Ugh I've hit a huge wall with my Difficult Days resolution/final chapter. I know what I want to happen, but I'm not sure how to bridge the gap.

Anyone have tips on brainstorming or getting the creative juices flowing?

seven sentence sunday

i wasn't planning to post anything this week, mostly because i feel like that little dandelion strung out in the breeze and at an impasse about what to write. stuck on everything right now! trawling my google docs like What Next?! and complaining to anyone who will listen. if someone knows the answer, hmu.

also, thank you to everyone who has given me feedback on alta, that also keeps me going like a man in a desert searching for water and i owe you all my non-existent firstborn.

In another universe – one in which Carlos was a braver man and TK was a little less prickly – Carlos might have asked him to dance. He wants to ask him to dance, wants to watch TK move in time to the music, or out of time, perhaps. He wants to hear TK's laugh and watch the way a flush rises on his cheeks. He wants to touch TK accidentally and then maybe with more purpose, drag him into a bathroom stall and kiss him breathless. He doesn’t even know if TK is into guys. He just has a feeling, and an inescapable attraction. In reality, he wants TK to be into guys. More specifically, into Carlos.

I’m trying out a new planning strategy for my current WIP, where, instead of making specific chapter outlines, I’m just creating a general checklist of things (plot points, specific scenes, character arcs etc) that need to be included in the story at some point or another. My reasoning when making this decision was that it would help take the pressure off and keep my writing feeling organic whilst still making sure I include everything I need to, but, um, I didn’t envision the checklist being 40+ items long, and I think I might need to reevaluate this approach… 😅

Did I make any meaningful progress on my longfic today? No. But did I write 2500 words of fluffy, shameless porn? I sure as hell did.

Currently struggling under the realization that I need my ocs to be smarter than I am.

Do I know how to successfully keep an off-the-grid rebellion of fifty+ people fed and sheltered? No. Does my oc need to know? Yep.

Do I know how to effectively get rid of the corruption in government without going full anarchy but also without copping out and slapping a band-aid on the deeply entrenched issues? Also no.

Y'all... This isn't my area of expertise.

Being obsessed with making and posting art also means coming to terms with the fact that I sadly AM a slow artist and can spend over an hour on a sketch alone. I have so many ideas and things I want to draw, but I'm just so damn slow and all the ideas I previously had have either been replaced or trippled by the time I finish what I had been working on. It's such a demotivating struggle and makes me prone to sloppily rushing because of frustration.

When I see the end product, I can at least give myself credit that I have finished it, though. Maybe it's all worth it in the end.

(And hey, at least I'm not a stupid fucking A.I "artist" fuck those guys).
