Slytherin!Nicholas Headcannons (the 80s)

A/N : I made this based on my version of headcanon, so sorry if my headcannon doesn't suit readers

• He was born into a Pureblood family but of mixed ethnicity. His mother was a native British citizen who studied at Hogwarts, while his father was from a line of Chinese wizards who settled in Taiwan. His father was an alumnus of Mahoutokoro, because it was the only magic school in Asia.

• He has three sisters, namely the oldest and twins. Her older sister is Wang Xinya, and her twin sisters are Wang Liuxian and Wang Luoyang. Xinya has an English name called Ivy Wang. Meanwhile, Liuxian and Luoyang have English names called Layla and Laura.

• Nicholas chose to attend Hogwarts after his father and mother actually moved to England when he was four years old. His three sisters also preferred to study at Hogwarts compared to Mahoutokoro.

• Obsessed with Dark Arts, but he doesn't use it for anything evil.

• Good at playing Quidditch since he was little, and during his second year at Hogwarts, he joined the Slytherin Quidditch Team. He has the position of beater.

• Enter Draco Malfoy's circle which is filled with arrogant, conceited children who have strong blood supremacy.

• He hates lazy people.

• His ideal type is a girl with blonde/light brown hair, tall, Slytherin (more inclined), from the upper class (First option), quiet, smart, doesn't act annoying/pickme.

• Nicholas would often join in mocking the Golden Trio along with Draco Malfoy's circle of friends and always pointed out that Slytherin was above all else.

• Very flirtatious and often flirts with girls who are obsessed with him. And usually he wouldn't be serious with those girls.

• Once punched Ron Weasley because Ron said something bad to him.

• Likes reading books and has always been the favorite student of the defense against dark arts teacher because of his expertise in dark magic.

• His dream when he graduates is to work in the ministry in the defense sector.

• Also has songwriting skills because he often creates beautiful poetic words.

• He lives in a luxurious manor with a strong Chinese architectural style in a hidden area of ​​London.

• Very manipulative and cunning when playing Quidditch, and his tactics always result in victory. He really is a true Slytherin.

Being a Malfoy was not coming naturally to me.

For starters I despised the whole pureblood supremacy shit. Not even talking about the dark lord.

At school I was an outcast. Most Slytherins stayed away from me due to my beliefs which I did not hesitate to declare. A lot of other students avoided me because of my brother.

Luna was one of the only people I truly came along with. Maybe because she was the odd one out as well. I loved that about her though. She was true to herself and never questioned being herself. It was inspiring honestly.

But there were also somerismatic and cunning twins who I liked to hang around with. It was always fun to be with Fred and George and they did not care about my family. They saw me and not just my name.

Draco and I used to come along well when we were younger and life easier. But he preferred impressing our father over me nowadays and we were drifting apart the more time passed.

The year was over sooner than I had wished for.

I was sitting in a train compartment with Luna and Neville, enjoying our conversation. At the same time I could not help but dread the end of this ride. The summer break was the worst time of the year for me.

So I hesitated to say goodbye to my friends to join the family reunion that was already taking place at the gate.

Our parents were delighted to see Draco. They were all smiling and talking. Sometimes I wondered if I should just not return home one day to improve all our lives. But that would feel like running away and everything inside of me was clenching at the thought of giving up when it was getting hard.

Reluctantly I stepped over to my family who actually greeted me properly.

Our mother let us talk about our school year the whole way home. But as soon as we arrived I escaped into my room.

I unpacked my stuff immediately to get it done quickly. But that did not work out as I was interrupted by Draco bursting into my room.

“I've wanted to talk to you for a long time now”, he proclaimed.

“You can't just come into my room like that”, I noted.

“Of course I can and I just did”, he insisted. “The Weasley twins? Seriously? Do you want to ruin our reputation for good?”

“Just get out”, I shot back.

“I won't. You may not care about our family, but I do. I wasn't exactly excited when you started hanging out with that Ravenclaw weirdo, but this is a different level. Why do you keep interacting with blood traitors?”, he ranted.

“This is stupid”, I mumbled, crossing my arms in front of my chest.

“The future of our family is a joke to you? When did all of that even happen? You used to hang around the right people”, he recalled.

“Oh, you mean your friends? Our rather the kids of our parents' friends? They're narrow-minded and total jerks”, I stated.

“What did you just say?” He growled, getting dangerously close.

“Drop the act, Draco! I'm not scared of you”, I enlightened him.

“You should be”, he warned me.

“You're weak, Draco. Always have been. You only do what everyone around is expecting you to do”, I proposed.

My brother clenched his fist before snapping his fingers and that way calling one of our house elves. “Go and get my father”, he ordered.

“That's another thing. You all treat the house elves like shit. I just don't get it. They're doing so much for us. A little appreciation and kindness isn't too much to ask for”, I remarked.

“What is going on here?”, our father questioned.

“(f/n)'s going insane. She's spending all her time with blood traitors and wants us to treat the house elves better”, Draco revealed.

“Is that so?”, father reassured.

I gulped. Honestly I was slightly scared of him because he was always afraid our family honor may be at risk.

“It is”, I confirmed.

“Alright then. I've given you enough time to redeem yourself. It's time for you to learn the hard way”, he announced.

“What do you mean?”, I inquired anxiously.

“You're going to spend the summer with your aunt. Maybe she can put you back on the right path”, he considered.

I could feel all color drain from my face. “You mean aunt Bellatrix? Are you serious? She's a maniac”, I reminded him.

“Don't talk about your family like that! Apparently I failed to teach you properly. Maybe I was too soft on you. I'm sure she won't be”, he assumed.

“No, you … you can't do that”, I protested.

Now I was scared to no end. Facing my father was one thing, but my aunt. That was a completely different story.

“I'm taking your wand in the meantime”, he decided.

My wand flew his way with a flick of his own before I could react.

“I'll contact Bellatrix immediately. You don't get to take anything with you. I'm sure she can provide you with the essentials. Draco, you will watch over your sister until your aunt arrives to make sure she doesn't do anything reckless”, he ordered.

“Yes, father”, Draco replied obediently, although he was looking a bit paler than before as well.

My mind was racing to find a way to get out. Suddenly I wished I had just run away after all.

Some headcanons linked to Ominis and his blindness, because I adore him:

This is sort of implied/generally accepted as canon anyway: Ominis’ blindness is a result of generations of family inbreeding due to his family’s obsession with blood purity. As if he needs yet another reason to despise his family…

Ominis mostly reads using Braille; it’s a language created by a Muggle in 1821 that consists of raised dots in various patterns to symbolise letters, words or numbers.

He taught himself Braille just before going to Hogwarts - I mean, who else was going to help him learn? His parents? His older siblings, who are just as awful and all about pure-blood supremacy?

Speaking of his family, they are predictably NOT happy about their son using a “made up language created by Muggle scum” - it’s one of the small ways Ominis is able to say “fuck you” to them because he KNOWS they hate him reading using Braille

When he first meets Sebastian, the other boy is utterly clueless that Ominis is blind. It’s only when he sees Ominis take out his wand, the tip blinking red to help him navigate, that he’s like “woah what is your wand doing?!?” When Ominis explains why, he just knows Sebastian is grinning as he goes “that’s amazing!” And then, ten whole seconds later, “wait, you’re bliND?!?”

Anne slaps her twin brother on the arm for that, rolling her eyes as she scolds him. Even though he can’t see them, Ominis knows he’s met his best friends for life right then and there.

Hogwarts textbooks do not come in Braille, regrettably, and so Ominis finds that he’s soon relying all too heavily on his friends to read to him (which is embarrassing quite frankly because he KNOWS how to read, he’s educated, it’s just not in the right format). The teachers, however, aren’t too happy about Anne or Sebastian (depending on who gets there first - they’re both competitive about being the one to help) reading out loud in the middle of class, and of course things go wrong when Sebastian starts moving Ominis’ hands around to show him the right wand movements for certain spells

As a result, Ominis soon falls behind in class - not because he’s stupid or bad at any of the classes, but simply because he’s unable to read what potion ingredients he needs, unable to read descriptions of spells or anything like that

The professors do understand and they wish they could do more to help, they truly do; all of them have been to Black several times asking if perhaps it’s possible to allow him extra time and space so that he can have someone read out ingredients to him, or perhaps to try to find a spell that’ll help him by reading for him. While Black is indeed friends with Ominis’ father, he doesn’t do a thing to help in that regard.

There are not very many blind wizards, but he’s able to do some research - with Sebastian and Anne helping, of course - and after a trip to the Restricted Section that was most definitely NOT approved by a teacher, they accidentally run into Madam Scribner who is NOT very happy.

“It’s important!” Sebastian protests. “Ominis can’t read his textbooks, and he can’t even read instructions for wand movements!” All three of them are given a warning - their only warning, they’re told - and sent away. Before he leaves, however, Scribner pulls Ominis aside and quietly tells him that she’ll see what she can do.

As it turns out, there is a spell that can transfigure textbooks into braille copies, but it’s so rarely known and used that it takes weeks of Scribner, Nurse Blainey AND Professor Weasley all researching in their spare time (Ominis, Sebastian and Anne are also still researching secretly). Because of how rare it is, none of them know how effective it will be but they give it a try anyway. It takes a few goes before it works, and Ominis hesitantly puts his fingers to the page to make sure it’s all correct - thankfully, it is.

Over the years, Ominis tweaks the spell a bit so that it’s more effective because sometimes there are still errors and he’s really tired of having to repeat the spell four times per book he wants to read before it actually works. It’s probably not the best idea to alter an already difficult and not always effective spell, but screw it, he just wants to read some damn books by himself

His grades do improve after this spell… although he still hates potions. Potions is his worst subject, which isn’t surprising given he can’t SEE the colour of whatever he’s boiling, so how is he supposed to know when it’s green or pink or a light blue? Sebastian or Anne usually let him know if it’s gone REALLY off colour, but they know he doesn’t want special treatment just because he’s blind. He sulks most potions lessons, wondering why he can’t just buy all of what he needs from J. Pippin’s shop instead of wasting time attempting to brew them

Still, at least most of his potions don’t explode - compared to Garreth Weasley’s little experiments, Ominis’ attempts at potions are relatively tame all things considered

People think that just because Ominis is blind, it means he also can’t hear them or that he’s some kind of defenceless innocent creature - they couldn’t be more wrong. Once he knows the correct wand movements, he’s incredible at duelling - his wand is an extension of his hand, given that it helps guide him around the castle, and so his bond with it is intense, which definitely helps fuel his spellcasts even more

Also Ominis totally knows ALL of the Hogwarts tea - the fact people underestimate him means they don’t realise he’s listening in, that he hears it all… And it’s not just the students he hears the gossip about - he knows an impressive amount about the teachers too 👀

Ominis LIVES for the tea, I tell you, absolutely lives for it like the snarky king he is.

thoughts I've had while re reading poa as a marauders fan, part one (chapters 1 - 4)

(id just like to point out this is my first time reading the books since middle school and first time I've read the books since I became a marauders fan in 2020)

chapter 1

- ok so ye the Weasleys are really poor, but if they're "extremely poor" you'd figure they'd use their money for something other than a vacation

13 Questions Every Harry Potter Fan Should Be Able To Answer

Question 1: Which house do you belong to?

Ravenclaw. I'm curious, creative and introverted. But I would also be happy in Hufflepuff since I am, at the end of the day, baby.

Question 2: Which Deathly Hallow would you choose?

If I'm being honest with myself probably the stone, to have one final conversation with my mother who recently, and very suddenly, passed away.

If that hadn't happened then I would've chosen the invisibility cloak because I love the idea of not being perceived.

Question 3: Which Character do you have a (not so) secret crush on?

Interesting question. I had to pick someone compliant with their characterization in the books then I'd probably say I'm most attracted to Tonks or Sirius, or the Weasley twins. But if you saw my AO3 history you'd think Tom Riddle.

Question 4: What are your Indepth and controversial thoughts on Severus Snape?

I think that Severus is a very tragic character. He came from poverty, was abused and neglected by his parents. The only person to ever show him kindness was Lily. He was canonically ugly, weird, and had bad hygiene. He was bullied by two classist Gryffindors and craved power and vengence which led him down a dark path. He died a hero who was courageous and self-sacrificing but I don't think she-who-shall-not-be-named wrote a convincing enough redemption story, especially not one in which the hero would give one of his son's Severus's name. He was still a wholly miserable person who was stuck in the past and verbally abused the child of his former nemesis for six years.

My controversial thoughts surrounding Snape was that he was first and foremost a genius - a potions prodigy who literally crafted his own spells as a teenager.

There was an unequal power dynamic between Severus and the Marauders. He was a dirt poor half-blood and they were rich purebloods. There was never any equal footing between them and as much as he participated in the feud, it was always in retaliation to their cruelty. (I can say this without bashing Sirius and James as all people contain multitudes).

I also don't believe Severus was a bigot. I think there's a good chance he hated muggles, as a result of the abuse from his father, but I he was too smart to buy into the idea of blood supremacy when he, a half-blood, was smarter than most of his pureblood peers. And when Lily, a muggleborn, was at the top of their class.

One of the more controversial headcanons I have is that Severus was recruited into becoming a Deatheater, not because he believed in their agenda but because he was allured by the promise of power, influence and vengeance. I believe he probably moved up high in the ranks after graduating Hogwarts because he was cunning, ambitious, and committed to proving himself and gaining Voldemort's respect. I also believe during his time as a Deatheater he most likely had to commit horrible acts of violence and cruelty, and that while Severus does have a sadistic streak (one that gives him the allusion of power), he does not wish suffering upon innocent people. He probably dealt with these peforming these acts by compartmentalizing his responsibiltiies as a Deatheater and using occlumancy.

One final thing I want to add is that I don't think Severus was obsessed with Lily in a 4Chan, incel sort of way (in fact, he kind of gives off ace vibes). In my opinion, Lily was the only person to ever give him love, kindness and compassion, and while he was in love with her, he was above all else, completely wracked with guilt over being responsible for telling Voldemort about the prophecy. He agrees to protect Harry because he feels indebted to her until the day he dies.

Question 5: Who, In your Opinion, Is more evil: Voldemort or Dolores Umbridge.

What a funny question. The first thing that comes to mind for me is Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump and the discourse in 2015-17 about which politician was worse. Voldemort (like Trump) is honest about who is is and what he stands for (self-interest and accumulating power). Alternatively Umbridge (like Clinton) tries to create the perception that she is good and righteous.

Umbridge represents the banaltiy of evil. She's sadistic and abusive, even towards children -all while wearing a polite smile on her face. She has the same vibe as a Catholic nun who abuses people in the name of god, and for Umbridge it was about the rule of law.

However, Voldemort's evil can't even be measured on the same scale. He's a meglomaniac eugenicst willing to purge the world of things he deems inferior to him. He was inspired by dictators like Hitler and Stalin.

It's far easier to hate Umbridge because she's not honest about who she is, and we've met a figure of authority who's exactly like her. Voldemort by all accounts and purposes, was far more powerful, influential and destructive, but too grandiose to relate to.

Question 6: Which death in the series is the most heartbreaking?

Sirius, Fred, Remus, but especially Fred. It was cruel to take him away from George. I think it would've been more satisfying if Percy, as a way to redeem himself to his family, sacrificed himself to save his brother during the Battle of Hogwarts.

Question 7: What Quidditch position would you play?

I wouldn't. I'd probably be in the stands or take advantage of the school being empty and fuck around in the empty castle all day.

Question 8: What Wizarding Career would you pursue?

Probably a teacher or academic/Unspeakable as I love research. That or someone who paints the magical portraits.

Question 9: Which book in the series is you favourite?

PoA was always my favourite as a kid because I really loved Lupin's character, and hearing about the Marauders. The time-turner plot gives me an eyeroll now but the climax is still one of the most thrilling to me. We also got a taste of Powerful Harry, which actually never came to fruition, but I really loved the idea that Harry was a very exceptional wizard who was coming into his powers and not just an every-man character.

Question 10: Who should have ended up together? Hermione/Ron or Hermione/Harry?

Hermione/Harry if it was developed earlier on. The author explained that Ron/Hermione was something she pigeonholed herself into in the first two books but later regretted it. I think canonically, Harry and Hermione are like siblings, but if their relationship was developed after PoA then it would've been really satisfying to see.

Question 11: Have you read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child?

No. Never will.

Question 12: Was Dumbledore a Hero or a Villain?

A hero. His plan worked in the end, as convoluted it may have been. I don't see Dumbledore as an all-good Santa-Claus-Grandpa character like his die-hard fans do, but I also don't see him as a chess-player villian twirling his moustache from the shadows.

I used to really hate Dumbledore because of how secretive he was. It was absolutely insane for him to have put Harry on that wild goose chase with such little information and it was a miracle they won the war at all.

At the end of the day, I think he was a man that feared having too much power due to the mistakes he made in his youth when he was hungry for it. He influenced things from the sidelines because he knew he was imperfect. He made mistakes all the time, and owned up to them, and if he was all-powerful those mistakes would have much graver consequences.

He loved Harry, in the end, and did not want to see him in that mess, but had the pressure of saving the world on his shoulders.

I have read your cult meta, and seeing Lucius as an oddball for a cult, may be true in the real world, but the wizarding world is quite different. Lucius Malfoy, as presented, is an intrigant, who is from a dynasty of intrigants that value prestige over sincerity and basic humanity. Also, not so long ago from the 90s, Hogwarts was a brutal place. Arthur still has scars from it, despite a few decades and despite the wonders of wizarding medicine. Filch's torture instruments are still in working order despite the Marauders and later the Weasley Twins, and even said how he missed the screams. So, young Lucius Malfoy could very well be tricked by Voldemort. I can't really imagine one could reasonably explain to a 17 year old, who spent the last seven years in a school where straight up torture is normal and probably agrees with Pureblood supremacy and Dark Magic, that maybe following a wizard who Crucio-es his followers is not a good idea, and on top of that, said wizard would offer Lucius a way to take out his frustrations. Also, in the seventh Harry Potter book, the fact the Carrow siblings weren't lynched nor murdered tells a lot about wizarding society.

Initial D Headcannons - Hogwarts House Edition

• All Initial D Characters • Word Count: 1,228. • Synopsis: I recently got back into the Harry Potter series and it got me wondering what house some of the Initial D characters would be in! I tried being as accurate as possible with their personalities and traits, as well as the racing side of things and how they work with that, so hopefully you enjoy! • Note: If anyone would like me to add a character that wasn't listed here let me know, I'd be happy to add more! (Characters are listed in alphabetical order.)

Bunta Fujiwara: Considering how much this man knows on all sorts of racing tactics and down to the most complex function of a car, I’d say he’s on the Ravenclaw side due to his extensive knowledge and experience of experimenting different methods over the years. He can also be an enigma and extremely cryptic, especially when giving Takumi advice on how to win a race or handle the Trueno, he definitely makes someone use their head and think.

Gou Hojo: I feel like he’d be a Gryffindor since he can be pretty head-strong and stubborn at times, especially racing. He also gets straight to the point about racing tactics, explanations, and most likely just regular conversation with his team and brother. His bluntness definitely fits the vibe.

Hiroshi Fumihiro: With how charismatic this man is with his words over the years of working with the RedSuns and Project D, I want to say he’s leaning more on the Hufflepuff side? He’s a very well-rounded person, patient and overall good-hearted. He tries to make the best of things and keep things on the positive side even if the opponent team isn’t as friendly.

Itsuki Takeuchi: Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. He’s definitely living in the moment, occasionally funny, definitely stubborn, but is an honest guy and good-hearted like a Gryffindor. He tends to also get into the moment very quickly rather than thinking things over first and jumps at a lot of opportunities that are thrown at him without really thinking of the possible consequences. Like that time, he ditched work mid-shift to go on a date with Kazumi. However, like a Hufflepuff, he’s an emotional guy, also very trusting towards his friends and cares strongly for those he loves. He’s also a very compassionate and considerate guy, seen clearly during his dates.

Keisuke Takahashi: Gryffindor for sure. Very head-strong, stubborn, blunt, will not take shit from anyone and most certainly will not back down without a fight. Even through that stubbornness and head-strong nature, he does come to learn the patience in certain racing techniques his brother told him to learn and practice. He takes the criticism as a challenge and uses it to better himself and prove to others he can do it.

Kenji: Possibly Gryffindor? He gives me Ron, maybe one of the Weasley twins vibes occasionally. He does jump in to some opportunities before thinking, like the time he and the guys stalked Iketani when he went on a date with Mako.

Kenta Nakamura: Possibly Slytherin or Gryffindor? He’s a very ambitious guy, wants to improve and follow in Keisuke’s footsteps, but can also get ahead of himself and jump to conclusions too quickly that it can come back to bite him in the ass like the rainy race on Myogi with Takumi.

Koichiro Iketani: I feel like he’s a Hufflepuff. His loyalty to his friends and the trust he has in them is very strong. He’s a good-hearted person and is very honest and dependable. He just wants the best for the people he cares about. That sort of love and loyalty definitely fits a Hufflepuff.

Kyoichi Sudo: Slytherin hands down. Man wants straight up power and authority. Extremely driven on taking down all the Gunma teams and be the best of the best with his Lan Evo supremacy. Definitely assertive and self-reliant, sometimes ruthless when needed.

Kyoko Iwase: Gryffindor. The amount of courage and bravery I saw on this girl’s face when she confessed to Keisuke just fits. Even through the rejection and tears when she inevitably got rejected, she pulled through and stayed strong in the end. Her determination for racing itself and to better herself in her performance is a real Gryffindor trait.

Mako Sato: Sweet girl feels like a Hufflepuff. She works hard at racing and is determined to improve while also being a genuine, loving person to those she cares about, even if they are someone new. She has let her emotions get the best of her a couple of times, once during a practice run with Sayuki about Iketani and after figuring Iketani wasn’t showing up under the billboard late at night.

Nobuhiko Akiyama: Ravenclaw for sure. The amount of research this boy does into the opponents’ cars that his team will be racing against is serious business. He wants to know the ins and outs of those cars as well as the best advantages his teammates cars can use to pull a win.

Rin Hojo: He’s a Slytherin, even before his mourning and depressive nature. He was always a serious guy to begin with and was a bit manipulative and controlling towards Kaori once. With threatening her to marry him or else her family’s fortune would suffer, sounds like a classic Malfoy move.

Ryosuke Takahashi: Ravenclaw without a doubt. The amount of simulations, hypothesis testing, research, medical school cramming, and race tactic practicing, this man is the literal definition of Ravenclaw. With his large info dumps and explaining to the RedSuns all sorts of information from a car part to the inner workings of their opponent themselves, he’s a big brainer.

Sayuki: I feel like she’s a Slytherin just for her charm and charisma, especially with guys. I wouldn’t say she’d use it to her advantage in a bad way, she just has the natural charm of flirting and is shameless about complimenting a guy on their looks right in front of them. She has nothing to be embarrassed about, so she’d go full send.

Shingo Shoji: Another power and authority hungry Slytherin. With how much Shingo fights Takeshi for being team leader and his nasty attitude in general, he’s a typical Slytherin. Especially with pulling dirty tricks, like ramming his car into other people’s bumpers to gain the lead in a race.

Takeshi Nakazato: Honestly, I’m torn on my boy here being either Gryffindor or Slytherin. He’s got the Slytherin traits of being an authoritative leader, ambitious, is really focused towards his goals, and likes his place of being number one on his team. On the other hand, his stubbornness and hating to go down without a fight bring strong Gryffindor vibes. He also uses his mistakes and losses as a challenge, like Keisuke, to better himself for the future.

Takumi Fujiwara: Though he’s normally very laid back, keeps to himself, and spaces out a lot, he gives me Slytherin vibes. Not bad Slytherin either, but more so the traditional meaning of the house. When he gets into the zone during a race, he is extremely focused and determined. He doesn’t let things get to his head and he’s patient to wait for the time to pull a move. His desire to perfect his skills is also a high quality Slytherin trait, as well as his realism and the costs of what his actions may or may not do are always present. He is also selective on who he trusts as well. It takes a little bit for him to warm up to someone, but once he knows them enough, he’ll learn right away if their trustworthy or not.

Wataru Akiyama: His attitude, stubbornness, and overall hatred of losing makes him a very competitive Gryffindor. I feel like he’s very similar to Keisuke. He’s straight forward, is strongly passionate in what he believes in and uses his mistakes in races to better himself.
