The website for Dogsled is FINISHED!
Tumblr media
An upsettingly tragic gothic/magical realist marriage horror clusterfuck of method acting and desperate astral metaphor on the ethics, dimensional logistics, and the destructive implications of "making an Ice Betty" on the sanctity of the timeline.
Dogsled is an amazing novella inspired by adventure time and the tragedy of Betty Grof, written by my friend @freezerprince. I coded everything in the website from scratch (minus the MP3 player, which was only heavily edited), and even created some of the pixel graphics around the site. The site includes 3 playlists, illustrations, adjustable font size, and reading progress storage.
I created this website because i desperately wish for more people to read Dogsled, so please visit the site and leave a comment!!

Friendly reminder that Wix.com is an Israeli-based company (& some website builders to look into instead)
I know the BDS movement is not targeting Wix.com specifically (see here for the companies they're currently boycotting) but since Wix originated in Israel as early as 2006, it would be best to drop them as soon as you can.
And while you're at it, you should leave DeviantArt too, since that company is owned by Wix. I deleted my DA account about a year ago not just because of their generative AI debacle but also because of their affiliation with their parent company. And just last month, DA has since shown their SUPPORT for Israel in the middle of Israel actively genociding the Palestinian people 😬
Anyway, I used to use Wix and I stopped using it around the same time that I left DA, but I never closed my Wix account until now. What WAS nice about Wix was how easy it was to build a site with nothing but a drag-and-drop system without any need to code.
So if you're using Wix for your portfolio, your school projects, or for anything else, then where can you go?
Here are some recommendations that you can look into for website builders that you can start for FREE and are NOT tied to a big, corporate entity (below the cut) 👇👇
Carrd.co
Tumblr media
This is what I used to build my link hub and my portfolio, so I have the most experience with this platform.
It's highly customizable with a drag-and-drop arrangement system, but it's not as open-ended as Wix. Still though, it's easy to grasp & set up without requiring any coding knowledge. The most "coding" you may ever have to deal with is markdown formatting (carrd provides an on-screen cheatsheet whenever you're editing text!) and section breaks (which is used to define headers, footers, individual pages, sections of a page, etc.) which are EXTREMELY useful.
There's limits to using this site builder for free (max of 2 websites & a max of 100 elements per site), but even then you can get a lot of mileage out of carrd.
mmm.page
Tumblr media
This is a VERY funny & charming website builder. The drag-and-drop system is just as open-ended as Wix, but it encourages you to get messy. Hell, you can make it just as messy as the early internet days, except the way you can arrange elements & images allows for more room for creativity.
Straw.page
Tumblr media
This is an extremely simple website builder that you can start from scratch, except it's made to be accessible from your phone. As such, the controls are limited and intentionally simple, but I can see this being a decent website builder to start with if all you have is your phone. The other options above are also accessible from your phone, but this one is by far one of the the simplest website builders available.
Hotglue.me
Tumblr media
This is also a very simple & rudimentary website builder that allows you to make a webpage from scratch, except it's not as easy to use on a mobile phone.
At a glance, its features are not as robust or easy to pick up like the previous options, but you can still create objects with a simple double click and drag them around, add text, and insert images or embeds.
Mind you, this launched in the 2010s and has likely stayed that way ever since, which means that it may not have support for mobile phone displays, so whether or not you wanna try your hand at building something on there is completely up to you!
Sadgrl's Layout Editor
Tumblr media
sadgrl.online is where I gathered most of these no-code site builders! I highly recommend looking through the webmaster links for more website-building info.
This simple site builder is for use on Neocities, which is a website hosting service that you can start using for free. This is the closest thing to building a site that resembles the early internet days, but the sites you can make are also responsive to mobile devices! This can be a good place to start if this kind of thing is your jam and you have little to no coding experience.
Although I will say, even if it sounds daunting at first, learning how to code in HTML and CSS is one of the most liberating experiences that anyone can have, even if you don't come from a website scripting background. It's like cooking a meal for yourself. So if you want to take that route, then I encourage to you at least try it!
Most of these website builders I reviewed were largely done at a glance, so I'm certainly missing out on how deep they can go.
Oh, and of course as always, Free Palestine đŸ‡”đŸ‡ž

Tumblr media
Hi all! As I think I've mentioned before this month I'm focusing a bit on promotion as there's an event I'm attending at the end of the month where you should not approach me unless you wanna hear about this project! Ha ha!
So, I have updated the www.umbra.pet splash page now with the new graphic, a new pet previewer that you can click on for your amusement and the project's very own email address that you can send a joke email to once and once only!! đŸŒ±
If you're in Europe the loading of the pet might be quite slow! Scarily so! This is because I got given a server slot in canada from my european hosting...I'm looking into it, as well as how much it would cost to run at least two different server locations. I'm in Europe, full disclosure, but I know a lot of pet sim players sit across the pond. I'd like for us all to have a speedy service but for now, sorry to my fellow EU people who might have to wait a bit for the pet to load in at first!
All of the features mentioned on the splash page are also features I'm fairly certain will be in there (crafting and customs confirmed??? :D). One feature I want to elaborate on is the "taking up residence" feature; your spirits(pets) will bond to a biome at birth so they will "live" there, but I do want housing as a separate feature! But if this one does happen it will be after launch when players have some real choices to pick from.
Anyway, looking forward to getting back to the dev cave soon!

Creators I love you but it's time to wake up
Among rumors about our tumblr user data being sold off to Midjourney/Generative AI, recent Extremely transphobic events (that have been ongoing) coming to a head, another extremely concerning internet censorship bill being pushed in upper levels of government, and a general air of frustration over how the site belongs to and is operated by perhaps the second stupidest CEO (second only to twitters own) of our age, I'm very done with the last few vestiges of what the old internet held for artists.
And if you're reading this, you probably are too.
I know we're tired. We are all tired. It is not always viable to pack up shop and move, again and again and again.
From tumblr to twitter to anywhere else we've ever grown up posting, things no longer work. Our audiences are kneecapped by aggressive and hostile algorithms, our reach is abysmal - if we aren't shadow-banned or silenced for one (transphobic) reason or another, we're thrust into an ever growing pit of hostility where the only thing that drives clicks is fighting and contention.
We're tired. We're so fucking tired. We aren't businesses, we aren't content mills, we cannot keep this pace that modern social media has set for us, to wring every ounce of creativity out of us to profit from and leave us rotting.
The key to staying afloat here, and I cannot stress this enough, is to stay connected to your peers.
Pack up and move as units if you must. Exodus from the sites that are killing us. Push your entire friend group of artists to move from one site to the next that promises you a kinder experience.
Art drives movements, it drives change, it is all that encompasses being human. If you take that away from the shitty places, they will be left with nothing but a cesspit of inhumanity and the people who follow you will be more incentivized than ever to move with you.
Yes, this is terrifying. There are no guarantees. There never was, and never are, and never will be.
But stay connected. Stay human.
Support each other and be willing to hold hands and jump when we all - as a group - need to jump from the flames we're all trying to convince ourselves wont kill us before rescue comes.
Rescue isn't coming, rescue will be found hand in hand with each other. I'm offering you my hand, please take it. There's always a new start, there are always helping hands reaching for you. You have to look up from the doom-scroll long enough to see and take them.

Hello my r1999 soldiers. I am looking for people able to help me with the making of a website that'll contain the story logs. Writing them down one by one is going to take me thirteen years if I do that, so may I ask, are any of you willing to help with providing the logs? Including the branching dialogue options? Something along these lines:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you wanna help, please feel free to dm me here with the info, or message me on discord at friedfishforsale.
Currently am focusing on writing the main story, specifically with the This is Tomorrow (prologue) and In Our Time.

Staff Recruitment
Greetings! This is a post regarding staff recruitment for Concept: “Mobius”, as you probably surmised. Vertekins and I always looking to add to the ranks and make the site as detailed, informative, and cool as it can be. If you’re interested in joining, great! Let’s find you a spot! Incidentally, you may be able to fill multiple roles, but first things first. You need to run before you can Spin Attack, after all.
Concept: “Mobius” is a Sonic the Hedgehog site dedicated to information about the games within the franchise and the worlds, characters, and events within. While there are multiple wikis and whatnot that serve this purpose, we’re trying to do things differently. We want to enrich the world of the Blue Blur and hopefully make it more cohesive, less muddled, and more fun. Obviously, this is too big a job for a few people, hence the slow trickle of updates over the years.
So, we need a team to tackle this endeavor, and we have many branches for all skill sets. You'll also be asked to help out here, as well, but more on that at another time.
Writers
Arguably one of the most important roles. Writers will be contributing the bulk of the site’s content, from articles and reviews to think pieces and news blurbs. You’ll be expected to be able to spell, know your grammar, and write coherently. If the most writing you’ve done is on Twitter, you may find yourself at a loss here, especially since you’ll probably have to be your own editor, unless you ask your teammates for help (which you can, to be clear).
Artists
Another absolutely crucial role. You’ll be responsible for how the site looks: graphics, character art, zone landscapes, etc. It’ll be a big task, but you’ll always be credited for your work, with links going to whatever platform you choose.
Programmers/Modders
Your job will be to modify the games. Why? Two reasons.
We’ll be using various games for clips and showcases, and we need them to be accurate as possible. Many of them are either missing content, have various inaccuracies between one another, or just don’t look/sound/play right for our purposes. We can’t very well show Sonic’s world if it’s lackluster, can we?
We want to show what even the worst of the franchise could look/sound/play like if given the TLC they deserve.
I know this doesn’t sound necessary or worthwhile, but I assure you, it will make sense in the future.
Theorists
You’ll be helping with various theories and doing your best to plug up various plotholes in the Sonic universe. Unlike certain other game theorists, however, you’ll be expected to show restraint when speculating and not go off on tangents or grasping at whatever straws you see.
Cartographers
Your job is a doozy: making a single, DEFINITIVE map of Sonic’s Earth. You see, there have been many in the games, and they’ve been different every time, depending on the game or the area it's based in. And each one has been inconsistent. Heck, people don't even know where Green Hill Zone definitively is, despite its number of uses.
THIS.
WILL.
NOT.
DO.
If anyone is going to take Sonic lore seriously (and few people do), we need one map that can be used for every game. That way, there is more consistency in the narrative and people have a more defined view of the world.
Modelers
Your role will be to make various character renders to be used for the cast in the Character Database. You’ll be working with the artists to make the most “true to life” representations of Sonic and the others as you can. You might also find yourself recreating certain areas or scenes from the games, demonstrating various abilities, or just letting the cast style on each other.
News Reporters
You’ll be reporting on everything Sonic-related that is newsworthy, whether it be a game announcement or a funny pic from Sega. Just try not to post any memes.
That'll do for now, although, we're welcoming anyone with a notable skill set. If you think you have something to contribute to Concept: "Mobius" that is or isn't listed here, let us know. Just be aware that we can't afford to pay anyone for their work.
Thank you very much in advance!
~Ryan

A few years back, I got a copyright strike on this blog, which is... fair enough, I guess.
Anyways, the funny part is that, even today, I have no idea what I actually got a strike for. I basically just got an E-Mail from tumblr one day, informing me of the copyright strike with a link to the post that caused it.
Slight problem: I couldn't view the post... because it had been deleted... by tumblr.
And try as I might, I am unable to recognize my posts based on the 18 digit post ID alone.

With the news that Tumblr has slashed its staff down to the bare bones, feels like a good time to remind folks that I am also on BlueSky. My account there functions a bit like a sketchblog, but with more reblogging of various other things, though kinda sporadic! Much like my posting here!
You can also check out my pinned post here for more places to see my art or support me.
That said, like many a long-time tumblr user, I am not abandoning this place and will continue to erratically post here until the site dies for real.

I've finally gone ahead and put a little green mark next to "wardrobe prototype". feels good! What's left of the prototype stage is admin tools (in progress) and pet thumbnails and first minigame (not started). Not all of the assets are fully polished, gonna do another round on some of the backgrounds and the animations/poses, but..trucking on!
In case this reaches new eyes: I'm doing all the art, I get help with the programming, I'm making a virtual pet site with 3d pets!

A webgame I'm trying to get up and running!
(This game is for ppl that are 18+) bfrally.vercel.app
Currently looking for people who want to sign up while the site is still being made to mess around and let me know if they find any problems.
BF⭐Rally
(short for Boyfriend Rally)
A collectable site where you gather and trade virtual boyfriends. Create a profile, talk with other players and show off who your favorites are!
=========
Hi! I've been working on this webgame for two months so far and it's super early days but I've been making decent progress. So I want to start putting it out there to find people who might be interested in something like this. Mainly so I can have people to talk to about it haha, but also so I can have an easier time getting feedback when I need it.
I'd say the game is supposed to have a similar setup like neopets or chicken smoothie but with cute guys instead of pets! And also with a very self insert-y vibe (or OCs if you're not into that).
My current goal is to get the site running with the basics first:
- User Profiles
- Boyfriend Collecting (You get a few each "month", month is in quotations since I probably wont be consistent at first cause I'll be busy with coding)
- and Forums
But there's way more stuff I wanna add in the future like:
- customizable player avatars
- trading
- affection levels and unlockable romantic interactions and possible short stories in a visual novel format
- mini games, gifts and an idle options to help with raising affection so people dont have to log in everyday
- possible bf dress up abilities, (though I'm still trying to figure out if this is feasible lol)
- setting up scenes with player avatars and a bf or bfs that can be saved as an image (kind of like a photobooth or dollhouse)
So yea, it a lot but this is definitely a long term passion project with no time limit so I'll be able to slowly add them over time.
Anyways check out my blog if you're interested, I mostly post art and me rambling about technical stuff đŸ«Ą
