community college is so funny because half of the teachers are like "For this class you need to use lockdown browser for all quizzes and tests. You need to buy this 70 dollar textbook, and all papers turned in must be in APA format with a title page even if they're only 500 words long. I will not accept late assignments. Also you have a minimum of 4 assignments a week." and the other half are like "you don't need proctoring for the final exam I trust you. here's a download link to a pirated copy of the textbook. as long as your writing is coherent and demonstrates an understanding of the material I literally could not care less what format you use. I can't figure out how canvas works so I'm not giving you due dates, just make sure it's turned in before the grading period ends. your only weekly assignment is a forum post with a minimum of 100 words."

As far as New Year's resolutions go I'm actually doing pretty okay at keeping to them. Here's hoping I can do more sketching for graphic design while I'm at work.

Ive had an idea for a project i'd like to work on and was wondering if anyone would be interested in participating.

I've been thinking about creating some sort of Roleplaying simulation game that can replicate some type social experiment type of thing. a bit of a in depth, immersive type of roleplay i suppose.

People would submit a character theyd like to play for theyre application and if selected would be dropped into a premade world and put into a situation created by the staff/mods. For example: "The Zombie apcolopse has started and all of you are trapped inside this building and have to survive until rescue comes" (with more detail but thats the jist) the characters would then have to interact and make decisions to carry out their objectives. You can make alliances with people, make enemies, and pretty much 'compete' in the game.

I'd like to create some sort of platform to host this one as discord doesn't seem to be versitile enough for the features I'd like to use.

I haven't really fleshed everything out yet and am still in a bare-bones state of planning but if that sounds interesting to you please lmk id love to collab :D

this poll is mostly just to see if people are interested.

man does it ever strike you how fucking useless 90% of the AI shit companies are trying to peddle is? like especially for creatives it's just so functionally fucking useless.

"oh but I can use it to write the manual for using this tool" is genuinely something my boss said to me earlier today and I was like. do you know how AI works? do you know that in order to effectively write the manual for that thing, it needs to reference another manual that was already written for the thing? another manual for the thing which was,,,, wait for it,,, written by a human.

it's just so many of the use cases that people try to point out for creatives are just like. functionally fucking useless for many reasons but esp because it's referencing something SOMEONE ALREADY DID. why do I want a robot to regurgitate some shit that a serbian man already wrote on a website in 2009. he already did a fine job. why is the robot here.

i only started learning HTML so that i had something to work on in science while other kids worked on catching up, and i figured i can use it to do some custom tumblr theme stuff. however im actually having fun learning it.

I thought it would be interesting hobby to develop a writing website from scratch. So, I’m just getting general ideas.
