Puppy love.

Idk how this has become an almost nightly update, but I swear I have so many ideas for this little family, it's ridiculous.

Sorry for all the Dadstarion spam to the peeps that aren't into it. I promise I'm going to pivot now. I have to edit MWC and I'm aiming to get it up this weekend or early next week.

Summary: Three year old Gale finds a dog in the orchard, but there’s something curious about this interaction. Astarion is struggling with parenthood in the face of his child’s growing understanding of the world.

Astarion had, against his own wishes, been required to participate much more in this year’s orchard harvest than in years previous. Your swollen stomach certainly got in the way of performing too much manual labor and you’d enlisted your husband’s help for the more difficult parts. 

“Darling, this is really more your thing.” Astarion sighs, crossing his arms as he assesses your pout. You’d just asked him to climb the ladder and pick apples from the taller parts of the trees.

“My love, I know you are such a wonderful father and husband that you wouldn’t dare say no to the mother of your children when she asks for help while she is currently incubating two of your precious offspring.” You respond sweetly, batting your eyelashes at your husband, “Unless you’re suggesting I should climb onto the ladder in my heavily encumbered state, dear?” 

“I hate you.” He responds with a huff and a quick roll of his eyes while trudging toward the ladder.

“No, you don’t.” You call after him before nestling yourself into the picnic blanket with Gale. The silver-haired boy was playing with a set of wooden ducks that had been whittled for him by Halsin, simply ‘quack quack quacking’ as he took a break from his part of the harvest. His little fingers were stained red by the cranberries he’d helped you pick.

Astarion reluctantly picked apples from a handful of trees before he gave up and settled down beside the two of you, insisting he would simply hire people to complete the rest of the harvest.

“I’m far too hungry to continue, love,” He complained before delving into the picnic basket and pulling out lunch.

Your stomach growls in response to the smell of food carrying in the autumn breeze. Fine, he was right, it was far too much work for two adults and a three year old.

As you eat, you watch Gale attempt more than once to bite into an oversized apple his father had picked from the orchard. The child had the item cupped in both his hands, and he kept opening his mouth far too wide, sinking only his incisors into the fruit’s thin flesh.

You stifle a giggle as he bites down and sends the McIntosh flying from his tiny fingers onto the checkered picnic blanket.

“Gale, darling, perhaps you should ask daddy to cut that,” You suggest as you finish the last few bites of Astarion’s sandwich. You’d instantly devoured your meal; the twins kept you ravenous. Your husband offered half of his own to you with a peck to your temple and gentle brush of his fingers along your rapidly growing stomach.

The elf might be exceptionally self-serving when it came to his interactions with the rest of the world, but he’d always been particularly self-sacrificing for his little love.

Gale grunts dramatically as he bends to retrieve his food and then turns to look at his father. Astarion lifts his eyes from his book to acknowledge the boy with a quirked eyebrow.

“Daddy, I want the knife for I can cut this,” he says, eagerly holding out one of his hands, hoping his father will let him use the dagger.

“I think we have a few more years before you’re using blades, little prince,” Astarion responds while snapping his book shut. Then he reaches into the picnic basket to retrieve your old sussur dagger before wiggling his fingers, beckoning for the apple.

Gale groans, disappointed that he can’t hold the knife, but obliges and hands the McIntosh to his father. A few quick cuts later and Astarion is placing the sliced wedges of fruit down in front of the silver-haired boy.

“What do you say, Gale?” You prompt as the child begins eating the fruit.

“Thank you, daddy!” The three year old responds through a mouthful of apple.

Astarion ruffles the little boy’s curls, “You’re welcome, little prince.” 

A soft whine comes from a few trees away, and Gale’s head lifts from his lunch to search for the source of the sound. His curious green eyes scan the orchard.

“A doggy!” He exclaims, immediately dropping his apple slice and moving to run toward the floppy eared mutt.

But Astarion snatches his son’s hand, halting him, “Gale, you can’t just go running after—“

“Come here, puppy!” Gale calls, ignoring his father. The dog immediately obeys, running toward the child with a wagging tail and lolling tongue.

You chuckle as Astarion wrinkles his nose in displeasure, protectively pulling his son back onto the picnic blanket and eyeing the animal suspiciously. 

“It’s just a lost puppy, Astarion.” You murmur, watching the mutt closely as it slows its approach, cocking its head slightly in curiosity. It doesn’t appear to be past adolescence.

The dog whines again, its brown eyes focused on the little boy. 

“She say she is hungry!” Gale exclaims before he crouches down to grab an apple slice, “Here, puppy!”

He attempts to toss the fruit to the dog, but doesn’t manage to get it quite far enough. The floppy eared creature slowly steps forward and takes the offering, watching your family cautiously.

Another whine comes from the puppy after it finishes the apple slice, and Gale crinkles his white eyebrows while turning to look at his father. 

“Papa, she say her mommy is hurt!” He explains, lifting a small finger to point to the back of the orchard, “Over there!”

You and Astarion exchange shocked glances. A silent conversation ensues between two pairs of eyes that know one another better than anyone else. Is the little boy actually communicating with the dog?

Astarion stands, his eyebrows furrowed, intent on confirming your suspicions. He heads in the direction your child pointed, toward the edge of your property located just more than fifty paces away.

Without his father holding him back, Gale runs to the mutt and begins to chatter excitedly, cooing praises of adoration as he pets the creature. You watch your son curiously as the animal licks the remnants of Gale’s lunch off his hands, her tail wagging happily.

When your husband returns, he’s got that same furrowed brow. Gale is distracted by the dog as Astarion calls to you, “Gwann.”

Dead.

You crinkle your eyebrows, mirroring Astarion’s puzzled expression, and then turn your focus back to your son. He must be able to communicate with the dog, there’s no other explanation.

“It looks like coyotes must have gotten to her,” Astarion explains, his voice low as he also assesses his son,  “And before you even suggest anything, no, Tav. Absolutely not. The twins are almost here, we won’t have time to—“

“Daddy!” Gale calls, running back towards his father, his new dog friend in tow, “Where her mommy go? We can help!”

Shit.

Astarion brings his fingers to anxiously pull at his own ear. 

Nine hells.

They’re adopting the damn dog, aren’t they? 

“Well, Gale…” Astarion starts, and he flicks his eyes to you, flailing his hand open in an exasperated gesture as he struggles to come up with an explanation, “Her mommy is sick and had to go to the… animal doctor. So… I told her mommy we would watch her until she got better.” 

A lie, yes. And not a particularly good one. But Astarion isn’t about to explain death to his three-year-old.

The little boy’s eyes widen in excitement as a grin spreads across his face. He turns to look at the puppy, and somehow he’s able to figure out the dog has no idea what his father said, so he repeats the gist of it to the floppy eared mutt. The dog listens and cocks its head curiously, but then seems to give some indication of agreement.

Poor little thing.

The two of you exchange glances again. You’re going to have to discuss this once Gale goes to bed.

“Come on, darling, get your toys and let’s head back inside,” You tell the little boy, “I’m sure your new friend is very hungry; we can find something for her there. Daddy is going to pick a few more apples and then join us.” 

As the three year old is grabbing his toys, you exchange another pointed glance with your husband before thrusting your chin in the direction of the dead dog. 

“Haudh,” You murmur. Grave. You want Astarion to bury the animal before the puppy winds up finding her dead mother and tells Gale. He nods his understanding and bids the two of you goodbye, waiting until you are out of sight before heading toward the back of the orchard. 

And here he thought he was done burying corpses.

Later that night, you and your husband are in bed after just putting your son and his new companion, Apple, to sleep. Gale had chosen the name while he helped you bathe the puppy. 

Astarion had rolled his eyes and whispered to you, “I don’t know which is worse, Scratch or Apple.”

But he’d started referring to the dog by that name, regardless. 

The elf closes his eyes and presses his fingers into the sockets with a soft groan, “I didn’t know what else to say, Tav. We couldn’t very well tell our extremely sensitive son that the pup’s mother died. You know how he would’ve responded. All the saplings in the orchard would’ve been knocked down.” 

You can’t help but laugh at your husband as he works through the events of today.

He snaps his eyes open and glares at you, raking his hands through his curls and completely ruining them in the process, “It’s not funny, dear.” 

“It kind of is, my Star,” You shrug, moving forward to press a gentle, comforting kiss to your husband’s lips, “But I love watching you try and protect Gale’s soft heart.” 

Astarion shakes his head at you with a belabored sigh, “Parenting is impossible.” 

“Perhaps… but we’ve done other impossible things, haven’t we, my love?” You whisper, and the twins roll in your stomach, signaling their assent.

Astarion sighs again and nods, bringing his hand to rest upon the swell of your abdomen. He smiles as he feels the movement of the two little ones within. 

“Sometimes I think you just manage to convince me anything is possible, little love. And I’m so foolishly enamored with you that I’ll believe anything you say.” The elf says through a lopsided, exhausted grin.  

“And apparently I’ll do anything you say, like moonlighting as a farmer and digging a damn grave for a dog,” He continues, his nose wrinkling in displeasure, “You’re lucky you’re cute, darling.” 

You chuckle; the phrase reminds you of the times before Astarion so willingly told you he loved you, back when the two of you had no idea what you were doing.

In many ways, the two of you still don’t have a clue.

But you have each other. And just like every time before, you would figure it out. Together.

“You know where I wanna go?” 

“Where, love?” 

“Up North.” I answer, craning my neck to look up at Simon. 

“Well where up North?” Simon asked, feeling his fingers run through my hair. 

“I don’t know. Maybe somewhere with mountains, I just want to see some snow. Play with it, make a snowman, hit you with a snowball.” I half joked, making Simon laugh. 

“A snowball fight, aye?” 

“Yes sir. I can take ya.” I taunted, leaning in close to him. 

Simon’s blue pearly eyes were my favorite thing to get lost in. It was as if there was a whole galaxy in there. 

“Can you though?” 

“We will just have to see when we go up there.” I say, laying my head down on his soft, plushy chest. 

“I’ll take ya up there, love. I promise. Once we go home from this mission, we will start planning for it.” Simon promised. 

“I’ll hold you to that promise then.” I said. 

Simon leaned down, his soft lips landing on my forehead and he wrapped his arm, the one with the tattoo sleeve, around me and squeezed me tight. 

“I love ya, Dolly.” 

“I love you too, Si.”

…

“Doolllyyyyyy..” 

“I’m right here, Simon.” I called  him through the incubator. 

I pressed my hand up against the glass and he attempted to do the same. 

“We are nearly there, Dolly.” Price called from up front. 

“‘Kay.” I said. 

We were about two hours into our trip and had about two more hours left. I didn’t even have to ask but Price would update me every once in a while on how much longer we had left and even though we were making progress, it felt like time was going slow. I just wanted my Simon back and I know they can’t go any faster that they are right now due to the falling snow, but I just wish we could get there sooner. Price and Gaz were in the front seats while Johnny and I were in the big trunk storage area of this military vehicle with Simon in the incubator. 

“I wonder if you being in the room those many times helped him recognize ya.” Johnny commented. 

“Maybe.” I reply, not taking my eyes off of Simon. 

Even though he freaked out yesterday when Johnny and them busted into my room, he is now settled into doing low growls and moans anytime they speak. I can tell that the guys secretly wish Simon recognized them, but they wouldn’t say it outloud. I get it though, they have known and worked with Simon longer than I have so I understand. Especially Johnny. Even though Simon wouldn’t say it out loud, he and Johnny were the closest with each other ever since their mission to stop Hassan. That was before my time but you can tell they are good friends, even though making friends is something you want to avoid in this line of work due to anything happening at any given moment. 

“Ghost is the toughest son of a bitch I have ever worked with.” Gaz commented from up front. 

“Heh, you’re not wrong about that.” I said. 

Simon once got shot in six different places and yet kept fighting until all of the enemies were down. I don’t know how he managed to do that but he did. I know that deep inside his mind it is him, I mean why else would he be saying my non-legal name that is said more than my real one? It makes sense, right? Simon then turned his head towards Johnny, his clouded eyes staring into his soul. 

 “And I thought his normal death glare was scary.” Johnny commented, half joking. 

I humored him by laughing, even though I wasn’t in too much of a giggly mood. 

“Jrrrrr…” 

“That’s new.” Price said. 

It sounded like he was making a ‘Jr’ kind of noise, which is odd. It immediately made me think he was trying to say Johnny’s name. Ghost then held his hand up weakly and pressed it up against the glass, staring directly into Johnny’s direction. 

“Joohhnnnnyyyyyy..” 

“Simon?” Johnny called to Simon, getting close to the incubator glass. 

He really is still there. Oh God, Simon. Simon. It’s all coming back to me.

“Get that back area!!” Price shouted as more zombies flooded in from the back. 

“Shit.” I mumbled, shooting them down. 

It was nonstop flooding of zombies, as if they were infinitely spawning in. This was a bad spot to even be trying to scavenge supplies. I’m the one who suggested it in the first place. 

“Dolly, stay close to me.” Simon told me. 

I huddled close to him as we continued to take out more zombies. The five of us were all huddled close by as we slowly tried to make our way to the exit of the building but it was so hard with all of the zombies coming from every direction. 

*Click* *Click* *Click*

“I’m out!” I heard my empty gun clicking. 

“Take this.” Simon tried handing me an extra pistol. 

“What about your shotgun? It will be more powerful.” I suggested. 

“Dolly just please do as I damn say.” 

I could tell he was getting irritated, so I just sucked it up. As I began shooting at the different zombies, it was taking more than five or six rounds at a time to take down a zombie and they were coming at us faster and faster. I needed something more powerful. Like Simon’s shotgun that was strapped on his back. I don’t want to disobey him, but we are nearly to the exit and we need this last bit of strong power in order to reach it. 

Fuck it. 

Fuck it. 

Fuck it. 

Fuck it. 

FUCK IT!! 

“Dolly, what are you-” 

*BAM*

…

…

…

..Dolly!!!

…

…

GET UP!!!

What? What? What’s happening? I can’t hear, I can’t see, what is happening? 

“DOLLY!!”

Simon? Simon..SIMON!!

“Simon!” I called for him, despite not being able to see. 

I felt two big arms grab me, lift me up to my feet, throw my arm on their shoulder, and drag me out. 

“The place is going down!” I heard Gaz shout. 

I couldn’t really hear anymore zombies growling but I could hear the place crumbling all around and then get very distant the more we ran. 

“Stay with me, love, stay with me.” Simon’s gravelly voice told me. 

“Simon..Simon..I’m sorry.” I croaked out. 

“No, no Dolly. It’s not your fault, it’s not your fault. “ Simon reassured me, despite still feeling the immense guilt in my gut. 

“Step up, Dolly.” Simon told me. 

I lifted my leg up, and felt my foot land on the step of our transport truck, and take off. As we all settled down, and caught our breaths, I felt a cold fabric get placed on my forehead. 

“It’s me, sweetie.” 

Simon. I immediately held his hand that was holding the wet cloth, seeing my vision become clearer, slowly. 

“Si, I’m sorry I just-” 

“Dolly, please. You were doing only what you thought was right.” Simon reassured me, his bright blue eyes staring into mine. 

His eyes were so beautiful. So, so beautiful. Just a month ago we were laying in bed together, waking up to us holding each other and those bright blue eyes being my first greeting of the day. And now here we are, comforting me in wake of my stupid mistake. I hated myself for this. Even though I wanted to keep staring into his eyes, something else caught my eye. Something that made my heart stop. It was a piercing red, sticking out like a sore thumb on his shoulder. No. No, it can’t be. There’s no way that’s..

“Simon.” 

“What, love?” 

“Your-” 

“We’re here.” 

The sudden screeching halt of the truck knocked me out of my flashback. I swear just a minute ago Price said we had two hours left of the trip and here we are, parked in front of a big huge metal automatic gate. There were guards on top of the pillars with guns. They weren’t aiming their guns at us, but they were most definitely on guard. 

“He said he would be here.” Price mumbled. 

“Who?” I asked. 

“Outta my way, outta my way! I’m coming, I’m coming!!” 

There was a man shouting from the other side of the gate, and the voice sounded so familiar. It can’t be..

“Let them in!!” 

Without hesitation, the guards pulled a lever and the two big metal gates started slowly ascending open. Once it was opened enough, Price let go of the brakes and we slowly started pulling into the sanctuary. Once in, Price stopped and a man walked up to the driver’s side. 

“Thanks for letting us come ‘ere.” Price thanked him. 

I turned my head to get a better look as to who it was, the kind samaritan that allowed us to come here and get a cure for Simon. 

“Friends help each other.” 

He turned to look at me and gave me a beaming smile, a smile that reassured me that everything would be okay.

welcome to an Elysium Drama Update tHAT IVE BEEN VAGUING AND HYPING ABOUT FOR THREEEEEEEE MONTHS 😱 yes you ARE reading this correctly! After all this time of spiraling deeper and deeper RECENTLY and after the VERY long tumultuous past of the previous decade-ish - the Taki Fuego Trifecta Trio (their tag here) is HAVING AN ENTIRE BABY BY CHOICE AND ON PURPOSE— oh mmmmYYYY GGGGGGGOD—

All five of these illustrations feature completely canon dialogue dating back from January when they first started trying for a baby. now that Loki finally confirmed that he’s actually pregnant a few weeks ago - clearly out loud and in words - it is finally time to reveal this news to all of YOU!

Congratulations YOU are now part of a select few! NO ONE ELSE IN THE PALACE KNOWS YET.

The baby Loki is now incubating is sired by Tory!! with Maci of course knowingly and delightedly pulling all puppet strings “behind the scenes” aka like, to the left of them or whatever on the bed.💞How did this even fucking happen you may be asking??!!! They went from fun bedroom dynamic to let’s have an entire babBY?!?! Well- just like the way these playfully suggestive drawings (every one of these convos took place during…… during. uhhhhhhhhhh) are slyly ambiguous in the way I chose to draw them - let me explain the decision of this baby in the same,, extremely sanitized way:::

Maci and Tory.,,, will say.,,, literally anything. And During one such occasion,, it dawned on Loki - and them too, honestly — suddenly with a full record scratch that — wait are you actually being serious?? WAIT DO YOU *ACTUALLY* WANT A—

As nudged upon here and also in my many recent lore essays, please remember that Loki’s ~antsy~ when it comes to his pregnancies and history of children; due to the prior tragedies that had befallen the first six he’s always made it a habit of just vanishing, paranoid and anxious, each time he’s found himself pregnant. However Maci and Tory unequivocally and wholeheartedly asking him to make a baby with them because 💞love💞 and 💞lust💞 and 💞clingy vibes💞- again LITERALLY the first EVER baby ON PURPOSE EVER- was enough to IMMEDIATELY make him go starry eyed. Even though over these past few months since Tory first initiated the talk Loki had…. Still has……. refused to admit that and continued to be his usual vaguely hostile and suspicious self but….

As of today he’s six weeks pregnant (he can always, magically, tell right away) and he has not yet disappeared.in fact he hasn’t even left their BED or their SIDE in THREE MONTHS. 🥺 mhy god hellO., Loki you’re so full of shit and they’re onto you. Maybe stop blushing so much.

Absolutely! Jeremy loves her so much and she adores him. Don sends constant pics and updates of her in the revised Purple Dragon group chat (basically the og Purple Dragons, plus April minus Kendra). He’ll bring her along for study sessions and Jeremy gushes over her while she shows him all of her latest updates. He’ll eventually get an instant communication device to talk with her like Don does.

As for a DNA spliced fankid….I don’t think that’s something I see for them personally. However, once they’re both older, adoption of a human/mutant/yokai child would not be out of the question💜😉

And a lot of weird ways to enter passwords. Which is nice for protecting the air, but not so great when you, you know, desperately need air and only have a few seconds to enter the password.

The binary forms of color? This is so extreme not to mention boring. Not one sign of Blessie. I’ve been bamboozled. And WHY is there a timer? This is so weird.

Well I’m upset. We went to the greenhouse and didn’t see leaf or stem of Blessie. 💔

For what holiday? Cutter and Pryce clearly hate holidays. They’ve ordered people killed on nearly every holiday we’ve seen! … actually maybe that’s their way of making the holidays their own… and it makes me wonder who they want to kill at this party. Jacobi and Maxwell have a right to be concerned about this.

“We don’t ask questions. We trust that we were given orders for a reason.” THAT ONLY WORKS IF YOU ARE WORKING FOR TRUSTWORTHY PEOPLE. And committing or endorsing murder takes you off the trustworthy list.

The idea of Cutter and Pryce celebrating Christmas disgusts me. Like, physically I have a hard time stomaching it. Christmas is about joy, and love, and goodwill toward mankind. Cutter and his crazy science gf have no place involving themselves in that. Not unless they show some serious remorse and do some serious penance and jail time.

hi!!! i’m virid (call me vivi though please) and i’m a new pokemon trainer! i decided making an account here would be a good way to keep track of my journey and make some new friends!

i’m 15, which i’m told is a bit old for a first pokemon journey, but that’s just safer for kids that live close(ish) to castelia city, so here we are. i plan on updating this post as my journey progresses, but there’s not much to it yet! i haven’t been out here for very long

my starter is prancer, my deerling sawsbuck. he’s been with me for years now, i got him when i was maybe 8 or 9. he’s super protective of me, and when i was little, he was sort of my ‘bodyguard’. he prefers being out of his pokéball so that he can enjoy the fresh air (and keep an eye on me)

i also recently got salami sandwich the sandile krookodile. she’s named that because she stole my salami sandwich when we met. she’s very feisty but she’s come a long way in her training so far, and is shaping up to be an excellent battler

i found an egg in my backpack and bought an incubator for it. the only thing i know about it so far is that it’s mammalian

twiggy the emolga, who has decided that prancer is his favorite person in the whole wide world. prancer is warming up to him, but definitely doesn’t feel as strongly. twiggy is very very energetic and loves climbing

DMO: Digimon Military Operatives_44.TXT

It has been a while since these people gave trouble huh?

Recently, when coming back from my Uni, I've noticed an increase in the soldiers that walk around the train stations, well, it appears that they all come from the same source, a police warehouse that's a few streets from my house, so I decided to go and take a peek yesterday since, for... Obvious reasons, it's on the way to my house, and when I got there, oh did I find something interesting.

When I got near the facility, I was greeted with a considerable crowd lining for who knows what, so I tried to blend between them and listen to the police. Apparently, they were showing the facility to the new recruits that enrolled themselves to participate in the tech support program, making this the "base" for the new tech team from now on, I got in with the rest of the crowd and then our phones were searched by Espimon, a Child level digimon, they didn't find anything on me since my partners were on the Digimon DOCK, so that was a close one, but aside from that, they gave a little instruction of transferring some data to our phones, and I had to accept, tho I obviously transferred it to my Digimon DOCK to analyze it, apparently it was a roughly made Digitama, only god knows what could come out of there, so I asked Kuzuhamon to create an incubator for it and Spinomon to look over it, while Cannondramon makes some memory and tries to tell us what could come out of there, tho as I said it's roughly made, so it could take a while for it to hatch, like some sturdy eggs in certain JRPG games, tho, I hope this is not one of those bad eggs also present there. Anyways, after this they got us all together and gave us a presentation about their plans... And this plan is one hell of a threat.

「1. Gather as many soldiers as possible and train them on the use of Digital Monsters, equipping the lowest ranking ones with Commandramon and Sealsdramon, letting the best ranking ones use Perfects trained by themselves and rank up those who were able to get Ultimates so they can be the heads of the next part of the operation.

2. Recolecting as much weapon data as possible, will it be data of normal weapons, or weapons used by digimon and storage them inside a server strictly dedicated to that.

3. Deconstructing the data from these weapons to create the "Ultimate weapon" and prove it's efficiency by attacking small countries internet servers.

4. Once its efficiency is proven, hand it to the higher ups at the military so they can hand it "to them"」

I'm pretty sure "them" must be the government, having a powerful digital weapon with enough power for it to be proved on whole external servers is something any government would want so they can use it as a thread to leave an enemy nation incommunicado, and attack them irl as of what this ultimate weapon may be, I still put my bets on Ragna Lordmon, it's a powerful digimon that could absolutely do this, so I should be preparing to face it from now on.

After this horrific speech, the little reunion ended, once we got out, I noticed that everyone was looking at their phones, and when I peeked to see what they were doing, I realized that their eggs were hatching, with Fufumon coming out in millions, as of now however, the one I got has not hatched... Yet, it's been a day, and I don't know how much it may take to hatch, but know that I'll keep you updated on that, as of now, I'm preparing for the next tournament fight, this time against a Lavogaritamon and a WereGarurumon, an interesting combo, specially for me since Stiffilmon has a natural rivalry with that species, but I'll leave that for another day.

Hi all, I’m back with my second guide post for new players of Ssum-- which are ALL players, at this point! We’re all figuring this out together, so feel free to add anything or jump in with questions or comments. This post will focus on the Incubator. From the Home Page, just slide to the right to find your Incubator!

The Incubator is actually fairly straightforward, despite how complex and fancy it looks. All you need to do is press the buttons for the different Energy Orbs, and they will be deposited into a flask and set on a shelf to incubate. 

The time each orb takes to incubate will be displayed at the base of the flask, and the time varies depending on what the final product will be. Once they finish incubating, simpy tap on the flasks to collect them! 

Press on PIU-PIU in the bottom right corner to see a list of all the items you have created and collected. 

Keep in mind that once you fill up all three of your flasks, you will need to wait for them to finish before incubating more. (If you press on an incubating flask you can speed up the process with batteries, but I suggest you spend your batteries on more valuable things, as doing this would rapidly drain your supply dry).

You also can ‘grind’ batteries to create more Energy Orbs, but again, I suggest saving your batteries for other things. There are many ways to collect Energy Orbs in the game (I will list them lower down in this post), and they should keep you well-stocked!

Incubating Energy Orbs will give you three kinds of products: Frequencies, Emotions, and Gifts. Most Energy Orbs have the potential to turn into any one of these. These items are used to unlock new planets and then spend as currency on these planets. 

Common Incubator Questions

What exactly are Emotions? What are they used for?

The most common product you will make in the Incubator are Emotions. There are eight kinds of Emotions you can create and collect, one for each color of the rainbow. The color of the Energy Orb will determine what Emotion can be created.

(Red) Passion Energy  -> Strong Desire

(Orange) Innocent Energy  -> Wings of Sensitivity

(Yellow) Jolly Energy  -> Best Jokes Ever

(Green) Peaceful Energy  -> Gratitude

(Blue) Logical Energy  -> Wall of Reason

(Indigo) Pensive Energy  -> Puzzles in Relationship

(Violet) Galactic Energy  -> Realization

Any Energy  -> Freedom to be Bored

The last emotion I’ve listed, the Boredom emotion, is special in that it can be created from any orb. At first, most of what you produce will be Boredom, in fact. But Boredom emotions are useful too, because they unlock a planet just like the others and can be used as currency on that planet.

Once you have collected 20 Emotions of a given type, you will unlock the emotion’s corresponding planet. The eight planets that these emotions unlock are:

Strong Desire  -> Root of Desire

Wings of Sensitivity  -> Canals of Sensitivity

Best Jokes Ever  -> Mountains of Wandering Humor

Gratitude  -> Milky Way of Gratitude

Wall of Reason  -> Archive of Terran Info

Puzzles in Relationship  -> Bamboo Forest of Puzzles

Realization  -> Archive of Sentences

Freedom to be Bored  -> City of Free Men

You can travel to these planets in the Forbidden Lab. Once you arrive, you can use your Emotions to make posts on these planets or support other player’s posts. Each emotion is used on its corresponding planet. So, for example, at the Archive of Terran Info, you will use Wall of Reason emotions to make posts, etc.

What are Frequencies? How do they differ from Emotions?

Less often, you will produce Frequencies in your incubator. It seems that the color of the energy orb is not connected to what Frequency you will produce, similar to how Boredom is created. So any orb may potentially give you a Frequency.

Frequencies are very similar to Emotions. They also unlock planets and are used as currency on their corresponding planet. However, the planets they unlock are called Seasonal Planets, which work a little bit differently. You will need 30 Frequencies to unlock a Seasonal Planet instead of 20. 

Also, using Frequencies as currency seems to work a little differently on these planets. To make a post, you will need to give up half of the current Frequencies you possess for that planet. (However, you will need at least 20 Frequencies to make a post.) At least, that’s how it works on planet Vanas. As a result, it’s better to make a post on Vanas frequently, instead of stockpiling Vanas Frequencies, since the fewer Frequencies you have, the cheaper the fee for posting will be. It is possible the other Seasonal Planets’ fees will work differently, though.

(I have not unlocked a Seasonal Planet other than Vanas yet, so I will update this guide with the full details once I learn them!)

What are gifts? What can I use them for?

Gifts are relatively rare, but sometimes you will produce them. There is a wide range to collect. You can send gifts to other players when you visit other planets. This is done to show support for a post of theirs that you really enjoyed. A nice perk with sending a gift is that you can send a note along with your gift. Another advantage of gifts is that when you gift somebody for a particular post you liked, that will make other people much more likely to see that post. So send a gift for posts you think deserve more attention! 

Gifts take a long time to incubate, and if you have a flask with a really huge timer, it’s most likely a gift.

The gifts that you create will be kept in PIU-PIU’s belly under “Produced Items.” The gifts you receive from other players will be under “Received Gift.” You may keep the gifts you receive, or you may recycle them to get one battery per gift.

I keep making nothing but Boredom Emotions!! What am I doing wrong?

Fear not! The more you use the Incubator, the more it levels up. This improves its efficiency, which decreases your odds of producing Boredom emotions and increases your odds of making non-boredom emotions. It also increases your odds of overmanufacturing, which is when a flask produces multiple items at once. 

To check the efficiency/level of your Incubator, check the little label on the top left. Pressing the percentage will provide you with the current level of efficiency and odds of production. The bottom of the screen shows your progress towards the next level-up. Keep in mind that leveling up the Incubator not only improves its efficiency, it will reward you with other goodies too (batteries, creature boxes, etc).

I know at first it really does feel like all you make is Boredom, but once you gain a few levels it does even out a lot more. And keep in mind that Boredom still is very useful. You can use it to make posts and leave support on the City of Free Men, as well as open your own “lab” on the planet (basically, a discussion form that you own). As you do these things you will level up your planets and earn Energy Orbs, Creaure Boxes, and Batteries as a reward!

Do we ever get more than three flasks?

In the future we may get more free flasks but for now we only have three. However, you can purchase more in the shop, up to six total. You also receive flasks as part of the monthly subscriptions. These flasks decrease incubation time (by how much depends on the subscription you choose). 

Where can I get Energy Orbs?

There is a wide range of ways to earn Energy Orbs in the game. Talking with Teo in the chatroom is one of the primary ways; you will get orbs sometimes with particular chat responses. Other ways include posting the daily ‘Free Emotion Study’ in the Forbidden Lab, supporting others’ posts in the Free Emotion Study, collecting fees from your Creatures, watching 5 ads per day in the Aurora Lab, interacting in the different planets, unlocking acheivements, and other minor things (such as clicking on the floating blue dots on the Forbidden Lab screen, clicking on the feather in the end of chats, etc). 

Is it okay to incubate all of my Energy Orbs? Will I need them for anything else?

At the moment, it seems that Energy Orbs are only used for two things: being incubated, and as a form of currency if you want to send thank-you notes to people who have supported your posts on the various planets. (It costs one energy to do so) My advice is to get grinding and incubate those orbs-- maybe just save a couple for notes if you want. But otherwise, if you want to progress in the game & earn goodies by unlocking and leveling up planets, you should keep your Incubator busy!

Do I really have to manually click on these orbs and flasks all the darn time?

There is a paid option to purchase an “Incubating Aidbot” in the shop that will automate the process for you. However, as of this moment it costs a whopping 89.99 USD and hahaha, I don’t recommend it. However, it’s really not so bad using the incubator, because Teo pauses a lot during his chats or types pretty slow, so you can use the spare time waiting for him to pop back into the incubator for a bit.

Can I tell what my flasks are going to end up producing while I wait?

If you look very closely at your incubating orbs, there are subtle indicators of what they will become. These indicators are the color of the flask, the presence of a flashing green ring around the orb, and the incubation time.

-A flashing green ring means you will get a large batch of items, rather than a single item.

-A clear flask means you will produce Boredom Emotion. A flask with a colored tint means you are producing an item other than Boredom.

-A flask with an average, short waiting time will be an Emotion. A flask with a medium wait time will likely be a Frequency. A flask with a very long wait time will likely be a Gift.

Is there a limit to how many emotions/frequencies I can store?

Yes, normally PIU-PIU can hold up to 50 emotions/frequencies of each given type. (Except for Boredom, which has a storage limit of 99.) If you pay for a subscription, she can hold more. If you reach her storage limit, you’ll need to spend some of your emotions/frequencies at the planets before you can collect a flask containing an emotion/frequency.

What is that small number at  the top of my Incubation screen?

That number is the amount of energy (in watts) that your Incubator has produced. Every time you incubate something, the total number of energy increases. If you stop incubating for a while, that number slowly decreases. You need energy in order to explore the Infiniate Universe. So if you run out of energy, you’ll need to incubate something before you can visit the planets again. It shouldn’t be too difficult, though; you don’t need much energy to visit the planets, so it won’t take you long. 

The only real thing to worry about is the potential for a softlock. Some players managed to softlock themselves when they let their incubator run completely out of power, left their flasks full of emotions, and had PIU-PIU full to her max storage on emotions-- thus, these players couldn’t visit the planets to spend the emotions, and they couldn’t collect the flasks containing the emotions. They reported this problem to Cheritz, and I believe they have patched it so the softlock is no longer possible. But I am recording it here for now in case it isn’t fixed.

Alright guys this is gonna be a big chunky update on the Digimon fan game stuff

First up: Title screen! I swear I'll make it prettier later it just needs to function right now. Got saving and loading working, and yeah I couldn't think of any better name than "Digimon Quest" so I guess that's what the game's called now

After showing off the Data Bank and Clothing Shop last time I got a couple other important NPCs with jobs.

Cerberumon runs the Item Bank where you can put inventory items into storage. I might add a way to add more storage but right now it's 100 extra slots which seems like a lot but I always hate it when a game is really stingy on item storage so I might have gone a bit overboard lol

Ganemon runs the Bit Bank which is pretty simple. You can store and withdraw your Bits. That's it.

Bulkmon runs the Training Gym and will exchange a Digimon's Training Points (or TP) for a chance to increase their stats. There's three different difficulties for each stat to train (Attack, Defense, Max HP, and Max SP), with higher difficulties giving bigger stat boosts but are harder to succeed at. As mentioned before if you've played Digimon World 3 it's a lot like the Training Gym there, except you can refund your TP to lose any stat bonuses you've gotten but will get all your TP back to try again. Digimon get 1 TP each time they level up and the higher difficulties require more TP per attempt (1, 5, and 10 respectively). Your Digimon gets three attempts to succeed at the training with a bonus fourth attempt if they succeed all three attempts. Even if they fail an attempt, they'll still get a little stat boost, just not nearly as much as succeeding.

I don't need to show every single training type but just to show a couple examples here's the lowest difficulty for Attack.

...And the highest difficulty for Defense. We chose violence today.

HATCHING! This is the best part right getting more Digimon to use. You need to get a DigiEgg, which is a rare drop from enemies or can sometimes be found in the overworld or as quest rewards, plus a shop where you can buy some eggs, though I haven't decided if it uses Bits or maybe data yet. Each egg requires a certain type and amount of data, and once you have enough all you gotta do is put it into the incubator and hatch your new friend. :D

In this example a BlackAgumon DigiEgg needs Dragon, Devil, and Fire data to hatch.

Digimon also now have a bond level that can be increased by doing things like leveling them up or giving them treats they like. I haven't put in any benefits for a high bond level yet but I've got some ideas. Max bond level is 500.

And since I've got Digivolving working, I added a tab to the Digimon menu to view all of their possible evolutions.

If you want to view more info on an evo and their evos you can just click on the information button. You can also set a default Champion, Ultimate, and Mega level Digimon that will be more easily accessible on the sidebar or from a button press so you don't have to navigate through menus every time you wanna Digivolve.

Unfortunately Ultimates (and Megas) probably won't be available right away since I've got enough artwork to get through with just Rookies and Champions to worry about. The framework is in though.

Quests are implemented! I've still got a couple things to mess around with to make sure I can do different types of quests but yeah. Your quest item inventory doesn't run out of room and doesn't take up your main inventory so you can collect as many quests as you want and you'll always be able to get the right items. The quests here are just a bunch of test quests obviously.

Also got a couple things pertaining to enemies/combat. There's now buffs and debuffs that some attacks can have a chance to apply, like Agumon's Pepper Breath has a chance of applying a Burn. I've got a few debuff/buff types right now and I can always put more types in if I feel like it's needed for some type of attack.

The debuffs are: Burn (damage over time), Poison (damage over time plus lowered attack & defense), Leech (steals health from the target), Drain (steals SP from the target), Glitch (prevents use of Special Attacks), Weaken (lowers attack), Enfeeble (lowers defense), Stun (prevents movement), and Paralysis (lowers movement speed).

The buffs are: Heal (heals health), Restore (restores SP), Strengthen (raises attack), Bolster (raises defense), Shield (prevents damage), Counter (attacks enemy when attacked), and Speedup (raises movement speed).

If you don't remember all of those you can see what buff/debuff your partner or your enemies have by hovering over them so a little tooltip pops up. You can also see the duration for each buff/debuff.

I can't tell if we're screwed or not.

I also put in a small feature where you can click on an enemy to focus on them and keep their healthbar at the top of the screen. It won't make attacks automatically aim at them or anything but it's nice to see all the info of whatever enemy you want to focus on.

Aaaand I've got a storage system working for extra Digimon you don't want in your party. You can freely swap between party and storage and organize them however you want. I don't have a hard number on how many pages of storage you would get but I'll decide that soon, right now it's only 4 pages. You can probably unlock more somehow. Clicking on a Digimon will also bring up a little info window that doesn't have as much info as the Digimon Menu but it's info you might want to see at a glance for your Digimon in storage.

Oh and I either totally spaced on this last time or hadn't implemented it yet, but I've put in items that can be equipped to your Digimon. Each Digimon can only hold one of each type of item but there's two slots to use. I've only put in items that can give you a close-range attack (gloves) and a long-range shooting attack (wand) but there'll probably be all sorts of items that won't necessarily give you another type of attack but will do something else when equipped. Both of these items give you a Neutral element attack but other types of gloves and wands can give you elemental attacks.

OKAY I think that's everything whew. The next things I'm going to work on is a framework for achievements and maybe something along the line of Tamer perks that you can use to get upgrades or bonus stuff as you level up. I don't know if I'll be fully implementing them but I at least want to get the framework ready for whenever I do put them in.

And then after that it's time to knuckle down and DRAW DRAW DRAW and start building the actual game wow exciting!! I'll keep showing progress on sprites once I get back to them. :D

this is not at all the type of post i make cause.. no one gives a single shit about My Singing Monsters but it's MY special interest and i get to finally post about it cause i have things to say!!

i fucking hate magical nexus. since 2016 i have NEVER gotten pissed off so badly by an update in this game.

things wrong with the island/song itself: -the song should've come in waves. not only does that give time for newer players to focus on which monsters to bring to level 18 (will get to that later), it makes the song more impactful once the last few waves come -because for what it's meant to be, nexus' song is very much just ok, it's nothing mindblowing or particularly interesting, and by releasing the full thing at once, it's already over. the island's hype is stupidly short lived. -the island desing is marvelous and i am rather excited to see more of the stair shaper's lore, but that's about it for the positive notes i have.

things wrong with the mechanics: -do i have to get started on how absurd levelling up to EIGHTEEN is?? i wasted three million treats on fluoress only! and with the weird mechanic of the nexus' reward being based off how many monsters you have on the island (and still, you're more likely to get SHARDS over anything, as per usual), there's barely any return reward. -i hate the massive increase in incubating time. fluoress is 2-3 hours, but on nexus all 1 elements are 20. i don't even want to know what a two element's time is like. -again, i haven't tried for two element or beyond monsters yet, but the cost of transposing so far is A MILLION. after all the money wasted on treats you have to pay ANOTHER million to just take them to another island.

things wrong with the concept of the island itself: -this part is purely my subjective opinion (well, the whole thing is but this is way more personal, feel free to disagree). -i don't see the reason for another magical island. of course i loved to see some of the "impure" (for lack of a better term) magical monsters make a return, but with they messy way they established the island, it felt like the purpose and impact was lost. -i ADORE magical sanctum. it is genuinely one of my favorite islands. so i held high expectations for nexus and they simply didn't hold up. it makes me think they should've ended the magical class expansion on sanctum. -all other class islands existed for the purpose of expanding on the class. ethereal island expanded on the ethereals on the naturals islands, and etheral workshop expands on the unstable ethereals that were preciously impossible to acquire without synthetic production. nexus doesn't expand. the only thing it serves to expand on is the lore of the stair shaper, and even THAT is severely lacking TLDR; the new island is way too expensive to make it worth pursuing 100%, the song is mid at best and lacked impact and the lore is too weak to be a meaningful expansion. this island shouldn't be here at all.

Will Shaped the Upside Down

Season 4 honed in a lot on the idea that El "shaped" Vecna and made him become what he is today. She shooed him off to an ultimate dimension where he grew in strength, opened a gateway and allowed him back into their world, and now look where we are.

Of course, Henry has no one to blame but himself. It's not El's fault he's a murderous weirdo. But I digress. This brings me to an interesting topic of discussion. The "shape" of the Upside Down.

As we saw, the Upside Down was a yellowish plain completely alien to our world. Floating structures, evil clouds of doom, hungry flowers shaped like men, quite a sight to see. But for some reason in the present, the Upside Down is now shaped like Hawkins and it is blue.

I'm pointing out colors here because I think it's important. In this thread, you will see that they have actually updated the graphics for the Upside Down. In part 1, it was red. In part 2, it's been updated to yellow.

Something, or someone between 1979 and 1983 reshaped the Upside Down into what we know and don't love today. For reasons I will explain, I believe Will accidentally made the Upside Down reflect Hawkins the night he was taken.

If we look back at Vecna's speech to younger El, he talked a lot about how "Together, we can reshape the world to how we see fit." This appears to still be his goal. When he's speaking to older El, he still says something like "I will be there to pick up the pieces when Hawkins falls. I will remake it into something beautiful."

He's very focused on "reshaping" the world to what he believes is beautiful. He is an artist after all. So where does Will come in?

On the one hand, I feel as though Will was taken by Vecna on purpose. That Will had some kind of latent abilities Vecna could sniff out and he moved his chess pieces around (the Demogorgon) to cross paths with him and inevitably kidnap him into the Upside Down.

On the other hand, I also feel like Will really was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and was just like ever other Demogorgon victim… but something happened when he got taken there.

The once yellow landscape suddenly got overwritten with something else. Like a snapshot or a painting, the Upside Down "under" Hawkins BECAME Hawkins. A weird cold empty duplicate of Hawkins. I'm thinking in the heat of the moment, in the absolute panic of facing a creature like the Demogorgon and getting swept away into an alternate dimension (which is no doubt extremely traumatizing), Will accidentally painted the Upside Down in his image. We mustn't forget, Will is an artist too after all.

Of course, it's hard to not take notice of such a thing happening. Maybe originally Will was meant to just be another tasty snack, but when Vecna took notice of what was happening, Will was spared his fate (and subjected to much worse things). You see, a lot of people argue, "He was just meant to be a slug incubator", but I still don't think that's the entire story.

The Demogorgon still maimed and killed ALL it's victims. Barb, Bob, the Russians, the two hunters off screen, the deer. Every single one of them. Will did not have a scratch on him. He was malnourished and probably suffering from hypothermia, but he did not have any physical injuries. That alone makes him different from every other victim of the Upside Down.

This brings us to season 2. Note, Will has not yet been possessed at the beginning of season 2. He just has some kind of strange connection to the Upside Down and/or that still persists to this day. At the beginning of season 2 when Will is speaking to Owens, he says the "evil" wanted to kill. "Not me. Everyone else," he said.

This very much lines up with the idea that Vecna is aware of Will's ability to shape the Upside Down. No, he doesn't want to kill Will. But he wants to conscript him. To "reshape the world", which he knows Will can do. He originally wanted El at his side for this purpose, but now, he's already found a new target to fulfill his desires. Another kid very similar to him just like El was. An artist even.

Kinda fits, doesn't it?

Kyubey, Puella Magi, and other Basic Concepts

This post is about what is known about magical girl concepts from Madoka Magica and Magia Record, and is just a basic introductory to those concepts. This is also a pop culture paganism and magic post rather than a fandom one.

This post does include spoilers, so if you haven't seen Madoka Magica, Rebellion, and Magia Record, keep that in mind before reading.

note: the sections about Kyubey, Contracts, Wishes, Karmic Destiny, and Soul Gems are more about practice, while the parts about the Law of Cycles, Doppels, and Homuraverse lean a little more into the belief/pop culture paganism side of things, while they can also have a place in practice.

Kyubey

From a magical perspective, Kyubey has similarities with Fae, as his primary purpose is to make contracts with humans (primarily girls to make them magical girls, while there are possibly some exceptions) and is frequent to lie by withholding details and other ways that are perceived by humans as tricks.

This is because the Incubators are an emotionless alien race, considering emotions a defect, and Kyubey only emulates emotions and other traits as a means of communicating with humans in a way that will increase the chances of becoming magical girls. As such, Kyubey is genderless despite having a masculine pronoun of being referred to as he/him, which is likely part of the ruse of being a likable animal-like companion that makes wishes to be appealing to to-be magical persons.

Think about Kyubey as a Magical Girl/Person's sales representative, giving the magical girl pitch and acting all cute and friendly as a front to get people to sign up, but once they learn about the truth, Kyubey's nature as a part of an emotionless species is revealed. With the front gone, Kyubey usually won't bother to emulate emotions such as caring about the well being of others, apologizing, etc., so I wouldn't get your hopes up about that since it's all fake to begin with, and Kyubey and the Incubators can only emulate emotions at best.

Contracts

At the center of each contract is a wish, which needs to be made for someone to become a magical girl, and can be anything that an individual wants.

Though in exchange, a person's soul is removed from their body, and made into an object/vessel referred to as a soul gem. Inactive soul gems are an object that can be carried, or can even changed into more wearable forms like rings.

Along with their wish being granted in the anime, magic is given to the individual, and varies based on their wish (ex. Sayaka receiving healing magic after wishing for someone to be healed)

There's also apparently a rule that means Kyubey can't suggest what wish to make, but the reasoning for which and if that's true is unclear aside from how he's never seen making suggestions on what to wish for. This could be so that wishes are made by humans by choice and of their own free will, so that when they learn the truth, the Incubators can't be blamed for any of it.

Karmic Destiny

Another aspect of wishes is karmic destiny, which in short, is kind of like what and how much influence you have on the world around you, or what specifically it affects and to what degree. Like with Madoka, all of the timelines Homura went through converge around Madoka because of her wish to save her, giving her more potential/karmic destiny because her actions now affect the world and those around her on a more grand scale.

So, the more personal or involved the the things you want to affect as part of your wish are, the easier it will be to make things manifest. Ex. Sayaka wanted to heal Kyosuke, and since the two of them are close, this was relatively easier to do compared to things like Madoka's wish.

Homura's wish was also relatively simple, though it was able to overcome entropy since the grief output amounted to more than her wish when using her ability in succession to live the same month over and over, giving Madoka a more notable karmic destiny because she became the center of several major events, and everything she does then affects all of it.

In short, that's how she has such a major karmic destiny, and with this concept, should consider what kind of wish you most want to make, and how easy or difficult it will be to manifest. In short, a wish that can't be manifested easily or in general won't be of much help.

As long as your wish is within the scope of your karmic destiny/influence, then it should be easily to manifest after making a wish. Just be sure to word it exactly the way you want, and that it's something that you want, so that there isn't any misunderstanding or regretting your wish later.

Wording it wrong can have unpredictable or undesirable effects, and if there's something you might want more, you should rethink your possible wish and why you want to make it.

It also isn't recommended to wish for something temporary/small (like passing a test or relatively minor things like that) or that you might want to go back on later, since this will lead to regret.

Your personal reason for it is just as important as everything else, and the possible after effects that might happen as a result of your wish.

A contract with Kyubey is no small or inconsequential matter, as hope and despair balance each other out, just as the show emphasizes, and you should make sure you're doing it for a reason that does right by you so you won't have any regrets later.

The Law of Cycles

As a result of her wish, Madoka successfully prevented the birth of all witches, including her own, which effectively rewrote the universe and “ascended” to be more like a magical girl deity, being forgotten by most of the world in the process, spare for Homura and a few others.

Also because of this, the Law of Cycles is the new system she made that prevents the birth of witches. In this new universe, magical girls disappear when their magic is used up, as turning into witches is now impossible. The grief also instead manifests as Wraiths, also appearing in larger numbers, which is what magical girls must then fight, receiving cube-shaped “Grief Seeds” after they are defeated.

At the same time, Madoka has also become a concept, and can also be responsible for the Law of Cycles first hand, with new abilities like being able to see all of the timelines that were, are, and will be as they are related to magical girls. This doesn't make her omnipotent, as when it comes to universes and timelines, they are something that she can personally look through rather than be completely aware of, such as how she finds the Magia Record timeline, and that there's a metaphor about how each timeline/universe is like a record that she can listen to.

With being responsible for the Law of Cycles, as it is part of her wish and something she made, it has also been described as “omnipresent,” but not self-aware, ex. the concept isn't present in pocket dimensions such as the one in Rebellion, and can't influence it unless it's allowed to.

This concept/The Law of Cycles can be split from Madoka, and Madoka can split from the Law of Cycles in turn, as she is where this concept originates from because of her wish. This kind of thing takes place in the Rebellion movie, and the Law of Cycles was entrusted to Sayaka and Nagisa until it could be returned to Madoka as part of her plan, and when Homura separated Madoka from the Law of Cycles later.

To put it simply, the Law of Cycles is a creation born from Madoka's wish, and is something that she can “pilot” now that she has also become a concept that's forgotten by most of the universe.

In Rebellion, Madoka and the Law of Cycles are treated as separate, with Madoka assuming a place within the Law of Cycles at certain times, which allows her to personally see to the erasure of witches.

Lastly, those taken in by the Law of Cycles have overcome their grief in a way, which can be harnessed as their Witch Forms as a separate entity from themselves, as seen when Sayaka and her Witch form are both present in Rebellion, and she can use it to fight.

This concept is comparable to shadow work, as those that achieve this have overcome/come to terms with their grief, despair, and overall negative sides, and as such, are able to use/work along with their Witch Forms.

“Homuraverse”

Though by the end of the Rebellion (the movie that takes place after the first anime), Homura separated Madoka from the Law of Cycles, rewriting the universe where the Law of Cycles presumably operates separately so Madoka can live a normal life. By doing this, Homura becomes a “demon” relative to Madoka in that she rebels against the system of the Law of Cycles by rewriting the universe, where in this metaphor Madoka is seen as a magical girl deity because of her wish.

After doing this, that universe is rewritten again, where Madoka lives a normal life for the time being until she will eventually remember the truth and regain her divinity, and makes Kyubey and the Incubators bear the curses of the world.

Magia Record and the Doppel Effect

The events of Magia Record as a side story presumably only occurs once, meaning that Doppels don't exist in any other timeline.

This is also the only timeline Iroha makes a contract, her wish being to cure Ui, and Ui and her friends make contracts to protect Iroha by taking Kyubey's power (thinking it will prevent the creation of witches) which doesn't work, and the events that follow lead to the creation of the Doppel system.

This system ultimately fails because they tried to change the Incubator's system by using Kyubey's powers, and is only a temporary solution since magical girls require regular coordination of their soul gem so that they don't fuse with their Doppel. This leaves two major outcomes, where magical girls attempt to avoid turning into witches through Doppel use, which is dangerous because of the risks of fusing with Doppels, or turning into a Witch anyway.

In short, Doppels are a manifestation of a magical girl's despair that happens instead of a magical girl turning into a Witch, cleansing a soul gem of impurities in the process. Though if they use their Doppels too many times, too often, or without coordination, they fuse with their Doppel and get out of control.

Overall, the Doppel system is incompatible with the Law of Cycles, as it is an alternative purification system where there mostly aren't Witches, and is dependent on regular coordination to prevent fusing with a Doppel, posing a risk to those that use Doppels, and has negative effects for normal humans as well.

Though as shown at the end of the anime, this timeline is one that Madoka is aware of as the Law of Cycles, hence the name of the show and the book being given to her by Iroha being called Magia Record, whether it's metaphorical or literal, Madoka does seem to know about it.

Contracts Part 2

Before making a contract, there are some things to know and consider, and just as is done in the show and with more information to a certain degree.

Be sure that what you want to wish for is important enough to you to be worth the risk, just as the characters usually don't make a wish right away, and motive and other factors are also important, not to mention the rules of your contract.

For that, I would refer to other posts on how to make Fae Contracts, as they are useful if there are some things you want personalized about a contract with Kyubey for your own safety. This can be done with whatever medium you prefer, and some examples are on paper, a digital document, etc., and how and you go about the timing and some of the other specifics of a contract is also up to you.

Rules and conditions to keep Kyubey in line are useful, though as a ground safety rule, making sure that the contract can't be altered without your permission is recommended. This doesn't change the aspects of being a magical person, it just binds Kyubey from overstepping in ways such as lying or interfering in ways that affect your well being or that of others you're close to.

Before making a contract, some things to keep in mind are that no matter whether you follow/the center of your practice is the Law of Cycles, Doppel Effect, or the “Homuraverse”, and etc., despair is part of the deal and process, and you'll likely have to deal with magic use resulting in soul gem corruption, and fighting with witches, wraiths, or other entities, as previously described.

In this process, such entities are typically fought via means of astral traveling, projecting, and etc., though if you have another way to perform magi activities that is unique/better works for you and does work, then that's okay too.

To track or find labyrinths in general, your soul gem can help to do that, glowing to indicate a trail is found, and the amount or brightness of the glow can indicate how close or far it is, though you will still have to do some astral searching even with this method.

Also, like with others in the Fae category, it may be a good idea to come up with a name for Kyubey to call you, which is mostly a good magical practice anyway, as the more personal/true name you have should be kept to yourself, especially when it comes to fae, so that other people don't have that window for control over you.

If such risks, despair, and other possible consequences are worth making this kind of contract (which you should be thinking carefully about anyway), then this should be a decision you make with full awareness of what it will be like, as there are dangers/risks even if you do get a wish out of it.

Soul Gems

Post-Contract, soul gems are typically an external construct that exists outside of your vessel, but if you have an object you would like to make linked to or representative of your soul gem to make astral travel or cleansing it easier, that is possible, and can do this during or after making your contract, while if this is something you want to do, it could be easier to do when the contract is first made or better established from the beginning.

Overall, whether it's linked to an object or not, it should be kept close to you at all times, and conversion to a more portable form like rings (or even simultaneously being linked to or given a physical ring as a form/holder/vessel) are also some options. These are all just some ideas, and you're free to decide how to carry your soul gem/keep it with you however you like and create your own methods for achieving this.

The Magia Record game also provided this insight on elements of soul gems and how they relate to each other, while it's primarily a game mechanic, it also has some uses. Though this should not be an exclusive chart, as there may be some exceptions or other elements discovered in practice.

Void is an element that doesn't have much combat uses for some reason, and is one primarily used by coordinators in Magia Record.

The other elements are Light and Dark, and then Fire, Forest, and Water, each of which have relative advantages and disadvantages to each other.

Wishes

Lastly, seeing as magic is complicated and not something that usually acts instantly, from a magic perspective, wishes should be considered similar to a spell in that it makes something more likely or manifests something specific in your life, all depending on what you wish for. In short, you should still put in personal effort and actions like usual anyway, just as you would with a spell instead of expecting that the spell will do all of the heavy lifting for you, just in case.

Territory

Also be mindful of where you go to hunt witches, as there are territories claimed by others, and not all of them will let you off easy. Sometimes there is neutral ground that no one has a sole claim to and/or anyone is allowed to hunt on, but having your own territory marked out can make it easier for yourself and others, and the rules for that area would then be up to you.

When it comes to others, fights do happen, and should be wary about that as well. If someone doesn't accept the rules you put in place or enters your territory without permission, or even the opposite, it's up to the “moderator” how they want to respond or if they want to do anything about it.

Useful Skills to Know

• Energy work/manipulation (primarily for soul gems)

• making contracts with Fae, Fae communication, etc.

• spirit/astral communication in general

• astral travel, projection, lucid dreaming, meditation, etc. (primarily for the purpose of hunting witches, though this can be done however you prefer)

• self-care; this is the most important skill to have, as hope and despair work in a balance just as elements of nature and other things do. Be mindful of the state of your soul gem, and your mental health as well. If things are getting difficult, reach out to others for help if you can, and take time and breaks for yourself as often as possible/as needed.

I ask for sibling headcanons of Iota, Hotel, Omega, 7 (I think that's her name) and Eko

7's new name is Project Seven, I still have to fix her tag and update her ref post.

Eko is India's oldest kid (she's in her early 30s now), Hotel and Iota are the oldest of her Project children, having been made a month before Omega, who is Adam and Eve's kid instead. Seven's incubation finished a couple weeks after Hotel and Iota's, making her the middle child. Eko is the oldest daughter, Hotel is the oldest son.

Hotel's technically the most powerful of the siblings, and he hates it. It's why he gets the most attention from Adam, while Iota and Omega are still mistreated but mostly ignored since their energy types are less favorable. Seven gets the same amount of heat since she's surprisingly pretty powerful as well, but is more peaceful.

Iota's the tallest of her siblings, Hotel is the shortest. She never lets him live it down.

Hotel and Omega are kind of awkward around each other, but they do get along as well as half-brothers with the same shitty dad can. While Omega tries to be brave like his older brother, Hotel's usually the one to stand up for them when one of their bullies decides to have some fun, which never ends well for either of the brothers.

Seven is adopted, and joined the flock a few months after everyone was made. Whether or not she does in fact share AI with India is dubious at best, although they look similar enough to make it seem that way.

The four are very close-knit and usually stick together, and secrets rarely travel outside their group to avoid Adam finding out anything that would lead to them getting punished.

Omega has other siblings (Eve's a bit of a ho), but they didn't get along with him, so he hung out with Hotel, Iota and Seven instead.

All four of them adore India, and she would always be the recipient of mother's day gifts (since Eve wanted nothing from Omega). Adam never got any, not that he cared.

Since she's the toughest sibling, Iota's usually the one to stand up to bullies, since a bunch of their classmates seem out to torture them (especially Hotel since they can get away with beating up "Adam's tiny clone"). No one fucks with Iota.

Seven's ice is good for relieving pain and burns, so the siblings usually stay together after Adam takes out his anger on them since her ice can heal the wounds they sustain from his claws and energy.

Iota was very open about being a lesbian, but it took a lot of encouragement to get Hotel to come out to them. They tried to keep it a secret from the flock, as well as his relationship with Sierra, but some will do anything to claim a higher rank... including out Hotel to everyone, including his dad, in order to please Eve. Things work out in the end, but during that time, Hotel is very closed off from everyone, including his siblings, who also got punished for keeping secrets.

Since Spark is no longer canon, I'm still work-shopping how she would first meet her siblings, but she's pretty chill with them since the Projects don't really hunt Workers and are generally harmless unless provoked (although some like Jet or Eve like terrorizing them when giving the opportunity).

Hotel was the first of the four to meet Eko, and she earned his respect quickly. She was also able to repair the damage in his legs, allowing him to use them without as much pain. She also helped him with physical therapy once the flock disbanded and Adam was killed.

It takes Eko some time to get used to the presence of four new siblings but she gets used to it pretty quickly. There's definitely sibling bickering, but she's fond of them and is happy to have them in her life. She enables them goofing around and doing stupid shit since they weren't allowed to as kids.
