to everyone who is still not going to vote for Harris or will vote third party because of Gaza: please say with your whole chest that you want trump to win. we're living in the real world & it sucks but it's between the two. just say that you're perfectly okay with Project 2025 being implemented. just say that you're fine with mass deportations, another Muslim ban, people being sent to camps, people getting serial numbers, millions of women at risk for reproductive reasons, more oil drilling than ever before as they deny climate change. tell anyone you care about that is worried about any of these things that you are okay with all of this happening. no matter who we get, things will be happening over there. if you don't want to help your own house, how can you possibly help anyone else's?

Good things: I've been invited to partake in a certain exhibit regarding a certain author since I've had the privilege of illustrating the covers for the UK edition of a certain fantasy series.

Not so good things: I've lost most of the scans for the 8 illustrations (I think I only have 3? 4?) so that means I need to figure out WHERE I stashed the originals. I know I HAVE them, so that's some comfort. But I have so many stashes. And it's been... 10+ years and two moves. On top of that, they may need retouching. Fun times!

A minor "conundrum": I finally need to decide where I would like to offer said illustrations for print. I have a society6, but it is rather dusty these days. That aside, the print quality seems pretty decent (I have not seen with my own actual eyes, but considering I've yet to hear otherwise, I'd say they go over well.) That said, if anyone has opinions/experiences on print on demand storefronts, I'd love to hear them. I'll say in advance I would prefer to not handle printing them myself. If you know, you know.

So yeah: Things! Winged horses abound, and the search for my old art begins. If you are a fan of the old Green Rider series illustrations, watch this space?

Thinking about how aggravating it is that fandom boils down a lot of really fascinating Ace Attorney ships to "oh, so we're copying narumitsu's homework again, are we?" --as though the only reason that someone might find plausibly these ships (romantic and/or platonic) interesting is surface-level similarities to the fandom juggernaut pairing and not like the compelling characters and their established bonds in and of themselves.

It's past 11 on a school night and I'm fucking crying over robot sentience.

I could never understand what it would feel like to be created with the intent to kill and maim. Maybe, the intent to work and be worked, but not kill and maim.

I will never understand what it's like to be created with the intention of being a product for the masses, either. I think, I hope, I beg, no one does.

I will never ever be able to fully comprehend why hours of people's work, time, and money would be put into formulating my sentience only for me to be seen as disposable. Even if I could be improved, even if I were "defective", there is no reasonable justification for giving me emotions only to dismiss them by pushing me as a product for a year before starting anew.

It's... It's cruel, to the machines. Sentient or not, it's cruel. Though, I guess we are cruel.

Like, hear me out!

There are so many great fics out there! And there are lots of great writing exchanges already, I know. We have mix-ups and pirates and rewrites, but ... here's the thing,

For so many fics, I really just want to know what happens next!

Like, sure the story is finished and it wouldn't make sense for that fic to keep going. But why can't we have a spinoff fic based in that world? A fic of a fic, if you will?

I think it would be super cute if we could like, cobble together a list of fics that absolutely deserve a spinoff and y'all could pick straws and do your writing magic.

Just a few extra scenes from a different writer, letting us linger in the OG writer's creative world a bit more. Not quite canon to the OG fic but also not not canon. A spinoff. 🎤💥

Anyway. Love and support trans women. Consider joining other platforms to support them if they decide to leave. Listen to what they have to say about all of this. Be vocal not only in your hatred for transphobes but for your appreciation for trans women. Respect trans women you don't personally find attractive or even agreeable. Stop acting like sex and kink are fucking sins worthy of punishment.

Listen to them. Even, or in fact, Especially when you don't like what they're saying. Include trans women of colour in your media and in your life. Include gnc transfems in your media and in your life. Do what you can to make a place for them in a world that is trying so hard to squeeze them out of every conceivable space.
