was this one?
"I'm glad you remember my face, human. It's me, Barbatos." As soon as their name passed through their gleaming, red scars; Guda rushed at them, pulling them by the collar.
"Does this mean what I think it does? It's you! C'mon Barbatos, pass the materials! I need them!" Eyes sparkling with mirth, Guda invaded their personal space. "Let's make a deal, shall we?" Finding Barbatos here was akin to locating a gold mine! Taking full advantage of this opportunity, Guda tried to bargain with the poor demon pillar.
"How dare you! Unhand me at once, you foul cur!" The two began to tussle, as Barbatos' ice-cream shaped body wobbled with rage. By this time, the other pillars also began to emerge within the café as well, decked in identical suits; chattering and complaining between themselves.
"It's the scent of a human." "Human smells good." "Not good for me."
"Disgusting." "Foul." "Scorch them."
"The human made it." "They made it?" " You made it?" "We did."
Voices rushed and burbled, like a flash flood shooting straight through a dam- whispers and yells seeping through the café. The sound was unconceivable for the naked ear, screeching tones prickling against Guda's body. These pillars seemed to speak as if they were one brain. Continuing on from the others' thoughts, they spoke as if they were a united front.
It was understandable to assume that anybody would be terrified by such a thing, yet Guda's eyes were glowing with curiosity. To Guda, such pillars were none other than potential friends. Seeing as the pillars could communicate; it wouldn't hurt to try talking to them, right? Though it was also very tempting for Guda to try and steal Barbatos' materials as well.
'Holy shit...' Of all the things they had experienced, nothing could compare to this! 'Damn, this would make for a good story for gossip time at Chaldea.'
Grip finally loosening on Barbatos' suit, the demon pillar sighed with relief; as they used their tendrils to dust themselves down. Guda had traumatized them enough in other battles. There was absolutely no way they were going to agree to any of Guda's deals!
"I would attempt to farm you, but looks like I'm outnumbered. I give." Aware of this, Guda finally yielded, raising their arms in defeat. There was no choice but to hear them out this time, for curiosity had trumped over all other emotions.
As they spoke, a vast wall of red eyes glared at them; encasing Guda within their intimidatingly powerful aura; as the pillars watched with amused expressions. They were judging the human; mulling over whether it would be more fun to let them live or torture them until their dying breath. Such bloodlust drenched the cafe with its petrifying intensity, yet Guda's mind was somewhere else entirely.
"Seeing as you were nice enough to greet me, I'd prefer not to fight you." Barbatos' customer service was pretty good- for a demon pillar, that is. Much nicer than their usual fanfare of causing mass destruction and exploding things on impact. 'I may as well return their hospitality this time,' Guda sighed.
"A wise decision, human. Nobody can save you here. All of our eyes can incinerate you within an instant." The millions of glowing eyes shone dangerously within the café; as the sunny skies briefly clouded over, enshrouding them within a deadly shadow.
"However, that's not what we invited you here for. Follow me." Slinking forwards, Barbatos left a trail of a slick, thick muddy-like substance behind them; as Guda casually followed behind- making sure to wave a friendly greeting at all of the demon pillars standing beside them.
'This human sure is weird', One demon pillar mused.
Once the party of pillars finally gave way; Guda was welcomed by none other than the sight of a massive circular glass table; as a single pot of steaming tea and two decrepit cups laid upon its surface.
"Please take your seat." As Guda bowed respectfully to the departing demon pillars, a ravenous army of shiny black and red wisps filled the café. As the glittery sparkles finally disintegrated within the air, a solitary figure manifested themselves within a single marble throne, cracks appearing through ancient material.
With beautiful ebony skin, long tendrils of flaxen white hair and sagely robes, this visitor's appearance was stunning. Even their rage-filled, coal-black eyes contributed even more to their divine visage.
'Wow, that's one sparkly entrance.' Shielding their eyes from such enthralling beauty, Guda bravely apprehended their final guest, as they slid into the seat opposing them. A sneer and a smile; eyes filled with malice and ones filled with intrigue. Serving as the utter antithesis of one another, these two enemies had just committed the most unthinkable, most surreal of actions.
Guda had been invited to join Goetia for a drink of tea.
"So, it's you, Goetia. We meet again." Sniffing the tea cup for any signs of poison or maleficent uses of magic, Guda grins brightly towards them. "Though I wasn't expecting it, thanks for inviting me for a cup of tea!"
"Your words mean nothing to me, final master. Save your useless chat for those pathetic servants of yours." His dark irises refused to even acknowledge their presence, daintily sipping on their cracking cup of tea.
"Final master ? That's such a cool nickname!" Guda seemed blissfully unaware of Goetia's vehemence- or had they already accepted it as just being a natural part of 'his personality ?' Knowing Guda, they had most likely already accepted him for who he was. To witness one in their full form and accept it wholeheartedly for what it was...it was an uncanny; if not incredibly rare knack to possess.
"Usually you just call me 'human'. But calling me the 'final master', that's really nice! It feels a lot more direct and personal." Guda was touched.
"Scratch that. I'll call you vermin instead."
"C'mon, you were doing so well!"
"Blight."
"Awe, that's so harsh."
"Fiend."
"Does that mean I'm like a demon?" Guda laughed at that. "Then that makes us alike."
By this time, even Goetia was smirking slightly, amusement lighting up his usually dour face. "How impetuous, to assume such a thing. Plague."
"That makes me sound like a lethal threat. Which is a pretty good thing, actually."
"Worthless mass of human flesh."
Heart singing at such words, Guda gripped their cup. "T-that actually hurt-" But before they could finish their sentence, a rippling aura of doom weighed down on them, death's grip mere inches from their throat. For the first time, Guda was silenced by none other than just the immense energy of the opponent sitting right before them; oodles of sweat beading down their face.
"Silence." Black nails tapped the table, as he interweaved his tattoo-embedded hands together, golden rings and bracelets glinting off the sunlight. "Vermin. What was your verdict on the void, the hollow expanse of space that you so leisurely traversed upon?"
'...So, he's decided to stick to calling me vermin (affectionate), huh?' Guda stifled a laugh at that- in order to preserve their very existence.
"It was terrible. Almost lost the will to live wandering through that hellscape." Without existence, could life have any meaning? To Guda, such a zone stripped them of all the reason to exist; let alone live.
Eyes narrowing with displeasure at their answer, Goetia frowns. "Of course, a feeble entity such as yours would fail to comprehend the beauty and peace of such a world." Irritably running his hands through rich locks of hair, Goetia's voice deepened considerably.
"That void, is the world that I shall create; plunging this sordid excuse for a world back into the oblivion that it once was."
"That sounds like a pretty boring world to me," Guda all but complained. "Life's no fun without existence! What good would it be if everything just disappeared?"
"Spoken like true vermin." Goetia's expression filled with contempt, as they loftily looked down upon them; like death staring at a frog. "Even with this so-called 'existence' that you pathetic humans like to yammer on about, suffering sits at the apex of all life. To live is to face anguish, to writhe and wither until you are nothing but mere bones and dust!!!"
By this point, he was shouting.
"Yet you would claim that this 'life' is fun? That it's worth enduring for the sake of some 'fun and games' ? How preposterous."
"...You've made some great points right there, Goetia. I kind of see your point there." Crossing their arms, Guda furrowed their brows in concentration; thinking of ways to convince Goetia that life had its uses as well.
"But I think that life can be precious, as well. The bonds you make, things you create, events you experience...and then finally, the legacy that you leave behind...those facets of existence are irreplaceable; beautiful gems. Never forget that." Guda had seen it for themselves. Each and every life that they had passed by and touched was infinitely precious and worthy. To them, suffering was naught compared the human ability to love, and cherish life itself.
Delirious laughter echoed through the now darkening café, as Goetia clutched the left side of his face in agony; sharp teeth bared with rage.
"Only one who has not the slightest inkling of the sheer pain that humans have endured ever since their very first incarnation could say such utterly naïve hogwash. Try living for as long as I have, vermin!! Try observing the same horrors that I have, witnessing death upon death! You won't be so positive then."
Goetia's eyes illuminated a world of endless pain and melancholy. What was love to one who had only experienced death? Did it even exist within his mind? Guda found it terribly sad to think that this ancient, wise being had no compunction of the happier aspects of living.
"Hey, Goetia...What is love to you?" Before making any assumptions, it would be better to ask him his perspective first.
"Love...?!" His expression was as flat as a blank canvas, as if the word itself wasn't even worthy of his recognition. "It is nothing but yet another concept humans created to lessen their anguish. It serves no purpose."
"I think that it's a pretty nice feeling, actually. It's warm and comforting; like a nice cup of tea." At this, Guda frowned at the rather unsightly brew of tea Goetia had brewed for them. "Well, not like your tea, but you catch my drift; right?"
"What drift is there to catch? This warmth and comfort you speak of eludes me." His eyes burn holes through Guda, wrath engulfing his spirit. "You forget that I am a monster."
"Well, if you say so." To Guda, those words meant little. No matter what form they took; Guda regarded all beings that she could communicate with as fellow contemporaries. Even the most dastardly of monsters would be struck by Guda's exceptional brand of humanity, and Goetia was no exception.
Trying to deepen their understanding of him, Guda raised yet another question. "But there must be somebody you have cared for at least once, right? For you to worry so much about the difficulties humans face, that means-" Before they could even finish, Goetia slammed an arm shrouded in trailing tattoos on the table, clear frustration on his features.
"How very vermin-like of you, to try and prescribe human characteristics onto one like me. I have no need to possess such feelings."
This peaceful teatime conversation was going absolutely NOWHERE.
'How can I convince him of humanity's worth?' Taking a shallow sip of tea, Guda was about to debate him- much like a certain spiky-haired lawyer- only to have their mind assaulted by a paralyzing set of abhorrent images, filled with the wails of humans; and abominable scenes of suffering. Each scene pulverized their mind with pulsating electrical waves, sending them through a tumultuous bout of distress.
"Agh!" Guda's head thwacked against the table, as they squeezed their eyes shut in terror; as more terrifying moments of the tragedy of humanity's existence scorched themselves into their soul. Hands gripping onto the table for dear life, their frail body began to tremble from the tremendous force of witnessing such horrific recollections.
It was too painful to bear.
"HAHAHAHAHA!!!!" Head reared back in reverent bouts of laughter, eons of torment rippled through Goetia's maniacal eyes. "I'm glad you liked my tea, vermin. I may have accidentally implanted it with a few of my memories, you see. HAHAHAHA!!!"
What a petty demon he was, sinking to such depraved depths. He must've really hated Guda's optimistic mindset.
"....I... prefer to have my tea...with sugar and m-milk, rather than your s-shoddy magic memories...." Despite shivering from the traumatic impact of such terrible images, Guda put on a strong front. "...Your tea sucks..." This was the worst time to be making witty quips!
"Oh, is that so? ~ Well, I don't care- seeing as this pathetic teatime shall be your very last!!" Guttural screeches of demonic laughter pealed from his venomous mouth. "Do you get it now, vermin ?! The only way to restore balance to this world is to wipe it through entirely; and stop the beating heart of humanity! Only then, shall true peace reign throughout the universe-"
Like a wilting flower, his self-righteous demeanor faltered ever-so-slightly, as his usually domineering tone became a meagre whisper, as a strange feeling took over him. "...To end it all...that's all I want..." A lacerating pain- that he would not admit to- swelled within him for the briefest of moments, yet it was enough to catch him off guard.
Luckily, Guda was too overwhelmed to notice such a faint moment.
Shaking his head, Goetia wiped that slight moment of vulnerability away from his countenance as soon as possible, arching his back upright so that he could appear infallible again. To experience such a moment of weakness- daresay, humanity- was typically beneath him. "..."
"...I shall stand atop the throne, on my own. You have no right to interfere with my plans." A slight sense of disappointment briefly flickered through Goetia's features as they regarded the human shivering inconsolably before him. To think that the human whose eyes were glimmering with such vivacious energy moments before could be reduced to this...for Goetia, it was much too expected a reaction for him to even be surprised.
Humans were fragile, after all.
All interest in this being faded from his feelings immediately, as he ruefully spun away.
'Just as I expected.' It was without a doubt that this human was no different from the others. It was a miracle that they had even managed to survive this far. Of course, they'd be like a mere ant before a waterfall when exposed to the same pain he had endured.
"I was wrong. You're even lesser than vermin." His footsteps plodded lifelessly through the café, as he made his way to leave...
"H-hey...I actually pretty liked that nickname..." A clumsy clattering noise echoed, as Goetia spun back in surprise; eyes widening with wonder.
Guda was standing upright despite the never-ending pain, eyes blazing with desire.
"Don't underestimate vermin, dude."
And with that; they gulped the rest of the tea, like a ravenous beast ripping into its prey. Although painful torrents of memories tore and pierced their mind; grappling with Guda's waning sense of sanity, the beast within them proudly smashed through it all. Guda would remain Guda throughout anything, up until their very last breath. A few million dastardly images of human suffering would never get in the way of that!
Roaring loudly, Guda shot through Goetia's magic; as they threw the now-empty teacup to the ground. Body heaving with the weight of their mental turmoil, they breathed a simple, "Humans are a lot stronger than you think, Goetia."
"You're fucking stupid." Although his words were harsh, a small fragment of awe roused within him.
"Even after enduring such torture, you still wish to prove me wrong? How pathetic." He chuckled softly, as yet another unrecognizable emotion settled within him. It was indescribable, something that even he had no knowledge of.
"If I can't use words, I'll use actions to prove you wrong." Guda wheezed, pain wracking their body. It was taking all their strength just to stay upright. "Sometimes, the only way you can reach your opponents' hearts is via battle!"
"How foolish of you, to think that you could even sway the heart of a demon, let alone the king of all. You'll pay for such hubris one day."
"It's a worthy price to pay, if it can get through to you." Guda grinned, as a wave of exhilaration danced through Goetia's spine. This human was really something, that was for certain.
That was it.
He'd make a special exception to reserve only the finest of hells for such a gutsy human.
"As a special gift for amusing me so, I'll make sure to prioritize your incineration, vermin. I'll show you a suffering so vast that you'll never be able to rise again. Hehe, I'm quite looking forward to it." Light began to flood through the café, as it faded away. "Survive, and struggle pathetically. I can't wait to snuff you out." His voice trailed away within the sparkling light.
"You bet I will! You better watch out, because humanity's gonna kick you in the ass!" Guda pointed exuberantly towards his fading figure, as they smiled as brightly as the sun. "Let's do our best!"
"Stupid vermin."
"Ohoho, that sounded pretty affectionate to me!" Their conversation ended with a well-placed tease.
And with that, the void was gone.
Coldness seeped through Guda's veins as they awoke with a start; hands clutching onto mangled branches. As their eyes fluttered open, a midnight sky filled to the brim with stars shone before them.
'Ugh, not this singularity again...' As Guda rubbed their forehead, their massive party of allies rushed towards them.
"They're up! Recommencing battle!" Servants' cheerful yells resounded through the Solomon Singularity, as they all rushed back onto the battlefield; sparing Guda hi-fives, hugs and greetings on their way.
All that was left was a rather confused Mash, holding onto Guda's arm. "...What happened, senpai? Are you alright?" Lavender eyes brimmed with worry.
"I'm fine," Guda softly patted Mash's arm, as the young kouhai breathed with relief. "Let's just say that I had a rather riveting cup of tea with the end of humanity itself."
"....?!!" Mash was entirely befuddled by such a response.
Standing proudly, Guda looked up towards the sky; thrusting their fist towards the towering black moon.
'Goetia. I'm coming straight for you!' There was no looking back. Rushing straight towards the end of time, Guda made their way forwards.
Hopefully they'd be able to join them for yet another cup of tea. Hopefully with less discussion on the fate of humanity, and more on more interesting topics this time. It would be fun to find out what such a character was like in their daily life.
'Sure, his brew sucks. But it was fun talking to him.'
With renewed spirit, Guda hoped for the day that they'd be able to hear the words of their greatest enemy again.

The Mist Part 1
Part 1
A small village on the skirts of major city in a picturesque island on the coast of a tiny gem called Hells Island.
The city is bustling as per usual with little to no indication of what the future is to spring on them.
The morning is slowly but steady as people are rising up and heading into a long work day.
Traffic is at a all time high a new reporter is yelling in a shiny helicopter above the city, and then as if magic it goes.
The radio dial begins to spin flipping in and off through stations and a low pitch howl can be heard.
In one fowl swoop all the electrical devices now cease to work the world is left in dark state of peril.
One man so angry reveling with road rage had enough rolling down his window to peek
He freaks out sliding out till his feet are on his car seat, and his upper body held on to the roof.
“What the fuck?” The man says in utter loss and disbelief at what he says it is quite the unimaginable site.
The sea of people flee their cars, a bus and all personal watching the gray cloud swoop into the city.
The darkness is a frightening sight to behold with the impairment of vision, screams and people piling on to each other.
The city vanishes off the face of the earth in a matter of minutes no one can recollect anything about it.
Part 2
Tumblr media
Thomas Ford is enjoying the peace of mind at home no void of his family for a week or two.
He sprawling over his couch with beer to his side, deck in only his under pants he sighs in bliss.
The mist floats over him shutting off his and the towns entire electrical grid.
He stands up hearing a voice call out to him leaving his mind in a shamble of puddle.
He drops his drink mindless marching out of his home into the night of mist forever it’s now.
His shadow can be seen on the wall walking out of town into parts unknown to everyone but me.
His feet are naked dirty, bloody, bruised as he enters the forest of no return.
His eyes grow dull after making a few more steps on to the people bridge.
“Welcome! Welcome all to the night of the midnight madness” a young man shouts.
He smirks with wide grin lifting his magic staff in the air he slams onto the forest ground.
A flow of power crosses through as how are now in his domain blocking any others who
dare to intervene.
“Where was I? Oh yes! Tonight you will join me in becoming my little global family.” He shouts.
Part 3
Tumblr media
The mayor Stephen Jack Collins had had it in his mind to be at my beck and call since the start.
The mist descending led him to do the the oddest thing, exit his office and walk aimlessly.
He kept walking till he found the same weird young man sitting in the midst of earth,
“Who are you? If May ask” the mayor Steve as he now prefers to be called ask.
“I am your future, enter the forest.” The man points with his finger to the glowing light,
A warm sensation overcomes him like he is begin dragged into the space he goes forth
“Beautiful, simply beautiful” the mayor adds his vocabulary limits him.
“Oh! You thought I am here to help you.” The young man stares back.
“Who are you?” He regains a modicum of good breeding to have his common sense retain control.
“You were a lousy Mayor”
“Even worse a pathetic excuse of a man “
“The lowest of the low”
Before he could even entertain the idea of a spicy retort the lights blind him and he sees a whole bow life.

"Nyx is the Greek goddess (or personification) of the night. A shadowy figure, Nyx stood at or near the beginning of creation and mothered other personified deities such as Hypnos (Sleep) and Thanatos (Death), with Erebus (Darkness)." ~ Wikipedia A while ago on my Danny Phantom discord server we were talking about gods and goddesses in mythology, which included the Geek legends we actually did see in Danny Phantom such as Pandora, Cerberus, and Medusa. And I dunno it got me thinking about Nocturne for some reason so I wanted to design a ghost with a similar look. She looks a lot like my random oc Midnight too but what can I say? I love using blues, purples, and black together! So long story short I decided to combine both ideas to draw a version of Nyx as an ancient spirit and possibly the creator of Clockwork (Death) and Nocturne (Sleep) and is the wife of an unknown Darkness-themed ghost. Now, as for Nyx as a character her domain is in the darkest reaches of the Ghost Zone where the silence is almost deafening which she prefers. Wherever she steps bursts into a harmless white flame and she sings lullabies in the darkness to the wayward souls that wander deep enough into this part of the Ghost Zone searching for peace and quiet. Clockwork's Tower is closest to where she resides and when not observing the timeline he seeks her council which he deeply respects. Nyx knows he has a mischievous side but cares for her creation like any mother would. Nocturne on the other hand is quite literally a black sheep of sorts and in her mind has gone astray actively trapping mortals in a dreamworld to harness their energy which deeply saddens her truth be told. As for her husband, a ghost that embodies darkness itself, he guards the entrance to the Unworld which is a true void in the Ghost Zone where human advantages and ghost powers don't work. He uses shadowmancy to speak to her through the shadow she casts so Nyx never feels lonely. So all in all, she is content and as I said enjoys singing to herself and conversing with Clockwork and her husband.
