I lied I'm a big fat liar I'm back with another question because this one just came to mind.
You said that Moon, as a nod to his tiki theme, is painted/meant to appear as though he's made of wood. Does that mean Sun is made to look like stone? :D
Ok ^this one on my end I still need to figure out because yes he is modeled after Aztec sculptures but they also painted their works it’s just over time the paint has come off. I will have to see what works best for Sun and his character, but could you imagine how absolutely horrifying it would be if Sun looked just like a stone statue!!!
A new guest arrives and every time they turn around that odd tall statue seems like it is slowly getting closer. Sun taking sneaky statues to the next level.
Also I don’t think I mentioned that this is what suns rays are based on

By integrating a store locator plugin into your WordPress website, customers can effortlessly find your store locations, access essential information like operating hours, and get accurate directions—all from the convenience of their mobile devices.
What is a Store Locator Plugin?
A store locator plugin enables businesses to display a list of their physical locations on their website, often with interactive maps and filtering options. For WordPress users, these plugins are straightforward to install and customize, ensuring seamless user experience. Customers can search for the nearest store, get directions, and even learn about the services available at each location.
Why Every Retailer Needs One
Improved Customer Experience: A store locator plugin makes it easy for customers to find the nearest store and view essential details, enhancing their shopping experience.
Better SEO: Search engines favor websites that provide users with practical and valuable information. A store locator plugin adds local SEO benefits, helping your locations rank higher in search results.
Increased Foot Traffic: By enabling customers to find stores more easily, these plugins can help drive traffic to your brick-and-mortar locations, leading to higher sales and conversions.
Benefits of Using a Store Locator Plugin on Your WordPress Site
The advantages of a store locator plugin are vast and can positively impact your business's online presence. Let’s explore these benefits in more detail:

Below the cut is a template email to send to Edinburgh Pride regarding sponsorship from Aegon, who have investments linked to the genocide in Palestine. Please feel free to use this text or edit it and make it your own and send it to [email protected]
Dear Edinburgh Pride,
As a queer person living in Edinburgh, I was deeply saddened to learn that the march partner for Edinburgh Pride 2024 is Aegon.
In December 2023 the ‘Don’t Buy Into Occupation Coalition’ published a report that showed Aegon have US$564million invested via shares and bonds in companies operating in illegal settlements in Occupied Palestinian Territories. Source: https://dontbuyintooccupation.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2023_DBIO-III-Report_11-December-2023.pdf
We are watching a live-streamed genocide every day - over 36,000 people in Palestine have been murdered by Israeli forces, including at least 15,000 children. The brutality of these atrocities are unthinkable, with evidence of torture and targeting of hospitals, ambulances and refugee camps.
We all have a responsibility to do what we can to end this genocide. As queer people, we are part of a rich history of resisting oppression and dehumanisation - of both ourselves and those we stand in solidarity with. Pride started as a protest against homophobia, transphobia and police violence. It is an important moment to come together as a community to celebrate queer joy and resilience.
But how can we celebrate using profits stained with the blood of our siblings in Palestine?
Aegon has $564million invested in companies that have been listed by the UN as “raising human rights concerns” for their operations in illegal settlements in Occupied Palestinian Territories, In 1948, 750,000 Palestinian people were displaced from their homes and lands and since then, Israeli settlements have been used to spread this process of colonisation.
In addition to this figure, Aegon also has major investments in Eaton Corp Plc., who supply parts for helicopters and fighter jets to the Israeli military and have recently been the target of major protests at their factory in Dorset. They also invest in Amazon, who support the Israeli military with surveillance technology used against Palestians.
Israel has long used ‘pinkwashing’ as a tactic to justify the brutal repression of Palestinians, using queer people to legitimise this horrific violence. We refuse to allow this to be done in our name.
The tide is turning on companies like Aegon that profit from investments in the companies complicit in genocide. Recently, both Hay and Edinburgh Book Festival have dropped Baillie Gifford as a sponsor after over 800 authors called on them to divest from companies involved in Israel and the fossil fuel industry.
I ask that Edinburgh Pride:
Calls on Aegon to commit to divest from companies involved in supplying technology to Israel and operating in illegal settlements.
Drop Aegon as a sponsor until they are able to show evidence of divestment.
Publicly call for a ceasefire and a free Palestine.
There is no pride in genocide.
I look forward to hearing your response.

England doesn’t have a North-South divide. But if it did have one, Cornwall would be in the North.
Now I’m not saying there isn’t a big geographical divide between like, Manchester and Canterbury, or that the country’s a homogeneous patchwork, what I’m saying is this divide isn’t north-south and thinking about it as such masks a lot of things.
Oh, and I am, for necessity of discussing this divide, going to be ignoring the Midlands. I hope you forgive me ignoring the deep cultural ties between Birmingham and Rutland.
Map Men made a video about the North-South divide in England (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENeCYwms-Cc&ab_channel=JayForeman), which focused on the line determined by Danny Dorling in 2008.
Tumblr media
… Which isn’t a north-south divide. It’s a northwest-southeast divide, going up at more than 45 degrees – it’s more an east-west divide than it is a north-south. It also includes Wales in “the North” but we’ll get to that.
But it was a north-south divide he set out to find, so a north-south divide he sort of drew, excluding exclaves and enclaves where the metrics he was looking at would make that not a north-south divide.
Notably, several would seem to put the west country peninsula in “the North”… So what’s up with that?
(Dorling's full paper is here, and I recommend looking through the whole thing to see how he arrived at the divide he eventually concluded: https://www.dannydorling.org/wp-content/files/dannydorling_publication_id2938.pdf)
Anyway. This is what’s up with that:
Tumblr media
This is a geological map of Great Britain (and the Isle of Man, which isn’t actually part of the UK or any of its constituent countries but I guess it’s here anyway.)
Here again, in the boundary between Jurassic and Triassic geology, is that diagonal line from the Humber to the Severn, but continuing past both. For convenience, here are those two lines superimposed on one another.
Tumblr media
With Danny Dorling’s line (frequently following county boundaries or other administrative boundaries) in blue, and the geological divide in red.
One line was drawn in 2008, the other has existed over 200 million years.
This isn’t a coincidence – it’s the reason for the divide.
What made “the North” is the industrial revolution. And one thing that drove the industrial revolution was the mines: coal, iron, silver, tin, the rocks beneath our feet and the people who dreamed they were worth more than the people they sent into the dark to bring it into the light.
Towns grew around mines, from Walker to South Crofty, and more than just the mines defining them, it was the mines closing that would cement the divide.
“Byker Hill and Walker Shore, collier lads forever more”
“Cornish lads are fishermen and Cornish lads are miners too”
- Two folk songs about regional identity’s roots in its industry, from opposite ends of this dividing line
In the West Midlands, the Black Country didn’t earn that name with caviar; it, like Manchester and Leeds, reinvented itself when the industry collapsed: cities built in the brick ruins of the temples built to the exploitation of the workers, blackened by the smokes of the cremation of its labour industry. When the light catches the steel and glass just right, you can still see the ghosts.
Even the country life outside the cities is shaped by this geology: the terrain north-west of this line doesn’t lend itself to large, flat expanses of land for arable farming, and the divide is visible again when looking at agriculture:
Tumblr media
With the majority of land south of the Jurassic-Triassic line being arable, mixed and market gardening, with a fair amount of cattle in the Cotswolds and Chilterns and along the north side of the Thames, and the majority north-west of it being cattle and sheep – which are almost absent from the south side of the divide with the exception of the Isle of Wight and therefore, ironically, Cowes.
Not all farming is the same, the yearly flow of labour and of marketable goods between livestock and arable having little in common beyond being intensive work out-of-doors and taking huge amounts of land to accomplish.
But one thing that also goes hand in hand with this is that sheep aren’t mostly farmed for their meat but for their wool, and what drove industrialisation in the Pennines was the steam-loom: the mechanisation and mass-production of wool.
(Incidentally, on this map arable farming and market gardening also correlate with several types of English traditional dance: Molly, Border an East Midlands and East Riding plough dances, which began as a way for seasonal farmhands to make ends meet by busking with menaces in the winter off-season, but that’s for a later Morris ramble).
But hang on, that puts Hull on the same side of the divide as Kent, not, for example, Liverpool. So what gives there?
The East Riding isn’t built on mining - a kid with a bucket and spade could find the water table in most of the county.
Hull, and other ports of Yorkshire with it, was built on whaling – and not many industries have collapsed harder than whaling. For once, the geography of the land has little impact on this, but the geography of the sea does:
Between England and the European continent is a shallower stretch of sea called Dogger Bank – named for the Dutch cod-fishing boats known as Doggers which fished on it. But shallow water isn’t great for whales. So where is there water good for whales?
Well, whalers from Great Britain would venture as far as the Antarctic ocean in search of whales, and often hunted off Greenland – but there was water closer to home where whales did and still do frequent:
Tumblr media
(There is still whaling in the North Sea. Around 500 minke whales are killed by Norwegian whalers each year “in objection to” the global ban on commercial whaling.)
Outside of this, there’s also a divide between port cities dealing primarily in cargo or primarily in passengers, something which is somewhat evening out by one means or another, but here’s a current map of UK passenger ports and their passenger numbers:
Tumblr media
Or at least circles sized to correspond to their passenger numbers - source with stats: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/sea-passenger-statistics-all-routes-2021/sea-passenger-statistics-all-routes-2021
Compare this with a map of cargo ports by load:
Tumblr media
Source with numbers: https://safety4sea.com/uk-ports-record-steady-performance-during-2018/
Generally showing passenger numbers getting lower the further you get from Dover, but not the same correlation with cargo (Plymouth and Holyhead both bucking this trend at a glance).
So, if not “The North” and “The South”, what name does make sense for this divide?
I propose “the South” be known as Lloegyr.
Tumblr media
These names still exist: Domnonea still exists in Brittany both as a name for that same region from which Brittonic settlers came to Brittany and an area of Brittany named for them, and in Welsh, yr Alban is Scotland, Cymru is Wales and Lloegr is England.
Wales isn’t part of “the North”. “The North” is part of Wales.

any expectations/predictions about the DLC you might like to share, Mr Dreamo?
(This is about the Elden Ring DLC)
My expectations are very high, because FromSoft has always done their very best on DLCs to their games, due to a strong internal culture of taking in criticisms of their base games and trying to rectify them while elevating their base, solid formula. It's why they tend to take a while with DLC: They don't immediately go into DLC development as soon as their base game ends, at least not in full (they likely do conceptual groundwork and all the sundry parts you don't really need a lot of feedback for, like world assets and such), they always take their sweet time cranking out those bad boys, and it always feels like they address the weaknesses of their base games in their DLC.
So to hear that this is the biggest expansion they've ever produced as a company is not surprising at all: Elden Ring is, by far, their biggest game. And not only that, they managed to make an open world game that actually feels full. Miyazaki mentioned in an interview that the DLC map will be as big, if not bigger, than Limgrave, and Limgrave in terms of size alone is like a fourth of the base game, so That's Pretty Impressive (though... Is he counting the Weeping Peninsula in there? WP is part of Limgrave so I assume he is but there was no specificity). There's also apparently 8 new equipment categories, which is kind of insane to me? Likely they'll have 1-3 weapons each obviously but making 8 new equipment types is also pretty ambitious. We saw Dueling Shields, and we've heard rumors of odachi as well (Walmart Mortal Blade real?), and I will be cautious in my enthusiasm and assume it won't be 8 new weapon types specifically (probably some kooky meme items there like the double door shields or some gimmick torch with attacks from DS3, wouldn't be Fromsoft without clown nose equipment) but new weapon types outright is in fact a perfect way to revitalize a game further. All I want is for the new weapons to be relatively easily accessed for new characters instead of necessarily an endgame or NG+ deal unless you're willing to kill endgame bosses with a very low level character so we can do full NG runs with these new toys (see: Moonlight Greatsword runs or Rakuyo runs in Bloodborne. Have fun REALLY learning Ludwig and Maria on no-hit formats! Hope you brought plenty Fire and Bolt Paper, respectively!)
And my biggest hope, perhaps even cope, is that the triple flying kicks we saw in the trailer are Martial Arts weapons and not just an Ash of War. If the Bone Fist from DS2 finally returns in spirit, you will catch me dropkicking player and god alike until the end of time.

Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy Rulebook June 21st 2024 Update and Changelog
Tumblr media
youtube
This isn’t the first Thursday of a month, but it is a special occasion sort of. Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy won the vote in the A.N.I.M. TTRPG Book Club, so we rushed out an update to make sure the book club could play with the newest and most up to date rules possible, and in doing so there ended up being a lot more changes done than expected in a very short time, and a lot of them are really exciting. Here’s a few highlights:
The Heat mechanic which tracks police investigation of the PCs’ activities has been fully finished.
Several stretch goals have been completed.
Two (sort of) new playable monsters: The Living Doll and an alternate way to play a Witch.
Also, the playable vampire monster type has been revamped, with about 100% more religious theming.
If you would like to meet the A.N.I.M. team and even have a chance to play Eureka with us, you can join the A.N.I.M. TTRPG Book Club discord server. It’s also just a great place to talk and discuss TTRPGs, so there is no schedule obligation, but the main purpose of it is to nominate, vote on, then read, discuss, and play different indie TTRPGs. We put playgroups together based on scheduling compatibility, so it’s all extremely flexible. This is a free discord server, separate from our patreon exclusive one. https://discord.gg/7jdP8FBPes
Here is the full changelog! Remember, you can get a copy of this beta version of Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy, along with three adventure modules, two short stories, and a novella, all for just $5 on our patreon page. And there’s no better time to do so, because of the Gorgon Initiative! Long story short, the playable gorgon monster type is a Kickstarter stretch goal we didn’t hit, but if we can reach 50 total patreon subscribers before the end of June, we’re going to be adding it to the book anyway! At the time of writing this, we’re at 50/50, but may have some cancelations! You could make the difference, and get all this new Eureka content to boot!
Here’s the full change log
CHAPTER 1
Added Heat optional rule. A whole new set of mechanics for tracking how much police attention the investigators may be drawing, as well as how law enforcement will respond.
Heat is now a complete mechanic that has been copy-edited. This should be re-read if youve already read it, because a lot has changed since the last time you saw Heat.
Minor edits to the READ ME section.
Added a section properly codifying and explaining “meal scenes”
CHAPTER 2
Added “Arithromaniac” trait
Added “The Other” trait
Gave a bonus to bicycles and skateboards that make them slightly better for getting past chase obstacles.
More snoops have been added
Moved the explanation of making Wealth checks for food to the new Chapter 1 section for meal scenes
Fixed the fact that the example skill list added up to 2 instead of 0 like it was supposed to and this somehow went overlooked for this long
Fixed a typo in the WP section. It is 3D6+6+[wealth] not 3D6+3+[wealth]
Tweaked Just One More Thing trait to not impose a penalty for Social Cues
Changed the Ambidextrous trait to reflect the new changes to how two-weapon melee fighting works
Better clarified the Burnout trait
CHAPTER 3
Minor tweaks to crashes.
Removed specific damage values for Light Thrown Object and Heavy Thrown Object, so if a weapon is thrown, it just does the same damage as it would if a character attacked with it normally.
Separated Movement during Combat into separate sections based on either using theater of the mind of a node map, grid, or tabletop.
Hastily added Speed calculation to normal combat when using an actual map. Will probably need to be cleaned up later during copy-editing, but this makes the way Eureka handles character movement way better with some kind of map, and allows a fight to flow into a chase and vice versa completely smoothly.
Clarification that the unkillable trait works like armor for the purposes of 1-damage attacks.
Added Damage to Vehicles section in preparation for the vehicle woo roll tables being worked on
CHAPTER 4
Instead of adding an extra D6, you now add a +1 to each dice roll when an attack is made that involves firing multiple bullets at once.
Finished the vehicle specific positive woo roll table
Finished the vehicle specific negative woo roll table
In addition to negating stabilization rolls, bipods now add +1 to shots against stationary targets.
CHAPTER 5
Added rules for accuracy across distance when throwing objects
Adjusted maximum possible throwing distances for thrown objects
Added new section “Two-Weapon Fighting” with more realistic rules for fighting with two melee weapons.
CHAPTER 6
General tweaks, clarifications, and fixes to the overhauled chase rules based on playtesting.
Vehicle obstacles now take more actions as penalty
Added and optional rule for using number of nodes to determine firearm range in a chase rather than the exact literal in-world distances
Hitting pedestrians on motorcycle now results in major crash.
Clarified how a Vehicle Attack can be done against an on-foot target.
Finally finished all chase obstacle tables, though they remain unedited.
More minor tweaks to chases.
CHAPTER 7
In the next big update we are probably going to turn this chapter into a general “tools for the narrator” chapter and move a bunch of the narrator advice from chapter 1 to chapter 7.
CHAPTER 8
Vampires now get additional investigation points from engaging in their arithmomania weakness.
Wolfmen now gain additional investigation points when smelling things
Fairies now gain additional investigation points when asking about family histories and sense of self
Things from beyond now gain additional investigation points when inquiring about human motivations and emotions and when they succeed Social Cues checks
Added a small mechanic for the narrator determining how many days until the next full moon, for the purposes of determining when a wolfman will transform.
Gave witches a Flying write-in skill for use when flying enchanted manually powered vehicles or things like enchanted broomsticks. This does not allow them to fly without an enchanted object.
Slight tweaks to vampire
Need to increase religious themes with the vampire
Changed the name of the Transform Mage Trait to “Werewolf”
Added individual mage traits to the table of contents for easier referencing
Added Living Doll mage trait. An investigator can now be a living doll. Despite being a mage trait, this trait cannot be used with the witch’s Witchcraft trait.
Tweaked Witchcraft trait to make it clear that some mage traits are now exempt from being used with it.
Changed Telekinesis mage trait to not have a limit of 50 pounds and instead just count as an Athletics of +2 whenever the viability of lifting anything is in question.
Added an alternate version of the witch monster type that has no curses or flying vehicle, but can have 4 mage traits permanently active.
Removed the more weenie hut jr mechanics we were going with out of cowardice for vampires and holy symbols, and instead embraced the religious themes by including actual Christian (and related faiths) religious themes, rather than trying to skirt around them and try to make vampires applicable to every world culture
Major changes to “I Burn Easily” vampire weakness. A vampire’s concern with holy symbols, prayer, etc. are now more personal and subjective. A vampire’s hangups about entering homes uninvited are now also more personal and subjective. The severity of a vampire’s obsession with numbers is also now set by the player on the vampire’s tiers of fear, and the vampire gets a proportional bonus to any roll that significantly and reasonably involves math or numbers, not just Paperwork.
Many sidebars added to vampire trait list.
Tweaked “even monsters are afraid of something” section to reflect changes to vampires
CHAPTER 9
We definitely need an index but it has to be the last thing we do.
Removed the crappy skeleton of an index we had so as to make the issue of artificially inflated page count slightly less bad. This made the total page count about 4 pages less scary to new readers.
Elegantly designed and thoroughly playtested, Eureka represents the culmination of three years of near-daily work from our team, as well as a lot of our own money. If you’re just now reading this and learning about Eureka for the first time, you missed the crowdfunding window unfortunately, but our Kickstarter page is still the best place to learn more about what Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy actually is, as that is where we have all the fancy art assets, the animated trailer, links to video reviews by podcasts and youtubers, and where we post regular updates on the status of our progress finishing the game and getting it ready for final release.
Beta Copies through the Patreon
If you want more than just status updates, going forward you can download regularly updated playable beta versions of Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy and it’s adventure modules by subscribing to our Patreon at the $5 tier or higher. Subscribing to our patreon also grants you access to our patreon discord server where you can talk to us directly and offer valuable feedback on our progress and projects.
Other Stuff
We also have a ko-fi and merchandise if you just wanna give us more money for any reason.
We hope to see you there, and that you will help our dreams come true and launch our careers as indie TTRPG developers with a bang by getting us to our base goal and blowing those stretch goals out of the water, and fight back against D&D5e and WotC's monopoly on the entire hobby. Wish us luck.

I was tagged by the lovely @indigowriting to post the first three paragraphs of my WIP, and since I'm knee deep in Postmaster WIP that's what you'll be getting! It does feel a little like cheating because my paragraphs are always so long...

The road out of Wariford was straight, wide and well paved. As small a town as it appeared to be on any map, it was the gateway to the Empire from the South and the East, and in Wariford that badge was worn with pride. It was the reason the Wariford Postal Service was so in demand. Of course, they were proud to be part of the larger Imperial Mail Service, but all of the old WPS buildings still had the original crest carved above the door, and the Postmaster still referred to it as the WPS despite the twenty years of Imperial service since it was taken over.
Ida tugged a little at her postal jerkin, which had ridden up somewhat with the journey on horseback thus far. She always wore her uniform meticulously; the brass buttons gleamed against the brilliant blue jerkin, her marigold stockings were never stained or rumpled, and her cap was never askew. However, in the heat of the Eathel summer, she loathed the way the cape made half of her torso sweat more than the other, and the boots, while perfect for travelling in rain and mud, stifled her feet and made them swell. If she had been making a short journey she might have opted for something lighter, might have forgone the boothose and spurs entirely, but this was not a few days to the Western counties and back. This was a veritable quest.
The Postmaster, a wizened, elderly gentleman with an old-fashioned swallow-tail beard and eyes like small beetle carapaces comically enlarged by his thick eyeglasses, had taken her aside not a week before and directed her to the back of the sorting room conspiratorially. He had handed her a small, oiled-leather pouch containing folded parchment sealed with green wax.

Interactive Maps for Websites: A Game-Changer for User Experience
Interactive maps for websites can transform the way your audience interacts with your content. Unlike static maps, which only display basic information, interactive maps let users zoom, click, and explore in real-time. Whether you’re running a business, managing a city project, or sharing community resources, adding an interactive map can make your website more helpful and visually appealing.
Tumblr media
One of the best things about interactive maps is how they simplify complex information. For example, instead of listing addresses or creating tables, you can display store locations, service areas, or event venues directly on a map. This makes it quicker and more convenient for visitors to find what they need.
Interactive maps are also customizable. You can match the colors and style to your website, add pop-ups with extra details, or include filters so users can narrow down their options. This means you can design a map that fits your specific needs while keeping things easy for your audience.
Interactive maps work for just about any type of website. A tourism site can showcase local attractions, while a nonprofit can highlight community resources. Even a real estate website can use maps to show property listings in a clear and interactive way.
If you’re looking for a tool to create interactive maps for websites without the hassle, MapGeo is a great option. It’s designed to make mapping simple and effective, helping you share information in a way that’s both useful and visually appealing.
Adding an interactive map to your website isn’t just about looks—it’s about giving your visitors a better experience. With tools like MapGeo, you can create maps that are functional, beautiful, and easy to use, helping your site stand out and keep people coming back.
